We had a ferry to catch and he kindly arranged to serve us early just after six. We had a mountain of a plate of creole food - butter milk fried chicken with the crispiest skin, ribs rub and cooked till they fall off the bone, seasoned rice, mince and pork and delicious mushrooms. I love what they’ve done to turn it into a true third space for the community. We got there, went to the shop and grabbed a few bits. Due to the amazing reviews decided to try the restaurant as well. There was a queue and we got told we could only be seated outside. Not ideal, given that we were with our baby and it was cold and windy but we said ok. We ordered the food then waited for one hour for it to arrive. In this time people came, sat inside, had their food and left. We were still waiting. My little one was absolutely hysterical because she was hungry and needed to nap. Tried to give her some fruit we got from the farm shop but it's not like a filling meal, she couldn't be settled. Many of the people who came after us said they had no reservations but were seated inside regardless. I don't know how we were left waiting that long and outside on the cold. The food was alright, hence the 2 stars but they were missing the mac and cheese we wanted to try. To be fair, if the food was served to me in London I'd be impressed but on the island there are so many wonderful places that use local fresh produce that this is just completely not worth the hassle. So far our worst experience this holiday. So disappointed.

My wife and I only spotted this a couple of days ago and thought we should check it out. It's a small local business that offers incredible food at a great price. I had the Irish breakfast, and my wife had the Polish sausage special. Both were stunning. They were beautifully presented and tasted incredible. We were returning to the mainland from the Isle of Wight. As we had arrived early we parked on the main road in to East Cowes to have a coffee. Walking down the road, we spotted the cafe. The service by Wilbur was very friendly, and watching him take such pride in preparing and presenting the fold was refreshing! The food itself was absolutely, pardon the pun, smashing. The burger had a lovely char to it, and was a really good size. The chili bowl was a feast for the eyes and the stomach, and the tater tots were a tasty side! Our only comment (not a criticism) was that we'd like a little more heat, but that's our personal taste and there are lots of little additions that could be added in to accommodate our own wishes. This is a gorgeous place during Summer Time, especially when you eat outdoors it feels like you are ok holiday. We came early afternoon at 12pm, we just missed the breakfast menu, and it was still busy with people queuing at the till for Wednesday July 2025. I ordered the baguette egg+crest, and I wasn't sure if I should have it with brown bread or baguette. I usually eat egg crest with white bread, so it felt strange to eat it with brown bread. However the lady at the till recommended I have it with baguette, and surprisingly it tasted delicious. Orders with me ordered the Soup of the Day, which tasted ok. And another ordered Corned Beef with chutney with baguette, which did taste nice. All of the sandwich meals comes with salad and crisp. The price of the meal were decent, we paid total £25 for 3 brunch meals. You are looking at under £10 per person for any meals. The drinks menu were decent, coke cost £1.85, while other restaurants charge like £2.50. There is a small pet station outdoors as the dogs can drink water. Lots of spaces to eat indoors and also outdoors. There are two toilets available, they were spacious and clean. The staffs were very hard working as this café was very busy. The only annoying thing was the insects harassing us as we ate our meals outdoors. Later on we had to move indoors to eat. This can't be helped. I cannot fault anything wrong with this cafe, it has a great view of the church close by. I would recommend this small cafe in Isle of Wight, if you are visiting this place or you are in the Quarr area.

I left my bag on my table by accident, and was on a ferry 15 minutes later leaving my bag with some expensive belongings in the cafe. The next thing I know, the Betty’s team are mailing the bag back to my address and covering the mailing fee, which is a lot when mailing from the Isle of Wight to my address! They kept me updated with the whereabouts of my bag and sent it back to me, whilst also sending me the receipts! They got this done within a day of me reaching out to them. I am just extremely grateful for this and it has to be some of the best customer service I’ve ever received, nicest staff! To add to this, yes the food is also amazing and very cheap. I paid £7 for a cheese and beans jacket potato which filled my entire plate, and a large side of salad. Overall a 10/10 cafe, amazing and super friendly customer service paired with delicious affordable food. Thank you Betty’s Door!

When you pay for nearly £5 a coffee you want it to be what you ordered: frothy milk with foam, decent coffee, correct ratio of syrup. I am a barista myself and was super excited to try a new place.
