We have been to many of the D-day museums along the coast, but this was the most informative. I get word blind after reading so many different cations and information in the museums, but this was different. The 3D film is a must see. It explains the whole operation in an understandable way. Also the simulator was great in feeling a flight to the beaches.
This was one of the highlights of our Normandy visit. The D-Day Experience Museum offers a well-curated and very moving look at the D-Day invasion. The C-47 flight simulator was a fantastic immersive experience that really helped convey what the paratroopers faced. The museum also includes a large collection of uniforms, weapons, artifacts, and personal stories — all presented in a very engaging way. One of the standout elements was the Tom Brokaw–narrated film, which provided an excellent overview of the invasion and the human stories behind it. The museum is located right next to Dead Man’s Corner in Saint-Côme-du-Mont — where a Sherman tank was destroyed in front of the building that served as the HQ for the German Fallschirmjäger Regiment 6 (elite paratroopers). This location adds a powerful layer of historical context to the visit. Highly recommend spending time here — it’s an incredibly well-done museum that brings history to life. #DDayExperienceMuseum #DeadMansCorner #NormandyWWII #DDayHistory #SaintComeDuMont #C47Simulator #NormandyTravel
This is a museum you definitely want to visit when you're in Normandy. We did the film, the simulator, and visited the museum. The film is beautifully made and gives a clear depiction of the actual battles during D-Day and the days that followed. The 3D effect is fun, but not very impressive—3D films are a bit out of fashion in 2025. The simulator is well done but rather short. The museum itself isn’t very innovative, but the whole package is well worth it. We spent about two hours here. There’s also a lot you can buy, such as army clothing and even weapons. However, I do wonder if you’ll get into trouble if you try to take these weapons across the border.
Fantastic! There are many one-of-a-kind historical items on display here. That are attributed to certain veterans, many of which became famous due to the band of Brothers series. The museum does a great job of telling the personal stories of the men who fought and died here. The flight simulator is a must in my opinion however I wish I had skipped the 3d movie and spent that time in the museum. If you’re into ww2 history already the movie probably won’t tell you anything you don’t already know. in my opinion it’s for people who don’t already know about the events that took place in Normandy. You could easily spend a day in this museum. Spoiler, Normandy is full of great museums related to the D-Day landings. that are all failed with World War II artifacts. However, this museum combined with the flight simulator really is an experience, and I would put it at the top of the list.
A great museum — very detailed, with an excellent selection of gifts. The flight simulator, however, was underwhelming. It might appeal to children, but for adults, it’s quite basic, with simple effects and a very short duration. What stood out, though, was the pre-flight ‘briefing’ experience, which does a good job of making you feel like part of the mission.
If you go here after the Victory Museum you will be disappointed. It's more expensive but less well done. The flight simulator is nice but the exhibition is disappointing. Everything behind glass so hard totale pictures.
Great day here and exploring Carentan. Movie was 10/10 Simulator 5/10 ( don't expect too much). The Museum, and shop are FAB! I have never seen so much authentic 1944 /1945 gear for sale, amazing!
We couldn't come to Normandy and not learn something about the D-Day landings. The D-Day Experience was nearest to us, a good drive away, and Utah beach not far past it for a visit afterwards. Definitely pre-book to get the 3D cinema and paratrooper plane simulator experiences nicely timed. The museum exhibits will mean all the more if you have seen the film and experienced the simulator first. The centre is US focused as Utah beach was a US force landing. There is lots to read (in English and French), but all personal, meaningful experiences bringing home the tragic horror of the invasion, lots of jackets, but each one represents a life and individual experience of the invasion. The story of Dead Man's Corner is particularly poignant, especially as the house has not changed since the invasion, shows how the location of the museum and the DMC junction was central to the invasion and presents the German perspective in a tasteful way. Makes you want to know the story of each beach landing. A well put together and thought out presentation of a sensitive if very important world event.

The Church of Saint-Côme et Saint-Damien in Angoville-au-Plain played an important role during World War 2., especialy during the battle of Normandy in 1944. An event of great importance occurred there on june 6 and 7, 1944 the days after D-Day. Two american medics Robert Wright and Kenneth Moore, turned the church into an improvised medical station to care for the wounded whether Allied, German or civilian. During these critical days despite the fierce fighting outside, the church was a respected as a neutral zone. Wright and Moore cared for 80 people in the church and worked tirelessly to save many lives. Today the church preserves traces of this historic event, including bloodstained pews that still testify to the intensity of fighting and the care given within its walls. The site has become a memorial to honor the courage and humanity shown by these paramedics during one of the darkest periods in modern history. Good to add that during the biggest attacks wile the wounded soldiers were being cared for, a shell fell in to the church, it hit the floor but never exploded. Could this be God`s will...
You have to get a local guide to explain to you the miracle of this church. Such a quiet place with no priest and no services. It was used in WWII by Robert E Wright and Kenneth Moore, medics who cared for approx 90 soldiers (American and 7 Germans) and one young boy, all injured. During their caregiving a shell hit directly on the church, passing through the center of the roof onto the stone floor. It did not explode. This old church was named and dedicated by the locals to St. Côme and St. Damien, two twins, who were also caregivers. Inside the church is also the seashell marking a point on the Camino Pilgrimage. Robert E Wright’s ashes are outside with a small slab bearing only his initials
Interesting place to visit if interested in WW2 history
This small 12th century church brings a unique and personal insight into a tiny fraction of the D-Day onslaught through the heroics of two medics - Kenneth Moore and Robert Wright. They treated Germany and US troops here.
Interesting historic place. With the information displays outside it gives a good idea of what took place. Only thing I find a bit unrespectfull is the fact that inside the church they are selling cards of the blood stained church bench, like this is some sort of highlight. Facts do not have to be erased but to my opinion it shouldn't be commercialized.
nice little church with an interesting history. quite the nice visit.
Interesting WW2 history, but not a lot to see. (It was part of an Overlord tour. )
This is a must-see place in Normandy, to understand the story of 2 American medics in June 1944.

I recently purchased a bag and although I made a mistake on ordering they promptly contacted me and sorted my mistake they were very obliging and I was very pleased with the quality of the small crosscody bag I also recieved information leaflets which I will pass on I would highly recommend this online shop
They have a lot of knowledge about what is together..or what is used for a paratrooper etc. They gave Advice to me on what to buy when I seached for a trooper outfit and even wrote me a checklist for my reenactor outfit. The Service there is quick and you can talk to them in english too if you have problem with french.I would go there again and again. You have a lot of diffrent options on what to buy..from replicas to orginal stuff and its definitly a need to visit for people who love Reenactment and want to start with it! All the things on my picture came from the shop :)
They sell really great products. Also, they have given me all facilities with the delivery. The quality of products is absolutely perfect.
One of the best army surplus stores I've visited, they had a large selection of army surplus at good prices and lots of unique items and the staff was very helpful and nice.
Very good stuff vor ww2 Uniforms and somthing alse. Cheap and all lot of denix wapones. So best store for this 🪖
I purchased a tanker jacket and other items. The material arrived quickly and in perfect condition, as shown on the site. Furthermore, the owners are really helpful and kind: I had a problem with the shipments, due to an error on my part, but they solved it in a short time and also gave me a discount. Highly recommended!
Excellent customer service and quick delivery.
I ordered to Ireland and my package has arrived so fast without any problem. I am really happy with it! La Petite Musette has perfect service, goods and great communication to their customers. I am pretty sure I will order again soon! :) Thank you very much!

Very clean and nice place, remember following the numbers stated in around the town to view the story.
Hiked to an observation point with our dog on leash. Great dog friendly activity to do while your family is at the Utah Beach museum (which is not dog friendly).
A beautiful walk with places to sit and relax. People were walking, jogging and cycling around the area. I was walking my dogs. Next time I will bring a picnic lunch.
Well maintained cemetery. Sad for the unknowns in a mass grave, sad that one person and his cronies caused such death and destruction. For what? Supremacy.
A lovely, peaceful place to walk in Nature😊
Spent three hours on a Promenade Fluvial along the Douvre et Marsis. Lovely calm afternoon and beautiful countryside
It's a must visit location Only had a quick visit to see the church, but looks like other locations to visit at this site Must stop there next time we are passing
Great if you're into the second world war. Went back several times over the span of a week.

If you are a fan of the series “Band of Brothers then this is a must visit. If not… it’s just a field with cow dung…. However… as a person who loves history and has great admiration for “the greatest generation “ I just had to visit and pay my respects. Not to mention our tour guide from Overlord tours was fantastic and I learned a lot as well.
The owner of the Manor was really kind and allowed our tour group to go into the field and see where Easy Company assaulted the gun emplacements on D-Day. We also got to see some partial excavation of the trenches in the treeline to the right of the field. I'll remember this day for the rest of my life.
If you seen the mini series or studied the attack it is incredible to be in that location. As far as I know it is only available to Overlord tours. We went on the Band of Brother's D-Day tour which was spectacular.
Historical and interesting particularly for anyone who is interested in WW2. If you have ever watched Band of Brothers you will know the significance of this place.
Beautifully converted hotel.
Working farm and house. No visits. Road next to it is public though.
The owner was very accommodating for our private tour group for D-Day celebrations.
(Translated by Google) Unfortunately there is not much more to see except out of curiosity its history during the first hours of the landing on the morning of June 6, 1944. Great afternoon out. Nice and calm. Not much animal activity but well worth a visit. We paid extra for the bigger boat as it has a table perfect for a bit of lunch and a few drinks while cruising around the rivers near Carentan
Yesterday I was first with friends, today again alone with a camera. Was a very nice welcome. The electric boat tour was fun. I will come back.

We visited to view the knitted D-Day exhibit, which was even better than expected. Such a lot of work has gone into it, with amazing attention to detail. Well worth a visit if you're in the area - it's there until the end of August I believe.
Another one of Frances 🇫🇷 beautiful churchs.
Hard to really describe how incredible this piece of architectural excellence really is. From the stained glass windows to the details in every arch, what a treat to see with your own eyes. Even if you’re not catholic, you can find appreciation in what all this chapel has seen during the last century.
Amazing historical classic church. 12th century origins and we'll worth a visit even without the spectacular exhibition of knitted scenes depicting D-Day. Plenty of parking nearby.
A beautiful parish church, topped by a high steeple, typical of many of the churches in Normandy. The highlights for me were the huge stained glass windows. Well worth the visit, quiet and not crowded.
Really lovely cathedral, in my experience not many people visit it which actually results in a lovely quiet experience. They have little booklets that tell about it's history and all the different sections which really adds to your visit.
Absolutely stunning and incredible preservation!
