High altitude marshland in a national park featuring a variety of species of plants & hiking trails.
Slide 1 of 8
Visited in mid July. The weather was great in the morning. Temperature quite high, refreshing breeze in the mountain trail with lot’s of trees but not cold. The hike was fun, trail is not difficult, beginner level. Depending how far you want to go, running/walking shoes are okay. Be careful of slippery wood pathway when wet. Bring your water and snacks, the rest area’s foods & drinks are slightly expensive but still acceptable, good portion & okay taste. In the afternoon it rained a lot! It was pouring hard, luckily we were back to the starting point just in time. Apparently, weather can change drastically in mountain so it is good to be prepared for sudden rain. Very fun. Would like to come back in different seasons.
Walkway across Ozegahara in Oze National Park, Japan, Ozegahara, a sprawling area of marshes and moorland, is the green heart of Oze National Park. This large nature reserve spreads out over four prefectures in central Japan, and the Oze marshland in Gunma Prefecture is shadowed by Mount Shibutsu, seen in our image. Also featured are some of the park's sinuous wooden walkways stretching across waterlogged terrain. There are miles of these boardwalks, allowing for easy trekking around the park. They also shield much of the delicate ecosystem from too much foot-traffic—basically, they keep feet dry and plants untrammeled. The high-altitude park is home to a number of beautiful alpine flowers, including the Asian skunk cabbage, which blooms after the last snows melt, and is much prettier than its name might suggest.
Beautiful walk in early August

(Translated by Google) I visited in late October. Ozegahara! The mountains are starting to change color, there is no wind, and there are few people in the best location! I was able to spend a very elegant time. I was quite worried because I had been seeing bears one after another in Ozegahara, but luckily I didn't encounter any! Also, I couldn't cross the Yoppi Bridge. There is a caution sign (Original)
(Translated by Google) This was our first visit to Ozegahara as a couple, both over 70 years old, entering from Hatomachi Pass. It was a little windy so unfortunately we couldn't capture the reflection of Mt. Shibutsu and Mt. Hiuchi. But we were greeted by an abundance of flowers, including skunk cabbage, marsh marigolds and Japanese primrose. Anyway, under the blue sky we could see Mt. Shibutsu and Mt. Hiuchi, with its vast marshes and numerous ponds. We were greedy and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, visiting Yamanohana and the Research Sample Garden, Miharashi, TEPCO Hut and Ushikuyamanohana. However, perhaps due to the snow, the boardwalk was in such bad condition in some places that it felt dangerous. The porter group is raising funds through crowdfunding and is slowly repairing it, but it is not keeping up. We also saw foreign tourists, and it is unsafe. There also appear to be difficulties in management, so we felt that the maintenance system needs to be improved. This place is great if you want to learn to ski or snowboarding, the area is very large so you can practice comfortably. Also, they have a kids arena, so it's perfect for family trips. If you don't have ski or snowboarding equipment, don't worry, lots of equipment for rent is very affordable. If you feel hungry during your activities, they have many restaurants inside the arena, so you don't have to change your shoes and you can continue playing afterwards.
One of the biggest resorts I’ve been to in Gunma! In my opinion, this is a mountain built for skiers, which I loved. Some of the runs are even groomed during the day to keep things clean. So many options for runs, and despite lots of cars in the parking lot, the mountain never felt crowded even on a national holiday. I want to go back soon! Also, be aware there is a bit of the walk between the parking lot and ski base area so be ready to trek!
One of the best places to ski in Japan. Less than 3 hours drive from Tokyo via Japan’s fast and efficient network of expressways and tunnels. Great experience with family.
Discover the magic of Oze Iwakura, a ski resort with over 50 years of excellence. Immerse yourself in pristine powder snow and explore diverse ski courses suitable for all skill levels. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, this prestigious resort promises an unforgettable winter adventure. Embrace the thrill of the slopes!
Great resort. Big enough to enjoy for a two day trip; good quality snow, family friendly. Efficient operations. Probably one of the best options within a three hour drive from Tokyo, and the roads are cleared of snow which means you don’t have to bother with chains for your tires!
Great ski resort. Lines not long all. Multiple different levels of difficulty. Has activities for children. Multiple places to eat with great selections for food. English friendly. Staff is very nice and will help you if needed. Reasonably priced for a good day and night when available.
Every year I ski here. Very good snow. A lot of ski runs.
Great resort. Really nice gradient on runs. Would be five star but getting there by train and bus is not easy. It is doable, but means you will only get half days in when traveling from Tokyo. I want to go again!

Late December 2022 until late March 2023 2021-2022 season (actual): 25th December 2021 - 27th March 2022 Katashina Kogen is a ski area located in Katashina village in the northeastern region of Gunma Prefecture. It is one of the few ski areas in Japan that remains skiers-only. The popular character Miffy is very prominent at this ski area, and it emphasises family and children-oriented activities. There are three triple lifts and three pair lifts at Katashina Kogen, and the steepest course is 25 degrees. White World Oze Iwakura is closeby, though the two ski areas are not physically connected, and they do not share a joint lift ticket. Katashina Kogen has been operating since 1967. The region to the east of Minakami town and to the northeast of Numata city comprises Kawaba village and Katashina village. There are several ski areas around this region's mountains, all of which are accessed off the main Route 120 road from central Numata. The road is also known as the Nihon Romantic Highway. It continues east towards Nikko in Tochigi Prefecture, but the prefectural border section is closed during the main winter season.
Our first time visit here ❤️🥰 super enjoy 😊

(Translated by Google) I went on a weekday. Even if you are not a member, the one-day lift ticket is 3500 yen including a 1000 yen meal ticket, so I think it is one of the best ski resorts in terms of cost performance. There are medium-sized courses with plenty of number and scale to enjoy, and most of the courses are well-compacted and slippery. There are cottages on the slopes, and it seems possible to ski while staying there, so I think it's a nice place to spend some time relaxing. I was surprised at how quickly the food I ordered came out, even during busy times. I think it's a wonderful ski resort that gives you a sense of overall satisfaction.
(Translated by Google) These are my impressions of the mountain biking course during the green season. The course is short, but the lift ride time is also short, so even beginners can enjoy it repeatedly. The course mainly consists of flow trails and jumps. This year, a full-fledged jump lane was added, so even advanced riders can enjoy it. The way the lift loads is unique, so if it's your first time, please ask a staff member. The parking lot is on the grass next to the slope, so there is plenty of space to park. At reception, you sign a pledge at the management building before paying. QR code payment is also available. Rental bikes are also available. There are toilets and vending machines, but the restaurant was closed. The weather in Katashina Village is cool, so we enjoyed it even in the middle of summer. Although it's a long way from the nearest ski resort, Numata Interchange, it feels safer on the way than other ski resorts, even in the snow. A little information: It seems that the most crowded time of the year is the coming-of-age ceremony holidays every year, and the staff told me not to come today (lol). It becomes a campsite during the off-season! (Translated by Google) I came here for the first time in 20 years. The lift fee is 2/3 that of the neighboring Oze Iwakura, and it's only for skiing, so it's very comfortable and popular with many families with children. There was a lot of snow and the course was moderately slippery. There is a connecting course to Oze Iwakura Ski Resort, so I skied and walked from the parking lot to the gondola platform. I had an extra time pass for the lift at Iwakura, so I could have taken the gondola and skied at Iwakura, but I decided not to because the top of the mountain was covered with gas that day. You can ski from the Iwakura parking lot and return to Katashina, so it's easy to contact. I went back to Katashina Plateau and skied again and had a lot of fun. If you become a member, lift fees are cheap and parking is free, making it a great place to casually ski. Oze's ski resorts are Katashina Kogen, Iwakura, Togura, and Marunuma, all of which are good. By the way, the soy sauce ramen next to the parking lot was simple but delicious for 880 yen. There are some negative aspects, such as the lack of high-speed lifts and the view being obstructed by trees, but I think it's perfect for practicing as there are many medium slopes and it's only for skiers. Short hike of 2 hours but 70% elevation. We took the cable car till the middle. Kind of tough course. Rocky , gravel steep and crowded as well. Not enough toilets around. Incredible view of lake from the top part of Mt. Shirane.
Beautiful, well marked hike from top of gondola. Took about a little over 4 hours round trip, some loose rock at top but otherwise pretty safe. Beautiful scenery and loved the change as well went up!
It was an enjoyable climb with varied scenery and trails. The encounters with flowers along the way were also invigorating.
Mount Nikko Shirane, a prominent peak in the Nikko region, presents a captivating experience for mountain enthusiasts. Renowned for its scenic beauty, the summit offers panoramic views of surrounding landscapes, including the iconic Lake Chuzenji. The trek to the top, while challenging, rewards adventurers with a sense of accomplishment and awe-inspiring vistas. During winter, the mountain transforms into a winter wonderland, attracting snow enthusiasts. The tranquil atmosphere and pristine snow-covered slopes make it a haven for those seeking a serene escape. Whether for hiking or winter activities, Mount Nikko Shirane offers a memorable and picturesque adventure in the heart of nature.
The scenery at the top is breathtaking during sunny day. It is not a long way from the entrance to the top. Route is not that hard if you are an experienced hiker. Be careful to the area closed to the top. It is fulled of little rocks and easy to slide down. There are many direction signs along the way at each intersection. You won't get lost at all. If you go downhill the other way, there will be large rock steps that you have to use your hands. Overall it is a very nice experience to climb to the top of this mountain.
It was an epic adventure for me! So happy to be here! Just got lucky I've got some one to hike with last saturday I met Suzuki sang at the parking area. It was a quiet long and mesmerizing hike! Took us 3hrs and half hours to reach the summit and another 3 hrs to descend. Thank you for guiding me Suzuki sang till we meet again!! ❤️🇯🇵
Gorgeous hike that is well marked so suggest starting early. No service for NTT Docomo or Softbank so be prepared going in. There's a lake halfway up (takes 1:30 hours) that's a beautiful break area and has many benches for people to rest on. The second leg is more open and can be windy/chilly. All in about 4 hours to the top one way and isn't too tough for experienced hikers. One of my favorites in Japan
I had gone to mount sirane last year October. It was so much beautiful view from the top. There was rope way. After finishing the rope way it takes about 3 hours walk.strong wind on the top and its better to take out warm clothes.

(Translated by Google) I used it on a weekday during the holidays. There was a lot of snow on the road to the ski resort due to the heavy snowfall. It's a long way from the expressway interchange, and there was a traffic jam due to snowplow work, so it's best to leave plenty of time to get there after a snowfall. Since it is far from the high-speed interchange, studless tires are recommended. There is a 500 yen discount coupon on the website, so if you show it, the lift ticket will be cheaper. The lift is fast and takes you to the top in no time. Since it was a weekday, I was able to ride without lining up. The course was very interesting with a combination of steep and slow slopes. There was only one slope course for beginners, but I think it is generally suitable for intermediates and above. One thing I was disappointed about was that the lady working at the hotel's dining room was making negative comments in front of the customers, so I didn't feel like eating. I'm scared to eat food that was made while complaining. I'm not wearing a mask, so droplets are flying around. The course was good, so I would like to bring a packed lunch next time.
(Translated by Google) Due to the cold weather, there was a lot of snow on the road to the ski resort. The snow is well removed and the road is not steep, so you can walk safely even if there is snow on the road. My car is a front-wheel drive + studless car, and my family is not used to snowy roads, so I took precautions and put on chains when I got off the highway and there was more snow on the road. (The only car we passed that was equipped with chains was a large bus.) I skied for 2 days (Holiday + weekday) 1 night and 2 days (overnight at Oze Kogen Hotel). It wasn't crowded either day and it was very slippery. For children and beginners, I think the lesson slope at the back is best. The slope is very gentle. There is a short distance from the parking lot or hotel entrance to the 4th pair lift (lesson slope), and it is a slope, so it can be a bit tiring to move with a board. The lesson slope is short, so you can finish skiing quickly. I would like to move on to the intermediate course once I get used to it, but I was scared of the lesson slope → intermediate course as it felt like a much higher level for my child. Restaurant Oze has many seats and many menus. I bought a chocolate banana crepe at Kurara Cafe, but I was a little disappointed because the bananas weren't ripe (hard and not sweet). There was a small coin locker (200 yen) right next to the entrance, but it was the type where you couldn't get your money back, so it was a little inconvenient because you couldn't open or close it halfway. Some people were putting their luggage on the shelf at the end of Restaurant Oze. (At your own risk) I always go to a ski resort in Nagano, so I thought the snow quality would be better there, but I don't think it matters unless you're a very advanced skier.

(Translated by Google) Search online for famous ski resorts for day trips on weekdays off. The Oze Tokura Ski Resort (now Snow Park Oze Tokura), which I went to several times nearly 20 years ago, caught my eye. On weekdays, Wednesdays are ``Men's Day'' and the meal ticket costs 1,100 yen, and the one-day ticket is 3,000 yen, which is a super bargain! What's more, parking is free! (It seems like it was free in the past, but that's okay!) Decide your destination as Snow Park Oze Tokura Arrived at the ski resort just after 8am on Wednesday morning. The parking lot near the slopes is probably open on weekdays, so there are no guides, so please park your car in the same way as the surrounding cars. After changing clothes, go to the ticket office I look at the price list posted while waiting in line for several people, but there is no information about ``Men's Day'' anywhere. (Huh? Did I misunderstand? Did I mistake it for another ski resort? Or is today an exclusion day?) I'm worried and check it on my smartphone, but it looks like it's correct. When it was my turn, I ordered without fear, saying, ``It's Men's Day...'' and successfully purchased it for 3000 yen. After purchasing, I was concerned about whether if someone who didn't know about Men's Day information ordered a regular one-day ticket, the ticket office would tell them, "Today is Men's Day, so this is a great deal!" Probably not Because I saw several men with regular one-day passes in their ticket holders. Information debaido. That aside, let's go to the slopes Today I felt like I was half skiing and snowboarding. There are 2 high-speed lifts and 2 normal lifts in operation. The longest course is about 2200 meters, but it's not bad. In fact, this slope at this price is the best! ? (Limited to weekdays as the crowd situation on weekends is unknown) There are many kickers, jibs, etc. for snowboarding. Although there are no long courses, each course has its own pace and is quite enjoyable. Unfortunately, there are no restaurants where you can eat early (before 10am)! (Maybe there will be a weekend?) We recommend that you come with a fairly full stomach or bring some food with you. Early lunch after 11am Ordered the beef tendon stew set meal for 1,100 yen (just enough for the lunch ticket) The taste was okay, but perhaps because of the way it was presented, there was only a piece of beef tendon and half of it. By the way, there is a sign that says ``You cannot purchase alcoholic beverages with your lunch ticket.'' After lunch, have a coffee break at a coffee and crepe shop in the same building. Afternoon session starts Ended today with a total of 20 lifts I will repeat it if Wednesday is a day off. Family resort in gumma. With some nice Backcountry.
(Translated by Google) Information for the 2024-2025 season. ●Overall impression I think this is a ski resort suitable for families of three generations, including children and grandparents. It is a long-established ski resort with 100% natural snow that can be said to be a hidden gem among ski resorts that can be accessed on a day trip from the Tokyo metropolitan area. The course layout is divided into a beginner-intermediate area, an advanced area, and a park area, so you can ski stress-free depending on your level. This ski resort is recommended for beginners and intermediate skiers who have started to be able to make turns. There are steep slopes and wall terrain, so even advanced skiers will be satisfied. ●About congestion Although it is basically a little-known ski resort, it gets very crowded during the year-end and New Year holidays and the three-day holidays in January and February. I don't think there are any ski resorts within 3 hours from the metropolitan area that are open during those consecutive holidays. By the way, during the year-end and New Year holidays, the exceptions are New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, which are relatively empty. For your reference, we will post a video of the ski run on New Year's Day 2025. ●Be careful on the beginner's detour course There is a beginner's detour that leads from the middle of Hotaka Skyway to the upper part of the Romance Course, but it is best not to ski on this part. The slope is so low that I end up stopping halfway. Moreover, it is narrow and has many curves, making it difficult for beginners. ●Access, parking lot Access from Numata Interchange is further away than Kawaba or Tambara, but closer than Marunuma Kogen. It's within easy day trip distance from Tokyo. There are not many steep slopes on the road, but the road in front of the parking lot has sharp curves and can be slippery. Parking fee is free. There will be directions, so you won't have to worry about where to park. Between the parking lot and the center house, you will have to walk up the slope with your tools. In recent years, some ski resorts have installed covered escalators between the parking lot and the center house, so walking can be a burden for some people. However, you can forcefully and efficiently warm up before skiing first thing in the morning. Skiing and snowboarding are dangerous sports, so I think it's important to do some warm-up exercises to catch your breath before skiing. On Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, the parking lot tends to be quite far from the slopes even if you arrive around 9:00 a.m. due to the crowds. A shuttle bus is waiting in the parking lot and you can take the bus to the slopes. After skiing, you can ski back to the parking lot by skiing on the "welcome course" located at the back of the first lift platform. Having said that, it is very unfortunate that the access between the slope and the parking lot is poor. ●Lift Since it is a long-established ski resort, there are only pair lifts, which are slow and have no hoods. Some lifts do not have safety bars. There are some places where you have to climb a little hill to get on the lift. To get to the top of the mountain, you will need to take four lifts. This may be a little troublesome. However, there is a sense of accomplishment when you reach the top of the mountain. My child has a strong urge to move his body rather than sitting still on the lift, so he seemed happy to have the transfer. For those who wish to be efficiently transported to the mountaintop by gondola or high-speed lift. We recommend going to another ski resort. ●Break room, toilet, changing room The Center House has a reserved rest space for a fee, which is convenient for groups with children and seniors. The restrooms and changing rooms of the center house are on the first basement floor, and there is no elevator, so it may be a bit of a struggle for families with small children. That is something I would like to see improved. If your child has a sudden need to defecate, there is also a restroom in the restaurant building adjacent to the center house, so we recommend using that. There are also several buildings halfway up the slope where you can take a break, so you won't have to worry about taking a restroom break while skiing. The center house building is relatively new and clean, but the facilities halfway up the slope are aging. ●Lift ticket A deposit of 500 yen is required for IC tickets. You can receive a refund at reception. You can pre-purchase a slightly cheaper lift ticket that comes with a meal ticket online, and you can get a lift ticket and meal ticket by scanning the QR code at the automatic ticket vending machine inside the center house. It's convenient to not have to wait in line at the reception counter.
(Translated by Google) During the three-day weekend in February, right in the middle of the season, I was looking for a ski resort in the Gunma Prefecture area that was not too crowded and not too crowded. My memory of this area was that it was rather minor in my memory about 20 years ago, so I went there for the first time in about 20 years. By the way, at that time there was a ski resort nearby, so I used to go there a lot because it had a cross course and a lot of parks 😄 It's a shame that it's gone now. However, the quad lift that comes out from the foot of the mountain that I remembered is gone, and in order to get to the top of the mountain, you have to transfer to three pair lifts. That would have been fine, but since there is no quad lift, the transportation capacity is quite low, and the pair lift at the base has a long queue, so the waiting time for the lift was long and difficult😩😩😩 Fortunately, I didn't have to wait long for anything other than the lifts at the bottom, so I skied as much as possible without going down to the bottom, but I was in despair when I accidentally went down to the bottom. I was once again reminded that we need to consider the lift's transportation capacity when choosing a ski resort. Also, are there parking lots 1 to 5? Sixth? The slopes are divided into 1 and 2, and you can walk to the slopes, but if you decide to park in the 3rd parking lot or later, you will have to take a shuttle bus to get to the slopes, so if you end up in the 3rd or later parking lot, it will be quite a hassle. There seems to be a course where you can ski down to the parking lot on your way back.

As a result, there was still some powder left in the afternoon, and everyone who entered the forest area outside the top course was stopped and warned (to show their lift ticket). I get the impression that it is well-controlled, as if it is being monitored from the lift landing area below. Do not go off-course except at approved ski resorts. The lower lift had a long line starting before 10 a.m. on the middle of a three-day weekend, and the wait seemed to be 15 to 20 minutes. As for the parking lot, I arrived at 7 o'clock and was in the 3rd parking lot. From there, it's about a 10 minute walk up the hill to the lift ticket office. It's pretty hard to wear boots. It looks like it will take about 20 minutes to get to the 5th station, but there seems to be a shuttle bus. There was a line waiting for the bus after 4pm, but... (Translated by Google) My child has used NSD's program and has benefited from it every time. Even adults can enjoy the course with its rich terrain. I feel like the ratio of snowboarding and skiing is about 50/50. Many children also use the snow escalators for beginners to go sledding or skiing. The only disappointing points are that the second floor of the center house is a paid seat, and the parking lot is spread out, so you can't bring your own food or drinks in even though you can't get back to your car without using the shuttle bus. In this day and age of high fuel prices and high fuel prices, it's tough for people who want to ski as much as possible while saving money. The shuttle bus drivers were always nice and kind. (Translated by Google) First visit on 24/1/28. Most of the courses are wide and have a moderate slope, and the slopes are not that crowded, so overall I think the course is easy to carve and speed up. In particular, the 3500m course (intermediate course) from the top of the ski resort, running from Slope 6 to Slope 5 to Hotaka Skyway, is exhilarating and has a moderate slope, making it easy to fly. I was skiing on it and felt that it was a course that I liked. The course layout is well-structured and there are many courses that are challenging to ski, and the snow quality is relatively good, but I would like to see a little more effort put into the facilities. There is no high-speed lift (there used to be one), the waiting time for the first and second lifts is long, the basement of the ski center is dark, and the cleaning seems to be a step up. What I was particularly dissatisfied with was the lack of course information within the ski resort. I would like this to be improved as it is difficult to understand. Also, public transportation is inconvenient, and if it's late, you'll have to park at the bottom of the parking lot. I think you can also use a tour bus.

Due to the fermentation process involved in dyeing, temperature control is necessary, and I am humbled by the need to maintain proper temperature control even in the cold winter. It is run by a kind old man. How about enjoying the quiet passage of time while dyeing indigo? There is a clear stream flowing right next to it, and there are plenty of negative ions. postscript I received a call from a relative that the owner passed away in 2023. ‘Twas a great experience to trek Ozegahara on the first day and hike Mt. Shibutsu on the second day. Both my 2nd time trekking and hiking.⛰️🎌🗾🥰
Perfect place for day hiking 🥾. The place is also very beautiful and surrounded by mountains 🌄, best place for family also.
Great place to visit in Japan. Specially for nature lovers. Best time Aug mid to Sept mid
It is really nice place for hiking! I went there at August but it wasn’t too hot. You can take a lot of good pictures here and enjoy the nature. You can also select stay log cabins in the park. We were not able to do it because they were all full booking. If you are interested and have enough time, highly recommended!
Amazing place, the trees, the water, the fresh air, the lovely animals, and the amazing stars. I went there after a rainy day, the whole national park is like being refreshed. But we failed to get to the top of the highest mountain because the road is way too muddy.
Enjoying a mountain trekking throughout the Oze marshland under clear blue sky. There are a bunch of beautiful grasses at The height of the fall foliage. Oze is the largest marshland in Japan. It is surrounded by three prefectures: Fukushima, Tochigi, and Gunma.
It’s a beautiful place but they charge us too much just for parking, round trip bus ride between Oze and the bus stop. 2 ppl with a car for a day trip = 5000 yen. Will probably stay in one of those mountain hunts next time I’m here. Overall, Oze was an incredibly beautiful spot where you can really enjoy the feeling of the nature and feel zen.

Awesome ski resort!!!!! Highly recommended!!
It's a great place for the Ski Lovers. There are also places for kids to enjoy activities with ice.
It's was a great experience. You can ski, snowboard and just play in the snow.
Many ski activity to do. Have a lot of fun
My first time join at the Labyrinth 🍀 It’s amazing
(Translated by Google) This resort is suitable for intermediate and beginner skiers. The slope is bowl-shaped, so it's small enough that you can see the whole thing from the base. The layout suggests that 70% of the skiers are elementary school students, and there are many schools, so it's recommended for beginners. There's a steep slope on the far left side, so advanced skiers can ski a little further. There's also a powder zone on the right side of the course, but it's deep, so beginners shouldn't go unless they know how to get out. The course starts at 08:30 and payment is cash only, but lift tickets are cheap. There are snow melting pipes from Minakami to the pass, so there's no need to worry about freezing. Based on prior reviews, we went fully equipped, but the pass is gentle and frequently cleared, so if you have a 4WD, you rarely need to use chains. For 2WD, it depends on your experience; locals and delivery workers didn't use them, but it's safer for inexperienced drivers to use chains before entering the pass. Even if you get stuck after climbing a certain distance, there's nowhere to turn them, and turning them on the snow surface requires experience. Lazy skiing can be costly and time-consuming, so it's best to take action early.

Located within Oze National Park, it is one of the most popular mountains in the Kanto region, where you can also enjoy Ozegahara, Japan's largest mountain wetland. Due to vegetation conservation, mountain climbing is only possible during Golden Week and from July to October, so hiking days are limited, but we highly recommend it to anyone living in the Kanto region, as a pleasant walk and beautiful scenery await you. The hiking trail is well maintained and easy to walk on, and although there are some steep rocky areas depending on the route, it is not too difficult and you should be able to enjoy the hike from start to finish.
