As I hobbled on crutches into Rive a few minutes before opening today, my friend and I were greeted by the lovely Caroline. She led us to a prime table next to the Saugatuck, inquired how I was doing, and brought over a chair so that I could elevate my leg. This was my first visit to Rive, and the entire experience was amazing. The waitstaff, background music and delicious food made for a lovely al fresco lunch. The salad of the day with grilled shrimp, pate, sparkling rose, croque monsieur and profiteroles were all excellent. This establishment is a real gem in Westport.

I attended a private function in the upstairs room. The atmosphere was classy & charming. There was a very pretty view overlooking the river with an outdoor balcony. It was a limited menu due to the nature of the function, but everything was top notch & delicious. There were around 30 of us, and everyone raved about the food. The service was impeccable. Love the ambiance here! I recommend making a reservation in advance. My friend and I came here on a Sunday afternoon and waited for only around an hour (luckily), the restaurant was packed! They have indoor and outdoor seating.
What is really nice is that when you're waiting you can check out their shop and garden! It's so beautiful and they have great stuff. Their items in store and at the restaurant are a bit pricer for what you're getting though. Since it seems more upscale and farm to table I was expecting better service. Our server messed up our drinks and food order and rarely checked in on us.
As for the food, I got the shakshuka which was good, not the best ever but decent. I wish it was a little more salty, but the fresh tomatoes made up for it. My friend got a frittata and thought it was okay. Needed more salt as well. We definitely do not recommend the matcha as you can't even taste it. But my blackberry spritzer was good.
All in all, food was okay, vibes were great, service was not up to par for cost.

I arrived on a beautiful late Saturday afternoon and was informed there was a 30 min wait for a table (make a reservation ahead) but I was easily able to get a seat at the bar.

A while later the sesame ribeye and roasted duck tacos arrived. Both were moist and full of flavor, and the roasted duck just blew me away. I would come here again just for this.
The tacos looked to be small, but were filled with lots of meat and I was more than satisfied.
There were 3 bottled sauces that I did try but did not use on my taco, yet I do appreciate they are avaible and all are really good.
Decor is nice and outside dining area seems very lovely with views of the Saugatuck river and bridge.
The staff was bustling and hard working, but noticed none smiled or joked with each other or customers. They sure worked non stop. However, they were all professional and courteous.
The restrooms and the establishment were clean and all seemed to run smoothly, which is impressive with the amount of continuous traffic.

We hosted our Staples 20 year high school reunion there last weekend with about a 100 people and it was such a great experience from start to finish. The venue was perfect - we used the two outdoor spaces and the bar area. They set it up for us and then helped us rearrange it however we wanted it and get there an hour and half early to start setting up. They even provided extra supplies for us to set up signs, and helped moved flower pots, etc. When it got a bit too windy and cold, we started taking over more of the restaurant space and they were very nice about that. The cost was extremely reasonable for a 4 hour open bar and lots of apps like sliders, quesadillas, their amazing pretzels, etc. Everyone thought the food was so fresh and delicious and the Manager (Oliver), bartender (Joe) and all the wait staff were all beyond helpful and friendly and speedy. They really helped make the night a success and special for everyone! They also kept track of all the stuff everyone forgot behind and made it easy to come pick it up the next day ha. I’m pretty upset. I ordered the general tso chicken for lunch and it was quite frankly, awful. The sauce was tasty, but the quality of the chicken used was well below satisfactory. I recommend the beef crispy and then I also loved the deviled egg appetizer! Everything was so fresh and also presented so beautifully. The green tea was also very special.

While they look to be fully staffed the actual staff were not friendly (not mean either) and had the general appearance of not caring. While the food (smoke shake burger) was good it wasn't all I had hoped for especially for it's price of $7.29. I felt the sweet peppers should have been warmed with it. We enjoyed a rainy day late lunch at Tacombi and felt transported during our meal. The food and atmosphere reminded us of taquerias in Houston, and the agua frescas of vacation in Cabo. Prices are definitely Westport though. Sadly it was empty - maybe due to the time of day (2:30 on a Sunday). Nice vibe, good background music, refreshing drinks, tasty food and good service. An alternative to Bar Taco, which we also really enjoy. We will be back.

It was the worst, I can get that anywhere for less then 15 dollars just for Fry's and shaved stake on a burrito no sides nothing, plus it was really dry. Sat outside on a beautiful August evening, moderate noise great vibe on the porch everyone having a great time. Food was excellent, but the best of all was the selection of hot sauces - amazing flavors!! Got the Mango/Cilantro margarita, very strange, the classic one is great though. I would say the meats and overall dishes are a touch dry (add sauces and youŕe good) and the portion size is controlled - I have to go try other dishes especially the fish taco. We got Quesadillas Al Pastor (best dish I think), Tacos Beef Ribeye - the meat was very tender and a little greasy, not heavily seasoned at all (add sauces and youŕe good), Quesadilla Carne Asada. For desert took the Churros with chocolate to go the chocolate was outstanding but the churros were a bit tough and soggy (theyŕe probably better straight outta the kitchen).

The Taco Tuesday “buy one, get one free” is not as advertised. We’ve had some good meals at this place so decided to try out Taco Tuesday. To our surprise, when the check came we found out they select the lowest priced tacos ordered by the table not by the person as the free ones, ensuring you pay the most possible. Disappointing.

Excellent service. Decent atmosphere. Food is authentic but cooks needs better direction and management in kitchen. Cheese Quesadillas came out with beef residue and brown grease on top and generally tasted like beef. Ordered cheese so vegetarians beware!. Manager was useless. Server was superb. Recently, we’d ordered online and there was hair in my daughter’s beef taco. I called Tacombi, they apologized and refunded the money. I spent months without going there or ordering online and decided to go back today but unfortunately, it has gotten worse.
It’s not a kid-friendly menu. We ordered the new chicken taco (with Tinga marinate) and no one ever said it was spicy. I ordered for my daughters and asked before. The street corn for kids came with chilli on top. My daughter said rice & beans were spicy and I didn’t believe her until I tried it myself, and my lips were burning. Everything took really long (over half hour) and had been over 40 minutes, no beef taco coming so I canceled it and asked for check. Everything very spicy, the food we received took really long. We have come here many times and tried a lot of things in the menu but currently, there is absolutely no food for kids unless your kids like spicy food. We’re not coming back.
