Building and grounds were very clean. Walked in and was about 10 people back and I thought it would take forever. I was way wrong! Had my order in within a minute. The cashier/order taker was extremely friendly and great at his job. While waiting for our food, I really watched closely to what was going on behind the counter. It has been a very long time since I have seen such a well working crew at a restaurant. I was very impressed by how clean the place was at the middle of lunch. The little that was on the floor was quickly swept up, and tables were wiped down very quickly after they were empty. We got our food and my burger was awesome. My brother said to order a double double animal style. Awesome burger! I got a small fry and very much enjoyed them. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you're in the area.

I've eaten in a few Black Bear Diners and I've always had a great experience. We ate in one in Lake Havasu City 2 days ago. We got there at around 4:00 and ordered turkey dinners. My husband wanted baked potatoes and they said they were out of baked potatoes. How you can be out of baked potatoes before it was even dinner time I do not know. He said he'd wait for them to cook them. It took about 20 minutes and one was like a rock. The waitress did comp us a few dollars off the bill because of that. She was a great waitress but the problems are this. The turkey was not good to me. It was dry and not as good as I've had from other Black Bears and there was no stuffing. I thought they always gave you stuffing with the turkey dinner. There was also an ice cream sized scoop of mashed potatoes. The cranberry sauce was very good as were the fresh out of the oven corn muffins. My husband did like the turkey but he likes his food dried out so you can't go by him. The biggest problem however was a family of flies adopted us. They kept flying around us. There were at least three of them and they were not big adult flies so I'm guessing the parents were bothering someone else. That really did skieve us. We were told it's because of the recent humidity and people keeping the door open too long when they were coming in and out. OK but honestly if the flies were in the dining room I'm guessing they were in the kitchen too. Maybe fly traps would have been in order. It really was disturbing and gross. We kept having to swat them away. Had they been buzzing around us before we ordered we would have left. While the deserts looked very good those flies were driving us crazy so we left. I know there are flies in Arizona but seriously a whole family of them descending upon one table of diners is insane. I am not exaggerating. I come from New York City and honestly the Dept of Health would close a restaurant down for this. Anyway that's all I wanted to add to this. I don't normally write bad reviews even if I don't like a restaurant but those flies really did disturb us both.

I was dropped off here with family during a jet boat tour excursion and decided to dine-in as it’s the closest eatery inside the Island Mall to the London Bridge dock. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food at this restaurant. The crispy bacon inside my BLT was to die for and the sandwich was overall very tasty. The sweet potato fries were also yummy, but I was severely disappointed when they only placed four waffle fries on my plate. It’s restaurant 101, you need to have proper portions. Our waiting service left much to be desired, our waitress didn’t really check on us and seemed a little standoffish. It felt like she was looking into my soul at some points, I’m not sure what her intentions were. The younger staff were super nice and really hardworking! I need to give a major shoutout to them for taking their job seriously. I wish we could’ve gotten one of the younger staff members, they had great customer service from what I could tell. Overall, I really liked the tiki aesthetic and Hawaiian decor at Makai. I think I’d give it another try when I visit Havasu again, however I’d come at a different time and order something else like breakfast.

There was only one other person in the entire shop and about 5 people working. 1st off, they did take my order pretty quick but the guy taking my order was distracted with talking to his co workers and even stepped away while taking my order to talk to them. 2nd it took 5 minutes to get my sandwich, which I know because I took a phone call after I got my drink and it was a 5 min long phone call. 3rd the bread was not fresh at all, the bottom was rock solid and actually hurt my mouth while eating it. Other than that I love Jimmy Johns. But very disappointed in how the shop has not stuck with the speedy and quality of food and services.
