Absolutely gorgeous. Ate my first Bake and Shark meal! Delicious! I will never forget the day I spent here. Definitely worth the visit and the drive is part of the experience!
Absolutely stunning views! Delicious food and yummy treats and drinks!!! Back n Shark with garlic sauce out of this world!! 😊
Leave early (morning) to beat traffic & crowds. • Bring swim gear, sunblock, towel, water etc. so you’re not overly reliant on vendors. • Try the bake & shark but maybe also check less crowded stalls if you want a more relaxed food experience. • Check the weather / surf forecasts. If too windy or rough, your experience in the water may be less enjoyable. • Be sure to enjoy the drive up — there are look-outs or spots for photos.
My favourite beach to visit. First time during the rainy season in May. Bake and shark, love the scenic view on the way winding down into the bay. It's changed very much over time. Lots more stalls on the beach now which is different. I still enjoy tumbling in the waves. It's not a relaxing swim but more of a workout in the sunshine and liming. Had some cute coconut cocktails in the van on the road. Wave after wave!
I’ve been to many countries and beaches, and I wouldn’t put this one in my top 5 or even top 10. It’s a nice beach to spend some time on while visiting the island, but Tobago is much better known for its beaches. The water here wasn’t especially clear or blue, and the waves made swimming less enjoyable. We came on a cruise ship tour that cost about $70 per person for only 2.5 hours at the beach. Sunbeds and umbrellas were not included—we paid $20 extra—and even showers weren’t part of the package. Getting back on the bus was frustrating because no one told us you can’t board wet, so without dry clothes or towels it became an issue, especially since the ride back to the ship was about 1.5 hours. There were a few snack and food vendors around, but overall the experience felt overpriced and underwhelming. For me, this beach earns about 3.5 stars at best.
If we’re being honest you go to maracas for the bake and shark and the beach is a plus. Surf is always rough so be on your guard at all times while in the water. Bathroom is $5TT and has showers.
My fave beach in Trinidad, the facilities are pretty great (would reccomend walking with cash as you have to pay for parking/facilities etc).
One of the most popular beaches in Trinidad. Highly recommend to visit during Easter period where the water is calmer and clearer even blue/green. Stingrays can be found on this beach but more to the fishing area on the left end.

Its one of the best spots to relax and enjoy the outdoors in Port of Spain. It’s huge, open, and great for a walk, jog, or just lounging around. The area is well-kept, with plenty of green space and beautiful views, especially in the evenings when the sun starts to set. I also attended a yoga session there, and it was a great experience. The peaceful atmosphere and open space made it the perfect setting to unwind and connect with nature. It’s a popular spot for families, fitness enthusiasts, or anyone just looking to relax. There are also lots of food vendors around, so you can grab a quick bite or drink while enjoying the view.
The treasure and social center of Port of Spain. Visiting again after 45 years and expecting the same beauty is obviously unfair and mostly intact, however the barracks, placed probably for the carnival could have been a better taste, reflecting local architecture, and should have been removed by now. It is sad to see that the evenings are not safe anymore in the park, so sad (and bad for local business and for tourism).
Super beautiful park. They sell coconut water everywhere which my son loves. Gras is super green and well trimmed, I really enjoy going there with my kid.
Queen's Park Savannah, often referred to as "the Savannah," is a major landmark and the largest open recreational space in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. It's a central hub for various activities, events, and historical attractions. It is considered to be one of the largest traffic roundabouts in the world. Things to Do and See. Recreation, the magnificent seven, nearby attraction and food vendors.
This natural large savannak is about 260 acres with a circumference of over 2.2 miles. The park is ringed by a busy roadway yet overs peace. The huge area offers sitting benches in the shade along the roadway. The huge interior is a large open field for playing, jumping, running. The southern end offers nightly food trucks from 6pm til about 11pm with various ethnic foods.
Day trip in POS, and headed to the savannah from the water taxi terminal. Not a bad walk. At that time 10am, savannah was pretty empty. Had a coconut and chilled for an hour, enjoying the cool breeze and allowing the day to pass me by. Probably would be much better in the afternoons.
Great outdoor space for any activities. Great running track and just a pleasant place to sit and take in the city shenanigans. The food vendors on the weekend are really amazing also. Just gotta try for your own experience. Which shouldn't disappoint 👍🏿
We loved the Savannah But especially the doubles truck that make them fresh in front of you We’ll worth a visit , and we paid many whilst in the Port of Spain Felt very safe and just a really good community atmosphere The lady that sells fresh juice opposite the ice cream seller is well worth a visit Lovely fresh healthy juice served with a smile 🥰

We had 2 nights at Asa Wright and what a wonderful experience. We had been 10+ years ago and decided it was time for a revisit. The renovations and additions are amazing, so well done and very tasteful. From the arrival greeting, induction to the property, attention to detail, service of all the staff and the food, we had an exceptional time. Our bird guides were extremely knowledgeable and during our time there we had the joy of recording the sighting of 41 individual species of birds along with beautiful flowers throughout the forest and other creatures seen along the way. Our biggest unexpected birding treat was seeing 5 Toucans!! We will definitely be returning later this year as this place was so good for the soul.
The new buildings are beautiful and well maintained. The staff were wonderful - friendly and helpful. The bird viewing area allowed us to see tons of hummingbirds and other birds. The walking trails were very pretty. The food was fantastic as was the cocoa tea. The little gift shop had some lovely items.
Great experience! Knowledgeable guides! Clean looking surroundings. Good food and drink! Hospitable staff. Well worth the cost! I would say international standard. For those who can appreciate beauty and silence except the sound of nature. Lovely rivers. Clear water pool to bathe! A functioning toilet along the trail. Would you believe that! Most of all, wide variety of hummingbirds and toucans etc.
I think most people that come here know that this is a world class location for birding, so I'll skip that part. For me, the staff are what made the stay so memorable. Warmth and kindness can't be faked, and the team here have been exceptional. They are always willing to help, and do so with a smile. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The food was amazing. The grounds are beautiful. If you are on the fence on whether to stay here or not, let me push you over. Zero regrets!
An Unforgettable Stay at Asa Wright Nature Centre with Hadco Experiences Our stay at the Asa Wright Nature Centre, hosted by Hadco Experiences, was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by beauty—lush greenery, the songs of countless bird species, and the warmth of some of the kindest, most welcoming staff I’ve ever encountered. Pam and Natasha in the restaurant set the tone for excellence in service and hospitality. Every meal was over-abundant, perfectly prepared, and bursting with flavor. The goat dish was unforgettable, the fish consistently fantastic, and the homemade pepper sauce was exactly the spicy delight my husband craves. Special shoutout to the mocha cheesecake and Belgian chocolate ice cream—truly indulgent and not to be missed! Our birding experience was elevated by the outstanding guides: Rondel, Caleb, Guiselle, Annandra, and Mukesh. Their passion, knowledge, and patience made every outing memorable, and they were always available on the porch for questions or spontaneous sightings. Speaking of which, a heartfelt thank-you to Richard from security—he literally tracked us down to help us spot a Trogon. That level of care is something you don’t forget. And John—he’s the kind of person who feels like an old friend within minutes. Warm, friendly, endlessly helpful—saying goodbye to him was tough. Finbar, the bartender, kept the atmosphere light and joyful with his easygoing nature and generous spirit. Honestly, he felt like part of the family. And Warren, the general manager, clearly leads by example. The staff culture is one of warmth, enthusiasm, and genuine care. Every single person went out of their way to make us feel at home. The Barred Antshrike Room (#7) was perfectly situated near the main building with minimal steps (note: a little uneven, so just watch your footing). The room was clean and comfortable, with top-notch linens, including large, cozy bath sheets. A few small suggestions: labeling the light switches and adding a shelf in the shower would add convenience, but these are truly minor “first-world problems.” Also, be aware that the walls are VERY thin. The property itself is beyond words—restored to its former glory, with beautiful West Indian architecture and furnishings. The ambiance is serene and immersive. I cannot stress enough how safe and well-maintained everything felt. The staff's diligence in cleaning and replenishing bird food daily was impressive and appreciated. Hadco Experiences made our trip seamless from beginning to end. They handled all the planning, the dozens of safety questions, the changes, and made everything worry-free. Their professionalism and attention to detail meant I never once had to play “travel agent”—I could just relax and enjoy. A note for future guests: • Avoid holidays like Mother’s Day if you’re focused on birding. On that day, a large crowd of non-birding guests and loud children unfortunately disrupted the peaceful atmosphere. The viewing deck even had people watching sports on their phones—something that truly detracted from the unique magic of this place. Still, these were isolated moments in what was otherwise an exceptional experience. The birding, the food, the people, and the peaceful surroundings far exceeded our expectations. It was truly painful to leave, and we’re already dreaming of our return. My one lingering concern is the future of Asa Wright once Hadco’s lease ends. Their stewardship has been transformative, and I only hope whoever follows maintains the same level of care, vision, and respect for this incredible place. A recommendation would be to develop a downloadable trail map that isn’t governed by a third party app. This and a bird list would be great to have to quickly download directly from the Hadco website. We didn’t just visit a nature centre—we found a home away from home. And we will absolutely be back.
Absolutely 💯 gorgeous, the views are amazing, the property is very well kept and maintained. I recommend to add zip lines for activities
Had an amazing time , great food, great views, great scenery. Peaceful and quiet, only noise ,nature.
Showed up and as no one there answers the phone and asked at front gate intercom for a single room for 2 people. quoted 300 us dollars EACH sharing one room. Couldn't process it so said i would think about it. Thought I misheard so rnag intercom and asked again and she said sorry its actually 350 usd or 700 usd for a shared room. Said no thanks and walked. Crazy prices

Zoo with giraffes, tigers, various primates, giant tortoises, birds & other animals.
Slide 1 of 8
I enjoyed visiting a lot. I went alone and it was a very peaceful walk through to see all the animals. There were shops available for drinks / food / souvenirs. I enjoyed seeing so many animals you don't usually get to see in zoos in United States.
Thanks to Christian, my husband and I as well as my friends from NYC had a very educational & wonderful time. He gave an experience that exceeded my husband's and my 1st visit to the zoo. This was, according to my friend, one of the best zoo visits she's had due to the mini your as well as petting experience. What I would like to say to SOME of the visitors to the zoo is STOP TAKING GOD'S CREATIONS FOR GRANTED & SHOW APPRECIATION. You can do this by adherence to zoo rules/policies by NOT FEEDING THE ANIMALS. It's cruel! They die and there's so much red tape in getting new animals to the zoo to "entertain" you. Also, be considerate of shooting off fireworks and bamboo.... it spooks the animals literally to death. They can get so scared they run wild to their death. Think about this... God gave you a brain more vast than those animals; be appreciative and use it 😉
Well... I hate to give bad news about this place... but maybe the zoo will read this and make some changes before they close for good! The zoo need real help. The animal feces smell is all over the primate section and is inescapable, espescially on the humid rainy days. The signage on the exhibits are missing and poorly done. The larger animals look uncomfortable for sure and have no recourse from the heat. The aquarium...oh please stop calling it that!. Its just a few fish tanks with some freshwater species. The tanks need to be cleaned up, so the fish can be better displayed. The airconditioning in this space is a lovely escape from the stench of mamalian species areas, so that is a huge plus. Lots of the animal exhibit spaces are missing animals. Why??! The best parts of the zoo are the birds, zebras,& tigers. There are also many native food tree species in the zoo as well. Make the place more interactive by adding website maps, contol the odors, and add some saltwater fish species and other local wildlife along with the areas they are found in nature. This place could be such a national treasure! I remember this zoo from when I was a child. It was such a pleasant experience. I brought my own family here this week- 45 years later. I was embarassed at the condition of the place. Have some Trini Pride man, and fix this place up to modern tourist zoo standards. I would love to come back when things have improved. Thanks for reading and I really hope all-yuh do someting good for de place soon.
About 15 years ago, I took some expats to this zoo and it was actually quite nice— a little dated, but reasonably well maintained. On our recent visit to Trinidad, we decided to take our kids, thinking it would be a fun family outing. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The only real positive was the free parking. Given the island’s constant humidity, it would be a huge improvement if management installed misting stations throughout the grounds. This would make the visit much more comfortable. Instead, the entire zoo had an overwhelming odor of animal waste—particularly near the wild boar section, where the smell was almost unbearable. Basic facilities were also an issue. There wasn’t a single working sink with running water; most of the pipes were broken, with faucet handles just spinning in place. On the bright side, the animals were fairly active, and our kids enjoyed seeing some of the local wildlife, including snakes, turtles, deer, and agouti. Overall, the zoo has potential, but it’s clear that significant upkeep and investment are needed to bring it back to a standard that both locals and visitors can appreciate.
Visited recently after many years and I welcomed the few updates I noticed. The tents and benches added a touch of much needed comfort and a place to rest. Even though I personally find it is depressing for the animals to be in the small enclosures, I have observed the little improvements to accommodate the animals. Keep up the good job!
Lovely experience with the Halloween theme. Food and drinks on sale at two locations. My only concern was at the entry point to pay I told the cashier one child under 12 years and one adult. The cashier looked at my child who turned 11 years old a week ago and her facial expression and body language said it all. She assumed I was lying because my daughter looks more mature for her age. I paid $100 and had to remind the cashier I was waiting on my charge. Kids 12&under TT$20, 13&over is TT$40. That was the only uncomfortable part of my experience.
Lots of exotic animals, reptiles and birds. Tall giraffes, snakes and caymans.
It was awesome... Lots of different animals. The main reason I went to that zoo was because my little one loves giraffes. Only. To find out we couldn't go in that section :( we only saw the head of the giraffe. Was disappointed with that.

It's been many years going to the botanical gardens. But we wanted something to do on a public holiday so we decided to visit with my daughter and she absolutely loved it. She enjoyed walking along the trails and seeing bats, butterflies, different trees and flowers and the squirrels and birds. She had a wonderful.
I'm sure we have all visited the Botanical Gardens.. but have you ever seen The Rainbow Eucalyptus? This is like nature's vibrant work of art! Its smooth, orange-tinted bark peels away to reveal a stunning array of colors—orange, gray, and purplish-brown—making it look like the tree’s wearing its own masterpiece. And let’s talk about its height: this tree towers majestically, with its long, tapering trunk stretching all the way up to the sky—truly a sight to behold. But this tree isn’t just about looks! Its leaves are packed with antiseptic properties, making them great for treating wounds. Plus, brew them into a tea and they help soothe asthma and coughs. Oh, and here’s the best part: the Rainbow Eucalyptus naturally repels mosquitoes. As someone with O+ blood (and an apparent magnet for mosquitoes), I couldn’t appreciate this more—goodbye, itchy bites! 🌈🌳🦟
Very natural and casual garden, large and nice to walk around. It is free. Nice way of spending an hour or so. Not many plants.
Awesome experience. Our stop was part of a tour so we only stayed for 20 minutes. They had public toilets which were relatively clean! The flora was great and our guide filled in the blanks! While there we saw the rainbow tree, pretty cool!
My wife and I had a wonderful time strolling through the Royal Botanic Gardens in Port of Spain. The gardens are beautifully maintained and offer a peaceful escape from the city. One thing to note is that the gardens are adjacent to the President's House, so be mindful of where you enter, as I made the mistake of getting too close and was politely approached by the guards. The gardens are also conveniently connected to the zoo, making it easy to explore both attractions in one visit. Overall, it was a great place to walk through and enjoy nature. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and scenic outing.
Very clean and scenic area. The trees offer great shade for picnic and the bathrooms are easy to access. The gardens are closed between 5-6pm
Worth a stop. Plants weren't overly amazing but lots of birds, a decent koi pond, and a neat suspended bridge
Lovely place to go and just enjoy nature. Small cemetery inside with politicians graves. Overall very pretty. Didn't go up the hill. Just walked around the path Lucky enough to see a hummingbird, parrot, red squirrel and eguana.

An excellent place of importance for the birdlife and flora & fauna. Enjoyed visiting when living nearby.

We recently took a quick trip to Trinidad and visited this unique place. It is located in a residence of Mr and Mrs Ferguson, located in the hills of Maracas St Joseph with some steep inclines so be prepared for the drive. We received a lecture about the fascinating humming birds of 🇹🇹 as well as a delicious breakfast featuring local dishes and sorrel/ teas. We were lucky enough to see the rare Tufted Coquette (the small humming bird with the cool orange colored “hairstyle!”) and I captured an image to share. Photographers, birders and folks up for a unique local experience will appreciate this place. I’m embarrassed to say I was not familiar with this place before as it has been around for 13 years.
Ideal location to experience nature and especially Hummingbirds in their natural habitat. Easily accessible from the main road. We choose the full lunch option and it was delightful 😊
I found Yerette home of the hummingbird the night before our visit. Theo was a great host and incredibly knowledgeable about hummingbirds and even got my husband interested in these precious birds. They receive 100s and sometimes 1000s of birds at their home depending on the time of the year. It is definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Gloria treated us to authentic Trinidad cuisine for lunch and I must say it was simply scrumptious.
Amazing and beautiful views of not only the property on site but also the surrounding forest/mountains/hills. A delicious light lunch was served. Everyone was very welcoming and pleasant to speak with. Theo was an outstanding teacher, not only teaching us about the hummingbird but also about the history of Trinidad & Tobago and many other topics that all intertwine and make sense for our reasons to be there. I would highly recommend Yerette Home of the Hummingbird to anyone visiting Trinidad and Tobago.
Beautiful location, I saw lots and lots of hummingbirds. I learned so much on these amazing birds. I really enjoyed Mr. Theo’s presentation. It was fun, captivating and his voice is really soothing. The food was delicious and they provide refreshments. Highly recommend this location. It’s not just for observing hummingbirds but also learning so many awesome things about them.
Get to know about these absolutely incredible birds. Theo and Gloria are the perfect hosts to feed your mind, body and soul. You'll leave here greater for the experience.
This was the highlight of our cruise and didn't disappoint us. The talks were interesting and the pictures stunning. Everyone was really friendly as well as being helpful. The Hummingbirds were everywhere not just on the feeders. Such agile little creatures in so many colours and sizes. Most definitely well worth a visit.
Yerette has to be one of the most understated and excellent eco experiences in Trinidad. You don’t need to be a bird enthusiast or hummingbird lover to fall in love with this ethereal garden. Here you will get incredible bird value for money spent. There are 15 different species of hummingbirds that live here. All that’s required is 3.5 - 4 hours and trust me that time will feel like an investment in the end. Yerette receives visitors year round from all corners of the globe just to catch a glimpse of our local hummingbird beauty. I am not a birder. However, I am someone who appreciates fresh air, green spaces, natural beauty, wildlife and colour. If you’re in Trinidad for work, Carnival or visiting friends/family and want to squeeze in something extra to take back, let it be this informative, outdoorsy one (with some tasty treats at the end). Quite possibly the most aesthetically pleasing cheesepaste sandwich ever (if you’re there for the tea time session). Payment is with cash only.

Laid-back sandy stretch in a crescent-shaped bay known for its calm water, backed by wooded hills.
Slide 1 of 8
Arguably the best beach in Trinidad with facilities etc, highly recommend to tourists..water is clear and calm... stop at Maracas for your bake n shark and simply take the 10 mins drive up the road, SAND FLIES WILL GIVE YOU A HARD TIME ...
Las cuevas beach is definitely a favorite for families with small children. The waves are significantly calmer than maracas. We arrived around 8.30 am and the main car park was already full so we had to park at the secondary carpark at the top. There's a steep ramp from there to the beach. At that hour, the beach was very calm and there was barely a ripple. The beach has very little shells and few stones and the water is pretty clear and we even found a sand dollar on the beach! . We rented an umbrella and 2 chairs for $140TT and stayed the day. It's less 'vibesy' than maracas and there's a lot of beach landscape so persons can spread out along the beach as they please making it less crowded looking. By midday, there was a fair amount of people. There's not as many food choices as maracas ( there's a lady selling pholourie, bake and shark, fried chicken bites and fries) at the entrance. Her food is good but it's $50 a meal and the service is slower than what you'd get at Maracas and of course, as it's a very small business she only takes cash. There's also another vendor selling pineapple chow fresh on the spot (amazing chow btw 10/10-would buy again) There's a few other carts selling ice cream and sno-cone about and another vendor selling snacks and preservatives. By 1.30pm the waves started getting 'maracas style' and we packed up to leave. Which brings me to the issue of the change rooms... The change rooms are in a deplorable condition (thank heavens they know not to charge you to use that!) The showers are pipes in broken cracks in the wall and the entire floor of the change room is a shallow pool of sand and water. It was a solid 0/10 --I will never use that restroom again. It needs a serious upgrade and they need to build some family change rooms like what's at Maracas. The facility needs a LOT of improvement. Las cuevas has a lot of potential to be as great as Maracas if they would renovate and improve the infrastructure. Update: the sandflies on the beach are excessive.walk with some bug/insect repellent and stay off the layin in the sand because our entire family had a rash from sandfly bites the next day after our visit to the beach esp our youngest who was laying in the sand making sand castles
Las Cuevas Beach is one of the most beautiful and relaxing beaches in Trinidad. The water here is usually calm and clear, making it perfect for swimming and great for families with kids. Little to no waves usually, however depending on when you visit, I have seen it really rough at times. The beach is clean and well-maintained, with soft sand that’s ideal for lounging or taking a walk/run. You can explore some small caves along the shore. The surrounding hills and greenery give it a more secluded and natural vibe compared to some of the busier beaches. Facilities like restrooms and picnic areas are available, and there’s usually free parking close to the beach, making it very convenient. There are chairs and umbrellas for rent. The only issue which I have experienced multiple times is copious amounts of sand flies biting you as soon as you enter the beach, it's a hit or miss with this, not sure what causes it or when exactly so walk with insect repellent incase.
always a calm clean beach with good washroom, nice relax vibes
Very nice beach. It's usually more calm than Maracas. On sunny days, the water is crystal clear. If chairs or umbrellas are needed there are guys nearby who rents them out to you. Changing room and showers are available. Car park is small so if it is full you have to park on the road.
Much quieter than Maracas, with a long stretch of soft sand perfect for walking. Facilities are good with changing rooms and lifeguards on duty. Great place for a peaceful lime or picnic. If you want calm compared to Maracas, this is the spot.
Great beach facilities. This beach is usually considered alongside Maracas and Tyrico as they are along the same north coast road with Las Cuecas being the farthest of the three when coming from the west. The parking is great unlike Tyrico and free unlike maracas. When the main car park is full there is additional parking with a nice walk way between the car park and the beach. The entire beach facility is very well built and maintained. There is a nice shower area unlike Tyrico. You can pay just 1 dollar to shower inside and use the changing rooms or you can shower outside for free. Unlike Maracas where you have to pay and the price is relatively much more. The beach itself is great. The water is very calm and clean. Tyrico beach has an estuary so while it is calm most times, it can have some debris in the water Maracas beach is usually very rough and it's turbulent waters result in the water being very sandy. Hence, Las Cuevas has the best beach out of the 3 locations. There is also a snack bar to compete with Maracas' iconic bake and shark as well as vendors selling local craft and snacks. Is it worth the extra drive after Maracas? I would say yes but you can decide.
Spent a couple of hours on this lovely beach. There are facilities available for changing etc. The car park is a good size but can get full really quickly. On a Tuesday at 3pm there were a couple of available spaces. Snacks and drinks are available. You can also have a massage if you like. Decks chairs can be rented. I prefer Las Cuevas as I am not a strong swimmer and the nearby Maracas Beach can be a little rough. The life guards were present. Had an amazing time. We left at 5pm but the change room facilities and the outdoor showers were closed. There was a sink and a jug which we used to rinse off the sea water with. I can wait to return to walk the long stretch of beach.

If you’re ever in south and need a relaxing space or a spot to get the perfect sunrise or sunset, this is your spot. Always well-maintained with sufficient parking facilities. Washrooms are available as well as benches and covered tables for having lunch and maintained lawn for picnics. Keep in mind the time the gates close that wouldn’t allow you to drive to the top of the hill (you can still walk) if you’re trying to catch the sunset that’s ALWAYS breathtaking from here. What I love most is that it’s never crowded. You’ll see persons hiking the hill, walking their dogs or just taking a stroll but it’s never crowded to the point where you feel overwhelmed.
Nice spot but the authorities need to put in more effort to make this lovey park look better. It appears “beat up”. As you drive up to the top there are shaded tables with benches to have your picnic! There are more spots once you reach the top. We visited during early afternoon on a weekday so it was not at all crowed. Plenty of parking spots. There are washrooms at the top. There are no shops or vending machines there. The views are of the sea and on a clear day you might spot the tall buildings of Port of Spain. Views of the town and countryside as well.
Reached there around 3pm. Staff at the entrance took driver's name . We then made our way up to the look out . Beautiful, scenic views of the city . Very relaxing and peaceful you could fall asleep ! There were benches to sit and take in the views and rest your legs . Place was clean.
Lovely view at the top and on the way back down. There are huts with seats to enjoy a spread of eats and drinks in the shade. No toilet paper is provided in the toilets though...you need to walk with your own tissue and hand towels.
San Fernando Hill offers a breathtaking experience, making it an ideal destination for a day out with camp students. The play park is well-maintained, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for kids to explore and have fun. The panoramic views from the hill are simply stunning, adding to the overall remarkable experience. The combination of natural beauty and recreational space made our visit unforgettable. Highly recommended for group outings! There is no cost to visit.
Great spot for a picnic, scenic views around San Fernando. Fo when it's cooler, even under the shady trees it's hot
Beautiful and clean natural park. Relaxing place with security.
View from the hill is very beautiful. The drive up the hill is easy enough for a car. Note that the hill may be closed during certain days/events. Example, the day before Independence Day it was closed of as they were preparing for fireworks. There are benches where you can sit under a shed or trees. Before reaching the top there is a play park for children.

Amongst my favorite hikes in trinidad for its view and lush landscape, and relatively safe nature due to it always having hikers on the path. Not for the unfit, the ascent to the top is challenging and get steeper as you go. Stay hydrated and carry salt prunes.
Very peaceful place and it’s always clean and well kept. Glad to see most people treat the holy grounds with respect. Also if you’re adventurous there’s a beautiful trail behind the church called Mt. Tabor. Recently they started closing the gates at the bottom of the hill after 6pm so keep that in mind.
Mount St. Benedict Abbey is a beautiful and peaceful escape. Perched in the hills, it’s calm, scenic, and perfect for quiet reflection. The views are incredible, the grounds are spotless, and there’s a unique sense of stillness that makes you want to slow down and take it all in. Don’t miss the little shop—they sell handmade yogurt and honey!
Very relaxing, quiet atmosphere with great views. Amazing escape regardless of religion with a nice gift shop (try the yogurt, 10/10 worth it) and lots of parking.
My first visit to Mount St Benedict was nothing short of unforgettable. My husband took me and it was so serene, filled with tranquility and picturesque views all around. The historical significance is evident all around. The place as expected was well maintained and for us it was an evening well spent. It was for me a most pleasant surprise that reminds me that everything happens at the right time.
Went for a hike in the pines. Breathtaking views and just a satisfying experience.
Lovely area, with facilities and breath taking views.
Soothing and relaxing place to visit! A quick drive from the airport in Port of Spain and much more peaceful than sitting in an airport waiting on a delayed flight. The views are stunning and the drive there is great, do yourself a favor and take the time to enjoy this scenic peaceful retreat.

Best Anniversary Celebration – Amorous, Enchanting and Picturesque! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! AWESOME and AMAZING experience with Go West TT. My loving husband arranged the Sunset Cruise and Intimate Dinner package to celebrate our 9th Wedding Anniversary and let me tell you…..this is definitely one for the books. This happened almost a week ago and I am still reminiscing about it with a smile on my face…..lol. There are moments in life you wish could last forever and the experience my husband and I had on Azzurro is definitely on that list of moments! BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE: Leanna and Fabio are so sweet and accommodating, they made sure that we were well taken care of. The ambience and the mood was something straight out of the movies! Leanna also went as far as being our photographer for the day…..I felt like I was on an engagement photoshoot….lol. She captured some romantic moments of my husband and myself (as you can see from the pics). Thank you sooooo much for everything Leanna and Fabio! Full Marks 100/100! #GOWESTTT #bestexperienceever #willdefinitelybookagain #memoriestolastalifetime
There aren’t enough words to describe how amazing the service is! From the planning behind the scenes, to ensuring that my fiancé and I were comfortable during our stay on the yacht and being friendly hosts, it’s an experience you’d want to relive over and over again. Thank you for making our special day even more meaningful with the unique touches and creating such a smooth flow for every stage. We look forward to using your services again soon
10/10 experience. My fiancé decided to surprise me for my 30th birthday with dinner on a boat. We’ve both been obsessed with watching shows about yacht life and the top-class service people receive while dining on boats, and I think the experience we had actually exceeded our expectations. From the moment we exited the car at the marina, Fabio was patiently waiting for us. He greeted us warmly and walked us to the yacht. The setup was so intimate, and we got the perfect mix of a sunset and candlelit dinner on the water. I loved how they paid attention to the small details—like the little decal on the napkins and the "Happy Birthday" sign. Fabio and his wife were both so inviting and made us feel comfortable, like it was meant to be our own personal oasis for a couple of hours. Anything we needed, they were attentive and quick to provide. I truly felt like a primary guest on a mega yacht. Even though it was a cozy and intimate smaller yacht, the experience and level of service made us feel incredibly special—like we were the most important people on the marina 🤣. I’ve never felt so taken care of at any restaurant or hotel as I did during our time being served by them. I would 100% recommend this experience to anyone who finds happiness on the water and in nature, or even to those who just love fine dining and unique, intimate experiences ♥️. I would definitely do it again.
I couldn’t ask for a better 30th Birthday! Leanna was very professional from the first point of service. I felt comfortable to have the yacht cruise for my 30th birthday. On the day, both Leanna and Fabio was very hospitable and took really good care of my friends and I. We all admired their hospitality! It was a great day down the islands, took lots of pics and will definitely do it again. I won’t hesitate to recommend if you’re thinking of having a yacht cruise for your 30th birthday.
Surprised my husband for his birthday with an intimate lunch on board the Azzuro; Fabio and Leanna made this time so romantic that it became more than a suprise birthday for my husband it also became a romantic getaway for us both. We absolutely had a fantastic time and the three course meal was exquisite, Fabio made us think we were in Venice for a day. Leana since our cruise with you all in April we have just been spreading the word, so look forward to some bookings; OOOOOH the wineeeeeee was out of this world, we are now certified winos.buy
If your looking for a once in a lifetime experience like no other in Trinidad ,look no further than Go West. From the first moment I contacted Leanna with the proposal idea I knew I was in great hands ,she exudes confidence and professionalism .I started planning this with a total stranger at the end we became good friends. The planning was such a fun and new experience ,the execution beyond my imagination, out of a movie or fairytale, Go West along with 24 frames are creating magical moments that are priceless and everyone should know about them. The Go West team are remarkable humans and I'm glad I chose you to create my dream proposal .
Leanna and Fabio, It was my first time meeting you both but it felt like we both knew you guys for years. It's rare to come across people like them. The time spent with you both and the experience was truly amazing and unforgettable. From the simplest things like making sure all the plans were on track the night before to the delicious meals that Fabio cooked, you both are nothing less than awesome. Our trip DDI was really priceless. The peaceful environment and good company really rejuvenated our souls. A very hard working and funny couple that would make sure you enjoy every second of your trip. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU BOOK THEM NOW. ❤
Wow - Leanna went above and beyond on a simple day trip while I was in Port of Spain for the weekend. ❤️ She's someone with a big heart and integrity - she genuinely cares for her customers and their experiences. Trust me - you are in good hands!

Trinidad history is something some of us are not fully educated about. The National Museum & Art Gallery is the place to be
The museum is one of my happy places, took my daughter for the first time and she loved it too. Not much has changed since my first visit years ago, yet every time I visit I discover something new. Hoping that with the major renovations coming up they really do this national treasure justice (and maintain it too) First time I've been allowed to take pictures inside as well. The guy at the front said, take as many as we want so we can compare when the renovations are through.
Informative museum on the first floor about the history of the my twin island home. Second floor has an exhibition of paintings sculptures by local artist. Even two by my late art teacher. But MORE professional curation is greatly needed. Some of the pieces seem dusty and deteriorating. Poor lighting and uninspired installations. The WITCO sports room has not been updated with latest Trinidad athletes, the pictures are yellowing out and fading. They seem to be in the same condition as when I first saw them 35 years ago. CURATION!
Genuine history and artifacts on display. Very interesting for people who would have an appreciation for roots and culture. The building interior needs a facelift.
Trinidad and Tobago's rich history is displayed. Our multi ethnic, multi religious, cosmopolitan roots are explored. Worth more than one visit.
We thought it was more of an art gallery, but were pleasantly surprised at the mix of natural history (animals and plants), as well as cultural history (pre and post colonisation). Even more exciting was the pieces displayed by locals art in the run up to Carnival 2020. We enjoyed the visit and would definitely recommend.
Great collection local animals and insects. Wonderful travel through history from plate tectonics to the arrival of the difference races.
Very interesting and fun to browse. The museum could need some maintenance though.

The devotion and dedication of one man clearly comes through when you visit this temple in the sea. Sewdass’s perseverance won even though the colonial rulers, the British, would not grant him permission to have a temple. After much suffering he figured out a way … if the rulers would not allow him to build temple on land he would build one in the sea! We can only see the top white colored dome of the original small temple on the left side as you walk along the pathway. The current temple was built much later. Small rooms host Images of Gods and Goddesses as well as the main temple hall on the sea. Please do not pick the flowers. Please remove shoes if you plan to walk up the steps and walk around the main temple hall. May the memory of Sewdass be Blessed. May his mental continuum dwell in the higher planes. 🙏🏻
I had the most serene and peaceful experience at the Temple by the Sea. The atmosphere was incredibly tranquil, making it a perfect place to reflect and find inner calm. Our children were fascinated by the temple's history and had so many questions, all of which were wonderfully answered by the informative plaques and the friendly locals we met. This site offers a rich cultural experience that beautifully showcases Trinidad’s heritage. It's an ideal spot for anyone looking to combine a history lesson with a deep sense of spirituality. Highly recommended! *Free
What an absolutely beautiful and amazing experience. This is something I will never forget . I suggest everyone visiting Trinidad , if you are spiritual or religious, take a trip to this temple . The grounds are amazing and the people are so kind and enlightened. We left with our hearts and mind feeling lifted and lighter and closer to God.
Beautiful temple located on the coastline. This stunning Hindu temple is beautifully built and well maintained. It has gorgeous statues and decorative architecture that takes the breath away. This site is not to be missed on your visit to Trinidad. Respect needs to be observed in this place and a solemn demeanour and calm behaviour is expected when entering this place.
One of the wonders of Trinidad. Very beautiful and peaceful, even though it's next to the cremation ground. The location actually seems very appropriate given that people mourn and bid goodbye to their loved ones just a few feet away. Note that the temple is open on specific days so you should call the phone number listed in Google Maps
The temple is very clean and serene, and I'm really happy to see that. It has been a bit run down the past few years but I visited this weekend and it is in very clean, well painted, condition. This is a key spot for a lovely sunset, just keep in mind it closes at 6pm. Ps. Walk with food for the strays. They are incredibly sweet. Humans; stop straying animals.
Visited here yesterday evening. I think the caretaker does a great job making sure there's no meat or alcohol on the grounds. I believe there's regular service in the temple but not sure which days. The scenery is just amazing and peacefully spiritual especially with December sunsets....it's a must visit during this month. Keep in mind there's the cremation site nearby for those wishing to visit...check your times beforehand so that you don't run into a funeral. There's also a statue of the man who built the temple at the entrance with a little history. The seating areas are decrepit and there was some littering here and there ( in brick holes) even though there were several bins. If you're going to relax walk with your chairs or prepare to sit in your vehicle. There were a few healthy looking, very friendly homeless dogs and cats there so if you're an animal lover I suggest u walk with something to feed them outside the grounds.
Amazing spiritual place. Showing the mark of a strong man and his devotion. Wonderful location and a must visit. One can see Venezuela across on a clear day. The murtis as magnificent and overall the place has a very deep cultural meaning.

Amazing must see, must do tour, if visiting Trinidad! Evening sunset tour to watch the scarlet Ibis birds roost is magical. Did this tour in the middle of Nov and got very lucky with clear skies and no rain, fortunately. Highly recommend long pants or bug spray.
10/10 experience. The tour was beautiful and our guide was well informed and took this time. It was also very very beautiful. I loved everything about it and my family members enjoyed themselves and had only good things to say. Would definitely recommend
The tour was interesting. The accommodations were comfortable. Ensure you walk with repellent, water, your own snacks abs maybe wine as the wait for the birds to roost can be a little long. Oh and a pro camera as you can't get too close to the birds
Booked the sunset scarlet ibis tour. Had a very knowledgeable guide (Kemraj?) who was excellent at spotting and pointing out wildlife. We did this in early September and had amazing luck with the vast number of ibises coming back to roost. Would highly recommend!
So the boats cud do with fixing a bit. Our tour guide was cool and great. The scenery is to die for. First time going as an adult we took our kids
Nice tour to see flamingo and scarlet ibis (from a distance). The red scarlet are SO red and we saw them at the sunset time where we stopped for about half an hour to watch them coming to a specific spot to sleep. At that time we got complimentary crisps. We were there on April which was quite sunny and hot, so a hat and a fan is recommended. There are only two companies to book the tour with. We booked with Nanan. You can also go without an advance booking. The parking employee was rude and not friendly.
Great experience I recommend it as a must see on your travel to Trinidad. You will enter a flat bottom boat and sail thru the mangrove, your guide would stop along the way to speak about the wildlife experience and your boat will end at a standstill while u wait for the flocks of scarlet ibis to fly into their nesting spaces. Meanwhile enjoy the catfish that swim to the top of the boat. Truly gorgeous Ensure you walk with a sun hat, sunblock, bug repellant and your refreshments if you like. We took local beer & Water. A small.pack of local snack was provided . But we also walked with chips and cookies.
I can't believe I have lived here for 30+ years and had never been to the Caroni bird sanctuary! Apparently January is one of the best months to go! Especially when it's dry season as the boats aren't covered and there's not much chance of rain. March-April months, the scarlet Ibises are nesting and thus there are less birds to see if you visit at that time- so keep that in mind. People!!! Hats and sunglasses are a MUST!👒🕶️ It's a sunset boat cruise yes but it's level sun in your eyes due to direction of sailing. Don't do like us and forget our hats and sunglasses home. Don't say I didn't warn you. .Definitely walk with your mosquito repellent spray and put it on before the tour starts.. especially if you're a non- national (for some reason our mosquitoes love foreigners 😂)we didn't get any mosquitos when we visited in January. The entire experience is about 3 hours long and there's lots to see. There are lots of low hanging branches so there's some 'ducking' and bending involved especially if you're sitting on either side of the boat. So *CAUTION* those with C-spine, neck or back problems) --maybe sit in the middle seats. The tour gives complimentary snacks on board while you wait at the viewing area waiting for the many Ibises to fly in. Drinks are on sale prior to departure. You can also bring your own snacks and drinks on board in a backpack but please-don't litter! 🙃 It was quite a great excursion for my family (including two kids 5 and under) They enjoyed looking at the many species of birds, a few snakes in trees (sleeping), owls and we even saw a young caiman. Life vests are on board Definitely enjoyed the tour with our Nanan's tour guide, he was very knowledgeable and funny!
