Maison du Vin Saint-Emilion, located in the heart of the charming village, offers a tasting lounge where visitors can explore and appreciate the renowned wines of Saint Emilion. The thematic modules include Terroir and Discovery, providing insight into grape varieties, soil quality, and wine blends specific to Saint Emilion. Additionally, the Grands Crus Classes module delves into the origin of classification and allows participants to taste three Grand Crus Classes wines from different geographical areas within Saint Emilion.
Just what you’re looking for! A cooperative of 100s of St Emilion chateaux where you can get guidance on good years and good chateaux then pick the ones you want at direct prices. I knew very little and could easily work it all out. Friendly staff.

Nice tour. Tasty wine.
Tibo V — Google review
We were told by people in Bordeaux this was the best bottle shop in S-E for the most fair prices. No tastings or thrills really but a big selection. We were happy with it.
Frank F — Google review
You can find a good deal there as they have a range of local wines available. It's a place to buy a bottle under 25€, for more extensive ones better look from a Château itself
Evgheni K — Google review
Excellent service, good finger food and wine an very nice place.
Ana E — Google review
Great selection of red wine at reasonable price, will definitely be back again
Natalia P — Google review
The cheapest wine of the city, it was recommended by the two different people from the city. They suggested good wines with good price. Best place to buy the wines, because is the place where they receive the wines direct from the Chateaux and they don`t put high margins on top as the other shops do (at least it was what I heard). I bought great wines for 10 and 16 euros
Maria M — Google review
They sell wine, it is a well-stocked and well-made shop, standard prices, there is nothing else to report. There is no possibility to taste glasses (by paying I mean), there is no possibility of having some kind of food to accompany, there is no possibility to sit down. It is a local wine boutique. You can taste wines somehow, but I prefer to pay and drink, then also buy if I like the wine. It is the problem of all the boutiques in the nice town .. then to drink some glasses of wine I had to go to the bar, very expensive by the way.

Château Troplong Mondot is situated at the very top of the plateau in Saint-Emilion, offering a privileged location with excellent drainage. If you find yourself lost in the countryside, just look for the water tower and you'll spot this remarkable vineyard. Alongside other renowned wineries like Cheval-Blanc and Ausone, Troplong Mondot produces high-quality wine thanks to its prime position on the upper plateau.
Gorgeous view and the restaurant has a beautiful position to take advantage of the view. Haven't eaten there yet,but will soon. Sustainable cuisine and one Michelin star. Staff was friendly and the architecture is very stylish.
Martin V — Google review
Absolutely lovely Chateau with beautiful rooms, grounds, restaurant and a lovely swimming pool. The rooms have a view of the village Saint Emilion. The discovery tour took us to their fermentation rooms which looked very modern and pretty breathtaking in design. The wine was fantastic. Claire arranged a lovely picnic basket for us; we picnicked in the garden and it will be one of our most memorable evenings ever.
Yamini N — Google review
I went on 2 visits one week apart. The first was the 90 minute tour which was informative and delightful. Beautiful views, delicious wines and great hospitality. This wine is great and getting better. The second visit was even more special. They offer a few (appx 20-25) spots per year mostly in June and July where they take you in an antique land rover to a secret spot on their land. They host a wine tasting, where at the end you can either choose your favorite bottle to keep for lunch, or each person can choose a different wine and drink a generous glass of wine. You eat a picnic lunch prepared by their Michelin star chef, looking over an incredible valley, with no cars or people in sight. Incredible!
Emmy S — Google review
This is a vineyard. We did a tour and tasting, we did not stay there. The tour was very interesting and our guide was informational and very nice. The tasting was delicious. We bought a bottle and some chocolate made by the chef. They have a chef's garden for the restaurant. Very sustainably minded. Beautiful surroundings.
Mary B — Google review
Hard to judge vs other options in St Emilion but we were super happy with our experience. Beautiful rooms and house although a huge facility. A bit further away from the town so less flow of traffic. We had a great time exploring, using the e bikes and relaxing by the pool. Glad we stayed away from BOD and would definitely come back
Alex R — Google review
Our stay at Troplong Mondot was excellent. From the moment we arrived, we were surrounded by luxury and warm hospitality. The rooms are beautifully designed—spacious, elegant, and full of character. The team was incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile and genuine care. The breakfast was outstanding: fresh, generous, and offering plenty of variety. We also had the pleasure of dining at the restaurant (Michelin star) which was excellent. While no fixed wine pairings were offered, the sommelier gave excellent advice, and wines were also available by the glass. During your stay, you can order Troplong’s exquisite wines, along with a cheese board or tapas platter. These can be enjoyed in your room, on your terrace, or in one of the elegant shared spaces. Throughout the day, coffee, tea, and fruit juices are freely available and included in the stay. The picnic and tea time experiences are also highly recommended—they're a wonderful way to enjoy the peaceful setting and excellent local products. Beautifully set among the vineyards, it offers stunning views and a true sense of calm. The center of Saint-Émilion is about a 20-minute walk away. It’s a lovely route through the countryside, though do keep in mind that it includes some uphill and downhill stretches. If the main house isn’t rented, guests can also enjoy the beautiful swimming pool, which adds an extra touch of relaxation to the experience. A memorable experience we would love to repeat.

Château Villemaurine is a historic winery that offers guided tours of its vineyards and underground tunnels, providing visitors with an immersive experience. The tour includes a walk through the troglodyte caves led by a knowledgeable guide, shedding light on the geological significance of the limestone soil and the centuries-old wine-making traditions. Situated in medieval St. Emilion, Château Villemaurine also offers wine tastings, allowing guests to sample two of its renowned red wines.
Chateau Villemaurine was our final stop in Saint-Emilion, and it’s a great option if you're short on time. The estate boasts about 70 kilometers of the 200 kilometers of tunnels in Saint-Emilion, and our tour with the wonderful Anastasia took us deep into these historic caves. Anastasia was an excellent guide, accommodating our early arrival, which was completely unnecessary on her part, but much appreciated. After touring the caves and facilities, we tasted their wines. Both the Grand Cru Classe and the Grand Cru from Villemaurine were excellent! The wines, from 2020 and 2021, were still young, with vibrant fruit flavors that practically jumped out of the glass. Our favorite wine, however, came from a sister winery owned by the same family—Chateau Sansonnet. After asking a few questions about our wine preferences, Anastasia recommended the Sansonnet Grand Cru Classe. She was spot on! It was the best sip of wine we had in Saint-Emilion, and that’s saying a lot given the quality of wine everywhere we went. Chateau Villemaurine is a perfect place to end your day, as it’s located just at the top of the picturesque village of Saint-Emilion. I highly recommend including it in your itinerary. If you're pressed for time, it offers a fantastic Right Bank experience without leaving the town. No matter what your priorities are, make sure to visit Villemaurine when in Saint-Emilion—you won’t be disappointed.
Jon P — Google review
Great place to learn about Saint-Emilion wines and traditions. You can see both the vineyard above the limestone caves below. The wine was sensational. We bought a bottle.
Mara D — Google review
This was a spectacular tour and well worth the minimal entry fee. They take you over most of the grounds. Thought the vineyard fields, inside to witness the process, and underground to the limestone caves which were quite mesmerizing. Topped off at the end with a couple of tastings of some of their finest red wines. The gift shop has a few bottles as well. You can buy what you tasted there. The place is apparently under renovation to become a hotel/ B&B, but I couldn’t tell. Everything was quite beautiful to me. Would recommend for a really nice vineyard tour that is also close to the town center.
Kevin M — Google review
It's a beautiful château which is directly located in Saint-Emilion. We did a heritage tour with a focus on history of Saint-Emilion and Villemaurine, very interesting to see the tunnel system under the vineyards. At the end of the tour we tasted 2 wines. We highly recommend it if you are on a day trip to Saint-Emilion.
Katja K — Google review
Great tour with some tasty wines at the end. Our kids loved it. Andrea was a great guide.
Adrian M — Google review
We've done a vine to wine tour at this chateau with Stacy, who was very knowledgeable and friendly. The tour starts in the vineyard, followed by the production process, the underground cellar and finally tasting of 2 red wines. The underground cellars are perfectly maintained. All in all highly recommended
Andrew R — Google review
We did a tour and wine tasting, it was interesting to know and to see the quarries, where oak barrels are stored. Beautiful place, full of history, and with a staff that transmitted a qualified information about all process of producing wine.
Alessandra N — Google review
Great tour and tasting! It was very neat to see how they use the old underground limestone quarry. If you are visiting Saint Emilion you should consider this experience. It is located at the top of the town so it is very easy to get to on foot. You can book the tour online and check-in at the little building.

Haute French restaurant
La Table de Pavie is a renowned restaurant located in the luxurious Hotel de Pavie in Saint Emilion. The hotel, a former convent with historical significance, offers a sanctuary for travelers and pilgrims. Yannick Alleno oversees the restaurant, which showcases finely tuned dishes reflecting the terroir of Southwest France. The menu features signature sauces and reductions by executive chef Alleno.
I visited here 5 years ago and had a perfect lunch. The staffs were all professional and the service was excellent. I think the chef changed a few years ago. However, I still can't forget the lobster dish and the St. Emilion wines. I plan to visit again to experience the new chef's cuisine with wine.
Alice K — Google review
I literally don't have the words to properly describe this experience. The precision of their service delivering dishes and refilling wine feels like a dance. The dining room is a work of art. The food is inspired and magnificent. I think a lot about taking aspects of our life and turning them into a work of art. The cuisine as La Table de Pavie is nothing short of a masterpiece. What an experience

Lunch at La Table de Pavie — An Exceptional Experience Our lunch at La Table de Pavie was truly unforgettable. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and invited to begin our experience on the terrace, where we enjoyed a drink and a selection of amuse-bouches while taking in a panoramic view of Saint-Émilion. With the clear blue sky, gentle sunlight, and a refreshing breeze, it was the perfect start. After this lovely moment, we were guided to our table inside to begin the Esprit de Pavie set menu: • Steamed omelette served with Prunier caviar and two sauces • Koji-Zoto cooked in Graves wine, with mature Mimolette and cockles • Duplantier duck with orange sugar turnip, black grapefruit, and Bordelaise liver toast • Gently roasted apple with Espelette pepper, apple sabayon, and caramelized rye bread Wine pairing: • White: Château Latour Martillac Blanc, Pessac-Léognan 2022 • Red: Château Fleur Cardinale 2016 Each dish was thoughtfully crafted, showcasing refined flavors, seasonal ingredients, and a high level of culinary precision. The service was equally impressive—highly professional, well-trained, and gracefully attentive throughout. After dessert and a delightful petit four, we were invited back to the terrace for a fresh herbal tea, beautifully concluding both our lunch and our visit to Saint-Émilion. It was the perfect finale to our wine journey in Bordeaux.
Taz T — Google review
Have only been to one other two Michelin star restaurant and I have to say this one was better. If not purely for the vegetable dish which was all of our favourites. The caviar egg dish and the second pigeon dish was superb. The other were on par and great quality. The only experience I did not love was the towel over my head, not mu thing as I like to eat at my own pace, but the pigeon itself was interesting. The sommeliers were excellent 👌 the wine suggestions were phenomenal and on fact I found my new favourite red. As we were warned, don't eat too much bread because the portions per plate are fairly big so it's a struggle to get through. But of course no food for me anyway was left. Really special restaurant with beautiful decor and a happy bunch of employees so highly recommend.
Same O — Google review
We had lunch at La Table de Pavie at St Emilion in May 2025. It was probably one of the highlights of our entire trip to 10 countries. From the time we enjoyed our aperitifs in the courtyard overlooking the amazing city to the immaculate service inside the restaurant. We would highly recommend this experience if you are looking for a white glove haute French cuisine in the area. We also visited a few other Michelin starred restaurants in the area, but the entire experience at Pavie is one of the kind. At a price, of course. The reason for the 4/5 stars for the food was because we found 1 of the courses very salty, but perhaps our palate was not used to it. It was bar none the most romantic meal we had for our one month trip. The staff was very knowledgeable and converse fluently in English. The entire meal took a good 3 hours, ended with desert and coffee at the courtyard to enjoy the views. Highly recommended.
Carl W — Google review
We had dinner at le Table de Pavie. Phenomenal food and experience, especially the courses that tell a story of local culture. The tasting menu can go quite late (ours took more than 5 hours) and sometimes we felt they had forgotten us, but perhaps that’s because we are not night owls! All in all, the portions were generous, even when it came to delicacies like caviar, and the menu was quite well thought out. You can also request a shorter menu so it doesn’t take as long, which is what I did for my second visit.
Emmy S — Google review
It was a last minute discovery as we randomly visited Saint-Emillion on our way back home. We were extremely lucky that one table in the restaurant had been cancelled the night before so we could enjoy dinner here. And it was absolutely amazing, what an experience! Very attentfull staff, but a special thanks to Glenn and Daphne who explained us the menu and the pairing wines in our native language. Made it even more special. We'll definitely come back!

Bravo to the management and the whole team. Every detail is pure perfection. Elevated Haute-Cusine but sans pretensions and snobbery. I’d even call the atmosphere humble and very generous. A memorable meal and experience. ❤️

Chateau Hotel & Spa Grand Barrail is a luxurious 5-star retreat located in Libourne, just a short distance from the charming town of Saint-Emilion. Nestled amidst the picturesque vineyards, this romantic chateau offers elegant and spacious rooms equipped with modern amenities. Guests can enjoy terrace dining at the chic restaurant, which serves delightful bistronomy dishes for lunch. The hotel also features an outdoor pool and a full-service spa for relaxation.
Excellent chateau with vineyard and winery next door! Diner was fantastic, food was next level. Location was very picturesque and the rooms were brilliant and spacious. Breakfast was a bit disappointing, croissants were a bit stale, which if there’s one thing you expect to get right in France... We did the wine tasting also which was delightful.
Ronan C — Google review
Absolutely amazing. The grounds and property are gorgeous. The staff was lovely and very attentive. The breakfasts were fabulous. Room was great and bed was so comfortable. We stayed for dinner one night and that was also fantastic - you just need to book ahead of time (people in other reviews seem to have forgotten the simple art of “booking a reservation”, which is… common everywhere). We had a perfect stay here - don’t hesitate.
Wes H — Google review
The facility is beautiful but our room did not have the view that was advertised. Instead of overlooking the vines, we looked at a service road that had equipment and people walking past our “private terrace”. We also discovered a security camera directed at our “private terrace”. When I noticed this, I told the front desk. They informed me that there are cameras all over the resort and only security has access to them so I shouldn’t worry. I tried to explain that you can’t advertise a terrace as “private” if you have a camera set up to video the space. I recommended they tell anyone staying in room 311 that their terrace wasn’t private and that it had a security camera observing the “private space”. I was told by the staff that they would inform the management. After we left I sent an email expressing my concern because the front desk did not seem to care. Never heard back from the hotel. I felt the camera was a violation of our privacy and if we had been informed of the camera when we arrived, we wouldn’t have accepted the room and went elsewhere.

Chateau Grand Barrail was the perfect stay for our vacation in the Bordeaux region. The hotel is a skip away from Saint Emilion, one of the wine hubs of the area. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, and the rooms were beautiful and modern. The chateau itself was quaint and was a great place to grab breakfast or a glass of wine. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an elevated stay in the region.
Kyle L — Google review
Where to start. PLEASE realize the photos are much more luxurious than what you’ll be arriving to. My partner and I stayed in the “ executive room castle ” ( lol ) and it fell beyond short of expectations and photos. The room smelt like mold and/or old water damage. We informed the front desk to which we basically had no reply or care. Apart from there being ZERO view besides looking at the adjacent building next door, the shower leaked tremendously onto the floor which led to carpeted stairs ( makes sense for the gross smell ). The pool was also not like the photos. The photos makes it seem like you’ll be arriving at a fairytale chateau in Bordeaux, with swans in a gleaming pond , a gorgeous outdoor pool and spa etc. It’s more so a rundown building with a gym the size of a closet with no windows, smelly/extremely dated rooms, mediocre service and a 1800$ bill for two nights. Our room was also beside the stairs to the restaurant so you could constantly hear staff. Oh, and if you’d like a reso for the restaurant at your own hotel, goodluck! They don’t cater to their own guests before public reservations so we weren’t even able to have dinner there as it was ‘sold out’. I’d highly suggest looking elsewhere for a place to stay, as a very frequent traveller this was the biggest disappointment on our recent trip.
Taylor H — Google review
Very disappointed. We chose one of their best suites which was dark and small. The upstairs shower leaked water all over floor downstairs. The night we arrived we were told we would not be able ,as guests, to eat at restaurant as they were full. There were a group of drunk British men that were yelling and screaming while there the first evening. At the end of the evening we went to the bar and yet another group of drunk men shouting profanities. When I addressed this with management they really didn’t care. We ended up leaving early and losing the second night’s fee which had already been paid ($1000) and the management didn’t even offer any compensation except to tell me I would pay “the penalty”. We live half the year in France and the other half in the US There are much nicer places to stay in Saint Emilion. The Hotel Pavie is wonderful.
Robert O — Google review
Chateau Hotel & Spa Grand Barrail exceeded our expectations. From check in to check out, the service was impeccable. The staff are so attentive and want to help you. They took our car to park at check in, offered to make reservations nearby for dinner, arranged a crib in our room for our baby and helped us with luggage before and after our stay. I would come back here in a heartbeat for the amazing service. I also booked a massage at the spa which was 10/10. After, I was shown to the lounge where I was able to relax and drink some tea. We visited the pool on a Saturday morning with ample chairs and umbrellas available. The rooms were spacious and modern. As previously mentioned, they arranged a crib for our baby and upon arrival we saw they gave him soap, lotion and a toy. We had dinner at the hotel one night which was outstanding. The only comment I would make is upon check in- the front desk informed our party we could have a welcome drink at 3pm. We were in need of lunch and sat out on the patio until our room was ready. I’m not sure if the waiter did not know we wanted food and drinks, but I had to flag someone down after 25 minutes to place an order. Normally I would not mind, but we had traveled far and were with an infant in the hot sun. Room service is available from 1200-2200. Breakfast is quite expensive at around €27 pp for not much besides pastries, omelets and juice. We opted to go to a boulangerie each morning for pastries. Besides this, everything was phenomenal.
Kristin C — Google review
After putting us in a room that was stifling hot, we were told the AC would work so give it time. It never worked. Hear blasting. Told all rooms the same. When we finally got someone to hear us they moved us to another room the second night. And VOILA the heat was off and it was comfortable. We do not appreciate being lied to. Especially from a hotel that claims it is a luxury establishment. It is not.

Château La Dominique offers a relaxed dining experience at its terrace restaurant, La Terrasse Rouge. Located on the boundary between Saint Emilion and Pomerol, the chateau provides panoramic views of the vineyards, creating a picturesque backdrop for enjoying culinary delights. Visitors can also partake in guided wine-tasting experiences in the modern tasting room before exploring the boutique shop for souvenirs.
We had a wonderful experience at Chateau La Dominique. The lunch at the restaurant was delicious. It was a rainy day but with a good weather the view should be amazing. The tour and wine tasting was very interesting, the guide was great not only sharing information about the winery (wonderful design project) and the region, but also answering all our questions. I highly recommend it!

We joined a tour to experience the vineyards 🍇, where the winemaking process was explained in full, detailed depth. The staff were incredibly friendly and patiently answered all our questions. The tasting sessions were delightful—each wine superb! 🍷✨ Naturally, we left with bottles in hand.

Our experience @ La Dominique was wonderful especially with Sonia as our guide. She went through the history of the chateau and was very informative. I loved the rooftop where the glass rubies were reflective if the 3 types of grapes… Merlot, Cabernet savg and Franck. Highly recommend a visit.
Angeline R — Google review
After very average sightseeing in Bordeaux, our expectations were low, but both my husband & I thoroughly enjoyed our wine tour at Château la Dominique! It was a scorching 40° outside but the guide showed us the key areas on site and continued the detailed explanation indoors, in a more conducive environment. I learnt so much on the 1 hour tour (Visite La Charme) and the guide patiently answered all our questions in English and French. The tour concluded with a tasting of 3 wines, which once again explained the nuances of drinking wine. The vineyard itself is beautiful, with stunning views. Absolutely loved the entire experience and highly recommend it.

Interesting and definitely you must see place in Saint-Ėmilion AOC Grand Cru Classé Château. Another Michel Rollands'wine consultant child. Outstanding new cellar design by Jean Nouvel opened at 2014. 29 hectares, 81% Merlot, 16% Cabernet Franc, 3% Cabernet Sauvignon. Barrel ageing between 16 to 18 months; 70% new barrels. Wine style, especially famous in Bordeaux, for a spicy character - a black pepper and a smoke dominated with cherries, redcurrants and blackberries. Perfect match with a grill. Neighbour of Cheval Blanc, Figeac and La Conseillante. Good Restaurant 'Le Terrasse Rouge' on the top floor with a rich selection of French wines and menu dominated by stakes. Beautiful view. Open for everyone by apointments. Check a website to book your visit.

Haute French restaurant
Nestled within the picturesque Troplong Mondot vineyards, Bed & Breakfast - Les Belles Perdrix offers a luxurious countryside retreat with its country-chic rooms and seasonal pool. The Michelin-starred restaurant on the property provides an elegant and hospitable environment, featuring modern decor and a fantastic wine selection. The traditional French-style interior is adorned with warm lighting, contemporary furnishings, and beautiful artwork, creating an atmosphere of sophistication from the moment you step in.
We had the best time at Chateau Troplong Mondot, a well rounded experience having stayed at the Keys, a dinner at Les Belles and a tour of the vineyard + tasting. Everything was incredible. Julie and Claire were amazing hospitality hosts, the Art Studio where we stayed was calm, serene and clean & it's easy to get into the city center. Highly recommend!

Our meal at Les Belles Perdrix was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm, attentive service that set the tone for a truly memorable evening. The setting is lovely — perched among the vineyards, with a serene and elegant atmosphere that perfectly complements the refined cuisine. The food was exquisite, showcasing creativity, precision, and a genuine respect for local ingredients. Every dish we tried was beautifully presented and full of flavor, with an outstanding balance between sophistication and heartiness. The wine list, as expected in this part of France, was impressive and very well curated — the sommelier offered thoughtful recommendations that paired perfectly with our meal. Service throughout was professional yet friendly, making us feel genuinely welcome and well cared for. There’s a lovely sense of calm and quiet luxury to the whole experience, and you can tell the team takes great pride in what they do. Les Belles Perdrix is the kind of place that reminds you why dining out can be such a joy. We left feeling truly satisfied and already looking forward to returning. Highly recommended for those in the region seeking an exceptional meal in a stunning setting.

I had the most incredible experience at Les Belles Perdrix. The food was truly the best I’ve ever had, every dish was crafted with such precision and attention to detail, balancing flavors beautifully while showcasing the finest ingredients. On top of that, the setting was simply breathtaking, with a stunning view that made the meal feel even more special. The combination of world-class cuisine, impeccable presentation, and the serene atmosphere left me in awe. This is a place I will absolutely be coming back to, and I cannot recommend it highly enough.

The best vibe with the best meal we had in Bordeaux! This 1 star restaurant offered best value meal than other 2 stars restaurants in Bordeaux ( we tried them all ). The staffs were very friendly, what a lovely energy from the chateau. The wine we opened was special, we can not find it anywhere else so I guess next year, we will be back for sure- cheers !!!

Excellent food, wine and service. It is a one star restaurant that should have at least two stars. The Troplong Mondot wine is priced at retail!!! The service is charming, multi-lingual, and passionate about what they recommend. The architectural and interior detail is inviting , relaxed and memorable. I shall return.

My wife and I had lunch at Les Belles During a wine tour day in Saint-Emilion. The food and service were absolutely impeccable. Great wine selection. And the view from the Terrace overlooking the vineyard was a small slice of heaven. Highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area.

We dined at the restaurant: Best food experience I can remember. Each dish was a journey. Wonderful service from François, Mathieu and Andrea. I also think it's exceptional value for the price.

Absolutely incredible experience and lunch. The ambiance, the vineyard, the outdoor patio and dining room are all amazing. The service was friendly and professional. We noticed and appreciated the choreographed mirror service of our dishes. Large selection of wines, we chose a great Chateuneuf du Pape that's more to my taste. Totally worth a trip if you are in the Bordeaux area.

Château Cheval Blanc, a renowned wine producer established in the 19th century, boasts both modern and historic facilities. The estate is celebrated for its Saint Emilion wines, including Chateau Canon, Clos Fourtet, and Chateau Angelus. Merlot plays a significant role in their success due to the region's colder soils that slow grape ripening and enhance flavor.
We visited in October Château Cheval Blanc and were given a professional tour of the property. What a privilege! The facilities were outstanding and we tasted the 2011 vintage which we enjoyed on the beautiful rooftop terrace.

An unforgettable evening at Cheval Blanc! They organized a breathtaking classical music concert right in the vinification cellar - the acoustics and atmosphere were magical. After the performance, we enjoyed a delightful apéro with exquisite wines and small bites. A perfect blend of art, music, and wine culture - truly a unique and memorable experience!

One of four best vinery in Saint-Ėmilion with Piere Lurton real star on the top. Architects Christian de Portzampar. •Châteaux Cheval Blanc, 2016 • Is dominated by Merlot at 59% with 38% Cabernet Franc and 3% Cabernet Sauvignon, which returns in this year’s blend. •Château Cheval Blanc, 2015 For the first time in the history of Château Cheval Blanc, there will be no 2015 Petit Cheval. All grapes from this harvest were soo good to go into a proces of making the grand Vin. 2015 Château Cheval Blanc. 55% Merlot 45% Cabernet Franc. The average sugar content on the Cab Franc were higher than the Merlot (Similar to 2011). Vine from forty - one plots went to the blend. Weather Conditions Temperature and precipitation were near to average during the first three months of the year. The rest of 2015 was very dry. 535 mm of rainfall, the second dryer vintage after 2005 (501 mm) in 20 years. Only a rainy first two weeks of August. But after the 15th of August dry weather come back again. The Growth cycle Bud break in 2015 was the latest for the last 25 years of Ch. Blanc, normal growth with short and fast flowering (from April to July). Similar situation with Véraison: rapid and even. Quick ripening, especially on gravelly soil. August shower gave a boost to photosynthesis. Small berry size. Merlot was picked on the 3th of September, just 31 days after mid-véraison. Harvest was finished on the 6th of October (34 days), another record at Ch. Blanc. Good ripening condition, grapes had high sugar levels and a low malic acid content. But thanks to the cool end of the season, the grapes had a lower pH than usual and a very good aromatic freshnest. Deep ruby and red color, quite intense with a touch of purple shadow (the efect of cool Autumn) with a lot of sexy legs on the glass. Very shiny. Rich clean nose, midium plus, with a big basket of of autumn fruits, like red apples, plums, sour cherries, raspberries, blackcurrants, blueberries and forest berrys jam with overtones of violet, purple roses and lilac. Wet wooden floor, pencils shapes and balsamic aromas with a black and a white peper, an aniseed and cinnamon. Dry, midium palate with similar character of fruits and flowers, like on the nose side with a creme de cassis, ripe soft tannin and soft almonds. Concentrated wine with long finish. Midium plus acid. Power full on one side and round, elegant, well structured wine on the other side. Well build architecture shape. Very long finish. Big potential for aging. Minimum 12 years, to show the all power of this vintage. I can't wait, for another chance to tast this wine again, in few years. Outstanding, premium wine and vintage. P.T. Tasted on the 5th of April, 2016. •The best vintage for this Château was probebly 1947.

We have been coming to the Terrace for many years and love the location, food and choice of fine wines including their own Chateau, Chateau Dominique. However, on this occasion we arrived 1.15pm, placed our order and then waited an hour for our main course even though we enquired its whereabouts and arrived at 2.30pm. Then it was too late for dessert so we left. Very disappointing.

Chai Pascal is a cozy kitchen with exposed-stone walls, offering classic dishes made with local ingredients. The menu features simple yet outstanding food and a great wine list at reasonable prices. The owner, Pascal, previously worked in a top Parisian wine shop before opening the restaurant in Bordeaux. The inviting ambiance makes it perfect for a romantic and relaxed dinner, where you can enjoy fresh oysters and traditional French dishes like Croque monsieur.

The service is impeccable – attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. Our meal was a highlight, starting with the perfectly seared Foie Gras, rich and meltingly tender, a true taste of luxury. The Pan-Seared Duck Breast was equally impressive, cooked to perfection with a crispy skin and succulent, pink interior, complemented by a delicious sauce. Their wine list, as expected in this region, is extensive and well-curated, offering fantastic local selections. The staff were excellent at recommending pairings that elevated our meal.

Kate B — Google review
Che Pascale is located in a convenient spot in the village, slightly away from the main center. The interior is tastefully decorated: small, closely spaced tables, yet the atmosphere remains pleasant and airy. The service is professional, but from the very start there is a noticeable push to order wine, aperitifs, and bottled water. Declining these suggestions is often met with a subtle sense of impatience from the staff. For starters, we had a tuna and salmon tartare — average in quality, modest in portion size, and rather simple in flavor. The meat, supposedly their signature dish and among the most expensive on the menu, was of only moderate quality: tough in parts, with sinew and chewy sections. The rare cooking was well executed, however. The bill was average for Saint-Émilion, so reasonable in that sense, but the overall experience did not make us feel truly welcome. A reservation is still recommended, given the large number of tourists — mostly American and Asian — who may be more receptive to the constant upselling of wine and aperitifs, even at lunchtime.

The liquor store Les Cordeliers offers a wide variety of wines including local sparkling wine Crémant de Bordeaux. The quaint garden setting is perfect for relaxing while enjoying your drink. Inside the walls of Saint-Émilion, Les Cordeliers has been producing sparkling wine for over 100 years.
What a great place to have a picnic. We had a fantastic experience sitting in the garden terrace splitting a bottle of their best bubbly.
John A — Google review
Beautiful setting, but the experience doesn’t quite live up to the price We visited Cloître des Cordeliers in Saint-Émilion with high hopes, but overall the experience was a bit underwhelming. The tuk-tuk tour felt quite overpriced — €30 per adult and €25 per child — especially considering that you don’t actually enter any vineyards, just see them from the road. The guide provided only very basic information, both during the ride and at the short wine tasting afterwards. That said, the cloister garden itself is lovely — peaceful and well maintained — and the outdoor café is a nice spot to relax. You can pick up some simple food like pâté, bread, and a glass or a bottle of wine, which we enjoyed, although the service was quite slow and we didn’t exactly feel welcomed as customers. The gift shop was a bit confusing, with a mix of toys and random non-wine-related items, which didn’t really fit the setting. In short, it’s a pretty place to visit, but the overall experience felt a bit disjointed and overpriced for what you get.
Irina B — Google review
Here’s the deal. There is coffee stand just inside the gate, and they may be the only place in town with vegan food. They have a large selection of “spreads” which they sell in small glass jars for a picnic there or to go. Not the best value but certainly homemade and tasty and plant based. They were open on Sunday afternoon when we visited.
Shawn B — Google review
An unforgettable experience at the Cloître des Cordeliers! The tour was absolutely fantastic, led by the brilliant Ophélie, a truly charming and passionate guide who’s a superb ambassador for Saint-Émilion. She brought the history and stories of the cloister to life with such enthusiasm and warmth. The tuk-tuk vineyard tour was a real highlight, informative, fun, and a great way to get a sense of the scale and beauty of the surrounding wine country. The visit to the labyrinthine underground caves was equally impressive, and the wine tasting at the end was a perfect way to round off the experience. Highly recommended! A must-do in Saint-Émilion!

Château Croizille is located in the Saint-Emilion appellation and offers one of the most stunning views from its terrace wine bar. It is home to the only terraced vineyards in Bordeaux, making it a unique destination for wine enthusiasts. Visitors can explore both Château Croizille and Tour Baladoz, experiencing a blend of traditional and modern winemaking.
Let me start by saying marvellous tour and highly recommended. Location: 9/10 the winery/winyard can be easily located on map and easy to drive to if you are by car. Staff: 10/10-very friendly and knowledgeable staff. They have keen eye for details, walk you through each and every step of wine making along with history in amazing detail. Experience: 10/10, it’s a curated experience and you’ll come out learning something new despite you think “i know alot about wine”. There is remarkable difference between visiting an actual vineyard vs visiting something commercial which is just sake of experience. Here, you visit and feel every step of the process, they walk you though every step, from impact of soil, pesticides, climate on the grapes to how all this actually translates to the taste of wine you drink so casually. It’s a very fine combination of art and science..no wonder French people are so attached to it. They have two state of art process (traditional with all the barrel fermentation & modern with machines) and you can visit both. The dégustations(wine tasting) is a very fine experience here, you get to taste their flagship grand cru wines to the newly crafted (and none less than the authentic Provence ones) JM Rose. At the end of tour, you have a shop where you can buy their wines and souvenirs. I ended up buying lot of their Rose (which is a shame because they have finer products in red wine like grand cru and grand cru classic)but « heart wants what it wants » I loved their collection and highly recommend it to all those who want to have an authentic wine tasting experience and learn a thing or two about how your favourite drink is made.

Château Le Châtelet offers a unique American winery experience where visitors can enjoy wine tastings at the counter. The estate is known for its small production, with one batch of only 2500 bottles made entirely in barrels that are rotated by hand several times a day. Visitors have the opportunity to explore the cellar, which houses bottles dating back to ancient times.
My wife and I recently had an unforgettable wine tasting experience at Château Le Châtelet. We sampled some exquisite selections, including the 2022 gold and black labels, as well as the 2019 and 2020 primary label vintages. Each wine showcased remarkable balance and charisma, leaving a lasting impression on our palates. What truly made this visit exceptional was Patrick, who made us feel like lifelong friends and valued guests from the moment we arrived. His warm hospitality and deep knowledge enriched our tasting experience beyond expectation. To top it all off, Patrick gave us the unique opportunity to taste the 2023 black label straight from the barrel—an amazing wine and my first time enjoying a pour directly from the source. The combination of outstanding wines, a welcoming atmosphere, and Patrick’s personal touch made our visit to Château Le Châtelet one we’ll always treasure. Highly recommended for anyone going to a Saint Emilion.

Lovely little chateau that’s characteristic of what’s best about a place. Multiple generations working on the same land has a special character in itself. The wines here are wonderful. A sommelier or connoisseur might use more sophisticated or conceptual lexicon but to me these wines are gorgeous, luscious expressions of the spirit of the place and its traditions. This place is definitely the ‘cat’s meow’. There’s adjustment and innovation and accommodation to change, but no compromise with the integrity of the process, product or place.

Went here with my brother. You should definitely book a reservation in advance because that is much more polite and he will have the wine decanting for appropriate amount of time - however we just showed up and rang his doorbell and he came out in like 3 minutes and gave us the most amazing wine tasting we have had. His wine is exceptional. We tried 5 wines that were all insanely awesome. His personality is amazing and he is fun and engaging and clearly loves what he does and is proud of the product he makes (5 generations of making). I’d recommend 100% that anyone in the area checks it out. Just email him beforehand, even during the off season, and he will show you his wine. We bought a case and it’s a great value.

We loved visiting Le Chatelet and opening a bottle a year later is an equal 5 star experience. We had a personalized tasting with Virginie at this picturesque french Chateau and were hooked immediately. We came home with a bottle of the merlot/cab franc 2020 and also bought the 2022 "futures" that will be arriving soon. This wine is amazing, world class in my opinion. Velvety smooth, distinctly french with dark fruits, vanilla and light oak tasting notes.

Hotel de Pavie is an upscale boutique hotel located in Saint-Emilion, just steps away from attractions like the Collegiate Church of Saint-Emillion and Saint-Emilion Bell Tower. The hotel offers a polished restaurant, La Table de Plaisance, where guests can enjoy a satisfying meal. With only nine tastefully decorated rooms, this former convent provides luxury amenities such as air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and coffee machines.
Hotel de Perfect. Amazing hotel on the heart of the beautiful village of Saint Emillon. Service was outstanding (except for M who met us on arrival - will leave out her full name so as not to embarrass her). Florian made up for it in our later dealings with front desk. The room was outstanding and breakfasts were terrific with amazing service. Will definitely be back as we loved the area - the food, the wine and people. Special shout out to Thomas at bar for delivering legendary guest service.

We had a delightful stay at Hotel de Pavie and were impressed by the warm hospitality throughout. The staff were generally very helpful and friendly, always ready to assist with a smile. In particular, the receptionist was exceptionally welcoming and professional, and the lady who served us at breakfast was so kind and attentive, making our mornings an absolute pleasure. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed, with a lovely view that we appreciated during our stay. The hotel's overall atmosphere is charming and relaxing, making it the perfect place to unwind. We truly enjoyed our experience and will definitely choose Hotel de Pavie again when we return. Highly recommended!

Wow! Hotel de Pavie is a stunning hotel in the heart of Saint-Emilion. Florianne and Marine were very responsive in assisting us with both dinner and winery reservations prior to our arrival. Their attentiveness made everything seamless for us. Thomas who runs the bar, is a delight- warm, engaging and is a true ambassador for the hotel. Jeffery- our bellman and driver is wonderful- he was very helpful and friendly during our 3 night stay. We stayed in the Village House and were very happy with our suite. The location and beauty of the property along with the genuine and professional service makes for a true 5-star experience. This is a very special property and I highly recommend it!

An amazing combination of luxury and history, nestled in ancient UNESCO walls of Saint Emilion. The concierge helped us obtain the best wine tasting and restaurant reservations and helped us arrive on time with reminders and by organizing taxi rides. The 22 hotel rooms are spread among 3 buildings that are near each other, with the garden rooms being connected by private paths, multiple elevators, and some amount of mystery and intrigue that makes your stay even more interesting! Even though the hotel is in the middle of Saint Emilion which gets millions of visitors every year, the rooms are incredibly quiet and peaceful. The rooms are surprisingly spacious. The sheets are so soft that sleep comes easily. The shower has wonderful water pressure and room to move around. Even the included breakfast is generous and has plenty of variety to start the day with. Highly recommend!

Hotel de Pavie is truly a five star experience from start to finish! From our first contact for reservations, the service was impeccable and amiable. We stayed three nights and enjoyed the lunch at Table de Pavie. Don't miss it! Special thanks to Kate who took care of us at breakfast with charm and good humor every morning. We reserved the tour of Chateau Pavie and were driven there in the hotel's Bentley!! Didier gave us an amazing private tour of the Chateau and their production methods. Make sure to book this! We also highly recommend the Touk Tuk tour offered by Les Cordeliers. They can book it for you at reception. Merci beaucoup to all of the wonderful staff at Hotel de Pavie !!

Absolutely stunning location, views and service. Everything you would expect from a Relais & Chateaux hotel. One of the best we’ve stayed at and we’ve stayed at a lot. Such lovely people making sure you feel welcomed and special. Bravo! We stayed in the room called Pavie. Best view of the valley by far.

Wow! This has been an all around 5 star experience. Clean, quiet, front desk is helpful, bartender Thomas was very accommodating. Beautiful central located property. Will return!

Wine store
La Grande Cave de Saint-Émilion is a charming wine shop located in the heart of Saint-Émilion, offering an impressive selection of local wines. Visitors can enjoy personalized wine tastings and gain insights into the rich traditions of wine production in the region. The knowledgeable staff, such as Jean-Philippe and Amelie, provide excellent guidance and are willing to assist with shipping orders to various locations, including the USA.
My husband purchased a wonderful 1985 chateau Magdelaine from here. The sales person was most helpful! We will be back!

Scam! We bought $1,000 worth of wine as well as a nearly $300 decanter tool. When the wine arrived it came without the tool, and when we contacted them saying it was not in the box they said they didn’t have it in their inventory and would not do anything. I showed them receipts and photos and they never would email me back after a time. They stole $300 from us, stay away!! Read the other reviews that show one star- they have similar experiences. DO NOT SHOP HERE!

We enjoyed the wine tasting at la Grande Cave this summer with Jean Batiste, but we have been very disappointed with the shipment of the wine we bought. Owners never responded to emails and did not follow up on phone calls after we noticed the bottle they sent were not what we bought. These people are not professional.

Great little wine shop in the heart of Saint Émilion by the tower. Awesome selections of local wines and with the added benefit of your personal guide to walk you through your journey. Jean-Baptiste was a kind and wonderfully knowledgeable helper on our wine tour around his shop. Would recommend!
Andrew K — Google review
12 bottles delivered to the USA successfully. Jean Baptiste was very helpful in selecting an assortment for us and was very accommodating of our budget needs.
James A — Google review
We had a most delightful experience here! Amelie assisted us with tasting and really listened to our likes/dislikes, yet also had us tasting many different styles of Bordeaux wines. They will ship to USA. (Will ship also when weather better. )Would highly recommend!

We tasted at La Grande Cave when we visited Saint-Émilion in preparation for our wedding and were most impressed by the wines we tried here. Jean-Philippe was very generous with his time. He worked with us directly to ship wines to the US as well as helping me order cases ahead of time for us to pick up in France for our wedding. We hope to visit them again when we are next in the area.

Excellent wine shop with plenty of choice. The staff is nice, helpful and very knowledgeable. We enjoyed a great tasting and found lovely wines to be shipped home. Shipping was secured and fast. Definitely recommend this shop when in Saint Emilion.

Nestled in the charming town of Saint-Emilion, Clos 1906 Luxury Accommodation & Antiques Gallery is a sophisticated bed and breakfast housed in an elegant 18th-century stone manor. This refined retreat boasts four stylish rooms and a two-bedroom apartment, all designed with comfort and character in mind. Guests can unwind by the seasonal outdoor pool or take leisurely strolls through the beautifully maintained garden and terrace, which offer stunning views of the surrounding vineyards.
We stayed at Clos 1906 for five nights to attend my brother’s wedding in Saint Emilion. We truly had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful location. Eduard and David are exceptional hosts, they made us feel so welcome, going above and beyond to help us with any request. Beautiful decor, amazing bedding, and impeccably clean. Clos 1906 is dreamy and a must visit. We are looking forward to our next stay.

We had a wonderful stay! Enjoyed the decor, comfortable home and lovely host and staff. 12-15 min walk to the center of St-Emilion.

This is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Incredibly friendly owners, gorgeous homemade breakfasts every day, excellent honesty bar and a beautiful, easy 20 min walk to the centre of St Emilion. We loved every minute.

Perfect place for a relaxing holiday in St. Emillion with the vineyard around the property. Eduard was very attentive and the house was beautifully decorated. Excellent french-styled breakfast. Highly recommend!!

Simply fantastic. As already mentioned by others, a beautifully decorated, quiet and well positioned retreat. We will see you both again soon

The perfect 3 night stay to end off our honeymoon! The entire property has so much charm, very peaceful and quiet, and just a lovely 10min walk to the town centre. The suite is really modern yet cosy, with the most comfortable bed for a good night sleep. Since it’s peak summer, the swimming pool was a great respite from the heat as well! The owner Eduard was very hospitable, and gave great advice on restaurants and wine tours. All of his recommendations are spot on and 10/10! Really loved the small touches, like remembering we like 2 cups of coffee in the morning, and helping us with all the booking arrangements. Would definitely recommend this stay to anyone!
Pearlyn — Google review
Had a wonderful 3 night stay here. The owners are extremely kind and helpful. The house is beautiful, rooms are spacious, with character yet modern. Location was perfect for us, a 10 min walk to the town but allowed us to park the car there and explore the area on foot. Breakfast is definitely worth having, croissant, bread, fruit, ham cheese eggs etc. a lovely leisurely way to start the day. Would highly recommend visiting.
