The apartment is easy to find after arriving at the bus station. Across the bridge is The Central market and all the places are at walking distance. Lot of eating place around. Apartment is cozy, clean, comfortable and very quiet. Will definitely recommend to friends. Stay: 8-11 October 2019
Great central location, great service. The staff were very responsive to help us with any issues. The room is compact and comfortable. The kitchen is a bit of a tight squeeze but is well equipped.
Great location and great price. Everything you'd need. The bedroom is separate to the main room and it has a kitchenette, it is centrally located too with a large choice of bars and restaurants close by. Even though they are close we never had any noise problems. I don't think I would go back to Ljubljana again as I think I have experienced everything it has to offer but if I did go back I would stay here again.
U will not find a better location for a city tour. Great starting place for exploring the city, especially old town. Yet, noise levels at night are very low. No problem getting sleep here. We had Appartment 2 - it had everything we hoped for.
Very nice rooms and host, location is just perfect.
Stinking, suffocating, full of insects and cockroaches ... The location is excellent
I could not get the TV work.
Clean, tidy, all the essentials. Great location.

We loved visiting Ljubljana and seeing the Dragon Bridge. Such a wide variety of things to do and see. Highly recommend the City Hotel and we enjoyed dining at Most restaurant.
Ljubljana's Dragon Bridge in Slovenia is an iconic representation of Art Nouveau architecture, drawing visitors from far and wide. The bridge's four imposing dragon statues, one at each corner, command attention. Strategically located in Ljubljana's historic center, the bridge crosses the Ljubljanica River, facilitating social exchange. Fascinating local myths surround the bridge and its dragons, such as the story that the dragons acknowledge a virgin's crossing with a subtle movement. The concrete bridge has earned the colloquial nickname 'mother-in-law' from some locals, who find the dragons' fiery demeanor both captivating and intimidating. The Dragon Bridge, a masterpiece designed by Slovenian Jurij Zaninovic, stands as a testament to the city's resilience. This stunning Art Nouveau bridge was dedicated to the 40th anniversary of Hapsburg Emperor Franz Josef's reign, with the dates 1848-1888 elegantly inscribed on its side. A symbol of hope and renewal, the bridge honors the emperor's contributions to the city's revitalization after the devastating 1895 earthquake. Conveniently located, the bridge is within walking distance of iconic landmarks like Ljubljana Cathedral, Ljubljana Castle, and the vibrant Ljubljana Central Market.
The Dragon Bridge in Ljubljana is one of the city's most iconic landmarks, symbolizing Ljubljana's identity. It is located in Ljubljana's city center over the Ljubljanica River. The bridge is famous for its four large bronze dragon statues—two at each end—and sixteen smaller dragons decorating the bridge's span.
Definitely my favorite bridge in all of Europe, because I love dragons. And this was very close and walkable to my hotel and in the center of everything there is to do in town definitely worth a stop and it even is the site of a geocache.
Nothing too special on its own, but the dragon statues are iconic and symbolic to Ljubljana. Definitely worth a quick stop and a photo if you’re exploring the city.
Impressive dragons decorate this Art Nouveau bridge that was built between 1900 and 1901 and the first with a reinforced concrete structure in town. The story goes that the dragons are tied to the Greek myth of Jason and the Argonauts, who are said to have founded Ljubljana and slain a dragon nearby.
Beautiful large green dragon statues built in 1901. Locals say tshe dragons wag their tails when a virgin crosses the bridge (a fun old joke among residents).
It's a bridge with Dragons on it. We counted at least 20. Good place for a photo. Some people may say its crowded but I'd say it has atmosphere with people stopping to take photographs or passing by as they head to the nearby cafes and restaurants.

Beautiful main square of the city centre. Truly enjoyed the bridges and the wonderful art installation of rain. Bustling with people but a lovely atmosphere. Try to get yourself a free walking tour to explain further the importance of the square and the history behind it.
This is a charming square that is the starting point for all the streets and alleys of the old city. There are lots of charming restaurants around with a relaxed atmosphere along the banks of the river. The beauty and cultural richness are evident from every angle. It's fun to wander and get lost here.
One of the most beautiful old town squares where multiple streets end here. You can follow those streets to find nice restaurants, cafés, local market, boat trips by the river, and more. Or just enjoy the walking among beautiful buildings and tiny alleyways.
A very beautiful square. A noisy tourist spot, but worth a visit. Excellent views of the embankment, Three Bridges, and the castle.
Prešeren Square is one of the most beautiful and lively places in Ljubljana. It’s surrounded by charming architecture and connected to the famous Triple Bridge (Tromostovje), which adds a unique and picturesque touch to the area. The square is impressively clean and well-maintained, making it a pleasant spot for a walk or a break. There are many cozy cafes around where you can sit, relax, and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere. The place is always full of life, with both locals and tourists passing by, which gives it a special, dynamic energy. Definitely a must-visit when in Slovenia!
1 | Prešernov trg is the central square of Ljubljana, named after the Slovenian national poet France Prešeren, whose statue stands at its center. Surrounded by important landmarks like the Franciscan Church and Triple Bridge, the square is a key meeting point and pedestrian hub in the city. 2 | A unique attraction in the square is "The Area with Ljubljana's Own Weather." It’s a spot in the middle of the round square where it’s always raining, and there’s even a traffic sign warning you about it. There aren’t many trees or shade in the square, so it gets really hot in the summer. The city addressed this by installing a water mist system. One of the artists then placed a traffic sign next to the wet pavement featuring an umbrella and a cloud. 3 | The square also features the Statue of France Prešeren, a Slovenian poet who stirred quite a bit of controversy in the first half of the 19th century. The statue itself has also been controversial, as it includes a depiction of a bare female chest. This is visible from the church in the square, which didn’t sit well with church officials. 4 | The square is definitely worth a visit — if you’re staying in Ljubljana for a few days, you’ll likely pass through it more than once. On summer evenings, you’ll often see street performers there, and the most popular one is the guy with the giant soap bubbles.
Plaza Prešeren is the vibrant heart of Ljubljana, always buzzing with life. Surrounded by elegant architecture, lively cafés, and the iconic pink Franciscan Church, it’s a perfect spot to soak up the city’s charm. Street performers, locals, and travelers mingle here, making it both a meeting point and a cultural hub. From the square, you can easily wander into the old town or cross the Triple Bridge. A must-visit for its energy, beauty, and central role in Ljubljana’s daily rhythm.
Prešeren Square is the lively heart of Ljubljana, where history, architecture, and local life meet. Surrounded by landmarks like the pink Franciscan Church, the statue of France Prešeren, and Plečnik’s Triple Bridge, it’s the perfect place to start exploring. Just a short walk away is the iconic Dragon Bridge, guarded by Ljubljana’s famous green dragons. During summer, every Friday, the center comes alive with Odprta kuhna (Open Kitchen) — a vibrant open-air food market offering dishes from all over the world. In the mornings, you’ll also find fresh local fruits and vegetables for sale at the nearby central market, making it a great stop for food lovers and casual wanderers alike.

Great castle experience! The funicular ride up is convenient and fun. Lots to explore once you’re there, with something for everyone. The puppet museum was a fantastic surprise - definitely don’t miss it. Highly recommended! The view from the clock tower is amazing.
I'm disappointed. It's not worth the 15 euros. The only thing you have to pay for is to climb the flag tower. All the exhibition halls contain mostly textual information that can be found on Wikipedia. So, essentially, you can come here for free, stroll around the castle square without a ticket, and enjoy the tour. The castle grounds are also beautiful. I recommend walking up the hill instead of taking the funicular. It's a good workout! And be prepared to pay for the restrooms, even if you have a ticket. Overall, it's worth a visit, but without buying a ticket.
The history of a fortess on this site go back to the 11th century but the castle that stands here today was built under Frederick III of Habsburg as a stronghold against the Ottoman Empire. The beautiful decorated St George's Chapel dates from this time. It was extensively renovated over decades using lots of concrete as you can see all around. There is not much to be seen of the old csstle. Left and right were some interesting details like the old prison and the small armoury. When you climb the tower via the double red winding stairs you get a nice view over the city. Entry to the castle is easiest with the funicular which is included in the ticket price.
A historic castle overseeing the City of Ljubljana. The view is absolutely splendid and one can have a 360 view of the whole City from the viewpoints at the castle walls. It's well maintained with little museums located within the castle. There's also a wine bar and a lovely restaurant. One can choose to walk up to the place or simply take a funicular ride to the top. There's also a small parking lot right in front of the entry door to the castle.
Easy to get to ...funicular is a 1 minute ride. Castle is now theater. galleries, museum, restaurant plus the castle itself with nice viewing tower. Area of improvement is the signage. As the signs were not clear I just couldn't find the puppet museum which was the main reason of my visit.
Great views and atmosphere - but pricey if you’re going inside! Ljubljana Castle is definitely worth walking up to, even if you don’t buy the ticket. I didn’t go inside, but the views from the outside areas, the courtyard, and the paths around the hill are fantastic for photos, especially near sunset. The castle itself looks beautiful and well-preserved, and the walk up is quick and enjoyable. The only downside is the €15 ticket price (as of Nov 2025), which feels a bit high compared to similar castles. I’m guessing it’s partly because it includes the funicular and helps support ongoing renovations and events - but still, it’s a lot if you just want a short visit. Overall, a must-see spot for views and atmosphere, even without paying to enter.
Beautifully preserved castle with stunning panoramic views over Ljubljana. The mix of history, architecture, and modern exhibitions makes it a must-see. The walk up is lovely, and the tower viewpoint is absolutely worth it. A perfect blend of culture, scenery, and atmosphere.
The city's most important attraction. It's impressive. From the top of the castle tower, we can admire the city panorama. The ticket price includes entry to the tower and exhibition hall, as well as a ride down the funicular. I highly recommend it.

Large green space in the center of Ljubljana, filled with beautiful trees and a small amount of plantings. Glass house is available to wonder near with a lake close by. Swans with Cygnets and ducks with babies swim around the lake offering a place to rest and enjoy the views. Highly recommend.
Loved it - what a beautiful green naturally forested spaces in between- natural materials of wood and tires used in the playground for kids… loved our morning here…. 🌴🪾🌳🌲
A lovely park, a bit too few shadowy spots available and there could have been more maps around. Otherwise I recommend going there to see swans and walk between huge trees and vast grass areas.
A must visit. Very beautiful, large, well maintained, with lots of pedestrian and cycling paths. Good washroom and beautiful art in the cafe. A highlight of Ljubljana and easy to get to.
A beautiful, peaceful, and very well-maintained park right in the heart of Ljubljana. You can immediately feel the calm atmosphere — everything is clean, the paths are tidy, and the green areas are well cared for. It’s perfect for a relaxing walk, a bike ride, or just sitting on a bench and enjoying nature. The park is huge and offers something for everyone: open meadows, shaded tree-lined paths, playgrounds for kids, ponds with ducks, and even small art exhibitions along the walkways. There’s also a cozy café where you can grab a coffee or ice cream and simply unwind. What’s great is that despite being so big, it’s right in the city center — yet it feels peaceful and far away from the urban noise. Everything feels safe, clean, and family-friendly. One of the most beautiful places in Ljubljana to relax, recharge, and enjoy nature. Highly recommended, whether you’re alone, with friends, or with your family.
Really beatiful park, basiclly in city centre, suitable for kids, but also for walking, running, cycling etc. Super clean!
Tivoli Park & Rožnik Hill – A Breath of Fresh Air in the Heart of Ljubljana Tivoli Park and Rožnik Hill are true gems nestled right in the center of Ljubljana – a perfect escape from the city buzz without ever really leaving it. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this green oasis offers everything you could want from an urban park and forest: beautiful walking paths, cycling trails, shaded spots for a picnic, and scenic routes for jogging or hiking. It’s the lungs of the city, and you feel it the moment you step under the trees – cleaner air, cooler temperatures, and the calming sound of birds instead of traffic. One of the best things about Rožnik is its accessibility. Within minutes, you can go from the city center to feeling like you’re in the middle of the countryside. It’s a favorite spot for weekend walks, morning runs, or simply clearing your head. At the top of Rožnik Hill, the local inn (Gostilna Rožnik) has been making a comeback. While it had seen better days, it’s slowly improving, both in terms of its menu and service. You’ll find a more curated selection of Slovenian dishes, better coffee, and a generally more inviting atmosphere than in years past. It’s a welcome place to sit down and recharge after the climb, especially on a sunny day. All in all, Tivoli and Rožnik are must-visits if you want to see where Ljubljana truly breathes – not just nature-wise, but culturally too. It’s where locals go to stay grounded, active, and connected to the city’s green soul.
Tivoli Park – Ljubljana’s green lung and instant happiness (May 2025) On a perfect spring morning we walked from the city centre and within 10 minutes we were in this huge, peaceful oasis. Perfectly manicured paths, giant old trees, little ponds with ducks, blooming chestnut avenues, playful squirrels everywhere, and the Jakopič Promenade that feels made for photos. We loved the mix: families picnicking, joggers, old couples on benches, kids chasing bubbles – pure everyday Ljubljana life. The park is so big you can find both lively spots and completely quiet corners to read or just breathe. Clean, safe, free, and honestly one of the most beautiful city parks we’ve ever seen in Europe. If you only have a couple of hours in Ljubljana, spend at least one here – you’ll leave smiling.

Pulsing river of Ljubljana city. There are dozens of bridges and some of them are really interesting from architectonic point of view. This river also offers possibility for a boat trip. We haven't tried it but maybe next time. The river is crossed so many times...
Lovely river crosses Ljubljana!
In autumn, the river is one of many in Europe. In summer, however, it stands out from the gray of mundaneity and becomes a very important tourist center in Ljubljana. I adore this river and its cruises.
Charming place with plenty of bars, cafés and small pretty places to explore. Highly recommended. Ljubljana is a wonderful City, with wonderful people and excellent gastronomic options.
25€ for half an our tour for three of us. Charming night tour.
There are a lot of beautiful buildings on the riverbank and many interesting bridges over this nice river
I simply love this place. The whole city is amazing as are the people! So beautiful and picturesque there is just something simple yet mysterious about this place If there is one pls d to add to your “must see before I die” list then this is it! We spent the day at Lake Bled coming off a cruise ship was its a side trip to this city and were blown away by what we saw Suggest taking a tour group to see the place for a greater appreciation of the historical significance of many landmark places here. Ours was amazing ! TRIVIA - And if you look through my photos you will find a face built into the door out of brass. It was traditional for the architect to build his own face into such structures back in the day!! Enjoy!

Lovely big cathedral in the heart of Ljubljana if you want to listen at mass you don’t have pay if not you must pay a small feee to enter. Highly advised to go to Sunday mass at 6pm is magical…. Photos are restricted
St. Nicholas’ Church in Ghent is really impressive! This old stone church stands tall in the city center, looking strong and beautiful. Inside, the high ceilings and big stained-glass windows are so pretty. The organ is huge and cool to see, even if it’s not playing. It’s free to enter, which is awesome, and it’s not too crowded. The history feels alive with all the old details around you. I loved the calm and peaceful vibe inside. It’s great for a quick visit to soak in some beauty and history. The location makes it easy to stop by while exploring Ghent. Definitely worth checking out!
Beautiful cathedral and beautiful pipe organ. My son got a one in a lifetime opportunity to Ply the 100 yr old organ because of the kindness of the church staff. Thank you.
Originally built as a Romanesque cathedral in the 13th century, St. Nicholas Cathedral was rebuilt after a major fire in its current Baroque style in the early 1700s.
This has to be one of the most beautiful cathedral in Slovenia? Beautiful paintings and the interior is superb! I was recommended by a stranger to visit and we did , entrance fee is €3 per person and definitely worth it
Unfortunately, we couldn't get ilas it was closed for tourists on that exact day, so I couldn't compare to other to other cathedrals. The outside architecture isn't that impressive (in my opinion), but there were some interesting ornaments and details.
Worth it for the 3 euros entry fee. Note that it is open during certain times of specific days. For Sunday's it's open from 10 to 1 and 4.45 to 8 (around that time)
What a magnificent cathedral with such rich history. The inside of the church was simply magnificent. The place also had a lot of peace, calm and serenity to offer to connect and say thank you with gratitude to whichever Gods or religion you pray to

Amazing graffiti space. If you want to see something really different from most sightseeing places, come here - surely during the day if you want to see the colourful graffiti all around the place. If you feel uncomfortable with the smell of weed and some strange stares at you, definitely don't come here in the evening :)
1 | A somewhat unusual spot that serves as a hub for alternative art. It’s free to visit, photogenic, and located just an 8-minute walk from Ljubljana’s main train station. 2 | On the flip side – the area is full of rather odd people, and some seemed like they might be under the influence of mysterious substances. A few of them stared at me in a strange way. Much of the “art” here consists of political slogans. 3 | I wouldn’t recommend visiting this squat after dark, especially for women or those less adventurous.
Very cute art on the buildings but during the day you don’t quite know what to do there. There are no food trucks, concept stores or stands. There’s a couple of bars with sketchy looking zonked people staring into space, didn’t really feel inviting to walk in and have a glass. I went there once at 3 pm and once at 7 pm, both gave me the same impression. A little dilapidated and not too intuitive for the newcomers.
Is a worth visiting place if you like an urban vibe with graffiti’s and art around. However , you MUST consider that the crowd around the place will make you feel extremely unsafe. I went during the day and stayed like five minutes as I had to almost run as a strange dude was following me for a long period of time.
Cool location with a lot of alternative art and music. A bit more...orderly? than some of the similar places in Europe. Not quite as good as NL or Denmark but close and has a similar rule about photos of people. Police are stationed nearby in a car and lots of smoke about.
It's further away from the city center, with many interesting installations and weird/quirky people. Impressive graffiti.
I'm not really sure what to make of this place. Yes, there is a lot of pretty cool graffiti and sculptures but it felt uncomfortable and odd walking around here. When we were here there were groups of people who were obviously under the influence of substances and drink. Not sure it's somewhere to visit at night. I know this place used to be barracks and now it's an alternative and subculture space but I need someone to explain this area to me as I don't quite understand it. Didn't spend all that long here as it just felt odd and uncomfortable.
Interesting place to visit. Remember not to take pictures with faces in them as they won't be happy about it.

I thought this would be a bit of a waste of money and a bit twee but it's actually really fun. Some of the illusions you'll have seen before but a lot you won't have and some are really funny/engaging. The upside down room photos are fun in particular The best thing is the staff who are really enthusiastic and without them this place wouldn't be nearly as good. Be aware it is quite small so you'll have to wait 1 in 1 out at busy times. The moving (not moving) walkway is quite nausea inducing so don't drink too much slush before going in it
We had a very fun time during our visit to the museum. The lady that works there was very polite, even took photos of us while also giving us ideas for a certain pose. Would recommend it to everyone who wants to spent some relaxing and fun time with friends or family.
A lovely family program for a rainy day in Ljubljana. The museum has a good collection of visual illusions, lots of interactive and funny activities. It is enjoyable both for children and adults. The athmosphere is friendly and creative (don't miss the disco in the toilet🤩). The staff is friendly, one really can sense that they love this place, happy yo provide experiences for the visitors, and implement new ideas. Thanks for the good memories (and also for the restaurant recommendations❤)
Highly entertaining and great fun. A must do when visiting Ljubljana.
Uau, what a great place to step back from busy world. It is great place not only for children but also adults can enjoy it! The staff is super friendly and they make the atmosphere even more relaxed. The illusions are funny and there are descriptions for each in different languages. I visited the place with my freshly 8year old and we enjoyed it both! I highly recommend the visit for all, big and small, to share an hour of fun and relaxation and to get the touch of the world of illusion. Five stars and we will definitely come back again.
This is a very nice experience, we had fun and the kids enjoyed the different attractions. Some of the attractions needs better maintenance but overall the place is very nice and provide a great 45-60 visit experience
Nice hostess! Cute little place with some fun illusions to view and interact with.

Originally designed in the 1930s by Jože Plečnik, the bridge remained unbuilt for decades and was eventually completed in 2010 in a modern style—not in Plečnik’s design, but as a realization of his unfulfilled vision in a contemporary form. The name comes from the former slaughterhouse and butcher shops that once stood nearby. Today, the bridge is best known as a romantic spot, where couples leave padlocks on the railings to symbolize their love.
All of the bridges in Central Ljubljana are different. This one has metal railings and lots of locks attached to it. It offers a nice view over the river and you can buy a ticket for the boat ride from the middle of the bridge
I feel the locks on bridges are so unoriginal, they’re in like every country now! How do people decide where they want to leave their love locks?! Haha The glass part of the bridge is really cool though
The Butcher's Bridge is Ljubljana's version of a love bridge, complete with countless padlocks and a slick glass walkway (watch your step when it rains!). But don’t expect Cupid statues—here you'll find provocative bronze sculptures, including a man casually holding his intestines. Well, it is the Butcher's Bridge, after all! Historically, this spot was part of the medieval meat market, and its slightly macabre flair is part of the charm. Great for photos, a quick stop, or just soaking in the city’s quirky vibe. :)
It’s nice to put on padlocks on the bridge, but I think the frogs should be spared from getting locked
Nice bridge with part glass floor and holds the tradition of people hanging locks all over it. Super view of the river and Ljubljana Old Town
1 | Mesarski Most (Butcher’s Bridge) is a pedestrian bridge completed in 2010 that spans the Ljubljanica River, linking Ljubljana’s Central Market to the Petkovškovo embankment. Its modern steel and glass design is complemented by dramatic bronze sculptures by Jakov Brdar. 2 | The bridge is known locally as Ljubljana’s "Love Bridge". Honestly, I’m not a big fan of the habit of damaging public spaces with padlocks. However, in this case, it’s fairly photogenic, and if the city is okay with it, I accept it. 3 | The bridge is pedestrian-only, and you’ll likely come across it while walking around Ljubljana.
Mesarski Most is one of those little gems in Ljubljana that might not get as much attention as some of the bigger landmarks, but it’s definitely worth a visit. It’s a small, charming bridge that crosses the Ljubljanica River, and what makes it special are the animal sculptures on the railings—there’s something quirky about them that gives the bridge a fun, unique character. We toured this bridge on our city tour, and it’s definitely less busy than some of the other bridges. Its uniqueness and charm also come from the hundreds to thousands of locks attached to the bridge by both tourists and locals, adding a personal touch to the structure.

It is a beautiful church, the color so vibrant, making a statement at the center on Ljubljana, any house of worship is always highly recommended!
The Franciscan Church of the Annunciation in Ljubljana is a stunning pink landmark in Prešeren Square. Its Baroque interior features beautiful frescoes, a grand altar, and a peaceful atmosphere. The church’s library, with rare books, is accessible after buying a ticket. It’s a quick visit, about 15-30 minutes, perfect for soaking in history and art.
One of the two most remarkable churces in the capital. The church is entered through the monastery to the left of it. You need to pay for a visit. Nice baroque interior with not so nice post baroque frescoes. You can buy the combined ticket also for a small museum which is a bit hard to find. You need to go through the courtyard, ring the bell and go to the first floor - not a good navigation! This museum is very small but you can see some remarkable paintings and renovated francsican library.
Beautiful and iconic church in the very heart of Ljubljana. The Franciscan Church of the Annunciation with its striking red façade is one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks. The interior is peaceful and elegant, with beautiful frescoes and a serene atmosphere. Located right on Prešeren Square, it’s easy to visit while exploring the old town. A must-see spot for anyone visiting Ljubljana — perfect for photos and a quiet moment of reflection.
The pink heart of Ljubljana – Franciscan Church of the Annunciation (May 2025) Impossible to miss and impossible to forget: this gentle salmon-pink Baroque beauty dominates Prešeren Square like a permanent sunset. Built by the Franciscans between 1646–1660, its warm facade has been the symbol of Ljubljana for centuries. Step inside and the calm hits you instantly – soft light through the rose windows, magnificent 19th-century frescoes, and one of the most beautiful high altars in Slovenia. We were there on a sunny May afternoon; the organ was playing, the square was alive with flowers and street musicians, and the Triple Bridge framed it perfectly. Whether you come for faith, architecture, or just the prettiest photo in town, this church is pure Ljubljana magic.
The beautiful, Baroque salmon-colored Church of the Annunciation is the Franciscan church in Ljubljana, built in 1646. Located on Central Prešeren Square, it is attached to a 13th century monastery.
Beautiful pink church which is an outcome of the fading of the originally red paint, interesting. There’s an entrance fee and the to enter you have to go to the left side of the main entrance, there’s a door.
I was here on Christmas Eve and it has a wonderful Nativity scene inside at the altar. It is so detailed and sophisticated, it has so many little figures! The scene even has a little fountain and a bonfire in it. I loved that the church was so welcoming, there were a lot of children around the scene with parents teaching them on the meaning of it. That's what the Christmas is all about! To compare: another church in the nearby - the Saint Nicholas church - at the same Christmas Eve was so unfriendly, there was a festive service with the organ but the church was empty because the doors were closed and they put a sign for tourists to stay away. This Franciscan church was not like that and I'm grateful for their warm hospitality!

Great place for cozy drinks with a view you won’t forget. From the terrace you can see the whole old city and the Ljubljana Castle right in front of you. Perfect spot to sip a drink during sunset or at night when the city lights up. The atmosphere is calm and elegant, and the staff are super friendly and welcoming. A must-visit when in Ljubljana.
Views upon sunset are worth it. Service is fast and amicable. The building has important history. BUT the 12th floor could be in much better condition. Glasses are stained, smell (inside) is disgusting and furniture could be better. Still, recommendable.
The building's entrance goes unnoticed. We found it with the help of a passerby. Only the rooftop bar, with its modernist inspiration characteristic of the early 20th century, is open to visitors. It's an exceptional spot for a coffee or a Spritz, with magnificent 360° views over Ljubljana, amidst tourists and locals alike.
Nice rooftop bar to watch the sunset, with great views of the city. Staff were nice and helpful. Service was a little slow when we visited, but this was most likely due to the time of day, as it was very busy. We were lucky to get a table, a party was departing as we arrived. My first choice of drink was unavailable as a key ingredient was missing, but there were plenty of other delicious drinks to choose from.😋 My only suggestion to the owners/staff would be to clean the glass/Perspex surrounding the perimeter walls of the roof terrace as they are dirty, and spoil photos if you are unable to rise/hold camera above it to take great photos. It's definitely worth a visit!
The view was good, if you want to visit the skyscraper and take pictures is ok if you order from the bar in the last floor from what we understand. The drink i ordered was nothing special but i recommend to go for the view 🏙
1 | Nebotičnik is a historic 70-metre-tall high-rise in the heart of Ljubljana, completed in 1933 and once one of the tallest buildings in Europe. Its top-floor café and viewing terrace offer panoramic views over the city, the rooftops, and the nearby hills, accessible via its original Art Deco elevator. 2 | I was surprised that the "skyscraper" wasn’t as tall as I expected. It’s actually pretty easy to miss from the street — for reference, it’s located right next to the Cyanometer attraction. 3 | On the rooftop, there’s a café with a stunning view of the entire area. The tables are set on an outdoor terrace that offers a full 360° panorama. You can visit without paying an entrance fee — you just need to order something at the café. 4 | Prices at the café were surprisingly reasonable (as of July 2025). An espresso costs 2.70 euros, a cappuccino is 3.10 euros, and a Union beer is 4.70 euros. They also serve toast and sandwiches. 5 | Card payment is accepted. What disappointed me was the very slow service — we were ignored for several minutes. 6 | The interior of the skyscraper reflects the era it was built in, with no major renovations. Worth noting are the vintage elevator and the spiral staircase located on the ground floor right next to it. 7 | I recommend visiting the rooftop café at sunset. It can get crowded, but the view is unforgettable. On a clear day, you can see the mountains beyond the city from Nebotičnik.
An ok location but with some problems: -Dirty windows blocking the view, sitting in this restaurant doesnt matter becouse you cant see the view anyway becouse of the dirtyness. -Prices are high. -Customer service just stands in a group and talks, doesnt really look like they wanna help you at all. -But the worst of all, our drink had alot of Ice, it was almost no drink at all. Will not return here...
Beautiful views of the entire city, wasn’t warm enough for us to sit outside but you still got a great view from the interior. We had some cocktails and a cake which were on the expensive side as to be expected but very nice and had a lovely time enjoying the view. Staff were friendly although they couldn’t seem to decide whether it was table service or not, telling me to stay at the table and then later telling me to come to the bar. Was beginning to get pretty busy just before dinner time so recommend going early to get a good seat!

We had the most incredible day at the zoo! ❤️ It was such a beautiful space, filled with shade, perfect for a warm day of adventure. With 6.5 km of stunning trails to explore, every step was a delight! To top it all off, we celebrated the elephant's 50th birthday! 🎉 Everyone was treated to free ice cream and delicious Indian desserts, which made the experience even sweeter. The zoo staff were super friendly, adding to the festive atmosphere. What an unforgettable day!
A lovely natural park type zoo, the perfect place to spend a few hours on a hot day as there is lots of shade. There's lots of free parking outside as well, which is great. The animals mostly seem well cared for and happy, with large natural enclosures. There are lots of playgrounds for children as well, the frog leap playground is especially cool. The ticket price is quite good, but inside the prices for food and drinks is crazy - €3.80 for a Pepsi!!
One of the best Zoo I've been! Very kids orientated place, even if you do not prefer Zoo's, it's great place to bring kids, walk through park, clean air, let kids play around with plenty of playgrounds. As for animals, this is more like nature park, it's very nice and a lot of space and nature habbit for animals
Beautiful zoo! We saw all the animals (even the tiger, who was napping in a shade) except for the capybaras, which were hiding from the sun. It really does feel more like a stroll through a forest than a zoo visit, which just makes it even better. We spent close to 4 hours there. Some of the enclosures seemed a bit small, for example the seals, some of the bird cages and the elephant who seemed a bit lonely and bored. On the other hand, other animals' enclosures were huge and going through them felt more like walking through a reservation.
A great place to relax! The zoo isn’t big, but it’s very cozy and easy to walk through. The animal exhibits are interesting. Our kid liked it here.
A really nice experience at Ljubljana Zoo. It’s easy to get there via a single bus trip from the city center. The animals are generally well located and preserved. There is a small hill in the zoo, which creates a natural habitat for wild animals such as wild cats and birds. The elephant place is not big enough and it can be better if more space is available.
The Ljubljana Zoo is a great place to visit, especially for kids. They have a variety of animals, including an elephant and a giraffe, among others. More and more, people are questioning the ethics of zoos because animals are often kept in limited enclosures. However, it's also true that many species have been saved from extinction thanks to the conservation efforts of zoos.
We were wandering through the park with no real plans and ended up here at the zoo and were so pleasantly surprised! This zoo is incredible. It's so large and has everything you could think of. Most recent f the enclosures were large and had great space. We thought the ticket and food prices were very reasonable. Highly recommend

Beautiful historic building in the heart of Ljubljana’s old town. Lovely architecture, a calm courtyard, and great for quick photos while exploring the city. Worth a short stop!
The Rathaus (Town Hall) in Ljubljana is a stunning building, and we had the chance to visit it during our city tour. Our guide gave us a fascinating rundown of its history, which made the experience much more meaningful. Located in the Old Town, the Renaissance-style facade with touches of Gothic and Baroque design really stands out. The surrounding town square adds to the charm, making it a perfect spot to take in the local atmosphere. Inside, there are some exhibits that offer a glimpse into the city's past, though the real highlight was learning about the history from our guide. The building itself is beautiful and rich in stories, making it a great stop to really connect with Ljubljana’s heritage.
An ancient governmental building with the ground floor open to the public revieling many historical moments. There are also 3 exhibitions spaces that are always occupied by various artists and projects. And at the entrance to the right you can see all the prizes Ljubljana received for various achievements
Originally built in the 15th century, the building was later remodeled in the 18th century in a Baroque-Renaissance style. It still serves as the seat of the Mayor of Ljubljana and houses the city's administrative offices. Inside, you'll also find a small exhibition gallery and a wedding hall open to the public.
Ljubljana Town Hall – a Baroque jewel that glows at night (30 April 2025) Standing on Mestni trg at 9 pm, we looked up and simply gasped: the 300-year-old Town Hall bathed in soft rainbow light, its elegant arches and columns looking like something out of a fairy tale. The Slovenian and EU flags fluttered gently above the balcony, families strolled past, and the whole square felt alive yet peaceful. Inside you can visit the stunning courtyard with its Narcis fountain (free entry), but honestly the exterior at night is the real show-stopper. Ljubljana’s city hall is proof that even municipal buildings can be works of art. If you’re anywhere near the Old Town after sunset, come here – the light show on this façade is pure magic.
The town hall is a beautiful building you'll access by taking the pedestrian street right after the triple bridge coming from Preseren Square. When you'll get inside you'll se this beautiful indoor court. There was also an exhibition when we were there.
Its main government building of the city. Beautiful walking around to see the heart of the old town.
1 | Mestna hiša (Ljubljana Town Hall) was originally built in the late 15th century and received its Baroque makeover between 1717–1719 under the direction of Gregor Maček Sr. based on designs by the Italian architect Carlo Martinuzzi. 2 | The building houses municipal offices and several spaces dedicated to art exhibitions. The exhibits change regularly. During our visit in July 2025, there was an exhibition focused on summer vacations, visually styled to resemble Instagram. 3 | The building is also architecturally interesting, with Robba’s Narcissus fountain located in its courtyard, surrounded by arcaded walkways.
