This Government Museum of art and architecture is like a hidden gem which I guess many are unaware of. A friend mentioned about this institution in Sector 10 in the passing and I decided to check this out on a weekday. The building, the presentation, the collection -- it blew away my mind. Basically there are three important buildings -- one is dedicated to Architecture, the other to Natural History and the last one is dedicated to art, paintings and sculptures. Everything is very well placed in spacious halls, very well marked and labelled. At most of the installations and paintings the descriptions are both in English and in Braille. It's so heartening to see the thoughtfulness in even the layout as ramps help in the movements of wheel chair bound art connoisseurs The charges are minimal and you can even ask for a guide. A few hours spent here is just like touching the tip of the iceberg. I guess many more trips to the various sections of the museum should be planned in order to know and appreciate our art, culture and heritage. It was so nice to see a batch of young school children being taken around -- an early awareness will help them mould well. A word for the staff -- very polite and helpful.
