The Monolithic Church of Saint-Emilion is an underground church carved from limestone, with a towering 68-meter bell tower. It dates back to the 12th century and is said to be made from a single stone. The majority of the church is located underground, and visitors can explore it on official tours organized by the Office of Tourism. The village was named after Emilion, an 8th-century hermit who established a religious community there.
Beautiful and well preserved. Love all the history and still the roman wall. Built on eachother. Love the streets and the wine.

Amazing history and architecture! This little town was established around 800AD. Every road is cobblestone so wear flat shoes with good grip. Try to see everything in this area. This is one of the oldest wine growing regions in the world.
Jamie J — Google review
This is an absolutely wonderful piece of medieval architecture, and a real glimpse into the life of a hermit and his followers. The tour is wonderful and takes you on a journey from the small cave in which St Emilion to the mic. Church carved out of the rock by his followers and the devout. No photographs are allowed, but they’re plenty online. This is a fantastic tour and a must if you are going to st Emilion

Best thing to do/see in town + not a rip off (unlike most things in saint emilion) You get given a key from the information desk and sent on your way. They only let a few people in at a time (around 6) so it’s not crowded at all! Make sure to go up the tower when you’re visiting!
Hattie C — Google review
I recommend getting the guided tour, it is worthwhile if you are in Saint-Emilion. Guide is available in many languages and goes through 4 different sections. The underground part is quite the spectacle. The workers were helpful and very knowledgeable on the church.

Historical & landmark Church in Saint-Emilion This is a fantastic medieval building in the town center of St. Emilion. Beautiful architecture well worth your time to visit regardless of if you are religious or not. We really enjoyed visiting this village probably one of the nicest in this region, and this church is high on the little of amazing building you can see & visit.

A fascinating place but for someone a bit unsteady on their feet the paths and roads are made with pebbles and are very uneven.

French restaurant
Chai Pascal is a cozy kitchen with exposed-stone walls, offering classic dishes made with local ingredients. The menu features simple yet outstanding food and a great wine list at reasonable prices. The owner, Pascal, previously worked in a top Parisian wine shop before opening the restaurant in Bordeaux. The inviting ambiance makes it perfect for a romantic and relaxed dinner, where you can enjoy fresh oysters and traditional French dishes like Croque monsieur.
Good quality food in a pleasant sized room. Staff very attentive and polite. Good grades asp of English if needed. Had the set meal and was very pleased. Pork and Tagliatelle was fantastic. Well cooked food. Wine was good, as expected.
Neil R — Google review
Chai Pascal was so amazing! We enjoyed several of the lunch specials and were not disappointed. The service was the best during our entire week of many different restaurants and bistros in Saint Emilion. Definitely make a reservation so you don’t miss out of this fantastic dining experience.
Sandra R — Google review
The service is impeccable – attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. Our meal was a highlight, starting with the perfectly seared Foie Gras, rich and meltingly tender, a true taste of luxury. The Pan-Seared Duck Breast was equally impressive, cooked to perfection with a crispy skin and succulent, pink interior, complemented by a delicious sauce. Their wine list, as expected in this region, is extensive and well-curated, offering fantastic local selections. The staff were excellent at recommending pairings that elevated our meal.
Yecheng S — Google review
What a wonderful place for lunch. The staff were friendly, each dish was superb. The cafe gourmand deserves a poem by itself. Would certainly recommend that you stop here.
Ben W — Google review
Excellent lunch. We had the duck and the pressed lamb. The grand cru wine was delicious. The deserts were superb.
Kate B — Google review
Che Pascale is located in a convenient spot in the village, slightly away from the main center. The interior is tastefully decorated: small, closely spaced tables, yet the atmosphere remains pleasant and airy. The service is professional, but from the very start there is a noticeable push to order wine, aperitifs, and bottled water. Declining these suggestions is often met with a subtle sense of impatience from the staff. For starters, we had a tuna and salmon tartare — average in quality, modest in portion size, and rather simple in flavor. The meat, supposedly their signature dish and among the most expensive on the menu, was of only moderate quality: tough in parts, with sinew and chewy sections. The rare cooking was well executed, however. The bill was average for Saint-Émilion, so reasonable in that sense, but the overall experience did not make us feel truly welcome. A reservation is still recommended, given the large number of tourists — mostly American and Asian — who may be more receptive to the constant upselling of wine and aperitifs, even at lunchtime.

Fine dining restaurant
French restaurant
Logis de la Cadène, established in 1848, is one of the oldest hotel restaurants in Saint-Emilion. Situated in the medieval town's center, it offers an elegant interior and a charming garden. The restaurant was acquired by the Bouard de Laforest family in 2013 and received its first Michelin star in 2017. The setting features a blend of materials, including polished wood furniture and rare Chinese artifacts.
I find the negative reviews laughable. This is an outstanding restaurant, and I say this as someone who regularly goes to two- and three-star restaurants in Barcelona. We entered almost casually with our kids (3 and 6) while visiting St. Emilion, well aware of how challenging this could be for the staff; they surprised us with an impromptu menu for our children, and a waiter even brought colors and paper to entertain them. We tried the Market Menu with wine pairing (we didn't want to test our kids' patience with a three-hour course), and found the quality to be, simply put, sublime. Flavors were stark and recognizable (especially the mushroom entree), the wine a perfect match. Charming location and highly professional service. A star well deserved indeed.
Fabrizio F — Google review
We reserved the cave downstairs for the evening. It was a magical setting for my daughters birthday celebration. Alexandre was outstanding since our first email contact He spent the evening with us and did a phenomenal job of explaining what was being served and where it was from.. The restaurant created a wonderful menu for us which included wine pairing. After dinner was over we went further down into the cave and saw their wine collection. To all the staff thank you for a great evening. You made our daughter feel very special.
Jorge G — Google review
Perfect experience from start to finish! Friendly staff, beautiful patio and local fresh ingredients! If you have a wine tasting to go to, they will let you know which menus take what amount of time so you can enjoy your meal in a relaxed manner and also make your appointment. Highly recommend!
Emmy S — Google review
An unforgettable dining experience at Logis de la Cadène! Every dish was a masterpiece, full of creativity and flavor, with generous compliments from the chef. The wine list is incredible — as vast and rich as Tolstoy’s War & Peace! After dinner, we even had the chance to step into the kitchen and meet the chef Thibaut Gamba personally — such a special touch. Highly recommended for true food and wine lovers!
Natalia B — Google review
Our recent dining experience at the restaurant included a food tasting that was rated four stars. The service was exceptional, with detailed explanations provided for each dish. The initial four courses were particularly impressive, showcasing both excellent presentation and flavor. However, the two main courses were excessively salty, and the dessert was overly sweet, making it difficult to finish. Given the restaurant's Michelin rating, this was a disappointing outcome.
Toney S — Google review
We had high expectations for this restaurant in the historic centre of St Emilion, however we were disappointed. We were given a table Outdoors, as there was a large group inside which took all the tables. There was however a second, empty dining room, but we were told we couldn’t use it. Our table was too big for 6 people, it made it difficult to all talk to each other. It was super hot under the cheap seats pastiche sheet and there were some insects. No fan was available. The table had no tablecloth and the decor was awful, it certainly did not represent fine dining. The food was very hit and miss: for example the goat cheese and balsamic vinegar dessert was awful, nobody ate it. Definitely not worth the money. There are better restaurants in the area.
Gio G — Google review
We had high expectations for our dinner at Logis de la Cadène, given its Michelin star and reputation as one of the premier dining destinations in Saint-Émilion. The setting itself is lovely — a charming, historic building in the heart of the village, with a warm and elegant atmosphere that sets the stage beautifully. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not quite live up to what we had hoped for. The food was, frankly, just so-and-so. While the plating was beautiful and clearly crafted with care, the flavors and execution felt underwhelming and somewhat forgettable, especially when judged against the high standard you expect from a Michelin-starred kitchen. Nothing we tasted stood out as exceptional, and some dishes even felt flat in terms of seasoning and creativity. What really disappointed us, though, was the level of service. In a restaurant of this caliber, the service should be attentive, polished, and almost intuitive — making you feel cared for without being intrusive. Instead, it felt inconsistent and inattentive, with long waits between courses, staff who seemed rushed or distracted, and little of the warmth or finesse you expect from fine dining. This lack of attention to detail in the service really took away from the experience. On a positive note, the sommelier was excellent. He was knowledgeable, personable, and made thoughtful recommendations that complemented the meal well. His expertise and approach were a bright spot in an otherwise disappointing evening. All in all, the meal felt overpriced for what was delivered — both in terms of the food and the experience. A Michelin star carries a promise of excellence, and unfortunately, Logis de la Cadène fell short of that promise for us. With more care in the kitchen and, above all, much more attentive and polished service, it could truly shine. But as it is now, it feels more like you’re paying for the name and the setting rather than for a truly memorable dining experience.
Rachel T — Google review
Restaurant review. We had a wonderful experience at Logis de la Cadène. The food was absolutely delicious, we chose the Market Menu and were impressed by the balance, creativity, and flavors in every dish. Compliments to the chef for such a thoughtful and refined meal. A truly memorable dining experience!

Haute French restaurant
La Table de Pavie is a renowned restaurant located in the luxurious Hotel de Pavie in Saint Emilion. The hotel, a former convent with historical significance, offers a sanctuary for travelers and pilgrims. Yannick Alleno oversees the restaurant, which showcases finely tuned dishes reflecting the terroir of Southwest France. The menu features signature sauces and reductions by executive chef Alleno.
I visited here 5 years ago and had a perfect lunch. The staffs were all professional and the service was excellent. I think the chef changed a few years ago. However, I still can't forget the lobster dish and the St. Emilion wines. I plan to visit again to experience the new chef's cuisine with wine.
Alice K — Google review
I literally don't have the words to properly describe this experience. The precision of their service delivering dishes and refilling wine feels like a dance. The dining room is a work of art. The food is inspired and magnificent. I think a lot about taking aspects of our life and turning them into a work of art. The cuisine as La Table de Pavie is nothing short of a masterpiece. What an experience

Lunch at La Table de Pavie — An Exceptional Experience Our lunch at La Table de Pavie was truly unforgettable. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and invited to begin our experience on the terrace, where we enjoyed a drink and a selection of amuse-bouches while taking in a panoramic view of Saint-Émilion. With the clear blue sky, gentle sunlight, and a refreshing breeze, it was the perfect start. After this lovely moment, we were guided to our table inside to begin the Esprit de Pavie set menu: • Steamed omelette served with Prunier caviar and two sauces • Koji-Zoto cooked in Graves wine, with mature Mimolette and cockles • Duplantier duck with orange sugar turnip, black grapefruit, and Bordelaise liver toast • Gently roasted apple with Espelette pepper, apple sabayon, and caramelized rye bread Wine pairing: • White: Château Latour Martillac Blanc, Pessac-Léognan 2022 • Red: Château Fleur Cardinale 2016 Each dish was thoughtfully crafted, showcasing refined flavors, seasonal ingredients, and a high level of culinary precision. The service was equally impressive—highly professional, well-trained, and gracefully attentive throughout. After dessert and a delightful petit four, we were invited back to the terrace for a fresh herbal tea, beautifully concluding both our lunch and our visit to Saint-Émilion. It was the perfect finale to our wine journey in Bordeaux.
Taz T — Google review
Have only been to one other two Michelin star restaurant and I have to say this one was better. If not purely for the vegetable dish which was all of our favourites. The caviar egg dish and the second pigeon dish was superb. The other were on par and great quality. The only experience I did not love was the towel over my head, not mu thing as I like to eat at my own pace, but the pigeon itself was interesting. The sommeliers were excellent 👌 the wine suggestions were phenomenal and on fact I found my new favourite red. As we were warned, don't eat too much bread because the portions per plate are fairly big so it's a struggle to get through. But of course no food for me anyway was left. Really special restaurant with beautiful decor and a happy bunch of employees so highly recommend.
Same O — Google review
We had lunch at La Table de Pavie at St Emilion in May 2025. It was probably one of the highlights of our entire trip to 10 countries. From the time we enjoyed our aperitifs in the courtyard overlooking the amazing city to the immaculate service inside the restaurant. We would highly recommend this experience if you are looking for a white glove haute French cuisine in the area. We also visited a few other Michelin starred restaurants in the area, but the entire experience at Pavie is one of the kind. At a price, of course. The reason for the 4/5 stars for the food was because we found 1 of the courses very salty, but perhaps our palate was not used to it. It was bar none the most romantic meal we had for our one month trip. The staff was very knowledgeable and converse fluently in English. The entire meal took a good 3 hours, ended with desert and coffee at the courtyard to enjoy the views. Highly recommended.
Carl W — Google review
We had dinner at le Table de Pavie. Phenomenal food and experience, especially the courses that tell a story of local culture. The tasting menu can go quite late (ours took more than 5 hours) and sometimes we felt they had forgotten us, but perhaps that’s because we are not night owls! All in all, the portions were generous, even when it came to delicacies like caviar, and the menu was quite well thought out. You can also request a shorter menu so it doesn’t take as long, which is what I did for my second visit.
Emmy S — Google review
It was a last minute discovery as we randomly visited Saint-Emillion on our way back home. We were extremely lucky that one table in the restaurant had been cancelled the night before so we could enjoy dinner here. And it was absolutely amazing, what an experience! Very attentfull staff, but a special thanks to Glenn and Daphne who explained us the menu and the pairing wines in our native language. Made it even more special. We'll definitely come back!

This restaurant offers a beautiful setting right in the vineyard with stunning views that really enhance the dining experience. Overall, a wonderful spot to visit, especially for the atmosphere and service.

The scenery, watching the sunset was amazing. The whole vibe of the restaurant was phenomenal. The food and drinks were the best in the region as well. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Wish we had more nights in St. Emillion to go back again and again.

We have been coming to the Terrace for many years and love the location, food and choice of fine wines including their own Chateau, Chateau Dominique. However, on this occasion we arrived 1.15pm, placed our order and then waited an hour for our main course even though we enquired its whereabouts and arrived at 2.30pm. Then it was too late for dessert so we left. Very disappointing.

Located in the heart of Saint-Emilion, L'Envers du Décor is an upscale wine bar and bistro that has been serving regional French dishes made with locally sourced produce since 1987. The restaurant offers a tranquil courtyard for outdoor dining, where guests can enjoy dishes like suprême de volaille and tartare de boeuf tranche au couteau at affordable prices.
This was an amazing restaurant with such a great vibe and service. The quality of the ingredients as well as the menu is great. The restaurant is owned by the same property of the hotel and just a few meters apart. The location is great you need to make a reservation. Amazing list of wines. I totally recommend the grand marnier soufflé.

In July, during a family road trip through Europe, we returned to Saint-Émilion — a place we love. Tired from the journey and not in the mood to search for something new, we decided to go back to a restaurant we had visited a few years earlier. And honestly, it was the best decision we could’ve made. We spent a beautiful evening there — the setting was stunning, the atmosphere warm and welcoming, and the food… absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. Each of us ordered something different, and everyone was thrilled with their choice. A truly memorable experience — I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone visiting the region.

L’Envers du Décor is simply excellent — a restaurant that captures the spirit of Saint-Émilion with style and warmth. The atmosphere is lively yet elegant, with a beautiful setting that makes you feel instantly welcome. The food is outstanding: fresh, seasonal ingredients prepared with creativity and respect for tradition. Each dish arrives perfectly presented, full of flavor and balance. The wine list is exceptional, highlighting local treasures alongside great classics. Service is attentive without being intrusive, adding to the overall charm. A must-visit when in Saint-Émilion.

Delicious French cuisine in a beautifully decorated restaurant. The atmosphere was wonderful and clean! However I do find the food more expensive but still enjoyable. Service was quick and friendly.
Dannie A — Google review
This was recommended by our Chateau tour guide for a lunch spot. Great tour guide but question if there is some motivation to push this particular restaurant. It felt like a high end tourist trap. The food was fine overall but not worthy of the pricing and certainly not paired with the less than friendly service (this has been the only restaurant that I’ve found the service to be off-putting in the Bordeaux region mind you). We ordered the fish of the day which was a sea bass and the tomato tarte. Again, the food was fine, but I’d probably spend your money on a take away sandwich somewhere and sit down at another spot for some nice wine.
Robert M — Google review
L’Envers du Décor opened in 1987 and changed Saint-Émilion dining. It was the first to serve Grand Crus by the glass with relaxed, market-led cooking, breaking from château formality. The tiled floors and bottle-lined walls still hold that spirit of conversation. A red pepper and goat’s cheese soup came vivid and balanced, peppers roasted into a smooth purée, the cheese melting into creamy acidity. Lamb shoulder for two followed, richly braised on the bone with chickpeas, spiced couscous and vegetables, topped with a coarse harissa-style relish mild enough to keep step with Bordeaux. Dessert was a Grand Marnier soufflé, golden, feather-light, collapsing under the spoon with citrus warmth — the culinary highlight. The hosting and service was immaculate.
Loo Y — Google review
Went here for lunch during a wine tour from Bordeaux and this place was recommended by our guide Mathis! It was incroyable! We had the lamb dish for two and oysters. First off, the oysters are so meaty and delicious. We live at the beach in New Jersey and these oysters surprised us by being SO much better!!! The lamb was was tender and mouthwatering!!! The only downside was it was too big for us to finish so unfortunately we had to leave it behind. It came with couscous and cooked carrots which were both so good. We paired this with Bordeaux red wine and it was all amazing. We only had to cancel our cheese plate because we were stuffed by the end, but we wish we had tried it.

Château Villemaurine is a historic winery that offers guided tours of its vineyards and underground tunnels, providing visitors with an immersive experience. The tour includes a walk through the troglodyte caves led by a knowledgeable guide, shedding light on the geological significance of the limestone soil and the centuries-old wine-making traditions. Situated in medieval St. Emilion, Château Villemaurine also offers wine tastings, allowing guests to sample two of its renowned red wines.
Chateau Villemaurine was our final stop in Saint-Emilion, and it’s a great option if you're short on time. The estate boasts about 70 kilometers of the 200 kilometers of tunnels in Saint-Emilion, and our tour with the wonderful Anastasia took us deep into these historic caves. Anastasia was an excellent guide, accommodating our early arrival, which was completely unnecessary on her part, but much appreciated. After touring the caves and facilities, we tasted their wines. Both the Grand Cru Classe and the Grand Cru from Villemaurine were excellent! The wines, from 2020 and 2021, were still young, with vibrant fruit flavors that practically jumped out of the glass. Our favorite wine, however, came from a sister winery owned by the same family—Chateau Sansonnet. After asking a few questions about our wine preferences, Anastasia recommended the Sansonnet Grand Cru Classe. She was spot on! It was the best sip of wine we had in Saint-Emilion, and that’s saying a lot given the quality of wine everywhere we went. Chateau Villemaurine is a perfect place to end your day, as it’s located just at the top of the picturesque village of Saint-Emilion. I highly recommend including it in your itinerary. If you're pressed for time, it offers a fantastic Right Bank experience without leaving the town. No matter what your priorities are, make sure to visit Villemaurine when in Saint-Emilion—you won’t be disappointed.

Great place to learn about Saint-Emilion wines and traditions. You can see both the vineyard above the limestone caves below. The wine was sensational. We bought a bottle.
Mara D — Google review
This was a spectacular tour and well worth the minimal entry fee. They take you over most of the grounds. Thought the vineyard fields, inside to witness the process, and underground to the limestone caves which were quite mesmerizing. Topped off at the end with a couple of tastings of some of their finest red wines. The gift shop has a few bottles as well. You can buy what you tasted there. The place is apparently under renovation to become a hotel/ B&B, but I couldn’t tell. Everything was quite beautiful to me. Would recommend for a really nice vineyard tour that is also close to the town center.

It's a beautiful château which is directly located in Saint-Emilion. We did a heritage tour with a focus on history of Saint-Emilion and Villemaurine, very interesting to see the tunnel system under the vineyards. At the end of the tour we tasted 2 wines. We highly recommend it if you are on a day trip to Saint-Emilion.

Great tour with some tasty wines at the end. Our kids loved it. Andrea was a great guide.

We've done a vine to wine tour at this chateau with Stacy, who was very knowledgeable and friendly. The tour starts in the vineyard, followed by the production process, the underground cellar and finally tasting of 2 red wines. The underground cellars are perfectly maintained. All in all highly recommended

We did a tour and wine tasting, it was interesting to know and to see the quarries, where oak barrels are stored. Beautiful place, full of history, and with a staff that transmitted a qualified information about all process of producing wine.

Great tour and tasting! It was very neat to see how they use the old underground limestone quarry. If you are visiting Saint Emilion you should consider this experience. It is located at the top of the town so it is very easy to get to on foot. You can book the tour online and check-in at the little building.

Château Troplong Mondot is situated at the very top of the plateau in Saint-Emilion, offering a privileged location with excellent drainage. If you find yourself lost in the countryside, just look for the water tower and you'll spot this remarkable vineyard. Alongside other renowned wineries like Cheval-Blanc and Ausone, Troplong Mondot produces high-quality wine thanks to its prime position on the upper plateau.
Gorgeous view and the restaurant has a beautiful position to take advantage of the view. Haven't eaten there yet,but will soon. Sustainable cuisine and one Michelin star. Staff was friendly and the architecture is very stylish.

Absolutely lovely Chateau with beautiful rooms, grounds, restaurant and a lovely swimming pool. The rooms have a view of the village Saint Emilion. The discovery tour took us to their fermentation rooms which looked very modern and pretty breathtaking in design. The wine was fantastic. Claire arranged a lovely picnic basket for us; we picnicked in the garden and it will be one of our most memorable evenings ever.

I went on 2 visits one week apart. The first was the 90 minute tour which was informative and delightful. Beautiful views, delicious wines and great hospitality. This wine is great and getting better. The second visit was even more special. They offer a few (appx 20-25) spots per year mostly in June and July where they take you in an antique land rover to a secret spot on their land. They host a wine tasting, where at the end you can either choose your favorite bottle to keep for lunch, or each person can choose a different wine and drink a generous glass of wine. You eat a picnic lunch prepared by their Michelin star chef, looking over an incredible valley, with no cars or people in sight. Incredible!

This is a vineyard. We did a tour and tasting, we did not stay there. The tour was very interesting and our guide was informational and very nice. The tasting was delicious. We bought a bottle and some chocolate made by the chef. They have a chef's garden for the restaurant. Very sustainably minded. Beautiful surroundings.

Hard to judge vs other options in St Emilion but we were super happy with our experience. Beautiful rooms and house although a huge facility. A bit further away from the town so less flow of traffic. We had a great time exploring, using the e bikes and relaxing by the pool. Glad we stayed away from BOD and would definitely come back
Alex R — Google review
Our stay at Troplong Mondot was excellent. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by luxury and warm hospitality. The rooms are beautifully designed—spacious, elegant, and full of character. The team was incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile and genuine care. The breakfast was outstanding: fresh, generous, and offering plenty of variety. We also had the pleasure of dining at the restaurant (Michelin star) which was excellent. While no fixed wine pairings were offered, the sommelier gave excellent advice, and wines were also available by the glass. During your stay, you can order Troplong’s exquisite wines, along with a cheese board or tapas platter. These can be enjoyed in your room, on your terrace, or in one of the elegant shared spaces. Throughout the day, coffee, tea, and fruit juices are freely available and included in the stay. The picnic and tea time experiences are also highly recommended—they're a wonderful way to enjoy the peaceful setting and excellent local products. Beautifully set among the vineyards, it offers stunning views and a true sense of calm. The center of Saint-Émilion is about a 20-minute walk away. It’s a lovely route through the countryside, though do keep in mind that it includes some uphill and downhill stretches. If the main house isn’t rented, guests can also enjoy the beautiful swimming pool, which adds an extra touch of relaxation to the experience. A memorable experience we would love to repeat.

Château Guadet is a family-owned estate located just outside of Bordeaux, making it a convenient stop for those on a day trip. The estate has been in the same family for seven generations and is closely linked to the renowned Petrus wine estate. Visitors can enjoy a guided tour by Monsieur Vincent, who passionately shares the family's winemaking history and environmentally sustainable practices.
The BEST experience in Bordeaux. The tour was just fabulous and I could not recommend more. The hosts were so lovely and the small groups really made the experience special and intimate. I was not very clued up about the nuances of vintage wines before the tour and came away having had a good laugh with our guide, knowing a lot more and having tasted some great bottles. This is a must do in Saint-Emilion. Thank you for such a lovely experience.
Thea H — Google review
The tour was a great experience. We enjoyed learning about the history of Guy Petrus (yes, that Petrus!) and exploring the underground cellar, which was magnificent. The oldest bottle we saw was over 60 years old. However, we didn’t enjoy the wine tasting as much. The portions were very small, and there was too much focus on marketing and technical details. We would have appreciated it more if he had explained the wine itself rather than constantly comparing it to other great wines. It would have also been helpful to have water available. As for the wine, it wasn’t particularly impressive—we weren’t sure if it was even ready to drink. That said, the overall experience was great.
Taka H — Google review
Our visit to Château Guadet was one of the most memorable and meaningful wine experiences we've ever had. Touring the property with Guy Petrus himself was a true privilege—his knowledge, passion, and presence elevated the experience in a way that’s hard to put into words. You can feel the weight of history here, and Guy brings it to life with intelligence, humility, and authenticity. The underground cellar was absolutely stunning. Stepping down into that space felt like entering a time capsule, with layers of history built into the limestone walls. It’s the kind of setting that reminds you wine isn’t just about taste—it’s about time, place, and story. As for the wine: we loved it. It was elegant, complex, and full of character. We brought two bottles home to Canada and look forward to opening them on future special occasions. The tasting was thoughtful and unhurried, without the gloss or hard-sell you sometimes find at the newer, flashier wineries nearby. If you're looking for something real—something that sticks with you long after you've left—Château Guadet is it. Don’t miss it.

This was one of the best visits we had while exploring St Emillion!! Vincent is an incredible host, with a true passion for his craft, and along with the intimacy of a family run production, creates a wonderful atmosphere for your visit. The cellar is amazing to see, with the history represented there, and finally, the wine is excellent! My wife & I were so happy we discovered this place, and will definitely be back
Stephen S — Google review
You don't get a more French experience than this. Our guide was absolutely hilarious, and knowledgeable. It was a one of a kind experience to view the wine cellar, but not one for the faint hearted. The stairs down was steep, and the cellar very low ceilings. Spooky and majestic at the same time.
Amanda — Google review
The host was kind but the rest of the experience didn't live up to our expectations. The wine tasting part was more a sales pitch from the host and we didn't focus on tasting aspects of the wines. The walk through the private cellar was interesting. Also, at the end the payment had to be made in cash and no cards were accepted (although the POS terminal was on the table).

Château Soutard is a historic estate located near the medieval village of Saint-Emilion in Bordeaux. It boasts a grand mansion surrounded by vineyards and offers a warm welcome to visitors. The chateau provides wine tastings, on-site bicycle rentals for exploring the vineyards, and various wine tourism activities. With its impressive setting and inviting atmosphere, Château Soutard is an ideal place to enjoy a glass of wine while taking in the picturesque surroundings.

Wonderful private tour with the lovely Sophie who was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the château, the renovations and the wine making process. The chateau itself is incredibly impressive and has been beautifully renovated. At the end of the tour there’s a tasting of three wines, and also an outdoor space to buy a bottle and take in the view. For those that are super organised, the chateau has three hotel rooms guests can stay in but I suspect these are very popular. Thank you again for an incredible experience!

Had a fantastic tour at Château Soutard this Sunday with my wife. Our guide, Pushkaraj, was both funny and incredibly knowledgeable he made the whole experience engaging, informative, and fun. The property is beautiful, the wines are excellent, and the tour was well-paced and enjoyable. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in the Saint-Émilion area!

Very overpriced for what you get. €40/head for the tour/tasting and you end up tasting three bottles priced at €50/€50/€60. For the four of us we could have paid the same and just bought the bottles. Your was ok - but all vineyard tours are the same. Vines -> fermentation -> barrels.

Worse visit Not a real tasting The visit bashima was very low quality wasn’t really interested with the customers. It’s all making money The worse part was the tasting : We tasted a wine - not good from a different winery of the group?. Than we tasted the wine of chateau from 2016 it was a dirty! Wine full of leftover from the base of bottle the colour was almost brown and smell and taste bad We didn’t drink the wine and asked for another. We where refused The arrogant guide didn’t replace it There are many wineries. Don’t go there I have written to them with no reply. Maybe they don’t care

The Macarons de Saint-Émilion, with a history dating back to 1620 when the Ursuline nuns established their convent in Saint-Émilion, are a delightful treat not to be missed. The original recipe is still used by Fabrique de Macarons, creating intense competition among the half dozen macaron stores in the area. The historic shop established in 1612 offers an immersive experience into centuries-old tradition and exceptional macaron crafting.
Loved! Loved! Loved these macarons and wish we purchased more to take back with us! We got the original ones plus the chocolate ones and favored the original ones most!

If you’re in Saint-Émilion, don’t miss the chance to try the véritables macarons from Nadia Fermigier — they’re a true local gem! Made using the original 1620 recipe from the religious sisters of the town, these macarons are nothing like the colourful ones you find elsewhere. They’re soft, chewy, and packed with almond flavour — simple, authentic, and absolutely delicious. The shop itself has a lovely old-fashioned charm, and the staff are warm and welcoming. A perfect edible souvenir from Saint-Émilion!

Nestled in the charming medieval village of Saint-Emilion, the Porte de la Cadène stands as a testament to the region's rich history and architectural beauty. This stunning wooden door, dating back to the 15th century, is one of the last remnants of traditional half-timbering alongside its companion, Maison de la Cadène. While its facade hails from the 16th century, its foundations whisper tales even older.

A wonderful tour of a historic if little-known chateau in the heart of Saint Emilion. Do note that this is a working chateau, so the staff can be very busy. That said, Noemie, Aurelia, and Manon in the boutique next door (called Maison Douze) will assist you when they can. Couvent is currently (as of Sept 2025) selling some of their library wines from the 1970s, so worth checking them out. Otherwise the Couvents from 2015 and 16 are beautiful, and their limited edition Calicem (an all Merlot wine) are stunning, especially the 2018s and 2020s. Worth a bottle or two!

A visit to the Couvent des Jacobins estate in Saint-Émilion with our family is an unparalleled experience. The tradition and expertise passed down through generations are evident in every aspect of their wine-making process. The underground cellar, where some of their bottling and wine storage including all their back vintage storage take place was indeed another highlight , it was and experience where you feel the testament to their dedication and respect for the craft. Our wine tasting tour, followed by a unique dinner, was truly memorable. Each wine we sampled showcased the estate's commitment to quality and tradition. I highly recommend visiting them if you are in the area to witness firsthand their remarkable wine-making process and rich cultural heritage.

One-of-a-Kind Experience! We visited Couvent des Jacobins in June, and let me tell you, it was nothing short of extraordinary! As wine lovers, my husband and I were thrilled to discover one of the best wineries and chateaus we've ever experienced. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was unparalleled; we felt so welcomed and valued! Learning about the incredible process behind these amazing wines truly deepened our appreciation for them. The picturesque setting at the heart of St. Emilion added to the magic of our visit. It’s an experience that definitely ticks off a bucket list item for us! We left with smiles on our faces and a promise to return. If you’re in Bordeaux, don’t miss out on this gem! Nice experience and good wine. Small family owned winery producing 36,000 bottles a year. The estate is mysterious because it dates to the 13th century. The liquor store Les Cordeliers offers a wide variety of wines including local sparkling wine Crémant de Bordeaux. The quaint garden setting is perfect for relaxing while enjoying your drink. Inside the walls of Saint-Émilion, Les Cordeliers has been producing sparkling wine for over 100 years.
What a great place to have a picnic. We had a fantastic experience sitting in the garden terrace splitting a bottle of their best bubbly.

Beautiful setting, but the experience doesn’t quite live up to the price We visited Cloître des Cordeliers in Saint-Émilion with high hopes, but overall the experience was a bit underwhelming. The tuk-tuk tour felt quite overpriced — €30 per adult and €25 per child — especially considering that you don’t actually enter any vineyards, just see them from the road. The guide provided only very basic information, both during the ride and at the short wine tasting afterwards. That said, the cloister garden itself is lovely — peaceful and well maintained — and the outdoor café is a nice spot to relax. You can pick up some simple food like pâté, bread, and a glass or a bottle of wine, which we enjoyed, although the service was quite slow and we didn’t exactly feel welcomed as customers. The gift shop was a bit confusing, with a mix of toys and random non-wine-related items, which didn’t really fit the setting. In short, it’s a pretty place to visit, but the overall experience felt a bit disjointed and overpriced for what you get.
Irina B — Google review
Here’s the deal. There is coffee stand just inside the gate, and they may be the only place in town with vegan food. They have a large selection of “spreads” which they sell in small glass jars for a picnic there or to go. Not the best value but certainly homemade and tasty and plant based. They were open on Sunday afternoon when we visited.

An unforgettable experience at the Cloître des Cordeliers! The tour was absolutely fantastic, led by the brilliant Ophélie, a truly charming and passionate guide who’s a superb ambassador for Saint-Émilion. She brought the history and stories of the cloister to life with such enthusiasm and warmth. The tuk-tuk vineyard tour was a real highlight, informative, fun, and a great way to get a sense of the scale and beauty of the surrounding wine country. The visit to the labyrinthine underground caves was equally impressive, and the wine tasting at the end was a perfect way to round off the experience. Highly recommended! A must-do in Saint-Émilion!

Château Croizille is located in the Saint-Emilion appellation and offers one of the most stunning views from its terrace wine bar. It is home to the only terraced vineyards in Bordeaux, making it a unique destination for wine enthusiasts. Visitors can explore both Château Croizille and Tour Baladoz, experiencing a blend of traditional and modern winemaking.
Let me start by saying marvellous tour and highly recommended. Location: 9/10 the winery/winyard can be easily located on map and easy to drive to if you are by car. Staff: 10/10-very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They have keen eye for details, walk you through each and every step of wine making along with history in amazing detail. Experience: 10/10, it’s a curated experience and you’ll come out learning something new despite you think “i know alot about wine”. There is remarkable difference between visiting an actual vineyard vs visiting something commercial which is just sake of experience. Here, you visit and feel every step of the process, they walk you though every step, from impact of soil, pesticides, climate on the grapes to how all this actually translates to the taste of wine you drink so casually. It’s a very fine combination of art and science..no wonder French people are so attached to it. They have two state of art process (traditional with all the barrel fermentation & modern with machines) and you can visit both. The dégustations(wine tasting) is a very fine experience here, you get to taste their flagship grand cru wines to the newly crafted (and none less than the authentic Provence ones) JM Rose. At the end of tour, you have a shop where you can buy their wines and souvenirs. I ended up buying lot of their Rose (which is a shame because they have finer products in red wine like grand cru and grand cru classic)but « heart wants what it wants » I loved their collection and highly recommend it to all those who want to have an authentic wine tasting experience and learn a thing or two about how your favourite drink is made.

Beautiful winery and experience with our guide Quentin in an English speaking tour. He is passionate and well conversant in answering all questions raised. Quentin also gave good recommendations on wine and food choices available on the establishment. Overall a great experience and no regret for staying back for lunch to enjoy the magnificent view, tasty food and drinks. Location: 5min uber ride from Saint Emilion village.

Really informative visit and tour guide was obviously passionate about the subject. You get to see the traditional and more modern approach to wine making. Went with three loads of varying ages and they also enjoyed. One of the few vineyards that we found that welcomed children. With a visit. Oh and the wine is great also!! 😀

We did a tour around the chateau, it was very interessting and the guide was very nice, if you don‘t have a car, it‘s a bit difficult to get there, but when the wheater is good, you can enjoy an 45 min walk from st emilion through the wine fields.

Château Croizille was such an amazing experience, it was a beautiful day and nice walk around, after our tour we had the wine tasting on a balcony facing the vineyard. You can really enjoy a nice view, good wine with someone you care! What else do you need? Would definitely recommend. Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé👌🏽 pick a good wine and let me know what you think!

Château Coutet is a historic vineyard with a 400-year legacy, run by the multigenerational David-Beaulieu family. Situated just a short walk from Saint-Emilion, this elegant chateau offers guided tours led by the family members themselves, providing an intimate and welcoming experience for visitors. The estate's commitment to organic practices sets it apart, as it has never used herbicides or pesticides in its long history.
A brilliant tour conducted by Agnes. Her passion and knowledge really made the day. Coutet is a beautifully peaceful place with an enormously interesting history and Agnes really helped us learn so much about the grape growing and wine making process. A super visit thanks

Château Coutet was fabulous experience! A very conscientious, passionate farming family using organic practices. Agnes was a delight! I learned so much. Such a peaceful place. Thank you for a lovely visit!
Monica N — Google review
Chateau Coutet was our second stop in Saint-Emilion, and it did not disappoint. Our guide, Agnes (please forgive me if I’ve misspelled her name), was warm and knowledgeable, with a genuine passion for wine that was immediately apparent. Her global experience in the wine industry has given her a unique perspective on winemaking, which she eagerly shared with us during the tour. As Agnes explained, Chateau Coutet is deeply committed to organic and natural winemaking. The estate strives for ecological balance in every aspect of its production. For example, they plant trees to protect against insects and birds, and they allow their fields to remain wild with minimal soil disturbance, only turning the soil when absolutely necessary. One interesting fact about Chateau Coutet is that they own the oldest bottle of wine in Bordeaux. Discovered buried on the property, it features a glass cork that is hermetically sealed, and although it may still be drinkable, the winery has vowed never to open it. However, they have recreated the bottle with a glass cap, and visitors can purchase this replica at the winery. Now, I know some of you might be skeptical about “natural” or “organic” wines, worrying they might be prone to spoilage or other issues. While the risk of spoilage can increase with more natural methods, I’m happy to say that Chateau Coutet manages these risks exceptionally well. Their wines were fantastic—fruit-forward with a subtle touch of oak. Our favorite was the Les Demoiselles, which is made entirely without electricity. If you're in Saint-Emilion, Chateau Coutet is a must-visit. It's a wonderful introduction to a family-run winery that treats its terroir with deep respect and reverence. This boutique winery is definitely worth the stop!

We had a wonderful experience visiting Coutet! Our guide was very knowledgable, engaging, and truly passionate. We have been on many wine tours/tastings before but this is one that will stay with us. We would highly recommend. The walk from Saint Emilion to the vineyard through other vineyards is an added bonus!
Natasha O — Google review
Lovely château! We went on a guided tour by Agnès, and she explained the whole process so very clearly, even the wine tasting at the end was better explained than it was in an introductory course I have taken before. The family history is very impressive as well, and the story about the old bottle being the heart of the home is very romantic. Would certainly recommend to go here.

This was such a great experience! Agnes is a lovely person who showed us the beautiful place and could tell us about the history a their great way of making wine. Organic, beautiful wine and great people!

You can find a good deal there as they have a range of local wines available. It's a place to buy a bottle under 25€, for more extensive ones better look from a Château itself

Natalia P — Google review
The cheapest wine of the city, it was recommended by the two different people from the city. They suggested good wines with good price. Best place to buy the wines, because is the place where they receive the wines direct from the Chateaux and they don`t put high margins on top as the other shops do (at least it was what I heard). I bought great wines for 10 and 16 euros
Maria M — Google review
They sell wine, it is a well-stocked and well-made shop, standard prices, there is nothing else to report. There is no possibility to taste glasses (by paying I mean), there is no possibility of having some kind of food to accompany, there is no possibility to sit down. It is a local wine boutique. You can taste wines somehow, but I prefer to pay and drink, then also buy if I like the wine. It is the problem of all the boutiques in the nice town .. then to drink some glasses of wine I had to go to the bar, very expensive by the way.

An early stop on the way from the railway station into town I don't think there is much open in Saint Emilion centre on an early January morning so chose this. It's on the walk in from the train station to the town centre. It doesn't appear to be a full service breakfast stop but is enough if you are prepared for that. Me and my wife both had a croissant (the best we had while in Bordeaux & St Emilion!) plus a coffee. It's self-service after you receive a nespresso capsule. Taking all that into account it does everything you expect and all at a reasonable price. If you want a sandwich, salad etc. there is plenty in the fridge. While we sat eating and drinking (there is a small area) we saw a good number of locals coming in for a wide selection of bread, salads, etc so assume that is a thumbs up too. Overall it did what we expected. If you are happy with all this beforehand your visit will be fine.
D F — Google review
We were disappointed with the pastries and the medieval practice of microwaving milk to add to your ( good Nespresso) coffee. When you're in St Emilion, we believe the standard and expectation is higher and should be as it's a fantastic place. There are so many bakeries in the area that have delicious artisan products, it's worth the drive to go elsewhere.

Slightly quirky eat-in boulangerie with sandwiches, rolls and very good quiches: here's a quiche, there's the microwave in which you can heat it; here's a coffee pod, there's the machine. Excellent quiche, though.

Château Cadet-Bon, owned by Guy Richard since 2001, is located on the outskirts of the village of Saint-Emilion. The property spans 7 hectares, with 6 contiguous hectares on the southern slope of the hill and the limestone plateau of the medieval city. The vineyards primarily consist of Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%), with an average age of 40 years.
This place is a hidden gem! Nothing like the bigger vineyards, Cadet-Bon offers something a bit more unique and intimate than the rest. Our host was super informative and very witty (thanks Vince) however talked us through some of the history and the process they go through to create some superbly tasting wine. Highly recommended if you are looking to get your tastebuds tantalised

We visited as part of a tour and the wines were very good. Tasting pours were a little small but understandable. The gentleman who took us through the tasting was lovely and grew up in the US so he spoke English very well. Unfortunately they did not ship to Aus (but that is also fair!)

Treated to a five star tour of the vineyard and cellar by the head winemaker himself. Really intricate explanation of the harvest, wine making process and year round maintenance of the vines and the vineyard. The tour was around an hour and a half with a tasting of 4 different wines at the end. This Château is a little different than others in the area as the wine can only be bought from the Château directly and is mostly sold locally.
Doug N — Google review
Great tour from our host Eva. We got to try some great wines (plus one from 2001) and to see the concrete vat approach to wine making. Best of luck with this year, hope you hit your 50k bottle target!
Louis B — Google review
We enjoyed the walk to and from Château Cadet Bon just minutes from the beautiful and historic town of Saint-Émilion. Our tour and wine tasting guide was very well informed and shared wonderful insights about the grapes grown in the region, as well as the blends used by the various Châteaus to create the wines that make the Bordeaux region so renowned worldwide. Be sure to book your wine tour(s) online ahead of time - walking up to a Château's gate expecting service and a tour won't get you far. If walking is not your thing, ride sharing services like Uber are available locally - just keep in mind you may have to walk a couple of blocks to meet your driver since many roads in town are so narrow and predominantly for residents or pedestrians.

Had the best meal after walking from the train station and all around the town. Pizza was fresh, substantial and delicious. I am still thinking about the passion-pineapple iced tea (The Glacé), wishing I had the recipe- one of the most flavorful and refreshing beverages I’ve ever had in my life; barely sweet yet full of tropical flavor. Had to do finish my meal with the luxurious latte! Wonderful staff!!

We had a quick sangria and pizza here and it was very swift and delicious. The first waitress was a little short and said we needed to order food to secure a table but our second waitress was really friendly and accommodating. I feel the place has turned things around after reading some less positive reviews from previous years.

Located in a very picturesque square in Saint Emilion, so great atmosphere. The drinks were good, especially the homemade lemonade. The chicken tenders and panko prawns were OK but not amazing. Prices were a bit high, but I imagine that's necessary to pay for the location!

I had lunch at this restaurant today. The food was okay — I ordered a pizza — but the service was extremely disappointing. When I politely asked the server to confirm if the pizza was the same one I ordered (since the menu was in French and I wanted to make sure I understood it correctly), she responded very rudely. She approached me in an aggressive manner, almost touched my food to point out the ingredients, and gave me a terrible attitude. I also noticed her speaking to other servers, who then turned to look at me. It was very disrespectful and made me feel uncomfortable.

Saint-Émilion Collegial Catholic Church at Saint-Émilion offers great views of the town and surrounding area from its tower, which can be accessed by obtaining a key from the tourist information office. The church is a blend of Romanesque and Gothic architecture, with impressive frescoes and a peaceful atmosphere. Visitors appreciate the historical significance of the church and enjoy exploring its courtyard and cloisters. Located in St.
If you're in the Saint Emilion area, you'll want to visit this church for its historical stories. Walking through the church was very therapeutic, and finding all the little Easter eggs with our tour guide was really nice. Walked through the church, and ended up on the high ground of the city, right by the clock tower, to have the bird's eye view of everything. Would have loved to enter the catacombs and caves underneath the church some other day.

The church offers a peaceful break from wine tasting. You’ll appreciate its classic medieval French architecture, along with the modern convenience of being able to purchase candles or make a donation by credit card. Like the rest of Saint-Émilion, it’s absolutely worth a visit.

A most beautiful church. It has clean unadorned columns and walls that soar to the vaulted ceiling. Outside via a side door is the extraordinary cloister. Wonderful!

What we appreciated the most about Saint-Émilion Collegial Church is the age and that it is like two buildings in one. The older section, away from the altar is clearly Romanesque style. The section, where the altar is currently located, is Gothic in style, larger windows, open ceilings and such. We really enjoyed our visit to the beautiful church.

Not very well advertised, but if you go to the tourist information office and tell them you would like to go up, they will charge you €2, ask for some id they can keep hold of whilst you visit, and they will give you a key to get into the tower. The Tour du Roy is a historical landmark in Paris, France. It was built in 1876 by Emperor Napoleon III as a memorial to his late father, Napoleon I.
The King’s Tower in Saint-Émilion is a must-see for history lovers. It’s the only Romanesque keep still standing in the region, and climbing to the top gives you amazing panoramic views over the town and surrounding vineyards. When you enter, they give you a card with detailed info about the tower’s history, which makes the visit even more interesting. The inside is simple and bare, but the atmosphere and the view at the top are definitely worth the climb!
Irina B — Google review
Excellent viewpoint. It’s definitely a noticeable landmark in this beautiful town. I didn’t go up the tower but took pictures around. If you’d only like to overlook Saint-Émilion, you could simply walk around the tower or went a bit up to the viewpoint, where you can find on Google Map. The town and the view were excellent. Bring your own bike or rent one to enjoy the countryside view. But be aware of the cars, they were at high speed most of the time and there were no bike lanes. I almost got run over once.
徐瑞智 — Google review
Not as many steps (and far safer to climb) as the clock tower and a very worthwhile €2 for a better view. Both are very much recommended though.
Simon G — Google review
Great views from the top for just €2
Olga — Google review
Brilliant views, the steps up top get super steep and shallow. Only €2 but only. Well worth the visit and there's a wonderful wine bar at the bottom.

Nice walk to the top of the hill . Nice view point of the town and well tower

Beautiful. But only opened on weekends.
John A — Google review
The tower wasnt opened when I went so I can only describe anecdotally. Looking up from the fountains, I felt like I was a Flea Bottom resident going about my business as the visage of the Red (beige) Keep loomed over me, certainly an immersive experience. Climbing up, easy despite the smooth stones and steep incline, the expansive views was reminiscent of Highgarden

(Translated by Google) Highly recommended. We did the visit in English although there is an option in Spanish. The Chateaus are family wineries that are much smaller than what we are used to in Spain. During the visit they explain how they make their wines as well as including a tasting of 2 of their wines. It also has a store where you can buy some of its wines when finished. The cost of the visit was €8.5 per person. (Original) Muy recomendable. Hicimos la visita en inglés aunque tiene opción en español. Los Chateaus son bodegas familiares de mucho menor tamaño a lo que estamos acostumbrados en España. We came to this winery by chance and it was one of the best discoveries we could have made. If you have any doubts about which chateau to visit, I definitely recommend this one. (Original) Lugar con encanto. Visitors can also partake in guided wine-tasting experiences in the modern tasting room before exploring the boutique shop for souvenirs.
We had a wonderful experience at Chateau La Dominique. The lunch at the restaurant was delicious. It was a rainy day but with a good weather the view should be amazing. The tour and wine tasting was very interesting, the guide was great not only sharing information about the winery (wonderful design project) and the region, but also answering all our questions. I highly recommend it!
Simoni R — Google review
We joined a tour to experience the vineyards 🍇, where the winemaking process was explained in full, detailed depth. The staff were incredibly friendly and patiently answered all our questions. The tasting sessions were delightful—each wine superb! 🍷✨ Naturally, we left with bottles in hand.

Our experience @ La Dominique was wonderful especially with Sonia as our guide. She went through the history of the chateau and was very informative. I loved the rooftop where the glass rubies were reflective if the 3 types of grapes… Merlot, Cabernet savg and Franck. Highly recommend a visit.
Angeline R — Google review
After very average sightseeing in Bordeaux, our expectations were low, but both my husband & I thoroughly enjoyed our wine tour at Château la Dominique! It was a scorching 40° outside but the guide showed us the key areas on site and continued the detailed explanation indoors, in a more conducive environment. I learnt so much on the 1 hour tour (Visite La Charme) and the guide patiently answered all our questions in English and French. The tour concluded with a tasting of 3 wines, which once again explained the nuances of drinking wine. The vineyard itself is beautiful, with stunning views. Absolutely loved the entire experience and highly recommend it.

Interesting and definitely you must see place in Saint-Ėmilion AOC Grand Cru Classé Château. Another Michel Rollands'wine consultant child. Outstanding new cellar design by Jean Nouvel opened at 2014. 29 hectares, 81% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon. Barrel ageing between 16 to 18 months; 70% new barrels. Wine style, especially famous in Bordeaux, for a spicy character - a black pepper and a smoke dominated with cherries, redcurrants and blackberries. Perfect match with a grill. Neighbour of Cheval Blanc, Figeac and La Conseillante. Good Restaurant 'Le Terrasse Rouge' on the top floor with a rich selection of French wines and menu dominated by stakes. Beautiful view. Open for everyone by apointments. Check a website to book your visit.

Château Franc Mayne is one of the quality estates in Saint-Émilion, offering moderately priced wines. The 2009 vintage is particularly noteworthy for its richness and high alcohol levels. The chateau also operates as a hotel, providing a beautiful view of the landscape and excellent hospitality from the host, Rachel. Visitors can enjoy electric bike tours through vineyards and relax in the pool after a day of exploring.

An Unforgettable Experience at Château Franc Mayne! We had an amazing tour with Véronique—an absolutely brilliant guide! Her knowledge and passion brought the rich history of the château to life. The wines were exceptional, and the underground caves were breathtaking (sometimes literally:). A perfect blend of culture, taste, and discovery. Don’t miss this gem!

Great tour from Antoine! We were about to book one day ahead online and they are one of the few vineyards open on Sunday. The English tour was great, 25 euros includes a tour to see how they blend and age the wines and you can see their cave as well. The tasting includes 3 different wines (merlot) including grand cru classé. We had a small group of 8 people and lots of opportunities to ask questions. Antoine was knowledgeable and friendly. A very enjoyable experience!

Château Le Châtelet offers a unique American winery experience where visitors can enjoy wine tastings at the counter. The estate is known for its small production, with one batch of only 2500 bottles made entirely in barrels that are rotated by hand several times a day. Visitors have the opportunity to explore the cellar, which houses bottles dating back to ancient times.
My wife and I recently had an unforgettable wine tasting experience at Château Le Châtelet. We sampled some exquisite selections, including the 2022 gold and black labels, as well as the 2019 and 2020 primary label vintages. Each wine showcased remarkable balance and charisma, leaving a lasting impression on our palates. What truly made this visit exceptional was Patrick, who made us feel like lifelong friends and valued guests from the moment we arrived. His warm hospitality and deep knowledge enriched our tasting experience beyond expectation. To top it all off, Patrick gave us the unique opportunity to taste the 2023 black label straight from the barrel—an amazing wine and my first time enjoying a pour directly from the source. The combination of outstanding wines, a welcoming atmosphere, and Patrick’s personal touch made our visit to Château Le Châtelet one we’ll always treasure. Highly recommended for anyone going to a Saint Emilion.

Lovely little chateau that’s characteristic of what’s best about a place. Multiple generations working on the same land has a special character in itself. The wines here are wonderful. A sommelier or connoisseur might use more sophisticated or conceptual lexicon but to me these wines are gorgeous, luscious expressions of the spirit of the place and its traditions. This place is definitely the ‘cat’s meow’. There’s adjustment and innovation and accommodation to change, but no compromise with the integrity of the process, product or place.

We've had a great experience visiting this winery. The wines are great and the hostess was amazing and sharing her knowledge of the wines.
Mihaela B — Google review
Went here with my brother. You should definitely book a reservation in advance because that is much more polite and he will have the wine decanting for appropriate amount of time - however we just showed up and rang his doorbell and he came out in like 3 minutes and gave us the most amazing wine tasting we have had. His wine is exceptional. We tried 5 wines that were all insanely awesome. His personality is amazing and he is fun and engaging and clearly loves what he does and is proud of the product he makes (5 generations of making). I’d recommend 100% that anyone in the area checks it out. Just email him beforehand, even during the off season, and he will show you his wine. We bought a case and it’s a great value.

Le Chatelet is a small family opened winery that makes some excellent Grand Cru classé wine. The tasting room is modern and super intimate. Patrick made the experience a whole lot better with his smiles, charm, and passionate wine stories. We left with a few bottles.
Aline L — Google review
We loved visiting Le Chatelet and opening a bottle a year later is an equal 5 star experience. We had a personalized tasting with Virginie at this picturesque french Chateau and were hooked immediately. We came home with a bottle of the merlot/cab franc 2020 and also bought the 2022 "futures" that will be arriving soon. This wine is amazing, world class in my opinion. Velvety smooth, distinctly french with dark fruits, vanilla and light oak tasting notes.
Carly V — Google review
The visit to this castle was amazing. The passion that Virginie had was heart warming and sincere. The wine is great for a smaller producer and is a must for people to come and taste the wine. Very laid back feel and you felt that you were a friend. 5 stars a must if visiting Saint Emilion.

Great experience. We visited during an open house event and it was amazing. The staff did all to make us feel welcome. It’s a cute small place with a very relaxing vibe. We had a great time at Chateau Mauvinon despite the wet weather. The young ladies in the tasting room were very friendly and welcoming. They were also very knowledgeable about the wine making process as we discovered on our 1 hour tour of the vineyard, winery and cellar. You can also just rock up and have a tasting if you’re pressed for time and can’t do the tour. The wine is also excellent and of course we left with some. Possibly most impressive is the lengths they are going to to maintain their organic status. We also loved the pigs and the pig chase 😂

Nice staff, very overpriced. Paid €30 for 2 people to share a tasting. If you paid for 1 person you got the same, but despite paying for 2 people, we shared each glass and paid double. Very small glasses to share (maybe a total of 1.5 glass of wine, split between 2). Location was lovely, but compared to other places it felt expensive for what you got.

Great tour and worth 20€ a person. The history of this Chateau is amazing going back to 1066. Has been in the family over 300 years. Wine is amazing but you'll only try a little of their flagship wine. The cellar with all of the barrels is great. Now how to get one of them back home 😜

The estate underwent significant reconstruction in 2018, resulting in an impressive architectural marvel and a unique wine cellar. Visitors have praised the knowledgeable and passionate staff who offer informative guided tours and delightful wine tasting sessions.
An outstanding visit conducted by Alexia who could not have been more helpful. The winery is incredibly beautiful and the tour was also super interesting thanks to Alexia’s amazing knowledge. Great tour. Beautiful vineyard and lovely wines. The main winery and cellars are under renovation but the quality of the wines and vineyard tour is well worth the time.

Although a part of the winery was being renovated and we didn’t get to see it, we really enjoyed the visit. Our guide took us with a golf cart around the vineyards and explained thoroughly the process of wine making. As for the wine tasting, we got to taste 4 different wines from the Chateau paired with specially selected delicacies. I totally recommend the place for a visit!
George B — Google review
We had a nice tour of the vineyard, followed by a very nice tasting of 4 red wines accompanied by some sweets. The wines are very good, but their price list is way overpriced. For their 2016 vintage for example they ask 120 euro, while you can find the same vintage for 66 euro in the Intermarché! Also other vintages can easily be found at prices around 70 euro at local wine dealers.
Ramses V — Google review
Good tour, knowledgeable host. Highlight for me was the cellar walk-through.
Michael E — Google review
We were ten minutes late, because very close to it (just a few meters), there is another château with a very similar name where, by mistake, we were waiting for the tour to begin. When some kind people told us where we had to go and we arrived there, the little exhibition car had already left and they told us we could not do the tour anymore (only the wine tasting). To our surprise, when the little exhibition car returned, we saw there was no space for us (we were three people) and that they had sold our spots to someone else. So that is the real reason why they could not wait for us, despite the fact that we had already paid for the tour weeks in advance. Shameless people, not serious at all, all about making money at any price. We felt ripped-off (of course they did not offer to reimburse us part of the price). The wine tasting was mediocre, to be sincere, not professional. We had to drink all the wines in the same glass (very amateur) and they were not special. In conclusion, dont waste your time, nor your money, here and try another château, since there are so many in the region (in this one you will find nothing especial, except people whose only concern is shamelessly taking your money). A full disappointment!

Easy to book over phone in advance, Emilie was a fantastic host, nice Chateaux, amazing cellar/caves and excellent tasting of 4 wines. Definitely worth the slightly higher cost than other Chateaux in the area.

Emilie, our guide, was wonderful today at Chateau Beausejour-Becot. I contacted her in advance and was able book a 4PM appointment. The tasting was 12 euros for their 2007 and 2011's vintage; free if you purchase any wine. Luckily, there was a professional tasting earlier in the day, which led us to also taste their 2009 Vintage as well (70% Merlot, 15% Cab Sauv, and 15% Cab Franc), lucky! The tour brought us to their Vineyard (one of the highest appellation at St Emillion), VAT-room, Cellars, Underground Cellar, and their lovely Tasting room. What stood out on this tour was their Underground Cellars; it was huge since Chateau Beausejour-Becot holds 10% of each vintage that goes back ages! It was dark, cold, a bit eerie, and yet wonderful with all the old wines. Overall, Chateau Beausejour-Becot is a lovely family owned estate. They also provide wine from each of the owners and offer lots of wine that's ready to drink now or to save for a special occasion. PS. Did I mention that they are also part of the 18 Premier Grand Cru of St Emillion; Premier Grand Cru is classified every 10 years, so the next classification will be in 2022. *101 Euros for their 2009 Vintage

Château Figeac is a renowned vineyard located in the western part of the appellation, sharing gravel terrain with Chateau Cheval Blanc. While most of the region is planted with merlot, Château Figeac stands out by using high proportions of cabernet franc and up to 35% cabernet sauvignon, making it distinctively Medoc in style.
Wonderful tour and epic wine. The guide was very informative and knowledgeable. She was fun and we all learned alot about the St Emilion region while enjoying amazing wines!
Emmy S — Google review
It is interesting to visit a big “chateau” like Figeac. But the overall experience considering the price to take a look around and to have a few sips of wine, is overpriced. There is no pairing of cheese or anything with the wine, and I even had to ask for water because they didn't bring some to the wine tasting. You can get a similar experience in other chateau for a more reasonable price.
Cristian — Google review
As we were travelling to the Left Bank and rather pressed for time on the day of our tasting, we tried to switch to a 60-minute tour instead of the 90-minute one we'd originally booked. We're so glad that we stuck with the longer tour of this marvellous family-run vineyard in the end! It was absolutely wonderful learning about the history of Chateau Figeac and its wines from our extremely knowledgeable guide Gwen. We could really feel her passion for wine and her pride in the vineyard. We were also extremely lucky because they had just started harvesting and we got a behind the scenes peek into the production process. My husband was particularly impressed by the optical scanner that blazed away, sorting 1600 grapes per second. To top off this amazing experience, in came Madame Manoncourt herself to the tasting room. She was very excited about the harvest, and very sweetly obliged when we asked for a photo with her! And of course, the highlight – the tasting. Both Chateau Figeac and Petit Figeac, their second wine, were so delicious they were easily among my favourite wines from our trip. We were prepared to order a couple of cases home but alas they don't sell their wines at the vineyard. We'll definitely be hunting them down in Singapore!

So happy to see Figeac on a great run of vintages. My main memory is of meeting Thierry Manoncourt in the late 80s, such a Gentleman and l hope his long held dream comes true soon! Also there was a tradition to taste a vintage with some bottle age. A fan ever since!

Hotel de Pavie is an upscale boutique hotel located in Saint-Emilion, just steps away from attractions like the Collegiate Church of Saint-Emillion and Saint-Emilion Bell Tower. The hotel offers a polished restaurant, La Table de Plaisance, where guests can enjoy a satisfying meal. With only nine tastefully decorated rooms, this former convent provides luxury amenities such as air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and coffee machines.
Hotel de Perfect. Amazing hotel on the heart of the beautiful village of Saint Emillon. Service was outstanding (except for M who met us on arrival - will leave out her full name so as not to embarrass her). Florian made up for it in our later dealings with front desk. The room was outstanding and breakfasts were terrific with amazing service. Will definitely be back as we loved the area - the food, the wine and people. Special shout out to Thomas at bar for delivering legendary guest service.

We had a delightful stay at Hotel de Pavie and were impressed by the warm hospitality throughout. The staff were generally very helpful and friendly, always ready to assist with a smile. In particular, the receptionist was exceptionally welcoming and professional, and the lady who served us at breakfast was so kind and attentive, making our mornings an absolute pleasure. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed, with a lovely view that we appreciated during our stay. The hotel's overall atmosphere is charming and relaxing, making it the perfect place to unwind. We truly enjoyed our experience and will definitely choose Hotel de Pavie again when we return. Highly recommended!

Wow! Hotel de Pavie is a stunning hotel in the heart of Saint-Emilion. Florianne and Marine were very responsive in assisting us with both dinner and winery reservations prior to our arrival. Their attentiveness made everything seamless for us. Thomas who runs the bar, is a delight- warm, engaging and is a true ambassador for the hotel. Jeffery- our bellman and driver is wonderful- he was very helpful and friendly during our 3 night stay. We stayed in the Village House and were very happy with our suite. The location and beauty of the property along with the genuine and professional service makes for a true 5-star experience. This is a very special property and I highly recommend it!

An amazing combination of luxury and history, nestled in ancient UNESCO walls of Saint Emilion. The concierge helped us obtain the best wine tasting and restaurant reservations and helped us arrive on time with reminders and by organizing taxi rides. The 22 hotel rooms are spread among 3 buildings that are near each other, with the garden rooms being connected by private paths, multiple elevators, and some amount of mystery and intrigue that makes your stay even more interesting! Even though the hotel is in the middle of Saint Emilion which gets millions of visitors every year, the rooms are incredibly quiet and peaceful. The rooms are surprisingly spacious. The sheets are so soft that sleep comes easily. The shower has wonderful water pressure and room to move around. Even the included breakfast is generous and has plenty of variety to start the day with. Highly recommend!

We stayed three nights and enjoyed the lunch at Table de Pavie. Don't miss it! Special thanks to Kate who took care of us at breakfast with charm and good humor every morning. We reserved the tour of Chateau Pavie and were driven there in the hotel's Bentley!! Didier gave us an amazing private tour of the Chateau and their production methods. Make sure to book this! We also highly recommend the Touk Tuk tour offered by Les Cordeliers. They can book it for you at reception. Merci beaucoup to all of the wonderful staff at Hotel de Pavie !!

Château Cantenac is a family-owned property in Bordeaux that offers tours and tastings of its grand cru wines. Visitors can explore the vineyards and learn about the wine production process, from grape to glass. The tour includes a tasting session where guests can sample traditional and newer wines while learning about the winery's history. The knowledgeable guides provide insights into winemaking techniques and the estate's management, making for an educational and enjoyable experience.
Today we had the pleasure of visiting Château Cantenac – and it was hands down the best experience of our trip! On the same day, we also visited a very renowned château, but it didn’t even come close to the wonderful experience AJ gave us at this beautiful family-run estate. The tour was supposed to last 1.5 hours, but thanks to all our questions and AJ’s fascinating stories, we ended up spending a bit over three unforgettable hours there. AJ isn’t just a trained winemaker who knows every step of the process inside out – she also brings incredible passion and warmth that make the visit truly special. We can’t recommend a visit to Château Cantenac highly enough!

We had a lovely visit with AJ. She explained the family history of the vineyard, the grapes, the wine making process and of course the best part the tasting. We purchase 1 type of the wine in Canada therefore it was great to visit this vineyard and get an understanding of the process.

I found A.J. and Château Cantenac with a Google search. The website was easy to navigate. I emailed A.J. to see if we could visit this small family winery. She responded quickly and answered all of my questions. We had limited time, and it was easy to set up an appointment for a tour and tasting. We enjoyed our time with A.J. at Château Cantenac very much. We learned so much, and it was nice to be at a family winery. It is beautiful. She also modified our tasting because my son wanted to taste first and tour second because he was driving. We enjoyed the tasting and left with a bottle to remember the experience. Along with this winery, the town of Saint Emillion is a beautiful area and a must-see. I would certainly recommend Château Cantenac!!

On our recent trip to France we spent a few days in the Saint-Emilion area where we decided to do a special tasting at Chateau Cantenac. Our host AJ was very informative; giving us the story and history of the property as well as explaining the historic wine classification system of the region. It was a very informative visit including a walk into the vineyard and then an intimate tour of the winery and barrel hall. The tour ended with a serious red wine tasting in the beautiful Chateau. There were many options available in Saint- Emilion for winery visits and we chose a perfect location. A very personable experience. Thanks again AJ.

This has perhaps been the best wine tasting I have ever been to thanks to AJ, one of the family members who guided us through our tasting. She was absolutely fantastic and not only told us a lot about the „enchanted“ Chateau Cantenac but also about the family (4th generation) and winemaking in general. I learned so much and she was so patient with all our questions. The tasting included 3 red wines for 9€. Personally, I am not a huge fan of red wines but I enjoyed all 3 of them. We left with a variety of 8 bottles😁
Sabine K — Google review
One of the best wine tastings we ever had. Not only we got to try these amazing wines, but we got to hear all about the wine making and specially the family's passion and dedication.
Jose C — Google review
We visited Château Cantenac as a large group in the week leading up to our wedding in France. AJ was extremely helpful and accommodating when booking the experience, answering any questions we had quickly and thoroughly. Then when the day came, she gave us a fantastic experience - giving us a history of their family-owned château and a tour of the 19th-Century vineyard and winery, providing a great insight into how the grapes are grown, the wine is produced and all the hard work that goes into it. Once the tour had finished, she expertly talked us through a lovely wine tasting, where we tried 3 different reds and a rosé. It was a great day out and we'd thoroughly recommend visiting Château Cantenac if you're looking for a winery tour and wine tasting experience.

We visited Chateau Laniote in April 2025 having searched for a St Emilion vineyard that is dog friendly. We arrived a little early but received a very warm welcome to wait in the grounds. As did Rudi our dog! Arnaud is a spectacularly warm and funny host who punctuated our visit with pranks, jokes and magic tricks. His approach complimented his vast personal knowledge, his passion for the wine he and his family produce and his pride in his long-standing St Emilion family heritage. The wines we tasted during the visit were so delicious that we couldn't leave without buying a couple of bottles, A little pricey, but you pay for the experience. We'll remember our visit with great fondness when we finally savour them on a special occasion. Arnaud makes what could be a very 'stuffy' experience truly accessible and so enjoyable. Merci Arnaud!

You actually need to go here. They respond quickly to email, it's simple & they're very accommodating. It was honestly by FAR the best wine I had in St. Emilion & I went to 3 other places that day... Arnaud is so sweet & funny & has a few magic tricks up his sleeve for you when you visit. Not necessary, the wine he makes with his wife is superb. The only bottle I bought that day & from a "bad year" no less. It was fruity & full bodies & didn't have a lot of acid like all the others I had tried. They know what they're doing there. I was just one person so he only opened the one vintage but I'm sure if you had a larger group/requested in advance, he'd open another vintage.

We stopped by Chateau de Ferrand for a tasting and tour of the vineyards. I was a little disappointed by the lack of wines we tasted. The tour started out pretty nice, we saw the vineyards and got to visit the storage facilities. Very impressive the size of the entire Chateau. Not much history was revealed either. . Just basic information was given. Once we got inside of the Chateau a quick glance at the bottles and vats where the wine was stored. The tasting only included 2 wines and they reused the same glass. What made this Tasting a huge disappointment was how long it took to get there. It seemed they weren’t ready for our group as 5 employees stood around waiting for someone to say something. I was shocked and surprised they used the same glass twice without cleaning. No food or snacks were served as well. At the end of the tour they seemed more interested in trying to sell items from there gift shop. Very disappointing as I know of this Vineyard and was excited to come visit. The history and beauty of this Chateau is very impressive. Too bad the tour guide was lacking luster.

A lovely wine tour. Our host was able to give us an interesting overview of the local vineyards and Saint George's in particular. I feel like I learned a lot in a very short time. Unfortunately we didn't came in time for our tour. We tried calling but no one answered. When we arrived we found the doors closed. After waiting for 20 minutes a young guy came with a group of people for a wine tasting. I asked if we could join the group now, just for the tasting, but the guy said absolutely no! The tasting lasted about 15 minutes, then my husband asked if we could have a glass of wine since we had already paid for our tickets (2 tickets for 18€)and we are already here, but the guy again said absolutely no since he didn't have any clean glasses!!! It's a very disappointing experience to go to a winery and be denied a glass of wine. I don't know what could be worse.

My favourite vineyard and winery in st emilion. Was priveliged to be hosted so warmly by Marie. Of all the wineries I have visited in france this was by far the most special. Real Premier Cru wines at Grand cru prices. 10/10
Dave B — Google review
Fonplegade was one of the first Bordeaux wineries we were introduced to. They make some really nice Right Bank wines. We took the time visit there some years ago and had a wonderful experience. With that said, it pains me to write this review, but it needs to be said: these folks are attempting felony larceny on a ridiculous scale. It's everything that is wrong with Bordeaux today. Here's the problem: they treat their customers really poorly. For several years now I have been on their mailing list to get "allocations" (due simply to visiting). Allocations of what, you might ask? The exact same wine we can all buy at Total Wine or any other retailer. Here's the catch: they charge insanely high markups for their wines when sold direct. Not like full retail, but like almost restaurant markup prices. As I write this, I have just been given the "opportunity" to buy up to two cases and 1 magnum. They won't even sell you a partial case, you can only buy 12 at a time (why? Greed.). They want EIGHTY TWO DOLLARS A BOTTLE. Folks, this is a $40-45 bottle of wine and it has been such for a decade or more. The most extreme sites online have it for $50-60, but that's too high really. It's great at that $45 price range. It's not great at nearly double that; there are many other second growth choices at that price range. They're apparently so embarrassed by this shameful attempted larceny (as they should be) that they won't even show you the price on their allocation page until you put it in your cart and do the math yourself. Clearly they're hoping you don't notice the ridiculous price, and I'm sure many trusting customers won't. Before you get the idea this is some sort of tariffs problem, rest assured that they have been overpricing their direct wine sales for years. I'm so disappointed by these manipulative pricing tactics. I've given them this feedback before and they ignored me. They'll probably ignore this as well. When you do visit the winery, they tell you this lovely story about American grocery store magnates turned wine lovers and how much all the guests love them and their big parties. It's lovely, and you kind of want to be a part of it. I wish it was true, but in light of their sales tactics I can reach no conclusion except that they are catering to people of a certain age with too much money and too little sense of what value is, and they are optimizing to extract too much profit from these unsuspecting customers who don't understand what wine is worth. It's really a shame to see that in the end they are apparently grocery store robber barons using the same tactics to overcharge customers for wines as they'd use for batteries at the checkout line. I'll perhaps buy a few bottles when I can find a good value, but only if I can get past that feeling of wanting to throw up a little bit when I remember how they have attempted to steal from me and others with egregious and disreputable sales practices. YMMV. There are only two ethical choices here - if they think the wine is really worth what they charge directly, then they should put it in the distribution market at that price and see what happens. Alternately, they should charge loyal customers on the list a value that approximates a fair retail price, OR possibly give a discount for a case qty instead of a markup (gasp). Maybe free shipping from CA for case quantities. And knock it off with the minimum 12 bottle quantity - that's not normal even for St. Emilion (six bottles is much more normal).

Beautiful, but published times for being open don't mean "Open" as in you can come visit, or that an open gate means you can come in. Their website fails to make clear that reservations are required.

My girlfriend and I had the pleasure of visiting Chateau Fonplegade this spring and it will be a memory that we hold dear for years and years to come! We were welcomed very warmly by the staff, especially our host Hakima. The setting was intimate and we felt like we were family. I'm looking forward to coming back and making this a regular stop during our frequent trips to the Bordeaux region.

I would give this 6 stars out of 5. A very intimate tasting experience with excellent explanation of the terroir, biodynamic wine making process, history and architecture. Definitely our best tasting experience in Bordeaux. Marion was fantastic. Cannot recommend this highly enough.

Thank you Hakima and Gina for the best experience of our trip. Your hospitality and generosity are unmatched, not to mention the best wine of the trip! We are excited to share these wines with our friends and family!

Such a beautiful Chateau and experience. Gina was our guide for the day, and she was professional, kind and made the whole experience simply incredible! She made us feel comfortable and right at home! An absolute must do for anyone in the area!

Chateau Fonplegade is a beautiful vineyard located next to the picturesque town of Saint Emilion. The tour was informative & fun and the wines at the wine-tasting were excellent. The staff was very kind and social and made the experience 'one to remember'. I recomend you take a look and go and see the town of Saint Emilion afterwarts.

We were lucky enough to do a tour and tasting on Easter Sunday with Arno and it was amazing! We learnt so much about their vineyard and the process of making their wines (which were so delicious). Arno was so friendly and knowledgeable - highly recommend visiting this chateau. Recommend calling prior

An absolutely incredible one-of-a-kind tasting experience from the farm owner himself! Arnaud was a delightful host and the wine was top-class. A highlight of our trip and certainly a recommendation to anyone passing through the St Emilion or nearby regions!

Had a wonderful tour & wine tasting experience at Château Cadet Pontet. Great value for your money at only €5 per person. We had a very friendly and knowledgeable staff member host us who was happy to take questions the group had and was very informative about the winery and the processes of making red wine in the Saint Émilion region. Although this is a smaller winery I would definitely recommend putting it on your list to tick off if you are in Bordeaux.

Great tour by Arnaud, very welcoming despite the last minute notice (tours are by appointment). Good explanation of the wine making process and great wine tasting.

The winery tour at Château Champion St-Emilion Grand Cru was truly exceptional. It's impressive that this small vineyard operates with just two individuals and sells their wine directly, without the involvement of a wine merchant. Witnessing the immense effort put into crafting their outstanding wines was truly remarkable. The quality of their wine is superb, and I encourage any wine enthusiasts to support them by purchasing directly from the winery.
REALLY GOOD WINERY TOUR! I'm surprised that this winery is only run by two people, and that they sell independently (not through a wine merchant). It's incredible to see the amount of hard work that goes into their amazing wine. Speaking of which, their wine is excellent and I urge anyone who likes their wine to support them by buying it from them. I really like the setting and I'm glad that it was on my tour schedule. Véronique is an amazing host and I'm sure anyone visiting here will leave here very happy at the experience.

Very informative visit! We visited Château Champion (we emailed before to arrange the time) over the Easter holidays and received a warm welcome from David. David gave us a super informative tour around the estate which is run by only a handful of people, answered all our question patiently and guided us through the wine tasting. He also showed us all the steps to professionally taste the wine! Thank you very much for the interesting visit! The wines were excellent!

The lady owner is a great host and is very knowledgeable. I really enjoyed their wines and setup. They are into wine making from last 8 generations and next generation, the son and the daughter, are getting ready to take care of the family wine yards in future. We got a warm welcome from the cat as well

We visited the chateau as part of “the best tour” promoted by the tourist information office and it was a great experience, finishing our day trip with the knowledgeable and friendly Veronique, explaining all about their history, wine and having a tasteful degustation. Highly recommended

Reasonable winery, although I wouldn't call it a Chateau. They produce, on average, about 80,000 bottles per year and sell only from the cellar or direct to the public online. Colino1861 ✅️

The Chateau Pas de l'Ane is a young winery that got its start in 1999. It has since expanded to over 5 hectares of vines spread across 8 Saint-Emilion Grand Cru appellation areas. The winery is known for producing fruity, delicious wines. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the wine tasting is free!
Happened to be driving by on a Sunday afternoon and saw they were open. What a treat. The staff was knowledgeable, and we got to taste two wines. They are open every day and no booking needed to taste. The girls spoke English, making it easier for us.
Jeri J — Google review
My partner and I visited Château Pas de l'Ane in July 2024 to attend the wine and chocolate tour and tasting offered as part of a 'wonderbox' we recieved as a Christmas present. We are very pleased with our decision to attend the artlier. Our tour guide, Julia, was fabulous. Incredibly knowledgable about not just the individual vineyard but about the entire Bordeaux wine landscape and wine in general. We learnt so much and had a lovely time. We couldn't have asked for any better treatment from Julia who was charming, attentive and really passionate about what she was talking about, which we really felt whilst listening to her. The wine and Chocolate pairings were fascinating and as a speciality coffee roaster, I really appreciated Julia's ability to get into the specifics of how different terrains, altitudes and weather impact elements such as the acidity in the product. Bravo Oenamin and bravo Julia. 👏👏👏

A welcoming team of hosts, friendly and knowledgeable. Juliette's tour was informative and fun. The wine is delicious. A shame they couldn't ship to the UK due to post-Brexit customs complications. Would love to have purchased their wine. Great team, lovely experience, good wine!

Fred gave a wonderful tour that is extremely family friendly. He took the kids through the Vineyard and the whole winemaking process and had lots of jokes. He was very child friendly. They also had a very cool escape room that was probably a little bit too difficult for us given we have kids but it was so much fun nevertheless and Fred gave us all the kids. He included a wonderful wine tasting charm with the experience and really helped us understand how the taste wines in further depth. He was just excellent. This is a good family friendly staff. the wine is not the very best but the staff is A++.
