Where to eat: the 50 best restaurants in South Haven

We always head to Taste on our first night in South Haven. The bread and butter is simple but seriously delicious - it's our single favorite thing on the menu! The ribs are reliable - tender and tasty. The tomato bisque is also excellent. The hummus was a little disappointing, not a lot of flavor and the pita seemed like grocery store pita right out of the bag - grilled and seasoned would be a nice touch. But overall reliable and tasty.

This restaurant is a MUST TRY when you’re in town!! Their food is top notch! We were in town for 2 nights and we had to eat here both days, that’s how good it was the first night! The jerk shrimp is a MUST!! Coconut sweet rice with a perfectly seasoned slightly spicy shrimp… what a combo! We also LOVED their sushi! The atmosphere and the location are perfect. Service was excellent as well! If you’re a fan of bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and great drinks, this place is an absolute must-visit. Overall experience, delicious food, exceptional service, and a fantastic atmosphere! 10/10 in every way. We will definitely be coming back!

My husband and I LOVED this restaurant! We walked in on a Saturday and were able to get seated right away. The restaurant is clean, well maintained, and has plenty of bar seating as well. Service was great and food came out pretty quick. We ordered the salmon, filet bites, and Mac and cheese. Everything was delicious but we liked the filet bites the most. This was one of the highlights of our trip to South Haven. I’d love to come back here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting!

We came here for our one year wedding anniversary and enjoyed some incredible food! The sushi melted in my mouth and they had some bread pudding with pumpkin ice cream that was a real treat! Our server Heidi was super friendly too!

We went to Taste for my birthday dinner based on reviews I had seen when looking for South Haven restaurants. It did not disappoint! We got several small plates to share and some to keep to ourselves - I chose the blackened chicken in fennel cream sauce while my husband had the filet bites medium rare. He also got tempura shrimp. We split the potato pancakes and the chef's mac & cheese (chipotle cheddar with bacon and tomatoes). My drink was the Elderflower Breeze and he had a Larceny Old Fashioned. And we topped off the meal with a cookie pie. We ate everything but about 3 of the sushi rolls and while we were definitely full, we weren't overstuffed. We are definitely adding Taste to our rotation of places to eat when in the area! Be aware that parking can be a bit tricky if you are visiting during peak summer season. We found street parking a couple of blocks away but we did have to loop a few times. Also during peak season, they limit the number of reservations in order to open up more tables for walk-ins. We arrived about 6:30 pm to put our name in and were seated in about 45 minutes. People that came in closer to 7 were given wait times anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours (inside vs. outside seating). It sounded like you could also walk in and eat at the bar if spots were available. The atmosphere is lively and loud. We saw all types of attire from dressy to extremely casual (think post-beach - shorts, tube top, and flip flops). We were perfectly fine in jeans and nicer tops.

Taste! taste! Taste! Thank you Heidi for accommodating us for being late several mins to our reservation. We relished every bite of each dish. The martinis were also on point. We are glad our bnb host at Martha’s vineyard recommended us this place.

Fun eclectic little place. Food was amazing and our server Ella was a pleasure. Beautiful views after dinner to take a stroll and watch the sail boats come in. Would highly recommend. Well worth the drive from GR.

I've been coming here since I was a kid. Great food always, I was able to bring my one year old here for his first time this past weekend. The waiting system has been modernized with a text based notification, which is convenient. Excellent staff, menu, and dining conditions. I enjoyed the olive burger on my most recent visit. The onion rings are particularly well prepared.

Last minute decision for a place to eat and always on par with food and service. Brittany was great and kind. Had a burger and fries so nothing too fancy. I usually get the famous onion rings but maybe next time. Thanks again for a wonderful experience!

What an incredibly beautiful restaurant. This is such a special place on the lake right in the heart of South Haven, an enchanting little beach town. Having grown up in Benton Harbor / St. Joseph, the main downtown area of South Haven reminds me of the quaint beauty of St. Joseph. The decor of the restaurant is old world style, with interesting model ship builds and marina themed artwork and photography. The well-made wooden furniture adds to that incredible charm, welcoming visitors into the adventurous ambience of the place. The food itself was delicious, warm, and effortlessly savory. The salads were GIGANTIC in portion, which was surprising and very pleasing! The decadent garlic toast is a must have for every visitor, it is simply to die for. The various fried fish options are plentiful and very well seasoned for flavorful morsels in every bite. Visual presentations of each dish were simple and exquisite with a pub-style feel. Ready made sauces and easy access sides like coleslaw are perfect pairings for every entree. The specialty drinks were made well. My husband enjoyed a Bloody Mary, while I chose a simple Shirley Temple, but was wonderfully made with cherry splendor. Clementine's is a must visit for every visitor to South Haven. This is a dining experience you won't soon forget! ⛵️

Beautiful and large interior. Friendly service. Tater skins were good. Fry texture was a bit rubbery. Didn't finish them. This is for regular plus curly. Perch sandwich should have a lil less bread or a lil more perch. But the perch wasn't my favorite anyway. Hot chicken was decent.

The hostess was super nice upon entry but the bartender was an absolute nightmare when I was trying to pick up my to go order. She had a terrible attitude and turned my smile upside down very quickly. The energy she gave to me made me forget to tip the kitchen because I thought it’d go to her and she was so unpleasant. The food was decent in comparison to a normal Caesar salad, but it definitely wasn’t the quality I normally get here. This is the first time I’ve ordered out from here and I probably wouldn’t again. It was also within the first hour they opened, I don’t know. Maybe it was an off day.

What a sweet restaurant! The food, the service and the atmosphere was top-notch!!! We really enjoyed the experience. The salad I enjoyed was large enough for 2 people to share.

We enjoyed our food here. I opted for the Clem's O-Ring Burger with fruit as my side. My brother had the Red Rooster's Haven. They were both delicious. Stephanie, our waitress, was awesome! She was friendly, professional, and attentive. I would definitely visit here again, when in town.

My dental hygienist just got back from a trip to South Haven just as we were getting ready to head that way so I asked her what she recommended and Maria's was at the TOP of her list. Obviously we HAD to stop. We were NOT disappointed! Our server was very nice and did an ok job. A little slow, but not anything bad. The food was INCREDIBLE! Like roll your eyes back in your head kinda good. My husband got the open faced meatball sub. I got spaghetti. And our daughter got the stuffed shells. My husband and I came home with an entire second meals worth of leftovers. And the price was very reasonable. It was only $50 for the three of us. My favorite part was how QUIET the restaurant was. I have sensory issues and crowd noises/restaurant noises can be very painful for me. There was very little of that here. A little bit of noise from the kitchen, but hardly any crowd noises. (It was also 2pm on a Saturday. So it wasn't very crowded.) Which is JUST what I needed after strolling the Center Street shops. We will definitely be coming back to Maria's if we visit South Haven again!

Maria's taste of Italy serves mouth-watering family recipes handed down from Sicilian ancestors with from-scratch bread and perfectly seasoned sauces. The Alfredo sauce was creamy with extra cheese. The meatball appetizers were big enough for an entree. Fresh breadsticks melt in your mouth. Even the herbal tea was served with a slice of lemon, selection of flavors, and extra hot water. Staff were friendly and genuine. They also offer a selection of locally bottled soda. We came on. Monday for lunch around noon and were seated immediately. Definitely recommend!

Wow... the food was excellent! It was busy so we sat outside, which wasn't bad, but the service is probably better if you're inside. The toasted ravioli was great, the pizza was good and the Palmero was excellent. Great flavors and preparation all around 🔥 would definitely recommend and will return.

Went to Maria's in the early afternoon on a Thursday. It was cloudy out and we asked to sit outside, to which the wait staff were highly against due to a fear of rain and if it were to get busy, the service would have been slow. Ok, no worries. We then sat upstairs. The upstairs was bigger than we thought, and had cute decor. The waitress came to our table and introduced herself within 5 minutes of being seated. We got lemonade, milk for our toddler and a sprite tasting drink. They do not have cups for kids. The side salad came out drenched in dressing and cheese. We ordered a 16 inch Margherita Pizza. The pizza was filling, but the pizza did not taste the greatest. It was the equivalent to a cheese bread. The service was good, but we'd skip this place if we want a pizza in South Haven.

I will start with the good: The chicken Parmesan was the best we’ve ever had, we ate most of it before we could take pictures. I would come back for that dish alone. Generous portion size, reasonable price, flavor was awesome, cooked to perfection. I would also like to try the lasagne and spaghetti. Waitress was so kind and pleasant. The not so good: Extremely Long wait times, and did not allow carry out on Saturday. I would suggest calling hours ahead, going inside to put your name on the wait list, and go do something to pass time until they call. Also, the pizza was unbelievably disappointing. The crust was hard, dry, and seemed like a frozen pre made crust—NOT FRESH HAND TOSSED DOUGH like you would expect from an Italian restaurant—ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE POINT. Definitely disgusting and from the pictures online it looks like maybe they changed the way the pizza was made recently? It appears that it was fresh hand tossed dough at some point before, but what we received looks like a frozen pizza. Save your money for sure and stick with the other menu items.

They offer gluten free dining options including cheesy bread (so good!), pizzas, pastas including raviolis, and desserts. The entrees are massive! I highly recommend giving it a try but maybe take them up on the split plate charge because it’s so much food!

Old school Italian restaurant. Pizza was quite good as was were the salad and bread sticks. Menu was fairly diverse with a decent number of vegetarian and pescatarian options. Service was very good and the atmosphere eclectic and interesting.

After looking at South Havens art work located around the town and going on the beach for awhile I got hungry and found this place. Best restaurant out of all the restaurants I’ve eaten at in South Haven. The waitresses working Joi and Noelia were super friendly and nice. Noelia was our waitress and I haven’t had service as good as that in a long time. Drinks came out fast as well as the food so it was hot. She was attentive to our table and was just super sweet. The food we got that was awesome is beer battered cod with homemade tartar sauce and a house salad with ranch dressing, Philly classic steak Sandwich with fries, fried portobellos with ranch dressing for dipping. Everything was excellent and for the quality of food at a fair price. The establishment is cleanly it is smaller than some but if it gets busy I would definently recommend waiting for a table it’ll be worth the wait. They also have a full serving bar with tvs.

Met some friends here for dinner. We aren't in South Haven a lot and had never heard of this place, but our friends chose it. It was really good! Service was a little slow, but to be fair, it was only her third day on the job. I got the Philly and it was really good. They don't give you a ton of fries, but they were good. And I certainly don't need more fries. I was going to get the fried chicken but the waitress said it takes a half hour to prepare. And Neal didn't have a half hour because he's diabetic. Stupid Neal! Just kidding. And plus I got to eat the Philly. Neal the diabetic got a Po' Boy and he liked it a lot. My wife also got that but on a gluten free bun. And she likes here a lot too. Betsy got a burger but I forgot to ask what she thought of that.

Had a phenomenal meal and service here. The chalkboard burger was insane. Blueberries, goat cheese, and a red onion marmalade. Loved it. We also had the rainbow trout spread app and the walleye fish and chips.

Andy was the best, great food suggestions, and excellent service. The food was utterly delicious! Unique menu. You have to come here!

Well. I’m not one to leave bad reviews. Like ever. However I feel like I need to help others avoid the experience we had. The fries & service were decent/average but the rest of our food all tasted like it had been pulled from the freezer and then fried in old grease. The highlight of our meal was the gum in the car afterward.

Great spot on the edge of the main strip. The strip is pretty narrow with limited parking but there is a nice free public parking lot directly behind the restaurant making it really convenient. We went at lunch on a Thursday and there weren't a ton of people. Our waitress was super friendly. We ordered the spicy fried pickles and cheese curds to start, both were excellent and cooked well. My wife and son got different burgers, both of which were delicious. I got the half friend chicken which was fried to perfection with a great crunch on the outside and juicy/tender on the inside. We had 2 smaller kids that ordered off the kids menu and there were no complaints on the chicken nuggets or Mac n cheese. We were in town for a day and a half and we asked our waitress if she had any recommendations and she sat down and talked with us for a good 5-10minutes about everything available in the are. The inside is a pretty typical bar and grill set up, they had a great early 2000s alternative rock Playlist on the speakers for a good vibe.

I ordered The Waldorf burger and I can genuinely say, it was probably the best burger I’ve had in my life. I don’t normally order burgers when I go out because I feel like they’re mostly the same everywhere you go. But everything about The Waldorf was exceptional! HIGHLY recommend. Their fries were also delicious. Perfectly seasoned and crispy. We also ordered the fried mushrooms which were pretty good! The service was quick and we were satisfied with that! The overall atmosphere inside is just kind of your average small town bar, but still child friendly. Nothing special, but it would be really cozy in the winter!

Solid choice in the area for food and drink. Was looking for a place for the kids to run around a bit while we had a few local beers. Turns out, it's more of a restaurant that also brews its own beer than a brewery with some food options. We were sat down right away and they were looking to take our meal order fast. All good, just not the vibe we wanted on this visit. If you are looking for a place to grab lunch or dinner, go for it. If it's more of a sit and chill visit, probably not the right spot. Patio looked cool, the inside was nice, with a mini arcade upstairs. Beer selection was okay. The blonde was very good. There were some more themed brews like jalapeno and dill infused. Service was good and very friendly. Parking was easy.

My family and I stopped here on our way up to Ludington. We were excited to try someplace new and we love stopping at breweries to enjoy their laid-back vibe. While the patio and dining area are laid-back and enjoyable, the fact that the patio is NOT dog friendly did not sit well with us. We still enjoyed our beers and dinner but we had to rush since our pup was in the car (and I felt bad). We would have gladly stayed and enjoyed ourselves more, but couldn't keep him waiting. Upon further digging I found a FAQ section of their website that states they cannot have dogs on the patio due to code (I will now call before we stop anywhere next time). As I stated this location is nice, but only if you prefer to go without your pup. I have given them four stars due to being out of our first choice (Rubia) of beer, then the second choice (Trees and Seas) was not to our taste. Everyone enjoyed their food- with my 9yo being the exception of not liking the cheese sauce. Not sure if we will be back, but feel free to give it a try!

Some pretty good food! Beer was hit or Miss for me, but I love their shandy and jalapeño lager. Prices were pretty dang expensive imo. Would come back to try more seasonal beers! Just wasn’t a big fan of the offerings they had end of summer is all.

We thoroughly enjoyed the pizza, pomegranate BBQ buffalo wings and flight of beers. The slim shady and blueberry lilac cider were great. We also enjoyed the watermelon sour beer and had a gay ole time at the bar. I will definitely be back to check out their restrooms.

July 11 2025, we visited while we were camping (from Kentucky) and celebrating my sisters 4 year anniversary of beating ovarian cancer - The restaurant was ADORABLE. The food and beer were amazing. Lindsey was our server and she was incredible. Had such a genuinely kind personality and was so friendly. She also got my sister some of the lavender beer to try (and ended up being her favorite) before it was on the menu. My son loved it so much he asked that we come back and eat again before we left town. And … we did :) HIGHLY recommend .

Holy cow! This place is amazing. The staff are so friendly and attentive. We got two flights of 6 beers each and every beer we tried was delicious. The food was so amazing. I ordered a pizza and my husband got tacos. We had a great time here and we will be back many times. (I was too busy enjoying my food and drinks to take photos this time.)

If you haven't been here, just come. I held off for months and kept forgetting. The food was so good there was nothing left for a picture. You can smell fresh pizza when you walk in the door, and while it was pretty great, the other options were just as good. We got two flights and every beer was good at a minimum. A couple I would rate in my top 10. Just show up!

Really wanted a good breakfast and unfortunately, this wasn't it. Ordered biscuits and gravy with a side of 2 scrambled eggs and cheese. It was all together in the same bowl. The eggs were mush and I didn't want cheese on my biscuits. I ate maybe half. The eggs are from a box? Not good. The bacon was edible. My wife's oatmeal was okay. I ate a half of an English muffin. The smashed potatoes were few and average. Had high hopes, failed miserably. Cannot recommend-MVP

Dinner Service was Spectacular! 5 stars across the board, the food, the service and atmosphere were excellent! Greeted at the table with toasted bread and dipping oil. The hummas was delightful, the roasted peppers really elevated the starter, the pita was perfectly crisped! The Hangar steak was well balanced with the salad and carrots, plated beautifully! The show stopper of the evening was by far Korean BBQ Ribs! The flavor profile was exceptional! Felt like a journey with each bite! Hubby can't wait to come back and order it again! Stuffed and Happy!! Well done!

Wow! From service to food, everything was great! My wife ordered the Chorizo Scramble from the menu, and I ordered one of the specials, Short Rib Benni. Generally, I am a much bigger breakfast food enthusiast than my wife, but from the first bite to the last, she raved about how delicious her meal was. This may have been the first time she loved her breakfast meal as much as I did. Summer was our server, and she was quick and friendly, and our interaction with the manager (I love giving positive feedback about our servers) was warm, welcoming, and appreciative. I would highly recommend stopping here for breakfast or lunch (breakfast options are served all day).

Phoenix Street on Broadway is such a great place to start your day. From classic breakfasts to more health conscious and diet friendly options, there is something for everyone person and preference. The BELT is the best if you want a breakfast item that is delicious and will keep you going all day. And by that, I mean you can split it, eat half, be stuffed, and eat the rest later. This is a great family restaurant.

Place was nice, service was prompt. I consider myself a biscuits and gravy aficionado and I've never had it served this way. The gravy was tasteless and the biscuits were already soggy when served. Do not recommend. My wife had the smashed potatoes and they were awesome. It was obvious that I'd chose poorly.

Went in on a very busy Saturday and dispite it taking 3+ tries to get my pancakes correct, we laughed and had a blast. Cool crew, family run, great food. We will be back.

Located at the crossroads of South Haven (but not downtown), PSoB is busy and pretty good. However, for a breakfast/lunch place open from 7AM to 2PM, they should specialize in the basics like fresh O.J., pure maple syrup and cinnamon rolls. They offer none of these. Menu is OK, not specializing in anything fab. We ordered the breakfast sandwich, very large with plenty of bacon. The egg white veggie scramble was unremarkable and served on a cold plate instead of a skillet. Jam is Smucker's packettes so you get the gist of this place. Overall, there are two decent breakfast places in South Haven: This one and Six Chicks and neither offers the extra touches. It would be nice to see them step up their game.

We really enjoyed dinner here the other night. The hours are definitely minimal and there were a few things that I would give more feedback on like spoons for the dip and maybe a side with the sandwiches. I did see that there were some a la carte options. All in all we had a lovely meal and I think we got the best table there!

Overall, the tavern was great! An accumulation of slow food service, loud music, and numerous tvs going at once makes it more a bar than a restaurant. I had the garden salad with chicken breast and the chicken was probably the best restaurant chicken I've ever tasted! My husband had the tavern burger and said he'd order it again. The fries were hot and crunchy with minimal salt. That was my only complaint on the fries. My son's chicken tenders were good, but nothing special. The waiters and hostess were quick, but the food did not come out quickly. Oh, the wings were basic. No real issues on the wings, but I've had better.

Great view of the pier and lighthouse from the outside seating especially around sundown, quite a treat with the lighthouse a short half mile away. The gazpacho was very good and fresh especially with the tomato and red onion garnish. The fried Brussels sprouts were excellent, not very oily and the garlic parmesan topping was just right all at a very reasonable price for a resort area. Highly Recommended

Outdoor dog-friendly patio is why we chose this place on our first visit to South Haven. Staff was super friendly and efficient. And, location can not be beat! Food satisfied our hunger but not something that we would go back for. Great vibe in the restaurant for those seeking a friendly place to grab some drinks and Tavern food.

Great place to grab lunch or casual dinner. Sandwiches are delicious and portions are generous. Typical bar atmosphere with TV's on for sports. Service was great too. The burgers are fantastic and one of the best Ruben sandwiches I've ever had.

The pretzel sticks with the sharp cheddar dipping sauce for the appetizer were really good. I ordered the Shrimp PoBoy... I would give it a 3 out of 5. The shrimp was fried extremely hard. The house made potato chips were delicious 😋

Dog friendly! Brussel sprouts were amazinggg & tenderloin bites were so flavorful. The strawberry salad was delish but the perch wrap is missing something, maybe more sauce?

Captain Lou’s in South Haven is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy great food, a laid-back atmosphere, and unbeatable views of the Black River. We stopped in after a day at the beach and were blown away by the friendly service, cold drinks, and fresh seafood. The perch basket was crispy and flavorful, and the shrimp tacos were perfectly seasoned. Sitting outside by the water with boats passing by created the perfect Michigan summer vibe. There’s live music on some nights, which adds to the festive, welcoming feel. Captain Lou’s strikes the perfect balance between casual and memorable — ideal for families, couples, or groups of friends. It’s become a tradition for us every time we visit South Haven. Highly recommend for a fun, relaxing, and delicious lakeside experience!

Small little bar place on the water. Outdoor seating. There isn't any nearby parking. We parked on the street across the bridge. The walk was okay. Watching the boats went by was nice. The food was okay. They were out of the beer my hubs wanted. I don't want to sound old school but when did waitresses stop wearing clothes to work? It's early in the day can we find a top and shorts? The world is changing i guess. Effort is lacking. They were setting up live music when we left. Overall it's an ok stop.

Great views while enjoying lunch at outside tables. Menu offers so many great choices it was hard to decide! The server was very helpful in narrowing down recommended/ popular items and offering suggestions based on personal preferences. Everything was delicious! Drinks were great! My salad was loaded with fresh local blueberries and was tasty and gigantic! Fish n chips were addictive. Sweet potato fries were gigantic portions and very good. I highly recommend this spot for a nice lunch outside if you want to enjoy the pleasant early fall weather near the water!👍

While on vacation in South Haven, we stopped in for lunch. Just my wife and I. We ordered the perch basket and the Manistee Mama. No drinks, just waters. We did notice they're in the middle of a remodel/expansion. They need it. Where we sat really had no views, and on the day we went was very hot. Completely understandable, considering 95° temp, but some better circulation of fans would go a long way. Seating is a little cramped. The service was very good. Prompt and courteous. That was nice. Twehe food was decent, the Manistee my wife liked. The fries we didn't like. The price is slightly high moderate. Not horrible for the location. I would try it again-MVP

Captain Lou’s is a total gem! The food was absolutely spectacular. The tacos were my favorite. The atmosphere is unbeatable with fresh lake air, a fun and lively vibe, and great views. Our server was kind, attentive, and quick, making us feel right at home. What really stood out was how family-friendly the whole place is. Our little ones were welcomed with smiles and had just as much fun as we did. This is the kind of spot that makes for a perfect day out — whether you’re grabbing a bite with the kids or hanging out with friends. Highly recommend Captain Lou’s — we’ll definitely be back!

Classic South Haven harbor spot! We stopped by at the end of the season and enjoyed a fun, casual evening waterside — definitely more about the atmosphere than fine dining, but still a great experience. We ordered one of Captain Lou’s famous perch baskets and a shrimp basket, starting off with the spicy cheese curds (our server warned us they were spicy — and they were, but delicious!). They were out of several beers on the menu, but we eventually found something we liked. The perch was excellent — perfectly cooked with a generous portion. The shrimp and fries basket was good but more standard, with fries cooked perfectly and shrimp just a touch overdone. The cocktail sauce was excellent, and the staff were friendly and efficient. All in all, a great local spot for relaxed harbor vibes, tasty fish, and good service

Spending a couple days in beautiful South Haven Michigan. We stopped at Captain Lou’s and had a great time. The service was great! Ella and Julian were fantastic and helped to make our visit incredible. If you’re in the area stop there. Great drinks! Great atmosphere!

High-end Italian cuisine in a cozy, intimate atmosphere. Excellent service and friendly staff. I highly recommend the potato soup! The bread and season oil and cheese dip was very good. Our particular dinner was the lasagna, but as it was towards the end of the day, it came out over-cooked, but the manager comped it for us, so kudos there. The wait staff is very friendly and will do all they can to provide you with the best experience possible (if you get Serene, you hit gold). Portions are generous and large enough to split for those with smaller appetites. Prices are up there, but you get what you pay for. Worth a trip back!

I used to work here years ago! the atmosphere can’t be beaten! Jeremy and Joanne are the best servers! Amazing personalities and will give you the most welcome service :) Food is always great!!! I come here at least once a year the last few years for shrimp sambuca and it’s always 1000/10 def recommend !!!! I promise you won’t be disappointed if you try it! it’s my favorite!!

The place is nice and cozy with a good vibe. The pan fish and the calamari were really good, but the pizza was not as expected. The pizza was similar to the frozen pizza you get from the supermarket. The service was super slow, we waited from an hour and half for our food, and the waitress apologized several times. The waitress was very nice, helpful, and gentle but they should at least warn people about the waiting time. I suggest asking them about time before entering.

I made a reservation at Tello while visiting a small town, anticipating difficulty getting a table for our group of five. Many restaurants in the area didn’t take reservations, so I booked in advance to be safe. In hindsight, it wasn’t necessary—the restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived. Unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming. Service was painfully slow, and our waiter was so awkward that it made everyone at the table uncomfortable. The bread was a promising start, but the accompanying oil tasted off—definitely not the quality you’d expect from extra virgin olive oil. When the food finally arrived, it was hit or miss. The standout was the Bolognese, which was rich, tender, and flavorful—truly well done. The Margherita pizza, however, was completely average. The butternut squash ravioli had potential but was overwhelmed by the taste of red bell pepper in the filling and was drowning in flavorless oil. It was just okay. The chicken Caesar salad was the biggest miss—overloaded with oregano or a similar herb that coated your mouth and made it unpleasant to eat. My friend couldn’t finish it. To top it off, the soda was flat, and service was so slow we didn’t bother asking for a replacement. Overall, the experience ranged from disappointing to mediocre. Unless you’re craving the Bolognese and have time to spare, I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to dine here.

Fantastic!!! We're sort of foodies from Chicagoland and we think probably a bit hard to please. Tello is awesome!!! Now, if they get too busy, you can't blame service. That happens. However, we came on a Sunday and it was fabulous!!!

Made a reservation for a group of 14 golfers for dinner last Saturday. Table was ready and waiting for us when we arrived. Server (Joann) was friendly, efficient, fun, and knowledgable. The food was over-the-top excellent. Chef Kevin did an amazing job. Bartender Abby received a round of applause for her excellent work. I highly recommend Tello's for a wonderful dining experience in South Haven.

We were a group of 4 in a Saturday night. Not busy at all. The ambiance was amazing but the service and food was not. Our waitress came to the table and got our drink orders and only gave 2 of us water. She tried memorizing our order but that was a fail. We all ordered side salads to start.When our main entrees she didn’t bother to clear them prior too and we had to ask her to take the empty plates. I ordered the Marquita pizza and it was just like frozen pizza. The chicken Marsala was good but the broccolini was so hard I couldn’t eat it. We will find another Italian restaurant to try.

The server was great but the food not so much! Stale chips!- their kettle chips were super stale. They do not make these fresh daily they were gross. My Hamburger was basically raw. I couldn’t even force myself to eat it so my boyfriend finished it. Even he said yeah that’s pretty raw! And he likes his rare. But the service was good and the drinks tasted good. I did like that you could try the oysters and just pay for them individually. We got 2 of each kind (3kinds). It was fun to sample them. We had a good view! The friends good will was setting by sail.

What Happened to this place? Did it come under new ownership? We come here every year and this year the drinks were horrible. Your homemade sour mix for the Long Island iced teas taste like crushed baby aspirin. We used to love these drinks and now they taste very gross. We tried it twice and both times on two different days. I hope you go back to the old recipe. The lobster sandwich filling was good, but the bread was stale. The kettle chips were all crushed and small pieces and the yellow jacket bees on the river boat were horrific. You do know you can set traps for them don’t you? Lastly, every year that we would come to the bar and the river boat at the same time of year is normally packed. However this year we were the only people sitting at the bar at 5 PM , which goes to show other people are feeling the same way . We came back for a second try on the river boat and there was no one there at 6 PM.

I read the reviews. We're locals and hadn't been in quite awhile. One thing that stuck out to me, good or bad review, the owner responded! I knew they care about their food, drinks, and business. So glad we went because EVERYTHING was great! Sara, our server was awesome! Kind, interesting, fun, efficient! The runner brought the food quickly with a smile. The drinks were cold, the shrimp tacos were great, the perch basket was too, the fruit cup was well worth the $3 upgrade, the atmosphere was a little bit of paradise with music and the view! We'll be back!! Kind of amazing it was this good as old as Idler is, being waterfront, and at 6:15 on a Friday in August (BTW the host got the two of us in immediately)!

If you’re going to up-charge $1 to sub chips for REDSKIN POTATOES….I should get exactly that. Instead, I was met with an Idaho potato, baked and smashed into the bowl. It also took an hour and 10min to get a pulled pork sandwich, and a side Caesar salad.

Great place!! Had great food, service and the atmosphere was wonderful. Because it was the blueberry festival we thought it would take a long time to be waited on and get our drinks/food as it was busy but our waitress was amazing. She was friendly and efficient. We will be back next time were in town

We had a great dinner on 8/31. Our server was super sweet and accommodating. We had a little mess up with our martini but they fixed it right away. This was our 2nd time here and we came back because our first time was so good too.

We love the atmosphere and the service, that's why we keep coming back. The food was okay on our 3rd visiting last Saturday. We ordered BBQ combo platter and Sweet pepper crab soup. The corn was soggy and mushy. The ribs were salty from the dried rub. The soup also a little bit on a salty side. But this won't stop us from going back, so we can try on other menu.

Atmosphere was great, clean place nicely decorated. Skinny margarita had no sweet element at all, just $15 of tart. Mocktail was low effort, basically Mango juice with jalapeno. The food was all solid but lacked salt. Honest review is 3.5 stars, not a bad place, good service but food and drink need a little bit of work. They've got a lot right but need a little bit of help to get over the edge from good to great. The pickled carrots and picko were way good!

This is a great find in South Haven! The chips & queso for the appetizer is very authentic, also loved the margarita options. Good atmosphere& friendly staff!

Let me set the scene: I was vacationing in South Haven with a small group of friends. We were looking for a traditional Mexican restaurant to dine at for lunch, and we found Su Casa. We thought "Oh, they have some good reviews! Let's check it out." We enter the restaurant, which was clean, welcoming, and vibrant. We were greeted upon arrival by the bartender. Our server came, introduced himself, and quickly took our drinks orders. Once he came back, we had decided on the House made Chips and Salsa to start us off. This is where our experience began to decline. The chips were overcooked, and under salted. The salsa options were served in small sauce cups and not your typical wide-rimmed salsa bowl. Mind you, it cost $7 for runny salsa, bland pico, and a few slices of pickled carrots. We thought to put this unappetizing appetizer behind us and order entrees. I cannot give you the exact dishes everyone in my group ordered, but none of us were pleased with our meals. The meats were dry and bland, the rice was undercooked, and the tortillas were stiff and flaky. To say I was disappointed in this experience would be an understatement. While I can appreciate a great staff with a fun atmosphere, I would not be able to recommend the food at this establishment which is a shame because I feel it held so much potential.

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been too in a long time. The food is so fresh and delicious. The wait staff is excellent too. Can't wait till our next visit to South Haven.

We did take out...and it was terrible. The chips were supposed to have Queso-not included and the chips tasted like cardboard. My steak for my fajitas was way over cooked-no flavor either. ordered corn tortillas for all and we all got flour. Will not order again. Everyone was equally disappointed and cost 72.00 for 3 take out orders of fajitas.

Great food great atmosphere, the staff was amazing, made us feel very relaxed. The restaurant is very clean and modern.

Cool setting. Right in the water, accessible from a boardwalk that gives it an extra pizazz. If you are on the river side you get a great view of the marina and the ships coming through. Not as nice on the other. Food was okay. Got the walleye sandwich and wasn't blown away. Burger was pretty good. The nachos were solid. Beer selection was a little lacking, or at least the draft selection. Figured they would have more local options.

I was impressed with how quickly I was served by the bartender and how friendly she was but I was disappointed in the quality of the drinks. I like sweet tasting drinks and ordered the strawberry shoreline that had vodka in it and the sweeteners they used tasted very cheap and extremely artificial. Also, I expected the drink to have more alcohol in it for being the price of $12. I wasn’t even buzzed and 90% of the cup was filled with ice and 3 half cut strawberries. Aesthetically it wasn’t pleasing to the eye either. It looked more like a strawberry fruit water. On the other hand I really liked their frozen drinks. I got the rum runner which was a frozen blend of strawberries and bananas and it had an orange peel on the side. It tasted sweet and like there wasn’t any alcohol in it. I definitely thought I would have been buzzed after ordering my second drink here but I felt completely sober which was disappointing since I ordered another $12 drink. The view and atmosphere of this place is amazing to watch the boats go by and have people wave at you. But I was disappointed in the quality of the drinks. This place has the potential to be so much more but it’s still lacking.

Great setting to enjoy a craft beer and watch the boats and the ducks. I really enjoyed the coconut shrimp.

This place is setting on the water with a wonderful veiw of the marina. The food was very good, the servers were extremely polite and fast. I definitely recommend stopping in!

Wow. I was so impressed. The food was absolutely delicious, I think I could eat that burger every day for a week and not get tired of it:) And sitting alongside the river and watching sailboats come in and the drawbridge raising and lowering was such a cool experience as well.

A beach shack that gets packed on weekends and nice afternoons — or at least the time I stopped in. Super rustic, tiki style layout with great views of the river, a lot of pub style food —- burgers, wraps, nachos and perch baskets —- a very laid back spot. Great service and a fun place when the weather’s nice.

My husband and I only ordered coffee (two 16oz lattes) but were impressed with the variety of menu items and baked goods that Julia’s had to offer. Lattes were great, not too sweet. Great space indoors, and had a nice outdoor patio area, too! We would consider coming back if we had more time during our trip.

Cafe Julia is a breakfast staple in the community. Also open for a great sandwich or salad for lunch! A solid visit year-round for delicious, well-priced baked goods and drinks ready to please all ages. Staff is always friendly and actually care. Go here and you will not be disappointed!

Everything about this place is amazing! The latte was not too sweet and was perfect! The GF brownie and blonde I got were divine. The wrap (avocado, bacon, egg and cheese) was so delicious ! The salsa it came with was a great consistency for a burrito and tasted so fresh. It was not just some canned salsa it was divine.

You walk in and then think, “yes- this is perfect”. Soft music, cool atmosphere- and my bacon, egg and cheese bagel sandwich was incredible. Nice chew to the bagel, fresh, perfectly scrambled and fluffy eggs. Crispy, thick bacon. I’m full and happy.

Great spot for a pastry, sandwich, coffee, etc. they offer gluten free baked goods that are so tasty! They also allow you to make any sandwich gluten free with the GF bread. We loved it so much that we visited twice in one day! A must stop when you’re in the area! Highly recommend that GF brownie and GF carrot cake!

Bohemian wrap was 10/10. Very fresh. Vanilla latte didn’t taste much of vanilla, but the food here is amazing. They have outdoor seating and have dog bowls.

I only had the small tub of Greek tuna salad but it was better than the original. The staff is hard at work to please people with no stopping during the lunch rush. We were fortunate to seat all eight plus of my party despite some tight spaces.

They were friendly enough, but the quality of the food just wasn't there. First of all, they sell Starbucks brand coffee, not their own brew so keep that in mind. Also the chai was very watered down and bland. Finally, the cinnamon rolls... They were mediocre at best. They had the consistency of a dinner roll and you had to heat it up yourself. There was nothing terrible, but it wasn't worth the hype. I'd liken it to a semi decent airport cafe.

I LOVE this place!! The quiche is delicious! I also had the cinnamon roll(s).. like 3 of them -in 3 days. . My vanilla soy latte was outstanding! Rachel is great! The people working there are super friendly and welcoming! I wish there was 1 in Chicago suburbs! It was my favorite in all of South Haven!!

Delicious coffee! It’s modeled after starbucks and tastes amazing! And let me say, their bakery items were out of this world!!!! The chocolate chip muffin was to die for!!! And the biltmore was delicous! EDIT: We are going back tomorrow to try the scones and the coffee cake, thanks for responding!

Great location near the public beach, across from the bed and breakfast where we stayed recently. We enjoyed the cinnamon rolls and Danish (cherry and blueberry). There's a small eat in area but several outdoor picnic tables provide space to devour your purchase. The line of customers forms prior to opening to get first choice!

It was a pleasant stop at the Bunde Bakery today. This was our first visit and the customer service was outstanding and so was the quiche and cinnamon bun. Thank you so much!

I thought I was supporting a local small business. It's just a starbucks in disguise. It's just a warning to anyone actively boycotting starbucks. The one positive note was that the staff was friendly.

One of my favorite early morning cafes in the area. I stop in every weekend I’m in town and this place is very consistent. It’s by no means a quick stop and shop. I get the biltmore and two cherry danish for the kids every single time. They are always excellent.

The food is great but be advised, most meals do not come with a side, and those that do come with chips. While chips are ok, they aren’t exactly filling, so expect to pay $4+ extra per meal for a real side dish. For two, with just water, our bill came out to be just shy of $40. Pretty expensive for elevated bar food. We enjoyed our meals though and likely will return, but won’t order sides in the future.

This is a composite of two visits. My first stop was for a burger and fries, and although it looked the part, the burger was a very average 6/10 for me. The fries were good and the service/atmosphere were good. The SECOND try was the chicken and waffles... wow, 8.7/10. The chicken, crispy on the outside, juicy and tender inside. The waffle was sweet and delicious. The blueberry jam was wonderful and the fries were somehow better than last time. Would like to try the chicken amd potatoes as well, but that's for trip #3. Will return and definitely recommend.

We went to The Lodge for lunch. In the mood for burgers. They advertised, smash burgers, and sounded good to us. I ordered The Cure, and my wife ordered a kids' cheeseburger because they didn't offer a single on the menu. Both of us "upcharged" to fries over kettle chips. One water and one iced tea. The burgers are not what we consider smash burgers, but they were fine. It seems like a term that is used often and covers different types of burgers. Overall on a 10 scale, I'd go 5.5/6 out of 10. Be nice to offer a single burger, didn't like the $3 upcharge for fries either. The service was fine, no issues there. Might be open to try again. Probably not. Your call-MVP

First time here... I got the shakedown which was a fish wrap with fish sauce and everything else I would ever want on it! It came with chips and then waitress Samantha suggested the onion sauce which blew me away with some sweetness and some nice kick! My new favorite restaurant in South Haven

I was looking for a local spot with great food and hit the jackpot! The onion rings were the best I have ever had! The pretzel and beer cheese were delightful, the pretzel texture was superb. Fried pickles had a bite back. Spinach dip was so good. Everyone was happy with their dishes. I had the chicken and waffles, sweet and savory was spot on. Would highly recommend! I even bought a shirt!

This is by far the best restaurant we have tried during our multiple visits to South Haven. Our table had the chicken dumpling soup, broiled chicken tenders, spicy chicken sandwich with blueberry sauce, and Mac and cheese. Everything was honestly delicious and the food came out very quickly. Our server was attentive and kind, and everything was also very clean. Will definitely be back in the future!

Service, food and atmosphere where amazing. They had several TVs to watch the college food ball games. Prices were reasonable and the smash burgers were flavorful.

Stopped in on a Friday night for the first time, ordered Nachos Supreme with jalapeños and an unsweetened iced tea. The chips and salsa were ok, as previously mentioned by other reviews they are not made in-house and are thicker. The salsa was different, couldn’t put my finger on what is was. Nachos arrived very fast. Looked delicious but once started eating them there was no flavor. The beef and chicken has no seasoning, lettuce flavor overpowered the chicken flavor. Also the other pictures shows all the liquid at the bottom, i don’t like that for my nachos, bottom half of the nachos were soggy. Glad i asked for jalapeños because they had flavor. Overall wouldn’t order them again. Service was ok, not overly friendly. Probably won’t be back with other options in the area. Total bill with 15% tip was $22. The $4 ice tea was a surprise.

Great food!! One of the best Mexican restaurants we’ve been to. I would recommend it for anyone who is in the area. Enjoying some margaritas while watching the Michigan game. Manuel is a great waiter, very polite and friendly.

I love the multicolored chips with the delicious salsa. The creamed spinash and tacos had a ton of flavor as well. All seasoned right, brought to the table hot and in a timely manner. Really good! The service was appreciated! Very kind staff who worked hard to serve their customers. Our water cups stayed full, and the service was great! The atmosphere was memorable. The environment was lively. Sports were on the televisions, great decor, and lively music. Great place to come for a good time. Overall, I loved the experience at Los Ranchos restaurant. Great Mexican food and lovely vibe!

I’m gonna give it three stars I don’t know if it necessarily deserves this, but the food was good in the atmosphere was good. My bad part was the service. The guy sat us he gave us. Our drinks took our order and then disappeared. My drink was empty for a good 15 too 20 minutes while the food was being prepared he actually never even came back. Someone else came back with the food and gave it to us and then I guess she took over a server because she was the one that refilled my drink. I would really love to give this place five stars, but because of the service that we got, I couldn’t do it.

Changed cooks and food was about tasteless. Shrimp was nasty stomach still churning and that was 4 hrs ago. Left o v er h alf of entree on table

My favorites are chocolate donuts, biscuits and gravy, and soft cinnamon donuts. If this was baseball, the donuts would clearly be a homerun! The service is always amazing! The staff is always kind! The atmosphere is awesome. The bakery is quaint, comfortable, and has a nice vibe. Golden Brown Bakery is a hit!

Oh wow! This place is so awesome! The doughnuts are fresh and so tasty! We also ordered food from the cafe adjoined and let me tell you! Hands down! The best turkey club I’ve EVER! Had. Folks working are so friendly and took time out of their day to chat with me about mine. A must if your in south haven! Thanks y’all!

Very friendly. We went on a weekend with great weather, and even though they were busy they knew how to help quickly. Loved all the goodies we got! Will definitely go back again.

Unpretentious Cafe and bakery. The Cafe is where you order at counter then sit down and they bring you the food. Classic American options, decently priced. The food specials are great! Vegetarian options. The bakery has gluten free options!

Grabbed a few donuts and some coffee to go! Everything was fresh and delicious. The store is a little old school but I appreciated that they had more than just drip coffee to go with my treats! Prices were reasonable and there was lots of variety to pick from. We got one donut, one fritter, two donut holes, a latte and a bottle of apple juice for 10 dollars.

They have amazing donuts and the absolute BEST gluten free donuts I've ever had. Recently, I had a less than perfect experience and the owner went above and beyond to make it right.

This is a walk-up-to-the-window hot dog joint open seasonally. They have a number of good options including a "craft your own." The dogs were good, and that's saying something from a guy who lives and breathes Chicago style. I got the Godfather. Dog was tender and toppings were spot on. It gets 4 stars only because of no seating and seasonal availability. Its a great quick bite with good rich flavors and affordable prices. Check it out!

This place is a perfect grab- n- go hotdog joint, and we'll worth it. Price is worth it all day to me. I cant go without getting my pups a 100% beef hotdog plain. They are very generous with toppings and the buns are the BEST! No dry buns, super soft! I usually grab 2 because I can't decide. Shout out to plain Jane, Detroit Coney, CYO(create your own). They have 9 choices plus, dog of the week(chef special) so glad I found this place. I will be a repeat For Sure! 😋

Grab some hotdogs and walk down to the marina for lunch with a view! We ordered a couple different kinds and even got a plain dog for the pup. Delicious!

We came from Chicago to visit over the 4th of July weekend. I ordered the sea dog and a beyond bratwurst. It was very hot that day and I asked for some ice to fill my ice tea and she did! Thank you for everything!

BEST HOG DOGS EVER!! The breakfast dog was the most amazing thing I’ve ever eaten and the gravy was just... lets just say I could drink it from a straw. 10/10 would recommend!! Also, the jalapeño popper- DELICIOUS. Cream cheese and hot dogs? Who would have thought? It’s great!

A local friend recommended this place while we were on vacation, and it did not disappoint! We each had a baby waffle cone of different ice cream choices, and we each LOVED it! We will definitely stop again if we’re in the area!

Very odd experience. I went 2 days in a row with 2 other people. Day 1, we all got small, melted cups of ice cream. Day 2, we got much bigger servings because we ordered cones. On day 2, we also picked out 2 shirts, no prices shown. Total was 2 cents from $100....... Must have to be from SoHa to understand their servings and prices. Also, the cotton candy is the same recipe as another ice cream shop in MI. Thought that was strange.

Great stop in S Haven. The ice cream was A+. I loved the hard scooped chocolate malted. Lines back up under the tent. 2 order windows and a pick up window to the side. Seating is basically just picnic tables on the edge of the parking lot. That is my only knock on the place...but its a big shortcoming for a place this popular and crowded. Create a unique, dedicated seating area and Sherman's is instantly 5 stars

Incredible ice cream! The service was fast and the staff were so nice. We had a huge order of over 20 people and the team did a fantastic job handling the order with no errors. While I was not a fan of the location being next to a busy road, I think the barrier could be extended or closed off to make the ordering area a little safer for kids. The location is prime between the Jellystone resort and the lake though. One thing to be aware is that the portions are massive! I ordered the yellow cake batter and it was absolutely delicious. We will be returning the next time we are in the area.

On our trip to SH we noticed a line here every time we would drive by and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Their ice cream was delicious- and the serving sizes are HUGE so either go small or think about sharing. Even though there was a line it went very quickly. Will be back next time we are in the area!

So glad Sherman's is reopened. This iconic ice cream place has been a favorite for many for years. And you won't be disappointed too. Service is top notch and streamlined with electronic pickup making long lines go quickly. The only problem is the huge variety making choices a challenge. Portions are out of this world bring an appetite and a friend to share.

This was a tough call for me. I know this is a very popular place and I wanted to like it…. however, I had a bothersome service issue that I’m having a hard time looking past. The upside is that the ice cream was good and the service for everybody, but me, was fast. The downside is that the ice cream is way overpriced, but more importantly, I had a service issue that I was unhappy with. After my order had been taken, I had observed several people that were in line behind me were being served. I also noticed that they had been given a fob that lit up when their order was supposed to be ready. After watching several people get served ahead of me, I finally asked, “ was I supposed to receive one of those?” I was told not necessarily. I watched what I realized was my order being given to somebody behind me in line…. His wife realized what was going on and made it clear that when she was handed her stuff with a duplicate item, which would’ve been mine in replacement of the item initially given to her husband, the staff told her that they couldn’t take back any mistakes and gave her husband the second ice cream that was supposed to be mine. Now I was left watching somebody who had two ice creams and I had none. Through a few more comedy of errors I finally got my ice cream … somewhere between 10 to 20 people behind me were served first and I was a bit frustrated to say the least. No apologies from the staff for the miscommunication on their part, just par for the course…..I guess. Slightly better, communication, and better handling of the overall situation and I probably would’ve given them four stars, but they really drop the ball at every opportunity that a correction could’ve been made. I’m not eager to go back

Very disappointed. I really hoped that some of the reviews were just exaggerated but nope. We had the Delmonico Steak $49 & the 2 lobster tails $36. Lobster was cooked perfectly. 1) The menu had only 4 steak choices. Filet Mignon, Kansas City Strip, NY Strip and Delmonico. Kansas City strip and NY strip are the same steak, only exception Kansas city is bone-in and the NY strip is boneless. Both are cut from the t-bone. So why do they have both? Where is a sirloin , Porterhouse or plain ribeye? I love sirloin but they did not serve it. 2) No seasoning on the steak other than chargrilled flavor. A little enhancers would be great like a little butter and garlic. 3) No steak sauce served. Some people like to eat their steak with and/or without steak sauce. I would eat half without and then with steak sauce. 4) Only serve 2 salad dressings - blue cheese or ceasar. I could not believe it! Especially when most people prefer ranch, italian or balsmic. 5) I sent my first salad back due to so many slimy nasty pieces of lettuce. They brought me another one but there were several bad pieces of lettuce in it as well. The salad was only lettuce, a few cherry tomatoes cut in half and onions. No cheese or croutons. You can see picture below. This is the first presentation of your meal and I would think you would not want the salad or appetizer to have issues. Overall pretty disappointed in this restaurant. Probably won't go back. The service was almost too good. Loved our waitress but she was at the table almost too often and grabbing dishes before we were ready for them to be picked up. But she was a great waitress.

We came here to celebrate our friend getting married. We wanted a nice place to eat dinner and made a reservation for 9 people. We waited over an hour and 30 minutes until we finally got our food. There was a hair in our food and some of it was cold. We talked to the manager more than once about our service. We got our check back and asked for some kind of compensation for the awful service and the manager laughed and asked what we suggested.

Coming from a city with some of the best food and steakhouses in america, our expectations were grounded, but what we experienced doesn’t even happen at McDonalds. We came in for our 715 appointment at 710. Sat down promptly, and then nothing. Took 10 minutes for us to be recognized again for waters on our table. Multiple servers looked at us and looked away, not even checking in. Nearly 30 minutes later we walked out, nothing put in as an order. SAVE YOUR MONEY. If you expect to be looked at as a ghost, then go to Sophie’s. Embarrassingly unacceptable to be the only “steakhouse” in South Haven. Made reservations for my husband’s birthday dinner! Everything was amazing! The steaks, the bread, the salad, the crab stuffed mushrooms, the twice baked potatoes were done to perfection! Carrot cake was great! We ended up taking it home the piece was so big! Tonya, our waitress was excellent!!! Whoever prepared our steaks needs a medal!!!🏅 Perfection. We could not think of one thing they could have done better!

Sophie’s is an excellent choice in South Haven. We live in Chicago and have plenty of great steakhouses; it wouldn’t be fair to compare to Chicago. But the food is excellent and holds its own. The wine is a good value. The bartender (Jennifer) is wonderful, and the waitstaff (Diamond in our case) are so nice and attentive. We had a wonderful night on a busy Blueberry Festival weekend.

We came to Sophie’s Steak House for a bachelorette party and had the BEST time!! The steaks were cooked perfectly, so juicy and flavorful, and the lobster mac and cheese was hands down the best I’ve ever had. The drinks were amazing too, super creative and strong in the best way. What really made the night special was the staff!! Every single person was kind, welcoming, and made us feel celebrated. We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend for any special occasion. 💕🥂✨

I have to say the person waiting on us was friendly but I felt the portions were small for the price! 25.00 for 3small scoops of ice cream in dishes and it wasn’t even ice cream consistency! It was like soup within 5 min. and it wasn’t very hot outside. I was very disappointed and won’t be going back! We have been going there for years and it was so disappointing!

The ice cream tasted great, but we won't be back due to egregious pricing. We ordered 3 small dishes for my wife, 6-year old, and 2- year old, and a waffle cone for myself. Total at checkout was $37.58 and my jaw dropped. It tainted what was otherwise a great time out with the family. As indicated by similar recurring reviews, this is a known issue.

They got me once but they won't get me again. $8 for one scoop of ice cream they don't have the ice cream prices on the wall. You don't see how much it cost until you get to the counter.. Go to Sherman's two doors down much cheaper and in the same ice cream. I should have checked Sherman's first.

I'm not one to write bad reviews or reviews at all but the entire staff was incredibly rude to my group. Only one person in my group was able to order, and when we tried to explain that we were still ordering, we were rushed to the check out. When we explained to the person cashing us out what happened, the girl at the register next to us gave us an attitude. As someone in customer service, I understand being busy and overwhelmed but being rude to customers and not letting people order is actually insane.

OMG talk about overpriced ice cream three scoops people it cost $19.95. Yes the ice cream is good and yes, they are well known and they have a good name but there is no reason to have an ice cream costing 20 bucks for three scoops. To be honest, I would not go there again especially because of the pricing I do understand everything is getting more expensive but at the end of the day this is ice cream I mind you. We didn’t even get the waffles cones we got a cup so to repeat a cup with three scoops in it was almost 20 bucks.

I ordered a hot fudge sundae- with ONE scoop of oreo icecream/hot fudge/ whip cream. It cost almost $14.00. Also the hot fudge wasn't hot but tasted like wax. What a rip off!!! Will never eat icecream there again, in South Haven!!!!! Had better at other places.

We spent the past week in South Haven enjoying all of its loveliness. Kilwins is a sweet spot for us! We appreciate the quality ingredients. The staff is so attentive! It will always be a stop for us every time we get to South Haven!

My large family ordered pizza here last week and it was not what I would consider restaurant quality pizza… maybe they were just having an ‘off’ night and had they refunded my parents or offered to remake the order I wouldn’t say anything but they did not… all of our pizzas were burnt and it wasn’t appealing at all. I’m not one to complain but seriously do better!

If you’re considering ordering this pizza.. Let me save you the time. PLEASE DON’T!! This pizza was sloppy & not good. Bread sticks were burnt. We ended up throwing this away. There were 7 people in my party and not a single person could justify nor bare after tasting this pizza. It literally looked like someone threw up on this BBQ pizza.

I’m not going to lie. This pizza was pretty awful. My 5 year old niece said 10 👎🏼. Crust is chewy. Margharita pizza is not like other places fyi. Sauce is mid. We got three different pizzas for 8 people and no one liked it 😭.

We ordered carry-out so can’t comment on service/atmosphere. We had pineapple &ham and a supreme (we chose toppings); both very good. It is a thin crust but we like that. Would definitely order next year when we come back!

I don't often write reviews, but felt compelled to say that this ranks as the worst pizza I have ever had! We didn't order anything fancy just pepperoni and green pepper, but it was about as thin as a piece of paper and had absolutely no flavor, cheese didn't even go all the way to edges. Side salad was pretty sorry too.

My only hope is that it doesn’t come up later tonight so I have to taste it again. My family ordered a huge amount of food. We god barely any toppings on our pizzas, no spinach on our garlic bread that we paid extra for, one of our pizzas wasn't even cut! I ordered a 16.00 Greek salad and got 5 olives, no dressing, and barely any other toppings. Not a good experience. The pics don't look like the real pizza at all!!! Very over priced food

We had Subs N More delivery to a family dinner while staying at Lake Bluff Inn & Suites. We ordered the 3 foot warm ham/turkey cheese and also the 3 foot warm steak and cheese. They were still warm upon delivery, and the family all complimented how good the subs more. It was a big hit! Our delivery person was super nice as well.

Arrived when we were told pizza would be ready. Waited 30 minutes for staff to realize they forgot to make one of the pizzas They were more concerned with their Bibgy than getting orders out. Waited another 30 minutes for the last pizza only to realize they did not make our cheese bread and said we didn’t order it. They gave us the owners phone number. We left a message with no response.

Down to earth spot. Grinder subs! Great deal $12 for 7 inch sub, chips & drink. Yummy fresh bread. Staff very kind. Great price. Vegetarian options. Indoor and outdoor seating.

Basically a dump. Overpriced frozen food put through a pizza oven level. Served on Styrofoam plates. The $4 1/2lb of fries was actually 34 fries (we counted, it fed one child), that's 13 cents per fry. I called them on it and they just lied about it. They don't have prices on their in store menu either, which is sketchy. Decided to do a little experiment on how many fries and how many pounds a McDonald's large fry is, which cost $3.49. There are 102 fries and it weighs .35 lbs. More than double the fries and 2/3 of the weight. Their advertisement of .5lbs of fries is an out and out lie.

Guys come on how is this acceptable to sell? I ordered the small nachos for $10 and they are nothing more than a pile of tortilla chips with shredded cheese melted/hardened on top. I mean I've made better prepared nachos in the microwave when I was 7. The cheese gets tough almost immediately, the ground beef was flavorless, and the chips were stale. For $10 this is extremely disappointing. I mean I get it, if people buy it, why change it? But seriously just having a cheese sauce on these instead of melting shredded cheese would make these 3x as good. My friend got a cordon bleu sub and said it was pretty good so I guess there's that. For the same price range Admiral Jacks has, on the flip side, some of the best nachos I've had. Please make these better or take them off the menu, really not cool.

Great find ! Definitely seemed to be the more local/less touristy place. I got the farmers hash, and it was bomb. It was very unique and so good. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food too. 10/10 would eat here again.

Went here on a Sunday after church, It was pretty busy so we ended up waiting about 45 minutes to get seated. I was excited because of the reviews on Google and it looked pretty busy so I was hoping for really good experience at least with the food, I ordered biscuits and gravy with egg on top. I got two eggshells on my eggs, hair on my utensil and too much pepper on my biscuits and gravy this is a comfort food for me so it was disappointing The hostess was really young girl, and she wasn’t very friendly, but our waitress was.

a cinnamon roll yall could appreciate. So tasty and although the frosting is ooey gooey it’s the right amount of sweet creamy cinnamon and tasty. Egg casserole with a hash brown base and fluffy eggs was scrumptious. Veg quiche of the day was tasty. We will be back.

I’ve lived in South Haven my whole life and this has got to be one of my favorite breakfast places in town. Good food (the cinnamon roll is my favorite) and friendly staff. The hostess was nice enough and one of the waitresses Tabbi is very lovely and cheerful. Would recommend it to anyone in town looking for a nice hot meal!

What a disappointment! Waited 30 minutes to get seated,food took forever to get and I asked for a crispy waffle and a side of biscuits and gravy, well the waffle sat so long on the plate that it was like a wet sponge and the biscuits and gravy were barely warm, aka cold! we also order the French toast and it had a funky taste and it was dense and heavy! Won’t be back! Going back to Blinkers!

Great place to see a Brian McClure show. We travel to see his shows as often as we can. Very nicely decorated -- we loved the Greek owls in our corner 🦉. Friendly staff, decent food, excellent drinks. The chunky monkey drink was by far the best 🐒.

We had a great time - live music, delicious food and the best Lavender Lemonade I have ever had. Even came with a sprig of Lavender in it! When arriving, it is a little intimidating as there are no windows and it's very "closed" looking. But the inside is absolutely incredible! When we arrived, there was no seating, but the owner went above and beyond and got seats from the back for us with a small table so we could stay and enjoy the music and drinks. It was packed and she didn't have to do that, but we really appreciated it. We are so excited that this is here and are looking forward to making this a regular spot for date night. Note: 21 and up only. (We have kids but appreciated the atmosphere and noise level that wouldn't be achieved if there were kids.)

Such a cool place, outdoor, live band and great food! Service was also real good. We had a big party, they do the auto tip. Food was reasonably pretty card! Played bags, listened to music, eight off main drag and only minutes from the lighthouse! We’d be back!

Very unique and fun gastropub near downtown South Haven. They served our large party very well, food and drinks came out quick. The margarita flight was delicious. Our food was amazing! Service was great as well. Kids enjoyed the blocks and giant connect four too.

Came here on a Saturday for lunch. I ordered the brisket sandwich and my wife had the mahi tacos, both were delicious. The atmosphere is casual and the games and chalk kept my kids busy. Inside was modern and the staff was friendly. I would give everything a 8.5 out of 10.

I visited this spot with three friends, and overall, we had a fun night out with a few hiccups along the way. My friends each ordered drinks—a Long Island, a lavender mojito, and a Somethin' Sweet—and all of them said their drinks were tasty. We started with the onion petal appetizer, which came in a generous basket and was really good—crispy and flavorful. For our main courses, we tried a variety: Chicken Tikka Masala, the Pulled Pork Sammie, the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich, and the Gastropub Burger, which was mine. Everyone seemed happy with their meals, and both the regular and sweet potato fries were really good, but unfortunately, my burger came out pink even though I asked for it well-done. I only ended up eating half. Thankfully, our server Jose was quick to step in—he spoke with the manager and had it taken off the bill, which I really appreciated. Jose was honestly the highlight of the visit. Despite only being on his own for two days after just one day of training, he was friendly, attentive, and kept us laughing the whole time. Even with some other minor issues—like dirty silverware, no slushies, and a shortage of small plates—his great attitude made the experience much more enjoyable.

Was in town for the weekend and heard some live music, it was a nice night out so my wife wanted to eat outside. Host greeted us and sat us quickly, surprised me since it was a Friday night. Highly recommend the margarita’s they were so good. We ended up selecting the fried onion rings and cheese curds and they were delicious. Had to remember to leave space for the main entree. I ordered the spicy hot honey chicken sandwich and my wife ordered the brisket mac n cheese and they were both 🔥. Such a fun and local place to eat. I heard the owners live in the area so it’s awesome to support a local business.

Traveling back to Michigan from Wisconsin, we tried this little diner, I wish it was closer to home, the food was top notch. We got breakfast and the hashbrowns were 100% crispy, which I love. The omellete was excellent and so was the service. I highly recommend this diner if your on the west side of Michigan.

Good food great prices. And I get the appeal for servers to be a bit blunt if that is what they are going for but you can dial it down just bit and be more friendly it would be great. Like if you want the door closed all you have to do is put a sign letting people to do so.

We were looking for a good place to eat breakfast and decided to give Dave's Landing a try. Great place and highly recommend! The food was great, the chef/cook was slingin and slayin in the kitchen. We will be back tomorrow morning for the breakfast scramble. It's a small place, but if you have the patience (because they're busy) it is worth the wait! The wait staff was wonderful as well.

We were seated directly in front of the giant air conditioning unit. There were 2 booths empty, but dirty. When I asked if we could move to the booth because we didn’t want to sit under the air unit, I was told we had to stand outside since there were no clean tables!!! Then she made NO attempt to clear the tables! So we were “ banished” to the outdoors because we didn’t want to sit and freeze during our breakfast, not to mention that our food would have been cold within minutes! It is blowing full force , straight on this table and it is a giant industrial wall unit!! This is ridiculous! Then to be treated as if we were wrong to ask!! In MY many years as a server, I would have said “ yes, of course, let me clear that table off.” If busy, I would have said “ give me just a second to do.,.” Instead we were told , when asked nicely if we could move out from under the air conditioning unit, “!Well, then you have to go outside and stand until we can get a table cleaned!” You lost my business, and NOT just mine, but I plan on sharing this review on every source, such as google, yelp, etc…. I am also a neuromuscular therapist in the area, with many patients, and I will be spreading the word on the poor service and the unprofessional way we were treated!

Wow what a wonderful find while visiting South Haven. It's like one of these secret places that has the best of everything and I'm happy I found it. The blueberry peach pie is out of this world!! I have never tasted pie this good in my life and I've had many pies over the years. Please please please continue to make the blueberry peach pie.....it is simply the best and should win awards it is that amazing.

We have been visiting Southaven for years in the Summers. Recently I discovered Barden's farm market. I can't believe it took me this long to discover how cool of a place it is. They have a huge variety of items that are super convenient in one location. They have tons of local Michigan produce. Michigan products like blueberry, barbecue or bakery items. They have a small liquor store area and grocery items as well as nursery items. Check it out the next time you're in town!

I stumbled upon this gem of a produce store while passing by, and I’m so glad I listened to my gut feeling to stop in! The inviting parking and the sight of fresh produce outside immediately drew me in. I picked up some small potatoes, sweet corn, and fresh blueberries, and I can honestly say they taste just like home-grown. The green beans were a steal at just $2.00 a pound, and they were incredibly fresh. I cooked everything on the grill, and we enjoyed a nutrient-packed, refreshing meal. I wish I had this type of produce available in my city. I’m definitely coming back tomorrow for more green beans! Highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the area.

This place is okay if you want touristy kind of pickled goods and such. They have excellent pastries. The workers are all super nice. They sell Amish hand pies that are so good. They are $4 a piece but so good. I wish I had the recipe.

My recent experience at the China Buffet was nothing short of disappointing and concerning on multiple fronts. Upon entering the restaurant, I was met with empty buffet trays and a severely limited selection of food items, none of which looked appetizing or fresh. The quality of the food was subpar, leaving much to be desired in terms of taste and presentation. However, what truly alarmed me was the blatant disregard for sanitation practices observed throughout my visit. As I watched the staff members handle the food and salad bar without wearing gloves, I couldn't help but feel uneasy about the cleanliness of the establishment. The sight of them wiping down the surfaces with what appeared to be dirty rags from the kitchen only compounded my concerns. It was clear that basic hygiene standards were not being met, posing a serious risk to the health and safety of patrons. Overall, my experience at the China Buffet was marred by both the lackluster food quality and the alarming lapses in sanitation. It's deeply concerning to witness such negligence in a restaurant setting, and I would hesitate to recommend this establishment to anyone. Management must take immediate action to address these issues and prioritize the health and well-being of their customers. Until significant improvements are made, dining at the China Buffet remains a risk not worth taking.

I stopped in at the China Buffet in South Haven and really enjoyed the experience. The food was solid — I’d give it four stars. Good variety and everything was fresh. What really stood out, though, was the service and atmosphere. The staff was attentive and friendly, and the place had a welcoming vibe that made the meal even better. That part deserves five stars. Overall, a great spot if you’re in South Haven and looking for a good buffet.

Food was dry, stuck to the pan and others crusted over. The lettuce was rotten. I challenge any of the staff to fix a salad and eat it. I can't imagine them eating the majority of the food we found on the buffet. The ham was good.

This is a hidden gem! The building isn't the nicest but the quality of the food MORE than made up for it. Went on a Sunday around 430 and it was slammed as to be expected. Staff struggled to maintain the buffet and they were clearly understaffed but the employees were hustling and working extremely hard despite their adversities. I highly recommend this place if you are craving the stereotypical Chinese food found on buffets. Oh, and they also had crawfish which was surprising and it was actually very good.

We ordered takeout and it was delicious. Egg rolls and sesame chicken were the highlights, but the fried rice, sesame tofu and cashew chicken were also hits. Order was prepared quickly and completely accurate. Large portion sizes. My only recommendation is having tofu as an option for some main dishes (sweet and sour, lo mein, chow mein, etc) - I wasn't able to order those online.

One thing about me is, I love sipping on a good cup of coffee. As my girlfriend and I made our last stops in South Haven before heading back to Chicago, we knew we wanted to grab some coffee. We found this coffee shop mixed in with all of the shops in the area and were happy to stop in. The vibe was pretty chill, and the barista was friendly and helpful. I ordered a regular latte and my girl got the Chai Tea. All in all our drinks were good and got the job done. We were both satisfied with our purchase. We’ll have to stop back in when we’re back in South Haven again.

Very nice little independent coffee shop. Spacious old fashioned interior with wooden floors and chill music. My small latte had two shots of espresso and was tasty and very reasonably priced. There are a couple of autographed photos of Star Trek cast members hanging on the wall along with a number of other sci-fi works of art, in keeping with the flying saucer theme.

We have been traveling around Michigan for the past several years. Our focus is lake towns along Lake Huron, Lake Superior and of course my favorite, Lake Michigan. We were in South Haven for the day and exploring the town and we found a fabulous coffee shop - "The Flying Saucer". Great friendly service in a nice shop. The Capuchinos were amazing at a very good price. The counter staff were engaging and made you feel welcome. What more could you want, a great Capuchino in a beautiful lake town on Lake Michigan. If you like coffee, you have to stop at the Flying Saucer in South Haven.

Visiting from Indiana, heard the Flying Saucer had good coffee. We had our 1st French Press Coffee. Medium Roast. It was delicious. Had a nice selection of fresh baked goods. My friend like lemon so we got the lemon bar.. I'm not a big lemon person but it was so good. I had planned on just taking a bite but ate half. Highly recommend the lemon bar. My friend said it was like a lemon curd. Our barrister was so nice and knowledgeable. I wish I had gotten her name. Highly recommend the Flying Saucer.

My favorite coffee shop our little town has had. The coffee has amazing flavor, the owner and staff are lovely and the atmosphere is just tops. I highly reccomend the lavender London fog latte, I've never found one that is as good anywhere else. The caramel silk latte is a great 2nd choice!

The service is amazing. The staff is extremely respectful and polite. They are insanely fast getting orders out. Their coffee is, in my opinion, better than large corporations who have pretty good tasting coffee. Their prices are also very reasonable, with a large being around $6 and the food being around $4. 10/10 would recommend.

Our stay at Yelton Manor was lovely. The location allowed us to have morning walks to the marina and multiple beaches within minutes. Our room, Camelia, was almost perfect and spacious. I would, perhaps, recommend blackout shades, since there is no sleeping in with the sun beaming through the blinds. Matt and Victoria were helpful, kind, and diligent. Water and brownies are a nice touch. Thank you.

Lovely rooms - very nicely decorated with large comfortable bed. The house is full of lovely nooks and crannies stuffed full of books! Very close to a lovely beach and walkable to all the lovely restaurants and harbour walk. Breakfast was fine. The housekeeper/owner? seemed overworked or understaffed. Breakfast table was not cleaned and had sticky syrup on it. But overall I would go back and recommend this to others.

I had an excellent experience here and would highly recommend it to anyone in South Haven or visiting the area. The service was outstanding from the moment I walked in and the staff made me feel welcome and taken care of. The food was fresh, full of flavor, and served hot. Every detail showed real pride in what they do. The atmosphere was clean, comfortable, and perfect for relaxing with friends or family. If you are looking for a great spot in South Haven that combines quality, service, and value, this is it. I will definitely be coming back and telling others about it.

Huge disappointment!!! My husband and I booked the “honeymoon sweet” to celebrate our anniversary and stayed 2 nights. I believe it’s cleaning staff that lets you in and shows you your room. Our room was beautiful and very charming BUT the toilet didn’t flush…we had to take the top off and flush it manually. Oh yes then it overflows if you don’t manually stop it from doing so. There is no cold water in the bathroom sink so we had to brush our teeth in the tub. When we said something about this, we were told oh yes we know it’s broke. No one told us before and no one bothered to fix anything. Needless to say, not super romantic 😂 then we wake up to store bought muffins because whoever cooks was sick and the next morning no breakfast at all! They charge a fortune for a “bed and breakfast “ experience. We never saw the “in keeper” who we were told is available 24/7. They put a $50 credit for the 1 morning of no breakfast and won’t even respond back to an email about the lack of concern about anything. Terrible experience and won’t go back and it’s too bad because it’s a cute place. Also you need to understand when staying on the north shore of this little town, you have a tiny sliver of beach that is public and they are super pretentious about anyone going on a private beach even though there isn’t a sole out there. ADDENDUM: After reaching out a second time, we were given a fair credit for the problems we encountered.

Was a bit disappointed with our arrival. The woman who answered the door wasn’t aware that we payed for an early check in. The outdoor space needs a lot of work, everything was very over grown giving it a messy look. The room was also a bit run down, plugs not working and missing light bulbs. For $300 a night, I would expect more. The location couldn’t be beat!

My friend booked this accommodation through Priceline. Was very disappointed to learn it is not beachfront, as described in the listing. This was my 1st time staying at a B&B. There seemed to be a lot of rooms. Our room was nice (no view) but it did have a jacuzzi tub which we used. The room was freezing and there was no place to control the temperature. The beds are very firm. They do provide coffee, tea, water, brownies and fruit throughout the day. There is no ice machine and when I asked the only staff member there about ice, she said they were out and told me I could get ice at the convenience store. Also, we missed breakfast as it only runs from 8am to 10am but we were never informed of that. For what they charge a night, I would have rather gone to a 4☆ resort with a pool.

Looks like a dream, feels like a shrug — style over substance at Yelton Manor I booked Yelton Manor with high hopes, dazzled by its near-perfect 9.8 rating on Booking and charming aesthetic. The house itself is a gem — think lovingly curated sitting rooms straight out of a magazine, perfect for curling up with a book or pretending you're in a Nancy Meyers film. But beneath the polished surface, the experience quickly fell flat. We were promised drinking water on arrival, only to find the guest fridge consistently empty. When you're paying premium rates, “just drink the tap water” (chlorinated, by the way) isn’t exactly the welcome I had envisioned. Our room? Darling. Immaculately clean, wonderfully comfortable bed — credit where it’s due. Sadly, that was where the hospitality seemed to end. Breakfast was... peculiar. A self-serve coffee bar with no coffee (or mugs), and a host who reluctantly fetched some with the energy of someone deeply inconvenienced by a guest's existence. The actual breakfast was a minimalist masterpiece, if you're into that sort of thing: a single slice of toast wearing a whisper of avocado, two cherry tomatoes, micro greens, two eggs, a modest scoop of fruit, and the ambiance of being a bother. Salt, pepper, sauce, or even a simple “is everything alright?” — apparently too extravagant. Interacting with staff felt less like staying at a B&B and more like interrupting someone's afternoon. If you’re not up for hosting, perhaps hosting isn’t the calling. We polished off our meager plates and went elsewhere to feel human (and full). The building may be warm and inviting — shame the welcome wasn’t.

Brix has plenty of outdoor seating which is nice to have for South Haven, there is not table service as you'll need to go inside to order your food. It is quite pricey but the food did taste great, beyond most brew pubs. After ordering you'll get a number placard and a wait staff will bring your meal out. The bar is in a different room from where you order the food so also a separate line for that. House mixed drinks are $8 each so pricey as well. Staff was friendly, and being a Friday summer night in South Haven the place was packed, about an hour wait for the food. The line to get a drink was about 10 minutes. Thankfully the staff did have a cooler on the patio portion with water for easy water refills.

Great place to eat. A little hard to get a hold of on the phone depending on day/time you call. Nice location tucked off of main Street. Easy to walk to and from beach and lighthouse. Great for a large group. Indoor and outdoor seating.

After waiting an an hour and a half, our pizza came out so cold the cheese wasn't melted. Even after sending the pizza back to be remade it still came out cold. We will not eat there again.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Neat atmosphere as a former corner filling station. Most of the seating is outside. The pizzas are high quality thin crust. Appetizers didn't come any sooner than the pizzas, but they saw we we're with kids and we're otherwise extra attentive. Enjoyable selection of beers on tap.

Cool dog friendly place, with a large beer garden and beer selection. Very nice staff. Nice gourmet pizzas, but very crowded. So popular we had a 50 minute wait, so we ate gourmet hot dogs from the corner hot dog spot, the Chomp, instead. And that was great.

This place was good. The pizza was great and they had a good selection of drinks and craft beer. the only downside was there isn't much of a food selection other than pizza. The outdoor space is huge and it's a nice place to hang out on a sunny day in South Haven. It's also very dog friendly!

Awesome pizza thin crust baked to perfection in wood fired oven and server was fantastic. talked with us about area and what it is like in summer. Definitely will be going back Just visited again on 7/4. They have added things to the menu, especially appetizers. We did a wood fired asparagus drizzled with oil and parmesan cheese topped with an over easy egg. Very different but oh so good. Pizzas were all delicious, the kids loved it. They had like 20 beers on tap and offered some limited hard drinks. Staff all very friendly and always looking to help.

The man and woman working there were so kind and thanked us for coming by. A sweet, genuine store right down town offering blueberry goods of all kinds! I loved the cold blueberry drink options.

Located in downtown South Haven Michigan,this is such a s cute store selling everything blueberries. They sell fresh and frozen blueberries as well as soaps,jellies,tshirts and more. Staff super friendly. Owned by True Blue Farms located in Grand Junction. Definitely a "must stop" while visiting South Haven.

Loved the free samples and the jelly is delicious. Our kids loved the soda as well. Owner is very nice.

Walked in with our family with an intend to buy things from there and had my drink and my parents coffee in hand. Immediately the lady proceeds to say no drinks allowed , make sure you don’t spill and we don’t allow drinks in here. Sure put my stuff down and walked out without buying anything. I would understand if you had “clothes” but you don’t . Extremely rude and didn’t even care one bit. We legit were going to buy a bunch of stuff but not anymore . Won’t be stepping into this store ever again.

The ladies that work here are such angels! The cashier Dee gave me her blueberry keychain after my twin told her about mine getting broken and they didn’t sell that kind anymore, so she gave me hers which was like my old one. The lady doing samples was sweet and knowledgeable, and the whole vibe in the store is happy. These ladies, especially Dee are top notch! The store offers a large variety of blueberry items, clothes, dog toys, cook books, jams, syrups. Highly recommend!

I always have to stop at the Blueberry store when back in Michigan. Their products make great gifts for friends in southern Indiana. Some favorites are: blueberry mustard, blueberry butter, blueberry coffee, blueberry wine, blueberry pepper jam and, of course, regular blueberry jelly and jam.

wide variety of blueberries food such as jams, candies, blueberry knick knacks. But didn't see a pie! We bought jam, syrup, cherry preserves, dried cherries. tea candles.

I ordered a Jake's potato that is supposed to have sour cream butter bacon and chives but I got the potato with liquid cheese peppers and smoked sausage. The potato wasn't bad once I picked all the peppers off. Definitely not what I ordered

Not a lot of soul food places around here. The food was good. Customer service was okay, could be better but overall a decent choice for soul food. Location seems to be decent. I would come back if I was around again. Always supporting small businesses!

Great idea... a giant baked potato beyond loaded with all kinds of good stuff. my wife and i got a couple of these delicious spuds and enjoyed the view of lake michigan at south havens south beach. oh and while your there grab one of her tee shirts. i'll be wearing mine to tell everyone how good my spud was.

Homemade dressing. (2) pork chops, country style ribs and homemade Mac and cheese for $22. Excellent deal and food

Well first let me say this food was soo good so fresh and did i mention good lol i loved it down to the side dishes 5 stars only bad thing is on google they are open but are NEVER open but on sunday. i feel they should have someone advertise it i called everyday to get a potato but wasn't open was sad but cant complain TODAY lol

We held our son’s wedding rehearsal dinner here on June 9. Greg and his staff are extremely accommodating and attentive. They helped with set up and take down and serving our cake that we brought. The wait staff kept everyone’s glasses full. We chose 3 dinner options for our guests, the beef medallions, the white fish and the chicken. The food was delicious. We are from NY and had to plan this long distance. Couldn’t have found a more perfect place to start our wedding weekend. Thank you!

Disappointed. I've had many wonderful meals here in past seasons. However, tonight we waited for over an hour and change for a salad and scallops. This was after waiting 20 minutes to have our drink order taken and another 15 watching our drinks sit at the bar. They probably should not have been seating the restaurant since they were hosting a wedding reception. Hoping to return and have a better experience in the future, but was saddened that this was my first experience of the season back at Hawks Head.

Alright food, although some of the steaks were overcooked or undercooked. Would recommend to get here seven hours early because that’s how long it takes for the food to arrive. Overall, decent service waiter was very nice and helpful. I was very disappointed in the overall inconsistency with the temperatures that we asked for when ordering the steak. And so forth I would conclude my review with a statement. Rust was in the water. That’s all. Thank you for reading my highly sophisticated review. I will be the food critic one day.

We were very disappointed. You have to pay for bread so we paid the $4. All they gave the 4 of us were 2 rolls cut in half. Then we ordered the beef tenderloin appetizer. They gave us 3 crostinis. We said something to the server and she just said “that’s how it comes.” Cmon, there’s four of us, just throw another cracker on since it’s a $21 appetizer. They also got our wine order wrong. So we left without ordering an entree and ate somewhere else. I guess 2 more dinner rolls and a crostini cost them 4 entrees. That’s a great business model

Very cute tasting room and store out in the country surrounded by apple orchards. The dry ciders were delicious. Our server was a little less than smiley and happy to see us, but we had a good time anyway. Worth it for the ciders alone.

I stopped here because the winery is of the same name as me. Though I wasn't crazy about all their fruit wines, I enjoyed their ciders very much. It's not too far off the beaten path, so if you have time to kill it is an excellent pit stop.

Pleasant surprise! Cute winery with covered outdoor/indoor seating. Tasting of 5 ciders/wines for $6. Shop for little local candles, glasses, honey, cheese, etc while you wait on your flight. FYI they are open until 5pm, not 4pm as Google states.

Cute place & nice scenery. There were 5 of us who did the wine tasting & out of the 25 tastings we had I think we only liked 2 total. Very disappointing. We brought some under 21, as they had been to wineries with us in the past & had juice; however, they did not have juice for those under 21. If you're looking for wine tasting, I would try a different winery

The ciders are really good, cold, and refreshing. The fruit wines are hit or miss with flavor and I was slightly disappointed with the iced cider. It's not as heavy as iced wine which is nice but I was hoping it would be as refreshing. Also, the pours were not the same for each tasting, which is $7 for 5 choices plus $1.75 for the iced cider. They also serve meats and cheeses and some panini's. I didn't try them but they sounded good. They have a really cute shop with the typical wine accessories and some great smelling soy candles which I did get.

This place was awesome! The staff was so friendly, great laid back atmosphere, and the wine was phenomenal. The fruit wines were so different than any other winery I have tried. You truly tasted the fruit flavor. I will absolutely be back, and with friends!

First time at this Big Boy. COVid restrictions in place, staff is outstanding, dining area clean and well prepped. Plenty of menu options to choose from, kids choose pasta and grilled cheese kids meals. Adults gotta try the best burger in the planet®, impossible burger and chicken Caesar wrap with side salads. Fries and burgers are delicious, wouldn't call the beef burger the best, but it did get me to order one. The impossible was well prepared and couldn't tell the difference if replaced. Chicken Caesar wrap was skimpy on the chicken, but plentiful if you like tomatoes and iceberg lettuce. Salads were disappointing with just iceberg and a slice or two of tomato. Kids meals come with cookies, which we thought were homemade, but not.

Service was excellent. Staff worked perfectly together as a team. Our waitress was amazing and I was impressed with her level of multitasking. I ordered the triple decker turkey club and hubby ordered fish and onion rings. We also got pretzel bites, all was delicious.

The overall experience was not good. We waited about 50 minutes for eggs and pancakes. When it arrived, most was cold and some was uncooked. The restaurant was not even full. I felt sorry for the waitresses and hostesses that rely on this for their income. Especially our waitress who was refilling and checking on us constantly. I hope they figure out how to organize their kitchen better so one person isn’t trying to do everything.

My waffle was BLUE.! Not from blueberries either.! I can’t figure out what was wrong with it, so I just stopped eating it.! Chicken pieces over cooked.! 3 pies to choose from this morning. I’d say this place is lacking….. parking lot so slippery, my husband fell. First and last time we will stop here.!

It may be my nostalgia for the restaurant chain but I really enjoyed it. As a kid my family would stop here and have a burger. The Big Boy burger is a classic double burger with 1000 island dressing. Give it a try if you're in the area, it's a pretty good value for your money.

Waitress was awesome and attentive....food was awesome..little pricey..but still worth it for 4 ppl we spent 62.45..

I go wild for a good sandwich- and this place is worth the drive! Not only that but the service was top notch. They have the sweetest employees. They also have a fantastic selection of harder-to-find liquors and beers! We loved this place.

Extended family of 13 stopped here for lunch after visiting the Michigan Maritime Museum on our way to Lake Michigan beach. Great sandwiches. Nice outdoor space to eat in good weather. Only rated at 4 stars because there’s no public restroom.

It’s a liquor store with a sandwich shop inside. We ordered a sandwich and salad. They were freshly made and delicious. South Haven is a great weekend get away from the Chicago area and “The Depot” is worth the time to visit for food and drinks to carry-out.

This place offers truely the best Sandwiches in South Haven the Staff are excellent everyday people like us!! Walking into this establishment puts a smile on my face 😌 There working hard but also very Considerate and and Friendly, makes you feel right at home! If you want a Sandwich that leaves you smiling after you finish it then this is the place you want to visit! 🖤 10/10

The sandwiches were average, but $80 for four is quite pricey. Please note that a gratuity was automatically added to my bill when ordering by phone for pickup. While this may be standard for them, it’s unusual for takeout and could surprise other customers. I recommend checking your bill before paying by phone.

Delicious made to order deli sandwiches! I highly recommend the Edmund Fitzgerald, a combination of medium rare beef, cheddar cheese, and garlic aoli. When the weather is nice, take a seat on the patio out back.

Where do I start? Poor employee quality including the Manager who told me to "google the owner" when I asked for their name and number. They charged me more than the price posted on their signs (both inside and drive through). This happened 3 times over the last 6 weeks! Each time I complain they tell me "it is the tax", duh. Item price on the sign $2.59. Item price on the receipt $2.89 plus tax. Then they say they have to charge "what is in the system", so out of their hands. Nobody to blame here. Pretty sure this is illegal.

I visited this Wendy’s location yesterday and had a very disappointing experience. I ordered a chicken sandwich that was delivered to me completely cold. What shocked me most was that the manager was the one cooking, which makes it even more surprising that food was served in that condition. When I returned to the cashier to explain that my sandwich was cold, they asked the manager to make me a fresh one. Nearly 40 minutes later, the sandwich still wasn’t ready. During that time, I noticed the manager was conducting an interview with a new employee instead of focusing on resolving the situation. This was, without a doubt, the most unorganized and mismanaged Wendy’s I’ve ever been to. Serving cold food to a paying customer and making them wait 40 minutes for a replacement is completely unacceptable. When I brought this up, the manager’s only response was a quick, “I’m sorry.” I highly do not recommend this Wendy’s. It is poorly run, disorganized, and customer service is severely lacking.

Food was good. But They switched me and my friends food. It took us 20 minutes to order the food and another 10-15 to just get our food. The floor was sticky when walking in, huge line of people to order food and I saw in the back the bacon on a tray sitting there… flys everywhere, French fries on the ground in the back. Only a couple workers working the rest sitting. Lots of alarms going off. Terrible service and place. Never going back. Barley any parking also

The most disgusting fast food restaurant I've ever been to! I was talked into going inside to order and eat. As soon as you walk in, there's flies EVERYWHERE! Even standing there to order was gross, flies going by my face, all over in the kitchen, dining area...Fly strips just hanging in the kitchen COVERED in flies. The worker taking our order wasnt paying attention at all, but then constantly checking the screen with the order like he forgot everything as soon as he read it. Seemed to be a lot of workers but that was the only person at the register. Waited foreverrr to get the food. As soon as he put the tray out, flies were all by the food. I asked for bags, put my food in them, and left...still not wanting to even eat what I paid for... I do not recommend this place to anyone!

This particular Wendy's has consistently failed. The lobby is dirty and obviously uncleaned. The attitude of the staff was less than optimal and couldn't be bothered to try to be helpful. Definitely haven't had a good experience and I've given them 5 tries.

We stopped on the way home from South Haven. We went to drive thru. Order billed correctly. Everything in the bag was wrong. I went inside. Manager asked how she could help. I explained. She made our food over and refunded our money. It was morning of July 18. Sorry can't remember her name but she said she was gm.

Not very clean. Bad service. The person taking my order had a hard time with two chicken sandwich meals and one chicken nugget meal :/ no soap or tp in the bathroom. When I tried to say something to a worker I could not get their attention... But no soap in the bathroom 🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮HOW are the employees washing their hands after using the restroom and then handling our food 🤢🤢 I didn't see that until AFTER we ate and it was too late... Try to save yourself getting sick! :/

Great atmosphere, very friendly ppl, restaurant attached. Wonderful food!!!!😋 Complaints would be we had a few problems with the ball return gettin stuck. But they moved us to another lane no probs after that. N the lanes or landing not quite greasy enough for sliding when throwing the bowling ball. Otherwise I love lakeside entertainment n would recommend it to anyone including families.😍🤩🥳

We just celebrated "100 Years Loved" -- the 100th birthday of my aunt. I must tell you we chose the right place, the right management, the right time and the right date- EVERYTHING! Lakeside Social did us "RIGHT"! The updates etc. that have been made to the facility are RIGHT on time. I believe Lakeside Social is a real blessing to our South Haven community. A Special "Shout out's" to Miss Stephanie S, the truly working general manager who supervised and worked "hands on" before, during and after to make sure things were in order; Mr. Steve Meeks, our chef extraordinaire who prepared a wonderful "100 year celebration" meal of delicious fried chicken, creamy mashed potatoes, with just the right touch of gravy, done just right string beans, rolls, tossed salad, an assortment of beverages and our hostess/server with the "mostest" Miss Linda! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Could not have done it without you. Perfect spot for your next event! Just ask management and I will be happy to share we you! I will share pictures at a later date!

I have been visiting the restaurant occasionally for years. I have enjoyed the food and service and specials very much through the years. Friends will ask what alternative places to try where they can be seated quickly and taken care of efficiently. Very reasonable meals, and beverage. I have noticed unfortunately that the recent Change of ownership brings with it a significant change in service and quality. My wife and I waited 45 minutes to be served and my food was cold. I don’t mind cold potatoes, but that night I didn’t care for the experience. Waitress was pleasant, but did nothing to rectify the situation. At this point, I am reluctant to return and have shared my experience with other friends who have been in agreement. Seems to be to be a huge mistake to have new ownership and allow the service and quality to decline immediately. Bad for maintenance maintenance of business.

Overall we've been extremely pleased with the food and service here. It's nice to see the new owners updating the place. The menu prices have also been updated but are still reasonable and the nightly specials are an exceptional value. Nearly all of the complaints here are from people who don't understand the tipping model or believe the prices should remain locked in 1995. They should consider ordering off the value menu at the drive-thru down the road.

Visited Lakeside Social and the service was exceptional and friendly. Our server was knowledgeable and guided us through the menu with genuine enthusiasm and offered recommendations. Prices were reasonable for the quality, and I left feeling that every dollar spent was well worth it. Will definitely recommend and will be coming back.

Excellent customer service and the food was GREAT! The Chef came out and talked with us at our table (wonderful personal touch). Definitely recommend and will BE BACK!

I have ordered 3 times in the last month and each time the food has been perfect. The young man working the counter was friendly, helpful and had a great attitude. I will order from this Pizaa Hut every time. Great job to everyone that served us!!!

I’ve been to more Pizza Huts than they’re typically worth, and this one definitely defied my expectations. The food was ready a couple minutes before the quote time on a Saturday night. It tasted pretty good!

Got a really good online deal on wings (20 for $10). Staff was very cordial, professional and the wings were very good.

Most poorly run pizza hut I have ever seen. It's about time to get some waitresses. Orering it at the counter only to be forgotten once we've gotten our food is beyond tired.

I ordered at the drive through today and was then asked if I'd "like to donate a dollar to kids". When I said "no not today" his reply was "really? No? How sad." I was then given a cold beef and cheddar sandwich and cold curly fries. When I asked the lady who gave me my food if I could have Arby and Horsey sauce she acted as though it was a huge inconvenience. She never spoke a word to me....no hello, have a nice day, here's your food....not a single word. Very rude treatment for not donating a dollar to a "kid". What "Kids" group are you supporting and collecting money for? How much of my dollar actually supports a child? It doesn't really matter as I will not be back. There are plenty of other places to eat in South Haven.

The chicken sandwich was okay, But the curly fries were well done! The employee was super friendly and talked very nicely! The good service and tasty fries made the experience enjoyable.

It isn't the cleanest inside. We weren't greeted not even a smile he just took our order. I asked if we could get mayo on our sandwich & he reached into a tray under counter & slid 2 mayo packets across the counter. We ordered the beef & cheddar - hardly any cheddar. The fries (crinkle cut) were cold. The beef & cheddar were not warm either. We said we should have gotten 2 sliders or gone to McDonalds. Not good at all. No return. A 2 star is generous

The food could have been more fresh. Very cold and took forever. It's still good because it is arbys so 2 stars.

One of the employees showed us how to make Baja Blast out of the available sodas. They deserve a raise. Vibes were very good. The food has not failed me yet. :)

Needed food fast. The guy at the counter had it all ready and even put the sauces in the adult bag so the kids wouldn't fight over them.

Very rude male employee working the window on 06/21. Besides being extremely short with me and having an attitude, he didn’t ask for sauce and would cut us off before we could ask questions. So no sauce plus very flat cokes.

By far the best food that South Haven has to offer. The price is right for the quality and amount of food. Not your overpriced Gordon Food service meal you receive near the lake. Definitely worthy of the 5 minute drive out of town.

Great BBQ! We saw the smoker starting at 7AM on our way to a round of golf and had to come back to try it. Portions are generous, food is great, and the service was friendly.

We ordered chicken and pulled pork sandwiches and OMG when you try that chicken. Perfect amount of smokiness! I wish sauce wasn’t mixed in pork. It was delicious but it overpowers meat. So chicken and service 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Pulled pork ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ it was great 😊

Rib tips were outstanding. Baked beans were excellent as well. Mac and Cheese is good too but a different style than I’m used to. Friendly service. Recommend it. 👍

Yum drove over an hour to give it a try and not disappointed. Half slab and 2 sides for $15, great deal and food. The service was excellent with the nicest guy ever. Will be back

Visiting South Haven from Chicago and came across Moma's TJM BBQ . The Ribs and Tips were Amazing , The BBQ sauce was over the top .Moma's TJM BBQ will be my New forever spot !

Delicious pulled pork sandwich and great potato salad! The prices were incredible for how much food you get. Great spot!

Waited for 30 minutes for my food. And the kid that was cashier argued with me about what size i wanted my 8 piece chicken fries. It don't go by size it goes by count. Seemed really high and when i came up to the window he was more focused about being on his phone than doing his job

I would have liked to leave a better review however they always close early just like tonight. They always have a great excuse too they are short staffed or they had to tear down the machines early because they couldn't stay late. I know people that work in the fast food industry in the same town. last night in particularly they got stuck until 4:00 a.m. because there was only two people, they never shut down the business either. This particular location continues to close early on random days whenever they decide they don't want to work anymore. They're nice enough to leave the headsets on so that way they can still clock their hours and tell you that they're closed and make it appear that they're still open to corporate. If you look closely you can see they're either smoking whatever paraphernalia is their choice or eating in the kitchen trying to hide from the windows. If you don't have the proper staff to stay open change your hours. If you don't have the proper staff that has common sense look for new staff. If you happen to be the GM and don't realize that your store is getting closed early almost in the nightly perhaps you should stop in and make a sneak visit at the end of the night. I truly hope corporate sees this. This is definitely been going on long enough. With that said I've never had an issue with the morning crew. They have always been amazing. Beyond accommodating and more than happy to give you a crown no matter what your age is. Night shift do better!!!

Ordered a brisket whopper jr Waited 5 mins for the to tell the front counter lady they didn't have it anymore. Why is it on the menu still? Reordered for a whopper Jr they tried to get me to go without giving me the difference. They messed it up. I went back in to get it remade the manager said that "it was a lot to remember and we're busy." Waited until drive thru was cleared before remaking my sandwich. Took 27 mins of my half hour break to get my one sandwich made right! And the manager had that kind of attitude on top of it!

Parking lot was trashy the order board looked like it could use a good cleaning mu onion rings were cold probably sitting there for a while my whopper was cold and fries were cold not to satisfied but my chicken sandwich was good and mozzarella sticks were good

I have been to Burger King at least 3-4 times out of the past 10 days and the Icee machine was out of order every time. Sometimes I go there specifically for the Icee and I will get a small amount of food like a cheeseburger or some fries but I am not feeling the King at the moment so yall better step up your game

JUST CLOSE ALREADY! They never have enough people staffed. I have often been completely ignored while going through the drive thru. It's like they don't want business. I'm not a huge fan of BK to begin with but the service at the south Haven location is hands down the worst I've ever experienced. It needs to be closed or corporate needs to step in.

Lied and said they were closed so they didn’t have to make my order, sucky service and let me sit at the speaker for alm 15 minutes before even saying anything. While it was a whole 1hr and a half before their actual close. Lazy workers

No frills, but good pizza: crust are soft, good blend of cheese, with diced vegetables on their large Very Veggie, and it was $15 and change for a large. While there is seating, it is attached to a gas station mini-mart. So, if you are looking for a selection of chips, snacks, a coffee bar, and low cost fountain drinks...this is a good fit. Oh, and by the way, a good price on gas.

Honestly we weren’t that impressed with the pizza. They had a good range of options – we got the bbq chicken, Hawaiian, meat lovers, and pepperoni. While we were able to get it within a half hour of calling during the dinner rush on a Saturday night, that was the best part.

Grabbed take home tonight and the service was awful rude on the phone and at the drive through window. Food was not good the sub had stale meat and veggies very bland, the wings were so hot from the buffalo sauce barely eat them. Will reconsider next time eating here again

The restaurant serves up the best pizza and sandwich grinders in town! The smothered steak is always a big hit, and don't forget to try their thin or hand tossed pizza. If you love lots of meat and lots of veggies on your pizza, try the Monster Pizza, it sure will satisfy that monster hunger or if you're hangry 😉 Service is always superb!

Love this place, love the employees that have been there for awhile. However there new hires are rude and snippy and i do not like them. I dont like being snapped at when me and my family were nothing but nice. Hopefully the old workers work ethic and attitude can rub off on the new workers.

Good for quick pizza. I don't like that toppings were underneath the cheese, we couldn't tell if we got the right orders! One of the pizzas was wrong. However, it still tasted good.

Worst. Pizza.Ever. If zero stars was an option, that’s what this joint deserves. Probably not staff’s fault; they are just doing the franchise model: disgusting pizza, instead of “salad “ ( on the phone order one staff member had to ask another if we have salads). Don’t go.
