If you’re a fan of classic cars, this museum is a mustsee. The collection is vast and seems endless, with many beautifully preserved vintage models. During my visit, there was also a special Tintin exhibition, which made it even more enjoyable.

This was a quick day trip for us while staying in Basel. Amazing collection of automotive history and well worth spending a few hours to explore. The collection of cars from the Tintin books was very cool, particularly if you're a Tintin fan like me!

DEFINITELY A MUST if you're in Mulhouse area, east France. The fact that Musée National de l'Automobile has an collection of more than 400+ cars ranging from more than 100 years ago, is amazing itself. Not to mention they have probably the world most complete collection of Bugatti, like almost a hundred of them. And one of them in the Masterpiece area, the 1936 50T Cabriolet, is now the world most expensive vehicle, worth 100M Euro !!! The details of it, and the idea of building a luxury car back to almost 100 years ago, is really highly admired.

One of the best car museums i’ve ever been. It’s really worth every penny you’re paying for it. Tons of great, rare and unique pieces you will find there. Nice location, brilliant realisation. All cars are in good condition, and like in any other real museum, you can smell oil, gasoline and old leather from them. If you have kids or you just unbelievably love cars, you’ll be happy there

Millions of dollars worth of cars, and they couldn’t get a decent translator for the placards? Honestly it became kind of amusing just how bad the English translations were after a while. The cars are stunning, there is no denying that. Arguably the most complete collection of vintage Bugattis in the world (but surprisingly no modern ones - no Chiron, EB110, not even a Veyron? Maybe they’re locked away somewhere else) 1/4 of the cars in the main hall were covered in white drapes due to construction. To the contractors/ museum officials, I say to you: “ plastic sheeting comes in transparent forms”. Overall a vanity project of a (now dead) rich white guy but there’s some stellar automotive and racing history laid out in these rooms. You’re in Mulhouse, you’re likely gonna go.

Quite possibly one of the greatest car collections in the world. The outside is Beautifully presented... Upon entering the building you have no idea of how overwhelming this place can be. As you begin walking around and seeing a few cars you get lulled into it being a normal museum.... But then you walk into the room with a few Bugattis... You keep walking and seeing more Bugattis... Then you realise, one whole side is just Bugattis 🤯 Then you see the Bugatti Royale.. and realise hold on the have two Bugatti Royales 🤯 .. This place is crazy the sheer number of Bugattis and special cars is crazy... Then the story of the Schlumpf brothers ... Simply put, if you are a car lover you must come here... It's epic.. The shock value never diminishes even after multiple trips

One of the best car collections I have seen. From old to new and some extremely rare peices. We spent about 3 hours in here. There were lots of other things inside to keep children entertained too. There was a section all about Tintin which showed the different books and the cars linked to it which was nice. There was a driving simulator, small ride on cars and a vr F1 experience.

If you are a train fan, reserve 3-4 hours of your time to see everything. For everyone else: at least 2 hours to just walk the whole thing. Fantastic collection, large and diverse. Great for all ages; there are educational sections, too, to learn how trains work. Entrance was 16 EUR, which, in my opinion, is absolutely reasonable for the content you are getting. There is a local restaurant on site where you can eat for 15-20 EUR per adult, drinks included. Very easy access by public transport: 20-minute tram ride + 450-meter walk.

I was especially fascinated to learn about the most luxurious 'apartment trains,' which were essentially rolling homes complete with sleeping rooms, dining cars, showers, and even private cabinets. It was a genuine surprise to see how many domestic comforts were available on the rails, historically and perhaps even today. What truly sets this museum apart is its immersive organization. It’s not just a static collection of old trains, but a thoughtful presentation of a specific historical era. The museum does an excellent job of creating the atmosphere of the past by installing various figures to simulate scenes of travel and daily life. While I would agree that the figures themselves weren't always aesthetically perfect, the recreated scenes and detailed environments successfully brought the history to life, offering a powerful sense of context and time.

Nice Zoo with happy and clean animals. Unfortunately, this time half of the park was on reconstruction and some other animals were hiding. Another thing I didn't get is why there is some garbage in the polar bear's pool?

It took me 4 hours to see everything. However, I was there mid september, so a lot of the flowers died off. So, it would have taken me longer, had I arrived in spring or summer. Well worth the entrance fee.

Due to the weather being gloomy and cold, we couldn't see a lot of the animals. Because of construction and cleaning, only the toilet at the entrance was available, which was such a hassle as we didn't know about it. My favourite part of the visit was the Petits Amazon and seeing the cutest little beings.

The Zoo is in the process of reconstructing the African section, so some areas are not accessible, but it's still a MUST see in Mulhouse. It houses several animals in extreme danger of extinction, and performs solid scientific studies and helps in their preservation. Among the rarest the Panthera Nebulosa and the Amur Leopard are magnificent examples. The Sea Lions, the Red Panda, the meerkats, the Polar bears.... Indeed a small and very interesting Zoo.

Apart from that it was Nice. 1) Buy your before coming to avoid queuing. 2)Most sure the weather is great to be able to see all the animals. 3)To avoid people go on Sunday. Came to Mulhouse for Cité du Train, but ended up loving the Electropolis Museum (2 mins away by foot) just as much. Great for kids and adults alike! Take advantage of the nice discount when you visit both museums.

Excellent museum of electricity with plenty of information in French, English and German. Very interactive, good for all ages from 5 years and up. It is located by the huge train museum and has a discounted combo ticket option. Must see in Alsace Lorraine.

Nice museum about the history of electricity. The beginning is somewhat dry and maybe not very appealing to children. The show about static electricity was great. „The machine“ was cool, but the videos chaotic. Also liked the little experiments afterwards. Some could use some fixing. Game in the garden was funny, but only doable because there weren’t many kids, would have been hard to do them otherwise.

The place provides a page of history on electricity and its evolution. I discovered there electric machines used by my grandparents, which was really nice.

This was a surprisingly lovely museum and experience. It's two floors, with an exhibit that stays constant, and one that changes. It's tasteful and well done. It's never crowded (!) We enjoyed the fabrics of display, the historical pieces the merchants brought from Asia and the Orient during the peak of textiles in Mulhouse, and the historical display of printed fabrics until the present. The latter was a probably the highlight for me. I wanted to see more fabrics, especially more dresses! Some were beautiful. The building was purpose built as a museum. The entrance ticket was a small piece of printed fabric, that was a nice surprise. I liked the printing room a little less, but understand its value historically. I enjoyed also the small shop, just wish I had more to spend there.

Lovely museum. I was delighted to see a Peter Breughel ( younger) painting on display. I am now in my sixties but saw a poster of the painting in my junior school days and have never forgotten it! The quiet room/ art room was a great addition. ( Children will surely be encouraged by this!) Well I am a big kid and am now able to say I have exhibited at the museum! It may not be exhibited for long but the five minutes it took, I enjoyed. I called my drawing "La Gare" after our train trip round Europe. Regards Malcolm Kerr.

We visited the museum free of charge (everytime you visit it you don't need to pay for the ticket) which is super! You can see modern and classical art pieces. The staff is nice EXCEPT an old lady from the 1st floor who was so rude. I think the lady should already retired because she doesn't love her job and doesn't love the visitors.
