The menu offered fairly standard dishes (similar to pub food), but the prices were on the higher side. We started with chicken wings, which were freshly grilled, steaming hot, and full of flavour. At £21 it did feel pricey for pasta, but it was beautifully presented, almost Michelin-style, and the taste exceeded expectations. Staying at a local glamping site not too far away we took a walk along the water front and spotted the restaurant. We went in with low expectations as we knew nothing of it or anywhere else in the area. The weather was great and we asked to sit on the balcony outside which had a wonderful view of the water as the sun began to set, the balcony was lovely as it was open topped but had glass curtains the entire way round to break any wind if their was any. We were both honestly blown away at how tasty both our meals were, everything fresh and full of flavour from starters, mains and desserts with plenty of variety to choose from. We highly recommend The Boathouse and we most definitely would take a road trip in future to return! 10/10

A shout out to the friendly chef Karlo who chatted to us both after our meal. Plenty of free parking right beside and a lift to the restaurant upstairs on entrance. If visiting do think about browsing the lough Neagh centre downstairs and take in the new Finn McCool sculpture just a wee dander across the car park. There is a play park for the kids there as well as a decent walk you can take right across to Antrim Castle and gardens which is flat with outdoor gym equipment dotted here and there.

We spent just over £30. We ordered a gourmet burger, taco chip (mince meat), fish supper and a portion of goujons. The staff weren't very friendly upon arrival. Our food was cold and the chips were not great either. Asked about the gourmet burger and told "if you want to wait 20 minutes for it". We then asked about their other burgers to be told the waiting times were similar to the gourmet burger. So we stuck with the gourmet burger. The gourmet burger did not match the name. Basic burger with basic toppings, very tasteless and the cheese wasn't melted on it. The taco chip (advertised as minced meat). There was no minced meat within this. It was vegetables and sauce. Again, the chips weren't great. Worst chips I've had from a chippy. The fish looked like shop bought fish, very small, greasy batter and very dry fish. The goujons were more like chicken dippers. Now the seasoning on the goujons was lovely and the chicken was coated perfectly with this. They were not goujons and more like kids chicken dippers. We also got a taco dip on the side and it was lovely. I would not recommend this chippy at all. Over priced ans poor quality food and service.

Got that and a BPM which came to £8.50 all in, seems very expensive for a small lunch meal. The curry I got was completely brown and nothing like the usual curry you would expect from a chippy. Maybe just an off day there but hard to tell. Overall experience was pretty poor to be honest. Not many choices for 3 course lunch sets but the chow mein (stir fried noodles) pairing with spicy beef is very nice and definitely worth going for. Paying a tenner for the salmonella on chips that they serve is a bit too steep in my opinion. After being robbed, people then had to wait an hour for a kebab or a pizza. The other 4 can be earned by charging people the correct amount and quickly serving edible food - who knew that these were the key ingredients to a successful fast food restaurant? Staff were very friendly and helpful. I particularly liked that there were storage rooms available for a surfboard/bike etc (I wouldn't leave anything like that on the car overnight). Plenty of bars, local eateries nearby. My only criticism really is that the carpark is very small. It's first come first served and really tight. You might have to park around Ramore or Lansdowne on-street overnight if you can't get in the Hotel carpark immediately. I didn't get a PCN doing this thankfully. (You can pull up into the free carpark for 24 hrs at Ramore also). A bit of hassle but wasn't too much bother on the whole.

Lovely setting overlooking the golf club and decorated nicely inside, we had our 1 year old with us and access was no issue with a lift up to the first floor. The staff were all very welcoming, polite and helpful, plenty of quirky things to keep the kids amused and has a nice family atmosphere about it. The food was top notch, I can see why it was rated so highly, adult main meals were a great size and very tasty, the kids meals were a generous size with ours struggling to finish theirs. We will definitely be returning now that we have found this place, thank you for a great experience while dining out.

I wasn't planning on this. I endured a very long wait ( 45 min) to get in to the restaurant. I used the virtual queue system but I found that the wait times were increased while I was in the queue. It was annoying and I nearly decided to head home. I was patient enough. Between two adults and a child, we ordered a starter ( the sweet potato wedges) and two mains ( a Fino wrap and a half chicken) . The chicken was cooked to perfection.
