The building is rustic warehouse style but the food is as good as you'd get at some of Perth's best restaurants. We had prawn dumplings, in a rich aromatic creamy sauce. Plus pulled beef tacos with asian spices. Both were fresh and spicy (chilly but not too hot) and v delicious. For dessert freshly baked donuts in a rum syrup with lime ice cream (taste just like a cinnamon donut) and a kind of key lime pie (without pastry) beneath a bed of chocolate dust, with marshmallow, ice cream and tropical fruit. The lime was a bit sour for my liking (i preferred the donut) but i still ate it all . Had a couple of glasses of wine and a very good coffee (hard to find in Perth) I'd like to go back to try Alter ego as the south american tapas food on their facebook page looks even more amazing. I imagine it would be quite hot in summer (not sure it's air conditioned) but if you sit outside (theres about 8 tables on the street) it is quite tranquil, except today when the traffic noise from loud motorbikes was quite loud.
