My new colleagues raved about it. Who doesn't like a good BBQ joint. Amazing decor, the place looks like a million bux. I ordered the mixed plate brisket with pork and sides. No biggie, but I get some of the reviews about service from here. Not many smiles, a little lack lustre, but the customer service is still there. So glad we decided to give Eltons a go. This time, I got chips and salad with my steak, which was great, considering that on my last visit, the meal felt small and incomplete as they didn't do salad with the meal. Staff were friendly and attentive, without being overbearing. Menu is varied and prices are reasonable. 2 of us ordered the lamb rump, which was cooked to perfection. The rump steak was slightly overdone, but not worth worrying about. The chicken mignon was on the dry side. The portions were generous. The only downside to the meals were the vegetables served on the side in small glass bowls. The broccolini and spinach looked and tasted fine, but underneath was a selection of wilted, over-cooked frozen vegetables (snow peas, carrot chunks, baby corn, broccoli etc) which really detracted from the meal. I have no idea why anyone would include such a thing on a plate that contained a beautiful meal, and that looked good until you dug a little deeper. The Mexican pie and the potato, pea and beef pie were absolute winners; full of flavour with the flakiest pastry. Mudgee Bakery and Cafe really fulfilled the brief. Our salad rolls were so well filled, fresh and delicious. The venue don’t take bookings unless it’s a large group so we headed there early around 5. It’s a great vibe, full of people drinking, families in the back courtyard area with a sheltered seating area too. We managed to get a seat for the family upstairs by the fire which turned out to be a great spot as she was pretty fresh outside. It’s a big menu with a lot of choices. Being the middle of winter and in the country I was after a hearty lamb shank slow cooked type meal. No shanks but slow cooked lamb was on the menu so had to roll with it. Serving sizes were impressive but it wasn’t cheap either so you got what you paid for. Overall the lamb was good, probably could have been cooked for another hour as I was expecting it to melt when it with the fork, it was definitely soft, but no melt unfortunately. Everyone else in the family was happy with their meals so no complaints there. Would definitely visit again to try something else from the menu and enjoy a few more Hop & Clover beers on tap 👍🏻🍻💚

We walked in as a table of 5 on a Sunday. It was not overly busy. The coffee was terrible but they did remake it for me. The waffles were nice. Basic but tasted good. The others meals looked nice. I guess the clincher for me is when I had paid and walked up the street but then needed to use the bathroom and came back. It was in their business hours so I was shocked when they said I couldn’t use the bathroom as they had started to clean it. I would have waited. (I was gone 10 minutes). While there was no additional cost for the gluten free bread, again its price of $16 was not reasonable for the value of food delivered. A more reasonable price for these items would be around $10. If you're after a great Thai meal in Mudgee I would recommend this place. I would definitely order from here again. We ordered a Pad Kee Mao and Jungle stir fry. The prices are great - we paid $32 for the 2 dishes (Sept '24). Both dishes were VERY generous with meat, and also vege. The jungle stir fry was amazing and had a nice level of spice. The pad kee mao was also tasty and enjoyable. I was expecting wide noodles but it comes with thin (it does say this on the menu but I hadn't paid close attention) and wasn't as saucy as I had anticipated but we did enjoy it. The order was ready in the time given when I arrived to pick it up. The staff were welcoming and friendly both on the phone and in person. The restaurant is conveniently located in the main part of town. Street parking is plentiful and easy.
