Aquarium
Zoos & Aquariums
Non-profit organization
Mystic Aquarium is a popular interactive aquarium featuring a variety of marine life, including beluga whales, African penguins, sea lions, and sharks. The aquarium offers unique exhibits such as Steller sea lions and beluga whales that are rarely seen in other parts of the country. Visitors can also explore the Olde Mistick Village in Stonington for dining, shopping, and entertainment options.
It was a fantastic experience. It's a bit pricey, but when you consider the amount of animals they take care of, you get it. It was $82 just for my child and I to get in, to give you a perspective. I loved the Beluga whales, the seal show was adorable and the indoor gallery area was a fun experience. The keepers located throughout were very informative and gladly answered any and all questions. I highly recommend this aquarium.
Naughty L — Google review
Mystic Aquarium is an excellent spot for children, especially between the ages of 4 and early teens. The exhibits are engaging, and the attractions they do have are very well done. The sea lion show is free, fun, and worth planning around—just make sure to check the schedule ahead of time. Since it’s outdoors, you’ll also want to be mindful of the weather. While I was a little disappointed with the overall size of the aquarium, what’s here is high quality. Be prepared though—most extras cost money, so definitely bring your wallet. With more funding and awareness, this place has the potential to grow into an even larger attraction. Overall, it’s still a great family experience and well worth a visit.
Thomas E — Google review
Fantastic experience at the Mystic Aquarium. It is a lot smaller than I expected and the majority of the exhibitions are outdoors so thankfully, we choose the perfect sunny day to visit. Our highlights were seeing the Beluga whales swimming about outside and seeing the sea turtle inside. We also loved that they had a Del's Lemonade stand by the gift shop. A lovely little treat on our way out. Definitely a fantastic experience with the family. Now for my standard comments. Parking is plentiful out front and free. Location is well kept and clean. Very comfortable walking outside assuming the weather is good. Indoor exhibits never got too crazy, at least during the time that we were there.
Christine L — Google review
Where do I begin, this Aquarium is the best I've been to. The staff are all so friendly, and care so much about each and every animal in the facility. They have staff stationed at the enclosures in case you have any questions on a particular animal or exhibit, and they are so knowlegable. The Beluga whales are so cool, and almost seem like they interact with anyone who's at the glass and seeing everything they do for them is a bonus! The Main gallery has so many different tanks with all kinds of aquatic life and detailed plaques on each one, with any information you might want to know about a specific species. They even have not one.. but two touch tanks! This Aquarium is the perfect spot for a family day trip, the staff at the touch tanks were so friendly making sure any kid that wanted to participate was allowed the opportunity to do so and the layout was so cool to walk through. The pricing is extremely fair for what you get to do and see. The photo you they take when you enter of you and your family is 100% worth the 35 dollars to have it as a memento. Parking is a breeze and highway access is easy as well. I would give this aquarium 6 stars if I could, and my family and myself cannot wait to go back!
Jason J — Google review
Sad to say we feel like it wasn't what we were expecting. The tour of the whole place took us under an hour. And it was fifty one dollars per person. We do understand it's a research facility. But I think they should update their exhibits. And maybe offer a few more attractions without the extra cost. I had my first virtual reality experience, it was pretty cool. But it was at a $9 extra fee per person. The beluga whales are cool, and so are the african penguins. And the sea lion seals, but I feel like those are the only three real attractions that they had.
Royden G — Google review
This aquarium is so nice, not too big to navigate and the staff is really super friendly. I only gave 4 stars because we went during the start of the NorEaster last weekend and it was not enjoyable for my kids, unfortunately. I must add that the food at their cafe was very good - was impressed with the quality, actually. Better weather def would have made for a better experience, but a nice place to go with the fam for sure!
Jessica S — Google review
A small but phenomenal aquarium. I love it here. They work so hard to make the experience fun and engaging for everyone. The sea lions show is great for kids, but also anyone of any age. Lots of amazing fish and exhibits. They also do great work with animals that are in need of rehabilitation. We were a large group and they were super accommodating. Would 100% recommend this.
Morgan B — Google review
I visited Mystic Aquarium for the first time last summer and had such a great experience! There was no waiting line to get in, which was a huge plus. The staff members were absolutely wonderful—so friendly and helpful throughout the visit. We toured the whole aquarium and really enjoyed seeing all the exhibits. Unfortunately, we didn’t have enough time to catch one of the shows, but we did try the virtual reality experience (around $5–10 extra) and it was fantastic! Definitely worth it. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in Connecticut.

Olde Mistick Village in Stonington is a charming outdoor venue designed as a reconstructed 1720s-style Colonial village. It offers a picturesque setting with shops, boutiques, eateries, and seasonal events. Visitors can enjoy unique shopping, delicious dining options, and even catch a film. The village features bungalow-type buildings with colorful facades and colonial-style business signs, along with attractions like a water wheel in a duck-filled pond and a gazebo.
I love this place and always enjoy visiting. They have a few new stores. The location is family-friendly, quiet, and clean. You can find many unique and special items in the stores. For me, it is magical. I always bring something home that I won't find in the city. Mystic Village is a local place that brings happiness to my family.

Really cute shopping area. I like to walking around the area. It has a little park combination with the art, unique style, and vintage shop. You could spend the day here. Also it’s close next to the Mystic Aquarium.
Tammy T — Google review
This little village has been around for so many years. And every time I come visit, I’m never disappointed. The little shops are great and there are so many things to see. They have a wide variety of restaurants and dessert spots as well. They have some boutiques as well and there are places for the children to see things they like too.
Andres G — Google review
Old Mystic village is a lot of cute specialtie shops in a old type setting. It's a nice place to spend a day. But I'm myself wouldn't waste a vacation day on it.The better shops are at the bottom and there quite a few empty shops. The prices sadly are double what you would pay on Amazon on eBay..
Allan S — Google review
This open aired shopping plaza is a gem. Even though it looks like it's from the 18th century, it's actually more modern than that (built in the 1970s). It's on 19 acres; there is a duck pond, gazebo, shops, cinema, and restaurants. The walking paths are easy to navigate and pet friendly. Here are some shops that cross my mind: - Alice's Haunted Little Book Shop -Pepper Palace - Becca Rose -Cloak and Wand Restaurants: -Mango's Wood Fired Pizza -Jealous Monk We liked it so much, we went 3 times during our weekend staycation. Once was in the evening right after they closed, just to get our steps in. I love that they extended their hours during the summer. They also host events, have free parking, and restrooms throughout. We enjoyed walking through and shopping there. It's worth a visit!
Kim V — Google review
Lots of shops set in an outside mini village type atmosphere. Many restaurants for food choices, and a nice little pond in the center with water fowl. In the warmer months, there's live music in the gazebo too. Ample parking, with restrooms in a few areas.

Fun stop in Mystic! We went during the Apple Festival, which was even better! Filled with all sorts of Vendors! But lots of shops and eateries! Definitely a place to check out!
Tara P — Google review
This place has a lot of nice shops but the area is very expensive. Some shops were reasonable, others weren't. I am not paying thirty-five dollars for a t-shirt, sorry. Even teenty-five dollars is a lot, but reasonable. There are a lot of ducks at the duck pond and I always remember to see them.

Mystic Seaport Museum is a reimagined waterfront settlement that offers a glimpse into America's maritime past. With over 60 historic structures and a recreated 19th-century village, visitors can step back in time and experience life in a shipping town from over a century ago. The museum features over a dozen ships from the 19th and 20th centuries, some of which can be boarded and explored.
We (2 adults) visited on a very hot day at the beginning of the summer. I absolutely loved the feel of walking around a replica of a 19th-century fishing village. There were so many storefronts to check out and the ships were beautiful, too. This is a gem of a place and we are fortunate to have it continuing to operate after nearly a century. There was an incredible exhibit in the gallery while we were there. I truly appreciated becoming more informed about the experience of African-Americans from a 21st-century perspective. It was hot enough that day that we unfortunately didn't get to explore as much as I wanted. This is definitely a place I would love to return to, perhaps on a fall weekend.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A must-stop while visiting Mystic! I was completely surprised by how good this experience was. The museum is very kid-friendly and perfect for families. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes — it’s definitely a minimum 3-hour tour with so much to see and do. I highly recommend staying with the guides, as they make the history come alive and really enhance the experience. An unforgettable stop that I’ll be telling others about!
Thomas E — Google review
From the moment we walked inside to purchase our tickets to the time we left, Mystic Seaport Museum didn’t disappoint. The staff were very friendly! We toured most of what was offered. I think our favorite was the shipyard. It was incredibly interesting watching active restoration projects. The amount to view and experience was so much more than we realized. This was a wonderful stop for us on our New England road trip.
Michelle R — Google review
With something for everyone, Mystic Seaport Museum is a must-do vacation stop. One can see skill craftspersons in the process of restoring historic sea craft or recreating life in a seaside town in the early 1800s. Great for the whole family. Kids will especially love going on board the last wooden whaling ship the children's museum. Not into ships, history, or old architecture? Then visit in the spring and summer and see some of the most beautiful floral arrangements Ive seen in a long time.
Debra F — Google review
What a great experience for the whole family! Lots to learn! You can see ships being refurbished. And you can go onto Schooners! The historic buildings are amazing! Teaches you all about Ship Life! Places to eat and also a great gift shop!
Tara P — Google review
Really nice museum with outdoor and indoor exhibits. We paid $44/adult and $22/youth. We had an amazing time. The museum was nice, not too crowded and with nice live explanations when needed. Learning was also pleasant. Easy with kids. The outdoor area was pet friendly except inside the boats.
Lac M — Google review
This was such a fun experience! perfect for all ages and an ideal way to spend a cozy fall evening. The ambiance felt straight out of a PG-13 Halloween movie from the '90s, full of nostalgia and charm. It had that warm, festive energy of a small-town holiday market, bringing a real sense of community. Will visit again!
Jen A — Google review
Wife and I were kinda hesitant because of the price but honestly, it's pretty good value for what you experience. We visited on a late August Tuesday and while there weren't as many staff as may have been on a weekend, it was still very informative. There's a lot to see, you can easily spend most of the day here. We spent 3hrs here and while we hit many exhibits and staff demonstrations we didn't do everything possible. There are self guided buildings and many with staff educational assistance. These folks are passionate and knowledgeable about the history of Mystic seafaring history with a particular focus on whaling but there's so much to explore. You can see how people lived, shopped, ate, cooked and worked all focusing on the diversity of life around a sea community. I'd return again and try to hit the planetarium if nothing else. This is definitely worth the time.

Pizza restaurant
Mystic Pizza, located in Mystic, Connecticut, is a nostalgic spot that inspired the 1988 film of the same name. The restaurant is filled with memorabilia from the movie and vintage pictures from showbiz. It's a must-visit for fans of the cult classic film and those looking to reminisce about seaside holidays. While they embrace their tourist-fueled experience, their pizza is definitely worth trying.
Loved getting to visit Mystic Pizza in person! The staff is lovely and the decor is fabulous. The special pizza is pricey at almost forty dollars for a pie but absolutely delicious. Perfect crust and perfectly tasting ingredients. Definitely would recommend stopping by, even if you have not seen the movie! Now for my standard comments. Parking is a little tough. Can get crowded but we managed to snag a spot in the back or side lot and they said we could park there for a few minutes as we picked up our pizza. There seemed to be some comfortable indoor seating. Location is clean and well kept.
Christine L — Google review
The movie “Mystic Pizza,” gave this Pizzeria a lot of fame. Unfortunately the prices reflect that the place is for tourist$. Pizza was good, and their beer own was excellent. Service was very, very attentive and the staff is probably the best part of the experience. Lots of fun movie and celebrity stuff hanging on the walls.
Thomas E — Google review
Travelling to 10 states in 14 days we diverted to Mystic because of the movie Mystic Pizza but mostly because of the movie Mystic Christmas which showed Mystic off in a great light. We weren’t disappointed on a beautifully sunny day… great Main Street with interesting shops, the pizza, the bascule bridge, the river, the houses and at that time of year the Halloween decorations. Bliss 🥰
Guy M — Google review
We ordered the Mystic Pizza lager, cheese bread and a small pepperoni pizza. I am spoiled living in Detroit so this pizza was just alright for me and let's be real - we came for the experience! The service was great, even at the gift shop. This restaurant is adorable and their menu provides a great story of how they have expanded because of the film. If I'm ever in town again, I would definitely come back!
Danielle L — Google review
Great gluten free dough and regular dough!! We stopped in around 6pm and were quickly seated upstairs. The atmosphere was very pizza shop—-large wooden tables, Mystic Pizza playing on the TV and photos of the movie and celebrities. We ordered the garden salad. It was plenty big enough to split for 2-3 people. We each got the small pizza in pepperoni. The gluten free crust was tasty, it had a nice buttery flavor and good texture. The regular pizza I asked for it to be well done so that it had crispy pepperoni, which it did. It was oozing with cheese, but wasn’t super heavy and a perfect amount of sauce with a nice flavor. We each had a glass of wine, which was priced from $8-10 each. The server was really friendly and stopped by several times to check on us. Overall a lovely experience! We would definitely return.
Monica Y — Google review
The gf pizza was delicious! I ordered a gf pepperoni pizza and loved the sauce, the cheese, pepperoni - and CRUST! It was crispy and tasty! We had a dinner salad with parmesean peppercorn dressing - also very tasty! Overall, the food, the service and atmosphere were all wonderful at Mystic Pizza! Recommend!
Carla R — Google review
There was a wait to get a table but we snagged two seats at the upstairs bar right away. Bartender was friendly and took our order right away. We ordered a large pizza with mushrooms and pepperoni. Perfect amount of sauce, cheese and toppings. The sauce had a unique taste. It wasn’t like regular pizza sauce had more flavor. Can’t really describe There was two of us so we couldn’t finish the entire pizza would definitely come back.
Nancy R — Google review
Since we were in Mystic for one night it felt like we had to go to Mystic Pizza for dinner. The food was good. The only issue I had was the fans upstairs made the lights seem almost strobe like. It gave me a bit of a headache. That said it was still great food and the service was excellent.

Argia Mystic Cruises offers a unique maritime experience in the coastal village of Mystic. Guests can explore the area's scenic coastline, nearby islands, and historic landmarks aboard the 81-foot classic wooden schooner, ARGIA. With a knowledgeable crew manning the ship, passengers can relax on the spacious deck while learning about maritime history.
Such a wonderful and relaxing cruise. The crew is top notch and really knows their history on landmarks along the way. The only thing that I just want to share...when picking your seats, if you pick A5 or A6 it looks like on the seating chart that you have a space between. This is not so, made for a bit of a challenge for us and the guest we sat next to. It worked out in the end but just be aware.
Cheri B — Google review
This was a real treat! My husband and I booked a sunset sail. The group is small and the ship is easily accessible; we had a few people on board with disabilities and they had no problem, there's parking nearby and just a short walk down the dock and the gangway to the schooner. The captain and crew were friendly, well-informed, and honestly very impressive! We got a mix of fun local history and time to mingle with other passengers. The accommodations were very comfortable and we had an absolutely lovely sail. Highly recommend if you're in the area and want a chill, fun sail! Good vibes all around.
Linda G — Google review
Would highly recommend!!!! It was a wonderful ride! The staff were funny and knowledgeable, and it was a relaxing cruise! My husband got to hoist one of the sails, which he said was so cool! We did the sunset cruise, so there were some drunk people on board. But they stayed on the other side of the boat and didn’t bother us at all, we just got to sit back and enjoy the ride(and the beauty of God’s creation) 😊 also!! We thoroughly enjoyed hearing the history of North Dumpling! 😂

Wanted to do something different while on vacation in Mystic, CT and decided to go on the Argia sailboat. It was a great time with super friendly and knowledgeable crew. Loved the whole experience! Would definitely recommend to anyone who loves the water!!
Shelley C — Google review
We discovered the Argia walking across the famous Mystic Drawbridge. Information for ticket purchases and sailings were priminently displayed. We were able to purchase tickets for that day's sailing. The sailing was full; however I really appreciated the organization and the booking process which gave us the opportunity to choose our seats. The crew were excellent. We had a succinct safety talk and narration along the way- which consisted of a motored tour of the Mystic River and a sail near Fishers Island. Lemonade was complimentary. Bring a jacket and sunscreen.

Unforgettable Sailing Experience! I had an amazing time aboard the Argia Mystic Cruise! The schooner is absolutely beautiful and so well-maintained. The crew was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and made everyone feel welcome. We sailed through gorgeous coastal views, learned about the history of the area, and had plenty of time to relax and enjoy the breeze. It was peaceful, scenic, and truly a unique experience. Perfect for couples, families, or even solo travelers looking to unwind. Highly recommend! can’t wait to go again!
Samudra N — Google review
I had taken the sunset cruise with family and it was a fantastic time! The crew were very knowledgeable about the area and gave little facts and fun information about some of the islands. It was great being out on the water and the sights were just incredible! I really recommend it as this is a great way to spend a couple of hours and see some of the neat activities Connecticut has to offer!

Go go go!! Wonderful crew and overall fabulous cruise. Can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed this experience. Captain Jack, Nolan and James were friendly and professional. The boat was beautiful! Sunset cruise was so perfect. Didn’t notice many people tipping the staff so that was disappointing since they did such a great job!!

Kitchen Little is an American eatery known for its breakfast favorites and seafood dishes. The restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere with the option to dine on the patio while enjoying views of the marina. Previously located near the Seaport, Kitchen Little has now moved to Mason's Island, providing a larger seating area and even more spectacular views. Rumor has it that Dave Grohl from Foo Fighters once enjoyed brunch at this popular spot.
Drove from Long Island to have a fun trip to Mystic with my wife and her cousin. We had a great breakfast. The hosts and employees were all kind and awesome. We definitely recommend to visit here for breakfast and seeing the boats and waterfront.

I had a nice brunch here with my family. We ordered coffee, pineapple juice, Eggs Benedict with tomatoes and avocado, a Rueben Omelette, Buttermilk Pancakes with strawberries and blueberries, and a custom omelette with turkey sausage, red onions, Swiss cheese, and avocado. The food was alright, but it was not particularly impressive or high quality. The service was fine for the most part, but it was a bit hectic in the beginning. When I arrived, I had multiple hostesses and waitresses coming up to me asking about the size of our party. However, they seated us quickly despite how busy it was. The atmosphere was pleasant, and the location is great, which plenty of parking and a nice view of the Mystic River Marina.

This was a perfect place to grab some breakfast while visiting the Mystic area. Although the wait time was around 35 minutes, the food was absolutely delicious. My hope is that they add an outside coffee and Mimosa bar to ease the wait time. I'd recommend the grits and Cajun shrimp with the corn bread. I think the host was my favorite character. Keep up the good work here at kitchen little.

Just had what might be the best Eggs Benedict I’ve ever tasted — and that’s saying a lot! I ordered the lobster Benedict, and every bite was phenomenal. The lobster was fresh, sweet, and generously portioned, and the hollandaise was rich without being overpowering — perfectly balanced. The waterfront view made it even better. Sitting out on the deck, watching the boats while sipping coffee and enjoying a top-tier breakfast felt like such a treat. The service was friendly and fast, and the vibe is laid-back but full of charm. If you’re anywhere near Mystic, don’t miss Kitchen Little. It’s a perfect brunch spot with unforgettable food and coastal New England ambiance. I’m already dreaming about going back!

Fun atmosphere, super friendly staff. They have some unique breakfast options along with the usual fare. There was a bit of a wait, outside, not ideal when you're at a marina and it's cold and windy. It's also a bit on the pricey side, but quality wise, you get what you pay for.

The Charles W. Morgan, the oldest surviving American commercial vessel and the only wooden whaling ship still in existence, is a key attraction at the Marine Historical Association. This living history museum offers visitors the chance to interact with docents demonstrating various trades from the past. In addition to boarding the Charles W. Morgan, guests can also explore other historic vessels such as the LA Dunton and Joseph Conrad.
Excellent! So much history preserved in this wooden ship. Something other than a warship saved for future generations to tour and understand. The staff are friendly and informed. A demonstration of launching a whale boat from the ship is performed, and visitors are encouraged to "man the ropes" in pulling it back onboard. The ship ties into the other building on the seaport. A barrel maker (cooper) and blacksmith work in the local building and their efforts support the restoration of the ship and the historically restored buildings.

Isabel F — Google review
Well worth the trip to Mystic, CT from anywhere in Massachusetts, Connecticut or Rhode Island, the Mystic Seaport Maritime Museum is a full day adventure at a multiple national historic site. (The many-acre museum is not only one, but contains three ships that are, individually, national historic sites themselves. The Charles W. Morgan is the last wooden whaling ship in the world that is not only magnificently restored, but well staffed by highly knowledgeable docents that bring its history and functions to life. On the opposite side of the grounds, be sure to take at least a 30 minute ride on the Mystic River on the S.S. Sabino steam ship, another national historic site. (Rides vary between 30 minutes and 2-1/2 hours, depending upon time of day; the Sabino is quickly reached through the Seaport's south entrance.) Docents can be found throughout the grounds, sharing oral histories in the recreated whaling village buildings and businesses. Visits can take between 2-1/2 to 6 hours, so reserving a room in one of the nearby hotels is recommended.

History was made during the summer of 2014 when Mystic Seaport Museum took the last remaining wooden whaleship in the world back to sea. Following a five-year restoration, the Charles W. Morgan sailed on her 38th Voyage to New England ports-of-call, raising awareness of America’s maritime heritage and calling attention to issues of ocean sustainability and conservation.

Park
Williams Beach Park is a small beachfront park in Mystic where locals and visitors can go swimming or picnic. It has a playground and sports field for football / soccer, which makes it great for families. It's not monitored by lifeguards, but it's free and an excellent place to enjoy Mystic's beaches.
Despite the fact that this isn’t a beach open to the sea (no waves for example) it’s extremely family friendly. It’s in front of a Y center and I think you need a membership in theory but we spent 2 hours there during our road trip and nobody bothered us. Plus I was able to use the restroom in the Y (btw very clean). Thankful for the Y’s hospitality 😊
Mitra C — Google review
The beach is rocky (lots of pebbles as you approach the water) and it's not beautiful, in the way you want a beach to be. Having said that, it's a perfect, local beach to bring the kids if you live close. It was in walking distance from where we were staying - so it was awesome to walk to instead of driving to other beaches. Other positives: there is a playground right there, a baseball field and a YMCA (if you're a member). So, bring the family, get a workout and swim in and then hit the playground.
Kris K — Google review
Nice quiet beach for small ones. Nice little playground and easy parking. Porta potties were clean as well. What a lovely place
Brian K — Google review
I'm hoping this was an isolated incident and maybe due to the time of year, but I'm visiting from out of town via train (so no car) and decided to walk to the beach from my lodging when I was told by 2 YMCA staff that it was a private beach and I couldn't stay. It appears from other reviews that this isn't the case. Perhaps the staff was misinformed, in which case please educate your staff so that all visitors can feel welcome in this public space.

Perfect place for young kids. I took my kids here last week and they were so happy and already swimming in May. The water was so warm. They have a park and playground here as well, and a port a potty near by just in case! Close parking. Not sure how crowded it gets in the summer but we had a blast playing in the sand and catching sea snails. Bring water shoes though because the rocks can be tough on the little guys feet!
Stephanie G — Google review
Fun place to take the kids. There is a play ground area for them. The parking lot is located at the community center that has lots of amenities such as an indoor basketball court, indoor pool, fitness equipment, lockers and showers. The "beach" itself is a small area, the sand is not ideal for castles because the consistency is more like mud. The water is very rocky so precaution needs to be taken when walking in the water, water shoes are ideal. There are bigger rocks as well and the water is a bit murky so can be hard to be seen.

The lobster roll was absolutely amazing! The generous portion of lobster was overflowing from the roll, making every bite rich and satisfying. The service was just as impressive—everyone on the team had a warm and welcoming attitude, creating a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommend!

The ONLY restaurant we ate at during our family vacation. And it was not the wrong choice! Service was great! The server checked on us multiple times, making sure drinks were filled and we didn't need anything. The food... the food was all fantastic! We ordered multiple apps and all had different meals, EVERYTHING was delicious! It wasn't overly crowded, but we were there a little early. We also sat outside, which was nice and covered. We had 5 children with us too, and they were happy playing at the outside entertainment area. The price was VERY reasonable. We had 9 ppl, and with a few drinks and the apps, less than 200. Would 100% eat there again.

Typical American restaurant with a nice big lawn filled with lawn games for the little ones. The food here was mid at best. The chicken wings and ribs were definitely overcooked and super dry… the steak was on the saltier side. The pastas were just okay. The best thing we had were surprisingly, the French fries.

Mackenzie was awesome!! Just wanted to say that first!! We learned about this place from another server at a different restaurant which was also amazing. This was one of the highlights of our visit. The food was incredible in the service McKenzie provided was excellent. She was very friendly, helpful with the menu items, and it was just an all-around fun visit. Looks like they have a lot to do there if the patio is open. Some outside games and just a great atmosphere with a beachy feel. We both had the fish and chips which was probably the best ever. Don't miss this incredible hot spot in Mystic!!❤️🤩🥰

Went for a mid-afternoon lunch and we were able to quickly get seated. I had the fish tacos which are made with cod. Not much fish and a lot of salsa which soaked into the tortilla making it impossible to pick up. If you aren’t a fan of soggy bread, I suggest you order another meal. My husband enjoyed his fish sandwich. He had it accompanied by a generous side salad. Between the two restaurants, I prefer the Stonington menu over this one.

Some places feed you, and some places feed your soul. Dog Watch Mystic does both. From the moment you step in, you can feel the easy hum of the harbor. Boats sway just beyond the deck in the near distance, gulls call overhead, and the salty breeze wraps around you like an old friend. The staff treats you the same way... welcoming, genuine, and quick to share a smile. I was lucky enough to be taken care of by Riann, whose warmth and kindness made the experience even better. She’s the kind of person who makes you feel like an old friend, not just a guest... and our conversation was every bit as good as the meal. Speaking of the meal… my lobster roll was cooked to perfection... the kind of fresh that tastes like it came straight off a boat and onto my plate. Every bite carried that perfect blend of flavor and freshness, and it’s the kind of food you can’t stop thinking about afterward. And the coconut shrimp!! Amazing!! I can’t wait to go back... not just for the view, but for more of their wonderful food, the sea air, and a good conversation with Riann. Dog Watch Mystic is pure Mystic magic.

Rolled in on a Friday night with our one-year-old, and the place was hopping — mostly with retirees who looked like they’ve been coming here since Nixon was in office. Everyone was super friendly, which made me feel slightly guilty for what I’m about to say next. Ordered the “brisket,” which was really just pot roast wearing a brisket costume and hoping no one would notice. I did. My taste buds filed a formal complaint. Easily the worst brisket I’ve ever had. Mac and cheese? Glorious. Cornbread? Solid. Mashed potatoes? Sad. Like, “forgot to salt them and then apologized with a pat of butter” sad. Beer list was aggressively average. I got a local brew in a can, which felt like a passive-aggressive dare. Overall: lovely people, meh food, and a brisket that needs therapy.

We love to dine at the Dog Watch. The food is always amazing and the staff is friendly. Lizzy was our waitress and she made sure we were taken care of and even chatted with us. I took my wife out for her birthday and we started with two glasses of Sangria. I had the Poke Bowl and my wife had the Salad Pizza which were fantastic. The Poke was right up there with what I had in Hawaii and the Pizza was so good even covered with mixed greens. The blend of ingredients was delicious.

Fantastic Movie Experience! My family and I had a wonderful time at Mystic Luxury Cinema for the 20th-anniversary showing of Pride and Prejudice. The seating was excellent, and we really appreciated the seat heating feature, which added to the comfort. The selection of food and drinks was also impressive and delicious. The cinema's location in the village is perfect – cozy and convenient. We also loved the nice decorations and found the staff to be very friendly. It was a highlight of our staycation in Mystic!

I purchased tickets March 13 for a 2 o’clock showing on April 6, only to be told that manager Lorraine booked a birthday party. I have never been to a more unprofessionally run movie theater in my entire life. And I have worked for a movie theater company for decades and not once did we ever do anything like this to customers! They don’t offer a refund they try to give you a free pass to come in for another time. Here’s a thing I have about 12 of these free passes and every time my son and I go to use them we can’t. My son also has had two $50 gift cards that never seem to work when we go so beware that if you buy a gift card from these places, they don’t even know how to work those. I have furthermore told family members and friends. Please don’t keep buying him for his birthday anymore movie theater gift cards from this movie theater because they don’t work and we wind up paying out-of-pocket. I used to hold this movie theater. In such high regards since the man I met Bill who is part owner of this theater. Is the most wonderful man ever. It’s just disappointing the people he has running. It are absolutely horrendous. I have purchased another ticket for Thursday’s show and I hope that I don’t get a runaround that they booked another kids birthday party. I will say I felt bad for the workers there who had to tell everybody this because it was not their fault and people really shouldn’t get mad at the workers because the management was so greedy to cancel an entire show that people booked four weeks in advance to see only to be turned away and have to go to a later show and then stand a chance of not getting the same seat that you purchased. So we returned for the 630 show only to be told now we have to wait because the party is going over in time. Do these people realize that others have to work in the morning and we’re accommodating for a stupid birthday party? Furthermore, the staff there was talking badly about management and I don’t blame them management left them in the lurch. It’s sad that the stupid little stunt that they pulled yesterday is gonna cost them a lot of loyal patrons. My entire family and friends in this area will be sure to inform all.

We love this theater! The seats are heated and super comfortable. The trays have drink holders. The aisles are wide enough that people can pass while the chairs are reclined. The movies they show are excellent and shown on time. The staff are friendly, polite, and competent. The popcorn is delicious! The theater and restrooms are clean. We come here often and will continue to do so. Keep up the good work!
Laura A — Google review
Picture is bright, sound is crisp and loud. Theater is clean and looks new. Concession includes good popcorn but in smaller containers than the bigger chains. Extended concession menu available, like chicken fingers, as well as a beer and wine license. Cinema 3 is the best, 1 is nice, 2 is smaller. Seats are comfortable for the most part except the movable trays limit the amount of space to get out of the seat for wider bodies.
Cliff ( — Google review
I took my child to a movie today, I gave him some cash and told him to grab a popcorn and that I would be right there. He went up to a younger girl who looked lost, maybe she is new and he told her a small popcorn. She said, $8.50. I said no he wants a mini. She actually told me "he said small,' and I thought to myself, seriously? Okay, no problem. So I said, mini, again. Since they were popping popcorn, we asked for it from the popper. She relayed this info to the young man and they both were so annoyed that we asked this request, that it was as if I told them that something awful happened! The young man storms to the back and gives my kid a bag that wasn't even fully filled. It cost five dollars too, and it used to be $4.50. He was really rude and couldn't even politely give it to us. Its cool if your mean to me, but being completely unprofessionally to a child under 10 is just wrong. It wasn't crowded. I don't understand why this place continues to hire people who have no people skills whatsoever. I have been here before more than a few times and the turnover seems to be often. The lady with the braids is lovely. The bald dude at night is also always angry, and thankfully I don't go at night anymore. The younger staff is just miserable. I read about the "gen z stare' and in this case, this is face to face customer service for $16 an hour and free movies. Sign me up! There should be no excuse. It's an easy job. I did it many, many years ago. It can be stressful during a rush but there was only four other people in the lobby. I have experienced this with many of the younger staff here, and I am going to give up going here. It makes me sad and frustrated. However, I am at my wits end. I want to support local businesses but I cannot do so anymore until this theater hires people with better customer service skills. I know they can because they done so in the past. The younger staff who work here are rude, mean, unattentive, ignores customers and just do not care. They are either chatting in the back while there is a line or glued to their phones. I came here one night last summer and the employees were lying on the lounges located in the lobby while watching stuff on their phones. The same night, I wanted a soda well before closing time, only to the find not one employee in the lobby. It was odd. The bottom lines is I am sick and tired of coming here and being treated as an inconvenience to most of the staff. Perhaps that is why they don't wear name tags? Their HR department needs to hire people who likes movies and at least try to be pleasant. The theater is nice besides that, it really needs a proper cleaning though. I dropped my keys under the seat and it had old candy and popcorn under it. I believe it was the first showing of the day too. Those heated seats are great though! If you do need to go to concessions, make sure you go someone who looks like they want to work there.
Marie S — Google review
We recently visited this theater and had a frustrating and disappointing experience. We purchased our tickets about 25 minutes before the showtime listed, then waited in a visible seating area while having popcorn. When about 10 minutes went by, we went into the assigned theater — only to find that the movie had already been playing for quite some time, which left us confused. We asked a staff member about what was going on and he told us the movie was actually playing in a different auditorium, and we showed him our tickets. Once inside the other theater, we realized the issue: we had been sold tickets for the other showing that was already well underway at the time of purchase. Our seats were no longer valid, and the only remaining options were in the very front rows — not suitable for my boyfriend, who has a herniated disc and cannot sit comfortably that close to the screen. It was clear we had not intentionally bought tickets for a movie already in progress- yet a staff member insisted they assumed we knew there were “long previews.” That assumption was both incorrect and unprofessional. There was no explanation or clarification given at the time of purchase, and this mistake was entirely on the theater. We asked for a refund given the circumstances, but were told it wasn’t possible and were only offered movie passes. On top of that, as I was walking away, I overheard a male staff member behind the counter say, “This is why you don’t purchase movie tickets early.” That comment was completely inappropriate. We purchased early specifically to ensure good seating for someone with a medical condition- not to be met with sarcasm after being misled. This experience was deeply disappointing, especially on what was supposed to be a fun birthday outing. The mistake should have been acknowledged and resolved respectfully, not brushed off with excuses and inappropriate remarks.

Such a charming place. We love that they have reclining/heated seats. Their prices are more reasonable than the chain theaters, and I’m not sure if he still has an active presence there, but the owner used to bring his dog in. He also took me and a friend on an impromptu tour of the projector room and explained the mechanics of the old reel projector in the foyer.

I can't thank Mystic Cycle Centre enough! I came in fully expecting to leave my bike for weeks—or be told it wasn’t worth fixing. Instead, I asked if there was anything they could do on the spot, and they got right to work. In about 30 minutes, they fixed my brakes and gear shifter—issues I’d been ignoring for over 10 years. I feel like this is a three and a half. Sure, it was fun going through Mystic, but the prices were just way too high. I know it's scenic and Connecticut, but t-shirts shouldn't cost thirty-five dollars and simple paper weights were nearly twenty dollars. It's not a bad historic site at all with the bridge and a few parts (I posted pictures of the bridge in its own section), but the stores are overly glamorous and high-priced. It is all fancy clothes and higher end objects. Mystic Village is more reasonable, but they are even pretty high priced.

Cute shoppe that donates up to 50% of their net profits to Save the Elephants and other charitable causes. So if you love elephants as I do, it’s a decent place to drop some cash. Mostly tee shirts, sweatshirts, sleep and lounge, a few accessories and home items. Not inexpensive though. Quality is good.

Stopped here originally because my sister has always loved elephants. Now when I went in they had a cute selection that I bought not only for my sister but for me to. Not a huge selection but enough to find something cute. The staff was helpful and I also got a red ivory Ella reusable tote when I bought stuff there. I love when businesses give back. Makes you feel better about spending your money. Ok this is the first year I attended their warehouse sale in Rhode Island . We arrived and thought oh no how do we get in, my boyfriend in power wheelchair and only steps. Someone from the factory let us in the back way so we could shop. Walked us all the way to the other side and made sure we were well taken care of. There was people everywhere, buying like crazy. It was quite a sight, but it was quick and easy and lots of products. Super cute. The prices couldn't be beat. Totally worth all the effort. There were tons of cashier's so we didn't have to wait in line forever. Started on a Wednesday,we went Friday. Although by then things were in different bins and all unorganized but if you don't mind sifting through products,a must.

Cute items and I wanted to make a purchase of over $250 but had to leave because they wouldn't let me 3 year old daughtwr use the bathroom. I really liked the tie dye hoodies and the flower elephant tanks, but took my business elsewhere.

Great stuff! Even better cause, helping the elephants. My wife loves this place!

Beautiful store in downtown Mystic close to the drawbridge. Elephant themed clothing in every color you can imagine. Locally owned. Very friendly customer service!

The young man who helped me was very sparkly and kind. I found what I needed, with his help, quickly. Will go back again.

Love their products! Bit costly but quality items and some proceeds go to the elephants!!
