Caesar was okay. The burger was…meh, okay at best. Like I said, maybe i picked a bad night and the chef was having an off day. But the cheese wasn’t even melted, and there was no condiments on it, and there was almost no flavor in the beef itself, not seasoned properly that’s for sure. I think the last nerve that made my eye twitch was the total bill for what I got. I’ll probably not be coming back cause for the price i can get a better burger with better flavor almost anywhere else for cheaper. Two stars is cause the Caesar was good. The Maitre D' of the restaurant is such a lovely gem of a person. Always welcoming and caring. It was our introduction to slow-cooked lamb shank. And we fell in love with the rest of the menu. Spicy, succulent, and delicious 😋. The sampler and bread feel so homely, and the constant refreshments are fantastic to start and end on. We love having tea here with the saffron rock candy. At least, I don't mind sugar with my tea 😊. Lamb shank is always a must-order, but so is the karahi. Definitely some of the better karahi I've had while traveling. Can't wait to come back! 8.8/10

Since we moved to VA, occasionally we drive by the same street as this restaurant when going to downtown Fairfax. First the restaurant looks cute from the outside. The cashier register area is disorganized, with glass water jars open, on top of the a desk, combined with folding wooden trays that is used to bring the food. A rolled up rug standing in the corner of the entrance area. Our waiter was overwhelmed answering the phone, placing custom orders, managing to-go orders and taking care of seated customers. Husband ordered Pho with Round Steak - I ordered Spicy Hue Soup (number 28) described as spicy beef broth with slices of beef shank, tendon and thick rice noodles. We also ordered Thai Iced tea. Meanwhile I started taking photos inside the restaurant. Our food arrived and husband started eating his Pho. He was happy. Mine had a terrible smell of bad fish, so I called the waiter who explained that that's normal. Then the chef came asking what was wrong? I asked why the soup smells so bad and what else is in there and why is it super salty? He said they added shrimp paste to the soup. I never heard of such a thing: beef broth and shrimp paste, really?! Another thing I didn't appreciate was the cook rolling his eyes when I could not find these extra ingredients in the menu! In my case it turned into stinky soup, in someone else's case it can turn into a serious allergic reaction. I don't care about his secret ingredients or recipe, but when I eat out I expect full disclosure about what I am ingesting and paying for. In the end, I didn't eat that soup but ordered some garden rolls and called a night. This was not the pleasant and enjoyable dinner we were planning on having. TL/DR: The food was tasty and the meats were well-seasoned and garnished with delicious sauces. Execution was uneven with the burgers done well but the bowls a confused mess. We ordered two burgers, the Gogi and Carne, both single patties and simply done. Both rated solid thumbs up for taste and texture. We felt the patties were a bit thin though. The Carne Steak and Cheese sub was an explosion of meat, flavors, sauces, and soft bun. This sandwich was rich and intensely satisfying...but the bun was not up to containing the juiciness and the bottom became soggy. Aside from improving it by cutting the bread differently or using a different kind of bun, this was a winner. The Sweet Chili wings were good if not stellar. The fried wings were properly cooked but swimming in a bit too much sauce, which was tasty but a bit one-dimensional. Not up to BonChon quality but good enough. The Bulgogi Bowl was the most puzzling and disappointing dish of the outing. We couldn't figure out what style of bowl this was based on. It was frankly a mixed up mess that was flavorless and overwhelmed with cold shredded cheese. Possibl;y the fact that this was a custom bowl, but they seemed to have no idea of how to put it together and in what proportions.The ingredients were also odd. For example, the cucumbers showed clumsy attempts to remove the seeds, which were tiny. This was unnecessary and mangled the veg. Overall, we would probably visit Bebop again but focus on the things that got them a mention in Northern Virginia magazine: the burgers and meat sandwiches.
