The entrance was decorated with southern charm and what was to be “expected” of a BBQ place. I had to use the bathroom and I was happily surprised as to how clean the ladie’s room was. Clean and actually very nice looking. My father always said “a restaurant that has a clean bathroom, has a clean kitchen”. He always went to the bathroom before sitting at any restaurant to see how clean it was. So, yeh, very clean. The staff from hostesses to our waitress were very pleasant and friendly. Real southern and kind. I asked for this and that and were given them with a smile. Their food was good (ribs seem real small) but their collard greens were amazing. Had two portions!!!! Check arrived without an offer of dessert. So much the better, don’t need the extra calories. Overall a good local BBQ place. Would be back. P. S. Was too hungry. Hence no pictures of the food. They close at 9 pm. We wanted to try some Home style barbecue. My husband was looking forward to having the brisket but they ran out so that was disappointing. We ended up having the full rack of ribs with coleslaw, baked beans and homemade potatoe salad. Everything was delicious, ribs fall off the bone. The service was good and overall would return to this location. We happen to visit the one in Murphy NC and definitely the food was not as enjoyable so location does matter in my experience.

The sides included LOADED twice baked potatoes salad and fried green tomatoes. Since I was from the south, I was a little skeptical of the Fried green tomatoes. House put to rest after the first one, they were crispy, salty, and citrusy. The loaded twice baked potato salad with something on its own. It was almost like a luxury appetizer, all the complex flavors are twice baked potato, but just as good refrigerator as fresh. If you’re staying anywhere near the Helen or Gainesville area, the 20 minute ride is well worth The customer service and food you get.10\10 Food, 10 out of 10 customer service and THE BEST peach cobbler ever. I accidentally tipped my water and she wasted no time to help clean it up. The issue was when I was looking for someone to get us boxes two girls were at the counter looking back at me and one of them said to the other “she’s looking at me” (I read her lips) we waited 15 minutes for the boxes and never got them. She walked past us multiple times within the 15 minutes. My partner also went up to the counter to ask for a box and the ladies walked away as he was approaching them. Will not be going there again.

That's a management issue in my opinion, and a good argument for assign tables to staff in the same area, and not spread about the restaurant, especially when the restaurant consists of numerous small rooms. The food that other diners received looked and smelled terrific and everyone seems satisfying with it. Ours was warm, but not hot. My burger had a good flavor and I really liked the bun, but it wasn't " hot off the grill". My onion rings were okay, but a bit bland. I'd go with the fries next time. The fact that the onion rings weren't hot didn't do them any favors. I'd try it again based on my uncle's past experience, and the reactions of the other diners.
