Pigeon Point Beach is a popular destination known for its calm, turquoise waters and white sand. It offers water sports, cabanas, and an enchanting setting with a thatched-roof jetty and a new Heritage Pavilion. This area is the most heavily developed region on the island, featuring hotels, bars, restaurants, and commercialized beaches like Pigeon Point and Store Bay.
Paradise at its best. This is a very nice beach and you have to pay to enter as its not a public one which dose make a difference, as you don't get the lucky lucky men selling you stuff all of the time its much more relaxed and feels safer. The main part is a busy part of the beach you need to pay for sunbeds etc but if you don't a towel will do. There is other parts if you wish to get away from people too. There are a few shops and bars to get food and drinks and watersports we did the jet skis. The sea is warm and safe.
Mark P — Google review
Great beach.. not sure if the entrance fee is worth it for big groups because you still have to pay for chairs or cabanas.. Very beautiful and well kept beach with a variety of activities avaliable.
HetepRaKhepr U — Google review
Pigeon Point Beach is undeniably beautiful, offering picturesque views and a relaxing atmosphere. However, there tends to be a lingering smell of rotting seaweed, which can affect the overall experience. While the water is beautiful, it's often cloudy. On the positive side, there are several food options available (overpriced), ample parking, and a range of water sports to enjoy, making it a convenient and activity-filled beach destination. Cost $20 to enter, over 60 years free.
NirzVlogs — Google review
A great beach! A nice stop with ample parking and some little shopping spots. Food can be pricey but it is fresh and tasty. There has been some seaweed but this time seaweed was limited and the water the clear and calm. It is always refreshing to stop and spend the day swimming and enjoying the beach.
Ojal R — Google review
Pigeon Point Beach is absolutely beautiful — one of the most scenic spots in Tobago! The water is crystal clear and calm, perfect for swimming and relaxing. The beach is clean, well-maintained, and has all the amenities you need — restrooms, food stalls, and places to rent chairs or do water sports. We loved walking along the jetty and soaking in the peaceful views. Truly a must-visit spot if you’re in Tobago!
Sira G — Google review
Well worth the entrance fee. Great place to pick up a boat trip to Nylon Pool and Buccoo Reef, especially if you're looking for an alternative to the bass pumping party boats from Store Bay. Great showers, bar/restaurant, sun lounger hire etc
Nick S — Google review
Great beach, beautiful waters and white sand. You can: Eat, have couple of restaurants Shops, for souvenirs etc Take boat tours, jetskies etc Swim
Rachel S — Google review
Magnificent beach that is kept very well. Lifeguards, restaurants, bars and watersports are right there. The sea was shallow and crystal clear with an area designated for swimming. Souvenir shops and parking is right next to the beach. Loved our time in Tobago and this beach saw us most days.

Perched on a hill overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Fort King George is an elevated fort built in 1781 with a rich history. The largest fortification in Tobago, it features cannons, artifacts, and a museum housed in the barracks. The complex was initially composed of around thirty buildings but was reduced to about ten after a hurricane in 1847. Visitors can take a steep fifteen-minute walk or drive up to the fort and explore its historical significance.
We visited this reasonably priced fort and museum today and it was great. The museum has many items showing Tobago's rich history but no photography is allowed inside. The fort is vast with stunning views of the rest of the island from the cannon placements and views of Scarborough from the other direction. There is plenty of parking at the fort premises. The best visit in the island so far for us, highly recommended!
Sanka I — Google review
This is a historic place to visit. The museum is small but has so much history to make it a fascinating place to visit. The power magazine is well preserved as is the well. There is the lighthouse which has been recently renovated and stands majestic on the hill. The atmosphere is very tranquil and the view is breathtaking. It is well worth a visit.
LJ L — Google review
The park is absolutely beautiful with breathtaking views overlooking the sea. It's peaceful, well-kept, and manicured, perfect for a relaxing stroll. There are lots of historic cannons, benches to sit and take in the scenery, and informative signage about the site's history. I even visited at night and the views were just as stunning. There's security on site, washrooms available, and parking is no issue. A great spot for both history lovers and anyone just looking to unwind with a view. The park seems to always be open as we visited before sunrise and at midnight.
NirzVlogs — Google review
A historical spot which showcases the strategic position of this location. Vast panoramic views of the ocean and coast line. These grounds are well kept. A light sits at the highest point. There is a small museum as well. Worth visiting this historic spot.
Fulldistance G — Google review
On a holiday, the museums are closed, but the property is open. We almost had the entire place to ourselves. The picturesque property is the perfect photo opportunity to remember your trip to this beautiful island.

Lovely views and you can also visit the museum if that's in your interests

Great historical site. Peaceful. The entire area was kept clean, landscape well manicured with detailed information on buildings. The fort sparks lively discussions on the operations in its time! On my visit, there was a small birthday group and a wedding party taking photos.

Tobago Main Ridge Forest Reserve is a lush, mist-covered rainforest that stretches down to stunning coastlines. It's a haven for birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts, with diverse animal and bird life. The area also offers opportunities for hiking along trails like the Gilpin Trace trail and swimming in the refreshing pools near the famous Argyle Waterfall.
Not for the unfit. Wonderful journey when the sun is shining. If the rain is falling, be very careful. Cellphone coverage in most parts of the forest. Enjoy the experience. There is a waterfall ahead...

So beautiful, driving through this lush area

They say this is the oldest protected rainforest in the western hemisphere. It is not. It's the oldest PROTECTED rainforest in the western hemisphere. Apart from that it's a really beautiful piece of nature. You can take a long walk there when you get tired of lying on the beach under the hot sun. It's very relaxing and refreshing experience that gives you energy to continue your tropical holiday. :)

An absolute treasure of nature. Features a host of wildlife to be discovered with every visit. Perfect for those who love hiking, bird watching , waterfalls etc. Taking a guide is always a bonus to learn some interesting facts. I encourage all those who visit to leave it as they found it and help preserve this natural oasis on this great island of Tobago
Ameika L — Google review
The flora there was absolutely beautiful. The wild life, the surroundings, the air, just overall a stunning place.

Friendly and knowledgeable guides available to take visitors on the numerous trails. The area is also easily accessible with well maintained roads. Great experience.
Tafara S — Google review
Our guide was Fitzroy Quamina. He allowed us to go our own pace. We started with the intention of making it a 3 hour tour, but for the pace we were going, he gave us the option to make it a four hour tour, which we needed. It was nice to have that time to see all the birds, natural beauty and excursions to water falls that Fitzroy revealed for us. His rates are very reasonable. He doesn't have an email address so you have to call him. If you do a search on his full name and 1895 or 2524 you'll find pages with his contact info. The attached pic has Fitzroy showing us one of the off-trail waterfalls.

Englishmans Bay is a picturesque and secluded inlet with a sandy shoreline and stunning ocean views. Tucked away in a crescent shape against lush green forests, this off-the-beaten-track gem offers an idyllic setting for beach lovers. The deep aquamarine waters are perfect for swimming and snorkeling, while the palm-fringed sands provide a tranquil spot to relax and unwind.
Gorgeous beach with good snorkeling on the right side of the bay as you face out . Showers for only $3TTD, Restaurant and souvenir shop. Hardly anyone there both times we visited.

Very beautiful beach in Tobago. The water is blue/green in colour. There is a bathroom and a very few vendors. This beach is usually quiet. Car park is available. It is very relaxing.

I can’t say enough about this amazing hideaway the restaurant there is perfect the views and water are absolutely perfect. If you want to getaway from the crowd and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Tobago this is your spot!

Can't go to Tobago and not visit Englishman's Bay. Beautiful beach, great views. You must try the food at the tree house restaurant.

A beautiful beach. Blue green waters with some mossy rocks in between the sand. Kool spot for eats and drinks on the beach. Craft items also sold. The beach was a little rough the day we visited. A number of cows and goats along the road close to the beach (so cute).
Belle P — Google review
Incredibly beautiful. When we were there we had the beach to ourselves. The water is amazing and sooooo blue. Truly a scene from the movies. Would not miss this if you are coming or in Tobago.
Adam W — Google review
Beautiful secluded beach. There are only very few people on it and in the morning there's usually nobody there. You can enjoy your "private" beach alone or with someone you love. ;)
Dávid K — Google review
Wonderfully isolated beach. If driving, there is an easy-to-miss dirt road that provides access to this stunning beach. The sand is soft and the water is warm, and it's hardly ever crowded. There is even a small restaurant and souvenir shop. 100% recommend spending some time here.

A scenic beach on the north coast of Trinidad, perhaps the most popular on the island for visitors and residents alike. It is manned by a compliment of life guards to ensure the safety of all. The coconut trees offer shade from the sun to those who do not want to 'tan' their bodies.

Little Tobago, a small island off Tobago's northeastern coast, was purchased in 1908 and transformed into a bird sanctuary. It is a popular day trip destination with stunning views and comfortable accommodations. The island is known for its significance as a breeding site for various seabirds, making it a paradise for bird lovers. Visitors can take glass bottom boat trips to the island and enjoy snorkeling opportunities while exploring the rich history and natural beauty of Little Tobago.
An uninhabited speck off the northeastern coast of Tobago. They call it Bird of Paradise Island, though the birds packed up and left after Hurricane Flora crashed the party in ’63. In 1908, Sir William Ingram, a British politician with perhaps too much time and money, bought this rocky outcrop. His grand plan? Turn it into a sanctuary for the greater bird of paradise, those flamboyant creatures from New Guinea. He shipped 47 of them over, thinking they’d feel right at home. They did, until they didn’t. Today, Little Tobago is a haven for seabirds. Red-billed tropicbirds, brown boobies, and magnificent frigatebirds have taken up residence, turning the island into a bustling avian metropolis. Getting there involves a short boat ride over shallow waters, where glass-bottomed boats reveal corals and tropical fish. Once ashore, trails lead you through dry forest to viewpoints overlooking the coastline. It’s a birdwatcher’s paradise, or perhaps just a paradise for those who enjoy being watched by birds. So, if you find yourself yearning for an island escape where the main inhabitants have feathers and the nightlife consists of rustling leaves, Little Tobago awaits. Just don’t expect any birds of paradise—they’ve moved on, leaving behind an island that’s quietly thriving in their absence.
Jason B — Google review
This place is amazing. Who knew, right here in our sister isle, has a little sis with a variety of birds. Amazing

Little Tobago is truly an amazing location that’s steeped in history. The blend of captivating wildlife and breathtaking sights makes it a must-visit destination. The moderate hike to the incredible viewpoint adds an adventurous touch to the experience. Whether you’re a nature enthusiast or just seeking a memorable getaway, Little Tobago offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and exploration.
Ikechi G — Google review
Great views and nature and an excellent opportunity to see some interesting species of birds.
Dávid K — Google review
Worth a visit from Spey side. Great for bird watching and snorkeling. Also saw my first hermit crab here.
Xiaolong L — Google review
We did a guided tour with Randy. Randy met us at the Blue Waters Inn and from there we joined other tours on a glass bottom boat that took us out to Little Tobago and back (with a snorkel stop on the way back). The views are stunning (it's like you're in an Attenborough film, and actually you do see one of the locations that was included in one of Attenborough's films), so it was nice that Randy didn't rush us along, which also gave him the time to bring our attention to all the varieties of birds and their habits. Including setting up a bushnell scope to help us see what he was able to see. He doesn't have an email address, but you can find his contact info by searching for Randy, Tobago and 3216.

Waterfalls
Argyle Falls is a renowned waterfall located in Tobago, known for its three-level drop of 175 feet into a series of pools surrounded by lush jungle. The hike to the falls from the trailhead off Tobago's Windward Main Road near Roxborough Village takes about 15-20 minutes and can be steep at times. Visitors have the option to hire a local guide for this excursion.
Well maintained trail. The waterfall was beautiful with multiple layers to explore. Walk with a life jacket(for none swimmers) to get the full experience of the pools. You pay a fee at the bar to enter the trail. $50 pp for locals and $60 pp for foreigners
Roshan S — Google review
Beautiful three tier waterfall, with a pool to swim in underneath. It's a short easy hike through the jungle to reach it. Entry fee to access the trail is TT$30. You can walk the trail on flip flops or barefoot, but would recommend shoes, especially for the part close to the falls and if you want to climb to the higher tiers. It was not busy when we were there, but I can imagine it will be crowded when there are cruise ships at the island.
Ruud H — Google review
Definitely worth a visit. You can take the guided tour or you can go up yourself, but Mr Brookes (one of the guides) is very knowledgeable and can tell you about the different plants and history of the estate. Fairly easy trial, you may want to bring water shoes for the rocks.
J R — Google review
Three-tiered waterfall. The main lake is up to 6m deep. You can swim there, jump from second floor and feed the fish. 60ttd entrance includes guide who shows you the way from parking. It is about 20minutes trek thru jungle, crossing small river by feet.
Milos B — Google review
Back in Tobago with 18 family and friends this year. Argyle Falls is always a must and we go there before it got crowded so had it to ourselves. There had been a lot rain so the pool was a little cloudy but that didn’t stop the fun 🇹🇹❤️🇹🇹❤️🇹🇹❤️🇹🇹
Steve C — Google review
So calm and peaceful Would definitely recommend wearing sneakers if you would like to hike higher up the waterfall. Water is a bit muddy after rainfall but otherwise a great 10-15 hike.
Ashanti Q — Google review
Although there were a lot of nay sayers about taking the trip to the waterfall; I was determined to see it. It was a rainy day but my determination paid off. There was a guide and with his help; my daughter & I went all the way up to the pond/basin and we were able to see the 3 falls. It would have been very dangerous to proceed any further due to the rain & the slipperyness of the trail. We were very thrilled to see the “Argyle Falls”. What a blessing!
Esther C — Google review
The photos do not do it justice. Incredible multi level falls just a short hike from the main road. Entry was 60 for adults 30 for kids. You can swim in the pool after hiking up a semi difficult muddy path (complete with ropes) to the top.

Nestled in the Northern Range of Trinidad, the Asa Wright Nature Centre is a haven for nature enthusiasts and bird-watchers. With over 400 species of native birds, 55 reptile species, 25 amphibians, and an abundance of butterflies and flowering plants, it's a paradise for wildlife lovers.
I expected to fall in love and my expectations were exceeded. Quietly tucked away in the mountains, surrounded by mostly untouched landscape, the nature center is perfect for those of us who need to escape the hustle and bustle of our normal lives to spend some time relaxing and reconnecting with ourselves. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the cooks were skillful, and the staying in center itself felt like I was being hugged by nature for my entire trip. If a visit/stay here has been on your mind, I strongly recommend that you make it a reality.
Darion M — Google review
We’ve visited Asa Wright about five times over the last 15 years, so we were excited to book a day pass over the phone. The booking process through customer service was quick and straightforward. The drive from Arima was smoother than expected, and entering the property was simple. We were greeted with chilled, citronella-infused towels and refreshing juices — a lovely touch. It’s been over a decade since our last visit, and the renovations are stunning. The property has a beautiful, natural charm, and the staff are friendly, courteous, and well-informed. We received a brief tour of the main house before being invited to explore the grounds while waiting for our walking tour. To our disappointment the hummingbird feeders are no longer at eye level on the veranda — something we had been looking forward to sharing with our kids. While there were feeders in the lower area, it was harder to appreciate the birds’ details from that distance. Also, there weren’t any 4 legged animals for us to observe as there were employees doing work around the house. Our walking tour with Mukesh (he was friendly and welcoming) was not what it used to be. Prior visits left us proud to be Trinis, to have this beautiful part of the country in our land. The tour this time was not as detailed and lacked the entertaining information which was very disappointing. By the end, we were ready for lunch, and though the buffet options were delicious, the lack of a kids’ menu for the cost of a day pass felt like a major oversight, especially as the children weren’t interested in the local dishes. AW used to be the ultimate Trini experience. Now it’s clearly all about profit and less about nature. This and other issues we had will makes it unlikely we’ll return.

Went to celebrate my son’s birthday and had a wonderful time. Staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and that we had everything we needed, even surprised us with a slice of birthday cake. The center is absolutely beautiful and we loved seeing all the wildlife and various trees. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and did an excellent job showing us around. My son’s favorite part was swimming in the natural pool, though it was freezing cold. Food is delicious. Overall it was a 10/10 experience and would definitely recommend visiting.

We were welcomed with a refreshing glass of juice and offred tea, coffee and cocoa tea. The cocoa tea was delicious. The guides were wonderful. They were friendly and well informed. The food was delicious. The only issue was the rain, and that is a rainforest issue, not an Asa Wright issue. NB:The road from Arima is much better than the last time I went.

Caroni Bird Sanctuary, the largest mangrove wetland in Trinidad & Tobago, is a protected nature preserve home to over 100 bird species. Visitors can take boat tours to explore the sanctuary and observe spectacular birds such as the scarlet ibis, large-billed tern, and snowy egrets. The sanctuary plays a crucial role in supporting diverse bird species and marine life within the mangrove ecosystem.
Scenery is breathtaking. Lovely to go to. Just walk with your Odomos or the likes. Those mosquitoes come out in the nightfall on return.

Visited in December 2024 and enjoyed the tour. I was expecting more birds at the start of the tour but quickly realized that the highlight was the end when all the different species flew in for their night roosting. Going through the swamps we encountered a boa and a caiman. The flying of the Scarlet Ibises is spectacular as well as the American Flamingos. I would definitely recommend to a first time visitor to T&T even if you aren’t necessarily a birder.

The Caroni Bird Sanctuary is an absolute treasure and a must-visit for nature lovers and adventurers! From the moment you set off on the guided boat tour through the winding waterways, you’re surrounded by the stunning beauty of Trinidad’s mangrove ecosystem. The lush greenery, tranquil waters, and rich biodiversity create a truly magical atmosphere. The highlight, of course, is witnessing the majestic scarlet ibis return to their roosts at sunset. Watching these vibrant birds in their natural habitat is a breathtaking experience that words can hardly capture. The knowledgeable guides are fantastic, sharing fascinating insights about the sanctuary’s wildlife, mangroves, and the delicate balance of this ecosystem. The sanctuary is also home to an incredible variety of birds, crabs, snakes, and other wildlife, making it a paradise for photographers and wildlife enthusiasts. The peaceful boat ride itself is incredibly relaxing, and the views of the sky as it transitions from day to dusk are unforgettable. Caroni Bird Sanctuary is a perfect blend of education, adventure, and natural beauty. It’s a serene escape that will leave you with a deep appreciation for Trinidad’s ecological wonders. Highly recommended – five stars all the way!

Kalpoo Tours was excellent. Ravi and his crew did a great job of keeping everyone entertained and informed. The pineapple chow was also good. Before putting pepper in the chow, the guide asked for those who do not want pepper. So everyone was able to enjoy. You’re on the boat for about 2 hours. Ample parking there and it’s free. Well this place is no secret in Trinidad. It is a special place where you can go and get a boat tour. The prices range and is different for tourists, locals and kids. However it is very affordable. You can book with a tour guide (there are at least two to choose from). Parking is available and boats left on time. Basically you go through the river slowly, the tour guide points out various plants, trees, places and animals. The boat ride is not rough, it is very gentle. It is very scenic and I highly recommended visiting this place. Just remember to walk with insect repellent and possibly a hat to shade from the sun. Once you enter deeper in the river you are mostly shaded from the sun by the trees.

Super cool experience getting to ride through this special habitat and witness huge flocks of scarlet ibis (the national bird) returning to their mangrove trees at the end of the day. Guide was lighthearted and our fellow passengers were fun and kind, notably sharing beers with us to enjoy with them on the ride back to the dock during sunset. Definitely a worthwhile activity in Trinidad :)

Unforgettable experience! Such beauty and fun. I visited the Caroni bird sanctuary with naan tour, it was a very enjoyable experience. Going through the swamp and seeing the scarlet bird and 🦩 flamingos. The pictures and videos cannot do it justice. It is one of those experiences you just have to be present for. It brought such calm to my mind in the boat being surrounded my beautiful scenery. The tour was very safe and the tour guide was also very knowledgeable. The persons on the boat some of whom I never knew before was also very entertaining laughing together and enjoying the beauty of the sanctuary. Never thought I would enjoy bird and nature watching as much as I did. I was a bit concerned about mosquitoes and other bugs since I have extremely sensitive skin and went on the evening tour, however I can safety report no bugs stunk/bit me. Lol. Everyone should go at least once and carry snacks/water when you do go. The entire tour was about 2 hours long from 4pm to 6pm. You will be on a boat which first goes through the swamp and then into the open ocean and see the island the birds go to.

Tobago is a serene Caribbean island known for its sandy beaches, lush tropical forests, and vibrant diving sites. The island has a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere where locals and tourists coexist harmoniously, enjoying the same beaches, bars, and nightclubs. Tobago's culture is celebrated through events like the Easter goat races and the annual Heritage Festival in August.
A trip around the island of Tobago is worth it.Breath taking views of the island. Warm and friendly people.

Stayed in Charlotteville, a beautiful village in Tobago overlooking Man O'War Bay. The local people have their fishing boats in the bay and are more than happy to transport you to Pirates Bay and Lovers Bay or for fishing trips. I would highly recommend asking for Jagga. He is very reliable and good fun and knows the best places to fish. Everybody is really friendly and there is a lovely laid back atmosphere. Fabulous swimming and so relaxing

An small island that is relatively undisturbed and unknown to most travelers. Unlike other Caribbean islands it is unspoilt, lacks a oversaturated tourism industry and is full of empty beaches. If you're looking for the exotic vacation of a lifetime where you'll make local friends and want to come back for more than Tobago is your place to be.

This island ok for traveler want to do kite surfing, a lot of winds in pigeon point beach and not crowded. If you have been to South East Asia, the beaches and scenery not as good as over there. This island good for introduction to American or European about tropical island and rain forest due to the distance.

Disclaimer, I'm not sure how to rate an entire island, also I love Tobago so I might be a little bit biased. Tobago is a lovely place on a whole to just chill and relax, with its laid back atmosphere, and plenty outdoor activities and festivals. It's (fairly) easily accessible from Trinidad by ferry and plane. I do recommend to bring foodstuff with you though, as everything is considerably more expensive than Trinidad.

Lovely unspoilt beaches, magnificent views and very friendly people. We were welcomed everywhere we went. There are still restrictions in place, so some activities are restricted, or not open, but it was still an amazing visit.

Oh Tobago! Still a very sleepy island where birds crowd to catch a glimpse of exotic bird-watchers 😊 Here you can find many beautiful beaches with not a single person around depending on the time of day or night you visit. You literally can have an entire beach all to yourself! If you're tired of being alone at the beach, join a group tour to the Buccoo reef and Nylon pool. The local guides onboard Power glass-bottomed boat are fun, friendly and well-informed! Warning! Their enthusiasm and genuine care for guests will keep you going back for more!

This area is home to popular beaches like Pigeon Point and Store Bay, where visitors can enjoy swimming and indulge in local snacks such as crab dumplings. Additionally, the region features quieter stretches of sand along the smart hotel coast, glass-bottom boat tours to Buccoo Reef, and opportunities for surfing due to strong currents.
Store Bay is hands down one of the best beaches in Tobago! The water is always crystal clear and clean, with the most stunning shades of blue that look straight out of a postcard. It’s perfect for swimming, relaxing, or just soaking in the breathtaking views. I believe you can also snorkel here The beach is well-maintained and has a vibrant atmosphere, with plenty of local vendors selling delicious local food, drinks from bar nearby, icecream and souvenirs. The water is amazing - so clear and clean. I enjoyed shopping and buying souvenirs at the many stalls that are located here. You will be able to buy clothing, jewelry, and artifacts. If you're driving, park in the parking lot and not on the street, it's a better place to leave your car. We ordered the infamous curry crab and dumpling dish from Miss Trim's. It was delicious. Not a lot of crab meat but the flavor of the curry is satisfying enough. And, the dumplings were the best I had. You can purchase your ticket to sail out to Nylon Pool. Make sure to go up to the ticket booth to purchase.

The National Museum & Art Gallery, formerly known as the Royal Victoria Institute, has been a prominent cultural institution since its establishment in 1892. Located in Port of Spain on Trinidad Island, this museum boasts a diverse collection of over 10,000 items that encompass art, natural history, and social history. The museum's Victorian-era-style building houses seven major galleries featuring exhibits on local artists' works, economic history, geology collections, and Trinidad's Carnival arts.
Trinidad history is something some of us are not fully educated about. The National Museum & Art Gallery is the place to be
Kember K — Google review
The museum is one of my happy places, took my daughter for the first time and she loved it too. Not much has changed since my first visit years ago, yet every time I visit I discover something new. Hoping that with the major renovations coming up they really do this national treasure justice (and maintain it too) First time I've been allowed to take pictures inside as well. The guy at the front said, take as many as we want so we can compare when the renovations are through.
Shernell ( — Google review
Informative museum on the first floor about the history of the my twin island home. Second floor has an exhibition of paintings sculptures by local artist. Even two by my late art teacher. But MORE professional curation is greatly needed. Some of the pieces seem dusty and deteriorating. Poor lighting and uninspired installations. The WITCO sports room has not been updated with latest Trinidad athletes, the pictures are yellowing out and fading. They seem to be in the same condition as when I first saw them 35 years ago. CURATION!

We thought it was more of an art gallery, but were pleasantly surprised at the mix of natural history (animals and plants), as well as cultural history (pre and post colonisation). Maracas Beach is a popular destination for day trips from Port of Spain, just an hour-long drive away. The half-moon-shaped bay offers calm waters and well-kept surroundings with swaying palm trees and miles of white sand. It's a favorite spot for locals to relax after the yearly Carnival celebration. Visitors can enjoy the local custom of Bake & Shark, a Trinidadian meal available from beach shacks.

Leave early (morning) to beat traffic & crowds. • Bring swim gear, sunblock, towel, water etc. so you’re not overly reliant on vendors. • Try the bake & shark but maybe also check less crowded stalls if you want a more relaxed food experience. • Check the weather / surf forecasts. If too windy or rough, your experience in the water may be less enjoyable. • Be sure to enjoy the drive up — there are look-outs or spots for photos.
Amrit D — Google review
This is one of the nicer beaches on mainland Trinidad. If you're a tourist, it's a must visit. Welcoming to all types of people and very beautiful. Toilets are $5 to use, which is ok if they can keep them clean. Drinks and food is available to buy if hungry. Guys on the beach are very polite even if you don't want to buy. Just needs a hotel, bars and and 2 or 3 shopping centres building in the local area to boost tourism. The route up the mountain to the beach is a fantastic drive but needs to be controlled better as the local drivers need driving lessons.
William M — Google review
My favourite beach to visit. First time during the rainy season in May. Bake and shark, love the scenic view on the way winding down into the bay. It's changed very much over time. Lots more stalls on the beach now which is different. I still enjoy tumbling in the waves. It's not a relaxing swim but more of a workout in the sunshine and liming. Had some cute coconut cocktails in the van on the road. Wave after wave!
Maria — Google review
I’ve been to many countries and beaches, and I wouldn’t put this one in my top 5 or even top 10. It’s a nice beach to spend some time on while visiting the island, but Tobago is much better known for its beaches. The water here wasn’t especially clear or blue, and the waves made swimming less enjoyable. We came on a cruise ship tour that cost about $70 per person for only 2.5 hours at the beach. Sunbeds and umbrellas were not included—we paid $20 extra—and even showers weren’t part of the package. Getting back on the bus was frustrating because no one told us you can’t board wet, so without dry clothes or towels it became an issue, especially since the ride back to the ship was about 1.5 hours. There were a few snack and food vendors around, but overall the experience felt overpriced and underwhelming. For me, this beach earns about 3.5 stars at best.
Marta S — Google review

Absolutely a highlight for anyone visiting Trinidad or locals hanging out. I think it’s popular for a reason as it has some of the best food spots of any of the beaches on the island and the water is calm and picturesque.

Queen's Park Savannah, also known as the Savannah, is a sprawling green space that spans about 3.7 kilometers in perimeter and serves as the heart of Port of Spain. It is famous for being the focal point of Carnival, with the Grand Stand hosting vibrant masqueraders showcasing their stunning costumes each year. The park is surrounded by notable attractions such as the Victorian-style mansions known as the Magnificent Seven, Emperor Valley Zoo, and the striking National Academy of the Performing Arts building.
Its one of the best spots to relax and enjoy the outdoors in Port of Spain. It’s huge, open, and great for a walk, jog, or just lounging around. The area is well-kept, with plenty of green space and beautiful views, especially in the evenings when the sun starts to set. I also attended a yoga session there, and it was a great experience. The peaceful atmosphere and open space made it the perfect setting to unwind and connect with nature. It’s a popular spot for families, fitness enthusiasts, or anyone just looking to relax. There are also lots of food vendors around, so you can grab a quick bite or drink while enjoying the view.

The treasure and social center of Port of Spain. Visiting again after 45 years and expecting the same beauty is obviously unfair and mostly intact, however the barracks, placed probably for the carnival could have been a better taste, reflecting local architecture, and should have been removed by now. It is sad to see that the evenings are not safe anymore in the park, so sad (and bad for local business and for tourism).

This is a park considered the World's Largest Roundabout. It is a refreshing spot in Port of Spain. You can go exercise outdoors in the late afternoon or evening as it gives a better weather by then, it's cooler and street vendors are around. A missed opportunity for locals and tourists who are interested in Cacao, a superfood, that is native to the twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago. The phones were out of service and there was no other way of making an appointment other than visiting. The facilities were closed and there was no sign of any activity or notices. It is unfortunate that given the unique flavor of the cocoa in the island, efforts are not made to support the local industry.
David M — Google review
The place is located in a completely different location, near the Argyle Falls, keep in mind. And google won't switch the location to the proper one. As for the estate, it's really nice, though definitely not worth the money they charge for tours. I thought we'll see and smell the process of fermenting of seeds but what you see are just the boxes for it and then the dried seed. Plus for a chance to taste them. After the experience of seeing, smelling and hearing of tour at tea estate in Sri Lanca i expected something of similar kind here. And don't expect to see the process of making their famous chocolate 'cause that is made in France! After all it was a nice trip but i'd rather say there are better ways to spend your 120TT$

What a welcome!I We walked through on the damp leaves covering the trail - Cocoa trees on the left and on the right, these interspersed with signs indicating names of other species of plants on the Estate. An especially majestic sight was the path to the gazebo lined by colorful croton plants. These plants stood as sentries pointing to the throne of rest and respite. Pausing on my way to the Gazebo, I saw the 'dirt oven', a relic (a useful one) of time past. A reminder of our heritage and our ancestors, Thank you Frankie for being my guide. The Piparo Mud Volcano erupted in February 1997, causing the residents of Piparo village to evacuate as their homes were submerged by mud. The majority of the village was covered with over a square mile of hardened mud resembling concrete, leaving lasting evidence of the destruction. While no immediate danger is associated with the volcano today, visitors can witness gray mud bubbling up through various fissures in the ground. Exploring this peculiar phenomenon offers an intriguing and unusual day trip opportunity.

Piparo was the site of a large mud volcano eruption on February 22, 1997. The eruption covered an area of 2.5 km² and displaced 31 families. The mud volcano now lies inactive where the eruption took place. An interesting site, with an elevated view of the surroundings due to the mud build up of the plateau but there are no public facilities.

Yerettê, also known as "Home of the Hummingbird," is a renowned visitor attraction located in Trinidad's Maracas Valley. This private home offers a mesmerizing opportunity to observe thirteen different species of hummingbirds that frequent the area. The vibrant gardens and terrace are adorned with numerous sugar-water feeders, attracting these tiny birds that perform captivating aerial displays while engaging in intricate courtship rituals.
We recently took a quick trip to Trinidad and visited this unique place. It is located in a residence of Mr and Mrs Ferguson, located in the hills of Maracas St Joseph with some steep inclines so be prepared for the drive. We received a lecture about the fascinating humming birds of 🇹🇹 as well as a delicious breakfast featuring local dishes and sorrel/ teas. We were lucky enough to see the rare Tufted Coquette (the small humming bird with the cool orange colored “hairstyle!”) and I captured an image to share. Photographers, birders and folks up for a unique local experience will appreciate this place. I’m embarrassed to say I was not familiar with this place before as it has been around for 13 years.

Ideal location to experience nature and especially Hummingbirds in their natural habitat. Easily accessible from the main road. We choose the full lunch option and it was delightful 😊
Marilyn L — Google review
I found Yerette home of the hummingbird the night before our visit. Theo was a great host and incredibly knowledgeable about hummingbirds and even got my husband interested in these precious birds. They receive 100s and sometimes 1000s of birds at their home depending on the time of the year. It is definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Gloria treated us to authentic Trinidad cuisine for lunch and I must say it was simply scrumptious.
Amber R — Google review
Amazing and beautiful views of not only the property on site but also the surrounding forest/mountains/hills. A delicious light lunch was served. Everyone was very welcoming and pleasant to speak with. Theo was an outstanding teacher, not only teaching us about the hummingbird but also about the history of Trinidad & Tobago and many other topics that all intertwine and make sense for our reasons to be there. I would highly recommend Yerette Home of the Hummingbird to anyone visiting Trinidad and Tobago.

Beautiful location, I saw lots and lots of hummingbirds. I learned so much on these amazing birds. I really enjoyed Mr. Theo’s presentation. It was fun, captivating and his voice is really soothing. The food was delicious and they provide refreshments. Highly recommend this location. It’s not just for observing hummingbirds but also learning so many awesome things about them.

This was the highlight of our cruise and didn't disappoint us. The talks were interesting and the pictures stunning. Everyone was really friendly as well as being helpful. The Hummingbirds were everywhere not just on the feeders. Such agile little creatures in so many colours and sizes. Most definitely well worth a visit.
Bridget S — Google review
Yerette has to be one of the most understated and excellent eco experiences in Trinidad. You don’t need to be a bird enthusiast or hummingbird lover to fall in love with this ethereal garden. Here you will get incredible bird value for money spent. There are 15 different species of hummingbirds that live here. All that’s required is 3.5 - 4 hours and trust me that time will feel like an investment in the end. Yerette receives visitors year round from all corners of the globe just to catch a glimpse of our local hummingbird beauty. I am not a birder. However, I am someone who appreciates fresh air, green spaces, natural beauty, wildlife and colour. If you’re in Trinidad for work, Carnival or visiting friends/family and want to squeeze in something extra to take back, let it be this informative, outdoorsy one (with some tasty treats at the end). Quite possibly the most aesthetically pleasing cheesepaste sandwich ever (if you’re there for the tea time session). Payment is with cash only.

Pirate's Bay is a secluded and unspoiled beach in Tobago's northern region, accessible by a long flight of steps or by boat. It offers stunning views, gleaming pink sand, and crystal-clear blue waters, making it a paradise for nature lovers. The beach is known for its swimming and snorkeling opportunities. Additionally, it is a nesting site for turtles, with organized trips available to witness this natural wonder with trained guides who ensure minimal disturbance to the laying process.
Beautiful! I absolutely loved this beach. It was picturesque, the waters were calm, and there were only a few people along the beach. When you enter the water there is an initial “dip” in the depth, but it quickly levels out. If you are with small children I’d recommend staying closer to shore. Most visitors accessed it by boat; however, I took the land route - which was not super difficult. I’d recommend it, if you can manage a few flights of stairs/incline. There’s a gentleman who sells coconuts and chair rentals, if needed, but it’s a stress-free, no hassle environment.

The dirt road is a bit dangerous so you should park the car in the village and walk for about 30 minutes. Nice views on the hike and the beach.
Muris D — Google review
Beautiful beach with A1 snorkeling. You need to bring your ovn supplies, since there is no vendors on the beach. If your lucky the chair guy is at the beach, and provides beach chairs at a rate around 25tt pr chair. The walk is 15 minutes each way. Including 157 steps on the long staircase but it s definitely worth it

Make the effort to reach this beach with a small boat from Charlotteville Pier. Paradise location, away from everything and the perfect day trip for my family. Take everything with you as no shops or facilities which also adds to the beauty of the place.

Take a boat from the pier in Charlotteville the locals are helpful and will assist in finding you a boat if needed. This beach is dreamy, no facilities or food, so buy in Charlotteville before you leave. Just 5 minutes around the headland you reach this beach. My family loved it.
Mickie D — Google review
Awesome beach tucked away in a cove next to Charlotteville. Take a boat from the pier to reach or take a 10-15 minutes walk along the cliff side. Stock up at the shop in Charlotteville as no facilities but a peaceful unspoiled tropical paradise place. Water was crystal clear and snorkeling is A1.
Marlon H — Google review
Undeniably...without a doubt, the most beautiful public beach in T&T! The walk in from the village is moderately difficult but not too long. Taking a boat is also an option, but they charge based on what they think you can pay. If you are taking a boat, I would recommend that you ask them as well about taking you to Pink Sand Beach, which is only accessible by boat.

The most beautiful beach in Tobago. Quiet, serene and crystal clear waters. This is definitely my go to beach when I’m in Tobago from now on. There is 2 ways you can get to the beach via boat or via 1000 stairs, either way take note that it’s totally worth it.

Mount St. Benedict Abbey, a functioning Catholic church established in 1912, is situated in the northwestern town of St. Augustine in Tunapuna. The early 19th century abbey features a seminary and a guest house where visitors can stay or enjoy afternoon tea. A gift shop on-site offers various items including candles for lighting within the abbey, while holy water is also available to take home.
Amongst my favorite hikes in trinidad for its view and lush landscape, and relatively safe nature due to it always having hikers on the path. Not for the unfit, the ascent to the top is challenging and get steeper as you go. Stay hydrated and carry salt prunes.

Very peaceful place and it’s always clean and well kept. Glad to see most people treat the holy grounds with respect. Also if you’re adventurous there’s a beautiful trail behind the church called Mt. Tabor. Recently they started closing the gates at the bottom of the hill after 6pm so keep that in mind.

Nice place to visit while in Trinidad. Easy access by car, no need to pay for tickets to visit the place and you have a good panoramic view of Port of Spain. Spectacular views! This place is free to the public and perfect for a peaceful view of the city. The views are incredible. There is a long winding road uphill to get to the top. The place is a bit lonely so be alert. However it is so beautiful, perfect to have a picnic 🧺 and take pictures. The place is well maintained, there are of course old cannons and even a jail cell. I love walking around and exploring inside the jail and taking pictures by the cannons. There is very a toilet located on the property and parking. I highly recommend visiting here!

Angostura is a renowned distillery in Trinidad, famous for producing Angostura Bitters and fine rums. Visitors can take a tour of the distillery to learn about the history and process behind these beloved beverages. The tour includes a visit to the downtown area, Magnificent Seven, Queens Park Savannah, and House of Angostura where the bitters are made. The tour also features a museum, history insights, and a giant butterfly collection.
Angostura offers a a very informative & educational tour of their distillery. The process and the secrecy behind their bitters is fascinating. The butterfly museum withing the facility is remarkable. I had no idea there were butterflies bigger than my hand. If you can, ask for Jeffrey Sang as your tour guide. He's knowledgeable, friendly, and funny.

Good tour guide, Unfortunately this is the ONLY distillery tour I've ever done where you can't taste anything of the products. Wouldn't mind to pay for it, but that it's the core of the whole business, so kind of weird they don't offer you an opportunity to taste what they make 😅🙃.
Sanne B — Google review
PLEASE know that this tour does not include tastings!! Not of any rum or even bitters! I have been to distilleries all over the world and never could have fathomed that one would not include tastings! Like who would buy their rum without being able to sample it? That’s the entire reason to visit the distillery! To make matters worse, the prices were exactly $0.15 less than in any grocery store in Trinidad! They could have offered at least a 10% discount! I would NEVER recommend this tour. No wonder no locals have ever been. It’s a complete waste of time.

Very nice 2 hour tour. We were finally able to join after a few attempts in the past years. You must be at least 8 people or be able to fit in with another group to have the tour. Wasn't mentioned on the ad or at the time of reservation, but tour is about 10$ U.S. but worth the time. Distillery, Museum, history and giant butterfly collection all in one. Finish the tour with a Rum tasting where everyone in the tour gets much friendlier... We were also able to buy their rum and bitters at the store when we finished, but unfortunately it's not true that they have better prices then at the duty free shop. Duty free was a couple of dollars less. Enjoy the tour!

Emperor Valley Zoo, situated next to the Botanic Gardens in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, is a must-visit zoological park offering an exciting day out for families. It houses a diverse range of animals such as giraffes, tigers, giant tortoises, and various primates. Visitors can also spot local and exotic species like lions and different types of monkeys. The zoo provides interactive experiences for children, including the opportunity to feed some of the friendlier animals.
I enjoyed visiting a lot. I went alone and it was a very peaceful walk through to see all the animals. There were shops available for drinks / food / souvenirs. I enjoyed seeing so many animals you don't usually get to see in zoos in United States.
Rachael K — Google review
Thanks to Christian, my husband and I as well as my friends from NYC had a very educational & wonderful time. He gave an experience that exceeded my husband's and my 1st visit to the zoo. This was, according to my friend, one of the best zoo visits she's had due to the mini your as well as petting experience. What I would like to say to SOME of the visitors to the zoo is STOP TAKING GOD'S CREATIONS FOR GRANTED & SHOW APPRECIATION. You can do this by adherence to zoo rules/policies by NOT FEEDING THE ANIMALS. It's cruel! They die and there's so much red tape in getting new animals to the zoo to "entertain" you. Also, be considerate of shooting off fireworks and bamboo.... it spooks the animals literally to death. They can get so scared they run wild to their death. Think about this... God gave you a brain more vast than those animals; be appreciative and use it 😉
Adenike J — Google review
Well... I hate to give bad news about this place... but maybe the zoo will read this and make some changes before they close for good! The zoo need real help. The animal feces smell is all over the primate section and is inescapable, espescially on the humid rainy days. The signage on the exhibits are missing and poorly done. The larger animals look uncomfortable for sure and have no recourse from the heat. The aquarium...oh please stop calling it that!. Its just a few fish tanks with some freshwater species. The tanks need to be cleaned up, so the fish can be better displayed. The airconditioning in this space is a lovely escape from the stench of mamalian species areas, so that is a huge plus. Lots of the animal exhibit spaces are missing animals. Why??! The best parts of the zoo are the birds, zebras,& tigers. There are also many native food tree species in the zoo as well. Make the place more interactive by adding website maps, contol the odors, and add some saltwater fish species and other local wildlife along with the areas they are found in nature. This place could be such a national treasure! I remember this zoo from when I was a child. It was such a pleasant experience. I brought my own family here this week- 45 years later. I was embarassed at the condition of the place. Have some Trini Pride man, and fix this place up to modern tourist zoo standards. I would love to come back when things have improved. Thanks for reading and I really hope all-yuh do someting good for de place soon.

About 15 years ago, I took some expats to this zoo and it was actually quite nice— a little dated, but reasonably well maintained. On our recent visit to Trinidad, we decided to take our kids, thinking it would be a fun family outing. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The only real positive was the free parking. Given the island’s constant humidity, it would be a huge improvement if management installed misting stations throughout the grounds. This would make the visit much more comfortable. Instead, the entire zoo had an overwhelming odor of animal waste—particularly near the wild boar section, where the smell was almost unbearable. Basic facilities were also an issue. There wasn’t a single working sink with running water; most of the pipes were broken, with faucet handles just spinning in place. On the bright side, the animals were fairly active, and our kids enjoyed seeing some of the local wildlife, including snakes, turtles, deer, and agouti. Overall, the zoo has potential, but it’s clear that significant upkeep and investment are needed to bring it back to a standard that both locals and visitors can appreciate.

Lots of animals, not kept in the best environments. Chimpanzee was alone just hugging a blanket. I visited twice in 3 days and never saw the Chimpanzee being interacted with, Very sad as I saw a lot of staff stood around on mobile phones. Disappointed given it's size and number of animals etc, staff just did not seem interested or engage with customers. I won't visit again nor would I recommend.

Visited recently after many years and I welcomed the few updates I noticed. The tents and benches added a touch of much needed comfort and a place to rest. Even though I personally find it is depressing for the animals to be in the small enclosures, I have observed the little improvements to accommodate the animals. Keep up the good job!

Lots of exotic animals, reptiles and birds. Tall giraffes, snakes and caymans.

Family friendly attraction near the Savannah. Kids love the animals, though it can get crowded. Nice for an afternoon trip. Pack your own lunch as refreshments can be pricey especially if a large group of children. Your pocket will thank me. lol.

The Royal Botanic Gardens, located just outside the Port of Spain, is a serene and tranquil natural oasis spanning over 60 acres. It is one of the oldest botanical gardens globally and features more than 700 trees, including native species and those collected from all seven continents. Visitors can enjoy guided tours, bird-watching activities, and picnics amidst diverse flora. The gardens also house a small burial plot for former Governors of Trinidad since 1819.
It's been many years going to the botanical gardens. But we wanted something to do on a public holiday so we decided to visit with my daughter and she absolutely loved it. She enjoyed walking along the trails and seeing bats, butterflies, different trees and flowers and the squirrels and birds. She had a wonderful.

I'm sure we have all visited the Botanical Gardens.. but have you ever seen The Rainbow Eucalyptus? This is like nature's vibrant work of art! Its smooth, orange-tinted bark peels away to reveal a stunning array of colors—orange, gray, and purplish-brown—making it look like the tree’s wearing its own masterpiece. And let’s talk about its height: this tree towers majestically, with its long, tapering trunk stretching all the way up to the sky—truly a sight to behold. But this tree isn’t just about looks! Its leaves are packed with antiseptic properties, making them great for treating wounds. Plus, brew them into a tea and they help soothe asthma and coughs. Oh, and here’s the best part: the Rainbow Eucalyptus naturally repels mosquitoes. As someone with O+ blood (and an apparent magnet for mosquitoes), I couldn’t appreciate this more—goodbye, itchy bites! 🌈🌳🦟

Very natural and casual garden, large and nice to walk around. It is free. Nice way of spending an hour or so. Not many plants.

Awesome experience. Our stop was part of a tour so we only stayed for 20 minutes. They had public toilets which were relatively clean! The flora was great and our guide filled in the blanks! While there we saw the rainbow tree, pretty cool!

My wife and I had a wonderful time strolling through the Royal Botanic Gardens in Port of Spain. The gardens are beautifully maintained and offer a peaceful escape from the city. One thing to note is that the gardens are adjacent to the President's House, so be mindful of where you enter, as I made the mistake of getting too close and was politely approached by the guards. The gardens are also conveniently connected to the zoo, making it easy to explore both attractions in one visit. Overall, it was a great place to walk through and enjoy nature. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a relaxing and scenic outing.

Very clean and scenic area. The trees offer great shade for picnic and the bathrooms are easy to access. The gardens are closed between 5-6pm

Worth a stop. Plants weren't overly amazing but lots of birds, a decent koi pond, and a neat suspended bridge

Adventure Farm and Nature Reserve is a must-visit destination in Tobago, offering a unique experience of exploring a 12-acre working organic estate engaged in sustainable agriculture. The reserve provides an opportunity for birdwatching, with the chance to see hummingbirds, motmots, blue-grey tanagers, and more up close. Visitors can take leisurely walks along the trails to observe the diverse flora and fauna before relaxing on the viewing deck to watch the birds feeding.
This nature reserve offers plenty of opportunities to be up close with the birds. The staff would feed the birds which allows us to watch them pretty close. I very much enjoyed birdwatching and the native landscape here. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. One of them took us to show a baby humming bird.

Beautiful place to visit, it's so peaceful sitting there watching all the different species of humming birds, and other types of birds. There is also a lovely little walk around the gardens.
Cara W — Google review
An excellent location for seeing a wide variety of birds and beautifully maintained gardens and trails. We were surprised with the large variety of birds visiting the farm. We saw jacamar, hummingbirds, tanager, motmot and many others we couldn’t identify. The owner is also really friendly.

Pretty much like Paradise. A real gem of Tobago. Ean made a really wonderful place, where you can see many hummingbirds and other birds right in front of your nose. One of the places in Tobago you must have seen. Fantastic.

Gorgeous place for the whole family. Big space to explore but most importantly. the hummingbirds are so close to you! Ian -the owner amazed us with his knowledge and passion for what he does and how he looks after the place.

Admittedly, I'm not a huge nature person, but this place has definitely peeked my interests in wanting to enjoy the outdoors even more. You pay before you enter, and I believe it's just about helping to maintain the place. I got to feed bananas and seeds to the birds with my son, who really loved the experience as well.
Riyad M — Google review
I visited the Farm on 25th September 2019. On the afternoon I went I was the only visitor on the property. I spent about 2.5 hours there and it was so peaceful. I can imagine that the atmosphere is very different when there are more people about. I was invited by the staff to stay as long as I wanted. The garden was beautiful and I took my time just sitting on benches, looking at the plants and listening to the birds. I spent the last hour watching the birds feeding. It was fascinating. I know nothing about birds but even I found it interesting. I would recommend that you visit to the reserve on a dry day as the path to the garden is very steep, uneven and it is not paved. An enjoyable visit.

I've been back over and over and will be returning again. Adventure Farm is so relaxing and beautiful, from the bird, gecko and frog sounds to the fish pond and mango ice cream there's so much to enjoy that it's impossible to pick out my favourite part. The owners are very friendly and knowledgeable if you have any questions, you can definitely feel the love of nature here.

Nestled in a crescent-shaped bay, Las Cuevas Beach is a serene sandy stretch with calm waters and lush wooded hills as its backdrop. It's located on the north coast of Trinidad & Tobago, just a short drive from the more famous Maracas Beach. The beach is named after the caves and rock formations that surround it, offering opportunities for exploration and discovery of unique flora and fauna.
Arguably the best beach in Trinidad with facilities etc, highly recommend to tourists..water is clear and calm... stop at Maracas for your bake n shark and simply take the 10 mins drive up the road, SAND FLIES WILL GIVE YOU A HARD TIME ...
NICKOLAI G — Google review
Las cuevas beach is definitely a favorite for families with small children. The waves are significantly calmer than maracas. We arrived around 8.30 am and the main car park was already full so we had to park at the secondary carpark at the top. There's a steep ramp from there to the beach. At that hour, the beach was very calm and there was barely a ripple. The beach has very little shells and few stones and the water is pretty clear and we even found a sand dollar on the beach! . We rented an umbrella and 2 chairs for $140TT and stayed the day. It's less 'vibesy' than maracas and there's a lot of beach landscape so persons can spread out along the beach as they please making it less crowded looking. By midday, there was a fair amount of people. There's not as many food choices as maracas ( there's a lady selling pholourie, bake and shark, fried chicken bites and fries) at the entrance. Her food is good but it's $50 a meal and the service is slower than what you'd get at Maracas and of course, as it's a very small business she only takes cash. There's also another vendor selling pineapple chow fresh on the spot (amazing chow btw 10/10-would buy again) There's a few other carts selling ice cream and sno-cone about and another vendor selling snacks and preservatives. By 1.30pm the waves started getting 'maracas style' and we packed up to leave. Which brings me to the issue of the change rooms... The change rooms are in a deplorable condition (thank heavens they know not to charge you to use that!) The showers are pipes in broken cracks in the wall and the entire floor of the change room is a shallow pool of sand and water. It was a solid 0/10 --I will never use that restroom again. It needs a serious upgrade and they need to build some family change rooms like what's at Maracas. The facility needs a LOT of improvement. Las cuevas has a lot of potential to be as great as Maracas if they would renovate and improve the infrastructure. Update: the sandflies on the beach are excessive.walk with some bug/insect repellent and stay off the layin in the sand because our entire family had a rash from sandfly bites the next day after our visit to the beach esp our youngest who was laying in the sand making sand castles
Maria B — Google review
Las Cuevas Beach is one of the most beautiful and relaxing beaches in Trinidad. The water here is usually calm and clear, making it perfect for swimming and great for families with kids. Little to no waves usually, however depending on when you visit, I have seen it really rough at times. The beach is clean and well-maintained, with soft sand that’s ideal for lounging or taking a walk/run. You can explore some small caves along the shore. The surrounding hills and greenery give it a more secluded and natural vibe compared to some of the busier beaches. Facilities like restrooms and picnic areas are available, and there’s usually free parking close to the beach, making it very convenient. There are chairs and umbrellas for rent. The only issue which I have experienced multiple times is copious amounts of sand flies biting you as soon as you enter the beach, it's a hit or miss with this, not sure what causes it or when exactly so walk with insect repellent incase.
NirzVlogs — Google review
always a calm clean beach with good washroom, nice relax vibes
Adesh S — Google review
Very nice beach. It's usually more calm than Maracas. On sunny days, the water is crystal clear. If chairs or umbrellas are needed there are guys nearby who rents them out to you. Changing room and showers are available. Car park is small so if it is full you have to park on the road.
Nicky G — Google review
Much quieter than Maracas, with a long stretch of soft sand perfect for walking. Facilities are good with changing rooms and lifeguards on duty. Great place for a peaceful lime or picnic. If you want calm compared to Maracas, this is the spot.
Roger P — Google review
Great beach facilities. This beach is usually considered alongside Maracas and Tyrico as they are along the same north coast road with Las Cuecas being the farthest of the three when coming from the west. The parking is great unlike Tyrico and free unlike maracas. When the main car park is full there is additional parking with a nice walk way between the car park and the beach. The entire beach facility is very well built and maintained. There is a nice shower area unlike Tyrico. You can pay just 1 dollar to shower inside and use the changing rooms or you can shower outside for free. Unlike Maracas where you have to pay and the price is relatively much more. The beach itself is great. The water is very calm and clean. Tyrico beach has an estuary so while it is calm most times, it can have some debris in the water Maracas beach is usually very rough and it's turbulent waters result in the water being very sandy. Hence, Las Cuevas has the best beach out of the 3 locations. There is also a snack bar to compete with Maracas' iconic bake and shark as well as vendors selling local craft and snacks. Is it worth the extra drive after Maracas? I would say yes but you can decide.
Avinash G — Google review
Spent a couple of hours on this lovely beach. There are facilities available for changing etc. The car park is a good size but can get full really quickly. On a Tuesday at 3pm there were a couple of available spaces. Snacks and drinks are available. You can also have a massage if you like. Decks chairs can be rented. I prefer Las Cuevas as I am not a strong swimmer and the nearby Maracas Beach can be a little rough. The life guards were present. Had an amazing time. We left at 5pm but the change room facilities and the outdoor showers were closed. There was a sink and a jug which we used to rinse off the sea water with. I can wait to return to walk the long stretch of beach.

Additionally, nearby attractions include the Rio Seco Waterfall in Matura National Park, making it an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts and families alike.
Wonderful. Plenty of fascinating local creatures. caimans galore, mini-armadillos, ocelot, agouti, sally painter - huge lizard..guided with enthusiam and love by Ian Wright who helps Roy Corbin run this great conservation project. Visit lasts about 2 and a half hours. We loved it.

Hands down an amazing couple of hours. Thank you Ian and Roy for not only the tour but helping organise transport for our large group and of course your dedication to Tobago’s wildlife. For those wanting to go make sure you have enough sun protection, insect repellent on you beforehand and water. In our group we had an age range from 7yrs-76yrs. For the youngest it was a bit too hot and tiring but nothing a piggy back ride couldn’t solve. For the oldest with a dodgy knee, a walking stick helped manoeuvre the uneven ground and steepish areas.

Unique personal tour. We were shown around by Ian whose enthusiasm and candour made it engaging. The insight into the local wildlife and the issues in play gave us an interesting perspective. We had a really wonderful visit to their animal rehabilitation area - reservation via WhatsApp was smooth, Micheal was a very knowledgeable and personable guide, and we were able to interact a lot with the animals. Corbin Local Wildlife is a commendable organisation that deserves support. Well worth a visit to explore Tobago's unique eco-system.

They were super accommodating last minute, and the tour was personal and informative! It was one of the best choices we made while visiting Tobago! We recommend going when you first arrive, not at the end of your trip. What they are doing for the wildlife on their island is amazing! 100% would support again and suggest going to anyone even remotely considering it.

One of the best nature experiences in Tobago. It's like a mini zoo but the animals are well kept in natural environments (only the ponds are man-made). Yes, the animals are in enclosures but due to the crazy hunting by the citizens, I'd say they are protected in these enclosures. The tour guide, Michael, was sooo knowledgeable and friendly. He was not rattling off info in a boring manner like most guides. Unfortunately, there weren't any Armadillos in my visit but it was so amazing to see the animals. And even the animals seemed friendly and welcoming to me. Strange. The road to get here was a bit difficult and you have to drive carefully, but it's not too bad. It's amazing and good what Corbin Wildlife is doing for nature. Give them a visit. We paid $50 per person in 2023. And enjoy a wonderful nature walk.

We had the pleasure of experiencing the park as a private visit and can't say enough good things about it. Our guide was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and eager to share facts about the facility and its inhabitants. This is a great way to learn about TT's native species, conservation challenges on the island as well as a great opportunity for photos.

San Fernando Hill is a natural hill that offers breathtaking panoramic views and is equipped with a visitor center, playground, and picnic areas. The scenic lookout provides fresh air coupled with a breezy mountainous terrain, making it an ideal spot for picnics or lunch dates. Kids can enjoy the nearby Hafi Shafik Rahaman Play Park while adults can sip on corbeaux and take in the beautiful evening view.
If you’re ever in south and need a relaxing space or a spot to get the perfect sunrise or sunset, this is your spot. Always well-maintained with sufficient parking facilities. Washrooms are available as well as benches and covered tables for having lunch and maintained lawn for picnics. Keep in mind the time the gates close that wouldn’t allow you to drive to the top of the hill (you can still walk) if you’re trying to catch the sunset that’s ALWAYS breathtaking from here. What I love most is that it’s never crowded. You’ll see persons hiking the hill, walking their dogs or just taking a stroll but it’s never crowded to the point where you feel overwhelmed.

Nice spot but the authorities need to put in more effort to make this lovey park look better. It appears “beat up”. As you drive up to the top there are shaded tables with benches to have your picnic! There are more spots once you reach the top. We visited during early afternoon on a weekday so it was not at all crowed. Plenty of parking spots. There are washrooms at the top. There are no shops or vending machines there. The views are of the sea and on a clear day you might spot the tall buildings of Port of Spain. Views of the town and countryside as well.

San Fernando Hill offers a breathtaking experience, making it an ideal destination for a day out with camp students. The play park is well-maintained, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for kids to explore and have fun. Amazing must see, must do tour, if visiting Trinidad! Evening sunset tour to watch the scarlet Ibis birds roost is magical. Did this tour in the middle of Nov and got very lucky with clear skies and no rain, fortunately. Highly recommend long pants or bug spray.

10/10 experience. The tour was beautiful and our guide was well informed and took this time. It was also very very beautiful. I loved everything about it and my family members enjoyed themselves and had only good things to say. Would definitely recommend

The tour was interesting. The accommodations were comfortable. Ensure you walk with repellent, water, your own snacks abs maybe wine as the wait for the birds to roost can be a little long. Oh and a pro camera as you can't get too close to the birds

Booked the sunset scarlet ibis tour. Had a very knowledgeable guide (Kemraj?) who was excellent at spotting and pointing out wildlife. We did this in early September and had amazing luck with the vast number of ibises coming back to roost. Would highly recommend!

So the boats cud do with fixing a bit. Our tour guide was cool and great. The scenery is to die for. First time going as an adult we took our kids

Nice tour to see flamingo and scarlet ibis (from a distance). The red scarlet are SO red and we saw them at the sunset time where we stopped for about half an hour to watch them coming to a specific spot to sleep. At that time we got complimentary crisps. We were there on April which was quite sunny and hot, so a hat and a fan is recommended. There are only two companies to book the tour with. We booked with Nanan. You can also go without an advance booking. The parking employee was rude and not friendly.
Arroma1990 — Google review
Great experience I recommend it as a must see on your travel to Trinidad. You will enter a flat bottom boat and sail thru the mangrove, your guide would stop along the way to speak about the wildlife experience and your boat will end at a standstill while u wait for the flocks of scarlet ibis to fly into their nesting spaces. Meanwhile enjoy the catfish that swim to the top of the boat. Truly gorgeous Ensure you walk with a sun hat, sunblock, bug repellant and your refreshments if you like. We took local beer & Water. A small.pack of local snack was provided . But we also walked with chips and cookies.

I can't believe I have lived here for 30+ years and had never been to the Caroni bird sanctuary! Apparently January is one of the best months to go! Especially when it's dry season as the boats aren't covered and there's not much chance of rain. March-April months, the scarlet Ibises are nesting and thus there are less birds to see if you visit at that time- so keep that in mind. People!!! Hats and sunglasses are a MUST!👒🕶️ It's a sunset boat cruise yes but it's level sun in your eyes due to direction of sailing. Don't do like us and forget our hats and sunglasses home. Don't say I didn't warn you. .Definitely walk with your mosquito repellent spray and put it on before the tour starts.. especially if you're a non- national (for some reason our mosquitoes love foreigners 😂)we didn't get any mosquitos when we visited in January. The entire experience is about 3 hours long and there's lots to see. There are lots of low hanging branches so there's some 'ducking' and bending involved especially if you're sitting on either side of the boat. So *CAUTION* those with C-spine, neck or back problems) --maybe sit in the middle seats. The tour gives complimentary snacks on board while you wait at the viewing area waiting for the many Ibises to fly in. Drinks are on sale prior to departure. You can also bring your own snacks and drinks on board in a backpack but please-don't litter! 🙃 It was quite a great excursion for my family (including two kids 5 and under) They enjoyed looking at the many species of birds, a few snakes in trees (sleeping), owls and we even saw a young caiman. Life vests are on board Definitely enjoyed the tour with our Nanan's tour guide, he was very knowledgeable and funny!

The Red House in Trinidad and Tobago stands as a significant landmark and the seat of the Parliament of the twin-island nation. Located in the heart of Port of Spain, the capital city, this historic building is known for its distinctive red color, which gives it its name. The Red House has played a central role in the country's political landscape and has been a witness to many pivotal moments in Trinidad and Tobago's history. Originally constructed in the 19th century and opened in 1907, The Red House has undergone various phases of reconstruction and renovation, particularly following significant damage during the Water Riots of 1903 and again after a fire in 1990. Its architecture features Colonial-style elements that are characteristic of the period, including high ceilings, large windows, and detailed cornicing, which add to the building's grandeur and historic appeal. The Red House not only serves as the meeting place for the nation's Parliament but also symbolizes the democratic governance and cultural heritage of Trinidad and Tobago. Inside, the chambers where both the Senate and the House of Representatives convene are adorned with portraits and artifacts that reflect the nation’s history and development. Moreover, The Red House is not just a site for political activity; it also hosts various cultural and public events, providing a space for civic engagement and cultural expression. It stands as a testament to the resilience and continuity of governance in Trinidad and Tobago, embodying the spirit of the nation and its people. For visitors and locals alike, The Red House is a site of great historical and cultural significance, offering a glimpse into the vibrant political and cultural life of Trinidad and Tobago. Its ongoing role in the nation's affairs makes it a living piece of history, central to understanding the past and present of this Caribbean nation.

Visitors can observe captivating bird species like scarlet ibis, black-bellied whistling duck, and white-cheeked pintail, making it a paradise for photographers.
Loved visiting this place with my family. The satnav didn't take kindly to its location on the way initially. Due to it not being updated with the road layout. Once you arrive, you feel completely engrossed in nature as there are many birds wandering around freely. The tour was very interesting and informative, you're sure to learn something new. It will also have a very positive impact on you in regards to our role and responsibility in taking care of our surroundings. Helping nature to thrive, as this will also benefit our very own existence. I would definitely recommend as many people as possible visit the Wildfowl Trust. It's a very small fee, and it's a lovely day out for all ages.

What a beautiful space hidden in Trinidad! The tour was so informative and the tour guid was funny, pleasant, and knowledgeable on the area. The trail is a guided tour and the group must stay together. I do wish we were able to walk without a guide, but I understand the need for one. I definitely recommend!

A quiet nesting site for birds and waterfowl in Pointe-a-Pierre. Call for reservations to take the tour (twice daily), or to walk alpng the trail unguided. Many muscovy ducks and whistling ducks to see upon the path, there is a breeding site for ducks and our own scarlet ibis. . The lotus flower is prominent in the ponds , as is water hyacinths and papyrus. Picnic spots and benches are available for use too.

First time visiting and it was soooooo good! Our tour guide Wes was extremely knowledgeable. You need to go on this tour. Call to book an appointment as you can't just visit on a whim. The cost is TT$20 per adult. This is a conservation wetland, and they are doing their best to protect the various species that are native to our country and the migratory population that visit.

I visited here recently with some friends and my fiancé. He's not from here, so I was excited to see the WFT through his eyes. What a fun, peaceful and educational time we all had. The tour guides welcomed all the questions and we're very knowledgeable. The grounds were kept well! I'm definitely going back to do the gentle hiking trails. Many years since I've been to the WFT, and it still has its charm.

Relaxing nature reserve with guided tour. However tours are pretty short and only one short trail which goes around the pond. Nevertheless it's a very relaxing atmosphere and perfect for bird watchers.

I love visiting this temple and I have been visiting for over 10 years. For me it is an opportunity to visit not just the temple but the 85 ft Sri Karya Siddhi Hanuman murti, understanding and embracing the teachings of His Holiness Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji who we address as Sri Datta Nada Prabhu who is founder of the temple, the architecture and experiencing all that is the Sri Dattatreya Yoga Centre.

Beautiful experience. Right on the water. Beautiful flowers along the pathway with signs. But DO NOT PICK FLOWERS. Has explicit signs along the way.

I wanted to visit this place after having a dream . I arrived and I was greeted by a priest . The brief history could have been more informative. Over all my visit was successful.

A serene oasis in the heart of Trinidad! The Dattatreya Mandir Temple Compound is a tranquil and spiritual haven that exudes peace and harmony. The temple's stunning architecture and beautiful surroundings make it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking solace and connection with the divine. The priests and staff are warm and welcoming, and the cultural events and festivals held here are always vibrant and enriching. The compound's energy is palpable, and I felt a deep sense of calm and inner peace during my visit. Whether you're a devotee or simply seeking a quiet retreat, this temple is a treasure trove of spiritual nourishment. Highly recommended!

Every visit to the Dattatreya Temple fills my heart with devotion and peace. Standing near the towering murti of Lord Hanuman, you can feel an overwhelming sense of power, protection, and divine energy. It’s as if Hanumanji is truly present — watching, blessing, and uplifting all who come with faith. The temple grounds radiate serenity, and there's a sacred stillness that calms the mind and uplifts the soul. No matter how many times I visit, I always leave feeling spiritually recharged and deeply connected. A truly divine place. Jai Shri Ram 🙏

Very beautiful Temple with an amazing 75 foot tall Hanuman Murti. Makes a great day trip from Port of Spain. There is a nice little gift shop in which you can buy supplies for offerings, statues for your alter or flags for a jhandi. Be sure to go a few extra miles to check out the Temple In the Sea as well.
