Where to eat: the 49 best restaurants in Montignac-Lascaux

We ate here for my parents anniversary and enjoyed a lovely lunch. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was a variety of dishes to satisfy a group of 8 with differing tastes. We couldn’t book a table in advance so had to queue and wait for the restaurant to open. It is very popular and so if you have a larger group you need to arrive at midday if you want to get a table. Overlooks the river and lots of parasols to provide shade on a hot day!

DELICIOUS menu, very fair prices for the original, super quality of food and wine, delightful view overlooking the river with the option of eating on the refreshing terrace. And most of all the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Had a lovely meal, lucky enough to get a window table looking over La Vézère river as the sun set. Had the slow cooked lamb and the deboned rabbit main meals. Beautifully tender meat in both dishes accompanied by a glass of red wine ❤️

Beautiful setting on the river with a lovely view of the bridge. The serving staff are very helpful and helped me with my very limited French. The food is superbly presented and doesn’t let you down on flavour. They have a good selection of beer and wine.

First we went inside to ask if we could have diner (it was 18.35), the answer was yet at 19.00. Then we decided to stay for a drink. When it was 19.00 we asked for a table (in the empty restaurant), then the answer was that they were full (reservations). So this is very bad client management. We then went to the restaurant next to them, this was very good! When we walked by this restaurant afterwards it was half empty. Disappointing.

We found this place to escape a deluge of heavy rain and had lunch. Even though the rain was heavy we could sit outside in a marquee overlooking the river. The staff were considerate ensuring our table was moved away from rain splatter and went to great lengths to ensure we were comfortable. It seemed to be a place frequented by local people which is always reassuring when frequenting a restaurant. The staff were very attentive, polite and seemed to appreciate our custom. We had the tuna tartar with French fries and the king prawns flambée which was served on a bed of tagliatelle which was an unusual accompliment. This was followed by a double espresso. The food was good honest fayre and served by considerate and professional staff. For a place called Le Flannagan's in France, it was a pleasant surprise and we would definitely return.

Very nice location on the river bank with lots of shade. Little light on staff though, resulting in dirty tables and low attention.

Had a great meal here during the Salle De Fetes on Wednesday. Live Jazz music in the bar, accompanied by a lovely meal and prompt service. Felt like a valued customer and the ambience was fantastic with the live music and a seat on the terrace alongside the river. Food was cooked perfectly. A memorable experience from my holiday.

Very friendly and polite waiters, and the location by the water is lovely. The food is not super. Everything tastes reheated in the microwave. The sides (potatoes with the confit de canard for example) were still cold in the center. Better to substitute with french fries.

We spent a week at this gorgeous hotel and enjoyed every minute. The building oozes charm and character, and the gardens make you feel like you’ve stumbled into a secret paradise. It is a very relaxing place to stay. The service throughout is professional, warm and friendly. We felt very well looked after by everyone. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The aircon worked perfectly and was doing some heavy lifting in the 40 degree heat! There were plenty of places to park the car around the hotel, and it is very well situated for exploring Montignac on foot. The breakfast offers a really good and varied spread of treats with the little walnut cakes being a particular highlight. We had dinner in the restaurant twice and were delighted on each occasion by the delicious food we ate. It’s amazingly good value and incredibly fresh and tasty. They also make a cracking G&T.

We stayed in the self-catering villa, which is tastefully restored timber framed, 1st and 2nd floor on top of a stone ground floor. We'll equipped and very comfortable. There are a lot of stairs, so if you are forgetful, like me, you will get fit nipping up and down stairs for car keys and the like! You have access to the hotel pool and excellent restaurant. The proprietors were very helpful and pleasant.

This is an awesome place to stay. The rooms were very comfortable and reflect charm and style of the area. The food was very good. Gardens were wonderful to walk around and explore, I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is very convenient for all the village/town has to offer. The hosts are very welcoming, the staff very attentive and the grounds are excellent and well maintained. The pool and surrounding area is most relaxing. We stayed 2 nights for the sportive and dined in the hotel, for us we would definitely stay here again and would try the restaurants in the village as we had lunch out which was very enjoyable.

An absolutely fantastic hotel in traditional French style. An extremely warm welcome, very spacious, bright and comfortable rooms and delicious food. Every detail was carefully considered and extremely well done. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

Fantastic. This place is owned and run by two young brothers. They do everything themselves and they do it very, very well. The bar has a great pavement café and a small downstairs area. Upstairs is beautiful with sofa's looking over the river and town. The duck was great as was the rosé wine. I'm ashamed I can't speak French, but these guys even become translators. I can't praise it enough. Chapeau

Perfect place to have a drink, it seems to be the place where the locals also drink and watch sports. Ask for the red house wine it is local and great.

Great food in beautiful surroundings overlooking the river. The steak tartare was huge, with a great salad and crispy fries. Very busy but the staff were friendly and efficient. Definitely worth a visit.

Wow! Such a cute restaurant with beautiful river views on the back terrace. We ordered tomato and bocconcini salad with pizza and both were excellent. The portions are large.

Popped in for lunch for a pizza. Thin and crispy homemade dough base and many choices of toppings in a friendly river side café.

We found this spot while roaming the town of Montignac, its menu looked the best with its variation and pricing. It's by the river with great views and summer vibe when visiting in the summer. They are a family run restaurant with limited staff but they all work extremely hard. We were greeted very warmly for being outsiders and seated immediately. The waitress was amazing and spoke to us very politely inspite of our language barrier. We ordered 2 Pizza's and a pasta. Mind you, you have to be patient as the food does take some time to come, but it's worth the wait. The food tasted amazing and fresh. Had great flavouring and they also offered us chilli oil and tobassco. We also ordered dessert which was sorbet, creams with fruit and Profito rolls, these to amazed us and we loved every bite. I wish I could give more then 5 stars because they deserve it. Keep up the good work.

Lovely setting on bank of River Vézére. We hardly speak French, but we were very well looked after. Plat de Jour was exceptional value at €14 and the Pizzas are to die for! We've tagged this a 'must visit' for our friends.

A bit disappointed. We reserved the day before, arrived on time for early dinner service and there was only 1 other couple in the restaurant at that point. We were told that there was only 1 portion left of duck confit (strange since this is the dish for this region), another main dish is sold out and several other main course items require ordering a day in advance. With these constraints, we took the last duck confit and it was good. And 2 portions of cassoulet. These were severely over-cooked (the top was burned and there was no sauce left to be seen at the bottom of the bowl. The beans were like a dry paste) we could not finish. The cold cut platter as an appetizer was good and generous and the ice cream was good. All in all it was not what we had expected and we will eat somewhere else next time we're in the region.

Decent French restaurant in this little town. We had confit Canard and Cassollette canard which also had sausage and ham (classical Basque region cuisine). It was lovely with friendly and attentive service.

Small cafe with mostly locals in but the menu looked good. Had the menu du jour. Very good chicken liver as a starter followed by a huge faux fillet which was cooked as requested. Good desserts. Not a place for fine dining but it was really good for the price. €46 for 2 of us for 3 courses each; an aperitif, half a litre of wine and 2 coffees.!!

We we not staying in the hotel, we eat in the restaurant (on 6 October 2019). The food was reasonable for the cost, but there were many more 'extras' than is the norm with French fixed price menus. However, the service was terrible and so impersonal; no aperitifs offered, an unengaged waiter and no ambiance or feeling of being wanted as a customer. A great indication of this is that despite the restaurant having just being my wife and I on our table, one other couple and a man eating alone the waiter asked when bringing each course which was for which of us. We eat quickly, didn't order any wine (that's a first!) and left.

Stunning Castle but the room are like a pizza oven so they leave you with a very noisy fan which keeps you awake, had the worst night sleep. The rooms are outdated with bathrooms from the 70's, no fridge in the room and they leave you a very small bottle of water for 2 for the night, avoid at all cost especially in summer!

Simply a WOW ! Everything you could ever want from a typically French Chateau experience , amazing food , excellent service , fabulous setting and good value for money too. We will be back without a doubt , maybe to stay next time too...

Surprisingly quick and tasty food. Service is relatively fast and competent as well. Prices are a bit high but it's not anywhere near as bad as the Google ratings suggest.

The restaurant side is probably OK, but given we didn't want a big lunch we chose the café, which was a big mistake as it is very disappointing for a visitor attraction of this calibre. It is unclear that you have to order food at the counter (even though there is table service for drinks) and the food is over priced and almost inedible - €6.90 for a soggy half warmed chicken wrap in a bit of paper, no plate, no salad garnish. To top it off, an establishment that is about preserving the environment (or at least the historical part of it) only provides in their café single use plastic cutlery and fries served in a plastic box - clearly they don't care too much about the future environment.

We got there toward the end of the typical lunch time and the waiter initially tried to ignore us and remained surly. Food was OK but the sardines came in the tin instead of on a plate. Kind of off-putting.

For me this was a strong 5 we had a salad with duck innards, confit duck leg and junior had some nuggets with fries.. best meal i had in a restaurant for some time ..I would make a stop just for it tbh very pleasent surprise considering the amount of guests

I had a substantial salad for 8€. The table service was excellent. Attentive, polite, and helpful. And great wi-fi for free! And, unlike restaurants and cafés in town, this restaurant is open all day. What a relief to be able to eat at 2:30 pm after the tour! And you don’t even need to be doing a tour to eat there; it’s open to the public. Plus a very pleasant terrace and view.

The restaurant has excellent food and a very nice service, with a smile. It is worth coming even just for the food. The terrace also looks lovely, it must be wonderful in warmer and drier weather. The room was a little damp, but it may be due to the early season and the wet weather.

A friend invited us here for dinner and it was quite nice. Our host/owner of the establishment was very friendly. Place was adorn with country setting charm. A lovely big fireplace warmed up the whole room . Our food was good. Overall a pleasant experience here. Apparently the hotel rooms and outdoor area are lovely as well.

The small hotel is nice, but the house with the single bedrooms is very humid. The dining was good maybe a big too much meat, but I was missing hot dishes, as we were eating outside. I don’t understand why no credit cards are accepted

Lovely people make great stays. We stayed here as it's a perfect location near the Lascaux caves. The owners - Pascale and Eric - were amazing, accommodating our every request with a smile and enthusiasm. They were knowledgeable, friendly hosts. The dinner and wine options were superb, local specialities. Good people always make the difference...

Excellent service and delicious dishes that show extreme attention to detail. We were a party of three people all ordering various dishes with entrees. Everyone was delighted, and we will be back for more.

We came here for dinner having been attracted by their menu. The setting is really calming. We'll love to stay here if we're ever visiting this region again. The dinner was really delicious. Regional cuisine served in a no fuss manner. The best dish was the carpaccio of pineapple dessert served with a scoop of homemade mojito ice cream!

This place was absolutely gorgeous, and we felt so welcomed and taken care of by the wonderful staff. We sat on the terrace overlooking the river and the bride which was just magical, we tried some different tapas dishes and a vegetarian noodle dish which were all super fresh and just divine! I had an amazing pet nat wine, and my friend tried a local wine recommended by the staff. Such a beautiful dining experience, would highly recommend if you're in the area! Visiting Quai 21 is a lovely experience. With a great terrace overlooking the river, excellent service, and an interesting menu, it's a place to visit for lunch or dinner. The tapas, served in the evening, is a great option for food that is varied and not too difficult to eat at a bar! I would definitely recommend checking out the Facebook page to see if there's any live music planned, as there's frequently an opportunity to see a wide variety of performers, both from the local area and further afield. The lounge area upstairs is cosy and warm; great for relaxing or dancing the night away. All in all, Quai 21 is a welcoming, lively environment; the perfect bar!

I have to say the service was fine, my review has nothing to do with the staff. My daughter ordered the chicken nuggets and they were lovely. My wife ordered the confit du canard which was a tad on the dry side. I order the entrecôte which was like a piece of leather, I have to say it was horrendous. Restaurant is in a pretty square, staff were very helpful, toilets very clean. Menu is interesting after 12 evenings duck 🙈 The taste was soooo good though the ratio between rice and the butter chicken (for me) or the teriyaki (for my husband) was out of proportion. Owner (and talented chef) Katja has lived in or visited many corners of the world, and those adventures serve as inspiration for many of the options. The atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. The outdoor seating is in a quaint town square, beneath the clock tower and church of Montignac-Lascaux, France. Great new eatery in Montignac. Small menu but excellent choices of cuisine from around the world. Portion sizes are perfect and good value for money. I opted for the chicken fajitas while our dining partners enjoyed a Thai beef salad and an Indonesian inspired curry. All wonderfully tasty.

I should also say that the restaurant caters for allergies and have Gluten Free options and substitutes. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. If your in the area and want top quality food and service then please do visit. They will not disappoint you.

We had the escargot to start which was delicious followed by a trout dish which was fabulous. The wine complemented the meal. The waiting service was attentive and courteous but not overwhelming in a way that only the French can achieve. We would highly recommend staying off here for a meal. We walked from the small parking area in the centre past other restaurants but this was worth persevering for and in our opinion the best offer in the area for food lovers.

They took great care of us for such a simple meal that if I can return the favour just a bit via this review.

As burgers go, this is up there with the best! A welcome shady garden in a beautiful town on the river. Staff were very welcoming and forgave us for our bad grasp of French. The food was very reasonably priced with a good size kids burger. And what a burger?! Juicy beef, cooked just right, great selection…. Definitely recommend!! 10/10

Went here for dinner on a Tuesday night, not expecting much--especially since the place was completely empty while the fancy restaurant next door was bustling--but I was more than pleasantly surprised. The burger and goat cheese salad were among the best I've ever had, and the wine, at 2 euros, was more than acceptable. The waitress was very friendly, and (thankfully) spoke very good English. She explained that places like this are known among French people as serving "snacks," which aren't as well regarded in a culture known for fine dining, so most of this place's business comes at lunch. But don't let that put you off if all you really want for dinner is something quick, burger-y, and really, really tasty.

Decent french restaurant not far off the river , just by the village church. Typical cuisine of the region, nicely presented and a pretty nice quality of products. Fries were frozen, if only they took the time to have them cur themselves. Very friendly staff, was willing to serve even after serving hours.

Thought we would go out for a Steak last night and ended up at Lou bombareau. Nice surprise 4 course meal for 21euros. Including our steak and chips. The plates were warm, staff were pleasant and rapid, but not rushing us. Which is good for us as we just wanted a mid week meal without fuss! Good flavours with a variety of choices. The house wine was just fine. In the restaurant a local gentleman was on his own with a newspaper and he was attended to quite caringly. Some friends had a arrived together for evening meal. I think they were parked in a camping car at Montignac. So very convenient.. I must add the chips were the best I have had since arriving in France 6 years ago. Hot and crispy without a taste of fat!! I will be returning for the 14 Euro lunchtime menu if not a secret plate of fries.

Lovely little restaurant that also offers 2 guest rooms. Came here with a small group for dinner only. Everything was great. Food delicious, traditional recipes, but contemporary preparation and interesting textures. The mi-cuit foie-gras was excellent, served with stewed pears, chutney and green salad. The pork was served with a wonderfully tasty smoked potato emulsion. Small, but thoughtful selection of value for money wines (highly recommend the red Pecharment). The best food we had on our 3-week trip through France. The owner, his wife, and his son did all of the cooking and serving, but that was August and any help they normally have may have been on vacation. Nevertheless, the service was as good as the food, all in a beautiful courtyard setting. I wish I was local - I would become a regular.

Beautiful hotel, great location and super friendly staff. This is the second time that Mrs G and I have stayed here and we can’t recommend it enough. From the moment we arrived to the time we left, the staff were super helpful and made our stay very special. The rooms are very comfortable as are the beds. We will definitely return!

We chose Hotel Bouilhac as a stop off on our way to Burgundy from San Sebastian given its location. We were not disappointed. The service from reception was excellent and we settled in very quickly for our overnight stay. Our choice not to eat in the restaurant was due to enjoying too much great food before our arrival so we ate in the local village after pre dinner drinks in Relais that was close by. Breakfast was suitable for our needs and the service again was excellent. The room was very comfortable and we slept well, awaking refreshed for the next leg of our journey. We would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel.

What an absolutely beautiful place to stay. The renovation of such a stunning heritage building was superb and the interiors were gorgeous, and styled in a way that was sympathetic to the building and its history. The staff were so welcoming that at times we forgot we were staying in a hotel, the rooms were immaculate and we enjoyed the best meal we had in France on this trip in the elegantly styled restaurant. Our stay at Hotel de Bouilhac was superlative in every aspect and we hope to return again soon. Our thanks go out to everyone who made our stay such a perfect one, you could not have done more.

We stayed two nights here before our wedding near by. The wonderful team, especially Loic, took care of us beautifully. The hotel had a romantic imperialism with modern amenities. The breakfast was lovely, the salon is a lovely touch. Comfortable beds, everything clean. Everything in Montignac-Lascaux is close so location is no issue. We can’t wait until the next time.

I had a great time at the hotel; I really liked my room. The restaurant was good too, and I liked finding certain gems on the wine list, such as the wines of Fabien Jouves - "Mas del Périé". I would have liked to find the same attention to detail at breakfast, which unfortunately was not the case.

We contacted SmooVie Grignotheque to see if they would be willing and able to cater our small family wedding (15 people). Since our first contact, everything was better than we could have hoped for! Sabine was incredibly kind, thoughtful and easy to communicate with. We had several difficult allergies to accommodate for in addition to everything being vegan and Sabine and her team accepted this challenge with a smile. The food we had on the wedding day was beyond our expectations. Our family is a mixture of vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores and everyone had something they tried that blew them away. From watermelon sushi, to tofu chicken, to the berry cheesecake, to the kefir drinks, everything was made to perfection in flavor, presentation and portions. We were worried we wouldn’t have enough food after seeing how much our group could consume and in the end, we had leftovers for the next day. I cannot recommend SmooVie Grignotheque enough! We even had the chance to stop by the restaurant to speak with Sabine ahead of time and loved the meal we ordered and the setting of the garden in the sunshine. This would be a great place to stop if you’re passing through, staying in town, or floating down the river. Thank you for bringing such great vegan options to France, Sabine! We admire you so much.

Prices very reasonable, staff very friendly and a nice courtyard to eat in. There's quite a variety of foods and a lovely homemade lemon drink. Keep up the good work!

Traveled a long way to support a local vegan business. We visited on a Friday at 1pm (when it should be open). Arrived to see message on the door that it was closed. They didn’t warn customers about the closure on google, their facebook page or happy cow.

What a pleasure to be back at SmooVie. The menu is delicious and amazing as ever. We had the specials and they now make their own burger buns!! The water is brought in from a local spring and filtered. That is the level of commitment to quality and taste. There is more seating in the garden. Come between 12-3 Thursday to Monday and most importantly, come hungry. I suggest skipping breakfast that day. Be prepared to have your taste buds excited and thrilled.

Found by chance as needing a snack, excellent burgers, The 'Formule Burger great value for money ( burger, fries and drink) only 15.90 euros. Open kitchen, clean and tidy place to eat, would recommend as staff friendly and understanding of my limited french speaking

Service needs a lot of improvements! One lady to prepare all the food… come on even if she looks like a superwoman is too much for her! The one serving at tables…needs to improve her waiters skills. The other 2 taking the orders…just help the other two poor girls! As far as the food… nothing much to expect, is fast food but keeping in mind to wait about an hour…

Must stop to get your truffle burger! It's cooked really well and super flavorful. The burger costs $14 euros but believe or not that burger will cost you more than $20 in the states. It also came with really fresh and thick fries. We also got a salmon sandwich but if you eat meat I'd highly recommend just getting the burger. It's worth it.

Can’t comment on the food as we didn’t end up staying. We had made a reservation for 7pm and arrived on time. (We did not arrive at 6.50pm) The door was open so we entered. (The gate and door were both open, I assure you we didn’t open anything.) We shouted bonjour a few times but no answer. The waitress finally arrived with a scowl on her face and muttered some words in French. No welcome or hello. We assumed she was telling us off for entering.(I understand you are French, we aren’t disputing why you spoke to us in French it was very clear it wasn’t a welcome your waitresss was mumbling. we greeted in French but there was no greeting to us) She seated us and we asked for a highchair, a very curt response of ‘no’ and walked off. (No apologies) We decided to leave. Upon leaving, we advised as no high chair we will go elsewhere and was advised ‘if we had known we would have got one’. We had, as our reservation advised an infant would be attending. (Our reservation did state high chair. We had no issues elsewhere with needing to clarify) As we didn’t feel welcome we didn’t want to spend our money with them. We had a lovely dinner a few mins walk away by the river instead which was incredibly friendly and a highchair.

Dirty water and wineglasses. Not a nice ambiance as promoted. One table for two even overlooks the kitchengarbage outside on 1.5m distance. The fries" or potatochips are not crispy but soggy like an aspargus or old carrot.(they are homemade, but the moisture in the potatochip is not kooked out.). A 5 minutes walk to the Vesere river gives better restaurants.

When in peringorde, get the duck. The canard confit was sublime, as were the fries. The lasagna was good, not great. The “salad lyonnaise” was interesting, but probably not worth ordering unless you love lentils and ham together. Probably skip the burger original, it’s essentially a fried chicken sandwich.

Delicious food and drinks and the patio is absolutely lovely! There were a few vegetarian options available as well.

A once in a lifetime experience which you can appreciate often. A meal worthy of a Michelin star with reasonable prices. We went twice over a three week period and had two distinct experiences. Just wonderful!!!

Absolutely stunning food. If combined with a wine pairing option, this is a food lover’s idea of heaven. The service is second to none and everything is on point. This restaurant may not be cheap but is Michelin standard at a very reasonable price.

We could say great things for a lifetime. Sina and Nick are perfection, adaptable, and took care of us like family. We dined “twice”. First was the Test Kitchen Menu – 6 courses. Highlighting the region and always presenting something unexpected, mesmerizing, but ultimately delicious. A true experience for anyone who loves food. The second time was a private cocktail event before our wedding. Wines from the region, canapés, cheese table, and trout and duck tacos. The entire service team was brilliant, chic, and generous. We had bad weather right before the start but the sun came out and we were able to host the event outside as originally planned. The team migrated everything outdoors and it became the dream event we planned for. Sina was the perfect orchestrator and we can’t thank her enough. We can’t wait to visit again one day.

One word. AMAZING! They specialize in 5 or 7 (creative & refined) courses. Amazing new wines, paired with the courses. OMG the pigeon was spectacular… Beautiful historical building and ambiance. Extremely friendly owners and staff. We’ll be back!! 👍🏽

A wonderful 3.5hour culinary experience of the Perigord. Every morsel of the 7 course meal was exceptional and served in the most professional manner. The wines were exceptional and the medieval dining room impressive. May the staff and owners prosper and pass on their arts to many generations to come.

This is a very comfortable and well located inn. We enjoyed our stay. More importantly, the proprietors went out of their way to help us when I was sick. They drove us to a pharmacy with a teledoc and picked us up (we only had bicycles to get around). They saved our vacation going beyond the role of “must” excellent innkeeper. They are angels.

We had a wonderful stay. The hotel rooms are clean and reasonably priced. The Restaurant reopened in 2023 and is from april 2024 accessible even without an overnight stay in the hotel. Our stopover on the way from switzerland to the atltantic coast couldn‘t have been better. We‘ll be back.

Awful... hair in food, sent back but than a 2nd hair in food + plastici n food... did they really change the food !! dirty table, owner refused to take any money off for hair and said it was my daughters hair... she has blonde hair and the hair in food was dark and short exactly the same as the owners hair ! We shouldn't of left without paying but we aren't like that.. please don't eat there go somewhere without hair in your food !!! The young lady working was very polite, maybe the owner should try to have the same standards as the young lady.

Unfortunately a really poor experience. We found two hairs in the food, as well as a bit of plastic in the food throughout the meal. The first hair was found on within the pitta bread basket, and we then asked for the bread to be replaced. The owner kindly accepted to replaced the bread (least they could know, especially if we had known how this would unfold). Sadly, the second basket of bread, as lovely as it looked, came with a hair. Long, black, and thickly (tltr: important for the plot, please keep this in mind). The, then, third basket of bread arrived, and the owners started to look slightly annoyed. We were, by any means, not trying to cause a scene, but rather, trying to enjoy our food. We then found a bit of plastic in the salad on the plater. I understand this can happen, however, if you’ve read this far, you will know understand we have by now found 2 hairs, and 1 bit of plastic. Not wanting dessert, we asked for the bill. We went inside, to discuss the situation. The owner expected us to pay in full, with a thank you and a smile. We would have done so, should the above had not happened. I have now written too many words and will resume the rest in a few words: owner never apologise, accused ME of putting the hairs in the bread (I’m blonde). Never apologised. Not once. Offered free drinks. Didn’t want to take money off. NEVER APOLOGISED. Said the bread “came out of the packet. STILL DIDN’T APOLOGISE. So much wasted potential. If you like dogs talking to you while you eat and stay between your legs, hairs in your food, plastic in your salad: go. If you don’t, please go to a different place.

You pay the price of a normal restaurant while you have to go look for your food, cutlery and even throw away whatever is left in your plate. The owner and his “funny zen” vibe ends up being gross and impolite. Don’t come, there’s a lot better restaurants in this lovely town.

The pizza is charged by EUR10 per head. The pizza bread is very thick and the filling is not much. You can see i have cut out the rim of the pizza so i eat only those with toppings. We ordered 2 pizzas and each portion for 4, which can serve for 6. So, for me, it's not value for money because the toppings is not much.

I recommend this place a million percent!!! I am SO happy it was so close to our Airbnb. We were there a week and came here everyday- we loved their espresso (real espresso machine), and I was absolutely obsessed with the antipasti salad, and the pizza was just out of this world- you can taste the quality and care put into making it!! Large portions, amazing staff, amazing taste, will absolutely come back here if I’m ever in montignac again!!

Simply amazing! The fresh, homemade focaccia was the best I have ever had. Fresh ingredients, good wines and friendly staff (that also speaks English). If I could, I would enjoy my lunch here every day. Highly recommended!

The food was fantastic!! And finally a reasonable price too. We got the chefs special and even got to try things we’ve not had before. And it was lovely to sit by the river! The only thing that would’ve made it nicer was not having the loud rap music which was not a good addition to the atmosphere and was not pleasant. Italian, French or no music would’ve been better.

We can here for lunch and it was the best meal we had during our 2 week trip throughout the Dordogne region. The porchetta was one of the best ‘sandwiches’ that I have ever had. And the price was very reasonable for the quality of the food. Will definitely return.

This place is the cherry that tops this magical town of Montignac… We were blown away by the food, the service, and lastly the breath taking and picture perfect view at the edge of the river. You are really dining in a movie scene. Every ingredient was fresh and authentic. Still can’t get over the olive oil which set the stage for everything else. The gelato was out of this world…we came back three times in one day. On top of everything, the service and owners were delightful and we spoke at length with them about their restaurant and the town and region. Top of the top experience. Merci, Mozzica!

Cute little place to grab something to eat. Cost about 50€ for three drinks, three meals and two cakes. Not the cheapest of places but the food is worth it. Very well cooked, the chips and salad dressing was amazing. Worth a visit.
