The fish (a small cod, everyone in the party ordered the same) was so wonderfully flavorful and soft, and the chips were clearly freshly made and tasted amazing, not to mention that the staff multiple times approached to ask us if we wanted any more chips: having the option to have more chips, if the original portion isn't enough, is incredibly lovely, and we were all beyond grateful for the offer, however chose not to have more, as we figured the portions already on our plate were enough for our needs. The restaurant is located in the town, about a ten minute walk from the hotel we were staying at. On arrival we were shown to our table in the window. Whilst deciding on the menu we ordered a couple of cocktails. We had to kick off with the Bread Bag. Homemade bread served in a bag,which you have to rip open to release the smokey scent of roasted garlic and rosemary. Followed by Brixham scallops served with Spanish beef black pudding. Slow cooked beef brisket marinated in an asian inspired sauce,sandwiched and fried in beef dripping with gruyere cheese served with a mushroom and marmalade dipping sauce. Served with homemade bread and oil. We finished with an affogato and coffee. This was a tapas with a difference and a great find. There were 18 of us in total and from the start of my enquiry in to The Dock hosting us all, right up until we walked out the door they have been incredibly. Nothing was too much trouble and the two women who served us the whole night were just so lovely and helpful. They were so friendly and made everything easy and even brought out the cake for us. The food and atmosphere was brilliant too. I really cannot thank you all enough for the best evening to celebrate a special event.

There are water fountain stations which my baby loved watching spurt and tip out water at different speeds. There’s an assault course for rubber ducks and a pirate ship theme in a separate section to the main pool, and a further waterfall around a mini pool. There’s a water slide too but I don’t think this is always functional. It’s fantastic for kids. Reception staff were very helpful giving advice on membership etc. The down sides were the changing rooms - there is nowhere to get dressed with privacy as there are only single changing rooms with a curtain, no family size changing rooms to put your baby down safely while you dress. It would be a squeeze to be in there with an older child too let alone more than one child. Nappy bins need emptying. The water was supposed to be 31 degrees but was very cold so must have not been heated to the correct temperature. Unfortunately parking adds quite an additional cost and drinks are basic but expensive in the cafe. There is no accessible toilet apart from upstairs very far from the pool.
