Omg they were soooo good. What happened!? Family is in from out of state the first thing they want to do is go to Newport and get elephant ears. So that’s what we did! They are smaller and now cost 5$ each. 5$ for 1 elephant ear. At the cost it takes to make them that’s a bit steep. But that’s not even the worst part. They sold them to us with parchment paper for some type of sport on them which was fine. They didn’t sit in a hot car we bought them in our way back home. I don’t remember the elephant ears being sticky at all before and now they have this glaze on them that soaked up the paper they cooked them on. I never ever wrote reviews like this and I understand businesses have been through the ringer because of the financial strains from Covid. I’d be willing to pay the 5$ for special occasions but not when we’d have to eat around the cooking paper that’s stuck to them. I hope 1 day they’ll drop the price and I’ll be back if they do.
