Nestled in the charming town of Carentan, Logis Auberge Normande is a delightful hotel that offers streamlined accommodations equipped with complimentary WiFi. Guests can indulge in exquisite seafood dishes at the hotel's elegant restaurant, which features a lovely patio for al fresco dining. This quaint establishment provides an inviting atmosphere perfect for travelers seeking both comfort and culinary delights during their stay in this picturesque region of France.
Amazing evening at the restaurant, the manager is awesome and made us feel welcome straight away. Great ambiance, we'll be back!! José is great!!

Food was ok. Sea bass was decent. Charges were messed up. Charged for water. Gave us extra cheese we didnt want and charged for it. Asked for take away and he threw it away. The bus boy guy didn't seem to understand anything. Cheese selection has bugs in it so the guy picked it out with his fingers. Middle Eastern not very sanitary.

WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND though we didn't stay here. We were stranded at the train station and were needing to go to Ste-Mere-Eglise. All the taxi numbers we called said they were closed (Ferme!) and hung up on us. In desperation we walked to the Logis Auberge to ask if we could stay for the night. The manager said no when we only wanted 1 night, and then sent us on a wild goose chase to an associate's hotel with our huge luggage ("turn right, then right again, it's on your left") but it was nowhere to be found. As I thanked him (before we trekked away), he gave me an odd, condescending smile.... probably because he got rid of the people clogging his hotel lobby. Rude man, and completely unforgivable behavior!
Rae C — Google review
We only went for food. It was a bit like Fawlty Towers but more expensive. Very chewy steak. Food generally not great. Service was very slow, or unhurried, depending on how you look at it. Staff friendly enough, but I really can't recommend this place. You'd be better off at Contoir des Morais by the dock.
Matt R — Google review
Very nice people. Our room was plain but nice, the bathroom was new & lovely. A few essentials missing, a bit annoying when you are only staying one night. We had high hopes for dinner in their fabulous dining room, but sadly, my food was overcooked and served on a cold plate. Why would a chef do that.
Ann O — Google review
First, the positive; the restaurant is in an attractive building with a courtyard, and the interior is equally pleasant. The food was ok but nothing special. However the service was a shambles. Having ordered five beers and a G&T we were told there was no beer and no gin. Having just cycled fifty miles that day you can imagine how welcome that was. The bottle of wine ordered from the menu was not available. We settled for cider until we were told there were no more chilled bottles. Each course took an age to come and when it did there was a further delay between the first and last of us to be served. The crowning glory was when our dessert was brought before the main course had been served. Overall a shame as it could have been so much better.
Adrian T — Google review
Very disappointed by the place : 1. The room was small, not enough equiped and the bathroom was not allowing any movement. A lot of work has to be done on this place. 2. The staff is awful. We waited for 10 min to get our keys for the room. The staff was even not satisfied and not aware of our booking. 3. No standard equipment in the hotel. We needed an iron but even one available at the reception is not an option. Very disappointing experience. I will definitely not come back.
Cédric E — Google review
Typical French reception from staff stood waiting to be seated 3 members of staff walking around with dishes cutlery not a word from anyone. By the time we were seated (about 5 minutes of standing there being ignored) there was a que of another 3 groups behind us. Service didn't really get much better had to ask several times for more drinks never asked if we wanted anything else when we were served food. Seemed each server had a job. 1 to give us cutlery 1 to bring us food 1 to take our order not very efficient and caused delays throughout the night. The food on the other hand was outstanding. Foie gras was amazing served with a nut ice cream which is still blowing my mind. Steak was great seafood nice and fresh good sized potion's. A little on the expensive side but well worth it for the quality of the food. Service has a lot to be desired but I wouldn't let it put me off returning.

The restaurant is popular among travelers and locals alike, making it a must-visit when exploring the area. With its inviting ambiance and diverse menu, Pizzeria des Arcades promises an enjoyable dining experience for anyone looking to savor great food in Carentan.
Great place for lunch with a cozy atmosphere at a great price. They do not speak English, but happily worked with us. We had 4 adults and a Labrador they allowed in the restaurant, which was a huge plus for us. Lasagna, omelette, and vegetarian pizza was all delicious!
Regina C — Google review
We had a great experience here today. We opted for pizzas for a change and both were superb (a Chevre and a Carentanaise) as were the desserts (a Dame Blanche and a café gourmand). This is the best food I've had in a good while. The waiting staff were efficient, courteous and friendly. Thank you very much for a lovely experience at your restaurant.
Jane P — Google review
We arrived just before 2pm but they fitted my party of 4 in and served us delicious pizzas washed down with some lovely Belgian beer. The owner was very chatty and gave my grandson a 101st Airborne badge. He was rightly very proud of his restaurant and that D-Day veterans have always eaten for free there.
Nick H — Google review
I was honestly surprised good solid pizzas. The waitresses don't understand English well but smiling and nodding goes a long way :)

On way back home to England, so called in again. Just as good as last time. Can definitely recommend the fish St Pierre and the Cafe Gourmand. Hope to dine here again.

It was packed at lunch time with locals out for food and workers popping in. The food was brilliant and they could not have been more helpful when eight English lads on a battlefield tour descended without booking.

The Diablo is a ground beef and pepperoni pizza thats set on fire at your table. Its really delicious. Has a slight bite to it especially if you add more spicy oil. The drinks were delicious and perfectly made. Can't knock the place. Authentic food with an English enough explanation in the menu 🤗

A good restaurant but for me nothing special. Friendly waitress waiting tables and attending barr services for the drinks.

(Translated by Google) Very friendly welcome. And thank you for the Toutou kit. Ours really enjoyed his kibble and we enjoyed the poop bags. Very clean city, trash cans and poop bag dispensers frequent. Easy to follow the green steps through the city, but with a few exceptions little interest other than walking. In any case, bravo for the organization. (Original) Accueil très sympathique. Et merci pour le kit Toutou. Le nôtre a bien apprécié ses croquettes et nous les sacs à crottes. A magnificent natural site suitable for hiking, it is also a historic memorial site of the Battle of Normandy during the Second World War. Following our visit to the Tourist Office, certain lesser-known points of tourist interest in the Cotentin Bay were highlighted by empathetic staff who know how to promote their region. (Translated by Google) The people at the office are very pleasant, unfortunately what a disappointment in the organization. Shuttles without hours on intermediate stops. Events canceled even though the office tells us the location. Camps not yet set up. Communication needs to be reviewed, especially for this type of event. Great disappointment to have spent my day looking for information and to arrive at the scene and see nothing. The traders do not seem any more aware of what is happening in the city. Organization to be reviewed especially given the number of people traveling. Really a shame because I'm sure it's all worth the trip.

Nestled along the stunning coastline of Normandy, the National Nature Reserve Beauguillot is a serene haven where land and sea beautifully intertwine. This coastal and wetland reserve not only boasts breathtaking views of the Bay of Veys but also serves as a sanctuary for diverse birdlife and playful seals. As you stroll along its main trail, you'll find well-placed observation shelters that invite you to immerse yourself in the tranquility of nature while watching marsh birds in their natural habitat.
What a beautiful nature research next to a historical Yuta beach. After our visit to a museum of the Yuta Beach, we walked the nature reserve going backwards that all the American soldiers did on D-Day. The marshlands and the long wide beach were very calm opposite to the day.

(Translated by Google) This was the highlight of our vacation in the Cotentin Peninsula! After a boat ride from the nearby Port Jourdan pier, we headed to the park's entrance. Admission is €5, free for students, and valid throughout the calendar year. This provides access to several walking trails, with plenty of observation points for spotting birds (very numerous, especially near the lake), squirrels, cows, nutria, and muskrats. The setting is simply magnificent. The route is clear and the information panels are accessible. We will return on a weekend to continue the walk and see other birds at other times of the year. We highly recommend it! (Original) C'est le coup de cœur de nos vacances dans le Cotentin! Après un tour en barque à l'embarcadère de Port Jourdan juste à côté, nous sommes allés à la maison du parc. Normandy Holiday Cottage at Les Gîtes Champêtres is a charming new house nestled between the beautiful beach of Colleville sur Mer and the Omaha Beach golf course. It's conveniently located near historic sites such as the American Cemetery, offering easy access to explore Normandy's rich history and local products. The cottage is well-equipped, spacious, and beautifully decorated, providing a comfortable home away from home experience.
Simply lovely... We had a great week, together with our kids. The cottage is very large, well equipped, clean, nicely located and the Nathans are really nice and hospitable. From the cottage most of the historic places (like the invasion beaches, German and US war-cemeteries, several museums, etc.) are within one hour of driving. It's very kid-friendly with several stair gates, a small bed and really a lot of toys available, but our kids mainly used the trampoline. Great base to have for a trip to western Normandy!

Just returned from a fantastic stay in Walnut Cottage - it was very spacious, clean, comfortable and so child friendly. Terry and Liliane were very hospitable and the cottage has plenty of homely touches to make life easier. Our two toddlers absolutely loved the secure garden, particularly the trampoline, and all the toys in Alladin's Cave - with all the playing and the fresh Normandy air, they both slept like logs every night!

Terry and Liliane are wondeful hosts. We were made to feel welcome straight away and were looked after throughout our stay. The 3 cottages are amazing and extremely spacious and comfortable. We particularly enjoyed using the vast outside ground which our young kids really enjoyed. The cottages are located in the centre of everything Normandy has got to offer. We will definately return. Terry and Liliane, thank you for your hospitality!!

Wonderful Gite, aka cottage, run by lovely host and hostess. Close to many Normandy historic sites including Mont Saint Michael, St Mere Egilise and Dinan. The Gite is beautifully decorated, spacious, homey and well equipped to meet all your home away from home needs. We were welcomed with flowers, wine and snacks. We'll never forget the hospitality and the trampoline/yard for the youngsters. Thank you Terry and Liliane for what felt like old friends welcoming us to their home.

We found this lovely spot by chance and it is somewhere that we will return to. The Nathans make the perfect hosts when you rent one of their luxurious four bedroomed sites. Enough to house the whole family they come fully equipped wither own garden areas, barbecue, swings etc etc. Within easy reach of Cherbourg, the D Day beaches and memorials, Bayeux an St Michaels Mount this really is a region to enjoy.
