Fortress
Sights & Landmarks
Junagarh Fort, a stunning 16th-century marvel located in Bikaner, is a must-visit for history enthusiasts and architecture lovers alike. This impressive fort showcases an eclectic mix of architectural styles that reflect the rich cultural heritage of the region. As you explore its grand halls and intricate designs, guided tours offer fascinating insights into its storied past.
An amazing fort and must visit fort. It is beautiful and very well maintained. The buildings are stunning and the history is so interesting. It's not too crowded, so you can really enjoy walking around. One of the best forts I have seen. You should definitely visit if you are in Bikaner. Entry fee for Indians is 150rs and for foreigners it is 600rs. This includes fort and museum entry along with a free guide. Do not fall for guides operating independently. instead prefer the one that comes along with the entry ticket.

Visiting Junagarh Fort in Bikaner felt like stepping into a grand chapter of Rajasthan’s royal history. Unlike most forts that sit atop hills, this one stands proudly on flat land, making it easier to access—especially for senior visitors. The moment I entered, the intricate carvings, beautifully painted ceilings, and royal artifacts took me back in time. Every corner of the palace complex had a story to tell—from the royal bedrooms to the weapon galleries and ornate courtyards. The fort is open from **10 AM to 4:30 PM**, and the ticket price is quite reasonable—₹50 for Indians and around ₹300 for foreigners. Audio guides cost about ₹350, but I chose a local guide who was both informative and entertaining. He explained the history with such passion that it made the whole visit more memorable. Accessibility-wise, the fort is fairly senior-friendly as it’s on level ground and cleanly maintained, though a few narrow stairways and uneven sections might require caution. Parking is available near the entrance, and staff members are quite helpful if you need assistance. Overall, my experience at Junagarh Fort was both educational and emotional—a glimpse into Rajasthan’s regal charm without the hassle of steep climbs. The guide’s storytelling, the preserved grandeur, and the sense of calm inside made it one of my favorite stops in Bikaner.

Junagadh Fort, Bikaner is a stunning blend of history, architecture, and royal heritage. The fort is beautifully maintained, with intricate carvings, grand courtyards, and ornate palaces that showcase the richness of the Rajput dynasty. The museum inside is impressive too, offering a closer look at weapons, costumes, and artifacts from centuries ago. The entire tour feels like stepping back in time. A must-visit place in Bikaner for history lovers, architecture enthusiasts, and anyone who enjoys exploring royal culture.

Junagarh Fort is an absolute gem in Bikaner! Unlike most forts built on hills, this one stands proudly on the plains — yet looks grand and majestic. The architecture is stunning, with beautifully decorated palaces like Anup Mahal and Phool Mahal showcasing intricate carvings, mirror work, and vibrant frescoes. The museum inside is fascinating, with royal artifacts, old weapons, costumes, and even vintage aircrafts and carriages. The guided tour was excellent — the guide shared some amazing stories about Bikaner’s royal past. The fort is very well maintained, clean, and great for photography. I’d recommend visiting in the morning or late afternoon for the best light. If you’re in Bikaner, don’t miss Junagarh Fort — it’s a perfect mix of history, art, and royal charm!
Kingsuk S — Google review
The fort is amazing. After whole tour, I was just mesmerized is a beauty and the history that it serves. I forgot the Red Forts of Delhi and Agra. The architecture is amazing. Most amazing sites are Anup Mahal and Holi chowk. The whole court is covered with art. Well preserved by the royal family. The ticket is 100 (fort) + 50 (royal museum) for Indians. This staff is good and helping. Must visit for all in a lifetime.
Vimal K — Google review
A building of utmost heritage importance. Tour guide was biased and wouldn't tell anything. But the fort is beautifully made and was evolved with various generations. Various materials can be seen used over different regions and walls. Hints of indo - Islamic design, maratha style, British mostly - as the late prince was their favorite - can be spotted at various spaces. Sandalwood singhasan is a show stopper.
Kritika R — Google review
Hi If you visiting Rajasthan don’t miss junagarh fort and palace. This is the most beautiful palace accosting me compared to Udaipur and Jaipur. The collections are so colourful you will go flabbergasted . Pictures will tell the story . I am not good at photography. Still the photos seems to be extraordinary 😊
Kasim A — Google review
The ticket counter closes by 4:30 PM, so make sure to reach early and book your tickets in advance. You can hire a guide from outside, or opt for a free government-approved guide included with your entry ticket (though you may need to wait a little). Inside, the fort showcases magnificent royal courts adorned with gold and silver, and the intricate architecture and detailed wall designs are truly captivating. It usually takes about 30 minutes to explore the entire palace, depending on your pace. Parking is available inside the fort premises, and since the fort is centrally located in the city, you can also explore the local bazaars nearby after your visit. Overall, a beautifully maintained fort that gives you a glimpse into Bikaner’s royal heritage and grandeur.

Built between 1902 and 1926 for Sir Ganga Singh, Maharaja of Bikaner, the palace is a magnificent example of Indo-Saracenic architecture. Made of red sandstone with intricate latticework, it seamlessly blends Mughal, Rajputana, and European styles.
Lalgarh Palace Bikaner. Lalgarh Palace is a palace and heritage hotel in Bikaner in the Indian state of Rajasthan, built for Sir Ganga Singh, Maharaja of Bikaner, between 1902 and 1926. LaxmiNiwasPalace is a part of #Lalgarh Palace but it has been given on lease and recently is being used as a heritage hotel. The palace was built between 1902 and 1926 in the Indo-Saracenic style. The building was commissioned by the British-controlled regency for Maharaja Ganga Singh (1881–1942) while he was still in his minority as they considered the existing Junagarh Palace unsuitable for a modern monarch. Ganga Singh decided that the palace should be named in memory of his father Maharaja Lall Singh. Great place to stay. Lacks a bit in maintenance. Few of hotel room amenities does not work properly and garden can be improved. Beautiful architecture, but it has been converted into hotel. Couldn't see from inside. Very Beautiful Garden in Bikaner.Well maintained and clean. Garden and Palace built by Maharaja Sir Ganga Singh between 1902 and 1926 .Lalgarh Palace Usta art and Mughal architecture style.Palace very beautiful and amazing architecture. One of the finest, delegated place to stay in Bikaner, being a regular customer I know how good their services are, and how good they are at solving the customer's problem. The food is also up to the mark. The reason why I haven't given 5 stars is their management of swimming pool. It's always dirty and requires regular maintenance. Had a great experience there, visited it many times. It is a royal property. The palace is a great way to explore and fall in love with history, royalty and architecture. It is built largely in the European architectural style that will leave you in awe of its beauty. Marriage function, programs can also be organised there. the entire estate comes under the National Heritage Trust. The estate also houses a museum named Shri Sadul Museum, where you can find traces of Rajasthani Royalties and get an insight into their extravagant lifestyle. Built with red sandstone bought from the Thar Desert, the colours of the beautiful structure when they change shades as the day progresses. If you wish to stay at the Lallgarh Palace Hotel, you'll be amazed at the massive size of the rooms you'll be living in and the regal hospitality you'll be receiving. One of the estate wings has been maintained only for the Royal family of Bikaner. The other two wings are for The Lalgarh Palace Hotel and the Lakshmi Niwas Hotel.

Lalgarh Palace is a beautiful heritage structure that reflects the royal elegance of Bikaner. However, visitors are only allowed to access the museum section, not the palace itself. The entry fee is ₹150 per person, which feels a bit high since the palace interiors aren’t open to the public. That said, the museum was quite good — it’s well-maintained, clean, and houses an interesting collection of royal photographs, artifacts, weapons, and other historical items that give a glimpse into Bikaner’s regal past. The architecture and the lush palace grounds visible from outside are stunning and worth seeing. Overall: A nice place to visit if you enjoy history and royal heritage, but it would’ve been even better if visitors were allowed inside the main palace.

Rampuria Haveli is a renowned cluster of aristocratic homes in Bikaner, known for its exquisite architecture and historical significance. Constructed in the 15th century by the affluent Rampuria merchant family, these havelis are made of striking Dulmera red sandstone and showcase a blend of Mughal, Victorian, and Rajputana architectural styles.
Rampuria Haveli is a very old and beautiful building in Bikaner, Rajasthan. When I saw it, I was amazed by the detailed carvings and the rich red sandstone walls. The haveli looks like a royal palace, with its big doors, beautiful windows, and colorful paintings inside. It was built many years ago by a rich merchant family, and even today, it looks grand and elegant. Walking near the haveli feels like going back in time. The streets around it are also very charming. I felt very happy seeing such a wonderful part of our history still standing strong.

Exploring Rampuria Haveli and the narrow lanes of old Bikaner felt like stepping back in time. 🏰✨ The havelis, especially the grand Rampuria Haveli, are a masterpiece of red sandstone — every balcony, arch, and window tells a story of royal luxury and Rajasthani craftsmanship. Walking through the busy yet charming lanes around it, I could feel the old-world vibe — decorated doors, colorful houses, and the aroma of local snacks filling the air. People were warm and welcoming, always ready with a smile or a story. The entire area has a rustic charm that makes you forget the modern world for a while. The Seth Bhandashah Jain Temple, a stunning gem from the 15th century, stands out as one of Bikaner's most exquisite Jain temples. Renowned for its intricate architecture and vibrant wall paintings, this temple showcases a harmonious blend of white marble and red sandstone that radiates elegance. Inside, visitors are greeted by beautifully carved pillars adorned with floral motifs and captivating depictions of the lives of the 24 tirthankars—great teachers in Jainism.
Situated at Bikaner. One of the most fascinating aspects of the temple is its construction. Unlike traditional temples built with water, the Seth Bhandasar Jain Temple was constructed using clarified butter (ghee) as the primary binding agent. This unusual method has resulted in a structure that exudes a unique charm and has stood the test of time. The temple's walls are adorned with exquisite carvings and vibrant paintings depicting scenes from Jain mythology and religious practices.

This is the famous Shwetambar Jain 'ghee' temple of Shree Sumtinath prabhu. With a chaumukhi pratima as well. It has 40,000kg ghee in the foundation of the temple. In the summers the floors feel greasy by themselves. Made more than 500 years ago. Famous for its gold work paintings on the mool gambhara doorway and the main temples domes. Mandir is open the whole day post 6am till 7.15pm. Here clicking photos is not allowed. Nearby there is another prachin Shri Neminath Temple in the garden behind this Ghee mandir. Here you can click photos by paying 50-100 rupees. I have shared picture of the Neminath Temple. Photo. Here red and green colors are used to paint the walls and doors.

Seth Bhandashah Jain Temple - Peaceful place, not enough crowd. Add in list if visiting Bikaner.
Rishab D — Google review
The temple is famous for wall painting and art work. This temple was constructed by Bhandasa Oswal in the 12th century. The temple is dedicated to Sumatinatha, the 5th tirthankara .According to legends, 40,000 kg of ghee instead of water was used in preparing the mortar for the construction of this temple.
Shruti C — Google review
The main fact that Ghee was used to make foundation instead of water. The story behind is that people gone to Seth Bhandashah for the donations to make tample. But at that time a drop of ghee spilled off from the hand of Seth and the Seth immediately wiped it by his another hand to avoid weasteage. After seeing this, The priest tonted the Seth that you can't even spare a drop of ghee, how will you make that luxurious tample. The Seth then declared that in making of the foundation of the Tample, the ghee will be used instead of water and all the ghee will be provided by him. The priest had taken it lightly, but next morning what he found that tons of ghee was there as Seth Bhandashah promised. At the time of May and June, one can witness that even today ghee comes out from the floor of tample. The tample is dedicated to First Tirthankar Bhagwan Rishabh Dev

Gallops Restaurant & Coffee House is a charming eatery located opposite Junagarh Fort, offering a variety of Indian, Rajasthani, Continental, and Chinese dishes. Gallops restaurant in Bikaner is a pretty great place for a nice meal with your family/friends. They offer both indoor as well as outdoor seating. We opted for the outdoor seating. The decor is quite pleasant and comfortable. Staff is very polite and service is prompt. Our server ensured that we had a comfortable meal. Menu is pretty elaborate and offers a wide array of veg and non veg dishes to choose from. Menu is primarily Indian only. The portion size of the dishes is pretty decent and the taste was super great. Almost everything we ordered was very delicious. Food was good but I expect that from such a restaurant which serves Indian cuisine. Service and the whole management of the restaurant is very poor. There is no experience here, this is not a fine dine. People keep coming and going wearing track pants and picking up their orders. The reception/cash counter looks horrible. There is nothing in the name of the atmosphere. The floor is uneven so your chair or table may give you a seesaw effect. Restaurant is expensive for what it has to offer.

So it was my birthday stay and wanted to adjust date 1 day before. Quite simple right?? i hope that it's not that big task and called at reception and first guy was just unprofessional and not at all helpful. Just repeating 2 lines like a parrot. And 2nd woman on call was very friendly she gave me a hope and connected me to high manager. And here the game begins, he sends me link and explaining he is helpless and he can't do anything on his end... Sir you are manger here and why its not in your hand??? Such a pathetic experience even before staying. I gave up with adjusting dates and decided not to stay there and i guess they will deduct money aswell. So i will pay but i will not stay. They can enjoy our real hard money.

As a hotel to stay, this is not a great place to stay. We thought since its heritage property it will be good but it turned out to be very bad. Bathroom taps were not working properly. Shower point was leaking. Restaurant food was very average. We paid 6.5k per night but not worth more than 4k a night. Found just one level above a lodge facility

Decent rooms, amazing food, great service as specially "BOBY SHARMA" who delivers best service during our stay. Staff is very nice and we feel like home.

It's one of the most amazing properties in Bikaner. Probably with the maximum wildlife trophies in the Palace. Great hospitality.

"I recently visited The Laxmi Niwas Palace in Bikaner and had an excellent experience. The food was great, especially the fried rice, which was awesome! The hospitality was top-notch, thanks to Saif Sumar Singh Ji, who did a wonderful job. Highly recommend this hotel for good food and hospitality!"

Great restaurant with delicious food, beautiful ambience and excellent service! The staff is friendly, the place is clean, and the prices are reasonable. I loved everything I ordered. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for tasty vegetarian food, good service, and a cozy dining experience.

Utsav is a newly built restaurant with impressive interiors and a decent seating capacity. It is conveniently located, making it easy to reach from most parts of the city, and it offers ample parking space. The venue also features a party hall and garden, making it suitable for larger gatherings. The overall food quality is good, but the prices are on the higher side. While the taste and quality are commendable, I would still recommend considering other options. On a positive note, the service is satisfactory, and the staff is well-behaved. If you're looking for a good vegetarian restaurant, Utsav is worth adding to your list.

Ustav is a decent place for a casual meal. The ambiance is pleasant and the staff is polite. Food quality is okay—some dishes stand out while others could be better. Good for a relaxed outing with friends or family, but not a must-visit spot. Overall, an average yet satisfying experience.

“I recently celebrated my child’s birthday on 25 August at Utsav Restaurant, and it turned out to be a lovely experience. The food was not only delicious but also had a unique flavor that made it stand out from regular restaurant dining. The staff was attentive and ensured everything went smoothly throughout the celebration. Although the prices are slightly on the higher side, the quality of food and overall ambiance made it absolutely worth it. It was a memorable evening for us, and I would definitely recommend Utsav Retro for family gatherings and celebrations.”

Parkash server: very good, checked upon us often. One of us got food and got to finish before the others recieved ours. A little loud not so relaxing music but they turned it down for us. Very silent nice looking place. The food was amazing, very good tasting food!! :) overall happy with everything in the end!

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. But what truly made the visit memorable was the excellent service. A big shoutout to Manjeet, our service boy, who was incredibly polite, attentive, and professional throughout our meal. He made sure we were comfortable, explained the menu items patiently, and checked in regularly without being intrusive. His warm attitude really elevated our dining experience. Highly recommend this place for both the food and the exceptional service. Thank you, Manjeet!

We 3 friends from Australia loved our dining experience here at the Sattvic rooftop restaurant! Prakash was a lovely waiter with great customer service. The food was excellent, we ordered the chef's special paneer angara, khumb mutter masala, jaipuri aloo pyaz. We would love to come again!! Thank you Prakash.

We would definitely recommend Sattvic Restaurant to anyone looking for good food, warm service, and a place where family and friends can enjoy time together. We look forward to coming back soon!

The first cafe I tried in Bikaner during my solo tripping. Not that much foodie so I never google about the good food around but the end up at this place called cafe adda. The interior was as always catchy and quite modern compared to the valouric Bikaner. I had a regular margarita pizza, which was good. Then I ordered big jumbo adda special sandwich which was not so up to the mark but was eatable. Service was prompt and place was clean! Best luck :)

This is a really nice and cool place to enjoy some burgers or tasty sandwiches. The vegetarian burgers are absolutely fantastic and if they served them in London or Berlin, there would be so much hype about their burgers. I came here twice when I was visiting Jaisalmer and really loved it. I also love that they show Premier League games on their TV.
