This review is just for lunch, but we’ve also enjoyed happy hour and dinner at Steamer’s. Their unique Shrimp BLT is one of my favorite items on the lunch menu. It’s made with oven roasted jumbo prawns and applewood smoked bacon and it’s served on toasted focaccia bread with a generous helping of fries. Other menu items that we’ve enjoyed over the years include the roasted mussels, fresh grilled halibut, tortilla soup, clam chowder, fish tacos and prawn tacos. My wife wishes that they’d bring back their scallops and risotto dish. I’m hoping for a return of their fresh Alaskan (instead of Pacific) halibut. The dining room decor is looking a bit dated, and some of the upholstery has even gotten a little threadbare, but that’s all understandable given how restaurants are just struggling to survive these days. Many of the servers at Steamer’s have worked here for years and their professionalism is apparent. This is a white tablecloth restaurant but the food and wine are fairly priced given the quality. Reservations are recommended, especially if you want to sit outside.

The burger I had was really good and they did have gf bread, and the new sweet potato tots were a great pick with a nice sauce that came with it! I’ve eaten beignets all over New Orleans, and I tell you what, if people were served these there, this restaurant would be shut down. Fantastic food in a relaxed atmosphere that seemed to not take itself too seriously while still being of exceptional quality. That is challenging. In the past seven months or so, we’ve tried the French dip sandwich, the turkey-avocado sandwich, the ahi tower, and the crab cakes, in addition to the steak medallions and shrimp-avocado salad that we had back in January. All were cooked perfectly and tasted great. Service was equally efficient and friendly. I couldn't resist having a glass of Guinness with my French dip and I'm glad I did. This family owned and operated restaurant first opened in the 1960’s and has been in the same hands for 30+ years. Many of the staff have worked here for years and service has always been top notch. My wife and I have dined here often, mostly for lunch. The downstairs dining room is quiet and cozy with old world style decor and subdued lighting, but we prefer to sit on the large patio which we think is the best outdoor dining spot in town. Our last experience was at lunch on New Years eve day. I ordered the bistro steak medallions which I think are tastier and more tender than other beef items on the menu. The three pieces of meat were cooked perfectly (medium rare) but I’ll have to ask them to cut back on the sautéed mushrooms and onions next time so that the sauce doesn’t overwhelm the food. My wife enjoyed her double shrimp and avocado salad. She doesn’t really like tiny bay shrimp so our server just substituted a few more prawns without charging extra. The seared Ahi salad used to be her favorite, but the quality of the fish hasn’t been the same for a while. We make it a point to order their delectable mixed berry puff pastry for desert. The pastry is always fresh and flaky and the vanilla ice cream and whipped cream complement the berry compote nicely. If you’re in the mood for classic American fare with a California twist, I definitely recommend the Wine Cellar.

The manager was also very active, while taking a booth with (whom I assumed was the Chef) they were clearly in a meeting, but they also attended to the patrons frequently. They do have a fun little arcade area with claw machines and other stuff that could be fun for the kids. Food didn't take too long to come out either. So yah If you come here, they do have good pizza, but Id probably just STICK to the pizza, lol.

I pull up to the self service kiosk, intrigued by the tablet order system and stumble on the queso sandwich. Talk about upsell....OK, fine, I'll have bacon and cheese on sourdough bread, add "grilled chicken" check, add spinach check, add tomato check, so I start out with a $6.95 sandwich, pay $2.50 more for what I assumed was a chicken breast.
