There were a lot of people making use of the site while I was there. All told, I am grateful for this put-in point -- it is much better than trying to put in or take out on an unmodified river bank. But I do have a few complaints. First, the drop off area is covered with coarse gravel. This is fine for driving or walking, but I would really prefer to set my boat down on something less prone to mar the surface -- grass, sand, or pea gravel would all be better. Second, the slope down to the river is a set of concrete steps ... this might work OK if you have two people working the boat, but it is not easy to solo carry a full sized yak up or down the staircase. I would prefer to traverse a gentle slope. Finally, the transfer point does not work well. The concrete pier is too​ high above the water to go straight from the pier into the boat. The shore is all rocks and mud, so there is no good place to perform a shore entry. I ended up setting my boat on the pier, climbing down into the river and then lifting the boat down into the water and performing a wet entry. The footing in the water around the pier is treacherous (a mix of slick mud and irregular rocks) and this was compounded by a heavy silt load which reduced visibility below the surface to nil as soon as I stepped into it. A better pier would be ideal, but that is probably not in the park budget. But the site could be greatly improved at a reasonable cost by adding a groomed shore entry point beside the pier and and grooming the river bed immediately beside the pier.
