A very beautiful and sacred shrine it is very old and huge. You will feel the purity and calmness when you enter the shrine. Highly recommend to visit. There are some popular restaurants nearby and they have food stalls around the parking area. The parking is big and they have comfort room.
Very nice shrine. The prettiest part with a small pond is hidden in the back, at the right side of the main building.
Beautiful trees, fresh air. It is a very popular shrine to come for best wishes for New Year. Usually very crowded from 11AM, the traffic jam could be as long as 2 km, so my recommendation is to go there early in the morning before 10AM to not only enjoy fresh air but also the ancient, fuzzy smog there. Usually there is snow during New Year, and the big fire pit in the center of entrance is a specular point.
Seemed rather popular for an out of the way temple, not sure why.
Clearly a potent power spot. The wind passing through the cedars makes your skin tingle. Famous for dispensing extremely harsh fortunes “omikuji” and it didn’t disappoint: Some highlights: Lose your court case At work will be tricked and harassed Baby won’t be born Get sick Marriage is done for Accident in your future No matter how much you study, no chance of success Whichever direction you walk, it will be wrong one Highly recommended for masochists. The tree where you tie your bad fortunes was sagging under the weight of all that bad portent 😆
Very beautiful, and quite tranquil. I really liked just being there. The silent walk around was great on the senses.
Beautiful and peaceful shrine to say a few prayers. Some bear signs put up so watch out!
This is one of the most famous shrine in this area. During the new year, we will see many people visit this shrine.

(Translated by Google) Japan's famous Mt. Spirit Mountain is also a Hakusan National Park, providing a good place for those who love mountain climbing. There are well-marked trails along the road. After parking your car at Beidangchuhe, you can walk slowly to Murodo, which takes about 4-5 hours. Murodo provides accommodation and meals, allowing climbers to properly arrange their itinerary. It is also convenient to stay an extra night and climb to the top the next day. It is a highly recommended tourist attraction. After climbing to the top, you will have a good outlook, and you can also enjoy the beautiful scenery of the surrounding mountains and lakes. It takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to climb to the top from Murodo, plus an easy lake tour back to Murodo.
Cool hike for English visitors because it was hard to find information about this: Book a mountain hut because it will be a 2 dau trek, you wont be able to get back the same day. Call murudo mountain lodge for a reservation, you have to reserve. Costs 13000yen with dinner and breakfast. If you are going from Kanazawa, take the bus 6am from Kanazawa west exit bus to Ichinose. You will see japanese hikers lined up with backpacks at the bus. It costs 2190yen and takes around 2 hours. From Ichinose take a bus to Beottodai. Costs 1000yen. Fill up the mountain up form and go hike. To come back you go the same way the bus departs 12:30 and 13:30 to kanazawa. Hope it is helpful!
(Translated by Google) Visited on 24.8.23. It is one of Japan's three most sacred mountains, and there is an inner shrine in Murodo, and many people watch the sunrise from the mountaintop. Although it was a weekday, there were quite a few climbers. Because of the location, people gather from all over the country. Betto Deai - Jinnosuke Shelter - Junction - Echo Line - Murodo - Summit, descending via Kuroboko Rock. Kanko Shindo is a more classic route, and Sabo Shindo is a new road, but most people climb from there. It is well maintained, has toilets, and being able to draw water from Mt. Hakusan is very satisfying. It takes about 3 to 6 hours to climb up and 3 to 5 hours to descend. It is easy to climb, but there is an altitude difference of 1500m, and from the middle (from Jinnosuke hut) the slope rises and becomes quite difficult. There are limited places to eat, so it's a good idea to bring plenty of food. The first half is half forested and there isn't much of a view. There are no rocky areas until near the summit. The view from the top of the mountain is nice. The best part was the alpine plants from Kurobokoiwa to Jinnosuke Hut. The sight of the flowers blooming all over the place will be etched in your mind. There are flower gardens in various places, multiple mountain peaks, and you can even visit ponds. It would be a 4 star if there were no alpine plants, but it would be a 5 star because there are many routes and you can enjoy a variety of things. The climb up was quite difficult and the descent was long, so I wanted something sweet. Midagahara from the Echo Line was a pleasant place with few people, so I was one with nature, took a nap, and felt comfortable with the breeze. This means that you will have to climb up here on your way back, so if you are not confident in your physical strength, you should be prepared for this, but I managed to get there even though I was with my almost 3-year-old child. What an amazing ski resort!! Highly recommended!!
As a naive, the ski area has beginner course and flat slope, quite easy to practice. Quite disappointed as the magic carpet has been closed.
my kids and I had a great time. instructors for 4 was about 11k yen for an hr. wallet friendly. but the rental for the equipment cost abt 16k yen! rental till the place close. the instructors can speak some what English. but commucated via hand signs and body language. good place for beginners
We visited the area recently on the weekend. The ski area has an excellent and wide beginner slope and support facilities, including a conveyor belt and chairlifts (no rope tow ski lift, an archenemy of snowboarders). Staffs are helpful, ensuring the best of safety for all, and communicating sufficiently good English. The dining hall has meal options that you can expect from any cafeteria with a warm and pleasant dining hall. It has good road access even with a Kei car. Parking lots are convenient and abundant. Public transportations are also available, but they are limited schedules (once a day on weekends, holidays) or in-advanced reservations. Overall, it is a good ski area worth visiting if you are in the area.
Nice place to enjoy snow. Only 1000 yen to ride the gondola to go to the uphill area.
Very nice slopes for all skill levels and especially gentle for newcommers. Reasonable rental gears fee. Resturant with hugh windows facing directly into the mountains. So even if you are not playing, you still can see all your friends actions (and falls) from there. Nice view! For 600 yen, you can use the belt up to the long practicing/easy area with open wide and gentle slope. Highly recommended! Once you get a hang of it, there are number of ski lifts and gondola to various challenge trails. We shall come back again :)
My first time Ski lesson here is wonderful
Good day of learning ski for the very first time . With a very good teaching techniques. The people around are very nice and helpful. The place is easy to reach. Easily found a place for renting the equipments for ski . We will certainly come back in this place .

(Translated by Google) I visited around 2:00 PM on a weekday in July 2025 after visiting the Dinosaur Museum. Parking is free. Please be careful as the road leading up the slope from the national highway to the entrance is narrow. Apparently, the stones for the fossil discovery experience are collapsed stones from the Kuwajima Fossil Wall (a natural monument) on the opposite bank, and were brought there with special permission. The fossil excavation experience at Katsuyama Dinosaur Museum requires advance reservations, and I thought this might be a better option in case of rain, so I decided to go with this fossil discovery experience, which has received positive reviews. [Discount Set Fee (Admission + Fossil Discovery Plaza)] Adults: ¥850 (tax included) Children: ¥400 (tax included) We visited as a family of four, but opted for the fossil discovery experience for just the children. The fossil excavation experience is available for elementary school students and above. (Children in grades 1-3 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.) A discount set fee (admission + fossil discovery plaza) is available. Since you'll be breaking rocks with a hammer, wear safety glasses and gloves. Be careful as rocks will fly when you break them! *For safety reasons, young children will be viewing from the outside of the plaza. It was midday in the summer... so hot! 30 minutes was enough to find everything. By the way, most of the fossils were apparently plants and shellfish. They provided covered tents, spot coolers, and mist fans, but we were sweating just looking in the shade. I'm grateful that the staff member explained everything to us so carefully. There were only two other parents and their children there, and our family of four, so the male staff member kindly called out to us and asked our daughters, "Is this a fossil?" and asked them to look at the broken rocks. He first told us the characteristics of the rocks that contained fossils, so we were able to find them quite quickly. My two daughters found around 10 between them. We were able to choose one of the fossils to take home as a souvenir, so it became a fond memory. After we got home, we lined a figure case we bought at the 100 yen shop with cotton to display the fossils. We had planned to go the day before, but due to bad weather, we changed our plans at the last minute. Fortunately, the day turned out to be a beautiful sunny day. Fukube Falls is the highlight of the White Road. The 86-meter waterfall is a spectacular sight. The autumn leaves were at their peak, which was great. However, due to heavy snowfall the day before, the road was closed beyond Fukube Falls. As a result, the toll, which normally costs 1,700 yen, was reduced to 1,000 yen. While it's technically a national highway, it's carved through the mountains, so the road is narrow and winding. There were also plenty of snowshoes. Despite this, it was a pleasant drive. Since we left early, it wasn't too crowded. However, on the way back, there was a long line of cars at the toll booth. It's likely to be very crowded. If you're driving by, I would recommend checking out these ruins. As the name suggests, there is not much left of the castle, but the view of the area is amazing and the location is historical.
Very quite place and the view from the top is great. There was nothing left just the main gate but the site is well organized all the history of the place are all written in curved stones. No need to walk long because the car can reach up the top of the main entrance. If you are driving nearby a quick stop is worth it.

(Translated by Google) It has been designated a national historic site, along with the adjacent ruins of Nimagari Castle. While it was once well-maintained, it has fallen into disrepair with the passage of time. When I visited in July 2025, the stone wall to the right of the Masugata Gate and part of the outer edge of the earthen ramparts in the main citadel had collapsed, and both were covered with blue tarps. The restored buildings are also in considerable damage, and the wooden watchtower, which was the main attraction, was removed in 2024, and if things continue as they are, it looks like the other buildings will soon follow. The outer citadel is supposed to be behind a stone monument and information board, about a 10-minute walk up the hill from the entrance, but it's so overgrown with grass that there isn't even a clear path. The preservation state of the baileys is generally not bad, and with proper maintenance it would be much more impressive, so it's a real shame. Torigoe Castle was the last stronghold of the Kaga Ikko Ikki, and in 1580, it was attacked and captured by Shibata Katsuie, a subordinate of Oda Nobunaga. Kennyo, who had resisted fiercely from the head temple, Ishiyama Honganji, made peace with Nobunaga and retreated to Kyoto. The Hakusanroku Monto sect continued to resist, isolated and unaided, but was unable to turn the tide of the war, and in 1581, they were completely suppressed by Sakuma Morimasa. Non-Ikko sect temples and shrines that had been in danger of extinction due to the rampant Ikko Ikki resurrected under the protection of the new lord, the Maeda clan. Both Natadera Temple and Hakusan Hime Shrine were restored by the Maeda clan, and both are ancient temples and shrines that existed long before the founding of the Ikko sect (Jodo Shinshu). Just as Ernst Bloch praised Thomas Müntzer, the spiritual pillar of the German Peasants' War, there are Marxist fanatics in Japan who praise the Kaga Ikko Ikki, who ruled a "country owned by peasants." However, if you look closely at what they did, they're not much different from the Pioneers, the Red Guards, or the Khmer Rouge. It's funny how they're all in the same boat as the Marxist fanatics. To be honest, I can't really empathize with the Ikko Ikki, but it would be enjoyable (if it were just a little more well-maintained) as one of the fiercest battlefields of the Sengoku period.

The ban on climbing the castle due to the earthquake had been lifted, and I arrived safely at the parking lot. Wow, this has a great mountain castle feel. I have a group visiting. Amid the mounds of earth, the stone walls and the restored turret gate are fascinating. It's a shame that they've collapsed a little, perhaps due to the earthquake? It appears that a lot of research has been done on the remains, and there are signs in the main citadel and each bailey, showing the remains of pillars and other things, which is a relief. The views are great, too. It's said that the Suzuki clan of Kishu Saiga led a resistance against the Oda clan, and when I learned about the details of their actions, I sighed in amazement. There is a museum at a nearby roadside station, which regularly hosts special exhibitions in addition to displaying excavated items. Now, let's head to Kanazawa. Torigoe Castle is built on the top of Shiroyama Mountain, which is 312 meters above sea level, and is about 130 meters above sea level from the base of the mountain. A road runs up to the main castle, and it can be driven up by car, but due to the effects of heavy rain disasters, the road was closed for a long time. Restoration was completed in June 2025, and the road was opened. Torigoe Castle is not a very large castle, but it gives the impression of being a compact, practical castle. Several remains have been restored with wood, and the castle is well maintained overall. There are also many explanatory boards for the remains. Although the damage from the heavy rain disaster remains, such as the collapse of the stone wall of the Masugata Gate and the removal of the Honmaru Gate, it is a castle worth visiting among the mountain castles of the Sengoku period. Torigoe Castle was the castle of Suzuki Dewa-no-kami, the leader of the Hakusanrokumon sect of the Ikko Ikki sect. The Suzuki clan put up a fierce resistance against Oda Nobunaga's invasion of Kaga, but in 1580, the castle fell along with its subsidiary castle, Nimagari Castle, and the Suzuki clan was wiped out. The Ikko Ikki continued to resist after that, and managed to recapture Torigoe Castle at one point, but were completely suppressed in 1582. For this reason, Torigoe Castle is said to be the last stronghold of the Ikko Ikki. Wide ski resort. There is area for beginners where they can practice. Along with that they have training facility so that one can learn skiing from the trainer. The wear and snowboarding instruments founds there so we don’t need to worry about it. You have to buy lift ticket.
My husband and I have stayed in a hotel near this ski area for two nights. Hotel staff and people are super friendly, but I definitely not recommend the ski area for naives and beginners. Staff in rental shop are nice and helpful, gear and equipment are better than another same brand ski area - SAM. I practiced snowboarding while kids were playing sledges, there are no designated areas to practice or play. I saw a woman was clashed and injured when kids played sledges in the afternoon . Rescue was efficient. There is no magic carpet, the so-call “beginner course” for beginners is not easy, you need to ride on zigzag slopes among trees and brushes. I will not visit this ski area again until my skill have achieved an advanced level. We bought lift tickets from hotel, the price is cheaper than buy in ticketing counters. I sincerely grateful for the super nice staff to remove snow that cover my rental car and offered glaces to me and my husband. Thanks!
Good place for skiing. There is an area for beginner practice. There are ski classes. There are also nearby noodles restaurants. You can travel to this ski area bus from A bus stop very close to Tsurugi station.
