2 hour train ride from hatyai station. We stayed for a night & went for next day 6am boat trip for 1.5hr , with 1 boat cost 550baht. The lake during dawn is so dreamy with purple and pink sky☺️ recommended to bring phone with good night photography to capture. At almost end of the trip theres this one area with lost of birds flying during sunrise..gosh, beautiful! Too bad that lotus are only few during this time because of flooding. One of the staff recommend to go in March for lotus. Our boatman is very good in taking photo & videos👍recommended to go for this boat trip at least once
Good experience! Please improve on safety! Some boats didn't provide life jacket. Please make it compulsory for tourist safety!
Awesome adventure boat ride, Best time to go is on February, where all the flowers blooming. It was drizzly and cold,Lovely experience cruising the lake. There's even Buffalo Island at the centre of the lake. Nature's at its best! I like *** There's one HALAL Restaurant by the road facing the lake. Picture attached.
The boat ride was great experience. When into rain and shine but it didn’t stop us from enjoying the scenery. Apparently there was no much lotus flower during our visit in Dec. One must come during peak blossom season on Mar-Apr month.
The boat ride from the Thale Noi Waterfowl reserve was a fantastic experience. The crewman was experienced and knowledgeable in his tour. It went for at least 35 mins which was plenty of time to see the entire bay. We missed the water Buffalo on this day however nonetheless worth a ride out.
Thale Noi's non-hunting area is a freshwater lake where the diverse birdlife and wetlands are protected. A popular destination for birdwatching, exploring the wetlands and observing the local fishermen using traditional methods to catch fish. The water lilies and lotuses that blanket the lake in late April adds to its beauty.
Worth the visit. Boat ride cost 450 Baht for 1hr. Recommend to take the boat ride before 9am to see the lotus blooming and before the sun gets too hot.
Missed the sunrise & lotus flowers opening during my last trip. But this time, to ensure that I don’t miss again, stayed at Lenox Berry cafe to wake 5am for the 530 boat trip which took about 2 1/2 hrs...the boat ride is THB900 & worth every bath😄...
