Dal Lake is calm, peaceful, and much less crowded than expected, making it a beautiful spot to relax. The shikara rides are a great experience, but they’re quite costly—so make sure to bargain before booking .

Best place to explore and one of the most famous point in Srinagar. Preferred activity here is shikara ride. My suggestion would be go for 7 point Shikara ride to experience the pure atmosphere of Dal lake.

Dal Lake in Srinagar is a beautiful and serene place with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and vibrant shikaras. You’ll find snacks, floating tea–coffee stalls, barbecue chicken, and fresh fish being served on moving boats, adding to the charm. The lake is also lined with Kashmiri handicraft sellers, making the whole experience unforgettable.

Dal Lake, known as the "Jewel in the crown of Kashmir," is an urban lake in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, India. Surrounded by the majestic Pir Panjal mountains and lush Mughal gardens, the lake is a hub of vibrant local life and a top destination for tourist Key features: Shikara rides: A ride in one of the lake's iconic gondola-like wooden taxi boats is one of the most popular activities. Shikaras ferry people to houseboats and landmarks and serve as floating shops selling flowers, handicrafts, and vegetables. Houseboats: Staying on a traditional houseboat is a unique and sought-after experience. These elaborately carved wooden boats, many with luxurious amenities, originated during the British Raj, when foreigners were forbidden from owning land in Kashmir. Floating gardens and markets: Locally known as "Rad" in Kashmiri, floating gardens are crafted from interwoven vegetation and earth, and are used to grow crops like lotus flowers, melons, and vegetables. Early in the morning, vendors assemble in their shikaras for a floating market to sell their fresh produce. Char Chinar Island: This small, picturesque island on the lake is a famous landmark, named for the four Chinar trees planted at its corners. Mughal Gardens: Several historic Mughal-era gardens, including Shalimar Bagh and Nishat Bagh, line the eastern side of the lake. They offer stunning landscapes with terraced lawns, fountains, and flowerbeds.

Dal Lake is one of the most iconic and serene spots in Srinagar. An early morning walk along its banks offers a peaceful and rejuvenating experience. The gentle boat rides, floating restaurants, and leisurely strolls around the lake add to its charm, making every moment feel refreshing and memorable.
KIRAN K — Google review
Stayed one night on a houseboat in Srinagar and absolutely loved it. Waking up to the calm of Dal Lake with shikaras gliding past was unforgettable. Our hosts were warm and attentive, and the people around the lake were wonderful. The floating vendors—fresh vegetables, flowers, antiques—were a real highlight and never pushy. Meena Bazaar felt genuinely authentic, with quality items at fair prices. Everything felt safe, clean, and beautifully looked after. If you’re considering a houseboat stay, go for it—one night wasn’t enough. Highly recommended!

Pari Mahal – A Stunning Viewpoint! Pari Mahal is a beautiful historical garden with amazing views of Dal Lake and Srinagar city. The old Mughal architecture, peaceful surroundings, and fresh mountain air make it a perfect spot for photography and relaxation. Best time to visit is during sunset! Very clean and well-managed. A great place for history lovers and nature enthusiasts.

Pari Mahal refers to a very old Mughal built palace and the workmanship done in it. This is a palace built in the north-western parts of Srinagar. The view of Dal Lake and the city from Pari Mahal is very beautiful. Situated at a short distance from Dal Lake, it takes little time to reach this palace. There is a road to reach here and you can easily go here by vehicle. To enter inside you will have to buy a ticket first.

₹30/- entrance ticket to be paid in cash. Located atop a hill Has great views of Srinagar city. Heavy security of BSF here. Srinagar being city of gardens has ample of open space & green cover here. From atop u can see a golf course & an helipad. Definitely worth a visit. We visited in November & it was pretty cold

Pari Mahal is a beautiful and historic spot in Srinagar with stunning views of the city and Dal Lake. The gardens are well-maintained and the architecture is truly fascinating. It’s a great place to spend a few hours soaking in the history and the views. The only reason I’m giving it four stars instead of five is that it can get a bit crowded at times, but overall, it’s definitely worth a visit!

Visited Pari Mahal in Srinagar — a beautiful historical site offering one of the best panoramic views of Dal Lake and the city. The Mughal-era architecture and terraced gardens are well maintained, creating a peaceful and scenic atmosphere. It’s especially stunning around sunset when the valley glows golden. A great place for photography and a calm break from the city rush.

Hindu temple
Perched atop the scenic Shankaracharya hill, Shri Shankaracharya Temple is a significant pilgrimage site in India. Believed to have been constructed in 371 B.C., this ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, the deity of destruction and meditation. It is said that Adi Shankaracharya achieved spiritual enlightenment here before founding the four Hindu schools of Advaita philosophy. Visitors can climb 243 steps to reach the top and enjoy breathtaking views of the valley below.
Alright dude, so I just went to this Shri Shankaracharya temple in Srinagar, right? It's like, totally on top of this hill, you gotta climb a bunch of steps, felt like forever, man! But once you get to the top, the view is, like, whoa! You can see the whole Srinagar city and Dal Lake looking all shiny. The temple itself is pretty old school, you know? Like something out of history class. There's this Shiva lingam inside, and it felt kinda peaceful, even with all the people around. My parents were all into the prayers and stuff, but I was mostly digging the view and imagining what it must have been like back in the day. It's a bit of a trek to get up there, so wear your comfiest sneakers, for sure. And maybe bring some water, 'cause you'll get thirsty climbing all those stairs. Overall, it was a pretty cool experience, something different from the usual touristy stuff. Worth checking out if you're ever in Srinagar, ya know? Peace out!

This place is truly beautiful, where you can genuinely feel the presence of pure nature all around you. It’s a lovely spot that combines serenity with charm, making it a memorable experience for visitors. The temple here is not only a spiritual site but also carries with it many fascinating stories and legends, adding depth and cultural significance to the visit. One of the highlights is the breathtaking view of Srinagar that you get from this location. The elevated setting offers a panoramic perspective of the city, its lakes, and the surrounding mountains, making it one of the most scenic vantage points in the area.
Akarsh T — Google review
The Shankaracharya Temple in Srinagar is a revered ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, holding immense historical, spiritual, and architectural significance. It is considered one of the oldest temples in the region. The temple is named after Adi Shankaracharya, the influential Hindu saint who visited Kashmir in the 8th century and meditated here, further elevating its spiritual importance. This temple is a vital pilgrimage site for Hindus, particularly devotees of Lord Shiva, and is associated with the rich cultural heritage of Kashmir. Adi Shankaracharya's visit to the temple not only solidified its significance but also led to it being named after him. The temple's history reflects the resilience of faith and cultural heritage, withstanding the test of time through Mughal period. The Shankaracharya Temple is an architectural marvel with octagonal shape base, 20 feet tall, 15 feet each side. It’s around 1000 feet height from valley floor level with around 240 steps to climb up. The temple is also a significant cultural and historical landmark, attracting historians, scholars, poets, and philosophers. It represents a rich cultural and spiritual heritage, inspiring and attracting visitors worldwide. The Shankaracharya Temple's association with Adi Shankaracharya, who revived Hinduism in India, adds to its historical importance. The temple's serene atmosphere and panoramic views of Srinagar and Dal Lake make it an ideal place for meditation and contemplation. As a testament to its enduring legacy, the Shankaracharya Temple remains a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a deeper connection with India's ancient traditions. “Dharmarth” trust is managing this temple very well. Security personnel are very alert as well cooperative. One must visit it to experience “Peace of Mind”
Dharmesh D — Google review
Shri Shankaracharya Temple is one of the most serene and spiritually uplifting places I have visited. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple not only holds immense religious significance but also offers a glimpse into Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage. Reaching the temple involves a climb of around 300 steps, but the effort is more than worth it. As you ascend, you’re surrounded by silence and greenery, and once at the top, you’re rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view of Srinagar city, Dal Lake, and the surrounding mountains. The sense of peace and divinity inside the sanctum is deeply moving. The temple is well-maintained, with strict security arrangements, ensuring that the sanctity of the place is preserved. Photography is not allowed inside, which helps maintain the spiritual atmosphere. For devotees, it is a powerful site of worship, and for travelers, it is a must-visit landmark that combines spirituality, history, and natural beauty. Visiting Shri Shankaracharya Temple is not just a religious experience, but also a soulful retreat that leaves you with a lasting sense of calm.

Shankaracharya Temple in Srinagar, Kashmir, is a spiritual and historical gem perched on a hilltop overlooking Dal Lake. The climb to the temple is rewarding with stunning panoramic views of the city and mountains. The temple’s serene ambiance, ancient architecture, and religious significance make it a must-visit for devotees and travelers seeking peace and spirituality. 🙏🙏🙏

A sign of ancient belief system of Kashmir, the belief system which has been forcefully eradicated from the valley. There is reaction of extremism of any form and the price has to be paid now or later, the time is the most powerful. The temple is one of the most peaceful places in Srinagar, overlooking the whole valley and dal lake. I hope people get prosperous enough to learn to live in cultural harmony and maintain diversity of the land.

Peaceful place. Best oldest temple in Srinagar. Had to climb around 500 steps, which may take around 15-20 min. Beautiful scenery from the top.

A Hindu temple is situated at the top of the hill area in Srinagar Kashmir. There are many steps that you need to climb before you enter the temple. Since the area is at the top the view from here is amazing. The whole city is kinda visible from here. A must visit if you're in Srinagar Kashmir. Take blessings from God as well from here.

Nigeen Lake, nestled next to the famous Dal Lake in Srinagar, offers a serene and picturesque retreat for visitors. Surrounded by lush greenery and with a stunning mountain backdrop, this 1.7-mile-long lake is dotted with charming houseboats and inviting restaurants along its leafy shores. It provides a more secluded and intimate experience compared to Dal Lake, making it an ideal destination for those seeking tranquility amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Kashmir.
It is appreciated for the same reasons that Dal Lake was admired decades ago—calm, quiet, and serene. There aren’t many hawkers to disturb the peace you seek. The scenery is beautiful, and you also need to bargain less compared to Dal Lake. Just look at the images to see for yourself!

Went to this place last week with my family. It is very beautiful and clean lake in Srinagar. We decided to spend some time here away from the hustle and bustle of dal lake. The experience was worth it. The lake is really clean and offers stunning views at sunrise or sunset time. One can enjoy shikara ride in peace as there are very less hawkers on boat at this place which is unlike Dal lake. At last, we stayed in Anarkali house boat in this lake which was also very nice.

Nigeen Lake is a hidden gem in Srinagar—much quieter and cleaner than Dal Lake, which makes the experience even more special. The water is so calm and clear, and the view of the surrounding mountains is simply stunning. I stayed on a houseboat for a night and woke up to the most peaceful sunrise I’ve ever seen. The locals were warm and welcoming, and there were hardly any crowds, which made it feel more personal and authentic. If you're in Srinagar and looking for a serene escape, Nigeen Lake is a must-visit.

It is one of the prettiest and cleanest lake in Srinagar. We decided to spend some time here away from the hustle and bustle of dal lake. The experience was worth it. The lake is really clean and offers stunning views at sunrise or sunset time. It’s away from the traffic area, so you can enjoy your shikara ride in peace.

Nigeen lake is the smaller lake in Srinagar, it is connected to Dal Lake but unlike Dal lake there is less crowds here and atmosphere is tranquil. Still there are good amount of house boats in this lake and some shikaras as well. You can also take a shikara ride from Nigeen lake to Dal lake as well. For those like less crowds, Nigeen lake is a better choice.

A tranquil paradise offering a serene escape from the city's hustle. Encircled by majestic mountains and lush greenery, the lake's pristine waters invite visitors to unwind on shikara rides or simply soak in the scenic beauty. While some areas may witness tourist crowds, the overall ambiance remains peaceful and rejuvenating. Nigeen Lake is a must-visit destination for those seeking solace amidst nature's splendor.

Chashme Shahi Garden, also known as "the royal spring" in Urdu, is a picturesque Mughal garden located in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, India. Nestled amidst the stunning Zabarwan Mountain range, this three-terraced garden showcases Persian-influenced architecture and features natural spring water flowing through its landscaped terraces.
We had a very enjoyable experience at the garden, from what we could see they were generally well maintained. Although it was cloudy on the day so the views were not as good as they would normally be,it still looked beautiful in the misty weather. It being a Monday there were only a few visitors so it felt peaceful and serene.
Ciara C — Google review
Chashme Shahi is one of the beautiful Mughal gardens in Srinagar, famous for its natural spring. The fresh water here tastes amazing! 💧 Surrounded by greenery and Mughal-style design, it’s a peaceful and refreshing place to visit. Not too big but very charming, perfect for a short stop to enjoy nature and the cool spring water. A nice spot that adds to the charm of Srinagar’s gardens
Irfan A — Google review
The smallest of the three Mughal gardens of Srinagar, the Chasme Shahi is nestled in the Northern slopes of the Zabarwan range, up from the right bank of the Dal. The garden was constructed around an ancient spring with supposed medicinal properties, by Shah Jahan for his eldest son Dara Shikoh. The garden is laid in the 'chahar bagh' layout, beautifully terraced across the hills. The spring housed within a beautiful Mughal pavilion is the center piece, from where channels symmetrically divide the garden into parts. Pathways on either side of the channel lead one from the entrance gateway up to the pavilion. Trees of various species abound, with flowering plants arranged in beds. Tickets can be bought from near the entrance. Parking space outside the garden, is limited. *Tips: There are 3-4 stores near the entrance of the garden, selling local souvenirs, collectibles, etc. Although they are fixed price shops, their prices are very reasonable and fair (compared to similar shops lining the Dal Boulevard).
Rajsekhar C — Google review
• Natural spring water flows directly from the mountain into the garden — this is the origin of its name (“Royal Spring”). People drink from this spring — locals believe the water is pure and medicinal. • Terraced Mughal design — 3 levels of garden going up the hillside. As you climb each terrace, the view gets better. • Best view of Dal Lake from the upper terrace — excellent for photography. • Peaceful atmosphere compared to other Mughal gardens. Chashme Shahi doesn’t feel chaotic — it feels like a quiet royal retreat. Best Time to Visit • Morning: 9am – 11am Fresh light, fresh water, minimal crowd. • Sunset Hour: for photography (mountains + lake glow nicely)
Amrit D — Google review
Chasme shahi garden is a charming mughal garden. It is relatively small garden which one can cover within one hour. It is located on foothills of Zabarwan mountains & offers unobstructed views of mountains. It hosts the famous chinar trees. Few benches are provided to rest and admire the view of mountains. It has flower gardens which is quite a sight in April to June. Even in off season few flowers are present. A peaceful garden & good for photoshoot. In all gardens, you can take photo with kashmiri traditional dress & price is fixed as per JK tourism department. Many people will come to ask you to shoot reels. If you are not interested, it is really disturbing as they will ask all over the time.

Cheshmashahi Mughal Garden in Srinagar may not be as grand as Shalimar Bagh or Nishat Bagh, but its high-altitude location, natural spring, and pleasant weather make it a peaceful and scenic spot worth visiting. Detailed Review The Mughal Garden Cheshmashahi is one of the smaller yet historically significant gardens built during the Mughal era in Kashmir. Compared to the larger and more ornate Shalimar Bagh or Nishat Bagh, Cheshmashahi feels simpler and less elaborate in terms of layout. However, this modesty is balanced by its serene environment and unique setting. Perched on a higher altitude, the garden provides a refreshing escape from the city. The highlight here is its natural spring, which is said to have medicinal properties. This spring flows gracefully through the terraced levels of the garden, feeding fountains and streams that add charm to the landscape. The sound of trickling water combined with the greenery gives the garden a peaceful and soothing vibe. Another delight is the pleasant weather you get to enjoy at this elevation. With the Zabarwan mountains as a backdrop, blooming flowers, and neatly maintained lawns, the garden feels like a calm retreat where you can relax, take slow walks, and enjoy nature’s beauty. In conclusion, while Cheshmashahi may appear “okayish” when compared to other Mughal gardens, its location, atmosphere, and natural beauty make it a memorable place to visit in Srinagar.
Akarsh T — Google review

Mughal Darbar is a renowned restaurant in Srinagar, Kashmir, known for its traditional wazwan and Mughlai cuisine. It offers a wide variety of non-vegetarian dishes and delectable bakery items like cakes and pastries. The restaurant is popular among tourists and locals alike for its top-tier quality food at an affordable price. Located near the majestic Dal Lake, it's a must-visit destination to satisfy your culinary desires while exploring the beautiful Kashmir Valley.
The wazwan was absolutely delicious. The variety was extensive and quantity was more than enough for 2 people. Each dish was the tastiest I have tasted in Kashmir.

On the last day of our trip to Kashmir, We went to Mughal Darbar for authentic Kashmiri wazvaan food and it was an amazing experience. We ordered 1 dish for four persons at Rs.1200/-. It was more than enough quantity for us. It was delicious and very tasty food. All the items were very tasteful. Good experience.

One of the worst restaurants in Kashmir. Not good at all. We had originally ordered biryani, but the person taking the order recommended a combo instead, saying it would be better. However, the food turned out to be terrible, and the price was nearly three times higher. I definitely do not recommend this restaurant.

I recently visited mughlai darbar, and it was a delightful experience. The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, with attentive staff who made us feel comfortable right away. The food was fresh and flavorful which was a must-try. The service was a little slow during peak hours, but the quality of the food made up for it. Overall, a great place for a relaxed meal with family friends.
Aaradhya S — Google review
The restaurant is excellent and serves authentic Kashmiri cuisine. We ordered the region’s famous traditional feast — Wazwan. One plate was more than enough to serve around ten people! The food was incredibly delicious, though quite rich and heavy, as it includes generous portions of rice and meat. The platter featured a variety of dishes such as kebabs, lamb, and chicken delicacies like Rogan Josh and Goshtaba. It’s a true taste of Kashmir — you must try it at least once!
Shafiur R — Google review
Mughal Darbar Restaurant & Bakery Shop is a wonderful place to enjoy fresh and delicious food any time of the day. One of the best things about this restaurant is that you don’t have to wait for long — most of the dishes and bakery items are prepared early in the morning, so the service throughout the day is quick and efficient. It’s perfect for anyone who wants a fast yet tasty meal. The environment of the restaurant is quite pleasant, and since it’s located alongside the road, it’s easy to find and convenient for travelers. The restaurant also provides washroom facilities, which is a big plus for customers and tourists. The staff members are polite and humble, and their service is satisfactory. The owner and staff show great respect and care toward their customers, which makes the experience even better. When it comes to food, Mughal Darbar never compromises on quality. Every dish and bakery item is prepared with care and maintains a high standard. They don’t use cheap ingredients, and the taste is among the best around the Dubai One area. Tourists and locals both enjoy visiting here for its rich flavors and fresh items. However, a few improvements could make the place even better. The dining area could be renovated to give it a more comfortable and modern look. Some of the sofas are slightly broken, and the walls and glass areas need better cleaning and decoration. A few interior changes would give the restaurant a more positive and welcoming vibe. Overall, Mughal Darbar Restaurant & Bakery Shop is a great spot for anyone looking for quality food, quick service, and a friendly atmosphere. Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (5 out of 3 — good and satisfying experience!)
Talib R — Google review
This was my second trip to Srinagar this year, and last time I had tried a different restaurant for the Wazwaan. While that place came highly recommended, a local friend later told me I should’ve tried Mughal Darbar for a truly authentic experience—and I’m so glad I listened! I went in with high expectations, and Mughal Darbar absolutely did not disappoint. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful—they even stopped us from over-ordering! The pricing is excellent, considering the amount of food you get. We paid just ₹1200 for one Wazwaan, which three of us thoroughly enjoyed and even struggled to finish. Unlike some other places, there’s no rigid “one Wazwaan per person” system, which makes it much more convenient. The restaurant itself is spacious, with a traditional dastarkhwan seating area as well as tables and chairs for anyone who prefers that. Overall, an amazing experience—delicious food, wonderful service, and a truly authentic taste of Kashmir. I would 100% visit again!

“Wazwan khaana hai to Mughal Darbar jayiye” with this recommendation who can avoid the best place to be in for a taste and flavours of authentic Kashmiri cuisine. Situated just before the iconic Lal Chowk this restaurant has been serving people since 1972. Its rivals have opened up next door, but this is the sure place to be in. A warm welcome , antiquated decor, huge paintings showing the Mughal Emperor Jehangir and his beautiful Noorjehan and a wide variety of guests from all parts of the country makes it a must visit in Srinagar. The servers are more than that, they are your custodians, they serve, they guide on how to begin and continue the several courses offered and feel sad if the food cannot be finished. Yes, Kashmiris serve sumptuous meals with so much affection that it’s a challenge to keep the stomach just adequately full and yet not spoil the Kashmiri charm of hosting. Just move your eyes around, a mini India will come in your sight. And everyone is getting floored with the food and that extra touch of hospitality- the Wazwan Charm and for those who have travelled to Iran… it is a good place to re- live the Persian Charm- quite similar in taste, mannerisms and decor. The Mughal Darbar more than lives up to its reputation.

Ahdoos Restaurant is a warm and inviting dining spot located in Srinagar, known for its specialization in Kashmiri cuisine as well as Mughlai and Chinese dishes. With over a century of serving authentic Kashmiri delicacies, it has become a must-visit for both locals and tourists. The restaurant offers a cozy ambiance with traditional artwork adorning the walls and rustic aesthetics that provide a glimpse into Kashmiri culture.
Fine dining at its best. Ahdoos is 100 years old restaurant and maintains a good classy vibe. The Wazwan they serve is the gold standard i would say. Every dish we tried from kasmiri pulao to ferni was mouth watering. Staff is so cordial and engaging that you will feel right at home. When in Srinagar i would suggest just be here once. It's not very expensive as the food portions are really good.

The kebab was beautifully marinated and all the spices came through. Rice was fluffy and fragrant. All in all 10/10.

Had great food. Our host Zubeer was great. As soon as we sat on our table he came to us and asked what type of food we liked. He quickly suggested us the dishes and also suggested the quantity that we should get. We really liked the food and dishes he suggested. From price perspective it was not costly. Very nice place to have lunch or dinner.

Ahdoos is one of the most iconic and popular restaurants in Srinagar, and for good reason!! We visited in January as a group of 4, and had a lovely time trying both veg and non veg Wazwan platters, along with a few other dishes. The food was delicious despite not being served hot, and everything was rich in flavour and beautifully prepared. However, as tourists unfamiliar with how Wazwan is traditionally eaten, we would’ve appreciated a bit more guidance. We later learned from a local that there’s a specific order to eating the dishes.. something our server couldn’t explain. It would’ve added so much to the experience! The outdoor seating area looked lovely but was closed when we visited. Our server didn’t clarify why, but we assumed it was due to the winter chill. All in all, Ahdoos is absolutely worth a visit. the food lives up to the hype, but as someone who had heard so much about it, I went in with slightly higher expectations. Still, I’d happily return.

The food quality and taste are of a high standard. The service provided is notably excellent within the region. The ambiance is also favorable. However, the pricing structure is somewhat elevated. You should really work on your pricing.

Had authentic Kashmiri Wazwan at Ahdoos Restaurant, Srinagar — absolutely unforgettable! Delicious food, warm service, and a perfect atmosphere after exploring the city. A must-try when in Srinagar!

**Disappointing Experience at a Highly Rated Place** I had high expectations when visiting **Ahdoos Restaurant** in Srinagar, given its reputation for serving authentic Kashmiri cuisine. Unfortunately, the experience turned out to be very underwhelming. I ordered the **Kashmiri Wazwan**, but except for the **Tabak Maaz**, which was reasonably well-prepared, the rest of the dishes were a huge letdown. The flavors felt flat and the presentation lacked finesse. In particular, the **Nadur Yakhni** was especially disappointing — the lotus stems were soggy and lacked the characteristic crunch and taste this dish is known for. Despite the poor quality of food, I must mention that the service was courteous. **Manager Bilal Raina** was kind and respectful, which was the only positive aspect of our visit. Given the hype around Ahdoos, this experience was quite a letdown. Sadly, I don’t see myself returning here anytime soon.

Nestled in a charming European villa-style building, Shamyana Lodge & Restaurant offers comfortable accommodations and a delightful dining experience. The restaurant serves Asian cuisine and is highly recommended for lunch or dinner. For those seeking authentic Kashmiri flavors, the restaurant is known for its wazwan dishes. Additionally, visitors can explore nearby bakeries and food delivery options to savor a variety of culinary delights in the area.
Wazwan is Absolutely exceptional Each element of the Wazwan was prepared with care and authenticity. The flavors were rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced — a true celebration of Kashmiri cuisine. From the Rogan Josh to the Gushtaba, every dish was deeply satisfying and beautifully presented. It’s rare to find Wazwan executed with such finesse outside the Valley. Walnut Fudge is a delightful end to the meal. The texture was just right rich, nutty, and indulgent without being overly sweet. The quality of the walnuts and the smoothness of the fudge made it truly stand out. Breakfast System: Very well thought out and organized. The variety was impressive, catering to both Indian and continental preferences. Fresh ingredients, prompt service, and a calm ambiance made for a perfect start to the day. The tea/coffee service was also on point. Overall, a fine dining experience in every sense —elegant, flavorful, and thoughtfully curated. I will gladly recommend your restaurant to others and look forward to returning soon.

Lhasa is a renowned Tibetan restaurant located near Dal Lake in Srinagar, Kashmir. It offers a delightful dining experience with its lip-smacking chicken dishes and a variety of vegetarian options recommended by the chefs. The restaurant is set in a beautiful garden where guests can enjoy their meals amidst picturesque surroundings. Known for its lively atmosphere and delicious food, Lhasa has become one of the best dining spots in the area.
The restaurant is just walking distance from Dal Lake. It's a nice restaurant. We visited here during lunch. The food also delicious. We had our chicken soup for appetiser. Main dish with fried rice, fried noodle, fried chicken, vegetables, sweet and sour chicken. Our dessert is vanilla ice cream and coffee.

A good restaurant with a cozy ambiance. We visited them on a cold night in Srinagar. The place was temperature controlled so that made us even more comfortable. They serve good Chinese, Tibetan, Afghani and Indian cuisines. We had Veg Machow Soup, Veg Wonton and Chilli Garlic Noodles. The food was delicious and the portions are good too. The staff were courteous. A very kind gesture by the restaurant owner to have us dropped back to our hotel as it wouldn't stop raining.

The food was genuinely good — well-cooked, nicely presented, and full of flavor. Everything we tried tasted fresh and satisfying. Service was smooth and friendly too. Prices were reasonable for the quality. Definitely a place I’d consider coming back to!

Visited Lhasa, Kashmir recently. The ambiance was calm and welcoming, and the staff was warm and courteous, making the overall experience pleasant. However, the food was quite average and didn’t really stand out in taste or presentation. A good place to relax and enjoy the vibe, but the food could be improved.

I recently visited Lhasa Hotel. I ordered the mutton kebab, which was good though I felt a hint of soya The Lhasa Special Soup was truly excellent and a definite must try The Schezwan fried rice however felt a bit undercooked The butter chicken with naan was good and the overall environment of the hotel was pleasant👍

This place is near Dal lake ghat number 9. Ambience of the place is quite good and they have both indoor and outdoor seating area. outdoor seating area has garden. The service was quick for us. They have multiple cuisine options Kashmiri, Chinese, Tandoori. We have ordered Chinese Egg fried rice, Panner chilli dry and Chicken chilli gravy. Egg rice was sufficient for 2 people. Their Kashmiri food is also recommended. We spent 1200 for 2 people.

Nestled in the heart of Srinagar at Lal Chowk, Alka Salka Restaurant is a culinary gem that beckons food enthusiasts, especially those with a penchant for Wazwan cuisine. This charming eatery boasts an inviting ambiance adorned with stunning decor and exudes warmth through its exceptional hospitality. Diners can indulge in signature dishes like the rich Rogan Josh, aromatic Modur Pulao, and succulent Gushtaba.
Nice family option in the midst of cluster cafes and restaurants. Oriental food was good. Good spacious tables.

The service was extremely slow — waited nearly an hour before any food arrived. Staff seemed disorganized, and it was frustrating trying to get their attention. Definitely not ideal if you’re on a schedule.

I visited this place today after two years. It used to be our favorite spot, but the experience this time was disappointing. From placing the order to the delayed service with each dish and the overall billing process, it didn’t feel worth it.

Had a meal here, and honestly, it was a letdown. The food was okay—nothing exceptional—but the service was terrible. The staff seemed uninterested, and the overall ambience was dull and unimpressive The worst part? After finishing our meal, there was no water available at the handwash station. How does a restaurant run out of water? That’s basic hygiene! And to top it all off, we ordered boneless butter chicken, but instead of actual boneless pieces, they just removed the bones from regular chicken and served it. That’s not what we paid for! Absolutely disappointed and won’t be visiting again. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

The food served here is good but the portions are little lesser. Rates are economical. The ambiance is not so happening as expected. The staff is cordial and warm. They know their job very well. You can enjoy a good meal if you can overlook the other things.

I'm not sure why this restaurant is rated only 3.6 as of today. This place had better service, staff and food than other famous restaurants in the locality. Their Mutton Burra is simply the best dish I've ever had. For mains we had Chicken Pudhina which was another 5/5 dish.
