The 50 best bars and drinks in Ljubljana

We came here with high expectations after having had some great experiences at two other local Irish pubs. Sadly, the music system was faulty and was playing two different songs at the same time. For example, we had Africa by Toto competing with Ava Max (Whatever) by Donatella. The barman was aware of the problem but was unable to fix it, or turn it down. Purely because of this, for our sanity, we only stayed for just the one drink before making a hasty exit!

My new favorite pub in Slovenia. Largest in the country with over 1000 drinks! My host, Marco Cesar (a 19 year veteran of the establishment), provided outstanding, friendly hospitality during a recent midday visit. The Hop Brew selections are worth a try for those who like craft beers.

We visited the pub couple of weeks ago with a group of friends. The drinks were okay and the vibe was fun but our waiter was very rude! At some point, he got angry with us and started shouting not even explaining what was his problem with us. We tried to talk to him in a more calmer way but he kept calling one of our friends "stupid", repeating it over and over again while being frustrated. I believe this kind of service is unacceptable. I'm sure we could have solved the situation if he would have just told us clearly what was the problem. But instead he just ruined our night and fun.

This place is located off the main streets. It looks very ice inside and the Cutty Sark sailboat theme decorated. They have a large drinks selection. Stuff is helpful. On the food manu they have only pizza and some bar cnacks. I would recommend that you find time to enjoy this pub.

During a short break to Ljubljana, we visited the Cutty Sark bar on two occasions. The first was a very busy and lively Saturday night, the second was a much quieter midweek visit. On both visits the staff were great, serving us very quickly and politely. Everyone in the bar was very friendly and spoke to us if we started speaking to them. Prices reasonable and would return if I visited Ljubljana again.

Off the main streets, through a large doorway, is this pub with a lot of atmosphere ( British / Irish decor) and the Cutty Sark sailboat theme. An impressive drinks list several beers on tap and 73 bottled beers on the menu ( unsure if all available...?) Happy Hour daily from 4-6pm. Food menu looks good but limited to pizza, a soup and bar snacks. Good music.

The 2 for 1 offer is great, drinks are 10% cheaper before 10pm and it was super packed with good music from the 2000s. Nice pub to enjoy the vibe! Didn't eat anything there.

got two cocktails for 12€. we ordered strawberry one and it was one of the best ones we ever tried. there was so many on the menu, took us a while to choose. there is a jukebox and you can put songs on the playlist unless they're balkan songs (I approve). 10/10, recommended!

Found this brilliant quirky theme bar on our last day in Ljubljana which was a good job because if we had found it earlier probably would of seen the rest the City because the 2 for 1 cocktails were that good. The lady who served us was lovely, we asked her recommendations which cocktails to have and the ones she made for us were amazing. Give the place a visit if your in Ljubljana and like cocktails.

Cheap and nice cocktails. Nice to see a novelty bar. Don't really get why you've got Charles Darwin next to Jack Sparrow but w/e. Toilets smelled like Satan's small intestine. Couldn't figure how to flush them for the life of us though. Overall recommend.

Very nice old school mainstream music from the 2000s-2010s. Great cocktails with various flavours. If you want a strong drink then maybe this is not your place. There is an offer where you get two cocktails for the price of one so this makes it worth it if you consider the price.

On a Tuesday night, we wanted to visit a bar. Unfortunately, the people visiting the bar were quite weird. It felt like there were 6 different vibes present in the bar. Some creepy old guys wearing traksuits, some weord germans, very drunk people an other weird white shirt guys. No real vibes, just weird people in a bar. Would not reccomend. Cheap drinks tough.

Cozy experience, good music, very nice atmosphere overall. Cocktails are great, maybe a tad pricey, even with all the 1+1 or 2+1 deals. Definitely worth the visit.

Honestly, I’m surprised by how many positive reviews this place has and how high its overall rating is. My friends and I had a rather disappointing experience. On Friday evening, we were seated at probably the worst table – right by the entrance inside, with a cabinet full of cables behind us that staff had to access three times during our visit. On the other side, there was a DJ standing right behind my friend the whole time, which made her really uncomfortable. The interior of the restaurant is nice, and the waiter who served us was friendly. The burger was okay in terms of taste, but it was missing both sauce and salt – the flavor was quite bland. By the time the waiter came back, I didn’t even feel like having the sauce anymore. I had finished my Aperol about 20 minutes before anyone came to ask if I wanted another drink. The food was served very unevenly – the pasta and burger came fairly quickly, but the pizzas for the rest of our group arrived about 20 minutes later, so we couldn’t eat together. The edges of the pizzas were so hard they were almost inedible. For that price, I would expect a much better experience. The place tries to present itself as a “fancy” spot, but in my opinion, it’s just superficial appeal. The service level and overall experience were disappointing.

Very unique cozy atmosphere. The place has a very relaxed vibe. The food was absolutely delicious. You can feel that it was cooked with love. The Tiramisu is the best we ever had, can absolutely recommend. The whole staff was very helpful and friendly. Will definitely visit again!

Really great place for a meal. The pizza was absolutely yummy, thin crust and crispy. The venue is so well decorated too. What a surprisingly lovely find this place was.

Lovely spot. Nice decor and outdoor area. Food was great. We also attended after the Ljubljana marathon when it was very busy and staff still extremely friendly and helpful!

We are here 2 out of the 3 nights we were in Ljubljana. Not only do they have vegetarian and gluten free options (i.e., gluten free pasta) - the food is delicious and the atmosphere is top notch. The greek salad is 10/10. While we didn't enjoy the fried zucchini on the appetizers we did not hesitate to come back.

Their food was incredibly good. We loved pizzas and steaks. Their cheeseburger should be the best in all Slovenia. But the waiter brought coke in a cracked glass that is not acceptable for such a highly rated restaurant.

The food was incredible. We had the truffle and mushroom pizza. It was about €20 which is a bit more than I’d usually spend however it was definitely worth it! The flavour was phenomenal. With the right amount of truffle and pizza crust ratio. We also had the fried zucchini flowers. They had been fried in batter and were absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend getting these as they had the perfect amount of batter and ricotta ratio. The service was good, it was a busy night as it was so hot. Sadly we couldn’t sit outside but the inside was air conditioned well.

Very LGBT friendly place. Went here because I saw the flag and wanted to support them. Had the raspberry-kiwi lemonade and the sundried tomato flatbread. The drink was delightfully sour and not too sweet. And the flatbread was nice and crispy. Would gladly come here again.

Visited twice and had some pizzas once and some wines another time just a whisky sour and wine. Was not the biggest fan of the whisky sour, but the wine was not bad, and the pizzas were great. Everything was priced generously and the environment was lively and fun. The server was also nice and friendly.

I recommend this bar to all my friends visiting Ljubljana! I have been a regular here for a decade, and never had a negative experience. They frequently update the drinks menu to suit all tastes. And the small pizzas the bake really hit the spot! No complaints about the coffee either. Plus they play contemporary electronic music which is really refreshing after walking past all the salsa pop covers playing elsewhere.

Would recommend for non-formal gatherings between business meetings. Our local and international partners were extremely happy with fresh and tasty food and drinks in the mornings, evenings and during breaks. They loved the pleasant atmosphere to connect and spend friendly time with colleagues. Service is friendly and fast.

Review of Pritličje – Restaurant/Bar I rarely write negative reviews, but my recent experience at Pritličje was so disappointing that I feel obliged to share it. Unfortunately, this establishment fails on almost every basic level – cleanliness, service, and food quality. I was sitting outside on the terrace, which should normally be the more pleasant option. However, even there the ambience felt unhygienic. The tables were dirty and sticky, the chairs clearly hadn’t been cleaned for a long time, and the entire outdoor area looked neglected. For a popular central spot, this was both surprising and unacceptable. The service was a complete disaster. I ordered a bottle of wine, only to be served an already opened one, without any explanation. When I pointed this out, the server simply brushed it off and acted as if nothing was wrong. Even worse, at one point they started shouting at a French guest on the terrace in a very disrespectful way. Instead of apologizing or trying to improve the situation, they simply ignored me and carried on. This level of unprofessionalism is simply shocking. As for the food, the pizzette were absolutely terrible – tasteless, artificial, and lacking any freshness. They felt like something straight from a freezer, reheated and thrown on a plate without any care. Considering the price, I expected at least something decent, but what I got was a soulless and flavorless product. In short, I cannot recommend Pritličje to anyone. The terrace is dirty, the staff is rude and careless, and the food is one of the worst I’ve had in the city. There are plenty of other places nearby that actually respect their customers – this is definitely not one of them.

A very disappointing experience. The music was extremely loud — it was impossible to have a normal conversation, even when sitting close together. The walls were covered with irrelevant political signs, creating a tense and awkward atmosphere in a place that’s supposed to be relaxed and enjoyable. Worst of all — smoking was everywhere,. Absolutely unbearable. I definitely do not recommend this place — there are far better, healthier, and more pleasant places to go out in Slovenia.

1 | A somewhat unusual spot that serves as a hub for alternative art. It’s free to visit, photogenic, and located just an 8-minute walk from Ljubljana’s main train station. 2 | On the flip side – the area is full of rather odd people, and some seemed like they might be under the influence of mysterious substances. A few of them stared at me in a strange way. Much of the “art” here consists of political slogans. 3 | I wouldn’t recommend visiting this squat after dark, especially for women or those less adventurous.

Very cute art on the buildings but during the day you don’t quite know what to do there. There are no food trucks, concept stores or stands. There’s a couple of bars with sketchy looking zonked people staring into space, didn’t really feel inviting to walk in and have a glass. I went there once at 3 pm and once at 7 pm, both gave me the same impression. A little dilapidated and not too intuitive for the newcomers.

Is a worth visiting place if you like an urban vibe with graffiti’s and art around. However , you MUST consider that the crowd around the place will make you feel extremely unsafe. I went during the day and stayed like five minutes as I had to almost run as a strange dude was following me for a long period of time.

Cool location with a lot of alternative art and music. A bit more...orderly? than some of the similar places in Europe. Not quite as good as NL or Denmark but close and has a similar rule about photos of people. Police are stationed nearby in a car and lots of smoke about.

It's further away from the city center, with many interesting installations and weird/quirky people. Impressive graffiti.

I'm not really sure what to make of this place. Yes, there is a lot of pretty cool graffiti and sculptures but it felt uncomfortable and odd walking around here. When we were here there were groups of people who were obviously under the influence of substances and drink. Not sure it's somewhere to visit at night. I know this place used to be barracks and now it's an alternative and subculture space but I need someone to explain this area to me as I don't quite understand it. Didn't spend all that long here as it just felt odd and uncomfortable.

Interesting place to visit. Remember not to take pictures with faces in them as they won't be happy about it.

Lovely wine bar which seems very popular- it even has seating with cute little tables on the nearby steps. Our server was amazing and recommended wines for us to try with very few specifications from us. Would recommend.

Sara was super friendly and knowledgeable, and recommended some amazing wines. The food was delicious, with really good portion sizes. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Ljubljana.

Don’t take this wrong. Dvorni has a great wine selection and location. I loved the helpful staff and the atmosphere. But i didn’t really find the food-pairing well, but it could also be for Dvornis long list of tapas-offerings, and that I choose the wrong ones. Also, we never got offered to try the wine before specifically asking for it, which is strange for a wine bar - with so much good from Slovenia.

I have been to this place for several years. Hands down the best wine and tapas bar in Ljubljana. They have a good selection that makes sense, staff is informed and know their wine. So, you can always try interesting wine even without knowing a lot. (Wine tasting with Boris can help :) with that) I feel always welcome and special here. Zoja and Veronika were very kind, friendly and competent. I will continue to come and bring people here. 10/10

Reviews indicated this wine/tapas bar had an excellent selection of wines by the glass. They were spot on and the waiter recommended a couple of dry, bold reds from Slovenia. One was a cab/merlot blend the other a cab. Both were excellent though I chose to have an additional glass of the cab. I had the local specialty Kranjska sausage with mustard and horseradish. It was not so impressive as our guide said it was. This is no fault of the restaurant, I just think I would select a different dish next time. They have a varied and lengthy menu. I have been impressed with the Croatian and Slovenian red wines on this trip. Outdoor seating on this lovely day was a plus.

Loved this bar. Really friendly staff with loads of nostalgic music. We sat indoors to benefit from the aircon, but there's lots of outdoor seating too. We were blown away by how inexpensive the drinks were!

A very pleasant place with a wide selection of beers. Service was excellent and staff were friendly, helpful and fluent in English. On street seating was comfortable affording an opportunity to enjoy a drink and watch the world go by.

The place is full of younger people and the mood was very good. The Drinks are tasty and very cheap. Its a pub but it becomes more of a club at night. The music wasnt to my taste but still good. You have alot of drinks to choose from which is almost overwhelming but if you know what you want they surely have it and xou dont have to wait for too long on xour drinks. All in all a very enjoyabke night out.

15/08/2025 at 04:37 PM - I was there with 3 more friends and we had a bad experience with the waitress, she was totally unpolite, angry and we just gave up to order anything else than a simple coffee.

I was forcefully made to wear my jacket to cover croatian simbols in the club, to not risk being kicked out. Seems like you can't proudly ware other countries insignias to represent them in this place. I was twice warned by a local guard, risking being kicked out by a third warning. Service and everything was great, but guard crushed the local experience.

If you’re in the mood for a piña colada that tastes like disappointment and poor choices, this is the place for you! We stopped by hoping for a refreshing cocktail, but ended up with the worst piña colada we’ve ever had — and we’ve tried quite a few. It was insanely sweet — like syrupy-sweet — and so strong that any actual flavor got completely lost. No creamy coconut, no fresh pineapple, just a boozy sugar bomb that made us question our life decisions. Honestly, if we’d wanted something that tasted like cheap liquor mixed with melted candy, we could’ve made it ourselves at home. We didn’t even bother mentioning it to the staff — it just didn’t seem worth it. Maybe we were unlucky that day, but after this experience, we’re definitely not risking anything else from their cocktail menu. Would we come back? Only if they start offering refunds for betrayed taste buds.

Full of university students during the day, it has a good loud vibe from coffee, cigarettes and beer. As older tourists we had a draft beer, felt the energy of the young adults and moved on to our next stop. Beer was cheap and tasty.

Tried to enter on 2 different nights with some friends from the Caribbean but was always given an excuse for denial. If your skin colour is too dark, don't expect to be blanked by the security guys. Not tourist oriented.

If you're in Ljubljana this should be one of your places to go: it's a beautifully decorated bar with a gorgeous decoration and a great selection of beers and other drinks. The atmosphere is nice and welcoming, you'll feel like at home!

Cozy bar with wallpapered walls and sofas - real living room vibe. They have open mike evenings and live music sometimes. Always packed in the evenings, so finding a table can prove a challenge. Located centrally at the entrance to the cable car to the Castle and next to marionette theatre it makes it nice to sit outside as well.

A lovely little quirky bar, between the market area and the bottom of the furnicular that goes up to Ljubljana castle. Staff very friendly and will return to this bar when in Ljubljana again!

Great spot to discover Slovenian wines because not only do they offer flights but also have many options by the glass. The staff is very knowledgeable and we could tell they enjoyed showing off their country’s wines! Good people watching as well since their patio is by the path that follows the river.

Couldn’t recommend this place more! The staff was so warm and knowledgeable and made it a true experience. The wine selections were excellent, the food (tartare especially) was great, and we’ll absolutely be back next time we’re in Slovenia.

If you like food, wine, and a perfect spot on a beautiful European city river, (and you should if you don’t,) then you need to go to this place. The food and wine are excellent. The service is impeccable. The atmosphere is great. And the prices are reasonable by any standard. Try the radicchio with pumpkin and prawns. You won’t regret it. We will be back. Maybe tomorrow.

Wonderful local wine selections as well as some international offerings. My son had the ice tea and it was a lovely surprise. We very much enjoyed our experience.

A busy wine bar that overlooks the river - it is worth reserving a table. We did this via Instagram. We went there for the Slovenian wine flight tasting. It was definitely worth the price. The server was very knowledgeable in regards to the wine and the service was good. We also ordered the charcuterie board. Although nice we feel that it wasn’t good value for money - sorry! Other than that, would recommend!

We had a wonderful time here. They offered us a fantastic selection of Slovenian wines, and the staff was highly knowledgeable, recommending some truly exceptional options. It's the perfect place to visit if you're looking to explore Slovenian wines!

Great bar with an awesome beer selection on tap! We had lunch here twice (fish and chips pictured) because it was close to our apartment, very nice both times at a decent price. Friendly staff and a laid-back vibe away from the busy main streets of the city, definitely recommend going here for a beer (or a few) and a meal/some snacks!

Food was delicious and 14th beers on the tap is like a dream :) Beer's we enjoyed a lot and nr.1 and nr 2 beers ( from Warsawa) are TOP . Really good and politely waitresses and perfect atmosphere. I can recommend 👌

Spent a very wet rainy afternoon here today. Great selection of beer , board games and great music . Lovely outdoor area too ( when dry ! ).

Came across this gem while wandering around Ljubjlana in September. Excellent food, friendly service, 80's vibe with a playlist I'd have comfortably spent all afternoon listening to and gone back for agian the next day. Fabulous beer flights too. Great find - highly recommended.

The open-air sitting are in front of the bar itself is nice and wide, can host many people which contributes to the nice atmosphere. This however does not compensate for surprisingly high prices of beer. Definitely not a place for the locals to hang, but rather for the tourists from the North who probably do not mind paying 8e for a pint of beer (!?)

Very nice bar! We happened to hit happy hour. However, no problem getting a table outside in the beautiful weather! The service is exceptionally good! Ordering is fast, and also delivery to the table! Recommended!

A very nice place. Peaceful and scenic at the same time! Nice service and the latte was to die for. We sat outside even on a rainy day and it was a very nice experience. If you are in Ljubljana it is worth it to have a coffee or a beer there!

Best service in the centrum soo far. The waitresses are lovely and soo nice. The beer and cocktails are soo cheap especially on happy hour some spritzes are 4€ very worth it. The beer on happy hour is fresh and cold, even on a busy evening/night brought on time.

A nice pub with a good atmosphere and quick service. Inside is well decorated and if you're sitting outside you have a view on the river. It's not even too highly priced considering it's location so I would deffinitely recommend.

Lovely place to have a beer, but unfortunately there is no good food to eat with it. Ordered the fried chicken sandwich which was literally just a frozen crumbed chicken with a bit of cheese on bread. It was inedible. We asked them to take it away and they did, but still expected us to pay and were very combative and unsympathetic. We would have had no issues if they hadn't try to make us pay for something we couldn't even eat. Don't order food here, just drinks.

The waitress (dirty blond and blue eyes) was very rude towards my friend after he asked for a water saying '' Are you kidding me why couldn't you say that before you are just making me walk all over again'' then she proceeded to bring us 1 water with no ice not what we asked for and continued being rude to us the entire night, the drinks were fine.

Orto Bar is a small and cosy venue with a great atmosphere. They host amazing concerts with both local and international artists. The vibe is relaxed, the staff is friendly, and the music is always top-notch.

This place is a joke. They bring in an ABBA Tribute band, and have you wait for almost an hour before the concert starts, instead of at the announced time. Then, the band shows up and two women start singing and their microphones don’t work. So, no vocals for an ABBA concert, except for the audience singing. You go to the back and tell a guy the mics are off. He just looks at you, and replies he’s in charge of the lights. Of course, the sound guy is nowhere in sight. Never coming back, that’s for sure.

Advertised as open, tried to visit twice and closed then closed early the next time. Seemed cool, ah well.

Competent staff, reasonably stocked but pricey bar, horrible acoustics. Good for a night out, but not recommended for concerts. Edit to respond to the owners question: The Deathstars concert recently was quite probably the worst sound experience I had in my life. To put that in perspective: I'm 46. I do understand that the long and narrow space is hard to manage acoustically, so I could forgive the incredibly harsh sound at the stage in the beginning, which was corrected after I notified the mixing table; they probably could not hear it. But there was also the matter of microphone feedback: it took almost half the show for the lead singer to finally be heard on his mike and the back vocalist was pretty much cut off throughout the concert. The frustration of the band was palpable. I'm no expert on what needs to be done, but this is a problem and it needs to be solved.

Views upon sunset are worth it. Service is fast and amicable. The building has important history. BUT the 12th floor could be in much better condition. Glasses are stained, smell (inside) is disgusting and furniture could be better. Still, recommendable.

The building's entrance goes unnoticed. We found it with the help of a passerby. Only the rooftop bar, with its modernist inspiration characteristic of the early 20th century, is open to visitors. It's an exceptional spot for a coffee or a Spritz, with magnificent 360° views over Ljubljana, amidst tourists and locals alike.

Nice rooftop bar to watch the sunset, with great views of the city. Staff were nice and helpful. Service was a little slow when we visited, but this was most likely due to the time of day, as it was very busy. We were lucky to get a table, a party was departing as we arrived. My first choice of drink was unavailable as a key ingredient was missing, but there were plenty of other delicious drinks to choose from.😋 My only suggestion to the owners/staff would be to clean the glass/Perspex surrounding the perimeter walls of the roof terrace as they are dirty, and spoil photos if you are unable to rise/hold camera above it to take great photos. It's definitely worth a visit!

From the outside the building is just a square block. But the spiral staircase inside is very interesting. You can only walk up to the 10th floor. To go to restaurant and terrace on 10, 11, 12th floor, can only take the elevator. View from the terrace certainly is gorgeous.

The view was good, if you want to visit the skyscraper and take pictures is ok if you order from the bar in the last floor from what we understand. The drink i ordered was nothing special but i recommend to go for the view 🏙

1 | Nebotičnik is a historic 70-metre-tall high-rise in the heart of Ljubljana, completed in 1933 and once one of the tallest buildings in Europe. Its top-floor café and viewing terrace offer panoramic views over the city, the rooftops, and the nearby hills, accessible via its original Art Deco elevator. 2 | I was surprised that the "skyscraper" wasn’t as tall as I expected. It’s actually pretty easy to miss from the street — for reference, it’s located right next to the Cyanometer attraction. 3 | On the rooftop, there’s a café with a stunning view of the entire area. The tables are set on an outdoor terrace that offers a full 360° panorama. You can visit without paying an entrance fee — you just need to order something at the café. 4 | Prices at the café were surprisingly reasonable (as of July 2025). An espresso costs 2.70 euros, a cappuccino is 3.10 euros, and a Union beer is 4.70 euros. They also serve toast and sandwiches. 5 | Card payment is accepted. What disappointed me was the very slow service — we were ignored for several minutes. 6 | The interior of the skyscraper reflects the era it was built in, with no major renovations. Worth noting are the vintage elevator and the spiral staircase located on the ground floor right next to it. 7 | I recommend visiting the rooftop café at sunset. It can get crowded, but the view is unforgettable. On a clear day, you can see the mountains beyond the city from Nebotičnik.

An ok location but with some problems: -Dirty windows blocking the view, sitting in this restaurant doesnt matter becouse you cant see the view anyway becouse of the dirtyness. -Prices are high. -Customer service just stands in a group and talks, doesnt really look like they wanna help you at all. -But the worst of all, our drink had alot of Ice, it was almost no drink at all. Will not return here...

It is a shared dormitory. It was very clean. The bathrooms are also very clean. There is a box to keep your things, but you must buy a lock before you come. There is also a small bar under the residence and adjacent rooms that stay open .until midnight. Loud noises

Great hostel, with either amazing staff or horrible staff. About half of the staff are so friendly and helpful, while the other half seem like they dont want to be there. The rooms are nice and nothing really to put a finger on, other than the staff. You could argue that it is a bit pricey, but nothing egregious.

This review is for the bar alone as we did not stay in the hostel. We were here a couple of times during our stay in Ljubljana and had an AWESOME time. The staff was always welcoming and friendly, the music was great, and the atmosphere was super chill. We had the pleasure of running into the manager, Marjan, and he was such a great guy. He and his team definitely work hard to maintain a quality property and he truly cares about what he does. We would definitely be back here if we found ourselves in the area again. Hvala to the entire staff for helping us to have a great time!

This bar is great - went in the summer, has nice beers, nice live music program on some evenings (blues / rock / jazz), big terrace outside and a bit further away from the tourist crowd. Staff is very kind. 100% recommended!

Would rather camp next time. One bed likely had bedbugs as we left in the morning pock marked and bitten all over. Air conditioning made stuff damp in the room. A noticeable percentage of the bar staff were rude. On one occasion a waiter shushed me when I asked to pay the bill and continued to clear tables and bring new drinks out for 10 minutes before I went in to ask to pay again. Another example was when I ordered a beer at the bar and the guy was explaining the types of beer like a condescending snob. They made us wait 30 mins when we were trying to check in because the bar was busy even though the check in process took 3-4 minutes at most. Not all the staff were rude eg one of the bar backs apologised for the wait. the lady behind the bar and the receptionist were generally pleasant too but the rest of them were contemptible Only benefit was that it was walking distance from the centre of town. Beer was on the expensive side too. Found it ironic that it’s called Sax Pub and we didn’t hear any saxophone or jazz music while there for 3 days

I spent 4 nights at the Sax Pub hostel. It wasn't particularly bad, but it wasn't good either. The hostel is clean, there is a basic kitchen, the location is perfect, but it's nothing more than just a few stuffy dorms with worn-out beds to sleep in. Music from the pub stays loud until about midnight, so if you're an early sleeper, this place is not for you. There are only 2 bathrooms (+3 toilets), so you have to wait a bit to get ready in the morning. There is no common room or a place to hangout, besides the pub, but if you sit there, you have to order something. There was not really somebody around to ask for inquiries; the people who run the pub looked too busy to ask. I left covered in what I assume are bedbug bites. If you're just looking for a place to crash for a night and get out again, it's okay, but if you prefer an hostel with more amenities, book something else.

Honestlly, the place is good and the staff are very friendly. I was not lucky with the group which played jazz that night. I love jazz but not that (techno jazz). For me, it was very strange, boring, annoying and weird. However, Prulcek is recommended.

Great fun night; the service was on point by the young gentleman who served us and took time to give us a quick overview of a drink we asked for. We spent around 10€ for 1 and 0,5 pint and also I have noticed there is a theatre next door for those who prefer but overall Very friendly staff, good atmosphere :). Highlight was that, we were lucky to book and enjoy a live music played by Guido Spannocchi Quartet with whom I had a great conversation. Also bought my first Vinyl album that I was LUCKY to get for £15 with his signature :) :) I would recommend anyone visiting the city to checkout what’s on in this Live Music Venue

Had a great time listening to a jazz performance here. Don’t expect them to start on time like advertised, probably 30 min - 1 hr late. Only drinks and no food. The outdoor seating is fantastic.

Dive bar with Live music and quite special place when compared with the rest bars in old Town. At the moment listening qeens of the stone age music style. The place has nice vibes and also is suitable for disabled people who use wheelchair with little assistance because of double door entrance. Next door is a contemporary dance theatre of Ljubljana. This place is on so called the friend Street meaning that in this place you will establish new friendships. Enjoy your stay here!

Great vibe, local feel, huge tree tops above. A place to grab a coffee or a couple of beers later in the evening.

If you just want a drink in cosy surroundings with great prices and friendly staff, this is the place for you. They also show Premier League football which is how I found it as from the outside it looks nothing special and would be easy to disregard. If you are staying in the City Hotel (which we were), it's perfectly positioned just across the road. We didn't eat here hence no stars.

Only place I've seen on Slovenia that serves hard dry cider - Weston's 7% at 5 euros a 50cl bottle. DJ mixing live and a guy cooking fresh burgers on Tuesday, good mix of locals and travellers. Staff were friendly and efficient. I had 3 pints and felt it later!

Brilliant all around!!! This restaurant is a must go if you’re either visiting or lived here for years and never been. The prices are very fair and the potions are pretty much perfect for how much you pay. The basque cheesecake is also a must. Our waiter was also amazing, definitely would come again and absolutely nothing negative to say.

Best burger I had since Chicago burger. Impressive natural ingredients including beef and grilled onion. Service was impeccable bringing extra mayos, ketchup, and hot sauce. Although it was not that cold, they had all outdoor heaters on. Along the river and next to street walking, the outdoor seating was perfect for a fall lunch burger with beer. My wife had a smash burger and love it also.

Loved this place! I tried the California Classic beef burger and it was amazing — super juicy patty, soft bun, and really tasty sauce. The fries with Parmesan and herbs were crispy and full of flavor. The location is perfect, right in the center of Ljubljana, and the outdoor seating has a great vibe. Staff were friendly and service was quick. Totally recommend this spot if you’re craving a good burger! 🍔🍟

Jack Ryan Burger is the best! And is known for the best burgers in the world (my opinion and some other friends of mine). Been here about 3x and loved it. Critique: -It does get busy so I understand when a waiter forgets an order for the customer but when I ask for the order again, it'd be nice not to forget it 2x or 3x and waiting for 15+ min. -Atmosphere could work a bit, I understand that the capital of Slovenia is packed in. I wish there was a possibility for inside seating, especially during the hottest times in summer and or other customers smoking around you and you cannot enjoy the food or the setting. Other than those I highly recommend every one to drive, fly, or walk to Pops because it is worth every penny!

Set alongside the Ljubljanica River, Pop’s Place offers outdoor tables and a welcoming casual vibe. We actually visited the place twice during our short stay in Ljubljana! We ordered spare ribs and a beefburger. The spare ribs were smoky and tender. They were neither too sweet or too heavy (extra sauce was on the side). Fries were ordered extra as a side. The beefburger was served in a fresh brioche bun and it was juicy and flavorful. The service was warm and welcoming. The waiters spoke excellent English, and the waiter on our 2nd visit had a great sense of humour! He made us laugh a lot! Highly recommended for BBQ lovers, who enjoy friendly service.

Solid burgers and a focus on beer. The burgers are good but nothing extraordinary. Prices are on the higher end, especially considering the lack of sides included in the burger prices. Nonetheless, a nice place if you factor in the location near the water. The place has a big outdoor space; inside there aren’t that many seats. No reservations for groups under 10 people.

Good: very good location, friendly staff. The presentation of burger is nice. But the taste is nothing special. Sauce flavour stands out more than the meat. The size of the burger is not big enough for a guy, for female ok. As a burger lover i tried different burger places in LJ. I think this one a bit overpriced given what it offers. I wouldn’t recommend.

This restaurant was recommended by a local person. I had a beef soup, it was so nice in the rainy afternoon. And I asked the waiter for a Slovenian sausage, which was good but not beyond my expectations. Anyway it was a good meal and the service was quick and kind.

Ambience was great, looked amazing. Foods were delicious esp the creamy mushroom soup in crust of bread, the fish was cooked perfectly and tasted well made. The service was a bit off. Our server seemed to have an attitude. So far, my gastronomic experience was great.

This is the oldest restaurant in Ljubljana and its well worth a visit. We recommend you reserve a table as it’s quite popular and they might not be able to squeeze you in, even during a week day like when we visited. Service was good, spoke English very well and explained some of the preparations for the dish as well. The deer filet was phenomenal that my wife had.

Delicious local food and reasonable priced. The service was pretty slow but to be fair, there was only 1 waiter covering the outside tables where we were sat he was also helpful when choosing a dish and the veal goulash with buckwheat polenta pieces was great!

Arrived about 2130 (advertised as open until 2300.) Maitre d checked and offered us an alcove in a side room (very hot.) One ordered item was mushroom soup in a ‘bread bowl’. Waitress returned to say it would be in a normal bowl. No problems. Starters came but we were only halfway through when the waitress arrived with our mains and said, ‘Sorry, kitchen closed’ (it was still only 2150.) Not very good at all. First course was set aside to allow us to eat a hot main and then it was taken away. Wouldn’t recommend this place at all. To be fair to the waitress, she seemed quite embarrassed by it. No discount offered. Poor show.

Went for 7 courses tasting menu with wine pairing. Food was ok-my expectation was much higher (desert a bit disappointing). I gave overall 4 stars mainly for service which was amazing.

Manca was our server and she was lovely! The food was okay, we did the 7 course tasting menu for dinner which was overpriced for what it was. Some dishes were not the tastiest, however all dishes were creative. Felt like there was something missing in the food to make it special. However the atmosphere and service was great! We did not do the wine pairing.

The interior of the place is very welcoming, however, the service was not at all recommendable. It took quite a while for our food to arrive, even though the restaurant was not too busy. Additionally, not one of our group of 7 was happy with their meal. Two of us ordered a meat dish, we asked for it to be well-done, but we were refused. One of us got sick from the meat being too raw. We were charged extra for simple bread we were served, despite not ordering it. Overall, not a place I’d recommend.

We tried both lunch menus with beef and with fish and both were amazing amazing 💕 The beef could be eaten even without a fork - so tender. Definitely will come back to try something else.

Slovenska Hiša is located right along the Ljubljanica River, and we were so lucky to snag a table during prime dinner hours. It’s such a great spot for people-watching while enjoying traditional (and local) Slovenian fare. Our server, Nika, was absolutely lovely—she recommended some great dishes and was so thoughtful in accommodating my food sensitivities.

The location is the main appeal of this place. It was really lovely to sit and drink some local wine, and not be rushed (the service is very slow but friendly). However their platters are overpriced for what they are.

Lovely place to have a lunch with traditional Slovenian dishes along side the river. We had the meat and cheese plate, and Slovenian sausage. They were very tasty. At the end we had traditional Slovenian dessert; cottage cheese Štruklji. It is worth a try, different from any dessert we ever had.

We've spent a wonderful casual evening here last Monday, sitting outside and people watching. We enjoyed the Plate of local specialties and the Chicken pate. Both was delicious. However, the best of all was Nika, our waitress, always there when needed but never pushy, very communicative and a real gem. So, when there look out for her!

Amazing breakfast. The staff is very nice and accommodating. I recommend this place. And it’s right on the water and the birds visit you while you’re eating. So nice.

I had a very unpleasant experience at this café. My bill was €8.80, and I gave the waiter a €50 note, which is legal payment. He told me it was my problem that he didn’t have change and even threatened to call the police, saying I had no way to pay. This was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. As a customer, I offered valid cash, and the staff should be prepared to provide change or handle the situation politely. I would not recommend this place based on this experience.

Amazing location, just right to the river and the terrace is on the river. We had smashed beef burgers and chicken with bowl of salad. Food was delicious and very good service.

10h breakfast time for us. Nice Oeufs Pochés and fresh orange juice. Waiter is perfect. Location on the floating plateform view on the bridge is ideal! Small kitchen indeed but efficient. I can understand the waiting time in case of full terrasse but it worth it in my opinion ! Toilets are ok despite the old comments ! Resume : nice place and nice people !

Do you like food? Do you like to water? Then put your hands together and head into the basement for this on-lake restaurant. Solid food and the staff does their best, but the view is the best part of this restaurant! (That’s not a bad thing)

Beautiful location right by the river, which was the perfect spot for breakfast. The service was friendly and quick, but without making you feel like you were being rushed, so it was easy to relax and enjoy a slow start to the day. Coffee was good, and the food was even better. Very tasty, and a good portion size. It was perhaps a little on the expensive side, but then that's probably to be expected in a place with such a great location. I'd definitely come here again if I'm ever back in Ljubljana.

A really nice hidden restaurant on the bank of the river. A really nice atmosphere and relaxed vibe however there was randomly children's cartoons being played however there was nice chilled music. The service was flawless pretty much however the food was disappointing as it (the burger especially) was extremely greasy. One would pick it up and a new tributary of the Ljublijanica would be formed. It was a pool of grease. Furthermore there was very few chicken wings in proportion to the chips which were in very large portions.

I came with few friends, we sat outside. It's a burger place and we all loved our burger. We ordered a dessert to share and they made a smaller version of the dessert for each couple which was an exceptional gesture. The view over the river is great and I highly recommend to give them a try. The only downside were the toilets as it's glass doors and almost see-through.

Amazing beer selection in a small cozy bar. The barkeep was very friendly. If you like craft beer then this is a good place to go. Additionally they also have other drinks such as spirits, wine and soft drinks. This means even with a diverse group it is a good place to go.

Beautiful location, just a little outside the heart of the city. It’s a relaxed, cozy spot perfect for catching up with friends. Prices are reasonable, and the spritz I had was delicious. They offer a wide range of drinks, from alcohol-free cocktails to beers and shots. I’ve never been to a pub before, and I’m glad my first experience was such a good one.

Great place for craft beer, with 14 beer lines, offering a range of styles including sours, IPAs and stouts, with beers from Slovenia, Croatia and a beer from Germany when we visited. There's also an extensive bottle list ordered by county, plus the usual drinks for non-drinkers. Two things i really liked; they had a beer list above every table outside on the wall, and the beer matts were matched to the brewery you were drinking, which demonstrates their passion for beer.

This place is the OG craft beer place in Ljubljana. I first visited this pub back in 2017 and revisited it in summer 2025. Nice interior and great variety of local and Balkan craft beers on tap. The barman Henry (not quite sure about his name after having too much beer) is knowledgeable and super nice. Looking forward to visiting again!

Amazing cozy cocktail bar next to the water in Ljubljana. The cocktail where superb and the staff professional and friendly. All in all a nice end of the evening. The place is quite small inside so you need you need to be lucky to get a seat. They have a variety of signature drinks and classic cocktails. Would always go there again.

Cute hidden-away cocktail bar with unique house cocktails. Our order tasted really amazing. The outdoor seating is a small cosy area. The prices were ~14€/cocktail, which is quite pricey for Ljubljana, but worth it for a unique experience.

A hidden gem in the heart of the city! The coffee was absolutely delicious.. rich, smooth, and clearly made with care. The atmosphere had great vibes.. laid-back, welcoming, and perfect for a quiet break. Its prime location makes it an ideal stop before or after exploring the castle. A cozy little coffee shop near the city center, perfect for sitting back, relaxing, and people-watching. They offer a great variety of coffee, nicely presented, and served by incredibly friendly and helpful waiters. Unlike many places in the city center, the prices are very reasonable, making it a spot that’s definitely worth visiting.

Best coffee in town. Special cafeteria in one city with no culture in coffee. They also served the cappuccino with oat milk. Nice, local vibe.

Iced latte macchiato was 80% foam and also tasted like burnt beans. The homemade iced tea is a herbal fruit mix but it was mediocre at best. Not sure why this place is rated so high. Maybe some of the other drinks are better.

Well where do I even start? I didn’t take my phone for my walk but 3 of us stumbled upon this magical place, and it was a life changer experience. Tine the owner and the master barista was beyond impressive, true to his beliefs, completely plastic free and absolutely a one of a his kind man. We have been to hundreds of coffee shops all around the world and this one is a strong number one standing above them all. I wish we could clone Tine and send him all around the world to open the exact same cafe in a cave room like his cafe in the most beautiful Ljubljana. Do not miss out this gem of a spot and definitely sit at the bar and talk to Tine and Brina and watch them make magic happen. Great Irish pub located just next to the dragon's bridge in Ljubjiana. Very friendly barman, Jerry, who really looked after us and we were regaled with authentic Irish shanties and other music. This pub offers both indoor and outdoor seating and the prices are really reasonable. Highly recommended.

Fantastic beer selection, Brew Dog Punk IPA FTW. breakfast served until 2pm!! I had the avocado toast with salmon and the generous smear of avocado on the immaculately cut sesame rye made my early afternoon. Beautiful location alongside the Ljubljanic River under the shade of trees and umbrellas with views of the dragon bridge the castle and all the great people visiting this charming city. Service was over the top, music was right out of my playlist. Thanks!!

An Unforgettable Tuesday Night at Irish Pub – Karaoke Perfection! I stumbled across Irish Pub on a Tuesday night and it turned out to be one of the best spontaneous decisions of my trip. What I expected to be a casual drink turned into a full-blown karaoke party – and I absolutely loved every second of it. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was buzzing. The bar was alive with energy, laughter, and good vibes. Everyone – locals, travelers, solo guests, and groups – was so friendly and welcoming. The staff were fantastic too – super attentive, good-humored, and they clearly enjoy creating a great experience for everyone. It’s an Irish bar outside of Ireland, so to me they are all starting to look the same. Great Guinness and they also server Erdinger and Augustiner Bier! Service was outstanding!

beer was cold and fresh, our waiter was super fast and friendly, despite being alone for a whole garden. we also tried wings and fries. nothing special, tasted like wings from the frozen bag. would recommend you to visit to grab a beer or two, but not for the food.

Pivnica Union very pleasant and friendly restaurant. Personalities professional and honestly fast. Quality great and extreme taste. Prices normal usually in the middle not expensive not cheap it's natural price for restaurant. Boys and girls you want regret for sure.

Mediocre but very pricey. However the sweets look tasty. Seats would benefit of a refurbishment. The service is below expectation in all aspects and thus you get really annoyed when they expect you to give that practically mandatory tip to the waiter. This tip system on the POS terminals is just shameless and we will be giving minus points for these nonsense everywhere we see this. It is not that common elsewhere fortunately.

I went here with the love of my life! This is a nice little Cafe near the museum, with decent drinks and a large selection of mild cakes. The waiter tolerated us well considering our American cluelessness to the cake flavors only written in Slovenian and the unusual order of an iced latte. There is a view of a nearby church, some plants, some shade cover for sunny days, which was pleasant. Music selection was interesting.

The shade of trees, the neat exterior layout, the beatnik vibe, and the nearby park make this one of the nicest bars in town on a hot summer day. Raspberry tea + half-liter glass with ice = best "home-made" ice tea in town 🌞

2 months ago ive been here and i still remember this. Not to glazing anyone here but i was fascinated by that waiter single handily carrying his entire staff , seeing noob waiters being slow and inefficient but this guy marko with a K not a C(i asked his name cause i’ve never seen a waiter beeing that good) taking orders while carrying a tray with 15 drinks on. Handeling the entire busy friday eve like a afternoon nap. If i open my own place one day i will steal this gem of a waiter. Better give him a pay rise! We didnt have food so i cant rate that.

Must visit! Beautiful place. Big garden with beach chairs, to have a bite or a drink. Credit cards are accepted. Very big. Next to / on the site of the Slovenian Ethnographic Museum. Very good cocktails.

Your typical mall burger place with okay food, decent serving and some odd seating choices. The food’s average at best - although the burger meat was quite good. Worst thing was the taste of cheap oil that the fried items were made in. Unacceptable. Portion sizes could be a bit more balanced (eg. burger somewhat small, but large amount of fries). Most of what got served was store bought - so no fresh-made buns/fries/sauces or anything. The outside terrace is right next to the “bridge” between the mall and the parking lot, so there’s quite a bit of noise from the people passing by. Not bothersome, but something to keep in mind. Overall not a bad place, but the choice of ingredients really pulls it down…

They had two vegan options which was a burger and a salad. The truffle fries were from a bag and didn’t taste like truffle at all. The burger fell apart and everything was store bought and not fresh ,every single thing had a very strong taste of a cheap oil.

The staff here was not that friendly, we didn’t really feel welcome. We had to wait a bit to get our food, which is normal. We ordered the American pancakes, a burger and some fries. The fries are frozen, but the first time we ordered them, they were actually surprisingly really very good. So, we ordered them again and the second portion was not nearly as good as the first one. They forgot to salt it and it was not prepared the same way. They should have some consistency in preparing the frozen french fries, I think. The burger was not bad, but the BBQ sauce was extremely overpowering the rest of the flavors in the burger. So, the only thing you can really taste is the super sweer BBQ sauce. It’s not a bad sauce, there was just too much of it. The cheese slice was not melted, and there was not enough salad in the burger. The bun was great tho’! Amaizing. The American pancakes... they were ok. Extremely sweet and the texture was not that good. I had better ones before. The strawberries were nice and fresh, but the candies on the pancakes were not good. They had a very cheap taste.

Beautiful food and chilled atmosphere. The only thing that let my food down was that the avocado was too mashed whereas I would have preferred it a bit thicker/have a bit more substance. The waiter, although lovely, and I don’t know if this is a Slovenian thing because I’ve noticed it quite a lot, seemed a bit like they were bored/didn’t want to be there, our water was nearly thrown down on the table. But to be fair it was a heavy bottle. Wouldn’t stop me going again. Really really enjoyed it. My partner got the burger and chips. The chips were amazing, they were like scoops! But nothing to scoop! Should have had coleslaw or something :)

The burgers were decent but served cold and bacon was hard to chew otherwise this could be a 4 star review. The amercian pancakes are great though and they offer interesting combinations.

The ambience is quite nice inside the bar, but the staff and drinks not so much. The staff is very slow, and they also have an attitude. The sweets are overpriced and not great at all. Stale and not well presented. The drinks are absolutely nothing special and there is no consistency, one cocktail has a lot of alcohol in it and the next is very watered down. Not that great for our first experience. I wouldn’t recommend it and will most likely not come here again.

Overpriced and underwhelming. Could barely taste the gin in a watery gin and tonic and charged 9 euros for an alcohol free cocktail comprising of fruit juice, sparkling water, a lot of ice and a sprig of mint. When challenged about the price the waiter told me that he was "doing me a favour". It wasn't on the menu and he offered to make it. When I checked the menu for the normal alcoholic cocktails, most of these were priced around 7-8 euros so he was clearly taking advantage, ripping off unsuspecting customers with children.

The amount of rudeness and ignorance of the staff working there is insane. The place was half- full (so, not really crowded), and we were waiting to get served for literally half an hour. We even saw the waiter and asked him, but he just ignored us (he basically looked at and left). Later I went inside and asked the lady at the bar and she said she will get him come to us, which again never happened. 😂

Interesting space with high ceilings and a gallery. Liked the wall treatments and comfy seating area. A bit pricey, but worth a stop for a coffee, good location with outdoor seating. Disinterested staff. Dog friendly.

We came and the floor was packed fulll, it was cool since I am a guy bit me and about 20 others had to wait for full 1,5h to get our jackets and rucksack from the wardrobe. Wasnt cool, but either way.

I’ve spent over €1.2k on VIP table here, and the service is nowhere near what they charge for. The sofa at “super vip table” barely seat 5–6 people comfortably . The rest of your group is left standing. Not by choice, but because they simply don’t provide proper space. They also sell “VIP tickets” to people without tables, so the VIP area gets packed and loses all exclusivity. You have to push through a crowd just to reach the bathroom which is filthy after the first 30min of event. Smoking at your table isn’t allowed either. You can smoke at the VIP table in all other countries. At least they could have a private smoking area for VIP guests. I’ve had reservation messed up and I had to argue at the entrance for 20min to get the right table. Also my friend got kicked out for a minor thing. It took them 2 days to respond to my message about reservation request. This club overcharges for a mid experience. Don’t waste your money here if you expect premium VIP treatment. You won’t get it there.

This club is alright. Although the entrance fee was 15 euros at least the drinks inside were not at rip off prices, which you often see in mainstream clubs. The sound system was extremely loud and of bad quality, nothing compared to some of the clubs I have been to before. I do have to say the vibe was good and the crowd was fun, which is something I missed in other balkan clubs. Overall its worth checking out but wouldn't stay longer than just a few hours.

The music was to loud, no toilet paper at all. Not even at the beginning of the evening. you could barely move around on the dancefloor. I would not recommend this club. Prices for drinks are very high!

Security for keeping clothes that costs 2 euros is terrible. When I wanted to pick up my jacket, it turned out that they just lost it, the girls who were responsible for the clothes: Kalina, Iza and a few other girls, unfortunately, I don't know their names, just apologized and said that I had to wait for the club to close and then my problem would be solved. In the end, the manager also did not want to solve the problem in any way, she just gave her phone number and that's it. As a result, I was left without a jacket, waited 3 hours in the club, spoiled my mood. I strongly don't recommend this place if you don't wanna have such problems.

Horrible place! Can't recommend it for women - unless you enjoy being harrassed & touched inappropriately without consent by 18 year olds and then being laughed at when you tell them to leave you alone. When we asked the bouncer & the girls at the entry whether we could buy a ticket for the VIP area because of the constant harassment in the "normal" area, they said the VIP area is already full & it would not be any different there.

This is definitely not a club but more like a bar with techno, house, tons of tables, chairs and outdoor smoking area. Wasn’t for me for many reason but maybe it’s for you. My experience: the place was crawling with what look like 16-22 year olds, many whom don’t know how to party, vomit all over the place, and have to be carried out. Worst part of all was the bathroom situation. One women’s bathroom in the entire venue with I can’t remember the exactly number but think 2-4 stalls max and queues are 20 people deep so best to start queuing before you think you will have to go. Worth for you to be aware that they charge €20/pp entrance fee and it is connected to a hostel which probably explains some things I experienced. I ordered one drink (bar tender very nice, good and quick service) and left.

We wanted go to a party scheduled by the Instagram account « Easter ravj » But the club was closed, nobody or no message was here to help us. So we asked the hostel : They just gave us the info « the dj cancelled » We were so disappointed… we had no info before of in Instagram… and no other club was open… the party was cancelled… it’s not professional 🤬

Very cool club, with a variety of different events going on every week. It's one of the few places to do some Psy trance events, and it gets decorated incredibly for those nights...feels like you enter another dimension🙏🤯

People behind the bar aren't very competent, felt super unsafe the whole time. Security let's anyone in, 50% creepy men who were groping all of the women in our group and security didn't care.

Nice little club with two floors (one has a pit!), good sound system, great lights and design. I went for Ment festival with Dekmantel Soundsystem, Nulla and Terranigma playing and had a good time.

Ziferblat is a different concept bar / place, where you don't pay for what you drink or eat but you pau for the time spent there. Price per minute for Students is 4 cents and for non students it's 5. As you arrive, the person behind the counter explains everything to you in a very kind and friendly manner. You take an old wake-up clock (that doesn't work) and you take it to the table or the sitting place where you're going to spend your time. If you're in a group you get special off prices as well. There are also a lot of events happening there, like meeting the locals or various talks. Attending these events gives you a special price as well. During your stay, you can drink various teas and eat whatever you can find in the kitchen. Everything is self service, the people that work there can and will always help you out if you will get stuck with something. They also have free wifi, power outlets almost everywhere and a big choice of boardgames to play. They do not serve alcoholic drinks.

Really amazing space. The highlight for me was the espresso machine which as a barista myself was extremely enjoyable. Wish we could have made the lovely host's chess club.

Not a typical coffee place. But rather a very cozy place for people to meet, play games, play the piano, learn Slovenian and make themselves at home with a coffee or a tea. Excellent idea! Very relaxing and inviting. You pay by the hour and can use whatever is there in the kitchen. Usually you can find tea, coffee, and snacks. The crowd is an interesting one, mostly students (local and foreign).

Such a lovely and welcoming spot! For tourists looking for a chill out haven or for locals, it is suited to all public. The payment method where you pay a mere 5 cents per minute for all the facilities and the food is a wonderful system. If I hadn't already had plans for today I'd have stayed here all day. The hostess speaks perfect English and is glad to help you with any enquiries you have.

Lovely café that makes you feel right at home. Their concept is to charge you for the time you spend there (5 ct./h) and everything else is free. The hosts are outgoing and friendly, always there to help you. A nice touch is that you are allowed to prepare your own coffee with a barista style machine (very cool :-)). There are corners for those who want to keep to themselves or nice tables for larger groups. You can have music (and change it) board games and a friendly chat. Ziferblat is set back in a courtyard so its quiet and very relaxing.

Fabulous environment and great staff. It's a super comfortable and welcoming place. However there are problems with the internet way too often. This would be the best workspace ever but.... Internet. You have to have 100% reliable internet to be a great space. I'd say theirs is 80% Also note, it's a co-working space, not a coffee shop. There's no menu but they have great coffee and some basic snacks as part of the few for using the place.

We went to top six at approximately 2.15am. I had to pay 10 € entrance fee for 2 people (and we were around 10 people), went up to the top and were there for NOT EVEN 5 minutes because the music stopped and we didn’t even had the time to get drinks!!!!!! Im very disappointed about the policy of your Staff letting new people enter and pay for that - knowing that the the club will close. Paying 5 euro for 5 mins is just ridiculous and an insult. Usually we love to go to top six but if that’s the way how you treat your customers we won’t come back anymore!

I put a star because you can't put zero. I have been cheated.I asked for a drink and they told me it cost 4€. when I checked my bank account they had charged me 60€ and they didn't want to give it back to me. I was forced to go to the police to report. also the goalkeepers were very aggressive. If you want to spend a good night of partying I do not recommend it at all

Probably the worst place for any occasion. In our case a failed attempt to celebrate new year. After having a confirmed booking online the experience started by them trying to take more money at the entrance than what was advised to us via emails. Further, they tried to scam us by giving us a table for standing up, while we had paid for "vip" seated table. After all these failed attempts to get what we had agreed on, we asked for full refund, which took them an hour to give. As it was already 4 min to midnight, we asked at least to mark midnight inside before we go out, especially since we also had purchased bottle for ourselves, however this was denied to us...so New Year started at the elevator! An additional moment was when same bartender asked for different price for exact same bottle of champagne to two separate friends! No words, proper for a review, could describe this experience. Ljubljana has been amazing, but avoid this place for any occasion you actually want to enjoy in this pretty European city.

Terrible experience. Poorly organised and rather ripping off driven than customer oriented. We booked a table with sofa for 10 for nye and we arrived there to find out that they we were assigned a standing table which would normally fit max 6 people. When kindly asking for a solution no one cared to help us any how and eventually when deciding to leave and asking our 600 eur back ( paid for the reservation) we were left waiting for half an hour. We had to wait and had to give explanation to several people as we were told that there is no manager around and when we bought a bottle of champagne from the bar to have something to cheer with at midnight ( as we weee just being kicked out and at the elevator during countdown) I was told a price and my friend was told a completely different price. Otherwise the place looked nice and having a great view, but I would not recommend it for groups larger than 3-4 people . Also don't expect friendly staff and definitely double check your bill at the end.

this place is a total prank. DO NOT GO THERE! we had reserved a vip package. you have to pay an additional entrance fee which was not communicated earlier. after we had paid a lady took us upstairs but no table was available. the waiter wanted to give us a place where we had to stand at a very remote place in the club. we rejected and asked for our money back. in the first place he did not want to return our money. only after lots of efforts we managed to get the money for the bottle back (120eur), but they refused to return the cash we paid on top for getting in (4x10eur). go to AS Apperetivo instead, we had a great time there!

The worst place for partying. The waiters and dancers are a bunch of stealing, gready, lazyass and unfriendly as they can be. Like u will see in other comments, there were some (it's really common) orderd tables with sofas in the VIP but than got stuck standing in the corner with a small high table. (dont assume it will be like u agread beforehand) Prices are very high but you don't even get a decent asortament of drinks. You will be discussed at the toilets. There was always so much broken glass on the floor that you had to wipe your shoes for every step you made(searching for a corner were you could wipe you shoes is a real job there) ... I realy advise u to go somewhere else for a good time.

This place was a massive disappointment. We booked a table for 10 with sofa and when we arrived they gave us a standing table when we particularly asked for the sofa as one of our friends can't stand due to medical reasons. The Dragon Bridge in Ljubljana is one of the city's most iconic landmarks, symbolizing Ljubljana's identity. It is located in Ljubljana's city center over the Ljubljanica River. The bridge is famous for its four large bronze dragon statues—two at each end—and sixteen smaller dragons decorating the bridge's span.

Definitely my favorite bridge in all of Europe, because I love dragons. And this was very close and walkable to my hotel and in the center of everything there is to do in town definitely worth a stop and it even is the site of a geocache.

Nothing too special on its own, but the dragon statues are iconic and symbolic to Ljubljana. Definitely worth a quick stop and a photo if you’re exploring the city.

Impressive dragons decorate this Art Nouveau bridge that was built between 1900 and 1901 and the first with a reinforced concrete structure in town. The story goes that the dragons are tied to the Greek myth of Jason and the Argonauts, who are said to have founded Ljubljana and slain a dragon nearby.

Beautiful large green dragon statues built in 1901. Locals say tshe dragons wag their tails when a virgin crosses the bridge (a fun old joke among residents).

It's a bridge with Dragons on it. We counted at least 20. Good place for a photo. Some people may say its crowded but I'd say it has atmosphere with people stopping to take photographs or passing by as they head to the nearby cafes and restaurants.

TA Bar was an incredible experience from start to finish. The servers were knowledgeable and accommodating and the food was delicious. I had the crab “tacos” to start. Then wild mushrooms (that’s egg yolk on top) and the venison skewers-and I can honestly say this dish is one of the tastiest things I’ve eaten in my many travels. The wine was lovely, and regional-bottled less than 100km from Ljubljana. Can’t wait for my next visit!

Excellent Slovenian take on tapas. Good size servings for tapas with some standing out more than others. The deer steak was succulent and melted in your mouth and we loved the crispy kale dish as well. A good non touristy spot.

Amazing food & concept! You can tell the quality of the ingredients is a high one. When we were there the restaurant was empty which made the vibe not very vibrant, but I can tell is a cool spot!

Excellent place for small plates/tapas. Everything we ordered was really good!! The orange wines were perfection! Great atmosphere to with friends or as a couple.

We were served by Tine. Service was excellent, food as well. We especially enjoyed truffle pasta and tiramisu! Good quality for the price!

Food was very tasty, but almost too salty (which says a lot since I am a Swede). Excellent selection of wine and the staff was very helpful. Also had some craft beer, for example I had a Islay Barrel aged beer of 18% as my aperitif (never seen that beer anywhere else in Ljubljana). My first dish I forgot to take a photo of (sadly, it was the best one) a cold dish with adriatic fish and cucumber, very delicious. They also told me that they offer deer because the chef is a hunter so he has actually provided his game for the restaurant.

This is a great resturant near the bridge and with open tables. Quick service some Good food and beer. We tried their chicken wings and veg pizza and both were delicious. Do ask for chilly oil if you love some spicy kick. It’s really nice. Server was quick and good. Tipping is option although they will insist.

The place is beautiful by the river and the service is excellent. They have many types of pizza, especially seafood, but unfortunately they are not good enough. The dough is good, but the toppings are very melted and fall off the dough, making it difficult to eat. Also, the seafood toppings are not enough, it's like eating margherita pizza of 15 euros.

Today i ordered one spicy salami pizza(vražja pizza) . Pizza quality was very poor. There was not enough of topping on the pizza i received only 6 pieces of spicy salami on pizza. It was definitely not worth 12.90€. Normally i am not the guy who complains a lot but this didn’t happen for the first time.

The staff had a very friendly and professional attitude. Even though it was very busy, they quickly came to take orders and paid attention to everyone. The Caesar salad was delicious and had a generous portion, and the burger was tasty as well

We discovered this place during our stay in Ljubljana and were immediately impressed by the great atmosphere and friendly staff. Service from Micha was excellent – professional, warm and welcoming. The drinks were great and we really enjoyed the vibe here. We even came back a second time during our trip, which speaks for itself. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a nice spot in the heart of Ljubljana.

We had a Farmer Burger and a Bacon Burger for lunch. They were delicious. Both burgers were very juicy and the buns super fluffy. The drinks (green iced tea) were also really nice. The fries were unfortunately rather served warm than hot so they soon became cold fries due to the rather cool weather today. However, they still tasted good.

Nice place for the meal. It is located in the city center, beside the river Ljubljanica. You can seat inside or outside. Food is simple and tasty. It is not cheap and not very expensive. Toiletes are ok. You don't wait too long for your meal.

The place for pizza in Ljubljana. Probably the best wood-fired pizza we’ve had, with an open kitchen and a stylish interior. If you can, sit outside — the view of the river and the castle makes it even better. Honestly, a must-visit in the city… five stars feel like too few.

If you’re craving good pizza served by friendly staff, this is the place for you. This spot is popular with the locals for their delicious Neapolitan style pizza. We ordered the Amore mi and the L’Imperiale pizza, and both tasted great. Their chili oil added another level of flavour to the pizza. The Caesar salad was also fresh and well-dressed. It’s no surprise that Pop’s Pizza has been recognized as one of the best European pizza spots outside of Italy.

One of the best pizzas I ever had. Even better than ones in Italy! Very nice pizza options and it’s located just in the city center. The service was great! The prices are fair between 12-15 EUR. The only minus were the bees attacking us while sitting outside (but this is nothing they can do about it) and the long queue for the toilet (as they only have one). Overall 10/10 🍕

Decent pizza. We had a pizza with salami and a Margherita, these were both nice. Service was good too. The birds would annoy you, not the places fault obviously.

On a wet first night perfect start to our first night Excellent pizza..recommend their spicy pizza had a nice kick but not too hot, the prawn and the mushroom pizzas both delicious. Our 20 somethings followed up with take away twice each over the following week.

A good place to get some authentic Indian food. The price is slightly high but the food is good. The taste is goid and authentic even though not the best. You get a good atmosphere and the staff us friendly and polite. The interior could have been much simpler. It is overstuffed with unnecessary paintings and wall papers to display the Indian art and culture which is good but it could have had more simpler and relaxing designs for people's to enjoy their meal. The place was clean and maintained well. I also saw that it has a buffet area which is a good for people who want to try and choose what they like. The location is good but has a lack of parking and difficult to find one nearby. Overall if you are looking for a Indian cousins at this place this will be a good place as the food is good and the place is clean. I will recommend it for food, hospitality and value of money.

Delicious food with good quantity, awesome staff. Highly recommended if someone like to taste Indian cuisine. Distance from Ljubljana Bus/Railway station is 1km (Approx) and from most popular Dragon bridge approx 400-500 meters.

Must try their parantha. It was best just like we made in india. I specifically recommend for this restaurant because when I was in slovenia we have to come 40km from Novo mesto to Ljubljana for Indian food.

So amazing restaurant! The menu choice is so wide that you have troubles to decide. There is definitely something for everybody from gluten free options to vegetarian or vegan. The portion of main dish did not seem big enough when it was delivered; however, it turned out as being too big. Also, share side dish (rice, potatoes) with another person because you really get a lot. Three of us were very satisfied with the taste of everything we ordered. Baked potatoes were too salty and spiced for me but delicious anyway. You can either take regular basmati rice (which they deliver from India) or rice combined with some other things, e.g. coconut rice, rice with peas, rice with tomatoes, rice with lemon. Regarding main dishes, we had Lamb Do Piaza (Punjabi style lamb with fried onions and green peppers), Beef Do Piaza (Punjabi style beef with fried onions and green peppers) and Lamb Karahi (lamb with green peppers and tomatoes in Punjabi curry sauce). The latter is also gluten free and all of them so delicious. Moreover, garlic soup was tasty, too. For all these, we paid 50€ which is quite a lot but anyway highly recommended. Generally, the prices for main dishes are between 10€ and 15€, for side dishes between 2€ and 4€.

The place realy dosent look like much. A small place in the center of Ljubljana. But then comes a very Nice staff and they serve you delicius food. The taste is perfect, and I dont think you can get genuine indian food anywhere else in Ljubljana. I would recomend it to anyone who love the taste on indian cuisine.

A good Indian restaurant with okay prices, especially for students. 9.99€ all you can eat, variety of ala carte choices, a little run down though. The staff is friendly but only speaks hindu and English so you can't speak Slovenian with them.

We asked specifically for a dish with bone and meat and the waiter said chicken karahi. We ordered this and roghan josh with lamb and both dishes were boneless. The waiter didn't even apologise for giving wrong information when we confronted him. The meat was hard and smelly. Naans were ok. Food came after 10 minutes. Imagine 2 indian dishes and 3 different naan in 10 min. The meat must have been prepared long time ago and heated/freezed many times. We beeing originally from Pakistan/India recommend Namaste Indian Restaurant which we also tried and which has more authentic and fresh and tasty food.
