Very narrow alley selling lots of seafood. Targeted at tourists. They sell huge crabs and other seafood, including dried seafood products. The alley is on a slope. There are also a few eating places, selling kaisendon. There is paid parking nearby at the top of the alley. Recommended if you are in the area, for the atmosphere and vibes!

the exhibition is not very big but educational with a good collection of rare species. The shows are entertaining especially the penguins going to picnic. It is a perfect sized aquarium ; you get enough but not exhausted. There are not computer simulations nor games to attract children, only real natural things. So don’t need to worry about screens. 👏

When i first saw this, I told my friend that I won't be seeing a museum of a bank since I worked in a bank for my whole career. But somehow, I ended up getting a museum pass, and this museum is included, so I visited this place as well. If you are looking for something to do in the afternoon in Otaru that doesn’t have too many tourists, I recommend here. It isn’t so busy, but the train trip is packed. It is only a short ride though. There are so many interesting things to see here and learn about trains and their history in Hokkaido. The kids loved it. We have been here three times already X-D
