Garden
Nature & Parks
Parks
Kenroku-en is one of Japan's most celebrated landscaped gardens, known as one of the country's 'Three Famous Gardens.' The name refers to the six classical elements of an ideal garden, and it offers a seamless transition through sculpted pine trees, stone lanterns, and ponds. Originally part of a castle's grounds, this garden has developed over several hundred years and is designed to be beautiful in every season.
Righteously called one of the most beautiful gardens in Japan. Went there in September. It has some nice places for something to eat and drink. One place offers tea ceremony 3x daily for 5500 yen. Best time to come early morning or late evening to avoid the crowds. They offer an early entry from 05.00 to 07.00 during the summer months for an reduced entry ( you have to leave by 07.00) if you really want it quiet. Standard entrance fee is a meager 300 yen! Unbelievable good value for what you get. And there are lots of benches (!!!) were you can sit and let the scenery impress you.
C B — Google review
I will not deny that this large garden is very beautiful- however, the set up of about 3/4th of the area is like being at an art museum. The gardens are a display you can look at- not walk through. The large areas of untrafficed landscape do allow for perfect upkeep, but I love to be able to stroll through gardens and across bridges more than just looking out onto scenery. There are areas like that here! Just not as much as is for view as opposed to for perusing. Lots of place to grab a little something to eat or snack on the edges of the gardens. Nice and clean restrooms, also some wildlife.

Oasis of tranquility. Very beautiful and big Japanese garden park. But keep in mind, it's only really pleasant in the morning ours (you can visit the park for a short time slot even before opening hours for free, theres two gates open prior to the usual opening hours), during daytime it's packed and you'll find yourself being pushed around by a multitude of famous Instagrammers. Nevertheless it's also at that time a must have seen.

This garden is famous and rightly so. It is gorgeous and very well maintained. Strolling along its paths you actually feel serene and it made me jealous 🤣 of the people who live in Kanazawa and can enjoy this beautiful place all the time. How delightful! I would recommend arriving right as the place opens (when I went it was at 8 am, even though it was showing 7 am when I had searched for it online). The first hour was particularly wonderful, as there weren't as many people. This is a 10 out of 10. I would recommend making this a double visit and going to the castle park next door. It makes for a wonderful morning!
Aracruz1988 — Google review
Busy on a Saturday but worth a visit. We walked from one side to the other. Tried to stop at the tea house before we left at around 330pm but no luck. It looked like you had to reserve a spot on the wait-list outside. Definitely worth a visit to the park for a slow stroll
Clare M — Google review
In over 20 years living in Japan, this was my first time in Kanazawa — and I discovered the most beautiful park I’ve ever seen. Kenroku-en is peaceful and timeless, with ponds, stone lanterns, old pines, and seasonal flowers. Every season brings its own charm, making it a place you should not miss when visiting Kanazawa.
Alfonso S — Google review
You have to buy a ticket (320 yens for an adult) at the machines by the entrance with touch screens (English available). The garden is beautiful, but I wouldn’t consider it spectacular. It’s nice and it should be visited if you’re at Kanazawa and near the castle. I believe it could be even prettier had it a running water course (everything looked very dry) and some flowers. Also, at some points, people gathered and queued to take photos, and you would think something amazing must be ahead of you, only to find that it’s a lake without anything particular to justify queuing for pictures 🤷🏻 Ironically, some parts of the garden, which offer more shade and lush greenery, are much emptier and are much more enjoyable, in my opinion. Saw various toilets but haven’t tried any, and there are some places where you can eat (namely around the lake), but I preferred the places outside the garden.
André M — Google review
Overrated. Too many people. Not a relaxing space, especially in a country with so many relaxing peaceful spaces. You'll hear leaf blowers rakes and nonstop crunching of gravel here, not wildlife. Decent photo opportunities. Best to skip or try to go at a less busy time I suppose.

Art museum
The 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa is a popular art museum in Japan known for its modern and large-scale displays of Japanese and international art. The circular glass-walled building was designed without a main entrance to encourage visitors to approach from different directions, mirroring the method recommended for viewing the art inside. The museum features both traveling exhibitions and permanent installations, such as Leandro Elrich's Swimming Pool and the Colour Activity House.
Amazing museum. The building is spectacular and can alone justify a visit. Exhibitions will of course vary but the swimming pool is really cool. Advance booking (free) via museum website is needed to visit the swimming pool. There is a discount if you buy tickets in advance. The public area is local arts and craft. Museum shop is smaller than many other museums.
Jacob F — Google review
I visited when the main and special exhibition - as a student this only cost ¥800 which is quite affordable for an art gallery! I found the exhibitions engaging and I appreciated the information on each artist featured. As it was raining, the swimming pool was unfortunately closed. One thing I must note is that the layout of the museum is quite confusing - there isn’t a set route and I found it difficult to figure out how to access some areas, even when using the map. I’m sure there are some sections I may have missed. But overall, I really enjoyed the art, especially those featuring local artists of Japan!
Isabelle M — Google review
The world renowned pool piece! Extra modern architecture design! Intriguing exhibitions! Extremely close to downtown! What other can you ask for? The pool piece itself needs a few hours of waiting, but we managed to get back after went back to hotel for some rest.

The 21st Century Museum is a great public space to enjoy, even without going into the paid exhibitions. There are plenty of free areas to explore and lots of good photo spots. My kids especially loved the green open space around the museum where they could run and play. Inside, there are art workshops for children, and the staff are very friendly and helpful with the handmade activities. It makes the place welcoming for families. The famous swimming pool artwork is currently closed until September 19, so plan accordingly if you want to see it. Still, the museum and its surroundings are worth visiting for both art and relaxation.
Thwe A — Google review
This is a good museum. It has some interesting spaces and I saw a very good collection of photographs. It was also very lively. It was an enjoyable way to spend some time in Kanazawa, and it is close enough to the nearby gardens that it is possible to combine it into a nice day with both outdoor and indoor activities.
Aracruz1988 — Google review
It was a little confusing to buy tickets for. We ended up with tickets to a display the had on and not to the museum itself. The displays out side are good and loved the pool but if you want a dip[ go underneath] you have to reserve in advance.
David K — Google review
I visited the museum at night. The experience where you can enter the pool was already fully booked, but the nighttime illumination was beautiful. The museum is open until 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Kenrokuen Garden and Korinbo are nearby, making the area lively and pleasant to walk around.
EISUKE I — Google review
Very cool, only criticism is I wish it was bigger, for the price it's a little steep. We didn't need tickets in advance, the only thing we waited for was the pool exhibit. There were so many instructions it became almost confusing.

Kanazawa Castle Park is a reconstructed 16th-century castle that once served as the hereditary residence of the Maeda family before the 'Meiji Restoration.' The park, located in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture, features extensive surrounding gardens and is adjacent to Kenliu Garden. Visitors can explore historical structures like Ishikawa Gate and enjoy tours of the area. The park is particularly popular during cherry blossom season when the night cherry blossoms create a stunning display.
An absolutely stunning castle complex, beautifully restored after the original structure was tragically destroyed by fire. The reconstruction has been done with incredible attention to historical detail, allowing visitors to experience the grandeur of traditional Japanese architecture in a very authentic way. The grounds are expansive and well-maintained, offering plenty of space to explore and take in the views. Adjacent to the castle is a traditional Japanese garden, which is considered one of the most beautiful in the country. With its seasonal flowers, serene ponds, and meticulously landscaped paths, it’s a peaceful retreat and a highlight in its own right. A must-visit for history lovers, architecture enthusiasts, and anyone looking to experience a deeper side of Japan’s cultural heritage.
Yasmin G — Google review
Pretty good. The castle internally itself isn’t something you want to be hyped about. But the outer grounds and some of the surrounding gardens was beautiful. I still found the internals of the castle to be better than Osaka castle, purely because it was less cramped with people. The grounds and the surrounding gardens is something to be in aw of.
W T — Google review
Kanazawa Castle has a spacious interior area, beautifully designed like a Japanese garden. The atmosphere is calm and perfect for relaxing or even going for a jog. It’s not crowded and the grounds are very clean. A big bonus is that it’s right next to Kenroku-en Garden—you can walk between the two easily. The castle itself has been nicely renovated and looks fresh and well-maintained. If you’re visiting Kanazawa, it’s definitely worth a stop.
Busher P — Google review
What a lovely park, very clean and tidy. Good to have a wander round, even if you don't want to actually enter the castle itself. Lots of toilets, as is usual for Japan. It's absolutely lovely to see public toilets, open, clean and not vandalised. If you're in the area, have a wander through the park, it's very nice.

This is an interesting place to visit. Mixture of original and reconstructed buildings On a large site great to walk around and explore. Impressive rebuild of the castle buildings. The detailed craftsmanship is amazing. Other buildings are in process of being rebuild. A good 1-2 hours to get around the site. Not too busy either. Nice park and gardens. Other attractions close by too
Shaun V — Google review
This was a very nice and and peaceful place. The crowds were not too bad but it was a week day in autumn. The castle part was undergoing reconstruction efforts so I couldn’t explore a lot however there was still parts to explore and learn. The gardens though were immaculate, the trees were just beautiful. There’s tons of great places for cute photos here too. There’s pods and bridges just very serene and worth the time to visit on a casual stroll. I would say if you are less interested in nature you may not enjoy this place. It’s not full of flowers or other vibrant things. Instead the architecture around the walk ways and the shape of the trees along with the ponds makes it a wonderful and relaxing place.
Justin C — Google review
The castle is being rebuilt and most of the surrounding structures are also recent. The big scaffolding isn’t pretty, so your photos won’t turn out great, but it’s understandable. However, if you have already visited other castles in Japan, like in Osaka, Kyoto or Himeji, you’ve already seen plenty. Here, the main attraction are the outdoors and the gardens. Today it was sunny and it was beautiful. Some parts can become crowded, but it’s not too hard to find a quiet place for yourself, to relax and enjoy the surroundings. If you follow Google Maps directions on foot, it can be misleading, I had to cross a wooden structure/bridge over the street to get to the castle from where I was coming from (the train station).

Great park with a beautiful castle. Really recommend. Not recommended for elderly due to sloped areas and can be very slippery at times

Higashi Chaya District, also known as The Eastern Teahouse District, is a well-preserved traditional neighborhood in Kanazawa. It features beautifully maintained teahouses and geisha houses that were once frequented by feudal lords and high-ranking officials during the Edo period. Some of these historic buildings have been transformed into restaurants and shops selling local goods, while others remain intact as teahouses for visitors to enjoy.
The main street is a bit touristy but the neighbourhood is quite lovely and colourful, I much preferred coming here than to Nagamachi Samurai District. You’ll see many people wearing kimono (mostly for picture taking), and it’s quite fun. Many shops and cafés, and there’s one place that offers workshops about gold leafing but you have to book that in advance. A visit here, with stops to take some pictures, will take 20-30 minutes if you don’t stop to eat/drink. Not much to see if you’re walking from the castle or train station on your way, though.
André M — Google review
The district is full of old tradition tea houses and is well known for its gold leaf ice cream. It was lovely to spend a couple hours walking around exploring the local stores. There is a tourist information centre which provides free information, bathrooms, water and a place to rest. It gets pretty busy (went in January) but it’s still enjoyable.
ROS8215 — Google review
Historic tea house district with charming old streets and well-preserved buildings. Many tea houses here offer dessert and the popular gold leaf ice cream. The area is quite big and the streets are photogenic, perfect for a slow stroll. I visited on a Wednesday, and I am not sure if it is a bad day to visit Kanazawa, but some of the shops were not open. I should have spent more time here and explored the area across the river too. Feels like there is more to see if you take your time.
Leh P — Google review
This is an old Samurai district in Kanazawa! The structures are idyllic of the time period and are best when visited when no one is on the streets (best pictures!). Not much was open when we were walking around during sunset, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t places to eat. Truly a cool place to visit!
Indigo G — Google review
This place was so nice! It was cute and charming and it even smelled good (it smelled like old wood). It has many shops and restaurants, and you can actually go inside some of the buildings to see how the interior of a home in the area used to be and learn a bit about the local history. It is very popular with tourists, but even with the crowds, it is still very much worth it.
Aracruz1988 — Google review
Great geisha town. Pretty chilled. Went there twice. Once late and once in the afternoon. When it was late and the sun was going down, it was really nice hut shops were closed. But great for photos then if you like posing. If not, and you like matcha tea, then come during the day. I had match at the central part and it was really good. The plain matcha was strong and smooth.
W T — Google review
Good for sight seeing around Kanazawa. But don't expect any attractions, only several shops & restaurant open. Recommend to use bus stop to get here Perfect to stroll around 15 mins and done.
Fandi S — Google review
We took a quick stroll through the Geisha district mid week in the early evening. Picturesque streets and not too crowded. We encountered multiple groups of tourists dressed in Geisha attire which was interesting. We tried the gold leaf ice cream which is a must if you’re in the area.

Sushi restaurant
Sushi Kibatani is a restaurant founded by Chef Mitsuhiro Kibatani, who aims to showcase the unique sushi style of the Hokuriku region in northwestern Japan. Hailing from Toyama, he takes pride in using high-quality local seafood to create stunning culinary experiences for his guests. Having honed his skills at Ginza's 'Sushi Aoki,' Chef Kibatani opened this up-and-coming sushi spot in 2016.
The chef is very friendly and humorous. Of course, the food is also top-notch, with very fresh ingredients. My friends still speak highly of this restaurant until now.
Yi J — Google review
A man of few words, chef Kibatani simply focuses on producing excellent food at his 8-seater, using mostly locally caught Kanazawa seafood. The firmness of the seafood highlights the freshness and in many cases, he recommends a dash of only salt, light wasabi and a drop of lime. Ate almost everything except the monkfish liver. 20 bite-sized morsels of sheer gastronomical pleasure including 9 sushi pieces, some of which are featured. Don't underestimate the special sauce concoctions, especially the sea cucumber sauce.

Wonderful omakase experience in one of the best if not the best city for sushi in Japan. All the fishes are fresh even when you dine on the last slot, very delicious, generous cut size, great service, and atmosphere. The chef, Mitsuhiro Kibatani, have two expressions, he looked serious and attentive when preparing the sushi, and he looked cheerful when speaking to the customers! There's a total of 21 sushi. You'll be asked if you can't eat certain things/allergy. The sushi is on first floor behind the sliding door, the second floor is a bar.
Afianto R — Google review
28000 yen for the omakase course. Booked through my hotel with no issues. It's the sliding door right by the entrance, on the right is a staircase that goes to a bar not the restaurant. There's only 8 seats. Didn't have to say my name or confirm anything and was directed to my seat right away. The chef looks very serious while preparing, but has a great friendly smile when explaining the dish. The chef and the assistant chef explained the dishes well in English. Highlights were the oyster miso soup, dish with the pink sauce, and the shrimp nigiri. The miso soup was incredible. There was a small piece of shell left in the crab and rice dish, but I wasn't bothered too much by it. Total was 21 dishes (ate too fast and forgot to take pictures of 2 of them) and around 100 minutes. I think the seatings when the sun is still out they open the garden up to let the light and air in. Overall service was excellent all around.
Jason L — Google review
Great Omakase in Kanazawa. Easy to book online and fairly priced. The service was attentive and courteous, we loved the starter plates, the sushi was was excellent and the crab was a nice surprise. We were served some excellent sake throughout the course and an crisp beer at the end ensured a memorable night.
Artur R — Google review
Sushi Kibatani in Kanazawa offers a truly memorable dining experience that combines exquisite flavors with a cozy atmosphere. The freshness of their ingredients is undeniable; each piece of sushi melts in your mouth with a burst of oceanic flavors. The omakase menu is a culinary journey through the finest selections, showcasing the chef's creativity and expertise. However, it's essential to mention that this level of excellence comes at a price. Sushi Kibatani is undeniably pricey, making it more suitable for special occasions or those willing to splurge on top-notch sushi. The restaurant's ambiance adds to the overall experience, with a traditional yet modern feel. The intimate setting and attentive service create a comfortable space for enjoying the artistry of sushi preparation.

Spanish restaurant
Respiracion is a Spanish restaurant in Kanazawa, known for its superb paella and cultural fusion. The chef's training in Barcelona brings an authentic taste of Spain to the heart of Japan. The restaurant offers a 17000 yen per person course with wine by the glass for 1800 yen, providing great value. Diners can expect playful dishes and a delightful culinary experience that leaves them satisfied with numerous courses.
No exaggeration, they are doing better than a 3-star Michelin restaurant in Spain that I have been to. For example, the pairing between ingredients, the uniqueness of ingredients, visual designs, service, etc. Some Michelin star restaurants are doing it perfunctorily, but Respiracion is working hard to deliver a great experience by making a series of good choices. I would say this is one of my most memorable meals.

Respiracion being restaurant in the world?! You would agree if you care about: 👍Creativity in cuisine 💪Friendship between chefs, childhood friends and ownerships 🥒Local top notch fresh ingredient ❤️World class service (thank you Yoda San!) 🥂Amazing sommelier (Thank you Toshi San, and again, you are right that I should follow your recommendations to order 九頭龍 貴醸酒 to match our desert 😜) 😁Master in dining lighting (please see the videos!) 😘 Foods are so delicious that my first bites of every dish gave me goosebumps (and archive into my DNA) 😏 Low profile publicity (for true foodies who wants to enjoy food instead of showing off) 👌Reasonable pricing so people can actually enjoy! ☺️ Relaxing Japandi interior design so you can enjoy the cuisine while feel the quality Anyways, Respiracion is just simply the best! To all chefs, foodies and who are in Kanazawa, you must come to experience it yourself!

We had dinner at Respiración Kanazawa and it was honestly incredible. Every dish was a surprise, Japanese flavors with a Spanish twist, delicate and beautifully balanced, like little pieces of art on the plate. The dessert was unforgettable, a fig creation that completely blew us away – something we’ve truly never tasted before. But what made the evening even more special was the service. The staff were so warm, attentive, and genuinely kind that we couldn’t help but fall in love with them. It felt personal, human, and added so much to the experience. This place is a gem – creative food, amazing people, and an atmosphere that stays with you long after you leave.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. The atmosphere is beautiful, natural, and cozy. I also loved the music, a mix of lofi/hip-hop. The food was perfect in my opinion. Flavorful, vibrant, balanced and the use of local ingredients makes it so special. Highly recommend the wine pairing. The best part of all was the service. My Japanese was limited but the staff was able to accommodate and provided excellent descriptions of the food for us in English. Everyone was so kind and friendly. The staff really went above and beyond to make our night special. I will never forget this meal and the people we met. Thank you for an unforgettable night! 🙏❤️

Great experience from the food to the service and the ambiance. The host was very informative and friendly with each course plus the inspiration for the dish. The most memorable dishes was the bear ragu and venison. Both these dishes really surprised me in terms of taste and flavours. I would strongly recommend trying this place in Kanazawa if you have the chance. Amazing place for a date or special occasion

Otome Sushi, located in Kanazawa, is a renowned sushi spot offering unique and rare items at reasonable prices. The head chef meticulously selects the highest quality toppings that are perfectly paired with sun-dried rice from the Noto Peninsula. This results in surprising and delicious cuisine that is best enjoyed during lunchtime. The restaurant provides a dining experience that allows patrons to savor a diverse range of fresh seafood sourced from local markets due to the region's unique topography and ocean currents.
Agree with many of the comments that is the best sushi experience! The ingredients used and the skill of the chef was excellent. We were lucky to get a seat even though generally this place requires advanced booking. Truly a wonderful night, enjoying the different sushi prepared with skill and care. I would recommend this place to anyone going to Kanazawa. While you are there, try the sake as well - won't regret it.

Amazing local sushi, for a very reasonable price, considering it is a Michelin star rated restaurant (around 15000 Yen for two people, including sake) The atmosphere was very cozy, fish was the freshest I’ve ever tasty, and the rice was perfect. It was truly mesmerising to see the sushi chef creating an almost art or dance with his hands, while preparing the sushi As I don’t speak Japanese, I simply asked for the omakase, but saw other tables getting some sort of set with grilled fish included which looked very tasty too!
Gab A — Google review
Thank you for such a wonderful meal! This is one of the best omakase I've had! Fresh, and with its own character, every piece is a different tasting story. They were fully booked but managed to find a way to squeeze me in for lunch when I went in person to ask, I am so happy that it happened!
Chrissy C — Google review
Just outstanding. But you need to be a regular to get a reservation…months in advance. Find a regular and invite them, you will not regret it. Take sake and you get to pick a bespoke glass.
Adam F — Google review
Sushi here is of an amazing quality and at a fraction of a price compared to Tokyo. Service was really friendly and accommodating, and I was in my happy place. Probably the best sushi in Kanazawa, and definitely comparable to the sushi shokunin in Tokyo. Certainly can't beat the seafood in Ishikawa!
Meng N — Google review
5 stars has never been enough to describe how much I love this restaurant. Probably you could not find such a gem, even in Tokyo
Yen N — Google review
All right, here’s my story. I eat out all the time, and this restaurant really does stand out as a neighborhood gem. The services is fantastic. Every one of the servers will make sure you’re doing well, which is not the case and most restaurants. “ I’ll get your waiter or I’ll get your waitress” is the lame reply you often hear, The food is delicious. Great happy hour and lunch specials. I’m so glad this is a restaurant close to me. Thank you guys. You’re doing everything right. Cheers.

Kaiseki restaurant
Ryotei restaurant
Zeniya is a renowned Japanese street food restaurant nestled in Kanazawa, Ishikawa. The tranquil ambiance of the traditional architecture, complete with hanging scrolls and flowers, offers an authentic dining experience. Skilled chefs prepare a variety of dishes while guests can choose to dine in elegant tatami rooms or observe the culinary artistry at the counter.
Perhaps the single best meal of my life. We were welcomed upon arrival by a personal assistant, Kazumi, who guided us to a private traditional room for our 10 course meal in celebration of my fiance's 30th birthday. A celebratory drink of umeshu awaited us inside, prefacing the delights we were about to experience. Kazumi expertly guided us through each course as she served it, providing advice on how best to enjoy the meal. She spoke English well enough for us to enjoy some laughs together, and was gracious in helping expand upon my limited Japanese. Our stunning meal was capped off with a surprise cake, concluding the perfect evening. I couldn't be more grateful to Kazumi and Zeniya for how special they made our visit for my fiance's birthday.

I went there for my birthday in a private room. I have been to many Michelin starred restaurants but this was by far the best dinner I ever had. The service was impeccable, the food was incredible. Very little processed to maximize the raw quality of each ingredients. The lady how served us was marvellous and guided us through the meal.

Beautiful dinner with wide selection of sake. Dishes were well explained and it was an enjoyable experience. Recommended if you are in town.

Zeniya in Kanazawa is a truly special kaiseki restaurant where every detail feels intentional and personal. Chef Shinichiro Takagi speaks with guests before the meal to tailor the experience — something I’ve never seen done this thoughtfully. The multi-course dinner showcased local seasonal ingredients, including ultra-fresh sashimi and beautifully grilled fish, all presented with elegance and care. The setting is serene, traditional, and peaceful, and the service was as polished as you’d expect from a two-Michelin-starred spot. It’s not just a meal — it’s a personal, handcrafted culinary journey through Ishikawa’s rich food culture. An unforgettable experience.

Best Japanese I’ve been to so far, we went right when crab season started so the course was crab themed and so good. The best part is the hospitality, the owner makes sure to give each guest personalized attention with the warmest welcome! Would definitely recommend.
Reina T — Google review
This restaurant is the pinnacle of Japanese cuisine as far as I know. It offers dishes prepared right before your eyes, using carefully selected ingredients and exceptional skills. While incorporating new approaches, it maintains the essence of traditional Japanese cuisine, creating experiences that can only be enjoyed here. Furthermore, the heartfelt hospitality of the Nakai-san allows you to truly appreciate the beauty of Japan. This restaurant embodies the Kanazawa philosophy that "tradition is a continuum of innovation."
Charley ( — Google review
Again this would be a 4.5 but alas it can’t be done so more 4 than 5. Kaiseki cuisine is essentially what we know as a traditional Japanese multi course meal though in this instance at Zeniya, had adapted a modernness with its menu. I sometimes find kaiseki meals to be a little too bland for my liking but this was not the case here and every dish was well balanced and carefully put together to form a great meal! Here’s some of my favourites!

One of the best Japanese restaurants/experiences I’ve been too. Takagi san is incredibly welcoming and makes the experience the special treat. Was the first week of crab fishing season and had most gourmet dishes.

Omicho Market, known as the "kitchen of Kanazawa," is a bustling indoor complex with over 170 stalls offering an array of fresh produce, seafood, and meat. The market is particularly famous for its variety of fresh seafood caught in the nearby Sea of Japan, including yellowtail, shrimp available year-round, and crab starting from November. Visitors can also explore shops selling local fruits and vegetables not commonly found elsewhere.
Loved loved loved. Pure joy when you find places like these when travelling, and no better way than to spend than with your sibs. Being able to taste local food and snacks. We bought some bento eel rice sets for our lunch which was really yummy and tried the famous gold leaf ice cream! 🍦 🍱 Happy happy joy joy

Definitely the best sea food market we visited in Japan. We walked around for a bit. See and judge how the local vendors react to you. If they completely ignore you (which some tend to do) walk past and find a vendor that is happy with you being there. There are some awesome vendors. For example the vendor at the first crossing near the main who sells oysters and crabs. We tried the oyster and crab here. Was absolutely delicous! We also tried at the next crossing the fresh tuna from the vendor on the left side.

Allegedly the top 3 cleanest fish markets in Japan - this place comes with three floors of restaurants and merchants, and opens from early morning until late afternoon, with full functioning clean toilets available. Most of the foods and restaurants are sold at marked up tourist prices, and during busy period it can be quite overwhelming. Overall a fun experience but won’t recommend for food over a restaurant in the city.
Hils — Google review
Omicho Market located in the heart of Kanazawa city in Ishikawa prefecture is the best market in Japan in my opinion!🔥. Not only does it offer some of the freshest seafood on the planet, but they also offer a lot of delicious fresh fruit and vegetables as well 👍. Compared with some of the other markets in Japan, the prices are not going to break your bank! 😋. The wide streets and friendly shop keepers makers a visit to the market a real treat!😀. Food isn’t the only reason to visit this amazing market, they also have an interesting craft beer shop that has gold leaf beer for that perfect Instagram shot that will make all of your friends jealous!😝
Doing S — Google review
This market is what I had hoped Tsukiji to be, a bit more spacious, stalls to try classic seafood offerings and stalls to offer unique options. While the prices are still a little touristy, it is much much more reasonable than what you’d find in Tokyo and actually feels worth the price. There are several stalls selling seafood (all about 100 yen or so difference) that allow you to stand and eat by them. We picked the one with the shortest queue and had oysters, botan ebi, dogfish (all from Kanazawa) and some uni and maguro as well. The botan ebi is incredible - creamy, smooth, sweet and delicious. Also try the unagi and scallops kushiyaki! Also, there’s a fun store that sells fruits and they sell orange juice in oranges
Amanda J — Google review
One of the main attractions in Kanazawa that I was looking forward to, but it turned out quite disappointing for me. The market opens rather late. We arrived around 9.30am on a Wednesday and not all the shops were open. It felt smaller in scale than expected. There were a few stalls selling fresh seafood like oysters and sea urchin that you can eat on the spot, but overall, the experience did not quite live up to the hype.
Leh P — Google review
The well known fish market in Kanazawa. Wide variety of seafood at decent prices The main shop in the middle mainly serves prepackaged seafood in boxes , pretty fresh tasting.
Kevin K — Google review
Nice with a mix of reasonable shops and overpriced ones. I bought an overpriced baked sweet potato that was dry and maybe old. Moreover, the shop woman, an older lady, was incredibly grumpy. I ate at great sushi shop though, reviewed separately. It's a nice stop before heading to the large widespread castle grounds.

Kanazawa Station is a popular landmark known for its striking architecture and convenient layout. The station features the impressive Tsuzumi-mon Gate, inspired by the traditional Noh drum, which welcomes travelers with its remarkable design. Additionally, the huge glass Motenashi Dome provides shelter from the elements and adds to the station's allure. Surrounding the station are numerous shopping and dining options, including Kanazawa Forus with seven floors of shops and restaurants.
This is a lovely and culturally vibrant town - many tourist areas. The fish market is interesting and has lots of sushi options. Get the grilled mackerel sushi roll if you can. The castle gardens are beautiful.

Lovely town which looks like it has newly built infrastructure. Arty and foodie heaven. Easy to navigate. Only frustrating thing is local bus timetable/routes behind a paywall. Using Google is a bit limiting to plan trips somewhat. We stayed in Nomachi tea district and walked mostly. We mainly walked back streets and ‘discovered’ many hole-in-the-wall eateries and bars. Visit here soon as it is still not on the tourist radar.
Gra G — Google review
Bright and clean station, marked with impressive landmarks on its eastern and western entrances. It has various shopping malls within (Rinto, Anto) and nearby (Forus, Cross Gate) with many restaurants, souvenir stores, etc.
Alvin D — Google review
This is a relatively new railway station with a giant torii gate and facilities including two malls for shopping and dining. Cross is not located here but rather 200 meters away from the station. There is a large parking garage and rooftop available on site, and multiple Shinkansen trains stop here from fukui, Tokyo and Toyama.
Lucas L — Google review
Gold leaf glitters beneath temple roofs; rain falls gently over stone bridges. Kanazawa is a living artwork — samurai lanes, geisha districts, and gardens trimmed like poems. The train rests here, humbled by beauty. Tourist Tip: Final stop for most trains (until Tsuruga). Visit Kenroku-en Garden, Higashi Chaya District, and 21st Century Museum of Art. Stay overnight to feel its soft evening light.

Tsuzumi-mon gate, a fusion of modern and traditional architecture, stands prominently in front of the train stations entrance. The station offers various amenities such as shops, restaurants, cafes and lockers. It provides convenient connections to Fukui, Toyama, nearby towns within Ishikawa, and Komatsu Airport via bus services. We loved shopping at the souvenir store near the exit/entrance

Outside the station, there is a big gate which looks beautiful at night. A lot of people are taking pictures. Also, there's a fountain that is in the shape of the current time, and it says welcome to kanazawa. Overall, I absolutely loved the station.

The D.T. Suzuki Museum, located in a quiet alley, is a tribute to the renowned Japanese Buddhist philosopher D.T. Suzuki. The museum offers educational programs and features a contemplation space and serene gardens for visitors to enjoy. It provides an immersive experience into Suzuki's life and his Zen-like philosophy. The museum consists of the Entrance Building, Exhibition Building, and Thinking Building connected by a corridor leading to the Suzuki Dazhuo Pavilion near his birthplace.
Wonderful place, if you like great architecture, nature and calmness- it is a must visit. The exhibition is also very good.
Michaela K — Google review
A deeply moving space. The architecture is minimal—just a square building surrounded by water—but it holds an overwhelming sense of peace and silence. When I entered, I was genuinely stunned. I didn’t feel the need to “see” anything. I simply stood there, still and quiet, completely absorbed in the atmosphere. It’s not just a museum. It’s a place to pause, reflect, and feel. One of the most unforgettable spots I visited in Kanazawa.
STELLA R — Google review
Highly recommended to have a visit. We came during the afternoon and there was only a handful of people in the museum. It is quite small and the entrance fee is minimal. However the experience was amazing. If you like architecture, then you’ll fall in love with the design and details put in to create a Zen like environment. You can sit there and feel the tranquility. At decent weather the water becomes near calm and the occasional intentional burst in a single spot in the water creates constant water ring through out the pond. What these water rings represent is for you to decide. Have a seat and enjoy.

I visited D.T. Suzuki Museum without interest in Mister Suzuki and without learning much of anything about him. Instead, I visited this museum for the reason it was abdives toe by several different Kanazawa residents, for its peace and beauty. It is an architectural masterpiece, perfect to calm, soothe your mind, take a break from city life. The price is very fair as well

Kinken-gu Shrine, located in Tsurugi, Hakusan City, Ishikawa Prefecture, is renowned as one of Japan's three major money luck shrines. It is believed to bring financial fortune to those who visit. The shrine is smaller than others but has a lot to offer.
(Translated by Google) The parking lot is a little hard to get into, but it can accommodate about 10 cars. I usually go to Hakusan Hime Shrine, but today I went to Kinken-gu Shrine with a friend. Ascending the stairs from the bottom, I was greeted by dignified lion statues and the stone where Yoshitsune is said to have sat. I drew a fortune slip and purchased a good fortune charm. The Fudo Waterfall in the Kinken-gu Shrine grounds was also refreshing and cleansing to the soul. I've heard that it freezes over in winter, so I'd like to visit again when it snows. Beautiful trees, fresh air. It is a very popular shrine to come for best wishes for New Year. Usually very crowded from 11AM, the traffic jam could be as long as 2 km, so my recommendation is to go there early in the morning before 10AM to not only enjoy fresh air but also the ancient, fuzzy smog there. Usually there is snow during New Year, and the big fire pit in the center of entrance is a specular point.

Mori Mori Sushi Omicho is a casual eatery in Kanazawa's largest fresh food market, Omicho. Unlike typical conveyor belt sushi restaurants, this place offers a unique experience where diners order their plates from an iPad at the table and receive freshly made sushi. The playful presentation style creates a casual and comfortable vibe for guests. With a carousel system delivering a wide selection of sushi plates, Mori Mori Sushi ensures great quality and freshness.
Really fresh sushi and good value for money. We especially enjoyed the shrimp items. The shrimps were so fresh and you literally taste the sweetness of it. We went there around 11am and we didn't need to wait the be seated.

Great value sushi cheaper than other places. Sushi is fresh and there is also a la carte side menu. There are many options to choose from. I liked the E7 Shinkansen theme when the sushi arrives at your table. THEY ONLY ACCEPT CASH HERE. A bit uncommon off other places but should you eat here do know they only accept cash
Lucas L — Google review
We visited around 15:00, and the place was nearly empty—perfect for a relaxed meal. The conveyor belt was also quite empty, likely because the restaurant closes at 16:20, but that wasn’t an issue at all. We ordered everything fresh through the tablet, and the sushi was promptly made and absolutely delicious. Just a note, it’s cash only, so come prepared. Great experience overall!
Vytautas M — Google review
Great fun. The seafood sushi was super fresh, yummy and fast. At 2pm on a weekday in Sept I waited 35 mins for a seat. You need to get a ticket from the reception desk by using the tablet (you can switch it to English) and choose between counter or table. The counter has the conveyor belt continuously moving around in front of you with a variety of options that you can take any time. The tables have one end of the table connected to a ‘track’ that a Shinkansen like train brings food out to as you order it. To order, there is a tablet that has all the options including specials on it (you can switch the tablet to English) and as you order it on the tablet the food is given to you (counter) or sent on the train (table). Price is by what you eat. The different colour plates indicate how much each dish was (and the prices are on the tablet when you order. Overall, fun lunch with great food.

American restaurant
Hello HAMBURGER / MOON DOUGHNUTS is a remarkable American eatery located in Hakusan. The burgers served here are incredibly scrumptious, almost like a miraculous creation amidst a remote area. It's the ideal spot to satisfy your cravings after a day of exploring. However, the fries could be better as they're rather ordinary and come in limited portions, making them quite pricey at 500 yen. Despite this drawback, it is still highly recommended.
Cool Burger Restaurant with a unique flair basically next to Shirayama Hime shrine. The food was tasty and the owner is very friendly. There’s also a cool collection of vinyls for sale to check out!

Yummy hamburger with reasonable price! You can choose to setup burgers with fries or chicken wings. We were all satisfied with our hamburgers but I think the shop could do better at plate decoration to make the food looks better overall.
Pavinee — Google review
This shop is an excellent place to enjoy the quality and juicy burgers in Hakusan city. It is just opposite the famous Shirayama Hime Jinja with huge parking lots.
Chanakarn K — Google review
🍔=👍🏻, 🍩=👎🏻 These four stars are for the *burgers*; the donuts are a waste of money. They are plain, with barely any flavor, and outrageously priced for their size and taste (¥350?!). If you go here, don't come for the donuts. The burgers are absolutely delicious and it seems like an actual miracle that burgers this good should exist in the middle of nowhere in Hakusan but somehow there they are. After a day of sightseeing it really hits the spot. My only beef (pun intended) is with the fries: they're pretty average (especially compared to the burgers), you don't get very many of them, and they're expensive. ¥500 is far too much for what you get. Otherwise I highly recommend.

Udon noodle restaurant
Restaurant
Nestled in the charming town of Tsurugi, Ishikawa Prefecture, Koishiya is a delightful family-run restaurant that specializes in authentic Japanese noodles. This cozy eatery offers an impressive selection of Udon, Ramen—including their unique Vegetable Ramen—and Soba dishes, alongside mouthwatering rice options like their delectable fried rice (chahan). The portions are generous and reasonably priced, making it a perfect spot for those with hearty appetites.
One of the local restaurant in the neighbourhood. Small family restaurant, I would say. They are professional of Udon with a choice of ramen and soba noodles you can choose from. They also serve a variety of rice dishes, the fried rice (chahan) is delicious. Price is affordable and reasonable because the portion is big (don't order plus size if you're not a big appertized person or would like to train yourself for eating competition). My favorite dish is niku udon (udon soup with beef) and the newest favorite is yasai ramen (japanese noodle with vegetable, egg, and pork)

This shop always have people queuing up in front. I suggest you to come a bit earlier than noon if you would go for a lunch, then you don’t have to wait long. I came here a lot and my most all-time favorite menu would always be Katsu-udon. Nabe udon is also nice but with a bit too little meat for me.
Pavinee — Google review
Good place for traditional udon and ramen. There is also fry rice with egg fry covered very good. Not so crowded since it located in a rural area but the taste is fantastic. I usually go with friends and family. Tips: order a Udon- Dai for a large bowl that 2 people can share and order the other one. Another note is that it is crowded from 11-12:00 weekend hence avoid these time if you are in hungry.
Hung B — Google review
Although the food is delicious, the shop opens and closes irregularly. Every time I go, the shop is closed, making me waste time going back and forth.

A superb noodle restaurant. It is near Lets supermarket. You have many options to choose from such as udon, ramen, curry rice, and fried rice. They are especially tasteful at noon when the soup is not so sweet or salty. The prices are also a good one. You just spend around six hundred Yen for a delicious bowl of udon and meats.

こいしや (Koyshia) is a family run Japanese noodle restaurant in the small town of Tsurugi, Ishikawa Prefecture. Koyshia is open for lunch and dinner and is particularly popular with locals. There is often a wait for a table or a spot at the counter during lunch, things are more quiet during dinner. In addition to Udon dishes, Koyshia also features its own take on Ramen noodles with their Vegetable Ramen (yasai ramen). They also feature fried and chicken rice, as well as curry and a few different types of set meal.

Delicious! Great prices, too. They did not have an English menu but were very happy to help me. Shoyu ramen was very tasty and a great price.

Japanese restaurant
Tsubajin is a renowned 260-year-old restaurant located at the base of Kanazawa Castle, offering an elegant dining experience and serving delectable Kaisen-don. The establishment's rich history dates back to about 400 years ago when the founding family specialized in traditional sword guard making.
Tsubajin is an amazing destination restaurant. It's located on a busy road in the temple district of Kanazawa, but once inside you are transported back in time. The restaurant was opened in 1752 and is the oldest in Kanazawa, but the building itself is even older. To begin, the service is stellar - from the greeting at the front to the goodbye at the end. It is really a special place to experience the best of Japanese hospitality (aka omotenashi). We had an early reservation on Christmas Eve and the place was not busy. We were so fortunate to be seated in the Koharu-an room which is where Bashō held his haiku gatherings…that is like eating where Wordsworth or Baudelaire or Rumi wrote their poetry...this occurred before Tsubajin was founded, but I still get goosebumps thinking about it. The meal itself was a parade of beautiful dishes that focused on using the freshest local ingredients. Personally, I think that Ishikawa (specifically Kaga) cuisine is at its best in the winter - because that means it’s crab/buri/fugu/etc season! I loved how they left the blue tag on the crab to ensure that it was locally caught too - not surprisingly, the crab was the highlight of our meal. Each course was not just delicious, it was carefully presented on some gorgeous ceramic and lacquerware dishes. Our wonderful server took the time to explain each course and explained to us how many of the serving dishes were historic (as in from the Meiji era) and were used seasonally. To be fair, the food may not be to everyone’s tastes as you really have to love seafood and Japanese cuisine in general. But if you do, then you are in for a truly fantastic experience. We got the most expensive tasting course for ¥38,500 (~$245) - given the ambiance, the history, the service, and the food, we thought it was a bargain. Drinks were separate, but for history nerds/foodies like us, it was worth every penny. Reservations can be made via TableCheck which is nice for people without a Japanese cell phone number - just make sure to confirm the reservation when they contact you via email.

270 year old restaurant with unique dining rooms. Service was outstanding and each dish had a very creative presentation. We had a room with a view onto the river and was very reserved. Great experience overall.

My husband and I are in our honeymoon in Japan, and he came across this restaurant during the planning process for our trip. We made a reservation a few weeks ago, and we were blown away by the service, the ambience, and some of the dishes we tried. We have done fine dining in the past, but never with a palate that is different than ours (we are from the US). We loved having this experience and we’ll remember it for the rest of our lives.
Hayley P — Google review
One of the best restaurants we've ever been to in terms of hospitality, and we've been to numerous 3-star michelin restaurants. It is also unpretentious. The restaurant itself is like a museum, it is idyllic and we were in a private room, the food was excellent and varied. You shouldn't miss this restaurant if you visit Kanazawa.
Alex — Google review
One quiet morning in Kanazawa, I stepped into the centuries-old ryōtei Tsubajin. The scent of wood and tatami greeted me, easing away the fatigue of travel. From a window seat upstairs, I looked out at greenery by the river, old rooftops, and the distant city. Soft morning light filled the room with calm elegance. Breakfast here felt like a ritual—the delicate crab porridge paired perfectly with the clear morning view, making time feel slow and precious. Kanazawa mornings are best begun with such quiet grace.

1 star Michelin kaiseki beautiful traditional restaurant. Require reservations in advance. The oldest in Kanazawa. The restaurant is made up of individual rooms. We got table and chairs. We came for dinner and the experience was truly amazing. The room was beautiful. The kaiseki food and sake were amazing. The staff was super star and professional! They were very welcoming and made the experience the special treat.

What a beautiful experience! It’s truly the best food experience we had in Japan. Located in a 300 years old traditional Japanese building, we were welcome by the staff in 👘 and warm hospitality. The whole experience deserves a 3 Michelin star ⭐️, the food is not only delicious but also exquisitely displayed with seasonal fresh ingredients. The cuisine is not just food, they are like poetry of the seasons in front of you. The room itself is so beautiful decorated and authentic too, it makes you feel like travel back in time. Highly recommend! 👏🌸🎊

Specialty Museums
The Motorcar Museum of Japan is a must-visit for car enthusiasts, housing around 500 classic cars from various eras and origins. The museum showcases lineages of classic Japanese cars like Toyota and Nissan, as well as renowned international brands such as Rolls-Royce and Mercedes-Benz. Visitors can marvel at rare specimens that once belonged to royalty, appeared in films or anime, and even a Doraemon-shaped solar car. The collection is constantly refreshed, offering an exciting surprise with each visit.
There are so many cars, a large space and three floors of vehicles from 1900-1990s. Such as a whole row of Skyline GTR generations, informations on the history of Japanese car companies, and other car brands from around the world. Access is a bit secluded in the suburbs but easy to reach by car (ironic right?) Pricing Adult ¥1200 Child ¥600
Lucas L — Google review
There are many car brands and models here, especially classic ones that look beautiful and unique. However, it might be better if the display were more visually appealing. Since the place has three floors, simply lining up the cars by brand makes it look a bit old and dusty — which is a missed opportunity. Ticket costs 1,200 jpy

We went on a weekday. It was not too crowded. The restaurant was closed when we visited. The place was spacious and it was really filled with cars. Car enthusiast will definitely enjoy this place. The Doraemon & panda car was so cute! Enjoyed looking around.

We had a fantastic time seeing all the various cars and trucks. We went about two hours before closing, and were able to see the whole place, but would have liked to have spent a little more time there. A wide range of vehicles from around the world with the majority from Japan. We really appreciated the “common” cars that would have otherwise been forgotten by time.

What an exceptional find! We had just come from the Komatsu no mori and just randomly found this museum with more than 500 cars from all shapes, sizes, models, eras... My husband is a car guy and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Although, I didn't see a Mustang II in there so I question the legitimacy... 🤣. I kid. It was awesome. Even the toilets were vintage!
Pipi G — Google review
Not sure it was worth the cost of admission or time spent here. Maybe if I was Japanese some of the cars would have more meaning. The cars aren't displayed in an interesting way, they're just jammed in next to each other. We've visited other car museums and this one wasn't great. If you do decide to go, make sure you visit the bathrooms to see toilets from different countries (not sure how that relates to cars, but it was funny).
Alex A — Google review
Very interesting collection of cars Beautiful architecture 2x 2000GTs and a 300SL Gullwing were a surprise A Jza80 Rz and a R34 GTR would finish off the collection nicely though

Natadera Temple, founded in 717 by a monk named Taicho, is an ancient Buddhist temple nestled in the mountains and dedicated to the worship of Mt. Hakusan. The temple's main hall is built inside a natural cave where a statue of Kannon Bodhisattva was placed centuries ago. The temple grounds convey reverence for nature, with structures carved into the rocky landscape and surrounded by breathtaking scenery including a picturesque cliff designated as one of Japan's National Places of Scenic Beauty.
Amazing place with few tourists. Be careful if you go on weekday, there are few buses or nothing at all, I had to walk for an hour back to the station but worth it.

This is an amazing place. It’s spectacular and tranquil at the same time. I highly recommend that you take time out of your schedule to visit this temple and it surrounds. You will not be disappointed. We went mid-week in the morning and it was not crowded, but based on the size of the car park, you might imagine that it can get rather busy.

Beautiful, scenic, historical, and quiet temple. This is one of the more well-maintained and immersive temple I’ve been to. But, considering the admission price (¥1000) and the infrequent bus to this place, it’s just a bit inconvenient. Amazing place though, if I can drive, definitely would return here.

Such a beautiful place. We went here by bus. Please make sure to check in advance the schedules since they only have limited times available per day. It was really worth the trip. Yunokuni no Mori, also known as Kaga Traditional Crafts Village, is a charming spot in Kaga, Ishikawa that offers a glimpse into traditional Japanese crafts. The village features thatched buildings and picturesque natural surroundings, making it an ideal location for sightseeing and photography. Visitors can engage in various hands-on experiences such as glassblowing and paper making, with opportunities to observe demonstrations and create their own crafts.
Recommend very much to everyone. A lot of traditional Japanese skill set and art work. It’s a shame not many people know nor publish on the tourist information

Fun art experience. Activities take about 20 minutes each and are geared towards kids but fun for adults too. The setup is nice with a small garden and traditional houses. Great to do if you are in the area. We did gold leaf and washi paper. Staff are friendly.

This is a great place to learn about and experience traditional Japanese crafts. It’s laid out like a village with shops where you can make something. It’s not cheap. But, it’s worth the cost. My husband, who doesn’t like crafts, liked this place so much, we went two Saturdays in a row. It’s best to get there early so you can make the crafts you want before it closes. The crafts stop at 3:30pm. The village closes at 4:30pm. The bathrooms were pretty cool. They were like mini museums.

A good place to learn and appreciate Japanese traditional arts and crafts. Experience programmes in most workshops. Lots of souvenirs to shop for. Many places to eat and enjoy drinks, and to take nice photos. Good for families and can spend a whole day here.

This is a very interesting place to view as well as learn handicrafts. Each craft is in a traditional structure and you can buy them as well. There are classes in glass blowing, gold leading, lacquer, stencil painti g etc. There are also two restaurants and a small kiosk for food. The place is not crowded at all (maybe because we went on a weekday) and gives you a very relaxed and quiet feeling away from the bustle of the big city. If you enjoy crafts then this place is for you. And if you don't you can just relax.

Shishiku Highland is a mountain viewpoint that can be reached by gondola, offering breathtaking views of Hakusan City and the Sea of Japan from its 650-meter altitude. The area is known for outdoor activities such as paragliding, grass sledding, and loop hiking trails. Visitors can also explore Mount Okushishiku or enjoy a paragliding experience at Sky Shishiku during warmer months.
By far the most rewarding and memorable excursion from Kanazawa - you get varied, dramatic views; exceptionally welcoming hosts in the cafe; plenty of playgrounds for children and, above all, respite from the overcrowding at the mainstream tourist attractions. We were the only foreigners on the mountain, and the monolingual signage shows that they're not that used to foreign tourists here. The town of Tsurugi is sleepy, but has a handful of nice restaurants, shrines and a sake brewery with a huge, new factory store you walk past to get from the train to the cable car.

Great area to walk around. However, I spent most of the day exploring the trails while not being exactly sure where they went. They seem to loop around the mountain and there are a few open spots scattered to see the valley below.

I used to be here for paradigling with tandem. For one person is around ¥10.000 for one time flight. You can book before come here by call and they can speak english well. When I was here, I had to go uphill by van, not by gondola. it takes 30 min to go up, and fly for 15 minutes. It was my second time for paradigling, but first time in Japan. Omoteya is a popular spot that offers a variety of delectable treats. The potato parfait, priced at 600 yen, is a delightful mix of bean paste, corn flakes, sweet potato paste, soft serve ice cream, and more. The large-sized grill options are also highly recommended for their generous portions and delicious fillings. This eatery tends to be crowded during special occasions like New Year's Day but offers a beautiful interior and an extensive menu.
There is an ice cream shop before the restaurant. I walked to the shrine from the Tsurugi station and it was really hot, so I enjoyed the ice cream. Nice shop, nice owner.

They also have daily set meals and rice bowls. There are limited quantities available, and some items are sold out, so it's best to visit early for a wider selection. When I went, a sign saying lunch had ended around 1:30 PM, so I recommend going early if you're looking for rice.
