Aunt Marion’s salad is great as an entree or upgraded side salad. I got one of the Features of the day, Grilled Mahi Mahi with lobster cream. the lobster cream complimented the fish and rice. Dining room is small, but not too noisy. Waitstaff was very attentive and gave honest, informative suggestions about the menu. No extra charge to use a credit card.

The lunch menu is always very good too and Sunday brunch is always the beginning of a food coma. The spicy Bloody Mary paired with Uncle Claude's stacked and poached eggs and country ham is hard to beat.

We actually even wanted to have a birthday dessert but we were so ready and fed up with the experience we ended up ordering carrot cake to go. We had a baby and a 1 year old last summer when we showed up, and joked that they put us up near the street so the kids didn’t disturb the other tables- but in fact, it was the best spot! Our 1 year old spent the entire time in the window waving to passerbys. Great food, such a friendly staff (and we know we leave a tornado behind us), and such a cute location. They provided all of the utensils, napkins, plates and cups along with enough coffee (decaf and regular) for us to sip on our whole meeting! The presentation was beautiful. The Truffle Romano Chips were delicious and so crisp. My mother-in-law and I had the Roasted Airline Chicken. Tonight they lost us as customers. I ordered a drink that was too lemony and asked for them to replace it with a glass of wine. They charged me for both drinks even though the cocktail did not have the honey or lavender flavors described in the menu. All I could taste was the lemon. They didn't offer to remake it. The server took it away and didn't bring it back even though i was charged full price for it. They charged me for the cocktail I returned without drinking and charged me for the wine. The food and atmosphere are lovely but I cat recommended a restaurant which doesn't value and appreciate their customers. If they can let repeat costumers go over an item that cost them so little to make that's poor management. The barkeep doubles as the grill cook, and he was great. Friendly, outgoing, competent on the grill. Food is burgers and fries, and they are terrific. Get the double cheeseburger for 6 bucks, as the patties are small. Plenty of choices for toppings; their “all the way” only had chili sauce, onions, and mustard. Next time I’ll add coleslaw for the proper North Carolina version. Fries came from a bag, they were thin and cooked properly, then served piping hot. Decent draft selection but they were out of several local beers. Had the Red Oak, an NC Vienna lager, and one of our favorites. I’d eat here every week if I could.

There was a wait when there was lots of open tables. I believe they are just short staffed which is a challenge. The staff were all very nice as always and Krystal at the bar was awesome! The thing that made me knock a star off was some food quality issues this time and a beer I had got was a new keg while changing beers and it wasn’t flushed or prepped well. So the last beer I paid for was not right and the baked potato was so bad I had to ask for another. I’ll be back and update accordingly. There are some challenges and things to work out but overall a good local spot to eat.

We found this cute lil restaurant on the water where the prices seemed reasonable & affordable . Coming from Maryland my crab cake expectations may be a little high.The crab cake had too much filler for my liking but overall everything else was great! Shrimp & Grits was amazing as well as the shrimp & crab potato. The best part of the whole experience was our waiter PJ! If you ever come here I would definitely recommend requesting him as your waiter. Very attentive & great personality and so much fun! I will for sure be coming back here when I come intown to visit family again.

It's been 30years I've waited. My friends thought it was good but they don't know it then. I'm sorry to say but I was very disappointed. Even more disappointing was watching my $30 plate hit the trash. I did notice from looking at it and the one bite I took that there were excessive spices present, maybe Mediterranean or Mid Eastern. Each owner has the right to serve their food the way they want to, but I went into a restaurant that looked the same 30 years ago and I guess I expected to get good local food as there was no indication it was different. Its a very pleasant place with a nice view of the water. But the breakfast was very unappetizing. We chose this place because of the favorable reviews, but were terribly disappointed. We both has eggs and bacon, grits and English muffins. When our plates arrived, we both noticed an unpleasant smell. I didn't think the eggs or bacon were rancid, but the smell was very "foul". The texture of our scrambled eggs was dry and rubbery. I ate most of mine anyway, assuming I would not become sick, but my wife ate very little. The grits were edible but nothing special.
