This was one of our favorite stops on this trip. The views from the visitors center are very good. We took the walk to the bottom of the canyon it was very cool but very strenuous. There were a lot of stairs. We made it fine but had to take our time. The staff in the visitors center were very friendly and informative. They gave Thomas an application to fill out on the tour. Then he was swore in as a Jr Ranger. He was very excited. I would recommend the hike if you are able. It was a beautiful place, and you get to see ruins up close. There is an easier trail along the rim with great views from a distance if you are unable or short on time for the canyon trail.
The rangers and volunteers here are so kind and sweet. Loved this park so much. Love that its less crowded too. Ive been to a few with native dwellings. I plan to see all of them. This one is in the top 3. Beautiful views.
The history here is incredible, what a great place to visit. You need to know that it is not a quick in and out if you want to hike the whole trail, and there are a billion, or maybe 10 billion stairs. 😄 But it really is a good hike, read up on it a bit before you go so you can see the significance of this awesome place. The visitors center has restrooms, information, and a small gift shop. There is the Rim trail also which is shorter and flat, in case the stairs are an issue. Plenty of parking too, I highly recommend.
Wulnut Canyon was a surprise for me and I would recommend to visit this place. Amazing walk and tour through the Canyon. There's a parking place on the front and you pay the National Park entrance fee what is valid for next 7 days if you visit again or other things in National Park. It's not valid for the Grand Canyon, you pay for that separately.
A wonderful experience exploring ancient cliff dwellings in a spectacular setting. Great visitor center with helpful park staff to learn about the villages and the people who once lived there. There are two paved trails, The Rim Trail with great overviews, and the Island Trail, which was my favorite. The Island Trail has more than 700 steps, and it takes you right up to the dwellings.
A Hidden Gem on the Road: Walnut Canyon National Monument During a road trip, we discovered Walnut Canyon National Monument by surprise, and it turned out to be a truly beautiful and unexpected place. It's a slice of nature that hides from the highway, revealing a spectacular landscape with ancient ruins. A Place to Explore and Enjoy: The park is very well-organized and maintained. The facilities are clean, including the restrooms, and the staff is very friendly. Although it was a quick visit for us, we realized it's a place where you can stay as long as you like. There's a picnic area with breathtaking views of the canyon, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. The site has a visitor center, a souvenir shop, and, most notably, trails that lead down into the canyon. These paths allow visitors to get a closer look at the ruins, which are like "houses" built into the canyon walls by past civilizations. Although we didn't have time to do these hikes, they looked safe and well-marked. A Worthwhile Destination: In summary, Walnut Canyon National Monument is a tranquil and beautiful place that is definitely worth visiting. It's a perfect addition to a road trip and a gem we hope to explore with more time in the future.
Absolutely beautiful place! The scenery is breathtaking and the trails are very well maintained. A special thank you to Ranger Lucy — she was so kind, caring, and incredibly patient with us, even though we arrived about 20 minutes before closing time. She took the time to explain everything clearly and made us feel so welcome. Her dedication truly made our visit extra special. Highly recommend visiting this gem!
What a beautiful look into the region's past! The Island Trail provided stunning views of the canyon and incredible up-close looks at ancient cliff side homes. Walnut Canyon is an unforgettable place to visit!

Awesome place to visit. Lots of things to see. Plan on spending at least half a day to take in all the sights & trails.
Highly recommend for visiting! It was very interesting to see really crater and visited museum and trued astronauts foods… Nice point!
Definitely one of my favorite parks. If you're going to be in the area, it's absolutely worth a stop. If you're looking for a spot to camp for free, basically all of the roads outside the park allow dispersed camping.
Beautiful crater with an interesting history as to its formation and magnitude. Trails at the base offer unique views.
Small, but wonderful park. It doesn't seem as over run with people as some ofvthe others. Very peaceful. It's a shame that so much of the park was burned in a fire in '22. Some of the trails are closed. Still some very interesting walks to take, getting up close the the lava. Beautiful views. Nice visitors center.
We were there on Dec. 4.2023. We had Ben hear back on April 2018. We found this place simply awesome . Seeing the lava flows. Around and the nice walk ways around the Crater part is really nice also have nice trials to walk on to . There where area when come in to park you can pull off and get a good Picture of the Sunset Crater . And the Mountains behind you when there they had snow on them . It was really pretty to see.
We love coming here, it's peaceful, has great trails and I love the "crunch- crunch" sounds when walking on the rocks of the lava flow. Beautiful!!
Neat place to observe volcano(s). Lots of plants growing in the lava remains and nice trails

This Monument was a beautiful step back in time. The scattered locations of these monuments made a day of easy hiking a joy. In one day you can walk among 7 different communities that are all around the area with beautiful views of the San Francisco peaks, the north and east rim of the Grand Canyon and the Painted Desert. Spectacular way to enjoy a day of hiking
Very cool! Glad I stopped to see it. The have it set up nicely. Even though you can on go out so far (to prevent humans from damaging it) you still can see how everything was setup and the way of life. The visitors center has a lot of information and items to buy (I got a mug).
Awesome sunrise and sunset shoots at wukoki Pueblo. Great sunrise at the Wuptaki pueblo, barely any ppl here, lovely dark sky park for astrophotography, bathrooms at most Pueblos, easy walking distance to view each Pueblo.
We drive to the park, but the park was closed. Looking some structure, sink hole and beautiful view.
Very cool ruins. The house structure was neat and my husband was very impressed with the blow hole that blows cold air.
Wupatki is a well preserved gem and a must visit place if you're interested in ruins. It is a place that gives you a true sense of what living must have been like in the harsh environment of the area. Never crowded and easy to get to. You could explore here all day and not seeing everything
We decided to drive through Wupatki, Az. It was really amazing to see these structures that were built so long ago still standing. You are allowed to walk on the ruins. The natural blow hole was interesting. The hat kept getting stuck on the bill. The rangers were so nice and informative. We saw a raven and it was really friendly too . Haha
What a great experience, from the pueblos to being able to hike in a lava field, this was awesome!! The "mothers breath" vent that blew COLD air, I did not want to leave!

We stopped here on our recent trip to Flagstaff. We are very happy that we did, even though the sky did not cooperate during our visit. They have a few very nice telescopes that they let the public view through. The history of the facility is just as impressive. I had no idea this facility is where the dwarf planet Pluto was discovered. There are a lot of nice displays and exhibits to interact with. The staff were all great. The shows in the auditorium were fun and informative. We definitely recommend stopping in and checking the place out.
What a wonderful place to visit for the whole family! Toddler play room, interactive room for all ages, demos and talks. Looks like these guys thought of it all. Very beautiful campus to walk around. Definitely go see different telescopes they have and take a look at the sun and the sun spots during the day. Make sure to come back at night because this place is happening! You will see a variety of celestial object in the sky through telescopes and with a naked eye. Make sure to ask questions. Everybody who works here is super friendly and will gladly engage in a conversation about all space matters ❤️
I cannot say enough good things about this place. It was absolutely amazing. I live in Colorado and I have no problem making the 8 Hour Dr. back exclusively to visit this place. The staff is wonderful, the amenities are very nice and clean, it’s incredibly family, friendly, and well designed, and the night viewing is fantastic. One of my favoriteplaces I’ve ever gone to.
My first visit was a fantastic experience! The live constellation show, while an additional cost, felt like a worthwhile investment for a complete nighttime experience. There are plenty of exhibits to explore, making it easy to spend a lot of time on the grounds. The auditorium show was a definite highlight, with the immersive elements truly enhancing the sense of scale. For those planning a visit, I'd highly recommend checking the moon phase beforehand, especially if you're interested in the rooftop observation. When the moon was nearly full, it made spotting constellations more challenging, as they were often positioned behind us, away from the observation area. It was also difficult to see the guide's laser pointer due to the bright light. Planning around the moon's cycle could help you get the most out of this particular part of the program."
WOW. That's all ai have to say about the updates and new visitor center. I took my family today and had a wonderful experience. The exhibits are educational, but so much more! They are interactive with sensory based learning, and everyone left with new knowledge. I have always recommended Lowell and now I can be even more enthusiasts about it. Bravo.
My 9 year old daughter is obsessed with space. This place was great!! We didn't make it early enough for tickets to the outdoor planetarium which was a bummer. We had a great time walking around the grounds at night, looking through the telescopes and playing in the play zone. The inside exhibits are very informative. The smells are the best and worst! I feel like I can still smell one in particular weeks later. 😂 I wish there was better organization at the group of outdoor telescopes. And maybe better signage or markers between the Clark and the indoor exhibits. We still made it where we needed to go but I could see how it'd be easy to get lost or end up somewhere you don't belong. All in all it was an amazing visit. We showed up around 8pm on a Friday night and it was definitely busy. But the skies were clear and the weather was nice. We'll absolutely be back. Especially since Lowell participates in the Museums For All program.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Lowell Observatory! The exhibits, engaging activities, and telescopes were absolutely fascinating. The staff was knowledgeable and made the experience even more enjoyable. We didn’t have enough time to explore everything, but we’re definitely looking forward to returning on a dark night to get the full stargazing experience!
I definitely recommend if you're in town to visit. The interactive entertainment is great for all ages. They even have inside playground for kids now. The outside campus is also amazing. The entire campus is ADA accessible I have a food court if you want to snack.

Downtown Flagstaff has a vibe that just sticks with you. I love how you can wander from a cozy coffee shop to a local bookstore, then stumble into a live band playing outside a brewery—all within a few blocks. The mix of old brick buildings and mountain air gives it a charm that feels both grounded and alive. I’ve had some of my favorite slow afternoons there, just people-watching or catching the sound of a train rolling through. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to linger a little longer.
Enjoyable discovery. Downtown area has lots of cafes, coffee shops and stores to check out amongst a collection of historic buildings. I like how many of the building had plaques describing the history of the building along with historic murals and photographs (Auto shop murals were very neat!) we stopping at the Amtrak train station which is also the visitor center with staff to describe local details, plenty of brochures and a gift shop with nice Route 66 memorabilia for sale. Parking was easy and lots to check out!
Beautiful city on Rt 66. Historic Old Town is loaded with good food, unique and adventurous fun, tons of shopping, great bars, and a rich history of Flagstaff. This is a great place to set up your base camp to travel to about a dozen adventures including The Grand Canyon.
Flagstaff is a great two hour escape from the heat and strip malls of Phoenix. Flagstaff has a vide that you don't often find in Arizona with a walkable downtown area filled with cute shops and amazing restaurants. Nice to see people out of their cars and walking around. Highly recommend this Arizona getaway.
It is a cute little downtown in Flagstaff. The downtown is clean and walkable. There are also many shops, restaurants, bars and hotels. Small but lively. A nice place to hangout with friends.
What a cool town. We went on Labor Day weekend and there was an art festival and Farmers market that we really enjoyed. Parking is kind of a hassle and expensive but otherwise a really great getaway.
Great for every age and every walk of life. Hardest part is finding parking. So many shops/stores, restaurants, brewery/pubs, ice cream and frozen yogurt shops, plus tons of hotels from historic to modern.
Cute town with many shops that you can walk around with your friends and family.

Arizona Snowbowl in Flagstaff is one of the best winter destinations in Arizona, offering a unique skiing and snowboarding experience without having to travel out of state. Located on the majestic San Francisco Peaks, the resort provides breathtaking mountain views along with a wide variety of runs suitable for beginners, intermediate riders, and advanced thrill seekers. The slopes are well-maintained, and the recent upgrades with modern chairlifts have greatly improved the overall experience by reducing wait times. What makes Snowbowl particularly special is the combination of great snow conditions and the vibrant mountain atmosphere. The resort is family-friendly, offering ski schools for kids and beginners, while also catering to more experienced riders with challenging terrain and terrain parks. The lodge area has a nice selection of food and beverages, and the outdoor deck is perfect for relaxing while soaking in the panoramic views. Since it’s only a short drive from downtown Flagstaff, visitors can easily combine their ski trip with exploring the city’s restaurants and historic charm. Weekends can get crowded, so arriving early is recommended. Overall, Arizona Snowbowl is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy winter sports in Arizona, delivering fun, scenic beauty, and memorable mountain adventures.
Snowbowl in Flagstaff is always a great time during snow season! If you’re looking for family fun, the gondola ride is a must. For those who love snowboarding or skiing, the slopes are fantastic—just be mindful, your speed can pick up pretty quickly. Even if you’re not hitting the slopes, the atmosphere alone makes it worth the trip. And if you happen to forget something, their shop has everything you need to make the most of your snow day. Highly recommend!
This is the first time I’ve ever given a review that’s not five stars—and unfortunately, it’s due to the worst customer service I’ve received, especially from a manager, at the Snowbowl Store next to the Gondola ride. On September 28th, our group of five came for the Gondola scenic ride. It was raining and cold, but our excitement to see the mountain wasn’t dampened. As season pass holders, we visit often in the winter and were eager to see the fall colors. However, we underestimated how cold it would be that day. The ride operator kindly told us that the store sold blankets and jackets, so we went inside. I printed our passes and purchased a blue blanket (around $20 and it just had a price sticker with no tag tied on it, it’s probably returned by someone but I didn’t give it much thought) and two jackets (around $240 total). We placed our water bottles and an extra jacket we’d brought into the large bag given to us, went up the ride, and enjoyed what little scenery we could see—it was foggy but still a nice experience. We planned to come back later if the weather cleared up. After coming down, I remembered that we never used the blanket, so I decided to ask if I could return it. The cashier politely asked if it had been used, and I said, “Not at all, since we ended up using the jackets.” She went to ask her manager, and while waiting, I picked up a few small items for the kids. When the manager came out, he asked, “Why did you buy the blanket?” I explained that it was in case it got too cold, but we forgot about it and never used it while feeling his judgement in his eyes. Then he said, “We are not runing a rental shop here. You know what I believe? I think you used it and now want to return it…” I was stunned by that accusation and said, “I swear to God, I did not use it.” He replied that it was not returnable—though there were no signs anywhere in the store stating that. I, suck at arguing, walked away soon after. If he had simply said from the start, “Sorry, we don’t accept returns,” I would have understood. I spent over $400 in that one hour between the jackets and lift tickets. I wouldn’t have minded the no-return policy for $20ish but the fact that he accused me of lying made it the worst experience I’ve ever had as a customer. I left angry and disappointed, telling myself I wouldn’t spend another penny there. Unfortunately, since I already purchased the 2026 season pass, I’ll have to return. Then a couple of days later I read in a holy writing that if someone wrongs you, forgive them immediately so I’ve made peace with this unpleasant experience. However, during a family dinner last weekend when my family asked about our trip and I shared the experience, they encouraged me to leave a review—so that this kind of behavior might be corrected. To be fair, most of the staff member we’ve met at Snowbowl over the years has been wonderful. We’ve had many great experiences skiing there with our kids… But you know what they say about one bad apple… I wouldn’t wish anyone to experience what we experienced… So watch out and hope you have a good time.
We had a fantastic time yesterday here . The area is absolutely gorgeous and very well maintained too ! The hamburger and fries were delicious too . There were many activities for the whole family . Awesome customer service too . We will definitely be back soon . Have a blessed day 😇
We met a super friendly man here. He helped us to go from the ticket purchase place to the ski place 😍 You can shop the ticket both online and offline. Recommend to shop it online so you can go straight to the ski center.
I visited in early August to see the Aspen leaves flutter. It was extremely peaceful with beautiful views. The gondola was working but I didn’t try it. 100% you should make time to visit.
If you're looking for a great place to snowboard in Arizona, this is pretty much the only spot—but luckily, it's a solid one. I had an awesome time hitting the slopes with my friends. The runs are fun and well-maintained, with options for both beginners and more experienced riders. The views from the mountain are amazing, especially on a clear day. The rental process was smooth, and the staff was helpful. It can get a little crowded on weekends, but that’s expected at a popular spot. Overall, if you're in Arizona and want to snowboard, this is the place to go. Definitely recommend!
Visited the Arizona Snowball this August with my kids. We rode the gondolas to the top, got out and walked around for a bit, and took in the views. I had purchased my tickets earlier in the week and then noted before we headed up from Phoenix that the gondolas were on hold due to rain and lightning. The website said you could only get a rain check if you were present on site, so we drove up and hoped for the best. When we arrived the gondolas were still on hold. Customer service said that we could hang out and wait to see if they open up as the lightning seemed to have moved on or get a refund on a gift card to use in the future or other activities on site. Because there were other activities we decided to hang out. We purchased snow cones, played in the hamster wheel and poked around the gift shops. There was an event going on with a live band, a restaurant and a section that was for 21 and up only. They also had a bungee trampoline, and downhill tubing slides for kids. The gondolas did open up within about 30 minutes and we were good to go even with it sprinkling. The views from the top were beautiful. It seemed there were some hiking trails but they were closed presumably due to the rain and lightning.

The visitor center inside the train station has lots of travel and tourist information. There are numerous freight trains that roll through Flagstaff each day along with Amtrak which is perfect for rail fans. There is also lots of Route 66 nostalgia and easy access to restaurants.
Friendly, knowledgeable on North Arizona area, and loaded with resources for customers. Fair pricing on souvenirs. Amtrak station departing, 8:30 pm for LA, OR Amtrak train departs early morning for Chicago. Be sure to stop by in the historic district Route 66 in Flagstagg AZ. Don't forget to purchase a ticket for parking.
The visitor center was recommended by a sweet lady from one of the gift shops we visited downtown Flagstaff and i have to say stopping here is a MUST if you are visiting! Everyone was very sweet and super informative! 🫶🏼 Lastly, grab you a coupon for the Snowbowl Gondola while you are there! 😘
One of the best visitor centers I've ever been to. So many historical souvenirs and trinkets. Plenty of informational brochures and packets for tourists like myself. The train station is in the same building. Public restrooms are available. Parking is available. Your guides are available to lead you through downtown as well. The staff is nice and courteous. Best part is the train that goes around the top part of the store. 25 cents to press the button.
Maintains the ambience of a historic train station. Super pleasant and attentive staff. The best Route 66 souvenirs! Definitely a “must stop” for a visit if in Flagstaff.
Went inside at 4:45 pm, got some brochures, and started looking at the T-shirts. The clerk asked if I was ready to check out. I said “Not yet. You close in 10 minutes right?” And she looked at her watch and said “We close in 6 minutes. So you’ll have to check out now.” I walked out without purchasing anything.
Great place to stop and stretch your legs in Flagstaff. The staff is helpful and the visitors center is full of informative brochures. There are a few historical items on display and gift shop. This is also a working train station. I loved the train diorama and trains on display.
Very cute shop and info in the train station. You can sit and wait for one of those iconic American trains and the people are super nice. Tho it closes at 5 pm

Amazing and very interesting museum. Big enough to walk around and see plenty of stuff. Not too big to tire you out from walking and reading. Bathrooms are available in more than one part of the museum and the court yard is beautiful. Many artifacts, plenty of seating available. Lots of activity sections for children. The gift shop is expensive but if you have the money then the stuff is extremely nice to get. The staff was courteous and pleasant. Plenty to learn about the history of the natives, the land, and the symbolism in the art work. Highly recommend visiting for all locals and tourists. $18 a person. Discounts for students and native Americans. Children under 10 are free. Ticket is for all day. You can leave and come back the same day.
This museum contains plenty of artifacts from native Americans and nature. After visiting you’ve learned a lot from the history and environment of Northern Arizona. Outside there are a few nice walking trails.
Beautiful & respectful accounting of Indigenous history & interesting evolution of Earth Science! We were there for about 3 hours, and captivated the entire time. For parents with kids of all ages, (mine are 18), each room had interactive activities for them to learn interactively. A must-see in Flagstaff, AZ!
Absolutely fantastic hidden gem of a museum. You MUST stop by, as it is simply an awesome way to spend a few hours of pure enjoyment.
Very quiet place, great for kids to learn some history. It has some trails you can walk outside as well. Very interesting stuff but I wish it was more interactive. The gift shop prices were insanely highly. But overall a good experience.
I spent a morning at this wonderful, beautiful museum and plan to return in the future. The staff are welcoming, helpful and responsive to questions. There is accessible parking and the outside setting is beautiful. I was most interested in the history and ways of life of the first people and was delighted by the artifacts and detailed explanations. One of the distinctive aspects of the museum is its focus on history, art and their intersections. It would be easy to spend an entire day, immersed in this well presented discovery/learning environment. In sum, it was time well spent, a lifetime memory.
Took my two young daughters to check it out and they loved it! Lots of things they are aloud to touch and tons of information to teach them about culture and history. They loved the dinosaurs the most but they definitely learned some things and were very happy with the trip.
Amazing walk through the native American culture and their will to survive 100 years of government annihilation

What a wonderful historical building! We enjoyed a tour of the house and loved learning the history of the town. There is also a self guided tour. The junior ranger program is so fun too!
For anyone that loves house tours & history- definitely put this on your list! Highlight of our trip for me. I did the guided tour, self-guided tour & Jr Ranger packet & learned different things from each one. Such cool history in a calm and beautiful place. Note to facilitators- please add better AC in the visitors center!
Very unique Arts & Crafts style mansion built with two separate living areas joined by common space. Our guide on 9/9/2025 (I forgot his name, sorry) was a wealth of knowledge regarding the mansion and family. A must see if you enjoy historical homes.
What a complete and lovely surprise this destination was. We have been to the area several times to visit the Grand Canyon and were looking for a different attraction to visit with the kids, 11 & 17. Got to the mansion about noon were planning just doing the $5 walk visit, but found out we could not visit inside the house without doing the tour at 1pm. We decided pay $18 / $12 fee (adult /child) and were were happy we did. The outside walk around is beautiful, the guided information is interesting and pertinent. I definitely recommend taking the time to walk around, read the provided tour and look at the external grounds of the building. There are also plenty of benches and areas to eat, so don't hesitate to bring your lunch. But, the great part is the inside tour itself. Our tour guide was a history student from NAU and she provided a great amount of information, ancedotes about the Riordan family, and the history of the buildings and the grounds. The inside of the home was well maintained and a great look back on history of the time. This was a truly great experience and both of my kids walked away happy that we did this excursion. We were all really impressed with the quality and information that came from that tour. As a side note, while people might say the prices could be lower, as a state park entity, I see this investment going back to the community and the continued preservation of historic sites such as this. Not only did we have a very enjoyable and memorable afternoon, it would have cost us almost as much to go to a movie. However, the lasting effects of this outing go much farther then a singular movie ever would have.
A Fascinating Stop on Our Girls’ Weekend – Loved the History! We visited the Riordan Mansion during a girls’ weekend getaway to Flagstaff, and it ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. The home itself is beautiful and so well preserved, but what really made it special was the deep history connected to the Riordan family and Flagstaff itself. The tour was full of interesting stories – from the family’s role in the logging industry to how they helped bring electricity to Arizona. It was eye-opening to learn how many major parts of Flagstaff’s development are tied back to this one family. If you enjoy history, vintage architecture, or just want to learn more about Arizona’s roots, this is such a worthwhile stop. The mansion is beautifully maintained, and the staff was friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable. Whether you're with friends, family, or exploring solo, I highly recommend visiting. It’s a quiet, enriching experience that gives you a new appreciation for Northern Arizona’s past.
The Riordan Mansion was well worth the stop on our trip! I would highly recommend doing the tour of the inside. It’s inexpensive and well worth it. Our host was super knowledgeable and there’s a lot to see inside. It was also fun to walk around the grounds. It’s a perfect way to spend 2 hours!
We liked it! Tour guide was educational and we learned a lot about the Riordan family and their arts and crafts home. It was much cooler inside and the mansion had many rooms to walk through. I believe he said 95% of the things there were artifacts. Glad we visited during our short stay in Flagstaff!
My Son and I was just going to pay the entrance fee, but decided on the tour and it was well worth it. Our tour guide was full of information, describing details about the home and the Riordan family, including Flagstaff history and community. The people at the giftshop and visitor's center were friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend visiting this Mansion and taking the tour guide. We plan to come again with more family and friends.

Such a cool place and amazing staff that runs it. Very polite and accommodating when we were visiting. The course is spread out with so many different options. Gets pretty tough as you progress so take your time and enjoy. Plenty of parking even if u have a trailer.
11yr son and 53yr dad challenged. It was really challenging. My son gives up after half point. Still took over 2 hours. Very enjoyable place! There was no waiting line to buy tickets. But they make group to start. I think 1 group per hour. Because we need a guide for safety. That's why we wait 45 minutes to start.
To me this was a laid back, but fun adventure. It has some progressively difficult challenges as you proceed. The staff was great and I had a pleasant experience with everyone I interacted with.
Fun experience and would do it again! We did the adventure course which also included several zip lines.super friendly staff helped answer all our questions.
This place is a great time for all skill levels! Our group of three teens and two adults, had a blast running through the course, which takes you through increasing levels of difficulty. I had an equally enjoyable time spectating from the safety and comfort of the ground. You can follow your adventurer along the entire course. Also, your adventurer can go as far as they feel comfortable. If they need to tap out and be helped down, there is only encouragement and reassurance. No judgement, which was great to see. The Guides and staff are fantastic! Front desk check in was easy and we were met with smiles and banter. Adrian got us geared up and was uber-personable, a knowledgeable and high energy motivator. Abby had the most chill demeanor, when one of our girls was a little “over” the black level difficulty, she had exactly the right mix of supportive and measured! Great value! Awesome Adventure!
Such a fun experience in the woods! The course has different levels which get more challenging as you go but definitely worth your money. It is very secure if you follow the rules properly. Staff was lovely and helpful. We arrived 30mn late and they waited for us. We were just sad to leave!
Not for the faint of heart or those with a fear of heights. Don’t let how fun this looks trick you into thinking this isn’t a workout of body, mind, and emotions. Though I had didn’t make it all the way through my partner made it through 4/5 of the courses and the couple grouped with us did all 5. He and they had so much fun! Like an adult jungle gym. The staff was absolutely amazing and the equipment is well maintained. You are safe at all moments of the course. This truly is an adventure course. I suggest anyone to check it out. The value is great, the employees are great, and you can really take it at your pace and have as much or as little fun as you want. Highly recommend reserving your spot on your next trip to flagstaff!! They also have a zip line course which I can’t wait to come back and try out.
We booked the ropes course for one of our company team building days. Everyone had a blast! The levels progress in difficulty. Our company has a variety of ages and fitness levels but EVERYONE had a great time! Booking online was easy and the office employees were very helpful and answered all our questions before we booked. There are staff members located throughout the course so we were never without help. We all want to go back to make it further through the course or to beat our previous time! Would definitely recommend if you like challenging yourself or enjoy a little friendly competition!

I've generally had nothing but great experiences dealing with National Forest folks, and this office was no exception - many thanks to George for the excellent camping tips! Had a great time in the forest.
Not a very robustic scenery. Lots of falling, chopped and dead trees. Roads are rocky (literally...rock and stones- if you go the back way), so have good tires or an off road vehicle. Still, the scenery was cool, as you can see different species of flowers and shrubs with amazing colors.
Unreal that the forest service decided to leave an active fire after a campfire that was unattended started the whole thing up on peaks land. If a campfire started this fire, then why would they leave this one unattended to possibly start a bigger one?! US forest service, decided to leave this fire unattended all night long while embers are still sparking... WHY?!!!
I have been trying to get a wood permit. I call during business hours. I call within the silly wood permit window. I leave messages. I am convinced there is no one there. If you want people to work within the system you better make it easy for them to do so. Otherwise people will start working outside the system.
Called to voice a concern about access to water. Talked to an incredibly rude and surly woman named liz. So rude unhelpful and unfriendly she hung up on me. Water is fundamental human right and the national forest and all of its entities are tax payer funded so getting access to a good amount of drinking water should be no problem, she made it seem like it wasnt. Shocked this happened what a rude nasty woman.
I got a permit for cutting wood. I called and a woman came to the door. She took care of my business within a couple of minutes. Efficient and friendly.
The freedom to be able to park in camp anywhere you wanted within a small limit you could find fire pit that was already made and just stop and kickback and just pick up and start over the next day and find another one it was it was fabulous highly recommended highly recommended
Called them with a question regarding accessing campgrounds in my vehicle and they gave me 4 places to check out! very helpful

The San Francisco Mountains near Flagstaff, Arizona, offer a breathtaking escape into nature. With Humphreys Peak, the highest point in Arizona, as its centerpiece, the range provides stunning vistas, diverse flora and fauna, and excellent outdoor recreation opportunities. Whether you're hiking through verdant forests, skiing down snowy slopes in winter, or simply admiring the panoramic views, the San Francisco Mountains never fail to impress. However, accessibility and weather conditions can vary, so it's essential to plan accordingly. Overall, a visit to the San Francisco Mountains promises unforgettable experiences for nature lovers and adventurers alike.
Breath taking views
Snow Bowl, lots of pine trees, and highest peak in the state of AZ. Hike it!!
The San Francisco Peaks near Flagstaff is a great place to hike and bike and sometime crosscountry ski if the snow comes. You may see deer, elk, or turkey but in recent years the forest fires are bigger and more intense and climate hasn't helped and if you are a climate change denier I grew up there and it doesn't snow like it did when I was a kid. See it while you can.
Arizona Highway 89 South you'll find San Francisco Peaks in Flagstaff Arizona covered by clouds and snow usually absolutely breathtaking
I took a morning to summit Humphreys Peak. A very fun and moderately strenuous hike! I'd do it again.
One of the most beautiful places in America if not the world, the lucky people of flagstaff should be proud to live in such a beautiful place!

After a 14 hour drive pulling a travel trailer, we were welcomed into their lot to stay the night in a safe environment. Security patrolled the parking area a few times during the night, which as a nice addition. The casino is not big, but very nice and tasteful. We arrived a few minutes before 10pm - we were in need of a little food before turning in. The steakhouse staff welcomed us to come in (even though they were closing in 5 minutes). The treated us wonderfully. The food was amazing and our waiter, Gabriel - the regular bartender, was wonderful. He suggested what to get to eat, split it for us and suggested a desert to split as well. He educated us on the beef industry with the Navajo community for the casino steakhouse. We were so impressed by our night adventure, that we went in for breakfast the next morning. The buffet at the Cafe was great. It was very interesting and fun to learn about. We will for sure be back here.
We stayed here for a night driving from SW Colorado to Phoenix and really liked it. Our room was wonderful - well appointed as nice as any high end hotel. The casino layout was super convenient. There is a circular lobby area with the restaurants, casino and hotel branching out from it. The casino itself is good size - not too big and not small. Our meals were all good and the staff was wonderful. We'll be back.
We stayed here overnight in our RV (thus no room reviews). The location is right of Hwy 40, super easy in and out. While it's nearby the freeway, it was very quiet. There is designated RV parking, however RVs and truckers parked in other areas of the huge parking lot. The lot is fairly level. The property is surrounded by beautiful desert. The Casino itself is very nice. It's clean, the air is clean, the facilities and gaming are modern and up to date. The staff are very friendly. I really wanted to give it 5 stars. But, the slots (and we tried many) are stingy! Most slots giveth and taketh away, these just taketh away. Our gambling expectations are for entertainment, have a couple of drinks, gamble, maybe win, but expect to lose. Win a little along the way, lose a little. These were lose lose lose. We easily dropped $50 each before we finished our 2nd cocktail. They are the only casino on this hwy heading west through Arizona, so no competition.
We love it here! One of our favorite places to visit and stay. We live in East Central Arizona but travel south each winter to ser family. We stay in their RV parking area. We typically have a Class C but stored it this year and are traveling in a converted camper van. Register with security before you get too settled. Make sure you get a player's card. They are generous with $10 in players credits. Food is good. We always get a pizza, it's delicious. We also get fuel and breakfast at their travel stop. They have a nice sportsbook and plenty of slots to choose from. The Navajo are good people so treat them well while you are there.
Really enjoyed my stay here. Rooms and entire casino is clean, well kept and comfortable. The pool is huge and the hot tub was nice as well. Hotel staff are professional and friendly. I will definitely be coming back to Twin Arrows Casino/Hotel. I definitely recommend this place.
Just east of flagstaff, about 20 minutes. It is worth the drive to twin arrows. This gem in the middle of nowhere is perfect. Lots of games and you are welcomed into a lobby with a beautiful chandelier! I wish the tables games started sooner though or were open for more hours because those tables filled up fast! And if you go to the sports bar, I highly recommended the wings, BEST WINGS IN FLAGSTAFF!!! What a beautiful casino.
I was there on a Wednesday afternoon, and it was the empties casino I've ever been to. There was only one guy on the floor serving drinks, which was unfortunate. I had to get my first two beverages at the bar myself. Other staff was very friendly and helpful though. They should improve the smoking area, and add some seating to that outside area. Otherwise, I had a fun time
Clean and grat atmosphere with lots of slots and tables to play. They have an indoor pool and hot tub. Also they have a fitness center and an awsome video game room with computers, Xbox, Playstation with huge gaming screens (have to pay). Just overall great casino resort.

First time at NU in over 30 years. Flagstaff is gorgeous in a used campus is beautiful. WARNING TO ALL PROSPECTIVE NURSING STUDENTS: BEWARE OF NAU’S COLLEGE OF NURSING After two years of grueling preparation—acing every prerequisite, maintaining a 4.0 GPA, scoring a 96% on the HESI A2, and working closely with advisors every semester—I was officially admitted into Northern Arizona University’s Traditional BSN program for Fall 2025. I signed my acceptance contract on April 28, 2025, after years of sacrifice, hard work, and careful life planning as a working adult. Then came May 22, 2025. In a hastily arranged Zoom meeting, Suzanne McWilliams, Director of NAU’s College of Nursing, delivered a stunning betrayal. Without warning, she announced sweeping changes to the very program I was admitted into—changes that completely altered the structure, rigor, and requirements of the degree I had committed to. The Traditional BSN has been scrapped for our cohort. Instead, we are now being forced into an Accelerated BSN format—one that compresses semesters, demands additional online coursework, and even adds an entirely new prerequisite… all after our admissions were finalized and contracts were signed. Let me be clear: This is a classic bait-and-switch. These changes were not disclosed during admissions. There was no transparency, no consideration for students who have planned their careers, finances, and lives around the program as it was presented. When I asked McWilliams why we weren’t informed earlier, her response? That the website had been updated in the last few weeks—implying we should’ve discovered this life-altering information on our own by constantly refreshing a webpage. This isn’t just poor communication. It’s academic negligence. It’s institutional betrayal. And it’s an insult to every student who trusted NAU with their future. NAU’s College of Nursing has proven itself untrustworthy, unorganized, and indifferent to the lives it disrupts. It prioritizes administrative convenience and cost-cutting over student wellbeing. President José Luis Cruz Rivera collects his rising million-dollar salary while students are left to suffer under a crumbling, unstable program. To anyone considering NAU for nursing: Run the other way. There are better programs—programs that respect their students, honor their commitments, and don’t rewrite your future with a single Zoom call. Shame on Suzanne McWilliams. Shame on NAU. We deserve better.
Very beautiful campus! The landscaping is beautiful. The mountain view, breathtaking. There is so much variety in food choices on campus as well as numerous places to walk or bike to off campus.
I am a 2021 Psych grad and had the very best experience I could have hoped for. The professors were amazing, and my academic counselor was exceptional. I am now 11 weeks away from graduating from an MSN program in another state, and I can see the difference between the universities. NAU prepared me for graduate school, and I hope to have the opportunity to teach one of their nursing classes.
Beautiful campus, but we were there for Bands Of America and did not seem like there was one worker around except for concession. Facilities ended up getting over run, running out of toilet paper and paper towels in the restrooms and cleanliness was not kept up in restrooms or around concessions. Trash cans had piles next to them with trash over flowing. It was a great even aside from this.
No help trying to get enrolled, very little communication. Everyone is always on vacation, not available, doesn’t return calls. Got accepted and attempted to use GI Bill and hasn’t gone anywhere. Thanks for wasting my time.
Gorgeous campus. Parking is a little challenging. Bring comfortable walking shoes. You walk everywhere and there's no flat ground.
Great campus, great town, the friendliest people. Loved the layout of the campus and fresh air. Everyone was so helpful and the study programs were hard to beat. Alot going on at the campus. Great school experience.

I am not sure if the Navajo have re-opened it or not, but when this is flowing, it is so amazing. I hope the issues get resolved to make the site accessible but also for it to be maintained and people's property rights respected. It is a tragedy that this isn't something more people get to see in their life, as it is so beautiful and very few people know around the rest of the Untied States and the World even know that it exists.
It would be 5 stars - however, according to the Navajo Bureau of Tourism as of September 2025 = they are still closed. As it is often the sad case = tourists littered and did not respect the sacred ground
The place is closed and here's a bag of reasons why. People are filthy and disrespectful hooligans. What on earth, the discarded trash I found... We should all be doing this. I shouldn't have found so much trash
I’m sure it’s an amazing 5-star site but it’s permanently closed to the public due to littering and tourist not respecting the site. Posting this so others may know just in case, or try to get a closed tag on Google maps.
We drove all the way to Flagstaff from Show Low AZ. To get a computer. But is all they had was a few gaming computer. Nothing for a home office so all in all they didn't have what we were looking for.
...well worth the drive. Just east of Flagstaff. Good road most of the way. Last few miles are rough on cars. Definitely take an SUV or truck. The falls are from the melting snow so best viewed in March thru May. Also known as Chocolate Falls because the water is silty and looks like Chocolate. Easy to find by GPS.
Amazing place to view some giant waterfalls of mountain run off water. It’s free to get in and you just have to drive down a gravel road to get there. I see a lot of people throw their garbage and overloaded the trash cans here so I suggest not cleaning out your car at this location.
I was thankful to see it in March 2015 🥰🥰 soo beautiful and grand 😍 it was scary to see people at the bottom of the falls because i was like how did they get down there 🤣 and yes they was alot of trash on the sides of the falls , it was very sad but to think that they closed it now because of that , its ok 🥰👍 we are soo messy as a society 😝👎

When we visit Flagstaff, Mother Road is a must stop. Always friendly staff, great beer (and cocktail!) selection. We tried the beer margarita slushy and ending up drinking 3 and staying for the live music. You can just tell it is a great place to work. I am surprised it took us so long to review. Oh, and we're from Colorado so we know good beer when we drink it!
As a first-timer I am so glad I stumbled upon Mother Road Brewing Co.! The downtown location is absolutely perfect, and it's an easy and enjoyable spot to find. The moment we arrived, I was impressed by the awesome pet-friendly patio. There was plenty of seating for everyone, and it was great to see so many people enjoying the beautiful Flagstaff weather with their furry friends. The food was a total surprise in the best way. I wasn't expecting such an eclectic and delicious menu from a brewery, but everything we ordered was fantastic. From the flavorful street tacos to the perfectly crispy tater tots, the food was high quality without being ridiculously expensive. And of course, the beer selection was top-notch. They offer a great variety of craft beers, from their core brews to some exciting limited releases. I enjoyed getting to sample a few before settling on my favorite. Before we left, I also had to check out the merch. They have a fantastic offering of gear, and I found the perfect t-shirt to remember my visit. Mother Road Brewing Co. is a definite must-visit in Flagstaff
Headed up to Flagstaff over the weekend and decided to try Mother's Road Brewing and was not disappointed. They offer both indoor and outdoor dining. We chose indor since it was a little too brisk for the littles. I really liked the industrial rustic look and the atmosphere was great. To be honest, at first, we were a bit confused on the menu, but our server explained that we picked the type of entree we wanted, followed by the type of meat/veggie option(topper). I selected the tacos, my husband, the tostada, and my daughter, the hot dog. I LOVED MY TACOS! they were super delicious. The remoulade sauce was my favorite. The butchers belly pork was soft, and the flavor was amazing. My husband said the tostada was a bit difficult to eat, but that's to be expected since the base is crunchy, and every time he took a bite, it would break apart. Otherwise, he said he really enjoyed the flavors. Not complaints from my daughter on the hot dog. Our server was great, except she kept forgetting to get us our refills or waters when asked. We had to remind her a couple of times. I'm not sure if she has to put it through the bar, but that was the only annoying part. Overall, I highly recommend and will definitely be going again.
A food truck inspired BBQ/ Cajun joint on Route 66. The unlikely union works against the backdrop of a brewery featuring AL'S favorite- Tower Station IPA. These guys aren't going national anytime soon, so grab a table on their pet friendly patio as soon as you can.
Pros: Good atmosphere Cons: Unaccommodating menu Sub par beer (tried numerous) Small portion sizes Overall- Only come for a drink, the food ain’t it. My wife is gluten free and asked for no bread and lettuce instead (easy request) they delivered us slop. Please see included photo. Brisket was humiliating. Not worth it with so many breweries in walking distance.
Great, friendly service. Awesome beer selection (with full bar in case you want that). Food was also outstanding. Had tacos and the totchos. Yay
Great stop to make along Route 66 and bonus for being dog friendly! Great options to choose from, and food for order as well! Even with the cooler evening, they have heaters outside to warm you up.
Came here on Halloween evening, and we loved the vibe. All of the staff was super friendly! Shout out to the guy in the penguin costume & whoever was the waiter in the back room on Halloween night (I didn’t get either of their names). We didn’t try the food but the drinks were great! If we ever come back to flagstaff we will definitely be back here.
