Well turns out we didn't have access to the health centre, nor to play billiards, Darleys restaurant (which is where we planned to spend our 10yr anniversary dinner) and when we went to book into the day spa we were booked into another hotel 18mins away because suprise, that was also closed. No complimentary taxi was provided to us either to make the journey. Disgusting. Some other people staying there complained they were woken by drilling above their room at 7.30am as well! There was duck poo all around the outdoor pool and no deck chairs around to relax, just uncomfortable seats. The location of Lilianfels however is amazing and close to some beautiful, easy walks with incredible views. Will we go back? To Katoomba yes, but not Lilianfels based on this experience.

We were told that there were some accessible rooms on the first floor and we booked one. The hotel was in no way accessible. The entrance was up a bunch of stairs with shoddy hand rails and when we were led to our room on the "1st floor" it was also up some more stairs. I would like to believe that there was a misunderstanding of our needs due to a language barrier rather than the possibility that they just lied about it being accessible. The room was a bit small but had enough room to move around, the big problem was that it smelt strongly of mold and my allergies immediately flared up apon entering the building. The included Continental breakfast was sufficient and the reception staff were friendly. Overall it is not somewhere I would visit again and if you have mobility issues I suggest you don't either. If you are willing to put up with the smell of mold and damp earth then you may enjoy your stay.
