The LaLiT Grand Palace Srinagar is a luxurious hotel nestled in the heart of Kashmir, offering breathtaking views of the Himalayan Ranges and Dal Lake. Originally a royal residence dating back to 1910, this elegant hotel has hosted diplomatic visits, delegations, and celebrities.
I had the opportunity to stay at The Lalit Grand Palace for three days in Aug due to an emergency. I would like to sincerely thank the hotel management for their outstanding support during my stay, especially Ms. Sheleela Kour, the manager, whose help and cooperation were truly commendable. The staff was professional, caring, and attentive to every detail. The food was extremely hygienic and well-prepared, which made my stay even more comfortable. The overall environment of the hotel was calm, clean, and very well maintained. I am truly grateful for the hospitality and support I received and highly recommend The Lalit Grand Palace for anyone looking for a peaceful and well-managed place to stay.......

Spectacular beautiful palace hotel, surprisingly in amazing condition the Gem of Srinagar one of the best hotels available filled with treasures of the maharaja. Surrounded by beautiful gardens,a must to visit even if you’re not staying here. The restaurant serves the most amazing delicious Indian and local Kashmiri cuisines services’s absolutely amazing friendly and hospitable staff Highly recommend, unfortunately the only drawback is Srinagar’s and the rest of Kashmir is under Marshall military law surrounded by heavy artillery vehicles with big guns filled with police carrying AK 47 rifles, everywhere feels like mini Palestine🇵🇸 sadly, we already paid in advance for our total stay and checked out the night before our departure date unfortunately we were shocked when the reception gave us the bill with extra amount of 21,000 Indian rupees, as you are checking the bill they increased the price of the rooms which is unheard of, and they are forcing us to pay it and even close the gates for the hotel so we could not leave without paying the wrongly added extra amount, he had a flight to catch and they delayed us by 45 minutes and in the end, the GM came and told us that we will split the difference in the amount as it was a mistake from their side, which we did not agree because it was cheating, in the end I had to threaten them that this will go on all social media platforms, and it will affect adversely to your sales & and reputation, of your hotel, then the GM decided to let us go.

The LaLiT Grand Palace offers a truly royal dining experience set against the backdrop of breathtaking gardens and the majestic Dal Lake. The atmosphere is grand, peaceful, and rich with heritage — perfect for a serene and elegant meal. The food is well-prepared, with a good mix of traditional Kashmiri and multi-cuisine options. Flavors are subtle, portions are generous, and presentation is top-notch. The service is equally impressive — professional, courteous, and attentive without being overbearing. Ideal for those who want to enjoy good food in a luxurious and historic setting. A must-visit for anyone looking to pair fine dining with scenic beauty.

Had lunch here—what a stunning property! The views are absolutely breathtaking, and the ambience is super relaxing. The food was delicious. Service was warm and attentive without being overbearing. Definitely a memorable experience. Perfect place to unwind and enjoy a great meal with a nice view. Would love to visit again

Absolutely rubbish. They do not cater for your requirements. We requested a room close to the reception as 3 months in advance as I have had surgery on both my knee's. They gave us a room which was the furtherest from the reception. We left the room for breakfast at 9am and the room had not been cleaned at 2.45 pm. 6 hours were not enough to clean the room. Totally disappointed with a hotel of this caliber.
Neeta M — Google review
I wanna point out something which I have never experienced being someone who works in Dubai and have travelled more than 10 countries. The respect and humility I experience and receive once I leave India, is gracious and modest. Then I come to think of it, why I felt discriminated or an outsider on my own beloved land when we Kashmiris are the most hospitable in nature, while I’ve met and worked w ppl of multiple nationalities. The whole point is the security management in Lalit are Indians and not Kashmiris. And they try their level best to make it miserable for us. (Because they do not respect their religion we follow or how beautiful we look). I had my lunch and paid and moved around to take a stroll on which the guard made multiple excuses on how not doing anything on the property was illicit. And three times, three guards were sent to me to convey the same message. And eventually I had to leave because I didn’t felt a speck of hostility or even welcomed and not just that the officer plotted against me to make me leave. Lastly, I see it as bias, prejudice and discrimination against a particular race (Kashmiris) on our own land. Never felt as an outsider on my own land but thanks to Lalit and the most pathetic and hostile service I have ever experienced and don’t even get me started on food quality.
Mehaq M — Google review
We recently visited The LaLiT Grand Palace for an Eid celebration, expecting a relaxing and luxurious time. Unfortunately, the experience left us extremely disappointed. To begin with, the hotel seemed to be under partial renovation or non-functional, with no indoor seating available. We were informed that the only option was to sit outdoors—where we had to deal with a heavy mosquito presence. Not at all what you'd expect from a place of this reputation and price tag. What shocked us the most was the pricing. We were quoted ₹5000 per person just for seating—yes, literally just to sit. For four people, that’s ₹20,000, without having ordered a single thing. A simple cup of tea or cold coffee was quoted at ₹1000+, and that’s before GST and service charges. No clarity, no menu—just vague, inflated pricing. With the environment being uncomfortable and the costs unjustified, we had no choice but to leave without ordering anything. For a 5-star heritage hotel, the management and hospitality were far from welcoming. We came looking for an experience, not just an overpriced chair surrounded by mosquitoes. Hope the management seriously considers making changes because this is not the level of service anyone expects from The LaLiT brand.
Aisha Y — Google review
I’ve been working in the photography industry for almost 12 years, and yesterday’s experience at this property was extremely disappointing. When we arrived for an outdoor shoot, a staff member near the parking area told us (shoot nahe kar sakte ho) how rude, unprofessional and batameez insaan because the park was closed due to weather. Later, at the reception, we were told that we could shoot only if we paid 25,000 per hour. This was contradictory, unprofessional, and felt like we were being misled simply because the bride and groom were dressed well. And the staff was talking shit on walkie talkie. Back in 2017–2018, this property was a welcoming place with polite staff and open opportunities for photography. Sadly, things have completely changed the current staff is unprofessional and inconsistent with their statements. Policies may change, but professionalism and honesty should not. I would strongly suggest the management train their staff to be clear, consistent, and transparent with visitors. As professional photographers with almost 5,00,000 followers on Instagram, we share our experiences widely. I truly hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works towards improving their staff training and guest experience.

Bodies of Water
Dal Lake is a popular recreational spot known for its vibrant houseboats, scenic gardens, and leisurely boat rides. Visitors can enjoy exciting tours and cruises on the picturesque lake, with options for overnight stays on houseboats or sightseeing tours around Srinagar. Various tour packages offer hassle-free booking of accommodations in Srinagar hotels, ensuring a comfortable and memorable stay. Additionally, nearby attractions such as Nehru Park and Kathi Darwaza are easily accessible from the lake area.
Dal Lake, often referred to as the jewel of Srinagar, is a sprawling urban lake located in the heart of Kashmir, India. This iconic water body spans over 18 square kms and is integral to the tourism and economy of the region. The lake's intricate network of waterways, floating gardens, and houseboats are framed by the majestic Himalayas, providing a picturesque setting. Sikhara ride is mandatory. Take 3-4 hours ride to visit Char Chinar Bag. Dal lake really beautiful also do a Sikara Ride at evening. N.B. - Know the price before buying. I ❤️ Dal Lake
SAIKAT M — Google review
Dal Lake is calm, peaceful, and much less crowded than expected, making it a beautiful spot to relax. The shikara rides are a great experience, but they’re quite costly—so make sure to bargain before booking .
Pratima K — Google review
Best place to explore and one of the most famous point in Srinagar. Preferred activity here is shikara ride. My suggestion would be go for 7 point Shikara ride to experience the pure atmosphere of Dal lake.
Ebrahim P — Google review
Dal lake Srinagar is absolutely the jewel in the crown of Kashmir. It is a beautiful lake with beautiful views, surrounding hills, luxurious houseboats, smooth sailing shikara boats, floating shops and delicious kahwa served with Kashmiri hospitality
SANTOSHKUMAR G — Google review
Dal Lake, known as the "Jewel in the crown of Kashmir," is an urban lake in Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, India. Surrounded by the majestic Pir Panjal mountains and lush Mughal gardens, the lake is a hub of vibrant local life and a top destination for tourist Key features: Shikara rides: A ride in one of the lake's iconic gondola-like wooden taxi boats is one of the most popular activities. Shikaras ferry people to houseboats and landmarks and serve as floating shops selling flowers, handicrafts, and vegetables. Houseboats: Staying on a traditional houseboat is a unique and sought-after experience. These elaborately carved wooden boats, many with luxurious amenities, originated during the British Raj, when foreigners were forbidden from owning land in Kashmir. Floating gardens and markets: Locally known as "Rad" in Kashmiri, floating gardens are crafted from interwoven vegetation and earth, and are used to grow crops like lotus flowers, melons, and vegetables. Early in the morning, vendors assemble in their shikaras for a floating market to sell their fresh produce. Char Chinar Island: This small, picturesque island on the lake is a famous landmark, named for the four Chinar trees planted at its corners. Mughal Gardens: Several historic Mughal-era gardens, including Shalimar Bagh and Nishat Bagh, line the eastern side of the lake. They offer stunning landscapes with terraced lawns, fountains, and flowerbeds.
ROHITH M — Google review
Dal Lake is one of the most iconic and serene spots in Srinagar. An early morning walk along its banks offers a peaceful and rejuvenating experience. The gentle boat rides, floating restaurants, and leisurely strolls around the lake add to its charm, making every moment feel refreshing and memorable.

Travel R — Google review
Stayed one night on a houseboat in Srinagar and absolutely loved it. Waking up to the calm of Dal Lake with shikaras gliding past was unforgettable. Our hosts were warm and attentive, and the people around the lake were wonderful. The floating vendors—fresh vegetables, flowers, antiques—were a real highlight and never pushy. Meena Bazaar felt genuinely authentic, with quality items at fair prices. Everything felt safe, clean, and beautifully looked after. If you’re considering a houseboat stay, go for it—one night wasn’t enough. Highly recommended!

Absolutely amazing experience at Taj Vivanta Srinagar! I visited for breakfast and everything was just perfect — the food was delicious, with a great variety and rich flavors that truly stood out. The service was outstanding — warm, attentive, and professional. And the view… simply breathtaking! Sitting there, enjoying a great meal with that serene landscape in front of me, was an unforgettable start to the day. Highly recommended!

The check-in process was seamless and welcoming, setting the tone for our entire visit. Our room was not just a room; it was a luxurious sanctuary. Impeccably clean, beautifully designed, and offering breathtaking views Every single member of staff, from the concierge to the housekeeping team, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. They were genuinely warm, highly professional, and anticipated our needs before we even had to ask. The dining experiences were equally superb, with exquisite cuisine and impeccable service at every meal.

I have been to so many water bodies all around the world but The Dal is unique by its circumference, habitat, flora and fauna and atmosphere around. The calmness, the folks and serenity are well defined here. No chaos, no Pollution and no haste. The background is laced with the high reach mountains. Sun set here is always unique and depicts so many feelings to look within.
Gurdeesh S — Google review
One of the most beautiful properties in the world. It has 270 degree view. Beautiful rooms with lawn or balcony. Nice pool as well. One can see the full glory of the Dal lake. Just mesmerising
Abir L — Google review
We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in September end . The location is too good and the property is well maintained. On arrival the outer facade doesn’t look impressive, but as you enter the building, its well done up and looks luxurious. Lots of flowers everywhere. The hotel is situated at the top of a hill and it overlooks the whole city and the Dal Lake. Our room was located on the first floor and had a balcony overlooking the lake. The trees did obstruct the view and they should have taken care to trim them a bit for a better view. Now coming to the food, their breakfast buffet is very lavish and everything was tasty. The service was always prompt and the servers - Babul Sangma , Leisle , Achan, Jojo, Pabon& Joshim were very polite and courteous. Attended to all our needs at the restaurant during breakfast. Now coming to dinner. We ordered dinner in our room on two occasions but on one night dinner, the food was very tasteless. Pizza had too much cheese and too much chicken and no balance. The Thai curry we ordered had too much prawns and no gravy. The rice was undercooked. Coming to the good part, we were warmly welcomed into the hotel by Fozia, she was courteous and she even upgraded our room. When she came to know that it was my husband’s birthday she send up a cake and she decorated our room with balloons and streamers, which was a lovely gesture. Overall our stay was very nice. I would have given 5 stars but for our one bad dine in dinner.
Nima D — Google review
Taj Dal View is a truly wonderful property offering breathtaking views of Dal Lake. Rooms on the first floor are especially recommended for the best panoramas. The staff went out of their way to make our stay memorable, graciously arranging complimentary birthday decorations and ensuring every detail was taken care of. Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of tasty options, and overall hospitality was warm and attentive. The only small area of improvement would be the internet connectivity, which was slightly erratic at times. Otherwise, an exceptional and memorable experience.
Pankaj G — Google review
We had a wonderful time at Taj Dal View Hotel, Srinagar. As the name suggests, the view was absolutely breathtaking! The rooms were very comfortable, spotless, and well, equipped with tea and coffee stations. The food was delicious, couldn’t have asked for anything better. The staff were extremely friendly, polite, and accommodating, making our stay truly memorable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Srinagar!
Nutan B — Google review
My stay at Taj Srinagar was pleasant, but I was disappointed with a few things. The interior did not meet the expected Taj quality standards, the food quality was below average, and I was not provided access to the swimming pool. Additionally, the spa therapist was unavailable during my stay. I hope these areas are improved to match the reputation of the Taj brand.

Located in central Srinagar, the Four Points by Sheraton offers warm and polished rooms and suites with modern amenities. The hotel features a restaurant, lounge, gym, free Wi-Fi, and a children's playroom. With outstanding city views and proximity to attractions like Lal Chowk and Dal Lake, it's suitable for both family vacations and business retreats. Guests can enjoy local and international cuisines at the all-day diner or indulge in activities such as snorkeling and golf.
I stayed at Sheraton Srinagar while attending a wedding, and my experience was absolutely wonderful. The hotel itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and truly gives a sense of comfort and warmth. A special mention to Chef Vinod, who not only prepared delicious meals but went above and beyond by packing extra food for us when we were travelling outside. He is an amazing chef and an even more amazing person — his thoughtfulness really touched us. The entire staff was extremely polite, helpful, and attentive throughout our stay. I also had a great experience with one of the reception staff members who offered me a better price than what was available on Booking.com — such a refreshing gesture of honesty and customer care. Overall, Sheraton Srinagar exceeded expectations in every way. If you are visiting Srinagar, this is truly a must-stay hotel.

Excellent Property. Stayed here for 2 night, was upgraded to a better room. The staff is super courteous, rooms are very clean. The hotel does not have an outdoor space but makes up as it is on the main highway. The Breakfast menu is very limited and caters to mainly south Indian which is the only drawback.
Adhiraj B — Google review
I stayed with my family at Four Points by Sheraton Srinagar for 4 nights and have a mixed review about the property. The hotel boasts of big spacious rooms with a great view and the loction is good. However, the quality and the speed of the service can certainly be improved - our experience right from the check-in (mixed up with another family) to the check out (miscalculation in the bills) was not so nice, further, the room service requests often required inordinate delay. If the management takes care of the quality of the service, this could turn out to be an amazing place to stay.

Horrible experience. We 03 people stayed in room no 3004 for 2 nights on 22nd and 23rd June 2025 everything was good there but my daughter had a horrible experience there after having breakfast when she came to the room for some reason at that time the person present in the room for makeup asked her that Do you have an Instagram account . How one servant can dare ,although 24th morning before checkout I scolded him for the same and he apologized for his behavior but I can't forget this and will never suggest ladies or girls to stay there without family friends. I would request hotel management to personally look into the matter as cameras are everywhere in there property and they can easily find it who went there inside the room on 23rd morning for room makeup. Thank God room door was opened

I would say this hotel is very very nice if you want to stay at walking distance to mall road and don’t want to spend a lot. It doesn have lake view, but the room , service and the property was really nice. We needed two rooms which they gave us the attached option and it was very good. Rooms are big and clean. Parking is available. Chai and butter toast was good. Was disappointed with food (dinner) which we ordered in room and it was tasteless. Other than that everything is nice about this hotelS

Little far from the city and near to raw nature. Middle of mountains with typical Srinagar curvy roads. Spread across in lavish gardens with a luxury touch. We stayed in their suits … so worth it. Big enough and breathtaking views. After all your day tour in Srinagar, resting there will be damn peaceful. You can feel and listen the winds and Pine 🌲 trees sounds. Food is good with bunch of verities and lavish indoor and outdoor services.

The staff is extremely helpful, caring and kind. One family member got severely ill and was hospitalised, they used to send a person to take care sit and look over him everyday. Always asking about his health, feedback for their service and prompt service. Thank you for your kindness!

Rooms are good but need a lot of renovation, I love the staff, services and atmosphere here. Location isn’t so bad, but room standards should be improved.
Ajay J — Google review
I recently stayed at this resort, and while the food was delicious and the rooms were comfortable and well-maintained, my overall experience was disappointing due to the staff’s behavior. The activities offered were fun and engaging, making the stay enjoyable in terms of entertainment. However, I couldn’t ignore the discrimination I felt in how the staff treated different guests. It was disheartening to experience such bias in a place that claims to offer a premium experience. Moreover, the staff was openly involved in backbiting, which is highly unprofessional. For a luxury resort, I expected better service and trained staff who maintain a respectful environment. The place itself has great potential, but I sincerely hope management addresses these issues to improve the guest experience.

The on-site restaurant serves a variety of cuisines while the citrus cafe offers delectable Indian, American, European, and pan-Asian dishes.
We stayed at Lemon Tree Hotel in Srinagar for three days, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality extended to us was warm, professional, and thoughtful. Every member of the staff was courteous and attentive, always ready to assist with a genuine willingness to make our stay comfortable. The ambience of the hotel was serene and elegant, offering a perfect blend of modern comfort and Kashmiri charm. The rooms were impeccably maintained, and the overall hygiene standards across the property—from the lobby to the dining area—were excellent, which gave us a great sense of ease and comfort throughout our stay. The cuisine was another highlight. The variety and quality of food served, especially the regional dishes, were truly delightful. A special mention must go to Altaf from the restaurant staff, who was absolutely par excellence. His attention to detail, graceful service, and warm, respectful demeanor made every meal feel special. The hotel is good. But because of recent incident in Srinagar, the hotel was fully empty. Only four rooms were occupied. And so in place of breakfast buffet, the food was served as per menu which had little options. The location is good. The rooms were clean. The staff were good and polite. The hotel was beautiful and giving a haveli kind of vibe. The view from room was beautiful. The rooms were good in size too. The washroom was ok. The food quality was average. Everything about this hotel is good. Only improvement which is required is in the food quality.

We had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable stay paired with truly exceptional service. The hotel restaurant served absolutely delicious meals—beautifully presented, full of flavor, and with a variety of options to choose from. We will definitely be returning!

Our stay at the hotel was truly wonderful. The room was very spacious, neat, and spotlessly clean, which made it extremely comfortable. The breakfast buffet was excellent, with a wide variety of options, and whatever you needed was served with great care. A special thanks to Fayaaz and Sahil along with their team, who served everything with warmth and kindness. Their hospitality really made our experience memorable. The entire staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. One small point worth mentioning – not related to the hotel team but to Lemon Tree management – is regarding the internet service. The basic internet provided in rooms is quite slow, and guests are asked to pay extra for high-speed internet. In today’s time, fast internet should be a basic amenity, and this policy feels like a poor management decision. Overall, the team here gave us a wonderful experience, and we would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

The restaurant staff Danish, Imtiaz, Sahil, Kayum, Fayaz- Supervisor and Rashik-Manager offered execellent service and took care of us. The service was exceptional. This lake offers a much better stay than Dal Lake, as it’s less crowded and more peaceful. We had a great overall experience—excellent service and good food. However, the khichdi we ordered didn’t quite meet expectations. On the other hand, breakfast was fantastic. The service team and the owner were very friendly and hospitable.

When I entered the Houseboat I thought we made a wrong decision but after few hours and after settling I was very comfortable. I think it was the best decision and we thoroughly enjoyed the place. Will visit again with children next time. Best is to go in off season as we did in the first week of September. Not crowded. I will like to suggest to the owners who were extremely friendly to improve further on service, food(should have a menu card) and water pressure in the toilet. Overall highly recommended

I visited Mirage hotel in 2016, I stayed for 5 days checked out from hotel and went to stay in shikari for 1 day in Dal lake. I encountered a severe pain of stone and didn't knew anyone except Zulfikar Ali from Mirage. When asked for help he immediately sent the car for pick up and took me to hospital then next day also dropped me and my wife at the airport. In an unknown city some one helping you in that manner when you don't know anyone is really beyond words.

The hotel was good. Their staff was so humble and polite. I missed handing over my keys for room cleaning but they arranged someone to clean my washroom at 9pm. Room were cozy, big (bigger than 4 star properties) along with the bathroom. The only issue I had was that their kitchen is far from their restaurant. So it was taking them more than 10 min to refill any item getting over in buffet during breakfast. Breakfast was tasty though.

Nigeen Lake, nestled next to the famous Dal Lake in Srinagar, offers a serene and picturesque retreat for visitors. Surrounded by lush greenery and with a stunning mountain backdrop, this 1.7-mile-long lake is dotted with charming houseboats and inviting restaurants along its leafy shores. It provides a more secluded and intimate experience compared to Dal Lake, making it an ideal destination for those seeking tranquility amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Kashmir.
It is appreciated for the same reasons that Dal Lake was admired decades ago—calm, quiet, and serene. There aren’t many hawkers to disturb the peace you seek. The scenery is beautiful, and you also need to bargain less compared to Dal Lake. Just look at the images to see for yourself!

Went to this place last week with my family. It is very beautiful and clean lake in Srinagar. We decided to spend some time here away from the hustle and bustle of dal lake. The experience was worth it. The lake is really clean and offers stunning views at sunrise or sunset time. One can enjoy shikara ride in peace as there are very less hawkers on boat at this place which is unlike Dal lake. At last, we stayed in Anarkali house boat in this lake which was also very nice.

Nigeen Lake is a hidden gem in Srinagar—much quieter and cleaner than Dal Lake, which makes the experience even more special. The water is so calm and clear, and the view of the surrounding mountains is simply stunning. I stayed on a houseboat for a night and woke up to the most peaceful sunrise I’ve ever seen. The locals were warm and welcoming, and there were hardly any crowds, which made it feel more personal and authentic. If you're in Srinagar and looking for a serene escape, Nigeen Lake is a must-visit.

It is one of the prettiest and cleanest lake in Srinagar. We decided to spend some time here away from the hustle and bustle of dal lake. The experience was worth it. The lake is really clean and offers stunning views at sunrise or sunset time. It’s away from the traffic area, so you can enjoy your shikara ride in peace.
Gourav Y — Google review
Nigeen lake is the smaller lake in Srinagar, it is connected to Dal Lake but unlike Dal lake there is less crowds here and atmosphere is tranquil. Still there are good amount of house boats in this lake and some shikaras as well. You can also take a shikara ride from Nigeen lake to Dal lake as well. For those like less crowds, Nigeen lake is a better choice.
Sajeev T — Google review
A tranquil paradise offering a serene escape from the city's hustle. Encircled by majestic mountains and lush greenery, the lake's pristine waters invite visitors to unwind on shikara rides or simply soak in the scenic beauty. While some areas may witness tourist crowds, the overall ambiance remains peaceful and rejuvenating. Nigeen Lake is a must-visit destination for those seeking solace amidst nature's splendor.

Ajay B — Google review
Shalimar Garden Shalimar Bagh is a Mughal garden in Srinagar, linked through a channel to the northeast of Dal Lake, on its right bank located on the outskirts of Srinagar city in Jammu and Kashmir, India. Its other names are Shalimar Garden, Shalimar Bagh, Farah Baksh and Faiz Baksh, and the other famous shore line garden in the vicinity is Nishat Bagh. The Bagh was built by Mughal Emperor Jahangir for his wife Noor Jahan, in 1619. The Bagh is considered the high point of Mughal horticulture. It is now a public park. This time it’s also called as crown of Srinagar. History Emperor Jahangir built his celebrated Shalimar Bagh, his dream project to please his queen. He enlarged the ancient garden in 1619 into a royal garden and called it ‘Farah Baksh’ (‘the delightful’). He built it for his wife Nur Jahan (‘light of the world’). In 1630, under Emperor Shah Jahan’s orders, Zafar Khan the governor of Kashmir extended it. He named it ‘Faiz Baksh’ (‘the bountiful’). It then became a pleasure place for the Pathan and Sikh governors who followed Zafar Khan. During the rule of Maharaja Ranjit Singh the marble pavilion was the guest house for European visitors. Electrification of the premises was done during Maharaja Hari Singh’s rule. Thus, over the years, the garden was extended and improved by many rulers and called by different names, but the most popular name ‘Shalimar Bagh’ continues to this day. During the Mughal period in particular, Emperor Jahangir and his wife Nur Jahan were so enamoured of Kashmir that during summer they moved to Srinagar with their full court entourage from Delhi at least 13 times. Shalimar Bagh was their imperial summer residence and the Royal Court. They crossed the arduous snowy passes of the Pir Panjal mountain range on elephants to reach Srinagar Layout The layout of the garden is an adaptation of another Islamic garden layout known as the Persian gardens. This garden built on a flat land on a square plan with four radiating arms from a central location as the water source. It needed to be modified to suit the hilly terrain and availability of a well, which could be diverted from a higher elevation to the planned gardens. Modifications involved the main channel running through the garden axially from top to the lowest point. This central channel, known as the Shah Nahar, is the main axis of the garden. It runs through three terraces. This layout left out the radial arms and the shape became rectangular, instead of a square plan of the Chahar Bagh. The garden, as finally laid out, covers an area of 12.4 hectares (31 acres) built with a size of 587 metres (1,926 ft) length on the main axis channel and with a total width of 251 metres (823 ft). The garden has three terraces fitted with fountains and with chinar (sycamore) tree-lined vistas. The Shahnahar is the main feeder channel to all the terraces. Each one of the three terraces has a specific role. The garden was linked to the open Dal Lake water through a canal of about 1 mile (1.6 km) length and 12 yards (11 m) in width that ran through swampy quagmire. Willow groves and rice terraces fringed the lake edge. Broad green paths bordered the lake with rows of chinar trees. The garden was laid in trellised walkways lined by avenues of aspen trees planted at 2 feet (0.61 m) interval. Visit early morning
StorybyAnupama — Google review
🌄🏔️ Shalimar Garden, also known as Shalimar Bagh, is famous for its stunning Mughal architecture, beautiful gardens, and intricate waterworks. The garden is known for its series of terraces, each with its own unique features like fountains, pools, and audience halls. It is also recognized for its "chini khanas," or arched niches, behind garden waterfalls, which once held lamps. The garden is a popular tourist destination, particularly during the spring and autumn seasons when the Chinar trees offer a vibrant display. The garden includes Diwan-e-Aam (public audience hall) and Diwan-e-Khas (private audience hall), showcasing the Mughal era's architectural grandeur. The garden is particularly beautiful during spring and autumn due to the vibrant colors of the Chinar trees 🌳 🍁 Built by Emperor Jahangir for his wife Nur Jahan, the garden is considered a symbol of love and is sometimes referred to as the “garden of ❤️ love”.

Hindu temple
Perched atop the scenic Shankaracharya hill, Shri Shankaracharya Temple is a significant pilgrimage site in India. Believed to have been constructed in 371 B.C., this ancient temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, the deity of destruction and meditation. It is said that Adi Shankaracharya achieved spiritual enlightenment here before founding the four Hindu schools of Advaita philosophy. Visitors can climb 243 steps to reach the top and enjoy breathtaking views of the valley below.
Alright dude, so I just went to this Shri Shankaracharya temple in Srinagar, right? It's like, totally on top of this hill, you gotta climb a bunch of steps, felt like forever, man! But once you get to the top, the view is, like, whoa! You can see the whole Srinagar city and Dal Lake looking all shiny. The temple itself is pretty old school, you know? Like something out of history class. There's this Shiva lingam inside, and it felt kinda peaceful, even with all the people around. My parents were all into the prayers and stuff, but I was mostly digging the view and imagining what it must have been like back in the day. It's a bit of a trek to get up there, so wear your comfiest sneakers, for sure. And maybe bring some water, 'cause you'll get thirsty climbing all those stairs. Overall, it was a pretty cool experience, something different from the usual touristy stuff. Worth checking out if you're ever in Srinagar, ya know? Peace out!

This place is truly beautiful, where you can genuinely feel the presence of pure nature all around you. It’s a lovely spot that combines serenity with charm, making it a memorable experience for visitors. The temple here is not only a spiritual site but also carries with it many fascinating stories and legends, adding depth and cultural significance to the visit. One of the highlights is the breathtaking view of Srinagar that you get from this location. The elevated setting offers a panoramic perspective of the city, its lakes, and the surrounding mountains, making it one of the most scenic vantage points in the area.
Akarsh T — Google review
The Shankaracharya Temple in Srinagar is a revered ancient Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, holding immense historical, spiritual, and architectural significance. It is considered one of the oldest temples in the region. The temple is named after Adi Shankaracharya, the influential Hindu saint who visited Kashmir in the 8th century and meditated here, further elevating its spiritual importance. This temple is a vital pilgrimage site for Hindus, particularly devotees of Lord Shiva, and is associated with the rich cultural heritage of Kashmir. Adi Shankaracharya's visit to the temple not only solidified its significance but also led to it being named after him. The temple's history reflects the resilience of faith and cultural heritage, withstanding the test of time through Mughal period. The Shankaracharya Temple is an architectural marvel with octagonal shape base, 20 feet tall, 15 feet each side. It’s around 1000 feet height from valley floor level with around 240 steps to climb up. The temple is also a significant cultural and historical landmark, attracting historians, scholars, poets, and philosophers. It represents a rich cultural and spiritual heritage, inspiring and attracting visitors worldwide. The Shankaracharya Temple's association with Adi Shankaracharya, who revived Hinduism in India, adds to its historical importance. The temple's serene atmosphere and panoramic views of Srinagar and Dal Lake make it an ideal place for meditation and contemplation. As a testament to its enduring legacy, the Shankaracharya Temple remains a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a deeper connection with India's ancient traditions. “Dharmarth” trust is managing this temple very well. Security personnel are very alert as well cooperative. One must visit it to experience “Peace of Mind”
Dharmesh D — Google review
Shri Shankaracharya Temple is one of the most serene and spiritually uplifting places I have visited. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the temple not only holds immense religious significance but also offers a glimpse into Kashmir’s rich cultural heritage. Reaching the temple involves a climb of around 300 steps, but the effort is more than worth it. As you ascend, you’re surrounded by silence and greenery, and once at the top, you’re rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view of Srinagar city, Dal Lake, and the surrounding mountains. The sense of peace and divinity inside the sanctum is deeply moving. The temple is well-maintained, with strict security arrangements, ensuring that the sanctity of the place is preserved. Photography is not allowed inside, which helps maintain the spiritual atmosphere. For devotees, it is a powerful site of worship, and for travelers, it is a must-visit landmark that combines spirituality, history, and natural beauty. Visiting Shri Shankaracharya Temple is not just a religious experience, but also a soulful retreat that leaves you with a lasting sense of calm.

Shankaracharya Temple in Srinagar, Kashmir, is a spiritual and historical gem perched on a hilltop overlooking Dal Lake. A sign of ancient belief system of Kashmir, the belief system which has been forcefully eradicated from the valley. There is reaction of extremism of any form and the price has to be paid now or later, the time is the most powerful. The temple is one of the most peaceful places in Srinagar, overlooking the whole valley and dal lake. I hope people get prosperous enough to learn to live in cultural harmony and maintain diversity of the land.

A very great place to feel the warmth and care of Kashmir people ! Thank you for making our stay so special- Mr. Tariq, Mr.Shakir, Mr.Irfan, Mr.Abrar, Mr.Aadil I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel with my family, and I must say, the staff truly went above and beyond! My family was very much happy and still talks about the kindness and hospitality of the staff. From check-in to check-out, every hotel staff we interacted with was warm, friendly, and genuinely eager to help. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained, making our stay even more enjoyable. The breakfast and dinner spread had great varieties and tasted delicious. But what truly made my experience stand out was the kindness and attentiveness of the staff. They went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, often anticipating our requests before we even had to ask. From upgrading our rooms to accommodate as per our family members, to arranging a great ambience to celebrate my son's birthday even on an ad-hoc request , going beyond their food menu specially to cater our needs were few of the kind gestures which made us feel valued and appreciated. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a warm and welcoming experience.

We stayed at the Hotel Green Rooms Vintage Luxury in Srinagar, for two nights in April 2025. The place is situated in a busy residential locality, we had booked a family interconnected room. It was very spacious, well maintained and clean room. Washroom was clean but small. The hospitality was exceptional, thanks to the staffs. A special shout-out to Irfan and the Chef for going above and beyond with their service—they even prepared toddler-friendly meals just the way we wanted. Food is delicious and satisfying, We tried Chinese food for dinner and north Indian dishes for Lunch. Both were freshly made and delicious. Highly recommended for a comfortable stay! Thank you Team. Great Job! Pro tip - If you like shopping especially Kashmiri Clothings do visit the Shahjee and Co which is 2 mins walk from the hotel. They have beautiful Outfits for both men and women.

We stayed at this beautiful hotel in the 2nd week of April 2025. I had an absolutely wonderful experience.. The best part of this hotel are it's staff. They are incredible human beings and excellent at their job! The ambience, the food and the cleanliness of the hotel are it's biggest plus points after their staff. The staff go out of their way to make your stay comfortable, happy and relaxed! This place will be my place of choice if I do visit Srinagar again. I would like to especially thank Mr. Irfan, Mr. Shakir, Mr. Tariq, Mr. Nasir, Mr. Aadil, Mr. Abrar. Thank you for being such a wonderful host!

My Stay at Green Rooms, Srinagar (10th–12th August 2025) • Check-in: Smooth and quick – 9/10 • Food (Breakfast & Dinner): Excellent – 9/10 • Room Service: Good – 𝟕/𝟏𝟎 𝟏. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧’𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞: There was a frequent electricity problem on both days, especially in the afternoon and evening. 𝟐. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝: I’m from Delhi and a big foodie. The food here was super delicious – food. I must say Green Rooms Srinagar has hired mind blowing chef for their hotel. Every meal (breakfast, snacks, and dinner) tasted wonderful. The hotel staff was very caring and good listener. They even prepared a special meal for my 1.5-year-old baby, which really touched me. Overall: Everything was great, except the 𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐂𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐂𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐔𝐄. If they fix that, the hotel will be perfect!

A good hotel with good amenities. Food was reasonable, but if you arrive little late, around 10 PM, what you get is cold food and scrapings. Staff in the dining hall is arrogant. Besides this, everyone is looking at you eagerly, rather questioningly, for tips. Tip is expected for even small things.

I have stayed at other Radisson prior and loved the service so I had booked Radisson Srinagar. Utterly disappointed. Firstly the reception staff were not very courteous, felt like a government office. In the room, the bathroom there was no door partition between the bath area and the toilet, so entire toilet gets wet when we shower. We were checking out early and the reception lady had promised to provide us packed breakfast at the time of check in and we had also reminded the reception staff at the night regarding the same. In the morning there was no breakfast packed. The morning reception staff was unaware of the same. Ridiculous service and pathetic experience from Radisson Srinagar.
Divya R — Google review
It is a very old hotel property only the owner replaced the name from Radission hotels, Srinagar But Their room service is poor. The dishes that they are serving in breakfast are preserved. There bathroom accessories are not of good quality the shampoos, conditioners, body wash that they are using only the fragrance are not of good quality they harm my body the conditioners and shampoos harm my hairs. Cleanliness is not properly maintained. It’s very costly staff behaviour is not good with customers

We had the pleasure of staying at the Radisson for six days and were thoroughly impressed by the outstanding hospitality provided by the staff. The environment was consistently safe, welcoming, and comfortable. Special thanks to Mr. Sajad, Aquib, Ms. Afreena, Mr. Mujeeb, Najeeb, Majid, Aijaz, Irfan, and Mehak for their kindness and attentiveness throughout our stay. The food was exceptionally delicious, adding to the overall experience. We wholeheartedly recommend this property to anyone seeking a memorable and secure stay.

A centrally located hotel in Srinagar, just 10 min walk to the famous Dal Lake. The rooms are a bit small but have all necessary amenities. The hotel only serves vegetarian food but the taste is not so great. The front desk is really helpful, specially Mr. Tahir who is always there to help u with a smile.

A recommended place to stay in Srinagar. Good service. Staff was polite and took good care of the guests. Rooms are spacious. They do need renovation though. They have a veg restaurant which had a nice spread of buffet and veg dishes. Food was delicious. We enjoyed our stay.

We stayed here 2 days ago. The hotel is located in a posh area with very good eateries and reasonable shops nearby. It is just adjacent to a hospital and close to Dal and Lal chowk. Rooms are good. We had booked a suite. Staff is very helpful, courteous and prompt. Dinner buffet was very good but they need to work a bit on adding more items in breakfast. Overall it is worth th price. Neat and clean.

CH2 is a fantastic hotel that accommodated a group of 21 people. The rooms are well-maintained, clean, and cozy with courteous staff. The restaurant offers delicious food and caters to specific requests. Despite being slightly away from the main area, the staff is helpful and polite. The central heating in the comfy rooms adds to the appeal of this nice property with large storage capacity. Although slightly expensive, the food at the hotel's restaurant is highly recommended, especially for vegetarians.
Excellent hotel that is professionally run. The staff are courteous and attentive. Rooms were clean and well presented. The hotel manager went out of his way to ensure we were looked after and made us feel very welcome.

Filthy and mould filled rooms which can be a high health risk, dirty linen, floors are dirty. We had to change 4 rooms to find something that we is acceptable Cold breakfast and consistently running out of food (we were told that there is no butter due to public holiday but then was provided some after expressing dissatisfaction). Nothing like a 4 star hotel, must be a self proclaimed one.

The rooms were unclean with cockroaches and dirty towels. Room service was slow, with just one housekeeper. Despite dinner being included, there was no buffet and limited à la carte options, informed only at serving. Breakfast was poor. This disappointing experience makes me doubt trusting MakeMyTrip booking in the future, since they spoke quite highly of the property.

Cleanliness problem, service is bad. Food is sub par. For the money they take, the services they give is not great. Plumbing issues, water stopped mid shower. Toilet was not clean. Mosquitoes in the room. No proper toiletries provided. Two random soap bars kept in the bathroom. Breakfast buffet was bad. Food was cold.

We had a very good staying experience with Welcome Heritage Gurkha house boat. The staff were very warm in their hospitality towards us. They took care of every small needs. We were accomodated in very comfortable rooms with good ambience. Special mention and appreciation to chachaji the senior most staff member in the boat but still was humble and attended to all our needs patiently and promptly. We were served with fresh and tasty breakfast everyday and we overall has a very comfortable and memorable stay. Would recommend this property for a comfortable stay.

I recently had the pleasure of staying for one night at the WelcemHeritage Gurkha Houseboat on Nigeen Lake, and it was an experience to cherish. From the moment I stepped onto the houseboat, I was captivated by its charm and elegance. **Interiors:** The interiors of the houseboat are nothing short of regal. The intricate woodwork and traditional Kashmiri decor create an ambiance of luxury and comfort. Each room is thoughtfully designed with attention to detail, making it a perfect blend of heritage and modern amenities. The spacious rooms, adorned with beautiful carpets and antique furniture, provide a cozy and inviting atmosphere. **Service;** The service at WelcemHeritese Gurkha Houseboat is exemplary. The staff is incredibly attentive and courteous, always ready to assist with a smile. From the warm welcome to the prompt room service, every aspect of the hospitality was top-notch. The caretakers, ensured that our stay was comfortable **Home-Made Food:** One of the highlights of our stay was the delicious home-made food. The houseboat offers a variety of cuisines, but the traditional Kashmiri dishes were the standout. The flavors were authentic and the ingredients fresh, making each meal a delightful experience. **Views:** The views from the houseboat are breathtaking. Nestled on the serene Nigeen Lake, the houseboat offers stunning vistas of the surrounding mountains and the tranquil waters. The mornings are especially peaceful, with the mist rising from the lake and the sound of birds chirping. Evenings are equally enchanting, with the sun setting behind the mountains, casting a golden glow over the lake. **Peaceful Mornings and Evenings:** One of the most remarkable aspects of staying at Nigeen Lake is the tranguility it offers. Unlike the bustling Dal Lake, Nigeen Lake is much quieter and more serene. The peaceful mornings and evenings here are perfect for relaxation and reflection, making it an ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle of daily life. **Pricing:** It is worth noting that the pricing at WelcemHeritege Gurkha Houseboat is higher compared to the houseboats on Dal Lake. However, the premium is justified by the superior service, luxurious interiors, and the serene environment of Niseen Lake. For those seeking a peaceful and luxurious stay, it is well worth the extra cost. In conclusion, my stay at WelcemHeritage Gurkha Houseboat was an unforgettable experience. The combination of beautiful interiors, excellent service, delicious home-made food, and stunning views made it a perfect retreat. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and tranquil stay in Srinagar.

Best house boat you can be on. Right from the check in to check out, everything was excellent. This visit changed our perception about house boats. Extremely clean, hygienic, centrally heated, amazing food, great hospitality. You cannot expect services to be like in a stand alone hotel like 24/7 room service but there is a 24/7 caretaker on the houseboat. Tanveer and his team Mujjafar and Mujakeer were extremely hospitable and ensured that we had a good stay. They serve you food on dining table that will give you a feeling of homely stay. Hot wheat chapati, rice and food felt like cooked at home. Views are too good (ensure you wake up early for the sun rise ). We were lucky as we got the house boat to ourselves. Will stay here again. Clean linen, had a bath tub in it. Had a an amazing stay.
Sanyam G — Google review
The staff, including individuals like Riyaz, Pervez, and manager Ishaq, have been commended for their excellent service and warm hospitality. Many guests feel well taken care of during their stay. Cuisine: The on-site dining experience offers a variety of cuisines, including Continental, Indian, Chinese, and traditional Kashmiri dishes. While some guests appreciate the home-cooked feel of the meals, others suggest that having a menu with prices would enhance the dining experience.
Sher D — Google review
It was great being there having excellent service by all staff. The houseboat is located in quiet lake, very peaceful and was kept that way ensured by staff. The staff understands the excellence of service they are providing and is knowledgeable. The place was nice, clean and tidy and provided comfort that was much needed. Food was good too. I highly recommend this place if you want are looking for a different experience as this place is away from noise and not crowded.

We had a really great experience here. The staff was extremely helpful and very kind. We are vegetarian and they catered the meals to our dietary restrictions. The rooms are gorgeous and very easy access to showrooms for Kashmiri pashminas as well as rugs and more. We also experienced great boat rides and the staff know the best people and secured us rides. Would recommend staying more than one night because it is so fun and serene

Our stay on the WelcomeHeritage Gurkha boat #2 was phenomenal. We were blown away by the beauty and intricate carvings of the decor. The boat has been kept in wonderful form and all the rooms and common areas are super luxurious. I enjoyed listening to the stories from the houseboat caretaker and enjoyed the delicious food service during our stay. Definitely recommend staying on Nigeen Lake and not Dal lake with this beautiful houseboat.

Our stay at Rah Bagh By The Orchid was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warm hospitality and exceptional service. The staff was incredibly polite, attentive, and always ready to assist, ensuring our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Our room was exceptionally spacious, providing a sense of luxury and relaxation. The highlight, however, was the breathtaking night view of the city—a mesmerizing sight that added a magical touch to our experience. The elegant décor, plush furnishings, and modern amenities made our stay truly indulgent. The food was simply outstanding. From the delicious breakfast spread to the perfectly prepared meals throughout our stay, every dish was crafted with great care and flavor. The quality and variety exceeded our expectations, making dining at the hotel an absolute pleasure. Though the property is situated slightly outside the main town, it offers a unique and peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle, making it an experience in itself. The play area and gym were a fantastic addition, and we made the most of these facilities during our three-night stay. Without a doubt, we are definitely returning to Rah Bagh By The Orchid on our next visit. Horrible experience, never again! 1. Property claims on the website it has stunning Dal lake views, only visible from their premier loft suite or pool restaurant terrace (which was closed for renovation) 2. Very cold & unwelcoming check in experience 3. Property claims rooms are air-conditioned but the AC does not work & is uncomfortably loud. We were complaining our AC was not working & noisy, they turned on the central heating the next day (outside temperature was lowest at 10 degrees C, maximum was 24 in the day) 4. They provide a refrigerator in the room but it was not functioning. 5. Breakfast is the worst- hard as stone idly/Vada, horrible paratha’s so we did not return for breakfast after day 1 6. Properly claims they have two restaurants & a pool, only 1 restaurant was operational while the pool was shut. The hotel staff did not have the courtesy to inform us at booking time or check in. 7. The maintenance work was loud & carried on from 7.00 AM to 10.00 PM completely disturbing your peace and the serene environment. They gave us a suite right where the maintenance work was ongoing which was not great. 8. Lastly, located way outside Srinagar with a good 30 minute ride to Dal lake

Rah Bagh Resort: A Serene Escape in Srinagar. Nestled amidst the serene apple orchards of Danihama Harwan, on the outskirts of Srinagar, Rah Bagh by The Orchard offers a luxurious boutique retreat that truly embodies the essence of Kashmiri charm and hospitality. This five-star property, while slightly removed from the bustling city center, provides an unparalleled sense of peace and tranquility, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a quiet and rejuvenating getaway. The resort's design is a thoughtful blend of Alpine-style chalets and garden cottages, seamlessly integrating with the natural surroundings. The spacious and elegantly furnished rooms offering breathtaking views of the Zabarwan mountains, and the Dal and Nigeen Lakes. The meticulous attention to detail in the décor, coupled with modern amenities like comfortable beds, in-room safes, and individual climate control, ensures a truly indulgent stay. Rah Bagh excels in its culinary offerings, with the delicious food served at the on-site restaurant and coffee shop. From breakfast spreads to carefully crafted meals. Beyond the luxurious accommodations and dining, the resort boasts an impressive array of facilities. A highlight is the refreshing outdoor pool with a hot tub, set amidst beautiful rose gardens, offering stunning views. The Urban Nirvana Spa provides a range of treatments for ultimate relaxation, and a well-equipped gym caters to fitness enthusiasts. For families, a dedicated kids' play area and indoor games add to the appeal. While its location a bit outside the main town is a recurring point in reviews, but the peaceful ambiance and stunning vistas more than compensate for the slight distance. Rah Bagh Resort promises an unforgettable experience, making it a highly recommended choice for a luxurious and serene escape in Kashmir.

Very poor customer service. Group of 18 friends on a ride had booked, but were forced to cancel post the deplorable incident in Pahalgam. Cancellation was done 4 weeks in advance and a refund was promised in writing. Its now nearly 10 weeks of constant follow up and other than spinning a new yarn each time, the promised refund has not materialised. Will NOT recommend this property or its management team (other properties of the chain). Book at your own peril.❌❌❌❌❌

The hotel, its staff, and the overall ambience are truly awesome and worth praising. You’ll definitely get a great Kashmir vibe while staying here. The only minor downside is its location — it’s a bit away from Srinagar city. However, it’s perfect if you’re planning a day trip to Sonmarg.

I had such a lovely time at hotel. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the rooms were spotless and cozy. It is a walking distance from popular stops tourist places like dal lake. What really made the stay memorable was the food Chef Altaf is truly talented! Every dish was full of flavor, beautifully presented, and made with so much care. Definitely a place I’d love to come back to.

The surroundings were so peaceful and serene, with an ambiance that calmed the soul. The gentle quiet added to the charm, creating the perfect place to unwind. Highly recommended for anyone looking to escape the hustle and immerse in tranquility!

I stayed in the hotel on 4th and 05th August. Was very pleased with the room provided. And the cost of stay was also reasonable. The hotel had a very excellent chef named Altaf. He made excellent chicken curry. I was very pleased with the stay. Excellent hotel very near to Dal lake.

Wow. This was the most peaceful night in an amazing place. The whole family was so friendly and fun. The food was amazing and the room beautiful. They helped with everything we needed and were great people

Very rude behavior I personally experience. I booked the boat house from hotel booking app, but was not sure about the location and rooms types. So i went the boat house to check. But the person incharge was rude and dominating. He insisted me to cancel the online booking before I leave the boat house.i liked the houseboat but changed my mind seeing the behavior of the staff. This kind of rude and unprofessional behaviour is not at all accepted at the time when the tourist footfall in low . Hope they learn some manners and people skills before running a hospitality business.

A brilliant experience while in Srinagar! We had opted for the mixed dorm rooms, and even though the space was a little small, the rooms were well maintained and homey. The games room has a variety of games in it and is a good place for socializing and spending quality time with your friends. The location is also close to the main market so traveling becomes much easier. And I can't rave enough about the food. It was one of the best meals I've ever had. We tried almost everything on their menu, and we were never disappointed. Extremely friendly staff, great location, good rooms on a budget, and the best food possible in any hostel. 10/10!
Nidhi K — Google review
Starting with rooms, they are awesome, dormis, private rooms everything is available. Service is also uncompromised. Staff was helpful and kindly, same as the owner. Food was very delicious tbh. But the main problem is somewhat location, one needs to go 1-1.5 km upside (away from dal lake). Road was also narrow. Rest everything was pre -eminent, view from hotel was also fabulous.

I would recommend this place if you are planning to stay in Srinagar.

Amazing stay! The location is perfect, and spending a day on the top floor taking in the stunning Dal Lake views is a must. But what truly made our stay special was the owner, Waseem bhai - incredibly humble and kind. When I accidentally broke the patio umbrella in the garden, I offered to pay for repairs, but Waseem bhai refused to take a single penny! His generosity and hospitality are truly appreciated. Highly recommend this place! 😊

What more you want? Such a lovely place to be. Full of energy, very much affordable, stayed here for almost 4 nights. Rooms/beds are comfortable. Chance to interact with unknowns. Food is great, the staff including Mr Waseem and others here are very supportive and friendly. The only downside is the location of this, which is a bit inside from main road but the best part is that you can hire a bike/scooty at affordable rates from here only to roam around, which is again very comfortable as the main road has traffic jams during peak season for which two wheeler are ideal. This also has a game room where there are so many great board games to refresh you and establish a connect with the fellow people. Whostels Srinagar has all the things you will require to stay comfortably. Also the view is great from the balcony. All and all enjoyed staying here. Five stars!!

Hotel Dar-Es-Salam is a luxurious accommodation option in Srinagar, catering to travelers with a generous budget. The hotel offers upscale amenities and services for those seeking a lavish stay. Additionally, there are mid-range options like Heevan Retreat in Gulmarg for those looking for comfortable accommodations with convenient locations. For a unique experience, visitors can also consider staying at houseboats on Dal Lake or the floating hotel Sukoon for an unforgettable Kashmiri experience.
It was an amazing experience staying in this hotel. Stayed there for 3 days. By the end of the trip felt like home and didn't want to leave. It's so cozy and the stuff is so nice and helpful. Food is amazing as well. Since it's a small hotel they really care about their guests. 5 stars. They made my experience of Srinagar and Kashmir amazing. Highly suggest to stay there

One looks for either professionalism or a personal touch (homeliness) in a hotel. This lacked both. To me is was overpriced. But all said and done, I am ready to pay much more than this just to sit in their garden amongst the the plants and the birds. It is so beautiful and definitely one of the best gardens I have ever seen. Beautifully curated and absolutely perfect.
Vikas G — Google review
Our stay at the Hotel Dar-es-Salaam in November 2024 was nothing short of spectacular! It’s a gorgeous property on the banks of Nishat Lake, the quiet and more peaceful side of the Dal lake. The garden is adorned with beautiful flowers and the Chinar tree has my heart! The food was home cooked and local delicacies, and very very nice. We also got a private Shikara ride from the hotel to Dal lake and it was an amazing experience! My only suggestion to the management is to refresh the rooms with newer towels. The towels were clean but they were quite old making it a bit underwhelming.
Surbhi B — Google review
Our stay at Dar-ES Salam was a truly regal experience — the kind that lingers in memory long after you've returned home. Set gracefully on the tranquil banks of Lake Nagin, this hotel is a seamless blend of understated elegance, cultural richness, and heartfelt hospitality. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this property reflects luxury at every step. The beautifully manicured gardens, maintained with such care, immediately created a sense of peace and exclusivity. Every pathway, bloom, and view seemed perfectly placed to create an atmosphere of quiet opulence. The rooms were nothing short of magnificent — spacious, tastefully furnished, and exuding luxury from every corner. Antique accents throughout the property gave it a timeless charm, while the luxurious sit-outs offered a perfect spot to relax and soak in the lake views. It felt like staying in a royal retreat, yet with all the comforts of modern hospitality. The food was another highlight of our stay — each dish was a celebration of flavor and craftsmanship. The use of fine spices and rich ingredients reflected the royal spirit of the place. Every meal felt thoughtfully prepared, whether it was an authentic local delicacy or an international dish — the chef, truly a master of both local and global cuisines, brought finesse to everything served. Equally impressive was the staff. Knowledgeable, courteous, and always ready to assist, they added immense value to our experience. Their deep understanding of local culture and places made our visit even more enriching. The owner himself is a gem — humble, approachable, and genuinely passionate about offering an unforgettable stay to every guest. His personal touch and vision are reflected in every detail of the hotel. Dar-ES Salam is not just a hotel — it's an experience of elegance, serenity, and true Kashmiri hospitality. We left with hearts full of gratitude and minds full of beautiful memories. We wholeheartedly recommend this gem to anyone seeking a luxurious, culturally rich, and peaceful escape by the lake. Special thanks to tariq and his team for attending to each an d every requests of ours

I would rate this property more than 5 star. I being a tour operator did some mistake in booking rooms, dealing with them for the first time I thought it is going to be tough dealing with them. To my surprise Mr. Khurram behaved like a gentleman and solved my problem without a single grudge. Hatsoff to the team. My guest stayed in their property for 3 nights and they were overwhelmed with the service, staff, rooms and food. All the best for future 🙏

Although this hotel is very pretty, it has the old world charm and so much potential, we were quite disappointed. Even though they had other rooms, they refused to give us better ones. The rooms that we got did not have working ACs, so in the summer heat it got a bit stuffy. The room that we got was on the back side, ground floor where the staff kept passing by the window, talking loudly till late at night and early morning too. The electrical points in the room are very old and only one small one in the corner fitted mobile chargers. The bathrooms were very good, clean and well maintained. The mattress was very very uncomfortable in both our rooms and the pillows were too fat and not usable. The gardens on the other hand were beautiful and well maintained and you could get a Shikara ride from inside the hotel itself. The food was mediocre. I would not recommend this hotel.
Pinky C — Google review
This place is great! The sunsets are amazing. All the staff are so kind. It is on a lake and you can take a boat ride on the lake. Other boats come to your boat a sell you things and it is really sweet. The only thing is that the bathrooms have dead flys on the wall, but it got cleaned it out. The garden is so big and pretty. Clean and lot of flowers.
Sunaina M — Google review
We booked this place for two nights and the room hardly had any lake view as the road and the garden in the photos was the only view. They outrightly refused to change the room because they had a "group" booking and we were asked to LEAVE THE PLACE because we asked for a lake view room - we had booked their highest priced room. Also, they gave a cab for local sightseeing and the driver stopped a cab atleast 500m from every point and we were so tired of walking that we had to turn back mid-way and vacate the place within 4 hours of reaching the hotel. After 2 hours on call with Makemytrip we were refunded the booking amount of 42000 and in the middle of the rain at 8 PM, we had to find a place for ourselves at the last moment.

Sukoon Houseboat is an elegant inn located on Lake Dal, offering top-notch services and amenities to ensure guests' comfort. The houseboat provides complimentary internet access and airport transportation services for a seamless experience. It also offers complimentary parking and is completely smoke-free. Set among floating lotus gardens in a secluded corner of Dal Lake, Sukoon offers stunning views of the misty Pir Panjal mountains, forts, and temples.
This is THE BEST houseboats on Dal Lake, Srinagar—We had a great time with family. Mr. Bashir at the front desk is very supportive , and all the staff are polite and humble. They take very good care of guests. In the evening, they played Kashmiri music, which was excellent, and the singers performed beautifully. In the morning, we went for a Shikara ride, which was a great experience. The food was good, and the hospitality was excellent. Overall, a wonderful stay. We give this houseboat a five-star rating.
DIVYESHH V — Google review
Situated on the quieter side of the lake, this houseboat gives you a panoramic and unobstructed view of the hills. It’s a luxury stay with all the amenities. The staff and service were excellent. I was travelling with my mother who was slightly unwell and they went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable stay. Even when the outside temperatures were low, the room was very warm with the heater air con and the electric blankets. Good food with good variety. An evening high tea with a musical performance is included. However, I gave a 4 star because : I was travelling with my mother and requested a late checkout at 3:30 pm (was ready to pay extra too) since I did not want her to be without a room until our flight later in the evening. Only upon getting a confirmation about the late checkout I had confirmed my booking. They started calling me from 1pm itself to checkout since they were expecting another guest. To the sukoon team : Although I understand that you are not obligated to offer a late checkout and you have certain limitations, you should informed the same either before checking in so that I can make necessary arrangements or offer another room for a couple of hours (which you eventually did after showing my conversation regarding the late checkout), specially since I kept mentioning that I’m travelling with my mother. After what truly felt like the perfect stay, I left your property with a slightly bitter experience that could have been avoided altogether. But apart from this small hiccup, overall it was a great experience and would highly recommend experiencing this stay and I would love to come back again !
Valli P — Google review
We recently stayed at Sukoon Houseboat on Dal Lake for two nights, booked via Kashmir Express, with high expectations for a boutique luxury experience. The location is undeniably beautiful, and the houseboat has a charming, traditional aesthetic that reflects the region’s heritage. However, several aspects of the stay fell short of the level of service and comfort typically associated with luxury hospitality. On arrival, our welcome high tea was delayed, leaving us waiting in the heat. Additionally, the tour operator began filming our family without prior consent for social media purposes, which felt intrusive and inappropriate during what was meant to be private time. Our Shikara ride was scheduled too close to dusk, which limited visibility and photo opportunities. The ride was also repeatedly interrupted by floating vendors, which impacted the peaceful experience we were hoping for. Service issues were unfortunately a recurring theme. Despite several reminders to the manager and staff on duty, room cleaning did not happen until late at night after we returned from a long day of sightseeing. The bathroom in our suite had maintenance issues, including a clogged bathtub and poor drainage. Due to the humidity, we had to request a fan for basic comfort. Room service did not reflect the standard expected from a premium property, and attention to cleanliness was lacking. Drinking water was served in flasks that did not appear properly cleaned, and we discovered hair in our breakfast. This concern was raised in the presence of Mr. Jaseer, who witnessed the issue. To add to our discomfort, we also encountered a large spider in the bathroom, which was unsettling, especially considering this was positioned as a luxury suite. While we understand that natural settings come with the occasional insect, we expected a higher standard of room upkeep and pest control at this level. The property layout also had practical drawbacks. The lobby serves as the reception area, leading to frequent foot traffic and limited privacy. There were no recreational amenities—such as books, games, or a lounge area—for adults or children to enjoy during downtime. In-room features like lights, air conditioning, and curtains had to be operated individually, which felt outdated and inconvenient. We had paid for an extra bed for our child and were upgraded to what was described as the “most luxurious suite.” While the gesture was appreciated, the suite itself felt basic compared to other high-end houseboats we’ve previously stayed at—particularly on Nigeen Lake. Kashmir is truly breathtaking, and we believe it deserves a level of hospitality that complements its natural beauty. Sukoon Houseboat has the potential to offer a remarkable guest experience, but significant improvements in service quality, maintenance, hygiene, and guest privacy are needed to meet the expectations of discerning travellers.

Houseboat 19A is located at Ghat 19A on Boulevard Road, offering a peaceful and scenic front-row position on the lake, away from the usual crowd and noise of Srinagar’s main tourist hubs. The tranquil setting is ideal for those seeking quiet surroundings, and the location is accessible via a motor-powered shikara. While the environment is serene and visually appealing, the service experience often falls short of expectations. The staff are generally not welcoming, and guests may find themselves repeatedly requesting basic services. Fulfillment of such requests can feel uncertain, depending more on the staff’s willingness than on standard hospitality norms. Overall, Houseboat 19A has a lot of potential due to its beautiful and quiet location, but a noticeable lack of professional service and attentiveness from the staff can affect the overall experience. Improvements in guest handling and service responsiveness would greatly enhance the value of staying or hosting meetings at this property.

We had a lovely stay at this peaceful and eco-friendly houseboat on Dal Lake. It’s located in a quiet part of the lake with beautiful views of the hills. The houseboat was clean, beautifully designed with traditional Kashmiri woodwork, and had a calm, relaxing feel. As two women travelling alone, we felt very safe and well cared for. Faizan made sure everything was smooth, and Waseem and his team served us amazing food with so much warmth. Jarir and Rashid were also very helpful and kind. We really appreciated how eco-friendly the place was—no plastic or disposable items were used, and everything was done responsibly. Highly recommend this place if you’re visiting Srinagar. We’d love to come back again!

We have booked months in advance after planning our trip in Sukoon Houseboat, Srinagar. After a few days they sent a regret mail saying there was a system error and they would refund our money. ironically there were plenty of availability of the same room on all online portals for those dates. The reservation desk guy took no ownership at all and said we were free to check other houseboats but he had no knowledge of why our booking was cancelled with them. If this is the state before checking in I shudder to think what we would have encountered when we would have landed up there. Horrible people. Stay away from such scamsters.

Everybody was extremely rude, right from the guard to the receptionist. The guard didn’t let us take an Uber/auto outside the hotel because it wasn’t their hotel’s taxi. He told us to walk ahead of the property to catch any public transport. The receptionist was extremely rude as well. They didn’t serve us food in the garden area where there were tables because it seemed like too much effort for them. The food was undercooked but the F&B team was kind enough to replace it. The rooms are run-down. It felt as if the hotel staff was mistreating us like we were guests who were staying for free. The only good part about the hotel is the location and that’s why we had booked it. I hope the owners get to know what horrible staff they have running the hotel.
Daksh A — Google review
A below average experience considering the price we paid. We booked the rooms in the annex building - there was no one stationed there to address our requests. All requests, including room cleaning and key drop off had to be done at the reception which is in another building, or through the phone. The rooms were okay, with exposed wires under the TV unit and run-down sofa. Food was below average - poha was undercooked, scrambled eggs were watery with no seasoning and chicken was very chewy. Manchow soup had lumps of fried noodles with too much salt, almost inedible. They did offer to replace - but it wasn’t a one off dish that was bad. We asked for dinner in their own outdoor sitting area but they refused initially citing mosquitoes. Upon suggesting that we will order from outside, they said that it’s not allowed and we will have to place the order in one go. After unnecessary back and forth to have dinner served in their own sitting area, they agreed to serve. The only positive is that the service staff is polite. This is not the famous Kashmiri hospitality that we received at most other places in our trip.

Collection O Lavender Raj Bagh is a top-tier 4-star hotel in Srinagar, India, offering impressive amenities for both business and leisure travelers. The spacious and clean rooms provide a comfortable stay, while the friendly and cooperative staff ensure excellent service. The hotel's convenient location near the airport and local market makes it an ideal choice for travelers looking to explore the area.
The hotel experience was underwhelming, with service falling short of expectations. I arrived late at night, and after some internal discussions with the staff, I was given a room that appeared to have been previously occupied. The bathroom hadn't been cleaned after the last guests, and the bed and pillows were covered in hair, indicating they hadn't been properly cleaned. The following day, I was moved to a smaller room, which was labeled as a Deluxe room, though it was only marginally better. The breakfast offered was disappointing as well. Overall, there are better and more affordable options available.

We booked two Rooms at Hotel Collection O Rajbagh from April 15, 2025, to April 17, 2025 through @agoda. Unfortunately, our experience was the worst we have ever had. Upon arrival, they told me that there is no room available, and your booking is post paid so we don't consider postpaid booking, even when we already confirmed twice through phone calls, first when we booked and next when we were on the way but they assured me that your booking is confirmed and please pay on hotel. I used pay on hotel facility earlier in shimla so I was relaxed because that experience was good. But in this hotel they refused to give us rooms, After requesting so much they provide me 1 family room instead of 2 rooms, we were 2 couples but it was very late so we have to accept it, the staff told us to change it tomorrow, but next day was horrifying for me they alot me 2 room extremely dirty and the window was open that doesn't have any glass or window cover, mean zero privacy. When we complained, the staffs told us to live in this room or to leave the hotel, he refused to refund our money. When we requested water, we were informed that we would need to pay for that as well. Toiletries were not provided, even handwash was not there. The rooms were dirty, and the bathrooms were in poor condition. The toilet seat was unclean, and there was inadequate ventilation, blankets was so dirty and smelling so bad. The beds were uncomfortable due to uneven mattress levels, making it difficult to sleep. Furthermore, the pictures of the rooms on Agoda were misleading, as the actual rooms were in terrible condition. If anyone is planning trip to kashir don't stay at this place otherwise your whole trip will be spoiled.

We booked three Deluxe Rooms with breakfast included at Hotel Collection O Rajbagh from April 13, 2025, to April 17, 2025. Unfortunately, our experience was the worst we have ever had. Upon arrival, we received small rooms instead of the Deluxe Rooms we had reserved. When we complained, the staff told us to be satisfied with the smaller accommodations. Despite having paid for breakfast in advance, we were not served any meals. The staff claimed that payment for breakfast did not guarantee service and insisted that we would have to pay extra for it. When we requested water, we were informed that we would need to pay for that as well. Additionally, we were provided with only one towel and one small bar of soap for the three people staying in one room. The rooms were dirty, and the bathrooms were in poor condition. The toilet seat was unclean, and there was inadequate ventilation; only one window in the bathroom opened into the bedroom, leading to a bad smell. The beds were uncomfortable due to uneven mattress levels, making it difficult to sleep. Furthermore, the pictures of the rooms on MakeMyTrip were misleading, as the actual rooms were in terrible condition.

One of the worst hotel experience I have ever seen. Rooms are pathetic. Staff behaviour is rediculous. 100 rs blanket is used in place of curtain near reception. I can’t explain in words how I suffer in that room. Power supply not available whole day and no heater and geaser is there. -2 star for all.
Nagendra K — Google review
We booked this hotel 2.5 months in advance, paying ₹16,000 upfront. Shockingly, just a week before our trip, the hotel canceled our reservation without any prior notice. This abrupt cancellation left us scrambling for alternative accommodations at the last minute. To make matters worse, the refund process was unnecessarily prolonged, taking over two months to return our money. Such behavior is utterly unprofessional and shows a complete disregard for customer satisfaction. I strongly advise against booking this hotel in advance, as their lack of communication and delayed refund process can severely disrupt your travel plans.
Sujit S — Google review
The room they have given was on basement and damp. We requested for change of room even by paying extra if needed..... The various staffs who were always hobnobbing on the lobby just gave us false promises and were constantly lying that no other room is available. However on spot booking were made frequently. The food of the restaurant was pretty average. The services like rental bike / taxi was too expensive compared to market rates.
This T — Google review
Avoid this hotel at all costs if you're planning to book in advance. We paid ₹21,000 three months prior for a week’s stay, only to have our reservation canceled just a week before our trip—without a single update or notice from the hotel. The last-minute cancellation caused immense inconvenience, and to top it off, the refund took over three months. This kind of unprofessionalism and lack of accountability is unacceptable. Spare yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.

Swiss Hotel Kashmir is a modest budget hotel located just off the Boulevard, offering Wi-Fi, parking, and loaner bikes. It's a popular choice for budget travelers and even offers reduced rates for foreigners. The hotel provides comfortable rooms with state-of-the-art wooden interiors and spacious balconies with foothill views. The staff, including Manager Rouf and Akib, are known for their excellent hospitality.
Swiss Hotel in Kashmir – A GEM Well appointed rooms with lot of windows that open and enjoy fresh air of Shankarachray Hill , free hotel parking , Wi-Fi was great and nice breakfast, shower, and lovely quality time with friends in the garden. Staff speak English. Hotel is located close to the Dal Lake. central square, Nehru Park is one minutes walk. Owner Rouf is a delightful host who runs several hotels and can arrange groups for accommodation and dinner. Highly Recommended.

The rooms are nice. All the walls and floors are wooden with a nice cozy toilet. The toilet has a geyser so warm water is not a problem. It does not have a view of Dal Lake. It's just 3-4 mins walk from Dal Lake Ghat number 15. Sim card shop is available opposite to Ghat no. 15. Food options are also there. The owner is cordial and well behaved. They accept online payments. A word of advice is that please call beforehand and fix the price of the rooms over telephone and whatsapp.

We really enjoy the time in SWISS Hotel. It’s located just off the noisy main road but very near to the lake. Really nice garden to sit in there with the friendly and very helpful owner Rouf, an extremely charm person and a rich source of local knowledge. You can be freely ask him how much stuff should cost before you head out. My son and daughter enjoy 😊 a lot the time with Rouf. The rooms are very comfortable and made in wood style. You will be very glad you stayed here.

First of all I would like to say the host of this property Mr. Roof is a great personality. He can speak fluent English, is extremely polite and unlike other commission driven hoteliers gives genuine advice. Now, coming to the rooms, rooms are extremely spacious with TV, blanket heaters, 24 hour running hot water and wooden interior which turns golden in the morning with sunlight and looks beautiful. Location is walking distance from Dal lake. Also, complimentary breakfast and tea/coffee is cherry on the cake!

Swiss hotel is located at a very convenient location in Srinagar. We negotiated a price of Rs 2000/day that is half of the listed price. Affordable hotel for a middle class family. The hotel is kept neat and tidy. The owner Mr. Raouf and his staff are very friendly and hospitable and go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. I would strongly recommend this hotel for future tourists.

Spanning over 100 acres of lush fruit orchards and serene forests—home to six bears—this majestic property offers an unforgettable dining experience. Guests can indulge in rich dishes like mustard-infused dal and delectable morel mushroom pulao, all served under sparkling chandeliers with plush red carpets beneath their feet.
Karan Mahal in Srinagar, has breathtaking location. Situated at the foot of Shankaracharya Hill on Gupkar Road, it offers unique double views – overlooking the Dal Lake with the Zabarwan mountain range to the north, and the vast valley up to the Pir Panjal mountain range to the south. * Historic Ambiance and Elegance: Karan Mahal is a beautifully restored European-style villa built in the 1920s, once a royal residence. An absolutely lovely stay overlooking the Dal Lake yet far away from noisy tourists. A great place to stay if you like homely, well curated meals, smiling staff, a bit of history and peace and quiet. The food was delicious, the detailing and care in every little thing was indicative of how well trained the staff is and we felt like we were staying at the home of a distant relative. We will return again soon for a winter holiday and we highly reccomend this place for anyone who appreciates a taste of heritage and culture.

Incredibly stunning property, acres and acres of private orchards, perfect views, luxury rooms and the privacy to enjoy all of it. The staff is incredibly warm and attentive. They went above and beyond to make our stay special.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had the pleasure of getting a mega facial from Rimi while my mom had a whitening facial, and we both had such an amazing experience! 🌸 Rimi is incredibly professional, kind, and skilled at what she does. She explained everything clearly, made sure we were comfortable throughout, and used techniques that left our skin feeling refreshed, glowing, and deeply nourished. My mom was so happy with her results too – her skin looked brighter and healthier right away. What I loved most was how much care and attention Rimi gave us; she made the whole experience feel relaxing and special. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for expert facials and genuine care. 💆‍♀️✨ Thank you, Rimi – we’ll definitely be coming back!

An Unforgettable Stay at Nadis Hotel – A Gem in Srinagar! Stayed: 18 April – 21 April 2025 First of all, I must say—Nadis Hotel is the best place to stay in Srinagar! View: The hotel features a stunning garden filled with lush greenery and vibrant flowers. It’s a haven for bird lovers—you’ll constantly spot a variety of birds adding charm to the serene surroundings. Dining: The hotel serves absolutely delicious traditional Kashmiri cuisine. Every dish was full of authentic flavors and a joy to experience. Service: The biggest strength of Nadis Hotel is its warm, friendly staff who greet you with genuine smiles. Their attention to detail and dedication to guest comfort is truly remarkable. A special mention and heartfelt thanks to Ms. Amara (General Manager) for her exceptional personalized service and constant engagement with us throughout our stay. We also want to thank Ms. Nuz Rat Jaan, Ms. Shaista Jaan, Mr. Shakit Sit, and Mr. Sameer for their thoughtful and unique attention—they truly made us feel special Improvement: The Day Front Office Manager (a bit elderly gentleman) could improve his guest interactions. His approach felt more formal and authoritative—like a teacher addressing students—rather than the warm, homely vibe the rest of the team provides. Our arrival experience lacked the welcoming tone we expected and felt a bit like entering an old military setup rather than a cozy home stay. Overall: Despite that small hiccup, we highly recommend Nadis Hotel to anyone who wants to experience the untouched beauty of Kashmir and its heartfelt hospitality. A truly memorable stay!

It’s just a little outside the city, which makes it quieter and calmer. They have some beautiful gardens that you can relax in with the majestic mountains in the backdrop. Feel like you’ve left the city behind even though the city is just an extremely short ride away. The property itself is extremely well maintained and charming, and well appointed. The toiletries, the snacks, etc. everything else takes it over the top. The staff is very responsive and Amara made sure everything ran smoothly for us. Rooms are big enough- we even requested an extra bed and there was enough space for us to still move around. Had a garden view room. The restaurant has excellent breakfast and dinner. Did not have lunch there so don’t know about that. The icing on the cake – is the golden retriever – Choti-who is the sweetest most personable and well-behaved dog you will ever meet. The welcome you get from her is pure love :-) must definitely visit and stay as long as possible.

The warmth, comfort and love that we received during this stay from the owner Yakoob Bhai and his family was beyond words. They took care of us from food, hot water, to maintaining the rooms warm. We even had food the last day at his home which was the most amazing experience. He made sure that we had all the comfort and having a lovely time. They even made sure of safety during Pahalgaam visit as those were tense times. If I ever go back to Kashmir, I will definitely stay at the same boat again🙌

Yakub Dunoo is a fraud We booked for 6 pax, paid 100 percent advance (including hotel, gondolas, cab, houseboat) 3 months before trip based on his sweet talk. But when we reached there nothing is booked - only after pressurising and multiple calls (which he doesn’t answer) he made some bookings. Based on this behaviour we cancelled his houseboat stay for which he hasn’t refunded any money. Biggest surprise came at the time of check out from hotel. They told us he has only booked the room but made no payment - what option did we have with 2 small kids, our flight in 2 hrs, and him not answering the phone? So we paid and left and now have been begging him for refund since last 3 months. Please avoid this cheat!

A stunning oasis in the mountainside of Srinagar - overlooking the valley and Dal Lake. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The moment we arrived we were greeted by the gracious staff who took very good care of us. The grounds are perfectly wild and abundant with beautiful landscaping where nature flourishes. The sound of birds and crickets in the evening with the call to prayer was absolutely magical. We stayed in a family room that has an incredible soaker tub! We also made good use of the infinity pool in the evenings. Sunset Sufi music and kahwa tea was a highlight as well. We also signed up for the morning yoga sessions and would highly recommend.

What a delightful stay! We booked our stay at this little Sufi theme property and it was truly unique experience in hospitality. There was so much attention to detail and thoughtfulness from each member of the staff. From checking in to check out everything was seamless. Location and rooms were fantastic but definitely the highlight is FOOD and HOSPITALITY. Must thank Faizan, Afsana, Sohail, Alam and Altaf for a memorable experience. Will always think of them and Qaayam Gah with fondness.

The resort itself is incredibly cozy and spotlessly clean, and the view is absolutely breathtaking. We stayed for 3 days and 2 nights as a family of six — 3 adults, 2 elderly, and 1 child. What stood out the most to us was the exceptional service and hospitality. I would give them countless stars for how well they treated us. My elderly father-in-law has difficulty walking, but the staff went above and beyond, assisting with his wheelchair at all times — day or night — even when it was raining. They also gently guided my mother-in-law by hand whenever needed. Their kindness and dedication were truly heartwarming. It’s worth noting that due to the resort’s elevated location, there were occasional issues with Wi-Fi and electricity, but everything was resolved promptly and professionally. We also had the joy of celebrating our daughter’s 5th birthday during our stay. The staff went all out with the arrangements and provided a lovely birthday cake. We cut the cake at sunset, surrounded by a stunning view — it was an unforgettable moment. There even heated pool overseeing the luxurious view for relaxation. The food here was the best we’ve had in Srinagar. Everything was freshly prepared with aromatic spices, homegrown fruits, and delicious walnuts from their own garden. You simply won’t find this level of personal care and hospitality in any other hotel. Even the car arranged for our tour was extremely comfortable, and the driver was both friendly and knowledgeable. We will definitely return — not just for the beauty of the resort itself, but for the warmth and genuine care we received. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for peace, comfort, and a spectacular mountain view. Just imagine sipping a warm cup of tea with the misty hills in front of you — it’s pure Truly, this is a six star experience in Srinagar. Our sincere and heartfelt thanks to all the team in QAYAAM GAH.

Had a very hard time finding it as the location does not directly take to the property and has a gravel road which is extremely steep, even after reaching there the staff was extremely rude and told us not to enter because restaurant apparently its not available for outsiders and shuned us away bcoz vvip was visiting, extremely dehumanising.

Lily of Nageen Boat Rental provides a beautiful and peaceful setting for guests to enjoy Dal Lake. The staff is professional and helpful, and the Kashmiri food is excellent.
Staying at Houseboat Lily of Nageen was an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere was cozy, calm, and serene, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The houseboat’s design was both charming and elegant, equipped with great facilities that ensured comfort throughout our stay. What truly stood out was the exceptional hospitality—it went above and beyond our expectations. The highlight was the food: the best home-cooked meals we’ve had during our short visit to Srinagar. It felt like a home away from home, and we can’t wait to return! Highly recommended!!!

What a perfect place to stay in Srinagar. Everything went well from the minute we met Ajaz at the airport. He’s chatty, informative and full of local stories that put our visit into proper context. The boat itself is located on the quiet and calm lake, close enough to all that Srinagar has to offer but instead offering blissful peace. It’s huge, with steps up to the roof for sunset and sunrise opportunities, as well as birdwatching. Egrets, kingfishers and herons are within a few feet, standing or perching near the beautiful water lilies. There’s a park on the other side of the boat too so the stay was even more varied. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

It’s a very quaint and peaceful houseboat with all the basic amenities well provided for . We stayed here for few days during the time which it both rained and was sunny and both the times it was a wonderful memorable experience with the views of the lake being exquisite in both the rainy and sunny days . The houseboat is located on the banks of the nageen lake and is accessible via a cute public garden . Best thing about this place is easy accessiblity to land as you don’t need to hire a boat everytime you want to commute as it’s right on the banks . If anyone wants a Shikara ride it can be arranged easily with the boat coming for pick up right at the main deck / balcony . The houseboat is big with spacious living room .. dining .. and 2 bedrooms with attached bath . A big family can comfortably stay here . We occupied one room which can easily accommodate 3 people and its windows directly opened on the lake which was really scenic. You can even sit out on the roof or the deck and enjoy the scenery . As far as the hospitality is concerned it is so warm and welcoming..everyone made us feel like family and took care of all our needs. And we had both breakfast and dinner at the boat and the dinners were impeccable with the taste still lingering on in memory. All in all it was a memorable stay with no complaints and I would personally thank all the hosts and owners for making our stay such a pleasure.

A stay on this luxurious houseboat is a rare treasure. It is idyllic, the view out of the window of the room on the lake of Nageen is something very different from the rest of the houseboats in Srinagar as it is intimate, personal and quiet. The hosts are mire than friendly.

EXCEPTIONAL VIEWS AND HOSPITALITY!! Absolutely loved our stay here! All the staff were very helpful when there was any issues they aimed to please. The hospitality we were shown was beyond expectations. The breakfast was great and we were even fed dinner a few times! Besides how beautiful the houseboat is decorated the location is magical, very peaceful. The way the house boat sits every room has an actual lake view which is unique from most other boats in Dal or Nigeen lakes! Thanks Imtiaz, Meraj and Ajaz

Houseboat Lily of Nageen We stayed with Ajaz bhai during the last week of December in 2020. The five stars are too less to describe the experience we had with him and his family. We truly had a local Kashmiri experience thanks to him and his wonderful family members. Despite being extremely cold, the place was always well heated and there was hot water in the bathroom. The home cooked Kashmiri food and that special cup of Kahwa always warmed our hearts. The houseboat is situated in a good location with an un obstructed view of the Nigeen lake. The sunset is quite magnificent from here. The interior of the houseboat is very thoughtfully done with a lot of details. Ajaz bhai gave us a lot recommendations for local travel and shopping. He arranged for our travel to and fro the airport and also to Gulmarg. Ajaz bhai and his family always went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and did everything in their capacity to ensure we had a good time. We would like to return soon to experience Kashmir in a different season but at the same accommodation.

Despite a perfect environment, I will keep a very bad memory of my experience. I strongly recommended to avoid this houseboat, especially for a woman traveling alone. I have been living in India for two years and traveled all around the country, and I have never encountered such innapropriate behavior from my host. There is a very big difference between showing hospitality and making your guests feel uncomfortable by not respecting their boundaries or personal wishes. The hosts were arrogant, mysoginistic, rude on many occasions, and made me feel unsafe. I had to fight for each of my travel decisions, and it definitely ruined my experience in Kashmir.

Lovely place. Lovely view. Lovely hosts. I stayed here for 1 week in the house boat. The setup was regal and the houseboat was true to its name and all the stories I had heard about it. Ajaz and his folks were very hospitable and accommodative. They also offered to take us through the regular places. The view was amazing. Much calmer and lesser hustle than Dal lake. If you are looking for the flavour of Kashmir away from the hustle of tourists, this is the place.

Nestled on the serene western shores of Dal Lake, Butt's Clermont Houseboats offer a unique experience dating back to the 1940s. Run by the father-and-son team of Manzoo and Gulam Butt, these houseboats have hosted famous names like George Harrison and Arundhati Roy. The colonial-style dining room serves up hearty fish, meat, and vegetable dishes while offering breathtaking views of the moon's reflection on the water.
I stayed here for 2 nights and the place is serene, beautifully built and well maintained. Love the views that the house boat offers from each room, the mornings are amazing and the fajr azaan from Hazratbal Dargah adds more depth to the experience when one sits and observes the beauty. Loved the hospitality by the Butt family, Nadeem, uncle and aunty were extremely courteous and the on ground staff were always polite & friendly. A big thanks to Ramzan uncle for the hospitality, Mahwat uncle for the extremely delicious Kashmiri cuisine and Riyaz for taking me to the scenic places around. Loved the stay here and will recommend to all my family & friends wherever they visit.

An exciting place for a classic houseboat stay. Built in 1940s, it has so much history and character that anyone going there is spell bound by it’s beauty and legacy. Dal lake on one side of the houseboat, most amazing views of the gardens on the other side makes it a unique experience. Home style cooking and bon fire on request made us feel at home and very comfortable. Definitely must visit if in Srinagar and want some peace away from the hustle of the city.

I have been to this amazing place and highly recommend it for those who want to enjoy the calmness of Dal lake and have relaxing time. Evening view is awesome with mountain's and sky's mirror reflection on Lake. You are at one side of Dal lake away from the tourist shikara's crowd and city traffic. Best part of this houseboat is that it is attached to a Mughal garden and accessible by car. You are not dependent on shikara ride. Ramzan kaka manages the show there right from smal needs to lavish food. Owners of the boathouse are very humble, down to earth and a great host and checked on our convenience multiple times. We wanted to enjoy morning shikara ride and it was arranged within no time. Overall a great experience. Thanks to Butt family for a memorable stay

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Clermont Houseboats in Kashmir for three nights, and it was an unforgettable experience. The location is simply stunning, situated on the serene Dal Lake with beautiful gardens adorned by grand chinar trees. The natural beauty surrounding the houseboats creates a peaceful and picturesque setting. The service at Clermont Houseboats was exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their attention to detail and warm hospitality made us feel truly welcome. The meals were another highlight of our stay. Each dish was delicious, offering a delightful taste of local cuisine. It was evident that great care was taken in the preparation and presentation of the food. Overall, we had a wonderful time at Clermont Houseboats. The combination of the beautiful location, excellent service, and delectable meals made our stay a memorable one. We highly recommend Clermont Houseboats to anyone looking to experience the beauty and tranquility of Kashmir.

Built in the 17th century by Dara Shikoh, it is a perfect blend of Islamic and Persian architecture.

Pari Mahal is a beautiful and historic spot in Srinagar with stunning views of the city and Dal Lake. The gardens are well-maintained and the architecture is truly fascinating. It’s a great place to spend a few hours soaking in the history and the views. The only reason I’m giving it four stars instead of five is that it can get a bit crowded at times, but overall, it’s definitely worth a visit!

I stayed at Hotel Grand Mamta last month. The location is excellent, the rooms are comfortable, and the overall facilities are quite good. I genuinely liked the property and my stay was pleasant. However, the only negative aspect of my experience was at reception. The young lady at the front desk was extremely rude and unprofessional. Moreover, she had very poor command of English, which made communication unnecessarily difficult. At one point, she even had to call her senior because she was unable to continue the conversation in English. To make matters worse, she also attempted to cheat me during the check-in process something completely unacceptable. For a hotel of this standard, the receptionist should be polite, professional, honest, and able to communicate in English without difficulty. Everything else about the hotel was satisfactory, but the front desk experience severely damaged the overall impression.

We stayed foe 3 nights in April. The room and stay were worth the discounted rate. Rooms are adequate for a family of 4, location is great too. We had booked a lake facing view but we got a rather disappoint view - that was one let down. Another one was we never were given a room access card for the entire stay citing previous guest mistakes - not sure why it takes so long to program another access card which is perhaps 3 decades old technology. However leaving those peeves aside the stay was worth the price . There is good tourist crowd. Location as shown in travel portals was probably old , now they have 2 other Mamta hotels so the greenery outside is virtually non existent. The front facade of the hotel and porch are impressive. House keeping arrives are good and prompt, reception too takes the call and answers things quickly. Front room has a heater and both rooms have smart TVs and STBs - we could enjoy IPL on star sports 2. Lobby area can be better illuminated to make the experience grand. Overall a good place to park if the objective is really tourism for the entire day.

A perfect blend of Kashmiri hospitality and culture. The entire complex - situated just a stone's throw away from Dal Lake, is centered around a lovely park. Our room was spacious and well appointed. Bathroom was large and airy. The service staff extremely courteous and helpful. Restaurant food was OK, a little below our expectations. Breakfast spread was adequate, the taste of the South Indian items requires improvement. An onsite shop has a selection of Kashmiri handicrafts products. There's also a small cafe with outdoor seating on the hotel's ground.

Here’s the revised review including that thoughtful gesture: *** From the moment we arrived, the resort exceeded all expectations. The room offered complete privacy, creating the perfect balance of comfort and tranquility, making it feel like a true escape from the outside world. The hospitality was warm and genuine, with every staff member greeting us with a smile and ensuring that even the smallest needs were taken care of promptly. The food was fresh, flavorful, and served with great attention to detail. Lateef from restaurant was very kind and helpful. What truly stood out, however, was the people working at the resort. When my wife was not feeling well, they went above and beyond by offering their own vehicle with a driver to take us to the hospital and chemist. Their kindness, dedication, and professionalism made our stay not only enjoyable but also unforgettable. This resort doesn’t just offer a stay—it offers an experience where privacy, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality come together beautifully.

Bad and uncooperative staff, even worse customer service. This Imran guy who is supposed to be their 'Head of Sales' has zero sense of customer service and how to deal with a customer in need. We booked the hotel for certain dates but because my wife was hospitalized we couldn't go and requested for a reschedule. This Imran guy kept on lingering the issue stating the matter is with 'Higher Authorities ' and he has mailed them. This went on for a week and ultimately I got the number of their GM somehow who then said he didn't know of any such matter. This goes on to show the incompetence of Imran and the lack of integrity of the staff. Further when the stay got rescheduled these guys charged 15k additional. The stay was at best OK, Food was average. Would highly recommend to skip this one.

It was a great experience to have stayed in this hotel. Best supporting staff, best hospitality, awesome food. This would be memorable considering my first Srinagar travel. Naseer Khan one of the staffs in this hotel has been amazing. His dedication to support you and the soft spoken nature would melt your heart.....

1st of all, the pics and online reviews are very misleading. Hotel looks absolutely nothing like shown in pictures. They are probably from when it was 1st opened. The hotel itself, room, everything was so old. The entire property needs a face lift. The pillows were old, yellow and just gross. Appliances were broken. Staff were nice, they were all friendly and polite. I had left my shirt and they had saved it for me. Ive no complains for the staff, they were all lovely. Included Breakfast was pretty good, mainly catered for Indian guests, but lots of option for American breakfast as well. For ~$125 per night, id get much better quality hotel in different parts of the world. For the price it wasn’t worth it. And I am seeing similar trend in all around Kashmir actually. Hotel’s are way overpriced for the quality, standard and service provided.

A great location with nice ambiance. Service is fast and food is really great with variety of options. Staff is super friendly and help in any way possible. A special thank to Rashid khan at the restaurant to take care of our needs. We had some special food requests due to food allergies and he immediately obliged. A great experience. Satisfied with the service and location. Now the con side. We had 2 rooms. One room had continuous AC problems throughout night. Other room AC wouldn’t stop due to being on “test mode”. They also argued us about the extra bed. One of the bed sheets had blood stain. Although they tried to address our concerns but that shouldn’t happen at the first place. So, overall we couldn’t worry much about issues but focused on the positives. I hope they look into this feedback and make sure guests have a great experience.

The hotel boasts a prime location in Srinagar, offering excellent and prompt service. We enjoyed delicious food during our stay, although we didn't take the MAP plan, so we can't comment on the buffet dinner. However, it's worth noting that being situated in the heart of the city means you may hear some street noise.

Nestled in a serene location away from the hustle and bustle, Impex Hill Resorts offers an inviting retreat for families and couples alike. With spacious rooms equipped with heaters and all essential amenities, guests can enjoy a cozy stay. The resort prides itself on cleanliness and exceptional service, with staff members like Shajid and Shabbir Bhai making visitors feel right at home. Guests rave about the delicious food served in generous portions, complemented by complimentary breakfast options that tantalize the taste buds.
Booked 3 rooms for 2 nights and had a very good experience. All the basic amenities were available like heater, geyser, restaurant, RO water, room service etc. The staff were very prompt and responsive. The food was nice and prices were very reasonable. Although located at the outskirts of Srinagar near Nishat Gardens, we didn't face any major issues. There are rooms that have a Dal lake view from the balcony. Recommended.
Arnab N — Google review
I had booked a room with a balcony and lake view, in Impex hill resort which was confirmed over the phone by the owner, who assured me that the room would be reserved for my stay. However, after traveling all the way from Kolkata, I arrived to find that my room had been allotted to someone else. Despite multiple requests, they refused to provide the lake view room with a balcony as promised, and we were left with no choice but to stay in a ground-floor room. While the food was good and the staff were well-behaved, our stay was disappointing due to this mismanagement. I strongly recommend that anyone planning to stay here double-check their booking and ask for a confirmation with the room number to avoid such inconveniences. Hello sir this is my reply to your response: We are genuinely disappointed with our experience, particularly after reaching out to you more than 15 times to ensure that we would get the room of our choice. Despite making an advance booking, it seems our request was not taken seriously, leaving us uncertain about the arrangements. This lack of clarity and assurance led us to make alternate arrangements, including booking another car, even though we required the car for just four days. It became evident that relying on your services posed a risk we were unwilling to take, especially given the possibility of last-minute inconveniences. Fortunately, the driver we secured, Dada, turned out to be an excellent choice. He not only drove responsibly but also offered his services at a reasonable rate, which further validated our decision to look elsewhere. The only reason we decided to proceed with booking your hotel is because we specifically wanted the lake view room with the upper balcony. Without that assurance, we wouldn’t have considered your property. This situation has been far from satisfactory, and I hope such issues are addressed to ensure a better experience for future guests.

Beautiful stay on the Nigeen lake. Rooms were beautiful and cosy. Dinner was homemade and amazing. The staff were very cordial and friendly. Special mention to Bilal sir who always had a smile on his face and woke up early and got us tea before we left for the airport. He’s even picked up our food from the delivery guy. Appreciate all the help.

We had heard a lot about houseboats that its not good and there s a lot of smell in the lake water, but it was all different in wangoo sheraton. We had a very good stay over here, the rooms, the dining area and the hall everything was very clean and beautifully decorated. Very well maintained. Very good hospitality by Bilal and Sidiq. Thank you for making our stay comfortable.
Vijay M — Google review
Excellent Services, Bilal was excellent in services, all time available and ready to serve very nice food. Food was like home made and very tasty and most importantly very fresh. Rooms were clean with Air conditioning, bathrooms were clean with all basic amenities. Two ways to approach the Houseboat, one is through Najeeb Ghat-1 and then take shakara ride, other is going from back side and you can park your car in the guest house safely.

We had an absolutely amazing experience staying at the Wangnoo Sheraton houseboat. The view of the Nigeen lake, snow covered mountains, Shikaras left us feeling really great. The hospitality provided by our special help, Mr Bashir, was super and he was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was also extremely delicious, thanks to some excellent chefs. We were allowed the option to select our food (we are vegetarians 😊). A couple of points to note, the access to the houseboat is via a Shikara ride from Nigeen Ghat no. 1, so is slightly challenging for people with mobility challenges. Lastly, would be good to have mobile data, since WiFi is intermittent. Mr Akram Wangnoo is a super host, and I don’t have enough words to express my gratitude to him for the overall experience

Rooms were ok, but they turned off the heating system at night despite freezing temperature while guests were resting! I woke up sick and chilled to the bone! The dinner was ok at first, but then I and another tourist had food poisoning the next morning. The boat captain was also loud and pushy. Other than that, they have wifi, hot water for shower, and plenty of blankets.

We had a booking through a travel agency and our stay was not pleasant at all. There location in google is wrong and because of that we wasted so much time just to reach and they give us rooms in another new houseboat which they opened recently. Rooms were good and luxurious but in one room bed heater was not working and 2 of my friend got cold. Dinner was not good at all. We had a complementary 1hr sikara ride and that one also not good.

Beautifully maintained property. The ambience is excellent. Food was amazing. The Houseboat is located on Nigeen Lake, away from the crowd. Pristine beauty you can enjoy watching different birds. A must stay if you wish enjoy staying on a houseboat in the lap of Mother Nature.

We recently stayed there for a day. We were a family of 4 including 2 young kids. The boat is beautiful and very well maintained. It's very well equipped as well. The rooms very specious and bathroom was huge. The good served was great for non veg and ok for veg. The boat is in Nagin lake and we liked the calm and clean lake much more then the Dal lake. Dal lake is very crowded, filthy and commercial. Where as this one is smoothing. The morning view was to die for. Special mention about our caretaker Mr. Bashir, he was fantastic host. Always smiling and ready to help. My 7 year old also did some fishing with caretaker of other house boat of same group. Overall it was fantastic experience. Must do for all...

We recently visited Srinagar and had a week long stay at hotel JH Bazaz which is just 5 mins walking distance from Dal Lake Gate No 2. Our entire Kashmir tour was organized by Mr. Sarwar ji ( the owner ). The stay was really enjoyable because it really felt like we are in home away from home. Starting from providing us with tripled bedded room that we really needed, providing us a separate car on all days of our stay for visiting the different places which were a part of our itenary as well as providing us delicious breakfast and dinner as we requested. The services and hospitality that Mr. SARWAR ji provided us is really commendable. I would highly suggest this hotel for anybody who would like an enjoyable stay at Srinagar.

I recently traveled with my family and mother from March 28, 2025, to April 3, 2025. The entire tour itinerary was shared well in advance by Mr. Sarowar, which gave us ample time to prepare and plan. Even though our flight was delayed due to inclement weather conditions, Mr. Sarowar ensured that the hotel car was at the airport waiting for us until we landed, despite it being Ramadan. His attention to detail and dedication to customer service was truly remarkable, making our arrival smooth and hassle-free. Overall, the trip was well-coordinated and memorable, thanks to the excellent support from Mr. Sarowar. His professionalism and commitment to making the experience seamless were greatly appreciated Hospitality: From the moment we arrived, the hotel provided a welcoming atmosphere. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring that all our needs were met with care. A special mention goes to Mr. Sarowar Hossain, who was incredibly honest and made sure everything was arranged properly. Food: The food served was absolutely delicious. As vegetarians, we appreciated how Mr. Hossain made sure that the meals were tailored to our preferences, ensuring they were vegetarian and prepared with minimal spice. The dishes were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, with a variety of options that catered to our tastes. The breakfast buffet was particularly impressive, offering an excellent selection of dishes. Hotel Staff Behavior: The hotel staff were professional, approachable, and efficient. They handled requests promptly and made us feel valued throughout our stay. Their personalized attention added a special touch to our experience. Overall: The hotel excelled in these key areas, ensuring a comfortable and memorable stay. I stayed there 5 days in July 2023 and it' was such a nightmare. The second day, one of the 3 brothers asked me very roughly to cancel my réservation made via booking.com. So they skipped the taxes but never give them back to me, all profits for them. .. They were very, very insisting to buy papier mâché or to go to factories, etc . One time, a boat came to bring me to a place to buy stuff but as i asked nothing, i did not accept and the were Very, very angry and agressive against me. The room and bathroom were very poor, never cleaned, and very noisy... At the end , one of the brothers asked me a big tip because he dropped me once a day on the ground and back to the boat for the night. By far, my worst expérience in 22 Travels in India . Sorry, but because of these cheeters, Kashmir is a bad memory. Si, don't pay attention to the positive feedbacks which are as fake as their smile.

VERY DISAPPOINTING First of all, Don't get FOOLED by all those fake reviews. ** We booked this boat house by booking dot com. After the second night stay they just cancelled our booking and reported that we didn't appear! How dishonest. After that we left the hotel and they charged us extra 1000 rupees. we had no other choice but to pay them, after a short negotiation we paid 500. ** Now come to the room condition. their room is not suitable for night stay at all. broken windows allow cold winds at night. Toilet is of very POOR condition and it become worst as there is NO PROVISION OF HOT WATER at night!!! they only supply hot water at 7am-10am at morning. so it is not possible to use toilet at night. ** Next, they offered very POOR breakfast at morning, only two slice of bread and butter with one cup of cold tea. I am attaching a photo of that. ** The family pretends to help you by arranging taxi and other services. But they are just fooling tourists. They charges 500/1000 extra rupees for taxi, as we hired taxi from taxi stand at very lower price; which made the hotel owner very disappointed. they also take commission from the clothing shops where they sent us for shopping. ** they were supposed to provide boat shuttle. But this was not available all time and you gonna just stuck at an isolated boat. First night we didn't even get the chance to have our dinner as we couldn't cross the lake! And we asked the family to arrange any kind of dinner (with charges), but refused to help. I don't know, why there are so mane good reviews for these hotel. But my honest suggestion is to avoid this.

Our recent stay at your cottage was nothing short of delightful — a perfect blend of comfort, care, and heartfelt hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at ease, as if we had stepped into a home away from home. The cottage itself was cozy, well-maintained, and thoughtfully arranged. It had everything we needed for a relaxed family getaway. The serene surroundings and the peaceful vibe added to the overall charm of the place. One of the most special parts of our stay was how much our child enjoyed the space. There was plenty of room to play and explore safely, and the welcoming atmosphere made it easy for all of us to settle in quickly. It's not always easy to find a place that feels just right for both adults and kids — but this cottage managed to do exactly that. The food was another highlight — every meal was absolutely delicious, made with love and attention to detail. It had that perfect homemade touch, full of flavor and comfort. Mealtimes quickly became something we looked forward to each day. What truly set the experience apart, however, was the warmth of the people. The owners took personal care to ensure everything was perfect, checking in regularly and making us feel like valued guests rather than just visitors. The caretaker went above and beyond — whether it was helping with small needs, offering local tips, or just making sure we were comfortable, his dedication was deeply appreciated. We are so grateful for this memorable experience. Thank you for making us feel so welcome and cared for. We’ll carry fond memories of this stay and will certainly be recommending your cottage to friends and family. We’re already looking forward to coming back! Thanks to Aashiq

We were here in the 2nd week of April.. Loved it
