We first went in for lunch, salt n pepper squid, chicken parmigiana, then went back for the roast at night, both meals were great. The chef's did a great job. I forgot to say gluten free for the roast because at lunch the gravy and condiments come in a small dish, but at night it was put all over. But the people were bloody awesome and took it back n gave me one without gravy, but some wine thing like gravy in a small dish on the side. Worth going in for drinks and a meal. The staff are friendly and helpful to. Grab a park where ever you can n go on in for a great meal n drinks.

Great place to unwind and relax or head out for a night, plenty of TVs with multiple options to enjoy some sport while. Service is always quick and to the bar manager Luna. She’s unbelievable. Mal the manager was extremely helpful and friendly..even organised a ride to the station as we couldn't get a taxi. Nothing was to much trouble for him. We will definitely stay there again..maybe next year again for the races. So centrally located.

We were told to go to The Palace Hotel from Marg at information what a breath of fresh she was. The Balcony was delicious from the beginning to the end. The food was very average. The crispy roast duck wasn't crispy and the duck had no flavour, the sauce was nice but not enough of it. The trio platter was under cooked, it wasn't cooked for what we asked. Not once did the waitstaff ask if everything was ok with the meal, they would walk past and not even look at any of the tables. And at the end when paying for our meal, we weren't asked if everything was ok. For the only fine dining restaurant in Kalgoorlie, the money is not worth the experience.

Disappointed with our experience here, both food and service.
Our waitress was anything but inviting or friendly and certainly not professional. We recognise that staff are probably difficult to find in a place like Kalgoorlie, but all staff should be trained to at least smile and be friendly and polite.
We weren’t expecting too much as far as the food goes, but certainly wanted it to be a lot better than it was for the prices charged.
If your cooks aren’t capable of achieving crackle on pork, leave roasted pork belly off the menu. The Chicken Supreme should definitely be removed as the chicken offering, it was almost completely devoid of flavour and the sauce wasn’t up to saving it.
Sorry guys, I don’t like giving poor reviews, but this was warranted considering the prices charged.

I called the restaurant first to check and was told we could bring her so long she didn't bark and obviously wasn't allowed on the seats. The food was unbelievably delicious. We booked a table for Sunday lunch. We were seated by the friendly staff and ordering our meals was an easy process. Our meals came out quickly. Spring rolls and cheesy garlic pizza was delicious. Our mains were a large serving. Chicken parmigiana, steak and American ribs. All meals were perfectly cooked and tasted amazing. Dessert was tiramisu and waffle cones. Really divine. No complaints at all . One of our friends is gluten free , early days for the restaurant so hope the menu will add gluten free options . The tiling in the bathrooms is unique and looks really good . The air-con and large seating area drew me in for late lunch. Informed friendly staff with table service. Simple yet varied menu with daily specials and ample drink selections. Everything was fresh, delicious and on point. I had steak sandwich it smelt and tasted great but a little heavy on the condiments. The restaurant manager, Carrie (apologies if incorrect), was amazing.
I have a couple of broken toes, the weather was atrocious (resulting in foot paths flooding) and have had weight-loss surgery so can't eat full/main meals.
She was friendly, polite, understood the weather, understood my dietary restrictions and was accommodating of my health/physical needs.
Dinner was served hot, promptly and was better than discussed/imagined. The wait/delivery-lady was also friendly, presented well and accommodating, bringing it inside to my table and letting me know if I needed anything to just call.
The food was delicious and much better than I thought I would be able to order.
While the room service menu mentioned nothing about drinks being available, after my discussion with Carrie, the perfect bottle of red was also able to be ordered/included. The bonus delicious sweet treats were exactly what the doctor ordered with a "broken foot" and awful weather.
Carrie was respectful of her staffs wellbeing as well, discussing with me timing of my meal vs. safety of delivery and the reality of weather. Yet my meal arrived safely and not even 15minutes after being ordered.
Thank you to Carrie and her team.
I will 100% be ordering again, hopefully - in future, from inside the restaurant to relay my thanks properly.

If this was a single occurrence all would be forgiven, however, this review is a result of multiple bad experiences paying a premium for food that is cold, chewy and flavourless. Please fix!! The Chefs are talented. I had the Chicken Parmigiana tonight, and the vinegarette dressing in the salad was amazing.
The Parmigiana; I normally have to order extra cheese...but not tonight.

While visiting Kalgoorlie we stumbled upon this great brewery. We ordered the chicken wings with buffalo sauce and the cauli bites. Both were delicious and I was thankful for the packet of face wipes on the table as the wings were covered in great sauce. The staff did warn me 😁. I had a pint of their 3.3% Hazy Beer which was terrific.

Lunch was placed with a very unenthusiastic and visibly annoyed teller, she didnt make eye contact, didnt smile and was not helpful.
The food came after a long wait and after those who placed their orders after us. The kids platter plate was saturated in oil, the dino nuggies was so oily it was dripping from the nugget when squized. I had a chai latte and it just tasted like warmed milk and no spice. Very disappointing and wont be returning in the near future.
Thai salad was average, the fried noodles on top were so hard i was worried i would crack a tooth.

I found about this restaurant from word of mouth. On the outside it just looks like a standard Aussie pub, but on the inside is a team of the friendliest, loveliest Thai ladies. The menu is authentic traditional Thai food and the prices are very good for what you get. I’m half Thai and this food reminds me of the food I had growing up. I never thought I would find some of the best Thai food in Kalgoorlie in the Gala Tavern of all places, but this place exceeds all expectations. Most underrated restaurant in Kalgoorlie. Such a hidden gem. Every person I’ve brought here had no clue it existed and I think this place does not get the recognition it deserves. If you are looking for somewhere new to eat in Kalgoorlie, go here - you can not go wrong. I highly recommend the deep fried pork belly, the chicken wings, the sticky rice, the Panang curry, the Massaman curry, the Tom Yum, and the Tom Kha. 10/10 food and customer service.

The staff inside the Gold Bar are always friendly and fast with their service to patrons. Maybe a little too much entertainment going on at once, creating some sort of promotion or happy hour times would be a positive to bring more crowds in quicker. And also a Sunday Session with a band on Sundays say from 5/6pm - 9pm. Would be Awesome too. A good time out and not to late with leaving. Overall, Always have a blast.

Once Kalgoorlie nursing homes have been renovated with new materials to replace Old with New, Southern Cross Hospital then Merriden, would be a worthy consideration for external funding. There are a huge amount of both country & rural outlets that are in need of renovations, if funding could be raised Australia-Wide, Imagine the impact and building standards we could project to the World. Do you remember Steve Sutton's dream of building a #CancerFund #TCT ? My dream is to better safeguard and protect the Frail & aged, independent of the Malcolm Turnbull Portfolio.
