It did not disappoint, in fact it probably exceeded expectations having seen on the map all the other eateries on the street. The drinks and cakes were sublime, wonderfully presented and the size of the portion incredible. A shout out to the chef’s granny who makes the cakes. The staff were polite, calm and efficient, loved the allergy question. Will definitely be persuading son to get another tattoo so we can have a return visit.

We came for afternoon high tea. The sandwich’s were lovely and home made. The cakes however, were all really dry. Really disappointed as I wanted this place to be lovely! I think £25 for a slice of cake, sandwich and scone is expensive but, if the cakes are good then I don’t mind. The scones were clearly old as they were crumbled and dry. When you cut them they just crumbled apart. The cake selection wasn’t great and again clearly been out the freezer for a while because, they were so dry. I brought my grandparents here for a birthday present and sadly it let me down! I think for that money you almost have to guarantee a good quality cake. It was very well presented though !

Cosy without the claustrophobic, cluttered feel that "cosy" sometimes seems to mean. An appealing, varied menu, giving me some trouble in choosing. In the end we both had delicious burgers and chips, cooked to perfection. Thought the burgers seemed like good homemade ones, while the thick chips were the gorgeous balance of crispy and fluffy that thick chips ought to have. We're not in Southampton often but I think I will have to go back to try the homemade fish finger sandwich. It was nice to see a good range of omnivore, vegetarian and vegan options without it compromising anyone's options.

The replacements took more than it needed to replace as the original staff member went off to make a coffee. In all fairness and I don't say this flippantly...it wasn't worth the £18! Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and cannot thank the team enough. But - the rates are at the top end of the market in Southampton, and I had such an excellent experience when I stayed at Room2 in Chiswick that I had high hopes when booking. It was wonderful, so much lovely stuff, I could have spent a fortune. We also had our lunch in their restaurant which was nice. There was a lot of choice which all looked good. On arrival I was presented with four English chefs who were sat down and left alone to read the menu without being pestered or Disturbed. After ordering, fresh breakfast come out and looks amazing! He's a butcher's sausages butcher's bacon, free-ranged farm eggs good quality baked beans. Real Heinz tomato sauce and brown sauce. Very nice! Fantastic choice of coffee beans, well roasted and the drinks are well balanced and full of flavour. We ordered food too; great ingredients and bread used. There's plenty of seating which is comfy enough but not the kind that would encourage a prolonged visit. The coffee itself is top notch - compared to the other branch in central it's just as good. The house espresso was bright and juicy - a nice balanced modern coffee with enough zing to enjoy straight but also rich enough for milk coffees. There's sandwiches and pastries on offer but as far as I could tell no cooked breakfast or brunch such as avocado toast. The staff were super friendly and relaxed. Well worth making a stop here or at the other branch.
