There was one blip in the drink order, but that was corrected and the dinner progressed. However, with the opening of the Bonchon here, there is finally an affordable and savory meal. They have started offering LUNCH SPECIALS starting at $6.95 and for people in the area, we know that this price is a no brainer these days with food prices on the rise. Plus the serving wasn't bad at all. I got the chicken & broccoli fried rice with 2 wings and honestly it's good for 2 regular appetite people or 3 people on a *low* carb diet. I was also kind of hungry, so I had to pair the bowl of Pho with a crispy spring roll (Cha Gio). I came in on a early Friday evening just after 5 PM. Not very busy, just two other tables with people. I ordered a vegetarian dish with curry, potatoes, and cauliflower. And the bullet naan. I would say, it’s better to order appetizers here, since the one entrée took longer than it should have come out. The vegetable curry dish was good but the rice lacks seasoning and the bullet naan is supposed to have peppers on it but only had sprinkled cayenne powder. It’s also a little pricey for what you get. It's one of my favorite foods. Lately I'm making kimchi at home monthly as I consume a lot of it it's good for the belly. While I was traveling to Virginia I decided to try this place for some reason. I got the Kim bap and the toppoki. Can't really do an extensive review on these items cuz typically they're simple foods, street foods. They kimbap was pretty good I got it with spicy pork inside. The topokki was okay it was a very large portion but it was also very expensive. In Korea an order topokki would probably cost you under $5 but here they charge almost $15. The Kimbap was $10. Here's a strange oddity they have kimchi but they don't give it to the customers. I think they only give it to the Korean customers or to the people who know they have it like a secret menu item. It's weird because it's sitting right next to the register. Maybe they're looking at the customers and giving it to who they think will like it. Anyway being a kimchi lover I asked for it and they gave it to me for free. But the kimchi was very bad tasting. It literally tasted just like salted cabbage with pepper powder sprinkled on it. I like my kimchi fermented as it supposed to be as it adds in a certain level of tankiness and complexity to it. One thing I know for certain is just because you are from a different country doesn't automatically make you some type of chef in your new country. And that was crystal clear here. Although this is Korean street food it doesn't require much culinary talent they was just okay but too expensive for what you get. I say pass.
