Nice little bay, which you can use as a starting point to explore the nearby cliffs and caves. You can easily get here from Victoria by bus. pretty of restaurants along the bay and ice cream. Nice relaxed beach.
Very nice and not crowded beach. Amazing views, crystal clear water, places to jump off of, restaurants all over. Definitely worth coming back again
If travelling to Gozo, this is a must visit gem. Gorgeous small inlet with fantastic restaurants round the sides. Stunning setting with fresh seafood on offer at the restaurants
A sheltered cove at Xlendi beach with excellent swimming from easy access ladders from rocky outcrops. Beach is limited (size+ rockiness) for smaller children. Town retains its charm despite further high rise being built above.
OMG… if you like octopus get on a plane and come here! The octopus stew is the best I’ve ever had, incredible! The staff are lovely, the setting is fabulous. The wine is excellent! Highly recommended!!!!
Beach is very small but its lovely surroundings and particular nice views from the street up the hill. Parking areas were crowded on June Sunday but we found street parking up the hill.
Disappointed by this dirty spot at the end of the bay. I would not even call it a beach, it’s just 10 meter long “sandy” area. No space to actually relax and swim, but if you do you are entertaining guests of the restaurants who come there in smart casual attire. Be careful about the motorboats! They may not see you in water.
A very beautiful place. There is a small beach and several stairways leading down to the water. There are numerous bars, restaurants, and cafés in the vicinity. There is an excellent promenade towards the cape and a pleasant path to the cliff overlooking the bay. Boat rentals and other amenities are available.

Lovely week of diving and enjoying Xlendi and Gozo. We did Buoyancy course - well worth it and Erica was lovely and patient! Great team - thank you Oli, Barry and Tommy - who coped with us on Day 1. Office team friendly and efficient. Really nice week.
We spent the past few days diving with Gozo Dive - St Andrew's and the experience exceeded our expectations. From the first moment we felt warmly welcomed and it was clear how knowledgeable and passionate the team is. Tommy and Simon took us on some beautiful dives. What really stood out was the personal approach. They planned the dives to our level and interests, which made every dive unique: Shipwrecks, caves and beautiful topography. We also had a lot of fun with the DPVs and the equipment was in excellent condition. Overall, it was an amazing experience and I’ll be definitely back for more!
Completed OWD with Erica & follow up dive with Simon. Really positive experience with GozoDive overall. Instructors were clear, with good briefing prior to each session- learned loads with ease & look forward to learning more. Would definitely recommend this dive centre, well organised, confident in their focus on safety, and good range of dive locations in what I saw. Mark Busuttil and team in the office were always cheerful, happy to help with any dive related, advice, as well info on locality. Transfers to/from airport, snorkelling for others in our group, accommodation all arranged seamlessly. This was my second time with Gozo Dive & will no doubt be back again. All in all a very enjoyable positive experience- a breath of fresh air !
I can only say huge thanks to all at Gozo Dive. My confidence had been knocked on a dive in Italy and I was so worried!! The whole team were friendly, happy and so patient. Thanks to Barry and Ollie for sticking with this old gal and helping her love diving again. I will definitely be back. Thank you EVERYONE!!!
Just got back from another awesome weeks diving with Gozo Dive. I have been diving with Gozo Dive for over 20 years Mark and his team help every year organising our week and providing a fantastic service for all the levels within our dive group. For me the tech side is second to none the equipment is top notch and Jacques Bernard is an excellent tech instructor offering a wealth of knowledge and instruction. For anyone wanting tech diving either open circuit of CCR look no further than Gozo Dive
A truly unforgettable diving experience! I spent a full week diving with St-Andrews Dive Centre, and I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences of my life. Every single day, I was welcomed with warmth, enthusiasm, and professionalism. The instructors are not only extremely knowledgeable and experienced, but they also know every hidden corner of the underwater world like the back of their hand. Thanks to them, I got to explore dive sites that most tourists never get to see. Their passion for diving is contagious, and their personal approach made me feel safe, inspired, and completely at ease. I’m incredibly grateful for this amazing week – a truly fantastic dive trip that I will remember forever. Thank you, St-Andrews Dive Centre, for everything. You’ve exceeded all expectations!
First time diving! Completed our PADI Open Water here with Stephen Ruff. Firstly great facilities, equipment all great condition. Steve was amazing, patient, not phased by anything, we had an amazing 3 days with him - fully recommend both shop and instructor.
I did 4 fantastic recreational dives with them and I was very happy with everything: treat, equipment conditions, dive sites, price. Our instructor was Simon: he is very cool and friendly, and provides you with lots of information about the multiple dives available around Malta and also about fishes. Recommended!

Boats were great, service was great! We forgot our cool bag so they gave us one full of ice and some snorkels to enjoy the blue lagoon. We booked 10am - 4pm which was enough to visit the blue lagoon and travel around Gozo which is Beautiful. Plenty of time and great value. Book with confidence 👍
We had a fantastic time very professional company boat was very well maintained. We hired the boat for 6 hours from 13.00 and had a really good time very easy to use and they teach you all you need to now before you leave. We managed to go all the way around the island of Gozo and ended up at the blue lagoon late afternoon which was better because it was getting quieter. We stopped twice and dropped the anchor and had a swim and snorkel with the gear they provided at no extra cost. They also provided us with a cooler box with ice inside to keep your drinks cool so don’t forget to take drinks with you we also took a packed lunch with us. Swimming with the fish was a real treat an experience we won’t forget. The cost of the hire was very good value considering we had the boat for 6 hours and we used 30 euros of fuel which you pay for in cash when you get back. We will definitely be doing this again next time we’re there.
Rented a boat for a full day last week, staff were superb, ringing to move the day of booking to ensure we got best weather conditions for our trip. They offered a great safety briefing and included scuba gear and an ice box with the boat. The boats are great fun to drive and such an amazing way to see Comino and the Blue lagoon, their waters are unreal for a day of scuba, everyone in our party said it was their favourite day of our holiday, and reasonably priced too. Couldn't recommend more to do this experience through Xlendi Bay Watersports , 5 stars
Reasonably priced, lovely staff, very efficient service. We went for the full day 9-5 andit was definitely worth it. Although the blue lagoon was nice, there was better does around the island. We just found out was to busy for what it is. Better to travel around to spots that are more peaceful. Thankfully having your own busy already you to have this freedom. Great overall, would happily book again.
This company was recommended to us by our AirBnB host, and we are so glad we used them. We were handled with professionalism at every step of the booking process, the boat was perfectly clean and in great shape, and we had a great three-hour private tour around Gozo. Our driver/guide Carl was friendly, knowledgeable, and handled the boat beautifully.
Took out a self drive boat yesterday with a couple friends and had the best afternoon at a beautiful secluded bay. The boat was very comfortable and simple to drive, putting the anchor down was a challenge but overall the whole process was so much fun! I have booked again for another afternoon this week! Highly recommend Xlendi Water Sports! Very efficient and friendly boat hire!
We had a lovely morning boat ride from Xlendi. Better to go in the morning before the water gets too crowded with other boats. Our driver Eddy was very skilled. We loved going in and out of the arches and caves. Highly recommend!
It was very beautiful. We went to the christal lagoon, the blue lagoon and could stay and swim there as long as we wanted. The water there was cristal clear and you could see the bottom. Over all and looking back to it, it was GREAT!!! Our skipper Emmi was just great and explained everything we saw and shared a lot of experience and knowledge about Malta, Comino and Gozo.

Absolutely phenomenal experience with Utina Diving – I can’t recommend them enough! From the moment you step into their dive centre, you feel like you’re not just a customer, but truly part of the family. Marion and Aaron go above and beyond with their friendly, professional, and incredibly warm approach, creating an atmosphere that is both relaxed and deeply reassuring. What sets Utina apart is not just their unmatched diving expertise, but the heart and soul they pour into everything they do. Whether you’re gearing up for your first dive or you’re a seasoned diver, you’ll quickly realise they live and breathe diving – this isn’t just a job for them, it’s their second life. (You know – the one that starts when you leave your ordinary job behind and become a dive instructor 🙏). Every trip to the dive sites is not just about the underwater experience – it’s also an opportunity to learn fascinating local history, thanks to Aaron’s storytelling and Marion’s wealth of knowledge. You leave each day not only with salt in your hair and a smile on your face but with new facts, laughs, and unforgettable memories. If you’re looking for a dive centre with heart, soul, and serious skill, Utina Diving is the place. Thank you, Marion and Aaron, for making every dive an experience to remember. You’d truly split yourselves in two to make your clients happy – and that makes all the difference. 💙 Can’t wait to come back!
We had a great time wirh Utina Diving. The owner Marion and Aaron are super friendly and really care about their customers. Our guide Barry Ashwick was awesome. His underwater skills made us feel safe at all times. Our dives always lasted until the safety reserve. He also proved to be the perfect sightseeing guide. On the trips to the dive sites, he told us a lot about the island. It was a pleasure to be with him. I would recommend Utina and Barry to anyone!
I had a great week with the team at Utina, I passed both my Deep Diver and Enriched Air PADI courses. Aaron is brilliant instructor, he took the time to explain the complex issues around Nitrox - making me (and the other two students taking the same course) feel safe and confident. The dive shop has a nice easy going / friendly vibe - all the sites we visited were never more than 15 mins drive away - and the operation of getting to the dive site, kitting up and returning is very slick. Would recommend- I’ll be going back again to do my Wreck Diver course - the assurance the team gave me makes me want to return to continue my diving adventure.
Competent, professional and calm team with modern gear. I really enjoyed my two dives and as a beginner, I felt in safe and knowledgeable hands. The dives selected including the Inner Sea were just awesome.
I have just had the BEST 3 days of diving with Utina. Aaron was a top tier instructor for the AOW course. He was incredibly thorough and clear and made the diving experiences the best they could possibly be! I cannot sing his praises enough along with his lovely team of Marion and Kim. Such a wonderful, experienced and friendly team running an amazing dive shop. For anyone of any level looking to dive in Gozo, Utina should absolutely be your top choice!
It was my first time diving so I cannot compare it with other diving centers. I can only say it was an amazing experience. Aaron is a great host and instructor, way he welcomed us and shared his knowledge filled us with excitement and trust in both equipment and our instructors. Kim was our main guide and she did a great job walking us through basic dive skills and leading our dive. Big thanks to both!
We had a great experience at Utina Diving. The staff was extremely friendly and made us feel welcome from the beginning. The equipment was in excellent condition and very well maintained. There are max 4 divers per dive master. We would happily dive with them again and can highly recommend this place to others.
I did the Try Dive session with Utina Diving, and it was an amazing experience! The session introduces you to the underwater world. I had a private one-to-one session with Jan, and I also met Aaron. Both are very nice, friendly, and professional guys. Jan was my instructor and he was patient, competent, and gave me a strong feeling of confidence and safety. I was a bit nervous at first, but he kept me calm and relaxed, taking things slowly so I could adapt to the new world under water. In the end, we went down to about 3–4 meters – probably just right for a first dive. The equipment was high quality, everything felt very safe, and the prices are fair. What I really loved is that they combine professionalism with a warm, friendly atmosphere. I had an unforgettable first diving experience and would definitely come back. Highly recommended! 🌊🤿

Great spot to watch the sunset. It took us around 30 mins to walk here from Willows Penthouse following the walking route Google Maps suggested (all down hill with some very picturesque streets!). There were quite a few restaurants near by and there was a bus back up the hill every hour, so it was easy on the legs to get to the apartment again.
I did a midday walk here from across the little bridge and absolutely loved the nature and easy walk ability. The tower is a wonderful work of art and I'm glad it's still in excellent condition. This is one of the single most wondrous views you can have of Gozo as you will see the greenery, water, and cliffs in one.
Great short walk from Xlendi Bay. Sensible footwear recommended but for the daft and adventurous flip flops, sliders and Crocs on speed mode is doable.Spectacular views of the imposing cliffs opposite the tower and the salt pans can be accessed via a path next to the watch tower.
Great little Landmark for Xlendi, we didn't stay too long as it was 29°c in the middle of the day with absolutely no shade, but really cool nonetheless. It was obviously locked, so you couldn't go inside, but still a nice walk, if not a little steep and a beaten up pathway.
Xlendi Tower, located on the southwestern coast of Gozo, Malta, is a historic coastal watchtower with breathtaking views over Xlendi Bay and the open sea. Built in 1650 during the rule of the Order of Saint John, it is the oldest free-standing coastal watchtower on Gozo. The tower served as a defensive outpost, protecting the island from pirate attacks and unauthorized landings. Today, Xlendi Tower is a well-preserved landmark, offering visitors a glimpse into Malta’s rich maritime history while serving as an excellent vantage point for sightseeing, photography, and hiking. --- History and Architecture Xlendi Tower was constructed under Grand Master Jean Paul Lascaris Castellar’s rule as part of a broader network of coastal defenses. Unlike the larger Wignacourt Towers on Malta, Xlendi Tower is relatively small, built with thick limestone walls and a square layout to withstand attacks. Originally, it was armed with cannons and manned by a small garrison tasked with monitoring the coastline and deterring potential threats. The tower played an important role in Gozo’s defense system for centuries before becoming obsolete in the 19th century. Eventually, it fell into disrepair but was restored by Din l-Art Ħelwa, a Maltese heritage trust, ensuring its preservation. --- Visiting Experience Location & Accessibility Xlendi Tower is perched on a rocky promontory at the edge of Xlendi Bay, offering sweeping sea views. It is easily accessible by car or a short hike from Xlendi village. The path leading to the tower is well-defined, making it a manageable walk for most visitors. Scenic Views The tower provides a panoramic outlook over Xlendi Bay and the surrounding cliffs, making it a fantastic spot for photography. Sunset views from here are particularly stunning. Restoration & Interior Access While the exterior is well-maintained, the tower is sometimes closed to the public. However, on select open days or by special arrangement, visitors can explore the interior and rooftop, where historic artifacts and informational plaques provide insight into its history. Hiking & Outdoor Activities The area around Xlendi Tower is ideal for hiking. Trails along the cliffs offer incredible views, and adventurous visitors can continue along the coast to places like Sanap Cliffs or the Kantra Valley. --- Pros & Cons Pros: ✔️ Stunning coastal views ✔️ Rich historical significance ✔️ Great for photography and hiking ✔️ Well-preserved structure Cons: ❌ Limited opening hours for interior access ❌ No on-site facilities (no restrooms or cafes) ❌ Can be windy and exposed to the elements --- Conclusion Xlendi Tower is a must-visit site for history enthusiasts, nature lovers, and photographers. While its interior access is limited, the surrounding scenery and historical ambiance make it a rewarding stop. Whether you visit for the history or the views, Xlendi Tower stands as a symbol of Gozo’s resilient past and offers one of the best vantage points on the island.
Seriously amazing at sunset!! The landscape puts on a show. I think we got a doubly cool experience because it was a really windy evening and the waves were crashing. Magic!
It is a gorgeous place. Here you can spend a very beautiful time alone or with you want climbing or simply walking along the amazing bay here. You can take fantastic photos, specially at sunset time. Then, you can enjoy a fantastic time in the afternoon, when the wind is blowing on the coast where you can have a very restoring nap laying on the flat rocks!
Nice walk across the stone bridge over the valley to the tower, then while there, walk along the cliffs for some amazing views!
