Great visit, very friendly staff, clean, beautiful grounds and informative exhibits that have a chronological and fulsome history. Especially enjoyed the "War of firsts" tidbits throughout. Could spend between 20 mins and 3++ hours inside depending how much you wish to read. Also had a nice nook with plenty of books to enjoy if you want to spend longer.
Great exhibits, perfect place to start learning about the acw or to introduce someone to it. Good overview that includes the Western Front as well (rare) though lacking info on overall civilian experience, there is a lot about slavery, emancipation, usct, and Black experience at the time. Beautiful view outside!
Absolutely wonderful ! Loads of research , presentations and audio and visual effects ! Well worth the visit .
It's a great American story; what President Abraham Lincoln did is admirable. Unlike today's administration, which wants to feel like a hero just by talking and giving orders.
It's a very cool place if you have the time to read each wall panel. There are no wow factor artifacts, just cool history.
A great experience but a bit pricey at $17 for seniors. Quality artifacts and well displayed information. Very cold (bring your sweater) and narratives can make it difficult to read. Highly recommend.
An impressive and very well-organized museum. The collection is extensive and covers both the Union and the Confederacy’s perspectives, making it balanced and informative. The exhibits are clearly presented, with original artifacts, documents, and audiovisual displays that bring the era to life. The staff is friendly and always willing to answer questions. A must-visit for anyone interested in history.
Excellent displays with a tremendous array of artifacts. The museum tells the story of all phases of the war.

Obviously, the building was incredibly beautiful and an architectural masterpiece. In addition, the tour guide was extremely informative and was able to answer most questions that we asked, and they remained respectful and thoughtful throughout the tour, and all other workers we encountered were very helpful as well. The gift shop was quite small, but the prices were SO AFFORDABLE! I recommended visting the Capitol, 5 stars!!!
A beautifully crafted building with a huge amount of money spent on its construction, paintings, marbles, glass work, chandeliers, etc. It has three main portions, namely, Senate, House of Common, and Supreme Court. Its floor tiles are individually hand crafted. The tour guide explains everything in many details. One must book the tour in advance, although they entertain one or two odd unbooked people, but i depends upon the already booked slots. On weekdays, one can also attend the sessions in the different houses, including the Supreme Court.
Stopped over the state Capitol this past July after taking my wife & kids to see the Chocolate World in Hershey. Figured what's a few extra miles west to see some historical architecture. We live in the Chicago area and were visiting my dad's side of the family in the Tamaqua area. I've only passed thru Harrisburg on the interstate but never visited the downtown area. Last time I was in PA was 2011 and this trip marked my wife & kids' first visit to the Keystone State. I'm rather impressed with the downtown and Capitol Park area. Kinda makes you think the Burg is a major city but indeed is actually small in land and population. We were actually on a time crunch so we didn't get to walk inside the Capitol building if we're actually even allowed to. My kids weren't all that excited to be here but my wife & I enjoyed walking around the historical complex, the fountain and the park across the street. It was a beautiful day out and a pleasant first experience in the state's capital. Not sure when we'll visit PA again but I'd definitely like stop in town again and explore more.
This is probably one of the best state Capitol buildings you can visit. It is incredibly ornate. Tours are free and while not required, the tour guide may be able to get you into some areas that you wouldn't be able to get into on your own. We had an awesome guide which made it even better. Be sure to stop at the Governors office and the Senate library.
The PA State Capitol is absolutely gorgeous! Interior and exterior feels like I'm transported straight to DC. The Capitol offers free timed tours of the 3 main chambers; PA House, Senate, and Supreme Court. Our tour guide was so impressive with how knowledgeable, personable, and he paced us well to see everything within the 30-45 minutes. The art and architecture of the main rotunda and the chambers were incredible. I honestly would have been more than happy if I paid for a tour like that, let alone a free tour open to the general public. Big props to our guide for the 1pm tour, Monday July 14th.
This is one of the best capitols in USA. Lots of money spend in the construction, beautiful fascinating stunning chandelier in the chambers. Floor tiles are awesome U feel transported in the era kings and queens seems u are in rich palace The interiors are amazing gold leaf work is done in the entire building. Tours are free if possible book in advance It shows 3 chambers Supreme court, senate, house of common Outside-is big fountain Every part of building is beautifully done Worth visiting
Definitely one of the most beautiful capitol buildings I've been to. Parking was easy to find. They have a welcome center and a gift shop.
Beautiful historial building! Today I represented my fellow Community Health Workers, advocating for better funding and sharing our passion for helping the underserved communities in PA.

Today, I attended the 2025 PA Home + Garden Show. If you just purchased a home, are looking to upgrade or transform your home, or maybe add some curbside appeal, you need to visit this show. It is a one-stop shop for remodeling or upgrading your home. As a garden enthusiast and houseplant parent, I was disappointed with the many home remodeling options, but there were not enough gardens. I’m thankful to see the presence of local businesses like Ashcombe Fern Mobile Plant Shop, the Palmyra Mobile Greenhouse, and, new to me, Seymour’s Apothecary & Plant Boutique. Definitely, a fun day one stop shop learning about business in Central PA
I attend the yearly Standardbred Horse Sale at the Farm Show Building/Complex every November ... It's always a fun several days ... I lived in Harrisburg for several years in the '80s, and even attended a high school basketball game in the large arena - the horse sale is held in the small arena - as well as the Farm Show itself ... Nice facility ... and less dusty than it used to be. 😉 (The horse sale used to be held in the large arena in, like, the '60s and earlier, I believe ...)
Always a good time, free admission, and $15 parking. Got to meet a legendary chef and watch a demonstration. I also got my free recipe book signed. There are so many vendors for almost everything, and this complex is enormous. There are so many food choices. Also, animals are everywhere. It is so much fun. I highly recommend going every year!
Excellent facility...My only suggestion is to create a grazing area for the horses.
I look forward to the Farm Show every year. From enjoying the delicious 🥤milkshakes to seeing the cows and goats, it’s always such a fun experience to share with family and friends. The farmers’ passion and love for their animals is truly contagious, making it an event I look forward to 😄🐄🐐🐓
Open farmer's market every tuesday and Friday, great selection of fruits vegetables at good prices.
Fun day with my sister. Highly recommend going early because the place is huge & lots to see!! We parked in HACC lot and got shuttled right to the door. Very convenient instead of driving all around looking for a spot. Parking was $15. Free shuttle and entrace to farm show. Went on a Saturday. It was very busy! But, everyone there was friendly & seemed in a good mood. The food lines were very long, but moved quickly. Highly recommend the cider donuts & cheese cubes!!! Yum! Milkshakes are overrated. They taste just like McDonald's, nothing special. The pierogies & potato pancakes were also very good. We were a little disappointed that they ran out of sour cream, but it was the last day. The owners of the animals were very knowledgeable and answered all of your questions. You can get up close and touch all the animals. Over all ~ fun day! Next time, I think I'd like to see the rodeo.
First time at the Farm Show despite living for years in the State. Lots of fun. Shuttles worked great and there was plenty of great foods. And of course, the animals. Coming back next year for longer.

Tons of parking spots around here, you can probably park for up to two hours. But nobody pays attention to that. And that bridge is handy, you can walk right into downtown.
A great place to be when you are in Harrisburg. I have visited this location many times. A quite place with lots of families walking around, relaxing. Are is large. There is a beer house and mini golf course. FNB field stadium is right in the middle. The bridge to this place from Harrisburg is a delightful walk for many, especially in the evenings. There are some unsafe pockets in the island you may see some homeless people walking around. There are mesmerizing views you may get on Harrisburg skyline.
I've been coming here on Labor Day weekend with the Native American Festival for nearly 20 years to meet old and new friends. It's a great weekend of dancing, open fire cooking demonstrations, and tomahawk throwing. The ice cream shop and train ride is also popular with the kids. Stop and visit our camp during this fun filled weekend.
Time has really made this place dilapidated. FNB Field and Water Golf are the only things keeping this place alive. The parking lot is super deteriorated along with the wall and mural. There are a few safety hazards in the children’s play area. Sad to see things overgrown and abandoned.
So great for walks! There’s a loop around the island, there’s seating and a bar by the water, a ferry, food vendors, tons of wildlife, and of course the views of the water cannot be beat!
Under construction nothing was really open, I remember when there use to be shops and vendors. I guess now it's just a walking and biking circle. Mini golf was open and the train was still running.
I like city island, and I'm here for biking/Senators somewhat regularly. But the parking is pretty terrible anymore... There are around 20 parking spaces (1/2 are handicap) usable for guests up to 2 hours. In the summer those spots will be full 100% of the time.
We love visiting City Island for the Ballpark! The parking is always a little wild so we choose to park over in Harrisburg city and wall across the bridge which is always a nice walk. Looking over the river, especially at night it's beautiful with the bridges lit up. City Island is always kept so clean and aside from the Ballpark there's so much to do to get you and your family outdoors!

Found this scenic trail hike, best place to unwind and relax in. Must be more beautiful when flowers bloom ☺️ Dogs are allowed, however they must be leashed at all times. Restrooms are available in both north and south checkpoints (where parking lots are). I find it interesting that the Wildwood Way Trail offers unique artworks to admire. With that being said, make sure to bring water and enjoy the hike!
Very well maintained and beautiful place for a hike with dogs! There's a variety of paved to primitive trails and the maps online as well as posted at the park make it easy to choose a path appropriate for you. We saw so many birds, turtles and frogs! It's really nice that there are benches placed periodically on the trails, especially at great places to stop and take in the view. I hiked here alone with my dogs and felt very safe.
Beautiful park in the middle of a busy area. The trails are amazing, you can tell they do a lot of up keep especially with Fox Run trail (with the wooden planks) and the multiple boardwalk sections. The different trials also give a lot of terrain variety for running/walking. Will definitely be going back to do 1 trail I didn't get to run and to enjoy all the stunning nature.
It's a nice trail in a natural woody area with changing color trees, birds chirping in the neighborhood of busy highways. The Paxton Creek along the trail adds to the calming effects. My dog and I had a great visit on a beautiful Fall Saturday afternoon.
It is a beautiful place! Quiet serene an the perfect place to get away for a bit, definitely a place your family would enjoy, or a place for a stroll with your sweetheart, if you in area an have time check it out!
This is a super chill park. Some picnic and grilling areas. 2 marsh boardwalks. Some observation decks. Had a good time walking around and exploring. Wish I had checked out the Nature center but oh well🤷‍♂️
Too much noise from traffic. Whole park needs cleaned up a bit. Overall a nice place to take a walk and see some nature.
Probably my favorite nature site in all of Harrisburg. Everyday rest assured you’re going to see some fascinating animal or another. 3.1 mile loop with a mix of mulch, paved, and dirt paths.

Beautiful area along the Susquehanna, just north of the city of Harrisburg. Lots of room for the little ones to run around and explore. There is a restroom and also a small playground. For the adults, some interesting history and lots of areas to walk or sit down and enjoy nature.
Fort Hunter Park home of the Fort Hunter Mansion is a beautiful park along the Susquehanna River in Harrisburg. You can book a 45 minute tour of the mansion for about $9. We thought the tour was worth it. The mansion overlooks the river. The park itself has bathrooms, a playground, benches and swings that overlook the river. It's a lovely area and worth a visit.
20250518 WOW! I drove by many times while on vacation, and I can't believe I didn't stop here. This park is dogfriendly, but not in the buildings. The mansion and playground is across the street, by the river, with a beautiful view. There is a picnic area by the covered bridge. Several historical buildings. This park is very clean. I will stop here again.
My husband and I did the Brewfest on the grounds of the Fort Hunter Mansion and Park today. First time doing the Brewfest here and it was a lot of fun. The park and grounds are super nice. There is such a beautiful view of the river. We also got to tour the inside of the Mansion because it was included in our admission price. The tour guides were very nice inside and answered all our questions. The Mansion is absolutely beautiful! It is a great place to visit for some history.
Love visiting here with my family and my dog. Beautiful views of the river & there is a wide variety of plants, trees, and wildlife. We enjoy walking within the park or down the paved path parallel to the river.
Beautiful mansion and outbuildings. Great history. Liz our tour guide was so informative and friendly. Wish we had sooner!
Awesome place to take photo shoots, relax and enjoy the scenery of the Susquehanna, watch the trains rumbling past, take a walk through the grounds, and learn some history.
Go here all the time to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature 👍 I love the fact that I can get there on my bicycle from the Greenbelt👍😎

Took the kids (5 and 8)here to explore and observe. They seemed entertained and we easily spent most of the day here. They really enjoyed the hands-on sections throughout the Museum.
so fun and you’ll definitely spend 2+ hours here! there is so much to see and also hands-on activities for kids, as well as plenty of souvenirs from the shop in the main lobby. it was super interesting and i’ll definitely be recommending!
Excellent history museum that has something for everyone in the family. The rich history, cultural and natural wonders of the state are on display here. One of my favorite galleries was the wildlife gallery with the natural dioramas of some of the iconic PA wildlife.
Not a sprawling museum as described, more of a mid-sized museum with a large amount of closed displays. I would describe it as ok. Some very interesting items but very disorganized. The middle aged gift shop attendant sprawled out ,feet up playing on her cell phone never acknowledged that we were even there. It left me feeling like she was bored to tears. Very strange vibe. There is enough space in this museum for many many more displays and it truly felt lackluster.
Great museum, especially for only $7. This was my second time visiting. We started with a 4th grade and above planetarium show which was awesome, about twenty minutes, and only $4. The top floor has the planetarium, some of the coolest natural history exhibits I’ve ever seen, the biggest mastodon Skelton from PA, and a walk through exhibit of the Allegheny forest millions of years ago, complete with huge bugs and scaly trees. Very cool. The gift shop has mostly reasonable prices and many cool PA souvenirs, including some pretty, locally made wooden earrings (which I picked up for myself and some family members).
Absolutely fantastic museum. I loved the civil rights area videos showing how the community felt about the family moving in etc. The things they had to overcome sadly back then. The interstate history with all the cars and how the turnpike came to be was my favorite. The animal display was also nice. Very clean and very good experience. I was impressed more than I expected to be. Very nice museum. Multiple floors and very friendly staff as well! Also the prices for tickets are very cheap which makes it even better. Including 3 hour parking, we spent only about $30 for 2 adults.
Admission is $7, and the museum spans four floors of diverse history. From Native American exhibits to classic vehicles, and from animals to wildlife displays, there’s something here to capture everyone’s interest
It is a very large museum with 4 floors with many artifacts about the state of Pennsylvania. We spent 3 hours there and barely scratched the surface. Many historical facts with lots of detail about the importance of Pennsylvania to the forming and supporting the union. The natural historical part had some nice samples of animals that roamed Pennsylvania. The industrial had a lengthy list of contributions that the state made to propel the nation to its current status. Overall, it is worth a visit. A very good place for a family to spend an afternoon exploring the past of this great state.

Such a fun, neat place for kids to learn about how things work. Came for a field trip with my son's class and everyone seemed to have a blast! The place was clean and organized. Staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend checking it out if you have kids. Or just want to learn.
So much fun!! I remember going here as a kid so It was fun to take my two kids and neice. We all had a fantastic time just as I had remembered ☺️
This a fun little cultural center/semi-museum that adds liveliness to Downtown Harrisburg. The science center exhibits excel at exemplifying concepts in a way palatable to young minds. The gift shop is neat too, holding the typical assortment of museum souvenirs such as rock candies, plastic claw grabber things, and those lollipops with arachnids embedded into them.
Neither of my kids enjoyed the experience. I'm pretty upset about it. It seemed more like a daycare than a museum. I couldn't wait to take my little ones because it used to be so cool, or maybe I was just young because I know nothing at all is different. Anyway, we will never return. $60 entry for 4, plus $12 if you use the garage for a pointless experience. My little one's handled the boredom well.
The grandkids had a great time. 4 stars because some of the computer systems did not work or froze when you tried to use them. The folio exhibit went into the spinning wheel of death when we tried to record sound effects. The race cars were handled so much we had a hard time finding pieces that would stay together. Other than that, it is very educational. The 3D TRex movie was great.
Great place to see a show. Warm ambiance, comfy seats, and intimately small so you feel close to the action. All seats have a good view. The staff is very helpful and eager to locate your seats and help you feel comfortable. We particularly enjoy the view from the mezzanine. Easy to get to from I-81 and I-83 and a parking garage conveniently located on premises.
For over ten years, Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts has been a cornerstone of our family’s journey. From introducing my kids to the wonders of science to creating magical family memories, this incredible institution has been so much more than a place to visit—it’s been a partner in raising curious, creative, and passionate children. A Place to Grow My oldest child practically grew up in the Little Learners program, where he not only discovered his love for science but also gained a sense of independence that has shaped him into the person he is today. Fast forward a decade, and he’s now a full-fledged STEM enthusiast who loves explaining science concepts to anyone who will listen (including me, though I try to keep up!). Whitaker Center’s impact hasn’t stopped there. For my seven-year-old, who has some additional needs, the staff’s ability to meet him exactly where he is has been nothing short of extraordinary. Seeing him thrive in this environment makes my heart burst with gratitude. And then there’s my five-year-old—Whitaker Center has practically turned him into an evil scientist-in-training (in the best way possible!). He’s always up to something inventive, inspired by their hands-on exhibits and programs. Now, my youngest, who’s almost three, is getting her turn. Watching her explore sensory play, art, and science like her brothers before her is a joy I didn’t know I needed. A Constant in Changing Times Beyond their stellar programs and workshops, Whitaker Center has shown an unwavering commitment to our community. During the pandemic, when life felt so uncertain, they collaborated with our homeschool group to offer both virtual and outdoor learning opportunities. These experiences not only kept my kids engaged but also provided a sense of normalcy that was invaluable for all of us. Their outreach extends far beyond our family. Programs like Museum Access ensure that all families, regardless of financial circumstances, can experience the magic of science, art, and culture. Whitaker Center brings the community together through incredible events and celebrations, reminding us of the joy in shared experiences. More Than a Destination Whitaker Center isn’t just a place to visit; it’s a partner in raising the next generation of thinkers, dreamers, and creators. From summer camps and special events to awe-inspiring exhibits, they’ve enriched our lives in countless ways. And it’s not just the kids who benefit—watching their faces light up as they discover something new is a gift for me as a parent. Why We Support Whitaker Center We’ve been members every year, attended countless programs, and even written letters of support because we believe in what Whitaker Center represents: a commitment to education, creativity, and community. They’ve given us so much over the years, and we are honored to give back however we can. If you’ve never been to Whitaker Center, let me tell you—there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re watching a show in the Sunoco Performance Theater, exploring hands-on exhibits in the UPMC Science Center, or catching a breathtaking film in the Select Medical Digital Cinema, you’ll leave inspired. For my family, Whitaker Center has been a decade-long adventure, and I’m grateful for every moment they’ve given us. Here’s to many more years of learning, growing, and discovering together.
Initially came to this area for Hershey park, but that plan got washed out with thunder storms...so I needed a indoor activity getaway and Whitaker Center for Science worked out great it's a large facility with plenty of things to do ranging from IMAX theatre and three floors of hand's on learning exhibits in many areas of Science that will keep everyone entertained from toddler to adults! They even have a Hurricane chamber! Which was awesome! While it's no Hershey park it's still a great all day event especially on those stormy weather day's!

You can never go wrong with a boat ride especially when it’s a Riverboat. The inside of the river is amazing and beautiful. There is the bottom level and the top deck you can look out from. They do sell drinks during the tour as well. The staff are amazing and the boat is very clean. Parking may be an issue if there is a baseball game at the time of your tour.
It was nice. This is my second ride on the cruise. The first was for an All White Party (clothing) an ex coworker of mine threw a few years back. The second was the Juneteenth 2023 cruise. The guest speakers and the live entertainment was delightful. My only disappointment was the refreshments and the worker that was tending to the spread. I watched her touch every single cookie and cake that she placed on the table with her bare hands. No gloves and no sanitizer in sight. That was disgusting and unprofessional to say the least.
Awesome Boat ride and lots of information about the great Susquehanna River. A must do if in the area. We booked our tickets in advance but can get them at the location too. There are drinks and snacks available on board. Parking is tricky keep on driving the loopty loop till you see parking for boat ride and don't park far away. Overall great experience and will be back.
Very relaxing fun experience. Captain and crew were welcoming and friendly. Music venue was relaxing and fun. We went on the sightseeing tour with music provided. Make sure you don't go on a game night! Parking for the dock shares a roadway with the stadium.
We drove from Strasburg, VA to experience this and I am so glad we did. It was very relaxing and my son and I enjoyed the view very much! I wish it was longer but honestly it was perfect! I will be recommending this to all of my friends and I would also love to come back with my boyfriend! 10/10.
Dinner cruise was great. Murder mystery and a meal. Staff was fantastic. The show was entertaining and energetic. The food.. Average. Go for the show and make sure you send time on the top deck. The night is beautiful in the river.
Not very exciting, travels up river for 30 minutes and 15 minutes back. They do have an interesting talk that plays during part of the ride. The flags on the side of the boat are distracting from the view and the interior is dated. Luckily it was a nice day and we could enjoy the weather from the bow and the top deck by the stern.
A glorious ride on a tiny riverboat. Dinner was okay, but my whole meal was ice cold, along with my best friends meal. Our husbands meals were hot. Not the river boats fault but the fall foliage didn't exist. That was kinda funny, all in all it was okay.

Great bar and food. Lots of space and interesting people. Wide selection of locally brewed beer. There is a large parking lot.
Absolutely loved this place. Michael provided a warm welcome and great guidance on the beers available. Had 2 local IPAs. One of the best chicken sandwiches I have ever eaten. The type of place you would love to live close to. Lots of regulars at the bar. Was a very happy Irishman leaving.
Great lunch experience here. Bartender was super helpful and friendly. Chicken Caesar salad was great. Beers were solid - the Sigma Oasis was my favorite. First brewery ever to give me a tiny ginger beer glass to “cleanse the palate” between beers. I dig the design of the taster glasses too. Only negative is that it seemed a little sketchy walking here from downtown in mid-afternoon. Wouldn’t do it alone at night, even as a relatively large adult male.
I came here late one night for a bite to eat while on a business trip. Really enjoyed the character of the building and the atmosphere inside. The drinks and food, especially my burger, was awesome! The sauce that came with the fries was super good too! Highly recommend visiting here if you have not been.
Great brewery! Good food, nice drinks, and attentive staff.
Great place for lunch or a quick beer when in the PA capital city. Spacious interior, pleasant atmosphere and tasty, reasonably priced food make this a great spot to take friends and family. Not as many beer offerings as many of the other local breweries and most of those are IPAs but what they do offer are fresh and delicious. Definitely would return.
Great service, fabulous food and friendly staff. I strongly recommend the Mile High Meatloaf, Pierogies and the Elephant Ear Dessert. My only dislike is the diet soda, the taste of stevia is a bit strong.
Awesome spot. They have great selection of locally brewed beer and I think they also have a distillery there so you can order cocktails with their rum, vodka, bourbon, etc. I’ve ordered sour beer, and my wife had Scottish ale. Both were good. We also had The Original Harrisburger and Rockfish Tacos. Pretty tasty although I would’ve included some additional ingredients in the tacos. We also had maple bacon cheesecake for dessert. I know it sounds like a weird combination but it was yummy! Staff was very nice and welcoming.

The State Museum of Pennsylvania traces the region’s history, while lively pubs and eateries serving sushi, tacos, and Indian food line 2nd Street. Pedestrians and cyclists cross the Walnut Street Bridge to City Island for a beach, mini-golf, and minor league baseball.

Had a great time at the game. All of the staff I encountered were friendly and professional. Plenty of food options to choose from.
I’ve been attending games on City Island since I was a kid in the 1980s and 1990s. So many fond memories. I still come to games each summer, at least a couple each year, and always have a blast. Harrisburg is lucky to have the Senators and such a great location for a minor league ballpark on City Island. There’s been a number of restorations and renovations done to the ballpark over the years, but it has only gotten better and improved the experience each time. Come out for a game, some peanuts and beer, and of course the mayflies (IYKYK). 👍🏼 I also have taken my son out to “Scout Nights” at the ballpark when he was younger. We always had a blast. The novelty of getting to be out in the field was something the young kids always got a kick out of.
Received a voucher for basic seats for a Senators game from Central PA Blood Bank for donating blood. I was able to upgrade to regular box seats for only $8. I haven't seen a game in some time, so was looking forward to it. Unfortunately I didn't realize that $1 hot dog night was such a draw and just really made the concession stands just a wait in line nightmare. The Senators weren't having a goodnight either so we were thankful when a random rainbow brightened the event. I'll give it another try on a less busy night. We had great seats at least.
Wonderful baseball park in Harrisburg! The fans were very engaged and the fireworks show at the end was amazing! Lots of food and drink options. The poutine was amazing! There's a bar on the lower level behind first base.
Went here for my first Senators game, got the mayor's suite, almost caught a ball and almost got bopped in the head with a foul ball a couple times LOL but it was great!! Fireworks after were lovely!!
Great place to watch a game the staff at every spot was friendly and helpful. Wish more of the kids area and other attractions were open, but overall a great experience.
Solid stadium for AA. The amenities are decent but could be improved. The signage is not great and you might end up in some utilities corner if you're not careful. It's in a really cool location that they don't quite take advantage of. View of the field is great. Fans are good.
Great time on thirsty Thursday! $2 bush lights, can’t go wrong. This is a great venue for the family. Lots of food and activities for everyone! Team is playing well, we had a great win!

First and foremost- i transferred my lease from neighboring River Plaza, and management made a transfer very easy and affordable for us. We have been very happy with our first-floor 2br apartment here, Very affordable, good location: close enough to the city to cheaply uber downtown for a night out, but far enough that it's decently safe. We have central air, which is a HUGE perk for this price point. Laundry rooms are every couple buildings, and they run off an app so it isn't far to do laundry and no lugging quarters around. The ONLY con I have is that the apartments, specifically the kitchen and bathroom are a little small, but that's just a personal preference, I have a lot of stuff and cook a lot. Maintenance has been very responsive and friendly, usually coming the same day. Generally, I'd reccomend these apartments. Good for a single person, a couple or a small family for sure.
I have only lived at Riverfront Park Apartments a 2 years everything is great! The apartment building and grounds are all in excellent shape. The management staff and maintenance have all been courteous, friendly, and professional. The neighbors are quiet. Over all a great place to live so far they offer good Deals that help on my rent price!
We have lived here for years now and have had issue after issue. The apartments are not worth the rent they ask. We have had issues with mold, roaches, bed bugs, foul smells coming from the vents, not being able to get into the office since it is closed as often as it is open and temporary fixes being done to some major repair issues. Management will tell you that they will fix whatever problem you are having, but it's just to placate you and get you to shut up. So unprofessional that it isn't even funny! When we wanted out of our lease due to a bed bug infestation in the building, we were told we would have to pay rent for the remainder of our lease! Never mind if you have paid rent on time for years and have one month where it has to be late. Get ready to go to court! We have never been late on rent, never had a complaint against us and that does not make a difference to them. It is impossible to legally move from here as they require 3 months notice and you paying off the remainder of your lease. That means you must pay to have an apartment held for you elsewhere while paying rent here. The lease will automatically renew without your consent or signatures, as well. Please really look past the nice façade of these apartments before signing a lease, or you too will be stuck here!
I lived here for three years and I recently moved out because I felt like it was the best thing to do. When I first moved in I was supposed to get a first floor apartment due to my health issues but they gave me a second floor apartment which I had no choice but to take. I was told that when a first floor apartment was available I could get one and ofcorse that never happened. Even when the guy downstaires moved out I still wasn't offered a first floor even though they had my doctors note stating I could do No steps. Then I had a issue with another tenant being giving a key that unlocked my apartment and his. Yes you heard correctly and when I brought it to the managers attention she stated it wasn't her fault it was the place they get locks from fault. I lived at 2617 b and the guy at 2717 b key unlocked both are doors that should tell you something. The thing that made me move out was my emotional support pitbull puppy that the office had a doctors note for before I got my dog the harassing letters about my dog being a pitbull which an emotional support dog can be any type of animal. My dog was never off the leash but I got harassing letters that she was. Also I moved out may 31 and I still haven't received my security deposit and I left the apartment spotless and it only had minor wear and tear. The reason for me not getting my deposit back is because the owner is on vacation but that's violating state law. Also lets not forget the mice problem not only in the WINTER but the SUMMER time to.
Wish I could give -100 stars they denied me last week for eviction from 2004!!!! Rental application ask for 3 years of rental. Not 16 years! Life happens! I have great rental history now but iI found out that it's illegal contacted a lawyer! Sm
I'm giving S&S properties Riverfront apartments Green st. 5plus stars. Looking for a place to live is hard enough, but I must share this experience. I love a quiet area to live. Where people work for a living. I'm sooo happy to go to this apartment complex. Caitlyn Fisher ( manager). Is definitely a step above. She is committed to what she does. Caitlyn and her team. Jack, Jamal and Bebop the maintenance men. Really believe in what they do for a living. They will go all the way to make sure you a very happy in the apartment you are living in. Since I became interested in this apartment Catliyn has bend over hand and foot to make sure I get it the way I want it. Meaning from a slice in a screen etc.Are just spending time in telling me about the upcoming things that are being done here. Catliyn is very knowledgeable in this property as well as the maintenance men with all the skills needed and then some. I felt as if I was part of a great team. The person who cleans the apartment does an outstanding job as well. I'm sorry I didn't get her name. But you are so appreciated also. I know I will be very happy here because of all the great people who works here. Thanks Catliyn for having such a wonderful team. And Thanks S&S Properties for believing in what you do. It makes a different. 😘😍😉😎
It took 3 months for them to fix my kitchen sink the only reason they finally fixed was the next day they had an inspection. The ceiling fan in my kitchen nevet worked. The place was filthy when I moved In. I never lived anywhere so bad. Oh the lady be that rented it to me spoke no English when I needed something fixed
Caitlin and Lindsey are the best. They really helped me through this pandemic; they were patient, understanding and helped me apply for rental assistance. I love my apartment!

Reserved a pavilion for a party. Went well. We were able to bring our own catered food, but they also had a BBQ food truck onsite that my guests could try. Drinks were great esp the Lavender Lemonade. Kids were able to play nearby as well. Would reserve again.
They don't allow outside food which is fine but only ever have only 1 food truck with 10 to 15 plus in line which moves very slow. Tip, eat before you go.
Some family and i came for the Fall Fest this past Saturday but we weren’t impressed, sadly. For starters, we got there at 4pm and there were no vendors left. We ordered drinks and bought wine but the one single gentleman was overwhelmed at the counter while others were polishing glasses rather than helping, so it took a while. Lastly, we thought it might be nice to sit out at a fire pit, so we asked the bartender in the brewery to light one for us and it turns out the only 2 open fire pits did not have any propane in them. If you organize a “Fall Fest” on a cold weekend, probably want to make sure all fire pits are operational. Never ran into these issues when it was Spring Gate and i hope things get better honestly.
What a wonderful hidden gem! I just spent the day at this place and it could have been a day in Napa or Bordeaux. A wide variety of spaces to sit out in the sun or under the shade trees. A wide variety of wines and drinks to choose from. A wide variety of food trucks to choose from. I could spend the summer just hanging out listening to music. Thanks to the owners for creating this relaxing space.
It would have been nice to know they stopped serving wine flights after 5pm. But the cider we had was delicious the pumpkin spice warm. Chefs kiss that was delicious and I can't wait to try the sticky bun! Stop on out and check this place out. They also had a food truck that was Tacos and come check them out too!!
We came here for the strawberry festival. This winery is very beautiful, it's on a large bit of land with multiple outdoor sitting area and fireplaces. There is a tasting room inside. The facilities were clean and the staff friendly. I wish the girl I spoke too was a little more knowledgeable about the wine selection. There were three delicious food trucks and a few live bands, it was a nice evening. At night they have cute lights throughout the winery as well. The parking situation was a bit rough getting in and out of when crowded for the event as parking was limited.
Generally an overall nice place very large seem like a lot of stuff to do many different drinks and wines available. I went on a Saturday afternoon unfortunately it was a rainy one. The place had a lot of signs and rules, probably because people drink and get in trouble. Staff were not rude but not friendly I felt like I was an inconvenience every time I ordered something. They had bands and food trucks.
We had a wonderful time when we booked a private event at Royal Winery. The staff were very friendly, attentive and accommodating. We would definitely consider hosting future events there as well.

Came here on a weekend while visiting Harrisburg. It was later in the afternoon, so wasn't crowded and plenty of open tables. There's a nice selection of different cuisines to choose from. You basically order from whatever restaurant you want and find any open table in the common area. It's mostly restaurants, but there's a bar and ice cream shop. There's something for everyone.
Not a "Farmer's Market" but food stalls for various vendors offering a variety of cultural cuisines and coffee stalls. Offers indoor and outdoor seating as well as standing tables on the shade outside. Easy access for wheelchairs. Plenty of parking in and around the area.
This place is small but amazing. It has two parts to it. One side has all types of different foods and one beer spot, one wine spot, and one coffee spot. The other side has more dessert.
Great variety of food options. It's a great place to visit if you're in the mood for something different. The Korean kimchi noodles were delicious. The Jamaican jerk chicken looked great, nice dark char, but I didn't get to try it on this visit. Gives me reason to come back. Zeroday has a spot for beers and on the backside of their location was a Meadery, selling pours and bottles. It's a little hot inside, but there are a bunch of fans. Try to grab a seat by a fan if possible.
Tried the African cuisine stand, and it was GREAT! They have a spicy sauce that he put just a dab on the side. I tried it cautiously, and it was fantastic! I I had them add a larger spoonful on the side, and VERY carefully applied a tiny amount to each bite. It has a BIG flavor and burn that build up! The couple running the stand were delightful!
Two great buildings, one with a variety of international prepared foods. You name it, it's there. (We had the authentic Mexican). Across the street you will find even more artisans in both prepared and fresh foods, vegetables, and meats. Good quality stuff. Get you some!
Broad Street Market has been a Harrisburg staple for decades and is a true gem. A wide variety of foods from Haitian, Mexican, Asian, etc - not to mention plant-based ice cream, coffee as well as baked goods and fresh produce! I l really hope they get the new building up before summer 2026. I love this place!
My daughter went to the market. I waited in the car because I had an injured foot and it's so small inside that tent. I didn't want to risk someone stepping on my foot. But we like the rotisserie chicken, the soft pretzels, the salads and other foods and baked goods! The market is not what it use to be before the fire! Many of the venders are no longer there for the fresh produce and meat! It's not what it use to be! And it is very expensive now!

It is all volunteers that give you tours and tell you the history. There are many interactive parts to it and it's very educational.
Very historic place. When we first walked in we were greeted by a very knowledgeable volunteer staff member. They went over a ton of history of the fire department and would answer any questions that we had. They had a nice size gift shop in the back with lots of things to choose from at very reasonable prices. If highly recommend checking out this very cool spot of history and support them in keeping it alive!
If you are involved in the fire service and anywhere near Harrisburg...do yourself the honor of visiting the Pennsylvania Fire Museum! You will not be sorry! The alarm room is amazing all by itself! The staff, all volunteer, do an excellent job of making you welcome and educating on the history of the museum. Very cool and very well done...right down to the horse poop on floor!!!
Nice spot to check out in Harrisburg. The staff was very friendly and gave us a great history lesson. Lots of neat things to see. Will be back again.
The Pennsylvania National Fire Museum is a very important testament to time and of history of not only the local Harrisburg PA fire department but the fire department in general as a whole from its humble beginnings and where it started to what it has become over the years all the way up to today. I recently visited with my wife and kids, and we had a great time exploring all there is to look at. Whether you want to explore for yourself or have someone show you around they will accommodate you. When we went it was on a Saturday, so I figured there would be more people there but there was not. The museum does apparently run at least partly on the admission fees and or donations from the public so your visit would not only be interesting and fun for you for whoever you go with but go toward a good cause as well. The museum is also very well laid out, the pictures speak for themselves. It is also filled with many fire-department artifacts, and they even let the kids and I ring the bell in the bell tower before we left.
I took my husband to this museum because he's a firefighter and loves everything about the history. We were greeted by a nice gentleman and we talked for a while. It was a self guided tour but the guy was knowledgeable and answered any of our questions we had. There was a couple hands on exhibits and the place was amazing! I would highly recommend this museum for history and fireman buffs alike. I can't express enough of how good of experience we had with this museum. Also it has an elevator and its wheel chair accessible.
The museum itself is in an over 100 year old firehouse. They have artifacts from the man pulled days all the way up to modern day. Upstairs is a very well done room showing how the old alarm system worked. They have several fire trucks on display in the back room. The staff is very informative and helpful. Also has a nice gift shop to end your trip through the museum. A must visit if you're in the area!
We went on Saturday morning, they had a boy scout group and some extra people but the volunteers still made sure felt welcomed especially barry. He explained everything well gave us some extra information. The exhibits was greatly created informative and had some fun local history but firehouse, firefighters, and tools used by them in general. It was even more crazy with them getting ready for the st. Patty parade and taking one their trucks out to parade. So it was def a cool sight. Again barry popped up gave us more information about trucks and answered questions we had. We paid twenty bucks was a Great value for the museum. Def amazing place for the value. The place was clean, informative and great for all families.
