Fortress
Konda Reddy Fort, a historical marvel in Kurnool, offers sweeping views of the city from its top. Despite some areas being in ruins, it remains a significant landmark built by the rulers of the Vijayanagar Empire. The fort showcases the rich cultural heritage of the region and impresses history and architecture enthusiasts with its magnificence. While well-maintained, some parts require attention for preservation.
Konda Reddy Fort, also known as Konda Reddy Buruju, is a prominent historical landmark located in the heart of Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. It's a significant remnant of the old Kurnool fort and holds a rich history. The fort is famously named after Konda Reddy, a revolutionary figure and the last ruler of Alampur, who was imprisoned in this very tower by the Kurnool Nawab in the 17th century. Legend has it that he attempted to escape through its secret tunnels. His resistance and eventual martyrdom in the prison gave the tower its enduring name. The fort's origins date back to the 12th century, with significant construction and development attributed to the Vijayanagara rulers, particularly Achyuta Devarayalu.

This is not a kind of fort, it is just a small and old building, we can say. The property is very well maintained and there is no entry ticket to visit there. You can explore this fort within just 10 minutes. You can get a view of old Kurnool from the top of the fort. Indian flag 🇮🇳 is also there and that looks very good to see. If you are visiting Kurnool for a first time, you can give your 30 minutes to this place.
Prashant P — Google review
There is 2 levels for this fort which os very small to climb. One needs just 10 15 max to go around. There is no displays of its historic importance. If you are visiting kurnool and have nothing to do can visit this place

Historic and main attraction of Kurnool. I have been visiting for last 55 years. Now light and sound show every night. Food courts and promenade added. Busy and bustling area.

The historical place of Kurnool which is very famous for it's history and iconic construction. Don't miss to read it's details from wiki.....
Harsha S — Google review
Originating in the 12th century, it was initially constructed when Kurnool served as a key base near the Tungabhadra River crossing . Later expanded between 1530–1542 CE by Vijayanagara rulers, especially Achyuta Devaraya (successor of Krishnadevaraya) Named after Konda Reddy, the last local ruler of Alampur, who was allegedly imprisoned there by the Nawab of Kurnool and escaped through underground tunnels.

There are no noteworthy features found in Kondareddy Fort. The surrounding areas are waste. The food at the tiffin point is good.

This was built by ruler of Kandenavolu, now Kurnool, and presently a standing monumental evidence of that era. Presently this is maintained by archeology department. It is decorated with lights during night for beautiful and lovely appearance and attraction. A noting is displayed by archeology department about its history and significance. A worth historical monument to visit in Kurnool city.

Nestled in the heart of Kurnool, the Tomb of Abdul Wahab Khan stands as a testament to the city's rich historical tapestry. This remarkable structure, built in the 17th century, honors Abdul Wahab Khan, who was not only a military commander for the Bijapur army but also Kurnool's first Muslim ruler. Resembling Bijapur's iconic Gol Gumbaz, this mausoleum boasts two grand domes and intricate arches that showcase exquisite craftsmanship.
A beautiful tomb dedicated to Abdul Wahab Khan. There is a mosque as well on the back side. The tomb's architecture is very nice and it reflects Mughal style. 2nd popular place to visit in Kurnool after the fort.
Ravindra V — Google review
A good place to visit however the tomb doors are locked and no one can get in. No one available to explain the significance of this historic place. 30 minutes needed to complete the visit.

Fine example of Mughal era architecture. Labourers skill is marvelous, such an devotion to their work in making a monument that even after suffering many wear and tear of unpredictable harsh climate is standing intact. It is a fine example that history shall remember for many eras. Even inside the complex there is an mosque where hundreds of local residents throng to offer prayers five times a day. There is also moselium of an SYED saab, where lady devotees and children are seen in praying. An quiet place with beautiful garden and river flowing in the backyard makes it a place must visit for everyone with their family.

Nestled along the serene banks of the River Tungabhadra, the Dakshina Shirdi Sai Baba Temple stands as a revered pilgrimage site in Kurnool. This stunning star-shaped temple, with its traditional Shikhara crowning the structure, has been captivating visitors for over 70 years. The sanctum houses a striking white marble idol of Sai Baba, drawing devotees year-round, especially on bustling Thursdays when crowds swell to witness its beauty and tranquility.
This is called as Dakshina shiridi , one of the first temples of Sai Baba in south of india. Constructed at the banks of thungabadhra river in a star shaped structure. Very peaceful and calm, you literally feel sai baba presence during daily arathis.

This is a beautiful Saibaba temple in the shape of a star. Near this is Bala Saibaba temple as well. On the back side is the Tungabhadra river but not well maintained.

Visited the temple after a long time. My last visit was in 2011. When I was a child we used to visit the temple whenever we visited Kurnool for vacation. I remember taking a coracle ride after darshan. That was in the early 90s. Nostalgic moment for me whenever I visit Kurnool.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5/5 A truly divine and peaceful place! The Sai Baba Temple in Kurnool offers a spiritually uplifting experience. As soon as you enter the premises, you feel a deep sense of calm and serenity. The temple is beautifully maintained and the surroundings are very pleasant. One of the most special things here is the view of the Tungabhadra river—absolutely breathtaking! The temple is situated close to the riverbed, and from certain spots, you can enjoy a scenic, soul-soothing view that makes your visit even more memorable. Thursdays are especially sacred here. The Anna Prasadam (free meal) served is not just tasty but offered with devotion, making it feel even more special and divine. Whether you're seeking peace, blessings, or just a quiet moment by the river, this place has it all. A must-visit if you're in or around Kurnool! 🙏✨

🌟 Sri Dakshina Shirdi Sai Baba Temple 🌟 One of the most peaceful and spiritually uplifting places I have visited! Located right beside the scenic Tungabhadra River, this temple offers a calm breeze, beautiful view, and powerful devotional atmosphere.

Most famous devotional place in Kurnool, this temple is located on the banks of Tungabhadra river, Temple structure built in the star shape. Local residents says that this temple is built many years before the Shirdi temple was built, very cool and peaceful environment here, maybe because of the temple is built on the banks of river Tungabhadra. There is no time limit for darshan the template is open all days all time in day.

Biryani restaurant
Lotus Restaurant in Kurnool is a must-visit for food enthusiasts, offering a delightful selection of local dishes like natu kodi pulusu, fish roast, and biryani. The restaurant boasts a fantastic atmosphere that's perfect for family outings. While prices are slightly higher, the delectable North and South Indian cuisine makes it worth it. Vegetarians can savor Butter Naan and various curries while non-vegetarians can indulge in fish Tikka and Mandie.
Generous portion size and vast options with well-balanced flavours catering to different taste buds and dietary preferences. The place was easy to locate and would be ideal for families or larger groups.

The worst chicken Mandi I’ve ever had 🤢 — couldn’t even finish 1/4 of the small portion. To top it off, saw cockroaches 🪳 on the dining table and in the washing area. Good luck 👍 to those who eat here often!

One of the best places in Kurnool for food! The mutton biryani was absolutely delicious, and the butter chicken was also very good. The best part was the salad served with pineapple alongside the biryani — a really nice touch.

We were returning from Hyderabad to Bangalore, we entered the restaurant at its closing time at around 10:45 pm. But the food was freshly made and it was hot. The exterior of the building might not look pleasing, but as they say: Don't Judge a Book by its Cover. The ambience of the restaurant was wonderful. The washrooms were good. The staff was really generous and polite. Last but not the least, the taste was mind blowing. The meat of the Mandi was really tender. The staff guided us well to what to order in. Also, after getting some information about the restaurant, we got to know that it had received awards from eminent chefs like Chef Vikas Khanna and Chef Ranvir Brar. The price for the quantity which they served is really worth it. Our experience with Malik Lotus Restaurant was really good and hope to visit it again. Overall it's a 10/10.

The portion sizes were generous and perfectly reasonable. The staff were friendly and highly attentive throughout our visit. Our server ensured that our glasses and plates were always full. Given the upscale atmosphere, I fully expected a hefty bill, but I was surprised to find that it was quite affordable; an unbeatable value for both the quality and quantity offered. 😀

This restaurant stands out not only for its delectable breakfast offerings but also for its warm and inviting atmosphere. Why do we choose specific dining places? People often seek out better options for enjoying their meals. Unfortunately, the food served here was quite disappointing and didn't leave a positive impression. The only highlight was the waiter, who provided excellent service. While the ambiance was pleasant, it was surprising to find that in such a large restaurant, the restrooms were not well maintained, and the wash basins were less than satisfactory. The quality of the food really fell short of expectations. It feels like the restaurant exists just in name, lacking the essential qualities one would hope for in a dining experience. I found it to be quite a disappointing visit. I would caution anyone, regardless of where they’re from, to think twice before dining here. My advice would be to avoid this place entirely, as you might end up feeling let down. Until they invest in better chefs and improve their cooking, I would recommend saving your money, time, and taste buds for somewhere else.

I stayed at the Mourya Inn and had the pleasure of dining at their restaurant "Aahar Fine Dining" for breakfast. The food was absolutely amazing—delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. But what made the experience truly memorable was the hospitality. The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, serving every guest with genuine happiness and care. It’s not just a meal, it’s an experience of heartfelt service. A special mention to Mr. Chalapathi, who manages the restaurant with great dedication. He personally checks in with every guest to ensure they’re comfortable and well taken care of, which adds a very personal touch to the whole experience. If you’re visiting Kurnool, I highly recommend staying at Mourya Inn and dining here. You won’t be disappointed!

During my visit to Kurnool, I had the pleasure of dining at Aahar Fine Dining on 30th May 2025, and it was a delightful experience. Located in Kurnool (40-304, Risaldar Masjid Rd, Bhagya Nagar, River View Colony, Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh 518004), this vegetarian restaurant offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for a meal with family or friends. Ambiance & Cleanliness: The restaurant boasts a modern and clean ambiance, with comfortable seating arrangements that create a pleasant dining environment. The staff is attentive and ensures that guests have a comfortable experience. Food & Pricing: I opted for a Plain Dosa priced at ₹75 and a Medu Vada for ₹95. The total bill amounted to ₹179, including taxes, which was quite reasonable for the quality and portion sizes offered. Both dishes were freshly prepared and served hot, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to quality. Overall Experience: My visit to Aahar Fine Dining was thoroughly enjoyable. The combination of delicious food, clean environment, and excellent service makes it a standout choice for anyone in Kurnool. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

They had instrumental music playing and that was nice. Could lower the volume a bit. The air conditioning was excellent. The staff were extremely polite and went out of the way to please. That's a huge plus. The food though, was a disappointment. On the first evening, we had dum aloo - described as baby potatoes - but the dish was made of regular potatoes stuffed with something. On the second day, I asked for a cheese garlic naan. As with most places that I have experienced, they were stingy with cheese and it was barely noticeable in the naan. So I asked for a second portion, without garlic and specifically mentioning that I wanted it to be loaded with cheese. It was only marginally better than the first. All in all, the north indian food at least isn't all too great.

Breakfast restaurant
Ajantha Meals & Tiffin Center is a renowned eatery in Kurnool, known for its diverse tiffin options and satisfying meals. Located near the Old Bus Stand, it offers a wide range of breakfast items such as puri, dosa, idli, and vada. The afternoon meals consist of rice with dal, sambar, rasam, curry, and curd at an affordable price. The establishment is popular for its quick service and ample space for parking.
When you are looking for iconic tiffian and meals in kurnool Ajantha is the one. Many of old restaurants of kurnool disappeared and lot of new trend and city type of restaurants are picking up. But Ajantha stand seperate from them and provide the exact local experience of atmosphere, food and service. Tiffins are tasty and maintans good cleaning condition. My favourite is Pesarratru and masala dosa. Vada sambar is too tasty. Speciality is chappati and kurma. All other items are equally good in taste. If you VISIT Kurnool donot miss it.

Ajantha Meals & Tiffin Center is the oldest and one of the best tiffin centers in Kurnool. This pure vegetarian hotel has built a strong reputation for its tasty South Indian breakfast options. The must-try dishes here are the masala dosa, ravva dosa, and idli with sambar. Each dish is flavorful, and the quality has been consistent over the years. The service is simple but efficient, and the food is reasonably priced. If you're in Kurnool and craving a delicious, traditional South Indian breakfast, Ajantha is definitely worth a visit!
Akram M — Google review
tiffins ok but the service is not so good, if ask extra chutney or anyting, staff will feel like giving their property to us, and coming to meals, its so worst, going to have meals in Ajantha, before we have to think once. Actually in some hotels, mess, or restaurants, for 100/ means they will serve various curries pickles, papad and also starters, if any. But here first of all they won't serve enough lunch, with that amount they will serve plate meals only, and also only one Dal (Pappu) and one curry which we have to make some efforts to eat that curry. If any one afternoon, visited this restaurant with lot of hungry, its a biggest punishment to them. once upon a time without knowing this all, I blindly went to this restaurant and G-payed 100/- and while I sat, the staff told this situation. By knowing this Without eating food I getup and went out. seating and surroundings is so un hygenic. The manage in the counter will focus only on counting currency notes but not on customer satisfaction. They are doing bussiness with Hungerness of people, but they wont serve full satisfactionary meals to customers. So be aware and think once before entering into this Ajantha Restaurant
