Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta (often called “Jogja”) is a city on the Indonesian island of Java known for its traditional arts and cultural heritage. Its ornate 18th-century royal complex, or kraton, encompasses the still-inhabited Sultan’s Palace. Also within the kraton are numerous open-air pavilions that host classical Javanese dance shows and concerts of gamelan music, characterized by gongs, chimes and plucked string instruments.

Taman Sari, also known as the Taman Sari Water Castle, is a historical site located in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Built in the 18th century by Sultan Hamengkubuwono, it served as a royal garden and retreat for the Sultan of Yogyakarta. The complex features ornate bathing pools, pavilions, and waterways designed for relaxation and meditation.
We visited this palace which has pools and water features. There are many photo worthy spots here although the steps going from one section to another are pretty steep. We enjoyed our visit here.

I visited Taman Sari Tourist Village and found it really interesting to walk around. The old bathing pools and underground passages give you a glimpse of the history and culture of Yogyakarta. The surrounding village is also fun to explore with small shops and local people selling crafts. It is not a huge site but it is unique and worth a visit if you are already near the palace.
Lydia C — Google review
We visited Taman Sari Royal Garden because we were looking for a place that was open that day — it was my second to the last day in Yogyakarta, and unfortunately, the palace itself was closed. I’m glad we ended up here though, because it turned out to be a really unique and memorable experience. It wasn’t too crowded when we went — there were a mix of locals and foreigners, and the atmosphere felt calm and pleasant. The sun was very hot outside, but once you go inside the chambers and passageways of the garden, it becomes surprisingly cool. Each section feels like a hidden corner full of history and charm. What stood out to me most were the many small pathways and exits all around the garden. There seems to be only one main entrance, but several exits lead into nearby residential areas or small alleys that connect to local streets. It really gives you a sense of how this place once functioned as a living, breathing royal space — private, mysterious, and full of life. Even though the structures are old, you can still imagine how stunning it must have been at its peak — with the pools, gardens, and chambers in their full glory. It’s one of those places that lets you step back in time and feel part of Yogyakarta’s royal history. A truly cool and fascinating place to explore — peaceful, historical, and worth the visit.
Joneaj B — Google review
I have no regrets about visiting this historical site, even with the crazy heat in Jogja that day. It definitely still needs ongoing maintenance and preservation. Taman Sari was the Sultan's / King’s former water castle/bathhouse, I can only imagine how grand and cool this place was back then. Entrance is 25K.

Taman Sari (often called the Water Castle) is one of Yogyakarta's most popular and historically fascinating tourist destinations. Taman Sari Water Castle: Taman Sari, which means "fragrant garden," is a beautiful and unique former royal garden and leisure complex of the Sultanate of Yogyakarta, built in the 18th century. It is known for unique architecture, photo opportunities, and historical atmosphere. The Vibe & Highlights Architectural Beauty:The complex is a striking blend of Javanese, Islamic, and European architectural styles. The most stunning and well-preserved section is the central bathing complex. The Royal Pools (Umbul Binangun): This is the main attraction. It features three dazzling blue pools—one for the Princesses, one for the Queens, and a secluded one for the Sultan. A watchtower sits between the pools, from which the Sultan reportedly chose a consort as they bathed below. The Underground Mosque (Sumur Gumuling): This unique, circular two-story mosque is hidden underground and accessed via an Escher-esque set of stairways. Its design creates unique acoustics that allow the imam's voice to be heard clearly without a microphone. This is a favorite spot for photos. The Kampung Taman Village: The complex is nested within a charming, traditional Javanese residential neighborhood (Kampung Taman). Exploring the narrow alleyways offers a glimpse into local life, including small shops selling traditional arts like batik. Location :Located just a short distance (approx. 2 km) south of the Kraton (Sultan's Palace). Opening Hours :Generally open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM daily. Entrance Fee (Foreigners) Approximately IDR 25,000 (Indonesian Rupiah). Estimated Visit: Time 30 minutes to 1 hour, plus time to explore the surrounding village. Getting There: Easily reached via becak (pedicab), andong (horse cart), or ride-hailing services (e.g., Grab). Best Tips for Your Visit 1. Hire a Guide (with caution): Local guides are available and highly recommended, as they can provide fascinating historical context and mystical stories that bring the ruins to life. However, a common traveler tip is to be aware that some guides may be insistent about taking you to a family batik or craft shop afterward. 2. Explore the Tunnels:Don't just stay in the main pool area. Ask locals or your guide to point you toward the entrance to the underground tunnels and the Gumuling Well. 3. Dress Modestly:As a cultural and former royal site, dressing respectfully (avoiding overly short or revealing clothes) is appreciated. 4. Combine with the Kraton:Taman Sari makes a perfect half-day excursion when combined with a visit to the nearby Kraton (Sultan's Palace).

Historical place where it was bath place for kings back in the time. It wows you with the architecture and the beauty of the place. It is quite a big complex where you will walk a lot and tons of place to take beautiful pictures. There will be guides once you enter who will offer their service, totally up to you to take it. Some alleys are in the neighbourhood area which means you will walk around people’s house.
Nurul H — Google review
Taman Sari has an interesting old royal structure and some really nice photo spots, but it’s definitely overhyped and heavily crowded. Good for a quick look, not ideal if you want a calm historical experience.
Lazizbek E — Google review
Taman Sari, nestled in a charming neighborhood, offers a fascinating look into Yogyakarta's royal past. This "Water Castle" complex, though undeniably small-scale and showing minimal recent maintenance, possesses a unique appeal. The entrance fee is low, making it an accessible historical site. A delightful aspect is the freedom to climb atop some of the remaining gate structures, providing interesting views. Guides are present, but be prepared: ours, while informative and willing to take photos, was quite insistent on leading us to his shop afterward. We ultimately "escaped" through the gates, which made for a memorable, if slightly comical, end to our visit! Despite its modest size and condition, Taman Sari's unique charm and the freedom to explore make it a worthwhile stop for those seeking a less polished, more adventurous historical experience.

Beringharjo Market, a historic marketplace dating back to 1758, is a must-see attraction in Yogyakarta. Located in the Malioboro area on Jalan Pabringan, this traditional market offers a wide array of goods including clothing, souvenirs, and Indonesian delicacies. Visitors can explore the market's stalls selling traditional batiks at reasonable prices and immerse themselves in the fragrances of Javanese herbs.
It was really nice and memorable experience shopping at Beringharjo. There was many Batik in variatif motif and variatif model of clothes. The quality is good enough. The price is negotiable, so we have to smart to take the negotiation with Seller. It was really fun!
Albasita A — Google review
The traditional market in the center of Yogya city, seems to be the oldest market in Yogya. Many stalls are neatly lined up and the traders are friendly. Sells various types of clothing and batik cloth with various motifs. The clothes sold are mostly women's clothes. Prices are also not too high and can be negotiated. If you want there is a lot of culinary delights, some have to queue. Many women sell satay and many also buy it. Maintenance and cleanliness are moderate. Enjoy the photos.
Iskandar Z — Google review
Located in the heart of Malioboro street, this market is mostly dominated by batik shops. You can find a wide array of batik outfits, including dresses, pajamas, shorts, blazers, and skirts, with various prices. Some items can be bargained, and some have a fixed price. Most of the prices are reasonable. The building itself is well-maintained, and the entrance is really captivating with its old-style colonial architecture.

I was just here to wander around and try the snacks. I bought sate kere with konyor and chicken. The chicken didn't taste fresh, it was sour. The pecel was delicious, the chili sauce was a bit runny but the vegetables were fresh. The price affordable

Selendang/ scarf mostly batik.. Hope it helps & you guys enjoy vacation in Yogyakarta or Indonesia.. 🥰

... this market is a part of Malioboro that's a shame to miss. It's a center of economic activity for hundreds of years, and its existence holds philosophical significance. This market, which has been renovated many times, symbolizes a stage in human life that is still focused on meeting economic needs. Furthermore, Beringharjo is one of the pillars of the "Catur Tunggal" (consisting of the Kraton (Palace), the North Square (Alun-Alun Utara), the Kraton (Palace), and Beringharjo Market), symbolizing economic function...

The Ramayana Ballet Purawisata is a captivating traditional dance performance that portrays the ancient Valmiki Epic of Ramayana. This highly stylized and intricate dance form, performed with music and drama, showcases Javanese and Balinese traditions. Visitors can enjoy this mesmerizing show along with a delightful dinner featuring local cuisine. The ballet is presented at various venues, including indoor theaters and open-air settings like the Trimurti Theater.
Ramayana show is one of a must show to see when you’re visiting Jogjakarta. It’s in the middle of the city and the venue is a semi open air space. You could choose a package with buffet dinner or just a show. We opted out buffet since we already had dinner way before the show. However, their dinner looks decent and good. Before the show started, we were given out a drink as well as the story of the show. So we could understand how the story goes when show starts, which was very thoughtful gesture in my opinion. Since we read the story beforehand, we could understand most of the characters that were showing up at the show. All the characters were shown beautifully and their dances are amazing. We got to see a bit of fire show as well during the battle numbers. We were glad we decided to watch this show as part of our holiday! 🫶
Ayeshia F — Google review
An absolutely outstanding Ramayana performance. I was completely mesmerized by their creative fire performance, which was totally unexpected and breathtaking. So many elements of the show were surprisingly beautiful and unforgettable. Sadly, there were not many Indonesians in the audience to witness this cultural masterpiece. I 100% recommend experiencing this in person. I'm proud to be Indonesian and grateful for the chance to witness such incredible artistry live.
Dwi F — Google review
Being from India, this was a visual treat to watch Ramayana story Being told in Javanese style. If you are visiting Jogja do not miss it. You can also watch similar show in Prambanan temple bit this is inside the city. For center seats you may want to book early especially in peak season
Rengesh K — Google review
Great show, great buildup to the ending which was very thrilling and loud. Definately a must watch. Theres a restaurant there but during the rainy season there were many many bugs.
Damian C — Google review
Very interesting and cool performance. I enjoyed watching the traditional dance storytelling - I would recommend. Staff were very kind too. There is a cafe/restaurant on the site but our tickets included a small mineral water which is thoughtful.
Mai-Leen N — Google review
I’ve been wanting to watch the Ramayana Ballet for ages. But since the Prambanan tickets were already sold out, ended up getting the ones at Purawisata instead. Ticket prices are different for locals and international visitors. Unfortunately, the middle seats were allocated for foreign tourists. If you’re interested, there’s also a buffet package so you can come earlier for dinner. Tbh, we arrived late, but thanks to the guide who sped up the registration process, we didn’t have to exchange tickets and could head straight into the venue. As for the Ramayana story, it’s pretty familiar if you’re Javanese, but still entertaining. It would’ve been more informative if there were bilingual narrations on one side of the stage, so people unfamiliar with the story could follow along. Overall, I’d definitely come back again for another story ✨

Incredible show, and incredible story. I recommend anyone that’s in Jogjakarta to visit the Ramayana Ballet. The dinner is a buffet, which was OK. Decent variety of foods, but the taste was not quite there. However the show is fantastic and that’s the main spectacle.

European restaurant
Mediterranea Restaurant by Kamil offers a delightful blend of French and Mediterranean cuisine in a minimalist setting with wooden accents. Since its establishment in 2012, the restaurant has been committed to sustainability by sourcing local ingredients from Yogyakarta's farms while also importing some essential items. Chef Camille, known as Kamil, hailing from France, showcases his passion for food through an extensive menu featuring authentic Mediterranean dishes like pizza and kebabs.
Looking for the best western food in Yogyakarta and I bumped to this beautiful restaurant. They have quite extensive menu and most of them are intriguing. I tried some of their dishes, ordered some steaks and desserts too… They are all tasty and well priced too, definitely will be back for more. But maybe not on holiday season and be sure to make reservation… 😉

Tried out this famous restaurant while traveling in Yogya. And since it was on a Saturday, the place is packed. So better make a booking before coming to avoid waiting time. Actually they do have plenty of seating area, including smoking & non smoking parts. They also have a shop attached to it that sells bakery items, local & imported goods. For the menu, it was quite vast with options of European and Asian food. So we opted for Duck & Pistachio Pâté, Mushroom Pizza, Entrecote with Cafe de Paris Butter, & Tiramisu. All of the food tasted great. Just for me the pâté needs a bit improvement because the texture is a bit hard so it’s hard to spread on the bread. Portions are hefty so it’s possible to share. Also the good thing is that service fast and the team is very attentive. And if you can, get the chococlatine, it was so delicious!!!!

Our Favorite Place in Yogya! Flawless Food and Service Mediterranea is our absolute go-to restaurant every time we visit Yogyakarta. The food is consistently excellent, and the service never fails to impress. The bread and pastries are the freshest and best in town. We highly recommend the Duck Confit, which was outstanding, along with the Beef Lasagna, Piede de Boeuf, Tiramisu, and Rocher Three Ways—everything was perfect. Bonus: The small shop inside selling unique local products is a great touch! A truly reliable and memorable dining experience.
Bagfetishperson B — Google review
We went to Mediterranea after visiting the Royal Garden, and it was honestly the best decision we made in Yogyakarta! We took a Grab to get there because we were craving pasta and some Western food after days of eating local dishes — and this place absolutely exceeded our expectations. The food is incredible — world-class quality, beautifully plated, and bursting with flavor. We were shocked that it wasn’t overpriced at all! Every time we dined here, our total bill was just around 100,000 IDR, even though we ordered multiple dishes because we wanted to try everything on the menu. Everything was just that good. The ambiance is warm and inviting, the staff are kind and attentive, and the whole experience feels genuinely special without being pretentious. I also noticed that Mediterranea has won a TripAdvisor award, and it totally deserves it. This became our absolute favorite restaurant in Yogyakarta — we went back every single day until we left the city. If I ever come back to Yogyakarta again, I swear I’m coming back to this restaurant. It’s an easy Chef’s Kiss 💋🍝 from me.
Joneaj L — Google review
We had dinner here. Although I had a reservation for a later time, we decided to try our luck and go there earlier since we had an early activity the following day, and the server found us an available table. Restaurant was very clean, service was impeccable and the food was absolutely delicious. This restaurant is highly recommended for both couples and those dining in groups, especially if you want a taste of that Mediterranean menu.

Absolutely amazing dishes!! Every single one them (including the wine!). Cheese was great. Pricing was okay, considering the meals. Service were wonderful. They really know how to treat their customers. Place feels homey, and spacious - if you're coming with group or with kids. There's a shop inside this restaurant, selling Pasta, jam, biscuits, and other import products.

During our visit to this establishment, we, as tourists, dined in close proximity to the Indonesian King and Queen. Our experience spanned two consecutive days, during which we were consistently impressed by the exceptional quality and freshness of the cuisine, as well as the high standard of service. Initially unaware of the royal patronage, we learned of the Indonesian Sultan's presence upon inquiry with the staff.

Restaurant
The House of Raminten is a vibrant restaurant that offers classic Javanese cuisine in a vintage setting with traditional decor. The establishment is named after the soap opera character, Raminten, which the owner used to portray. Upon entering, guests are greeted with an eclectic display of pictures and caricatures of Raminten adorning the walls, creating a whimsical atmosphere.
"This restaurant is a culinary adventure, where every detail is designed to create an unforgettable dining experience. Replica horse-drawn carriages inspired by the Jogja Palace and real stables in the back create an authentic and magical atmosphere. Raminten statues and flowers adorn every corner add to the exotic feel. But the most stunning is the placement of a large bathtub/jacuzzi in the middle of the dining room, which creates an interesting contrast and makes you feel like you are in a dream. The taste of the food is equally amazing, with a delicious and innovative blend of traditional and modern. If you are ready to experience something different and unique, this restaurant is the right choice – make sure you bring cash to enjoy the experience to the fullest!"

Super hot restaurant with lots of heritage stuffs, such as pictures, carriage and so on. The foods they serve is yummy and taste with Indonesian flavor. The cost performance ratio is really high since the portion is really big. However, since there are too many customers all the time, be patient with your orders since it takes around half an hour based on my visit this time. The staffs are really professional to serve you all the time; however it is still traditional in payment by cash only. Not credit, debit or online transfer here. To sum up, a wonderful restaurant to revisit again. Enjoy.

Recommended for international and local tourist. The atmosphere is rich with Javanese culture, the traditional décor and music to the staff’s attire. The menu offers a wide variety of local dishes at very affordable prices, all served in a cozy, dimly lit setting that feels both quirky and authentic. It can get quite crowded, especially at night, but the experience is worth the wait. Perfect place to enjoy good food, culture, and vibes in one spot.

We finally managed to visit this place, and it was definitely worth it. The Javanese culture vibe here is incredibly strong and authentic. The place is very crowded (be prepared for a wait!), but the lively atmosphere adds to the experience. Raminten serves delicious local cuisine at very affordable prices. The portion sizes are just right and match the cost perfectly. House of Raminten offers a complete culinary and cultural experience. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Jogja. *note : only cash payment accepted here

Various choices with lovely price Very local and affordable The only thing that might worthwhile to mention is that you need to endure the smoking sitting in the smoking area or you have to floor seating with you shoes off

Visited this place back in 2018. Just got a chance to post this and share our experience back then. What we remembered was that inside, this restaurant had heritage and exotic design and stuff. We sat on the floor (lesehan), but tables are available as well. We ordered menu bareng for 4, ayam koteka and dawet jumbo. The food was yummy. The sambal and the sate especially. Love the dawet jumbo is so perfect for the weather in Jogja. Overall, we had a nice experience while visiting Jogja. 😊
Li L — Google review
Very good food at very affordable prices! Totally understand the queue outside. Not even a fan of mi goreng but really enjoyed this one, despite it being a little salty. Chicken and egg mixed in bamboo was a little dry but the sambal goes too well with it - we even asked and paid for extra sambal. Beef was very tender and the stir fry was more sweet than savoury. Kiwi drink was so good and refreshing - do stir before adding the syrup as there is already sweet concentrate at the bottom of the drink. All this for 118k. Splendid.
Z — Google review
The ambience is geared towards tradition. All seating is on the floor and we have to take off our shoes. Service is fast and good. Thankful for the waitress who patiently answered our queries and gave good recommendations. I got the gudeg. It's a traditional Javanese dish. I enjoyed it a lot. The chicken was well marinated and the stewed jackfruit added a unique flavour to it. In addition to that, I enjoyed the tempe goreng with the sweet and savoury kecap manis. The goreng pisang was a little lackluster. Overall it was a good and unique experience. This place is always full. We went at 2pm and even at 3pm there were still people waiting for a table.

Located near Tugu Yogyakarta, this upscale restaurant offers a variety of international menus at varying prices, including snacks and drinks. Roaster and Bear is hands down one of my favorite places to eat in Yogyakarta. I’ve been here countless times and not once have I been disappointed. The food is consistently amazing. I’ve tried their risotto, pizza, pastas, tiramisu, and everything has been spot-on. The service is excellent: staff are attentive, friendly, and helpful without being overbearing. The ambience is also a major plus: calm, cozy, and perfect for those who prefer a more relaxed atmosphere away from the noise and crowds. Whether I’m visiting for brunch, dinner, or dessert, I always make time to come back here every time I’m in town. Highly recommended!

Great restaurant with many different options. Interesting but delicious flavour combinations (I ordered a salad with grilled chicken and apple and some other ingredients). Pizzas are also great. Nicely thin and crispy. Staff was friendly, helpful and quick. The feta cheese that was in the salad was sadly not the Greek feta I’m used to (it was strangely creamy and tasted a bit musty) but that definitely did not negatively impact the meal and experience at the restaurant. I would definitely go here again. The drinks were also very well done and they had lots of varieties of mocktails and soft drinks. Great place

We came here for dinner. Restaurant is very modern and perfect for a relaxed lunch or dinner. Menu is well balanced with both Indonesian cuisine and Western cuisine. Had a few beers and some wedges. As for the mains, I had steamed chicken with soup, my first time eating it and it was so tasty! Husband had a beef burger with chips which was as expected. Food and beverages were reasonably priced. Cleanliness was also on point. Waiters were so welcoming and nice! What was new to us was that orders are placed directly from your phone by scanning a QR code, super efficient! Highly recommended both for couples and for big tables.

A great place to chill and eat. The environment is breezy and nature-like. You could feel the silence of the forest, and also the sound of fishes swimming. The restaurant is spacious! It’s your kinda go to place for an event or big gathering. The atmosphere is traditional and tropical. Unfortunately the food was disappointing. It’s too sweet and not spicy enough for Indonesians imo. I wouldn’t go back for the food, but I might for the size of the restaurant as they can accommodate a lot of people.

Dining here makes you feel like royalty—good service and a lovely atmosphere! While the food is decent (nothing extraordinary), the overall experience and reasonable prices make it worth a visit. Perfect when you want to treat anyone without breaking the bank!

Service is good. Atmosphere was all good till we saw a big rat jumping and running across the dinning table of the hut where we were sitting. Food was below average. Not worth recommending. Prawn meat was dried. Squid was okay. Kangkong tasted bland. Ayam kecap manis was dried though the sauce was okay. Crab was really bad. Crab Meat was all mushy and tasteless not even sure was it spoilt or overcooked. Personally i do not recommend here. There are other much better food options out there

Food is below average. Squid salted egg is rookie level (disappointed) Gurame is average.. Iga bakar is okay. Honey prawn on stick is okay.. Sweet Please do not believe me. Pls try and rate it yourself. I am giving my honest feedback. Plus the price is steep probably given the fact that its one of the oldest restaurant in jogja and the castle setting is good.

Good food, good service, good place. The price maigh bit expensive, but it worth. The food taste always consistent in a good way. The place always clean. The fish therapy pond also plush point spot to wait while preparing the food.

The place is favorite my one, and food? Way too standard, meaning it's nothing special. My first time visit was amazing, we we're sitting in gazebo with Fish for to get relax view. Water was clean, but the second time it looks dirty. Well it's still worth to have an experience. Many Instagramworthy spots that we can take pictures. The staffs were friendly even though a bit slow. Prices were adorable inexpensive. They have big enough parking space, so it's really helpful in busy hours

Nestled in the heart of Yogyakarta, Gudeg Pawon is a culinary gem that has been delighting locals and visitors alike since 1958. This beloved eatery specializes in gudeg, a traditional dish made from young jackfruit simmered for hours in rich coconut milk and aromatic spices. Served alongside rice, chicken, and sambal, each plate offers a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors that truly captures the essence of Javanese cuisine.
Gudeg Pawon Selera Nusantara is an essential destination for those seeking an authentic Yogyakarta culinary experience at night. This spot offers the rare and memorable opportunity to dine directly in the kitchen, immersing visitors in a traditional and lively atmosphere. The food is not only flavorful but also enhanced by the unique "pawon" (live kitchen) concept. Perfect for those eager to savor authentic gudeg, it's best to arrive early to avoid long queues. Highly recommended dishes include the spicy krecek, bursting with rich and savory flavors, the tender and well-seasoned kampung chicken opor, and the tempe bacem, which perfectly rounds out the meal.

If you want an authentic Javanese culinary experience, then this is a must go. Gudeg is so well known as Jogja traditional food, made of young, unripe jackfruit cooked with coconut milk gives you a distinct and unique flavor. Some people associate it to be similar with a very tender beef. You can view the old kitchen they use to make this meal, nothing fancy, no aircon not even waiters 😊 but to see the uncle put gudeg, krecek, chicken/meat, egg and all the ingredients to your plate and hand over to your hand directly, well.... that's something very personal, folks 😍 I don't have to comment on the taste, it's 11 out of 10 for sure! And still... Quite affordable, this place got my 100% recommendation ; you will not only got the delicious meal but cool experience 🤩

Came back after a little over 10 years, they changed the "krecek" cause the last time they had smaller cuts. Taste doesn't change though, I like it so much! One of my favorites gudeg in Jogja. The used to open at 10 pm, and now they open earlier. Price for nasi gudeg sambal krecek and chicken with one bottled water cost only around IDR 36k. I like the very late night vibe though, cause Jogja during midnight is cold and it was so comfy when I entered the "pawon," cause the charcoal was still on fire. Will comeback with my husband! ☺️

Finally back again after 19 years ago for the first time eating here.As far as I remember, the kitchen hasn't changed much, only the access road to here is wider and brighter. There are no long queues like before, also the opening hours are earlier due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there is a rule that prohibits activities not to exceed 9 pm.What I like about the gudeg here is that the gori is not too sweet, wet and the sauce is thin. The opor chicken is tender with a savory sauce and the krecek is soft with large pieces. If you want it spicy, you can ask for cayenne pepper in the krecek sauce and then eat it with the side dishes. Ah, this Pawon gudeg is so delicious, I recommend it!Besides, it reminds me of the nostalgia of the old days when I ate with my ex-girlfriend who is now my wife.. Hehehehe..

Lucky when we arrived only 2 people queue. When we about to pay, lining up to the door. About 15people. Gudeg not too sweet. Ayam is chewy and nice. The kerecek is spicy and salty. For those who like salty version will like this. The ibu2 is super friendly. Just eat first and pay later. It looks like they dont write it down our order.( 5 of us) but apparently they have a book written all of the order.

You should come here really hungry because the portions are quite large. The flavor of the gudeg and krecek is rich and deeply infused. The stall opens at 5:30 p.m. Don’t be surprised by the price — for a small home-style eatery, it’s quite pricey 😬

Still one of the best Jogja yet not sweet taste of gudeg dishes, love it! now open earlier rathar than 10pm on wards!
