Specialty Museums
The Michigan Maritime Museum in South Haven is a treasure trove of Great Lakes and boating history and culture. The museum boasts exhibits showcasing the area's rich maritime heritage, along with a research library and a store offering nautical-themed items. Visitors can explore the museum grounds, which include a boathouse, small watercraft annex, and an outbuilding for knot-tying activities.
I visited the Michigan Maritime Museum this past Friday, and it was such a cool experience. Right from the start, the museum had a welcoming vibe — the staff were super friendly, easy to talk to, and seemed genuinely excited to have visitors. They made the whole place feel more relaxed and fun. One of my favorite parts was the game area. It’s not every day you go to a museum and actually get to play around and interact with things, so that definitely stood out. The museum also has a bunch of real historical pieces that give you a deeper appreciation for Michigan’s maritime history. It’s not just displays behind glass — you actually get to push buttons, try activities, and explore in a hands-on way. The interactive buttons scattered throughout the exhibits were awesome. It kept things interesting and helped explain the history in a way that didn’t feel boring or overwhelming. We had a group of teens (ages 14–17), and everyone found something to enjoy. Some were into the historical ships, others liked the tech and games — there’s honestly something for every type of person, no matter your age. The museum is also easy to find and navigate. It’s not huge, so it doesn’t feel like a marathon to get through, but there’s still a lot packed into the space. Whether you're into history or just looking for something different to do with friends or family, I’d definitely recommend checking it out. Overall, the Michigan Maritime Museum is a fun and engaging place that mixes history with hands-on learning. It’s perfect for anyone looking to learn a little and have a good time doing it.

A very interesting museum focused around steamship travel in the Great Lakes. The Lindy Lou was a very calming boat ride through the beautiful local area, not necessarily a guided tour, but the ship's captain was more than happy to answer all of my questions! A beautiful area! Would highly recommend!
Molly H — Google review
This was certainly an unexpected highlight of our trip. We ended up spending so much time there that we skipped the bear ranch. Bring your swimsuit if weather permits as the also have a great beach front.
David S — Google review
Very nice museum— their exhibit had a lot of cool things to see. We came in the spring so they weren’t offering boat rides but they do in the summer. Highly recommend. 😊
Moe M — Google review
This was the best darn time with my 9 year old son! Captain Bob and crew made it so educational and realistic to the history. We learned a lot. My son became an apprentice crew hand and even got to steer the ship. I can't recommend this enough. Next time, I will get some motion sickness meds beforehand. Highy recommend!
Jamie B — Google review
Great exhibits and gift shop. Sad the water made it so we couldn't do the Lake trip. Took a river cruise. Relaxing, calm water, rain happened AFTER our trip (phew)!
Denise Z — Google review
We booked a 45 min ride on Merry Time. Captain Kirk was awesome. The museum was a nice bonus. Well worth it.
Scott C — Google review
We had a fantastic time on the day sail. The ship is beautiful, and it was awesome to see the bow rise and fall so dramatically into the waves. The crew was incredible! They know how to pilot the ship with confidence and ease. They engage with the passengers, and are eager to explain the workings of the ship, and its history. They all obviously love their work, and had the visitors laughing throughout the entire voyage. The introduction really prepared us for what we experienced. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone. Kevin

Clementine's is a spacious and relaxed dining destination housed in a historic building from the 1800s. It offers a variety of classic dishes such as seafood, pasta, and grilled meats. The restaurant has been a popular spot for both locals and tourists for nearly 40 years. Its menu features traditional favorites like French onion soup, homemade onion rings, and fried lake perch. The nostalgic decor includes original brickwork, tin ceilings, and an old bank safe.
I had the half pound of perch. It was excellent. The onion rings were amazing. There are some non alcoholic wines on the menu and I found that to be great. The service was good. The restaurant has a lot of charm with its Western style ambiance.

I've been coming here since I was a kid. Great food always, I was able to bring my one year old here for his first time this past weekend. The waiting system has been modernized with a text based notification, which is convenient. Excellent staff, menu, and dining conditions. I enjoyed the olive burger on my most recent visit. The onion rings are particularly well prepared.
Mick B — Google review
Last minute decision for a place to eat and always on par with food and service. Brittany was great and kind. Had a burger and fries so nothing too fancy. I usually get the famous onion rings but maybe next time. Thanks again for a wonderful experience!

What an incredibly beautiful restaurant. This is such a special place on the lake right in the heart of South Haven, an enchanting little beach town. Having grown up in Benton Harbor / St. Joseph, the main downtown area of South Haven reminds me of the quaint beauty of St. Joseph. The decor of the restaurant is old world style, with interesting model ship builds and marina themed artwork and photography. The well-made wooden furniture adds to that incredible charm, welcoming visitors into the adventurous ambience of the place. The food itself was delicious, warm, and effortlessly savory. The salads were GIGANTIC in portion, which was surprising and very pleasing! The decadent garlic toast is a must have for every visitor, it is simply to die for. The various fried fish options are plentiful and very well seasoned for flavorful morsels in every bite. Visual presentations of each dish were simple and exquisite with a pub-style feel. Ready made sauces and easy access sides like coleslaw are perfect pairings for every entree. The specialty drinks were made well. My husband enjoyed a Bloody Mary, while I chose a simple Shirley Temple, but was wonderfully made with cherry splendor. Clementine's is a must visit for every visitor to South Haven. This is a dining experience you won't soon forget! ⛵️

Beautiful and large interior. Friendly service. Tater skins were good. Fry texture was a bit rubbery. Didn't finish them. This is for regular plus curly. Perch sandwich should have a lil less bread or a lil more perch. But the perch wasn't my favorite anyway. Hot chicken was decent.
TKO — Google review
The hostess was super nice upon entry but the bartender was an absolute nightmare when I was trying to pick up my to go order. She had a terrible attitude and turned my smile upside down very quickly. The energy she gave to me made me forget to tip the kitchen because I thought it’d go to her and she was so unpleasant. The food was decent in comparison to a normal Caesar salad, but it definitely wasn’t the quality I normally get here. This is the first time I’ve ordered out from here and I probably wouldn’t again. It was also within the first hour they opened, I don’t know. Maybe it was an off day.
Kay L — Google review
What a sweet restaurant! The food, the service and the atmosphere was top-notch!!! We really enjoyed the experience. The salad I enjoyed was large enough for 2 people to share.

We enjoyed our food here. I opted for the Clem's O-Ring Burger with fruit as my side. My brother had the Red Rooster's Haven. They were both delicious. Stephanie, our waitress, was awesome! She was friendly, professional, and attentive. I would definitely visit here again, when in town.

Playground
Kids' Corner in South Haven is a popular wooden castle-style playground that offers a variety of activities for children. It features slides, tunnels, swings, and ample space for kids to play. The park also provides free parking and easy access to the beach. With safety in mind, the playground is designed to keep kids entertained for hours while parents can enjoy picnics at the spacious picnic area with tables. Additionally, there are plenty of trash receptacles and well-maintained restrooms available.
Very cool park. Love that they keep the wood style but with no maintenance composite! So many playgrounds are doing away with the wood and making them less fun, so happy they built this! Would love to see more playgrounds like this! Tot and big kid area. Classic metal slide is still there and was a fave too.

A great place for toddlers, preschoolers, and early elem kids. Seems to be THE local, safe and fun place for grandparents to hang out with grandkids.
Maggie P — Google review
Very nice Park seems pretty new, kids enjoyed it. Block away from the lake. Parking is on the street
Jameson — Google review
Amazing playground! Lots of green space to run around, super close to the beach, tons of parking, restrooms, fenced in area for the little ones, very engaging playground overall with several different types of swings (which my kids loved). Plenty of seating- there are picnic tables, a shelter and benches all around. We came in the fall- the leaves were beautiful 🍁
Candace F — Google review
What a beautiful park! Our kids loved playing here for more than an hour this morning as we started our day. Plenty of room on the play structure, several sets of swings, and a big open green space. The park is tucked in a very attractive neighborhood with a view overlooking Lake Michigan. Parking here was plentiful around 9am, but was difficult to find when we returned from downtown around 1pm.
Jeff N — Google review
Public restroom on site. Picnic tables a plenty. A huge play area for little ones. It is also directly across the street from the blue stairs that lead right down to the beach. We came on a day trip with our 7 year old and he had a fantastic time. We stopped at Sherman's Dairy Bar on the way back home to top off a great summer beach day. Fantastic playground.
Dannielle B — Google review
Great place to hang with the family, it's clean peaceful and a great place to watch a sunset as a family.
Steven M — Google review
It seems safer but seems like there is less playground for older kids to play on on is for ages up to 5 the one in the open is for older kids I really like the mats they laid down They don't want dogs in the park and they have bags to clean up after them

The South Haven Lighthouse, a traditional red structure built in the 19th century, stands as an iconic landmark accessible via a concrete pier. In addition to its historical significance, South Haven offers various outdoor adventures such as ATV rentals and trails, sailing experiences, and winter sports at the ice rink. Visitors can also indulge in wine tasting at Cogdal Vineyards and explore the town's rich history through museums like the Michigan Maritime Museum and family-friendly attractions like Bumbleberry Acres.
Beautiful beach! Soft sand and cold water. The light house is beautiful as well!! Fun walk out on the pier
Amanda S — Google review
The South Haven Lighthouse is a true Lake Michigan icon and a highlight of any visit to the area. Standing proudly at the end of the historic South Pier, this vibrant red beacon has guided ships since the early 1900s and remains a beloved symbol of South Haven’s maritime heritage. The walk out to the lighthouse, especially at sunset, is nothing short of magical — waves crashing along the pier, sailboats drifting by, and the golden light reflecting off the water create an unforgettable scene. It’s a photographer’s dream and a peaceful escape for anyone needing a moment of beauty and reflection. The catwalk overhead, one of the last of its kind on the Great Lakes, adds a unique historic charm. Whether you’re strolling hand-in-hand, capturing the view, or simply soaking up the lakeshore breeze, the South Haven Lighthouse never disappoints.

Nestled between the tranquil shores of South and North Beach, the South Haven Lighthouse is a beloved gem on Lake Michigan, offering a unique blend of natural beauty, recreational charm, and maritime history. Whether you're a seasoned sailor or simply a visitor enjoying the serene atmosphere, this lighthouse is a must-see. The lighthouse itself stands as a beacon of history and elegance, with its striking red-and-white striped design standing proudly against the backdrop of the vast blue lake. The walk out to the lighthouse along the pier offers stunning views of the water, with the soft sound of the waves lapping at the shore providing a peaceful soundtrack to your visit. It's a perfect spot to snap a photo or just take in the beauty of the landscape. What truly elevates the experience at South Haven Lighthouse is its vibrant boating culture. The area is frequented by a variety of sailboats and yachts, each adding a touch of elegance to the scene. Whether you're watching sleek, colorful sailboats glide across the water or admiring the luxurious yachts that dock nearby, the maritime vibe here is undeniable. It's a dynamic, constantly changing scene that brings energy to the otherwise tranquil setting. Fishing enthusiasts will also find plenty to love. The pier offers great opportunities for pier fishing, where you can try your luck while enjoying the crisp, fresh air of Lake Michigan. It's a peaceful yet lively spot, often dotted with both amateur anglers and experienced fishermen alike, each hoping to reel in a catch from the lake’s plentiful waters. The surrounding beaches are another highlight of the area. The soft, sandy shores of South and North Beach invite visitors to relax and enjoy the warmth of the freshwater lake. Whether you're sunbathing, building sandcastles, or wading in the shallows, the beaches here offer a perfect escape. The water is refreshingly warm, making it ideal for swimming and wading, especially during the summer months. All in all, the South Haven Lighthouse offers a delightful mix of history, natural beauty, and recreational activities. Whether you’re strolling along the pier, admiring the boats, casting a line, or simply relaxing on the beach, it’s a spot where visitors of all interests can find something to enjoy. A visit here is like stepping into a postcard, with every corner of the area offering a new, breathtaking view.

Visited on 6.19.2025. One of numerous lighthouses I explored during my travels through Michigan. The walk to it along the beach and the jetty is definitely worth it.
Rick W — Google review
Make sure you look at parking fees. They enforce parking. Plan to walk and be with a lot of people. The lighthouse is pretty and the beach is nice! Plenty of space but a very busy beach. There are lots of play sets and very geared to kids.
Sarah P — Google review
One of our favorite summer one tank road trips. Probably visited over a dozen times. Southwest Michigan has several nice beaches and small towns. South Haven is really nice and not over developed. Nice big beach. Free parking down town if you don't mind a little walking to the beach. Go through the week if you like smaller crowds.
Google U — Google review
The South Haven Lighthouse is situated on a pier off of Lake Michigan. It is a small active lighthouse, but it's not open to the public. You can walk up to it and observe it, though. It looks to be in great shape. I recommend stopping by it and taking a look at it as part of your visit to South Haven.

Rocket Arcade is a hands-on gaming museum located just off the main street, offering retro games, pinball, and amusements for all ages. The venue provides a comfortable environment with clean bathrooms and ample seating. Visitors can enjoy a variety of well-maintained games while taking breaks in the inviting seating area. The owner is friendly and accommodating, even allowing outside food for private events.
This place was awesome. It's got really good prices. For $15 you get a whole day and access to what I think was 10 or maybe more pinball machines and probably over 25-30 classic arcade games, including Pac-Man's Donkey Kong, Q*Bert, motorcycle and driving games, and so much more. I'm a really big pinball fan and even help out at an arcade myself and know it can be really hard so this place being as well kept as it is make me so happy. The workers are very nice and helpful when something goes down. Just if something has broken PLEASE tell the desk they can't fix what they don't know is broke. You also get access to more arcade machines and pinball machines that cost anywhere from 50¢-$1. They have merchandise and a snack bar with an eating area. UPDATE Came back because I wanted more. This place just has sooo much. I even got more pictures this time to show as much as I can.

High Score on Centipede!!! Play all day and all night with wrist bands for $15!!! Great for a rainy day or a break from bike riding. Awesome selection of retro games and pinball machines. The air hockey competition was also a good time with the family.

Rented out the place for a few extra hours to take our kids and their friends for Spring Break. The owner is incredible and friendly, the games are very well maintained, and we were able to bring in pizzas before it opened. We would recommend for kids but the adults also talked about doing an adult day/night out. Clean bathrooms, great atmosphere! 10/10 would recommend!

Great way to spend an afternoon in South Haven with the family. $15 for a wrist band to play all afternoon.

Lounge
Lakeside Entertainment is a well-established bowling alley and American restaurant that has been serving customers since 1987. The venue offers a range of entertainment options including bowling, seasonal mini-golf, and a bar serving cocktails. Visitors have praised the attentive and accommodating staff who go out of their way to ensure everyone has an enjoyable experience. The restaurant serves delicious food with excellent daily deals, making it a popular choice for families and groups celebrating special occasions.
I was visiting from out of town and stopped by with some family to bowl and try the food and drinks. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, which makes sense for a small rural town, but it has a retro charm I can appreciate. We played a few games and the lanes worked well with no real issues. The food was solid, and I liked that they made the pizza well done—it really brought out the flavor. Some of the drinks were a bit average, so there’s room to improve the cocktails, but overall everything was fine. The staff was friendly and attentive, which made the atmosphere feel comfortable. I’d definitely come back!

Great atmosphere, very friendly ppl, restaurant attached. Wonderful food!!!!😋 Complaints would be we had a few problems with the ball return gettin stuck. But they moved us to another lane no probs after that. N the lanes or landing not quite greasy enough for sliding when throwing the bowling ball. Otherwise I love lakeside entertainment n would recommend it to anyone including families.😍🤩🥳

We just celebrated "100 Years Loved" -- the 100th birthday of my aunt. I must tell you we chose the right place, the right management, the right time and the right date- EVERYTHING! Lakeside Social did us "RIGHT"! The updates etc. that have been made to the facility are RIGHT on time. I believe Lakeside Social is a real blessing to our South Haven community. A Special "Shout out's" to Miss Stephanie S, the truly working general manager who supervised and worked "hands on" before, during and after to make sure things were in order; Mr. Steve Meeks, our chef extraordinaire who prepared a wonderful "100 year celebration" meal of delicious fried chicken, creamy mashed potatoes, with just the right touch of gravy, done just right string beans, rolls, tossed salad, an assortment of beverages and our hostess/server with the "mostest" Miss Linda! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Could not have done it without you. Perfect spot for your next event! Just ask management and I will be happy to share we you! I will share pictures at a later date!
Willie C — Google review
I have been visiting the restaurant occasionally for years. I have enjoyed the food and service and specials very much through the years. Friends will ask what alternative places to try where they can be seated quickly and taken care of efficiently. Very reasonable meals, and beverage. I have noticed unfortunately that the recent Change of ownership brings with it a significant change in service and quality. My wife and I waited 45 minutes to be served and my food was cold. I don’t mind cold potatoes, but that night I didn’t care for the experience. Waitress was pleasant, but did nothing to rectify the situation. At this point, I am reluctant to return and have shared my experience with other friends who have been in agreement. Seems to be to be a huge mistake to have new ownership and allow the service and quality to decline immediately. Bad for maintenance maintenance of business.
Timothy R — Google review
Overall we've been extremely pleased with the food and service here. It's nice to see the new owners updating the place. The menu prices have also been updated but are still reasonable and the nightly specials are an exceptional value. Nearly all of the complaints here are from people who don't understand the tipping model or believe the prices should remain locked in 1995. They should consider ordering off the value menu at the drive-thru down the road.

Michigan Theatre is a beloved small-town theater with affordable ticket prices and comfortable seating. The venue offers two theaters downstairs and one upstairs, providing options for moviegoers. Visitors appreciate the friendly staff, clean facilities, and well-lit environment. The theater's delicious concessions, particularly the popcorn with butter, are highly praised. Many patrons also value the cheap kids tickets, matinee tickets, and affordable food and drinks.
Really good place to watch a movie. Friendly and helpful staff. Very affordable!
Coach S — Google review
Had the unfortunate experience of having our movie stop halfway through the showing in one of the downstairs theaters. After waiting a few minutes, someone finally got up to leave, assuming they told theater staff who then started working on restarting the movie for us. Felt like 10 minutes went by while they figured out how to fast forward back to where we were watching. Another 20-30 minutes later, it froze…. again. This time they were quicker to restart us back to where we were with the help of the audience yelling forward until we reached the scene we were in the middle of. We did however miss a few minutes of the movie because it was restarted just past where we left off. Never had something like this happen at a theater, so I certainly hope they looked into what caused the problem, because it completely took me out of the experience of going to a movie theater to watch a film from start to end without distractions. I also noticed that up until the first stoppage, the screen seemed way darker than it should have. Dark scenes were barely visible, and even bright ones you could tell the white spots were dim. This seemed to be fixed after the restarting of the movie, so not sure what was going on there. I was surprised when theater staff didn’t offer any apologies/refunds/discounts after the debacle. I planned to ask for a refund myself, but after finishing the movie and walking out, didn’t feel like the $5 ticket was worth the time chatting with someone about it and just wanted to go home.

Items were reasonably priced (was able to purchase a boogie board for the beach for half the price as advertised down the street) and the kids found some reasonably priced sand shovels and other toys. We stopped in twice, and had a wonderful experience both times. Owner was exceptionally kind & helpful. Loved seeing classic toys that I played with as a kid 20-25 years ago, and my mother in law said she noticed toys she played with as a kid too. Very nostalgic, and there was also a good blend of new toys as well. Will definitely visit again!

Such a cute little toy shop that had such a nostalgic feel to it! My kids loved it in there, and so did us parents! So many fun toys, old & new! Loved it! The checkout lady was so friendly with my kids. They all 3 had their own wallets, using their own money to pay for their purchases all separate & she was so nice to them & SO patient!

We visit South Haven every year and this adorable little toy shop is always one of our stops. There is a unique variety of things and even if we don’t buy anything it’s so much fun to look around.

A wonderful fun shop for kids. The owner stayed in the evening later to let me finish shopping and generally has flexible closing hours based on the customers. The princess room in the upstairs is my daughter’s favorite place to go.

Sherman's Dairy Bar is a beloved spot in South Haven, known for its rich and creamy ice cream made with fresh, natural ingredients like strawberries, cherries, pecans, locally-sourced cream, Mackinac Island Fudge, and coconut. The family-friendly dairy bar offers a satisfying selection of sundaes, cones, and scoops that are perfect for enjoying on a hot summer day.
We had an ice cream craving. Dropped in and got 2 cones. Praline pecan and Butter pecan. Both were delicious, creamy and smooth. The cones were great. Good portions for the price. Fast friendly service. Recommended-MVP

A local friend recommended this place while we were on vacation, and it did not disappoint! We each had a baby waffle cone of different ice cream choices, and we each LOVED it! We will definitely stop again if we’re in the area!
Raechal S — Google review
Very odd experience. I went 2 days in a row with 2 other people. Day 1, we all got small, melted cups of ice cream. Day 2, we got much bigger servings because we ordered cones. On day 2, we also picked out 2 shirts, no prices shown. Total was 2 cents from $100....... Must have to be from SoHa to understand their servings and prices. Also, the cotton candy is the same recipe as another ice cream shop in MI. Thought that was strange.
B — Google review
Great stop in S Haven. The ice cream was A+. I loved the hard scooped chocolate malted. Lines back up under the tent. 2 order windows and a pick up window to the side. Seating is basically just picnic tables on the edge of the parking lot. That is my only knock on the place...but its a big shortcoming for a place this popular and crowded. Create a unique, dedicated seating area and Sherman's is instantly 5 stars

Incredible ice cream! The service was fast and the staff were so nice. We had a huge order of over 20 people and the team did a fantastic job handling the order with no errors. While I was not a fan of the location being next to a busy road, I think the barrier could be extended or closed off to make the ordering area a little safer for kids. The location is prime between the Jellystone resort and the lake though. One thing to be aware is that the portions are massive! I ordered the yellow cake batter and it was absolutely delicious. We will be returning the next time we are in the area.
Alex W — Google review
On our trip to SH we noticed a line here every time we would drive by and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. Their ice cream was delicious- and the serving sizes are HUGE so either go small or think about sharing. Even though there was a line it went very quickly. Will be back next time we are in the area!
Valerie T — Google review
So glad Sherman's is reopened. This iconic ice cream place has been a favorite for many for years. And you won't be disappointed too. Service is top notch and streamlined with electronic pickup making long lines go quickly. The only problem is the huge variety making choices a challenge. Portions are out of this world bring an appetite and a friend to share.
Bill B — Google review
This was a tough call for me. I know this is a very popular place and I wanted to like it…. however, I had a bothersome service issue that I’m having a hard time looking past. The upside is that the ice cream was good and the service for everybody, but me, was fast. The downside is that the ice cream is way overpriced, but more importantly, I had a service issue that I was unhappy with. After my order had been taken, I had observed several people that were in line behind me were being served. I also noticed that they had been given a fob that lit up when their order was supposed to be ready. After watching several people get served ahead of me, I finally asked, “ was I supposed to receive one of those?” I was told not necessarily. I watched what I realized was my order being given to somebody behind me in line…. His wife realized what was going on and made it clear that when she was handed her stuff with a duplicate item, which would’ve been mine in replacement of the item initially given to her husband, the staff told her that they couldn’t take back any mistakes and gave her husband the second ice cream that was supposed to be mine. Now I was left watching somebody who had two ice creams and I had none. Through a few more comedy of errors I finally got my ice cream … somewhere between 10 to 20 people behind me were served first and I was a bit frustrated to say the least. No apologies from the staff for the miscommunication on their part, just par for the course…..I guess. Slightly better, communication, and better handling of the overall situation and I probably would’ve given them four stars, but they really drop the ball at every opportunity that a correction could’ve been made. I’m not eager to go back

Golden Brown Bakery, Inc. is a charming 80-seat cafe located in South Haven, offering a delightful selection of freshly baked goods and full breakfast options. Situated by the Lake Michigan waterfront, this small-town bakery uses local cherries and blueberries in many of their delicious treats. While some changes have been made to the ordering process and menu items, visitors still rave about the warm and delicious French toast, flavorful hashbrowns, and mouthwatering corned beef hash.
Such a wonderful iconic piece of South Haven history. Everything is always absolutely delicious and the staff are so incredibly friendly. It's so sad that they will be closing permanently December 26th 2024. Going to miss this place My husband is from Southaven and he grew up going to the Golden Brown.

🍩Best Fresh Donuts🍩 The hours are a bit rough to catch them open or to get a glazed Donut anytime we've tried going, maybe this is common for bakery hours, and inventory when they're so good? We'll definitely return to this location again in the future.

Food: 5/5 (delicious food, soft delicious donuts 🍩) Service: 5/5 (Kind staff, great service) Atmosphere: 4/5 (Great Atmosphere!) Golden Brown Bakery has easily become one of my favorite donuts and breakfast spots around Southwest Michigan. Located in South Haven, Michigan, this restaurant/bakery is memorable, delicious, and great to visit. The food is remarkable. I enjoy the breakfast and donuts. My favorites are chocolate donuts, biscuits and gravy, and soft cinnamon donuts. If this was baseball, the donuts would clearly be a homerun! The service is always amazing! The staff is always kind! The atmosphere is awesome. The bakery is quaint, comfortable, and has a nice vibe. Golden Brown Bakery is a hit!

Unpretentious Cafe and bakery. The Cafe is where you order at counter then sit down and they bring you the food. Classic American options, decently priced. The food specials are great! Vegetarian options. The bakery has gluten free options!

Grabbed a few donuts and some coffee to go! Everything was fresh and delicious. The store is a little old school but I appreciated that they had more than just drip coffee to go with my treats! Prices were reasonable and there was lots of variety to pick from. We got one donut, one fritter, two donut holes, a latte and a bottle of apple juice for 10 dollars.

The market operates on Saturdays through mid-October and on Wednesdays through August from 8 am to 2 pm. Visitors can explore a variety of items such as handmade crafts, baked goods, and unique food items while enjoying the friendly atmosphere and ample parking.
A nice ‘old fashioned’ farmers market with live music. We purchased some fruit and a t-shirt. Enjoyed all the vendors on this beautiful July morning 2024. We were happy that we were able to visit it today.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Charming Slice of Pure Michigan The South Haven Farmers Market is an absolute gem and a must-visit for anyone in the area! Set in the heart of a beautiful lakeside town, this market offers the perfect mix of fresh, local produce, handmade goods, and small-town charm. Every vendor we visited was friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they were selling. From just-picked blueberries and heirloom tomatoes to artisan breads, cheeses, and handcrafted soaps, everything felt thoughtfully curated and high quality. What really makes this market shine is the atmosphere. Live music often plays in the background, kids are laughing with kettle corn in hand, and locals mingle with visitors like it’s a weekly tradition — because for many, it is. Easy parking, great variety, and a relaxed, welcoming vibe. Whether you’re stocking up for a picnic, looking for unique souvenirs, or just want to soak up the community spirit, this market hits all the right notes. Five stars all the way!

We attended last year in September and thought I would write a review about it. We really enjoyed it so much and I can't stop thinking about our purchases. The Petoskey rocks were a big hit with our grandchildren for Christmas. My best purchase was the Sea Glass Necklace from "The Beach Guy". I do not see him on the list for this year but wish I could purchase more pieces of jewelry from him. He made good quality jewelry out of beach/sea glass. Have not been able to find any like this from Lake Michigan since that visit!

Now this is what a traditional farmer's market is supposed to be. When I walked in and around the vendors, I almost forgot that I was in the 21st century. The people are nice, the blueberries are the best and there are a lot of unique sundries and brands one may not find anywhere else.

One thing about me is that I absolutely love sweets, so I couldn’t resist stopping by this candy store as I passed by. First off, I have to give a shoutout to the owner—he was incredibly friendly and even let my girlfriend sample some fudge. The store had an endless variety of both new and old-school candies to choose from. They even had this really cool jelly bean machine with a wide assortment of flavors to bag up. Before leaving, I made sure to grab some treats to share with my family too! I can’t wait to come back in the summer to see what new goodies they’ll have.

I love coming here every time we come to South Haven! Some of my favorites are the candies that have bugs, the Harry Potter ones, the saltwater taffy, and the more candy I did when I was younger that I cannot find now like the Candy Ciggerets. The staff are also nice as well! We accidentally put too many JellyBellys in our bag and they took the extra out for us! Another thing that I enjoy about this store is the hopscotch painted on the floor! Our children did it a few times!

South Beach in South Haven is a popular destination for families, offering playgrounds, a pier, and a skateboard park. It is known for its lighthouse views and proximity to Riverfront Park, which hosts summertime concerts. The beach provides clear blue waters for swimming and opportunities to stroll along the shore or take a walk out to the South Pier Lighthouse. Visitors can also enjoy stunning Lake Michigan sunsets from this picturesque location.
Beautiful beach on lk Michigan with concessions. Beautiful water that is perfect to look at and swim in. I really enjoy both north and south beach. Walking on the pier is very enjoyable.
Amy C — Google review
South Beach, located along the stunning Lake Michigan shoreline, is a perfect destination for families, beach lovers, and anyone looking to soak up the sun in a picturesque setting. This beautiful beach offers a quintessential beach experience, with soft, fine sand that stretches for miles, and crystal-clear waters that invite visitors to wade, swim, or just relax by the shore. The real draw for families with young children is the range of kid-friendly amenities. The playground, featuring a swing set and plenty of open space for running and playing, is a great spot to keep little ones entertained. But the standout attraction is the *pirate ship-themed splash pad*. Kids can frolic in the water, climb aboard the "ship," and enjoy the interactive fountains. It’s an absolute hit, especially during the hot summer months when families gather to cool off and have fun. The splash pad is well-maintained, safe, and perfect for younger children looking for a splash of adventure in their day. In the summer months, South Beach really comes alive. It’s a popular spot, with plenty of visitors basking in the sun, building sandcastles, and enjoying the refreshing waters of Lake Michigan. While it does get busy, the atmosphere is always fun and lively, and there's something wonderful about the community energy. You’ll also find the ice cream shop nearby, serving up cold treats that are perfect for cooling off after a day at the beach. The smell of fresh waffle cones wafts through the air, drawing in both kids and adults alike, making it an essential stop for any visit. The beach itself offers plenty of space for picnicking, lounging, or playing beach volleyball, and there are well-kept facilities nearby to ensure a comfortable visit. With plenty of space for everyone, even on the busiest of days, it’s easy to find your own little slice of paradise. Whether you're dipping your toes into the lake, enjoying a treat from the ice cream stand, or watching your kids explore the playground and splash pad, South Beach provides the perfect setting for a fun, family-friendly day by the water.
Robert T — Google review
Beach was great. But does cost to park $10.00 unless want to wake six blocks and park your vehicle on side Street and park front of house. The bathroom and concession stands are like off the beach, not three blocks down. Make sure you go before you go down the beach. The concession stand there is way over prize bring your own food. You have glass bottles or alcohol.
Adam B — Google review
South Beach in South Haven, MI is the perfect summer escape on Lake Michigan’s eastern shore. With its wide stretch of clean, soft sand and clear blue waters, it offers everything you’d want in a classic beach day. The views of the iconic red lighthouse at the end of the pier are stunning and create a postcard-perfect backdrop — especially at sunset. There’s plenty of space to lay out a towel, play beach volleyball, or just relax and listen to the waves. The splash pad nearby is a hit with kids, and food vendors and restrooms are conveniently located close to the beach. The vibe is fun and lively, yet still family-friendly. Easy access from downtown makes it great for grabbing ice cream or lunch before or after your beach visit. South Beach truly captures the heart of a Michigan summer — warm, welcoming, and full of lakeside charm.
Timothy F — Google review
Paid parking during the summer months which is around $10, free just up the road if you park along the side of the road(what I did). Otherwise its a close walk to the beach, and close walk to the lighthouse as well. I went and stayed till sunset to take pictures and it was busy the entire time, the pier never cleared of people. People come out at night to fish from the pier.

This quaint store offers a wide variety of blueberry products, from cider and jam to salad dressing and even blueberry wine. You can also find unique items like blueberry pancakes mix, books, coffee, salsa, and more. Visitors can enjoy tasting sessions at the store and even order products online. The friendly staff adds to the delightful experience of exploring the diverse range of blueberry options available.
At 49 years old, I finally got to the place I wanted to see since I was 10. I have an obsession for blueberries that no one will ever match. I first wanna say how impressed I was with the vivacious downtown of South Haven. I didn’t expect much when I came, but thoroughly enjoyed being here. Near a busy crosswalk right on the main drag is The Blueberry Store. Keep in mind that their inventory shuffles; I wanted blueberry brats (YES, they exist) that are sold out as soon as they arrive. It’s best to come here during early hours since it can be busy and items can clear out easily. For amazing blueberry cheesecake ice cream, head a block west to Kilwin’s. Phoenix Street is absolutely wonderful to stroll around, and don’t miss the picturesque downhill pier at the lake.

Walked in with our family with an intend to buy things from there and had my drink and my parents coffee in hand. Immediately the lady proceeds to say no drinks allowed , make sure you don’t spill and we don’t allow drinks in here. Sure put my stuff down and walked out without buying anything. I would understand if you had “clothes” but you don’t . Extremely rude and didn’t even care one bit. We legit were going to buy a bunch of stuff but not anymore . Won’t be stepping into this store ever again.

The ladies that work here are such angels! The cashier Dee gave me her blueberry keychain after my twin told her about mine getting broken and they didn’t sell that kind anymore, so she gave me hers which was like my old one. The lady doing samples was sweet and knowledgeable, and the whole vibe in the store is happy. These ladies, especially Dee are top notch! The store offers a large variety of blueberry items, clothes, dog toys, cook books, jams, syrups. Highly recommend!

Van Buren State Park is a picturesque park with lakeside sand dunes, woodland trails, and a lovely beach. The modern campsites and picnic area with grills make it an ideal spot for outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy biking into South Haven from the park, exploring the town, and taking advantage of beach access via a trail from the campground. The well-maintained campground offers quiet surroundings and immaculate shower facilities.
Our first trip to Van Buren SP campground. Everything about this SP was outstanding. The sites are very generous in size, the facilities are brand new, and the beach is an easy ten minute walk. The trail into South Haven is freshly blacktopped and a pretty ride.

Beautiful little area off the lake with plenty of short hike trails leading to the beach. It was raining off and on during my visit but a beautiful view anyway! Definitely hope to go back and spend some more time hiking and hanging out on the beach. (There are some beautiful rocks for anyone who collects. The sand embeds some glass looking pieces that makes some of the sedimentary rocks looks metallic. Stunning what nature can do!) Only took a star off because it was hard to navigate and find the trail heads. Could use some more signs.

North Beach in South Haven, Michigan is a year-round destination offering lake access with various activities such as fishing, swimming, and beach concessions. The beach features amenities like restrooms, playgrounds, and sand volleyball courts. Visitors can also rent kayaks and paddle boards to enjoy the water. Unlike South Beach which is home to the iconic South Haven Lighthouse, North Beach stands out for its beach volleyball courts. Both beaches are wheelchair accessible and ADA compliant.
10/10 would recommend. Wayyy better than most beaches south of here. Better people if you know what I mean 😉. The beach is mostly flat so it’s an easier walk to the water than most places, there is even a small walkway to get you closer if you have a hard time walking in the sand. Perfect for seniors, people with small kids, or anyone with a disability.
Hannah D — Google review
Beautiful beach in a beautiful town. Friday was my first time at the North Beach and me and my granddaughter had a wonderful time. The water was cool which is to be expected for Lake Michigan in May, but it felt pretty good after playing in the hot sun for awhile. The sand and water was clean and the light color sand is nice because it doesn't get too hot like others. The bathroom was clean. I didn't stay for a sunset but I know from staying at the south beach you can see a beautiful sunset from this beach. My granddaughter enjoyed playing on the playground. The concession stand sadly wasn't open yet so we didn't get to try that. Only thing missing was changing rooms.

North Beach in South Haven, MI is a beautiful, laid-back gem on the Lake Michigan shoreline. Known for its wide sandy beach, gentle waves, and easygoing vibe, it’s a favorite for families and locals alike. The beach offers great views of the historic South Haven Lighthouse and the nearby pier, especially at sunset when the sky lights up with vibrant colors. There’s a peaceful charm here — a little quieter than South Beach, but just as scenic and relaxing. Amenities like clean restrooms, food stands, and a boardwalk make it convenient, while the shallow water near shore makes it perfect for swimming and wading. Parking is close and accessible, and it’s a short walk to the sand. Whether you’re looking to swim, sunbathe, take a stroll, or just listen to the waves, North Beach delivers a classic Lake Michigan experience full of charm and serenity.

My two younger kids and my husband and I went last weekend- even though the water was unseasonably cold, we still got in the water and had a blast! We made sand castles, dug holes and tried to burry my son in the sand like u see on tv lol…. We played on the playground equipment, walked the Peir and finished our day/ evening off with a bite to eat and the delicious ice cream at the little stand that had been there since I was a child! Wonderful memories, and I had a blast making new memories!!!! Parking was a bit tricky because it is always so crowded- but after circling 2X we found a great space right at the sand/ beach! Parking was $10 for the day, I’m happy to pay $10 to have a great close space…. I really can not say anything bad about N Beach, S Haven ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A beautiful beach with lots of room. My wife and I visited this beach 3 days in a row!

Beautiful beach. Water too rough and red flags out advising not to swim.

Super fun day with our group of 11, ages 24 to 84! We did (almost) everything from the bubble station, to roping cows, to petting the goats, to picking blueberries. Abby and the store staff made us feel especially welcome!

Love this little place. Stopped during my bike ride on the Kal haven trail to check it out. Went back after and got beautiful flowers and great blueberries. Great farm activities for the little ones. Will definitely be going back!

Excellent blueberry picking with multiple varieties of blueberries. Cute bakery and shop where you can get a treat, lunch, produce or souvenirs. Lemon blueberry cookie was amazing! Many activities for kiddos. Indoor flushing bathrooms with running water is a perk near the fields! Shady picnic areas to take a break!

Loved visiting this farm for fall fun with my child! Lots of kids’ activities were available (my child’s favorites were the bounce house, sand pit, and petting zoo) and they offer a farm market with fresh produce, cider, and souvenirs. Parent favorites were the serene environment and shaded/ wooded exploration & play area. The petting zoo animals were well-socialized and seemed very happy and well cared for, with clean and comfortable enclosures. As a mom, I was so impressed by the staff’s kindness, warmth, and patience with kids. We were there late in the day not long before close, and the staff made sure my child got to take full advantage of the amenities and even let her pet a goat out of its enclosure. We couldn’t be more glad we stopped by Bumbleberry Acres. Thank you!

Lots of options for the kids with their activities. Was too late to pick blueberries, but was able to puck flowers! The kids loved it from the bubbles to the animals!! Loved each activity!

We had a great time visiting the farm! The animals were so fun to feed and interactive! They have a great selection of products made from blueberries. We ended up doing the 5 dollar fun pass! I think it’s made for kids around 3-5. The fun pass includes the homemade fairy forest , petting zoo, and bouncy houses. It could use a slight polishing, but a great little place!

Such a great value! So many activities here, the U-Pick is a great deal. The market area has a wide variety of tempting things and the shaved ice was fantastic after a hot afternoon. Even aside from that though, the people who work here are so friendly and helpful. Especially the people out facilitating the various activities. They were really great with the kids and went out of their way to make sure we had a great experience. Love this place!

Abby and the entire staff were so helpful and kind! Abby shared about some of the changes to the pricing as the farm needs to find new ways to be profitable. My group was entirely adults - 11 of us - and to the negative reviews, I have to say you just need to embrace play! We had a great time with the play activities, from blowing bubbles to petting animals. To top it all off, the blueberries are fantastic, and the store had so many delicious treats to choose from.
