The top of hotaka ridge line. We can clearly see the routes from Yarigadake, and Nishihotaka, and it's very spectacular! When looking down, Kamikochi is so beautiful and locates just beside us. What a amazing place!
(Translated by Google) It is the highest peak in the Hotaka Mountain Range and also the highest peak in the Northern Alps. When I was looking at the view from Mt. Hotakadake after traversing Mt. Kitahotaka, I was honestly tired and pressed for time, so I wasn't sure whether to climb or not, but once I got to the top, I felt a deep emotion and was glad I had climbed it. I sincerely thought Once you get past the first traffic jam zone, the route is not too difficult and you can reach the summit in less than an hour.
(Translated by Google) If you're in good condition, you can do it as a day trip, but the peak is on a ridgeline of about 3000 meters. For safety reasons, it's best to stay overnight. It's a great spot for a spectacular 360-degree view. (Original) 健脚なら日帰りも可能ですが、3000級の稜線上にある頂です。安全に配慮し宿泊での登山が良いです。360度の大絶景ポイントです。
(Translated by Google) Located on the border between Gifu and Nagano prefectures, it is the third highest mountain in Japan at an altitude of 3,190m. The mountain seen from Kamikochi. There is a nice compass at the top of the mountain. Huge cairns measuring approximately 3 meters are stacked up, making it the second tallest in Japan, but it is not officially recognized. The most common route is to go from Kamikochi along the Azusa River to Yokoo and then Karasawa, and according to the mountain climbing map, the course time is about 10 hours, with an overnight stop along the way. From the summit, you can enjoy spectacular views of Mt. Yarigatake and the peaks of the Northern Alps, as well as Mt. Fuji, the Southern Alps, the Central Alps, Yatsugatake, Mt. Asama, Mt. Hakusan, and Mt. Ontake. 2024.08.01. The main peak of the Hotaka Mountains, The view from the top of the mountain is a 360 degree panoramic view that will make you forget all the hard work and fatigue it took to get there. It's great when it's sunny, but I was running out of gas when I climbed, so it wasn't the best, but I still can't complain. (Translated by Google) It is the highest peak in the Northern Alps (altitude 3190m) Near the top, there are cairns stacked about 3 meters high, and there is also a shrine at the top. Apparently, the cairn was built artificially because it was frustrated that it was inferior to Mt. Kitadake in the Southern Alps in terms of altitude. (Mr. Jutaro Imai, who built Hotakadake Mountain Villa) From the viewpoint of Hotakadake Mountain Lodge, it is a fairly difficult rock climb, so if you are not used to it, we recommend climbing in pairs with an experienced climber. After climbing, if the weather is good, a spectacular view awaits you. (You can clearly see Mt. Yarigatake.) The summer mountain season is great, but you can also enjoy a different view of the snowy landscape during the spring season when the mountains open.

Most Difficult Hike me so far. 3rd Highest in Japan(3190m). Dakesawa route is difficult but Karasawa is easy. Plan and study before you climb.
Beautiful, rugged, intense, overpowering nature at 3,000+ meters. Okuho is dangerous and difficult to climb. Please only attempt if you are an experienced hiker and are not afraid to risk your life on the slopes. Chains, ladders, scrambling rocks right next to sheer cliffs. Wear a helmet.
Great views and incredible clouds to walk through
Cold, windy, and you’ll prob need to only look up and firm hands to go up; and a low cg to come down. Top was nice!!!! Donated some ;)))
29.03.2023 Breathtaking views of snow alps
This mountain is the third highest in Japan. Of course trekking course is so hard. so need training for climbing. It takes 9 hours from Kamikochi to the top.
Well organised cable cars, beautifully view and frequent buses running to and from surrounding towns
Such a lovely and nice and beautiful place the total Kamikochi is.

Karasawadake (2,633m) is the final peak of the ridge that branches off from Gakidake to the northwest. The summit is filled with granite blocks and gravel, Dicentra blooms between the Japanese pines, and striated soil can be seen. The triangulation point is at the western end, overlooking Takase Dam and close to the mountains of the Ura-Ginza course. There aren't that many people.
