Rocky mountain offering sweeping summit views of sunsets & islands, plus a sculpture park.

Nicely renovated with new stairs. Go early so it's not so hot, and bring water!
Nice hike. Fairly short, but you are rewarded with a nice view of Mokpo and the bay.
AMAZING view of the entire city of Mokpo and the nearby islands at the summit. On a clear day, one of the best views in Jeolla. Only catch, it is a brutal hike if you’re out of shape like me. Lots and lots and lots of stairs. If you’re not actively working out or not a hiker, you will be in for a rude awakening. Also, if you park at the bottom, you have to pay for it.
This is a fabulous mountain because it is still similar to when my appah was young. There used to be a lot of beautiful Buddhist structures but they are gone now. My appah said there used to be a lot of ajummas selling makkeoli alcohol in the past and we found the last remaining one! If you start at 노적봉 Nojuk rock and walk towards The first and second rock 일등바위 and 이등바위, there is a 8 sided pavilion where an ajumma sells makkeoli, snacks and drinks. Please support her! If you also walk off the beaten path toward rock 1 and rock 2 and past that, you will go down off the beaten pathways that are more rugged and more natural the way it used to be. I find it charming. If you take the pathway towards the marine sculpture (modern sculpture which is rubbish), it will lead out to a street. Cross the street and you will find original shanty like homes from ~70 years ago. If you want to look on Google maps look up Doldamjib chicken restaurant. Fascinating. Note: People still live in these homes so you may just look at it from the main road. I was with my appah and was able to go down to the neighbourhoods and walk down old time memories. Please spend your money in the old town and not the new town. The old town needs your money. They want to redevelop the old town but i hope they do not. These old moon dilapidated villages are beautiful and some of the last standing. So much of Korea is developed and modern and any neighbourhood you go to looks like just any other littered with massive apartment buildings. Anyway enjoy!
You can see the mountains, sea, and downtown of Mokpo at a glance. We can climb the mountain in 30 minutes, so I think we should eat and go up slowly. It is also romantic to see lights coming on from Mokpo Bridge at night.
For people who like olle trail, this is a nice location. You can walk the trail and take cable car to another island.
Great views, beware if you have hip, knee, shoulder or back issues, take it slow

We loved it. And spent a lot of time there. There's 3 parts to explore. Kids will be most interested in the animal/ dinosaur exhibits. But there are 2 other entrances: 1) history of money and and art ( which was beautiful), and 2) traditional Korean pottery. The detail and quality is pretty impressive. My son is already asking to go back for another visit. We enjoyed the gardens surrounding the museum too. There's all the facilities you'll need. Right accross the street is the marine museum. With access to a seaside walkway.
This museum has some of the most interesting fossil finds, geological and seashell collections I've ever seen... and most are from the local area! The dinosaur exhibit was spectacular and even showed a video on the history of dinosaurs on the wall of the round room which almost looked 3D. The insects, flowers and fauna section were like walking in an art museum, very beautifully displayed and so much to see. It's just the right size to spend a couple hours with the family while in the gorgeous town of Mokpo. An amazing lady who recognized we didn't speak Korean or read Hangul approached us and walked us to thru the entire museum like a personal tour guide and gave the history on where fossils, gems, meteorites were found in Mokpo and even what plants they like to use for tea, food or medicine and it didn't cost a dime. They even have a 4D Dino theater that plays just about every hour! For a family of 5 it only cost us 12,000 WON to get in and the 4D theater costs 2,000 per person. Take your time here, you won't regret this amazing experience.
Museum of history. Big place with not that many items. The dinosaur eggs were great and the highlight. I'm happy it is here and I hope people visit. Lots of rocks
It is a small museum but we like it
family friendly vibes all around. access ticket to all types of museum in one complex. money worth spend.
Good place to go with our childs. Very informative and a good asset of Mokpo city.
A dinosaur egg nest is located in Mokpo Because it was discovered Aphaedo island in sinan Aphaedo was the center of maritime activity during the Baekje period and it was the Sambyulcho's excuse for the Great Dream Uprising This fossil is the largest and best dinosaur egg fossil found in Korea so It was designated as a natural monument for the first time as an individual fossil due to its high irradiation value in the late Cretaceous period Mokpo museum of Natural History is closed on every Mondays the others day business hours 9AM~6PM and the entrance fee is 3000 won for adults 2000 won for teenager 1000 won for elementary school student This place has good parking facilities so I recommend you to drive your own car I recommend this place because there are many things to see and they facilities are clean
Amazing place to see so many fossil. Kids can enjoy watching different fossil.

This is the best museum that I have been to in Korea. Even though it is tiny, it accommodates a variety of artifacts that were retrieved from the wrecked ships. The stuff and history were fascinating and intriguing. I really recommend this museum for South Koreans.
This is beyond my expectation. There are well organized heritages from the sea and it helped us imagine how it was and what happened. You can learn about the connections between the countries at the ancient time, how they communicate, how they trade their goods. There are good story tellings. If you visit Mokpo area, I recommend to visit this place.
This museum and institute is so interactive and good place to bring children to visit, the Shinan shipwreck has been well preserved and introduced!
Fascinating museum with a focus on maritime history in South Korea. From ancient times to today. Special exhibition in the sinking of a massive Chinese ship off the western coast nearly 700 years ago. Extremely cool. Their signage is in English and Korean. Very neat place!
Really interesting, free museum documenting sea bed ship excavation of a trading ship full of porcelain from china from around 1300's. Thousands of china pieces on display. There is an audio guide in english but we did not use. Items were labelled in english and korean.
This is a really engaging museum with a really boring name. They should call it something more exciting like "The Shipwreck and Treasure Museum". Lots of neat old reconstructed shipwrecks and interactive exhibits.
1. The history of shipwreck in the era of 14th 2. Abundant and beautiful antiquities 3. For kids and family, couples 4. Free entrance
A fantastic museum about discovered shipwrecks, using AV media. Texts are available in Korean and English, and you can get information through classic text reading or in a playful way via videos and animations. A museum for everyone, bringing the mysteries of underwater discoveries closer.
