Mystic Aquarium is a popular interactive aquarium featuring a variety of marine life, including beluga whales, African penguins, sea lions, and sharks. The aquarium offers unique exhibits such as Steller sea lions and beluga whales that are rarely seen in other parts of the country. Visitors can also explore the Olde Mistick Village in Stonington for dining, shopping, and entertainment options.
It was a fantastic experience. It's a bit pricey, but when you consider the amount of animals they take care of, you get it. It was $82 just for my child and I to get in, to give you a perspective. I loved the Beluga whales, the seal show was adorable and the indoor gallery area was a fun experience. The keepers located throughout were very informative and gladly answered any and all questions. I highly recommend this aquarium.
Naughty L — Google review
Mystic Aquarium is an excellent spot for children, especially between the ages of 4 and early teens. The exhibits are engaging, and the attractions they do have are very well done. The sea lion show is free, fun, and worth planning around—just make sure to check the schedule ahead of time. Since it’s outdoors, you’ll also want to be mindful of the weather. While I was a little disappointed with the overall size of the aquarium, what’s here is high quality. Be prepared though—most extras cost money, so definitely bring your wallet. With more funding and awareness, this place has the potential to grow into an even larger attraction. Overall, it’s still a great family experience and well worth a visit.
Thomas E — Google review
Fantastic experience at the Mystic Aquarium. It is a lot smaller than I expected and the majority of the exhibitions are outdoors so thankfully, we choose the perfect sunny day to visit. Our highlights were seeing the Beluga whales swimming about outside and seeing the sea turtle inside. We also loved that they had a Del's Lemonade stand by the gift shop. A lovely little treat on our way out. Definitely a fantastic experience with the family. Now for my standard comments. Parking is plentiful out front and free. Location is well kept and clean. Very comfortable walking outside assuming the weather is good. Indoor exhibits never got too crazy, at least during the time that we were there.
Christine L — Google review
Where do I begin, this Aquarium is the best I've been to. The staff are all so friendly, and care so much about each and every animal in the facility. They have staff stationed at the enclosures in case you have any questions on a particular animal or exhibit, and they are so knowlegable. The Beluga whales are so cool, and almost seem like they interact with anyone who's at the glass and seeing everything they do for them is a bonus! The Main gallery has so many different tanks with all kinds of aquatic life and detailed plaques on each one, with any information you might want to know about a specific species. They even have not one.. but two touch tanks! This Aquarium is the perfect spot for a family day trip, the staff at the touch tanks were so friendly making sure any kid that wanted to participate was allowed the opportunity to do so and the layout was so cool to walk through. The pricing is extremely fair for what you get to do and see. The photo you they take when you enter of you and your family is 100% worth the 35 dollars to have it as a memento. Parking is a breeze and highway access is easy as well. I would give this aquarium 6 stars if I could, and my family and myself cannot wait to go back!
Jason J — Google review
I had the opportunity to visit this famous aquarium last Friday, and the pictures do not do it justice….it was an incredible experience! I saw the Beluga whales, along with so many fish and other animals, including a turtle. I learned lots about the Amazon rainforest, too. I also highly recommend going to the sea lion show; it was awesome! The show is included with your admission, so make sure you check the times so you don’t miss out. I recommend heading over to the show early so you get good seats. Not to mention that all of the staff were so friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. You can tell how much they love their job, and they really go above and beyond to make sure everyone has a great experience! This aquarium is the best one I have been to by far and definitely a must do if you’re in the area! If only I could give it ten stars…..
Laura H — Google review
Sad to say we feel like it wasn't what we were expecting. The tour of the whole place took us under an hour. And it was fifty one dollars per person. We do understand it's a research facility. But I think they should update their exhibits. And maybe offer a few more attractions without the extra cost. I had my first virtual reality experience, it was pretty cool. But it was at a $9 extra fee per person. The beluga whales are cool, and so are the african penguins. And the sea lion seals, but I feel like those are the only three real attractions that they had.
Royden G — Google review
Relatively small but nice aquarium. Easy to navigate and many different types of aquatic life to view. Great place for kid’s with a lot of interactive areas. Being a Monday, it was super easy to get in, around and out of.
Ryan B — Google review
This aquarium is so nice, not too big to navigate and the staff is really super friendly. I only gave 4 stars because we went during the start of the NorEaster last weekend and it was not enjoyable for my kids, unfortunately. I must add that the food at their cafe was very good - was impressed with the quality, actually. Better weather def would have made for a better experience, but a nice place to go with the fam for sure!

Mystic Seaport Museum is a reimagined waterfront settlement that offers a glimpse into America's maritime past. With over 60 historic structures and a recreated 19th-century village, visitors can step back in time and experience life in a shipping town from over a century ago. The museum features over a dozen ships from the 19th and 20th centuries, some of which can be boarded and explored.
We (2 adults) visited on a very hot day at the beginning of the summer. I absolutely loved the feel of walking around a replica of a 19th-century fishing village. There were so many storefronts to check out and the ships were beautiful, too. This is a gem of a place and we are fortunate to have it continuing to operate after nearly a century. There was an incredible exhibit in the gallery while we were there. I truly appreciated becoming more informed about the experience of African-Americans from a 21st-century perspective. It was hot enough that day that we unfortunately didn't get to explore as much as I wanted. This is definitely a place I would love to return to, perhaps on a fall weekend.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A must-stop while visiting Mystic! I was completely surprised by how good this experience was. The museum is very kid-friendly and perfect for families. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes — it’s definitely a minimum 3-hour tour with so much to see and do. I highly recommend staying with the guides, as they make the history come alive and really enhance the experience. An unforgettable stop that I’ll be telling others about!
Thomas E — Google review
From the moment we walked inside to purchase our tickets to the time we left, Mystic Seaport Museum didn’t disappoint. The staff were very friendly! We toured most of what was offered. I think our favorite was the shipyard. It was incredibly interesting watching active restoration projects. The amount to view and experience was so much more than we realized. This was a wonderful stop for us on our New England road trip.
Michelle R — Google review
With something for everyone, Mystic Seaport Museum is a must-do vacation stop. One can see skill craftspersons in the process of restoring historic sea craft or recreating life in a seaside town in the early 1800s. Great for the whole family. Kids will especially love going on board the last wooden whaling ship the children's museum. Not into ships, history, or old architecture? Then visit in the spring and summer and see some of the most beautiful floral arrangements Ive seen in a long time.
Debra F — Google review
What a great experience for the whole family! Lots to learn! You can see ships being refurbished. And you can go onto Schooners! The historic buildings are amazing! Teaches you all about Ship Life! Places to eat and also a great gift shop!
Tara P — Google review
We had an incredible day with family at Mystic Seaport Museum and honestly did almost everything there was to do. The whole place is such a vibe, full of history, craftsmanship, and surprises around every corner. One of the highlights was catching the fireboat with its hoses on full blast—something we learned doesn’t happen very often. We watched the blacksmith at work, explored the cooperage, wandered through the historic ships, and soaked in the magic of this living museum by the water. We spent way more time there than planned and still didn’t see it all. Mystic Seaport is truly one of those places that keeps you discovering more at every turn.
Marisa B — Google review
Really nice museum with outdoor and indoor exhibits. We paid $44/adult and $22/youth. We had an amazing time. The museum was nice, not too crowded and with nice live explanations when needed. Learning was also pleasant. Easy with kids. The outdoor area was pet friendly except inside the boats.
Lac M — Google review
This was such a fun experience! perfect for all ages and an ideal way to spend a cozy fall evening. The ambiance felt straight out of a PG-13 Halloween movie from the '90s, full of nostalgia and charm. It had that warm, festive energy of a small-town holiday market, bringing a real sense of community. Will visit again!

Olde Mistick Village in Stonington is a charming outdoor venue designed as a reconstructed 1720s-style Colonial village. It offers a picturesque setting with shops, boutiques, eateries, and seasonal events. Visitors can enjoy unique shopping, delicious dining options, and even catch a film. The village features bungalow-type buildings with colorful facades and colonial-style business signs, along with attractions like a water wheel in a duck-filled pond and a gazebo.
I love this place and always enjoy visiting. They have a few new stores. The location is family-friendly, quiet, and clean. You can find many unique and special items in the stores. For me, it is magical. I always bring something home that I won't find in the city. Mystic Village is a local place that brings happiness to my family.

Really cute shopping area. I like to walking around the area. It has a little park combination with the art, unique style, and vintage shop. You could spend the day here. Also it’s close next to the Mystic Aquarium.
Tammy T — Google review
This little village has been around for so many years. And every time I come visit, I’m never disappointed. The little shops are great and there are so many things to see. They have a wide variety of restaurants and dessert spots as well. They have some boutiques as well and there are places for the children to see things they like too.
Andres G — Google review
Old Mystic village is a lot of cute specialtie shops in a old type setting. It's a nice place to spend a day. But I'm myself wouldn't waste a vacation day on it.The better shops are at the bottom and there quite a few empty shops. The prices sadly are double what you would pay on Amazon on eBay..
Allan S — Google review
This open aired shopping plaza is a gem. Even though it looks like it's from the 18th century, it's actually more modern than that (built in the 1970s). It's on 19 acres; there is a duck pond, gazebo, shops, cinema, and restaurants. The walking paths are easy to navigate and pet friendly. Here are some shops that cross my mind: - Alice's Haunted Little Book Shop -Pepper Palace - Becca Rose -Cloak and Wand Restaurants: -Mango's Wood Fired Pizza -Jealous Monk We liked it so much, we went 3 times during our weekend staycation. Once was in the evening right after they closed, just to get our steps in. I love that they extended their hours during the summer. They also host events, have free parking, and restrooms throughout. We enjoyed walking through and shopping there. It's worth a visit!
Kim V — Google review
Lots of shops set in an outside mini village type atmosphere. Many restaurants for food choices, and a nice little pond in the center with water fowl. In the warmer months, there's live music in the gazebo too. Ample parking, with restrooms in a few areas.

Fun stop in Mystic! We went during the Apple Festival, which was even better! Filled with all sorts of Vendors! But lots of shops and eateries! Definitely a place to check out!
Tara P — Google review
This place has a lot of nice shops but the area is very expensive. Some shops were reasonable, others weren't. I am not paying thirty-five dollars for a t-shirt, sorry. Even teenty-five dollars is a lot, but reasonable. There are a lot of ducks at the duck pond and I always remember to see them.

Cool nature center including Live animals in big cages outside, including owls, Hawks and ospreys. Along with the great selection of animals inside between live. And taxidermy really good activity 4 adults and children alike. After you see the exhibit, you can choose to hike one of the many trails around the nature center

There is so much to see and do here! We easily spent a couple hours here while visiting Mystic on a chilly day. There are a lot of exhibits for kids to interact with indoors, a listening room that tells the story of nighttime and helps kids learn about different animal sounds, live turtles, a snake, and frogs, all inside. Everything is very educational and well-thought out. Outside there are some gorgeous birds that have disabilities, so they are living their best lives here. There are beautiful walking trails with ponds and creeks, giant boulders, and a beautiful meadow. The staff is very helpful and friendly. This place is affordable and definitely worth a visit!
Em R — Google review
Wow! We saw no other guests and wandered all over. Lovely animals and interactive displays inside, a few raptors outside. The 4 yr old loved the bunny hopping freely inside. They honor blue star families, but regular admission is $8 for adults, less for kids. Picnic area at entry, inside, and benches scattered along paths. You could managed a wheeled chair, but some paths are heavily root-filled. Board walks, swamps, ponds, forest...we have to go back when the kids can walk longer on a hot hot day. Mosquitoes can be pesky. Loved it!
Barbara B — Google review
Very interesting nature area with great volunteers helping out. Mushroom festival was very busy, but it was a fun enjoyable and learning day. Food options were interesting and dealt with the crowd admirably.

We were looking to kill some time in Mystic for the day and found this great little spot. Spent about 45 minutes there and it was well worth it.

Great place to bring children to learn about local wildlife and conservation! Several walking paths and a very special presentation inside the main building!

We love visiting here! Many interactive exhibits which educate visitors about wildlife and habitats in Connecticut. They've added an Early Childhood learning room, perfect for littles! We saw lots of frogs, fish and turtles in the pond outside. Hiking trails are easy, especially the ones around the pond. The trails connect with the trails at Coogan Farm. The Farm Trail was quite overgrown. Be mindful of poison ivy as well as ticks.

Pizza restaurant
Mystic Pizza, located in Mystic, Connecticut, is a nostalgic spot that inspired the 1988 film of the same name. The restaurant is filled with memorabilia from the movie and vintage pictures from showbiz. It's a must-visit for fans of the cult classic film and those looking to reminisce about seaside holidays. While they embrace their tourist-fueled experience, their pizza is definitely worth trying.
Loved getting to visit Mystic Pizza in person! The staff is lovely and the decor is fabulous. The special pizza is pricey at almost forty dollars for a pie but absolutely delicious. Perfect crust and perfectly tasting ingredients. Definitely would recommend stopping by, even if you have not seen the movie! Now for my standard comments. Parking is a little tough. Can get crowded but we managed to snag a spot in the back or side lot and they said we could park there for a few minutes as we picked up our pizza. There seemed to be some comfortable indoor seating. Location is clean and well kept.
Christine L — Google review
The movie “Mystic Pizza,” gave this Pizzeria a lot of fame. Unfortunately the prices reflect that the place is for tourist$. Pizza was good, and their beer own was excellent. Service was very, very attentive and the staff is probably the best part of the experience. Lots of fun movie and celebrity stuff hanging on the walls.
Thomas E — Google review
Travelling to 10 states in 14 days we diverted to Mystic because of the movie Mystic Pizza but mostly because of the movie Mystic Christmas which showed Mystic off in a great light. We weren’t disappointed on a beautifully sunny day… great Main Street with interesting shops, the pizza, the bascule bridge, the river, the houses and at that time of year the Halloween decorations. Bliss 🥰
Guy M — Google review
We ordered the Mystic Pizza lager, cheese bread and a small pepperoni pizza. I am spoiled living in Detroit so this pizza was just alright for me and let's be real - we came for the experience! The service was great, even at the gift shop. This restaurant is adorable and their menu provides a great story of how they have expanded because of the film. If I'm ever in town again, I would definitely come back!
Danielle L — Google review
Great gluten free dough and regular dough!! We stopped in around 6pm and were quickly seated upstairs. The atmosphere was very pizza shop—-large wooden tables, Mystic Pizza playing on the TV and photos of the movie and celebrities. We ordered the garden salad. It was plenty big enough to split for 2-3 people. We each got the small pizza in pepperoni. The gluten free crust was tasty, it had a nice buttery flavor and good texture. The regular pizza I asked for it to be well done so that it had crispy pepperoni, which it did. It was oozing with cheese, but wasn’t super heavy and a perfect amount of sauce with a nice flavor. We each had a glass of wine, which was priced from $8-10 each. The server was really friendly and stopped by several times to check on us. Overall a lovely experience! We would definitely return.
Monica Y — Google review
Last Friday I finally got to cross this legendary restaurant off my bucket list! After my busy morning at the Mystic Aquarium, I had worked up an appetite, so I stopped at Mystic Pizza for lunch, where I sat by the window and enjoyed two plain slices. The pizza was pretty good-maybe not the best pizza I’ve ever eaten, but still very tasty. I would go back for another couple of slices. And what’s more, the young ladies behind the counter were so sweet and friendly. I had a minor issue (not related to the restaurant), and they went the extra mile to help me. I definitely recommend coming here, even if you just try it once. I am so glad I got to experience this restaurant, and I will always remember Mystic Pizza!
Laura H — Google review
There was a wait to get a table but we snagged two seats at the upstairs bar right away. Bartender was friendly and took our order right away. We ordered a large pizza with mushrooms and pepperoni. Perfect amount of sauce, cheese and toppings. The sauce had a unique taste. It wasn’t like regular pizza sauce had more flavor. Can’t really describe There was two of us so we couldn’t finish the entire pizza would definitely come back.
Nancy R — Google review
Since we were in Mystic for one night it felt like we had to go to Mystic Pizza for dinner. The food was good. The only issue I had was the fans upstairs made the lights seem almost strobe like. It gave me a bit of a headache. That said it was still great food and the service was excellent.

The Mystic Museum of Art is a delightful waterfront destination that beautifully marries art with the stunning coastal scenery of Mystic Harbor. Housed in a charming seaside cottage, this cultural gem features four galleries showcasing both permanent and rotating exhibitions that highlight contemporary works from New England artists. With over a century of history, it began as the Mystic Art Colony founded by impressionist painter Charles H Davies and has since evolved into a vibrant community hub for art enthusiasts.
“Mystic Museum of Art” - this place is wonderful. Just further up from Sift Bakery store. Online it says it’s free, it’s not you have to pay $10 to enter (admission fee). I’d say it’s worth it. I had a wonderful time when I visited here. There is outdoor parking, the parking monitor person very chatty. I walked in. You have the beautiful river views of Mystic River and the Mystic River Bascule Bridge from the outside. I sat there outdoors in the sun sketching. The museum doesn’t open till 11:00am. (Don’t come too early, like I did.) If you’re an art enthusiast, you will love this. I was so excited to see cubism and fauvism paintings by famous artists in the flesh. It’s nice and quiet, you can admire the stories behind the paintings. Many floors. I loved the red, yellow, blue room where you can add your own paper sculpture. It’s just so cool. If you haven’t been, just go! 💚🎨🖌️🖼️

The Mystic Museum of Art, nestled along the scenic banks of the Mystic River, is a cultural gem that offers a delightful experience for art enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. Its charming location in downtown Mystic makes it easily accessible, and the museum’s commitment to showcasing both historical and contemporary art is evident throughout its well-curated galleries. One of the standout features of the museum is its diverse collection, which includes works by renowned artists such as Robert Brackman, Yngve Edward Soderberg, and J. Alden Weir. The rotating exhibitions ensure that there’s always something new to discover, reflecting the museum’s dedication to celebrating American art in its many forms. Beyond the exhibitions, the Mystic Museum of Art serves as a vibrant community hub. It offers a range of educational programs, including art classes and workshops for both children and adults, fostering creativity and engagement among visitors. Events like the “Artini Hour” and “Art After Dark” provide unique opportunities to experience art in a lively, social setting. Visitors often praise the museum for its welcoming atmosphere and the quality of its displays. One reviewer noted, “The Mystic Museum of Art is a real find: located in the heart of Mystic… it contains several small halls of extraordinary art that are extremely well-maintained.” The museum’s free admission policy, with donations encouraged, makes it an accessible destination for all. In summary, the Mystic Museum of Art offers a rich and engaging experience that combines impressive art collections with community-oriented programs. Whether you’re a seasoned art lover or simply exploring Mystic, this museum is a must-visit destination that captures the essence of the region’s artistic spirit.

Very nice museum that offers a good collection of art from various artists. I enjoyed the room in the back that allowed you to create art of your own (and the view from the window was great). The gift shop has some cool things for you to grab as souvenirs. I wish there was more to look at though. Also the staff was very much huddled in the office most of the time, would've been nice if they could've come out to engage, but maybe that's just me. Definitely recommend and would be open to going back.

Its a small sometimes free museum. There is a ticket price depending on certain exhibits. Right now its free at least until April 20th. The museum is pretty cool and worth the visit. Parking is 10 bucks but the parking lot is a two minute walk into downtown Mistic so definitely worth it. Also a two minute walk to the popular sift bakery!
Kailah O — Google review
This is such a pretty art gallery that is free to the public, unless you park your car in the parking area, then you have to pay a small fee. It doesn't really have a feel of a "museum" since a lot of the pieces are for sale. There are however several pieces that are permanent (NFS) and some that are on loan. A staff member who was very friendly and helpful said that the gallery changes the exhibit every six months. My favorite piece was the polar bear sculpture and that unfortunately is one of the permanent pieces in the gallery. I would come here again in the future to see what other kind of art is put on display.

Beautiful exhibitions, including children's art work. Friendly staff, you donate money for admission. Highly recommended. I suggest placing a trash bin outside at the river, as some people unfortunately act like animals.

First, scale: This is a pint-sized museum; think less the Louvre and more your aunt's house ... if your aunt had a gorgeous ocean-front property and filled it with tasteful, thoughtfully curated art. When I visited, the whole place was given over to a special exhibit with the Mashantucket Pequot Nation highlighting Indigenous history and artwork including wampum, a dugout canoe, a display of old maps, and more. I found it fascinating and the staff person friendly and welcoming.

Ice cream shop
Dessert shop
Mystic Drawbridge Ice Cream is a charming parlor that serves small-batch ice cream, frozen yogurts, and sorbets. The shop offers outdoor seating where visitors can savor their famous homemade ice cream while enjoying the picturesque surroundings. Additionally, they provide 'pup cups,' which are small servings of vanilla ice cream designed for dogs. Mystic itself maintains its architectural integrity, preserving buildings and repurposing others to create a nostalgic atmosphere for many visitors.
This cute ice cream shop was a fun stop. It brought back child hood memories. The old fountain soda machine was a childhood favorite of mine. I got a sunday and all my hubby kept saying was "wow that is good ice cream." He was like a kid. We saw people with their fur babies which is a plus for us since we are dog parents. Over all this place is a gem to the area and worth a day trip.

It’s a unique experience to have ice cream in Mystic. There was wide selection of different flavors.Inside it’s a bit small with few seats but this shop have beautiful views of the river and seats outside. It’s just next to drawbridge over the river and if you are lucky enough like ourselves, you can watch drawbridge opening up and a ship passing under it. It was very interesting view to watch standing on the deck of the ice cream shop. We had wild blueberry and raspberry ice cream and these tasted really great. A must to visit while In Mystic.

Ice cream was amazing! 😍 we also had a brownie overload Sundae and we really loved it. Line was long but it went really fast. Definitely worth the wait.

I stopped by for a cup of ice cream and tried two flavors — roasted almond and mocha. Both were really tasty and went perfectly together! The roasted almond had a nice nutty flavor, and the mocha was smooth and rich without being too sweet. The staff were super nice and friendly, which made the visit even better. I also really liked the seating area — it has a great view of the bridge, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy your ice cream. Overall, it’s a lovely place with good vibes, friendly service, and delicious ice cream. I’ll definitely come back to try more flavors next time!

I ordered the Barbados Rum Raisin and I really loved it! They have so many flavors inside and you can try before you order, which I liked a lot. The shop is super cute with a vintage vibe — they’ve been open since 1991 so it feels very classic and charming. If you visit Mystic, you really shouldn’t miss this spot. They also have a terrace area where you can sit and enjoy your ice cream while looking at the drawbridge — the view is really nice! Perfect stop for dessert when walking around town. Highly recommend! 🍦🧡

We visited Mystic, CT and stopped at the popular Ice Cream shop. We waited in line for about 15 mins to order because it crowded on Saturday afternoon. They have many flavors. Staff were attentive, took orders quickly and yes it was delicious. There isn’t a lot of space to sit so we went outside and sat near the drawbridge to take in the sights. Definitely recommend trying their ice cream.

The shake was amazing, but the price wasn't. I know it's a tourist area, but thirty-five dollars for a t-shirt is ridiculous. It is really cool being by the drawbridge, as we could watch it go up and down. There are a lot of different flavors for ice cream. I got the peanut butter crunch, and it was very filling. I also posted the drawbridge pictures and videos to the actual place on Maps for the drawbridge.

Very creamy ice cream! They have a lot of different flavors. We got Mystic mud and it was delicious! We ate it outside to look at the boats and people watch. You also get a good view of the drawbridge. Small seating inside but great air conditioning.

Bakery
Breakfast restaurant
Sift Bake Shop Mystic is a family-owned bakery with a French accent, offering an array of delectable treats. From elegant seasonal sandwiches to buttery quiche slices, the shop has something for everyone. However, it's the sweet indulgences that steal the show, including papery-flaky croissants filled with dark chocolate and lemon meringue tarts. Visitors can even watch the bakers in action through glass windows as they create their masterpieces.
This place absolutely rocks. I was pleasantly surprised by very reasonably priced coffee and the incredible presentation of all the pastries. There’s lots of options so if you don’t have a sweet tooth, you can grab a savory quiche or a sandwich on a fresh baked croissant. There’s usually a line out the door but it’s definitely worth the wait and there’s plenty of seating indoors and outdoors.
Sarah G — Google review
This place was great! They are right in downtown mystic, and within walking distance from a public parking lot. The line was out the door but moved pretty quickly. The staff were friendly here. The food displayed was amazing just to look at. It was an organized, and perfectly laid out in the cases. So appealing to the eye that you wanted one of everything. The sticky bun was my favorite item I Tate’s but everything we tried was fantastic. The latte I had to compliment it was just as good. I can see why the line here is long, all day long. If you are in Mystic, you need to come here. If you are inside looking, get the sticky bun lol. Your welcome.
Kyle P — Google review
This place is worthy of the hype. We had the blueberry cheesecake dessert and our friend's had the vanilla cake. Delicious on all accounts and the straight black coffee was perfection as a strong and flavorful coffee. Everyone should go to Sift, and order one of everything...okay...just order something and you will see why the place constantly has a line out the door, down the street. Our dogs loved it too because a staff member walked by us on the patio area and gave them tiny dog treats. BRAVO to the chefs, owner, and wait staff. You are worthy of the highest praise.
Mary C — Google review
My daughter and I drove an hour due to a friend's recommendation. We enjoyed everything, especially the spinach and artichoke croissant and chocolate chip cookie. The key lime croissant was really good but too tart for me but daughter said it was out of this world. Quick moving line, tables inside and out were available. It was worth the drive. Ohhhh and the prices were good for the quality 👌🏾

Very good bakeshop in Mystic! Lines are long but if you have the time to wait, it’s worth trying something. We had the chocolate chip cookie, guava cheese danish, and chocolate croissant. The chocolate croissant was most notable because it has chocolate on both the inside and outside!! 😋
Tay J — Google review
We planned to visit the bakery many months ago due to the rave reviews. We were there on the morning on a weekend during rain, but there was still a big line for dine in, which is the same for pickup as well. Apparently you can only pick up without the line for bulk orders. The line moved fast so it was good. I was able to order based on the items on display. All croissants were tasty and a single croissant is very filling, vegetable croissant was savoury and tasty, pecan bun is very sweet and yum, only one type of brownie was available which was extremely fudgy and tasty, blueberry scone was dry and wished they served it with butter, and the macarons were out of this world. It is a quick service restaurant and you grab the order to dine on your own. There was good number of seats to dine in but it is also very convenient to dine in your car. I loved everything and would love to visit again! Strongly recommend!

Sift Bake Shop was incredible! Everything looked and tasted amazing — their pastries and desserts are truly next level. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients and put a lot of care into every detail. Easily one of the best bakeries I’ve been to. Highly recommend stopping by.

We are from PA and I am so glad we stopped in! We grabbed a few pastries for the road and it was well worth it 👌 Highly recommend their savory pastry with the spinach, strawberry rhubarb cheese Danish, and their chocolate croissant! Their brownie was a bit too sweet for me..so I would recommend you take it home and eat it warm with some ice cream! We look forward to visiting this bakery again in the future ❤️

Great place, with lots of history. It is interesting -- and manageable -- enough for all ages, including small kids. There's also a nice little nature center across the street and hiking nearby. The first time I went, I came with several family members when we were all visiting out of state -- only to be disappointed to see that it was closed that day. However, the Office Manager saw us peeking through the windows, came out and kindly gave us a detailed, private tour!

I stayed at Denison house the weekend of Nov 5 2021 with my family. We never experienced such a warm and and inviting feeling when we walked into the beautiful Denison House. The way the house is decorated is amazing and also extremely clean. It’s so relaxing there, no matter which room you choose to sit in. The beds were the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. The hosts thought of everything from raining day games to sunny day picnic baskets. We were fortunate enough to have a gorgeous weekend. Going to Clydes Cider mill was a fun outing and it’s very close to the inn. We also made our way to the shops in the village, that’s always a treat. Every time we went out to do something, we all had the same feeling and that was we wanted to get back to the Denison Home that made us all feel so relaxed and cozy. If I can manage to get my family together again for a weekend, we will be going back there. Thank you for hosting my family

Additionally, visitors can opt for a live-action scavenger hunt in downtown Mystic, perfect for families, date nights, or groups of friends.
We had a fantastic experience at Mystified in Mystic, CT! Our family of four did the Keeper of the Light escape room as well as the Downtown Mystic scavenger hunt, and we had a blast with both. The puzzles struck the perfect balance—challenging enough to be exciting but still very accessible. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for families or anyone looking for a fun and engaging adventure!

Our group of 8 had a great time escaping from a medium level room. One member had previously escaped an easy leve room with a party of 8. One member had previously failed two times on easy levels with a party of 2. So, large group helps and someone with previous experience helps. This place was nice and well kept. Our guide was excellent.

If I could give zero stars for customer service I would. I am here visiting my sister and we arrived for a 5:45 reservation on a Saturday night. When we arrived they said they have no more reservations and closing for the day…. At 5:45 when their closing time stated on google is not until 8 pm. The woman at the front desk was less than helpful. She told us we had booked the wrong date. I completely understand I made a mistake and the website is very difficult to navigate, this seems to be a common theme here. Since they had no more reservations and their closing time is 8 pm you would think a business would be able to fit us in that day. The only thing she offered was a “credit”. I let her know my mom and I are flying back home tomorrow and if I could please have a refund. She refused and when I asked if there was a manager or owner I could speak with she said he doesn’t care about you and he’s keeping your money. “He does this to customers all the time” were her exact words. I was genuinely appalled. This must be a scam that this operation runs to make booking the reservation extremely difficult online and then when people make a common error they keep your $100+ and tell you too bad go kick rocks. Although I cannot speak on the actual escape room, I’m sure it would have been a fun time for me and my family had there been any accommodations for the staff. I can speak on the absolutely horrific customer service from the front desk women Fiona, and this reflects a business enough. Moral of the story triple check the booking if you are brave enough to come here, this company has zero regard for their customers and lies about operating hours on google. Sketchy location as well, as we were sitting on the curb waiting for our Uber we saw the front desk lady and two young kids all get into one car. We never saw any customers come in or out of the building. This business is either a front or a scam and I’ll be following up with the better business bureau about this establishment. I will follow up and remove this review if I can receive a refund. Very upsetting experience.

Came on my birthday 2 hours before it supposedly closes according to Google and their Facebook page. Open sign was off, no one in the lobby, and no answer to my calls. Super disappointing, and it's weird to me that they make you wait outside when they have a perfectly good lobby? Why? It is cold outside. is it because the front desk is often unmanned? I was excited cuz of all the good reviews :(

Absolutely terrible! The grumpy old lady at the counter didn't want to be there and needs to be fired otherwise this place won't survive. The place is a dump. We discovered mold in the bathroom and in the room. It should be shut down. Don't bring your family here. There are so many better things to do. Avoid this dump. Again, the grumpy, miserable old lady at the counter needs to be fired. She is rude and has anger issues. Very poorly run "business." Save your money and avoid!

Decided to come here for my daughter’s birthday thought it would be a great add on to her day as I got there they were literally locking the doors 3 hours prior to the online disclosed closing time it was a young kid hopping in the car w his buddies to enjoy the day I guess. I tried to call & tell them they closed down 3 hours early & I felt like the kid who was closing down too early was the same person who got my message I left on the machine and called me back because he basically was telling me why did I have to call and snitch

The Mystic River Bascule Bridge is a charming attraction that connects the Stonington and Groton sides of the river. From May 1 to October 31, it operates hourly to accommodate passing boats. Witnessing this bridge in action, halting downtown traffic and lifting for boats, is an impressive sight. The town exudes an authentic New England ambiance with its quaintness and friendly locals. Visitors can enjoy fine dining, shopping, and iconic landmarks like the drawbridge and Mystic Pizza.
It is fun to watch the bridge go up and down. It reminds me of the East Haddam Swimg Bridge, only smaller. I like how they have the caution stop. I visited the ice cream shop right at the bridge site.

I’ve come to Mystic ever since I was a little kid. And one of my favorite things to see was the bridge. Watching it go up and down is so cool! There were lots of children watching and they enjoyed seeing it. Even now as an adult, it’s pretty cool to watch. The boats go through and wave to the people as they pass by. It’s definitely something unique about this town that many people love
Andres G — Google review
Such a fun sight to see in a charming little town! During our short road trip, we spent some time in Mystic, CT, and really enjoyed the drawbridge. It’s operated with these massive concrete counterweights, which makes it a fascinating piece of engineering to watch in action. Mystic itself isn’t flashy, but it’s a pleasant, welcoming place. A bonus near the bridge is a great ice cream shop that makes the stop even better. Definitely a nice spot to check out while strolling through town!
Natalia M — Google review
Nicely located in the heart of historic Mystic, it opens and closes several times per day. It is sort of fun watching it operate once, with boats rushing through the canal, comfortably sitting on a bench in the waterfront park next to it, possibly with an ice cream - if you have nothing more exciting to do.
M ( — Google review
Very different feeling when I watch the bridge opens and closes. No noise at all when it's in motion during the winter or summer. It makes the Mystic more special.
H K — Google review
Completed in 1922, it was designed by Thomas Ellis Brown, a former chief engineer at Otis Elevator Company, and built by the J. E. FitzGerald Construction Company of New London. What sets it apart is its rare implementation of the Brown Balance Beam Bascule, a patented design that was revolutionary for its time. Brown's design makes use of a multi-link counterweight system, in contrast to conventional bascule bridges, which pivot on permanent axles. This enables the bridge's enormous concrete counterweights to rotate only 69 degrees, but its 85-foot movable span spins a full 90 degrees. The key to a smoother, quieter functioning is a double-pivot hanger linkage that moves the effective lever arm while in motion. The bridge uses a self-locking worm gear system and its own imbalanced mass to maintain position instead of toe locks. The bridge's architecture is simple yet attractive. The bridge is framed like bookends by squat concrete towers that hold its exposed mechanical components, which include driving motors, bull wheels, and counterweights. Even though these towers aren't decorative, they have an air of industrial elegance, particularly when the bridge raises to allow sailboats to pass across. There was way too much traffic and zero parking nearby so we were not able to stick around to see the bridge open today.
Bruce I — Google review
Such a nostalgic place. This place holds a special place in my heart. I’ve been visiting this place since my college days in the 90’s and I usually make a stop here on my way to Foxwoods. Mystic is a seaport town and the draw bridge is the main attraction of this quaint village.

We just spent Labor Day weekend at Mystic Downtown Marina , it was the first time for my husband and I. We were both extremely satisfied with the amenities, how accommodating and the service of the manager Brian and lastly how convenient it was that we were right around the corner from town with lots to do! Great experience 07/06/25 It was our third time staying at Mystic Downtown Marina, but nothing has changed since our last visit in 2020. Our experience with Brian running the place has been exceptional. He has always gone above and beyond to accommodate us and our friends who book their own slips for an enjoyable 4th of July getaway. As a bonus, we also have the pleasure of being next to the friendliest neighbors. We love this marina not only for its magnificent surroundings, but also for its location, which allows us to visit quaint gift shops, a candy shop (my favorite) and 5 star restaurants within two minutes of the marina. All the hype about S&P Oyster Restaurant did not disappoint, everything was phenomenal. Daniel's Packers Inn is also a stone's throw from the marina and is a great choice if you are looking for a more pub-style dining experience. On our first night there, we made use of the patio grilling area. It was the ideal location for our group of eight to enjoy some burgers and dogs. Despite a brief rainstorm, we were able to enjoy our little barbecue. Afterward, a beautiful rainbow appeared, further confirming that we had made the right decision to return to Mystic Downtown Marina.

It’s basically a kind of touristy location - I have never seen Mystic Pizza (the film) and it was related to me that the actually building is a tourist destination in itself. My friend walked me around town and pointed out the attractions. On that day it was particularly hot and the sidewalks thronged with shuffling tourists. Also, word of warning: there’s a drawbridge running through town - over the Mystic River - that can leave you stuck on one side for quite some time depending on what the status on that is. It is the main thoroughfare along the stores and waterfront and used by both pedestrians and vehicles to cross.

The Charles W. Morgan, the oldest surviving American commercial vessel and the only wooden whaling ship still in existence, is a key attraction at the Marine Historical Association. This living history museum offers visitors the chance to interact with docents demonstrating various trades from the past. In addition to boarding the Charles W. Morgan, guests can also explore other historic vessels such as the LA Dunton and Joseph Conrad.
Excellent! So much history preserved in this wooden ship. Something other than a warship saved for future generations to tour and understand. The staff are friendly and informed. A demonstration of launching a whale boat from the ship is performed, and visitors are encouraged to "man the ropes" in pulling it back onboard. The ship ties into the other building on the seaport. A barrel maker (cooper) and blacksmith work in the local building and their efforts support the restoration of the ship and the historically restored buildings.

Well worth the trip to Mystic, CT from anywhere in Massachusetts, Connecticut or Rhode Island, the Mystic Seaport Maritime Museum is a full day adventure at a multiple national historic site. (The many-acre museum is not only one, but contains three ships that are, individually, national historic sites themselves. The Charles W. Morgan is the last wooden whaling ship in the world that is not only magnificently restored, but well staffed by highly knowledgeable docents that bring its history and functions to life. On the opposite side of the grounds, be sure to take at least a 30 minute ride on the Mystic River on the S.S. Sabino steam ship, another national historic site. (Rides vary between 30 minutes and 2-1/2 hours, depending upon time of day; the Sabino is quickly reached through the Seaport's south entrance.) Docents can be found throughout the grounds, sharing oral histories in the recreated whaling village buildings and businesses. Visits can take between 2-1/2 to 6 hours, so reserving a room in one of the nearby hotels is recommended.

We came to Mystic, and wanted to get something sweet after we had lunch. We saw this place on social media and they said that the doughnuts here were great, so we decided to try it out. The place is small but had a good space outside to sit. They have a wide variety of different treats and we tried a doughnut. It was very good and very soft. The flavor wasn’t too sweet and the sprinkles were perfect. We definitely want to come back to try more things on the menu soon!

Cute donut shop in the olde village. Get there early for the best selection. We had a gluten sensitive cider donut —-very sugary and nice flavor and crumb. We also couldn’t decide between the fluffernutter (filled donut) or the PB Cup, so got both to try. They both had nice flavor, though I’m not sure I could have eaten a whole one of either. The bake on the filled donut was very good. They also had some nice seasonal coffee options.

The donuts look fun and definitely fun to bring your kids too. The designs are adorable and the flavors too. We only got to try the Samoa donut and it’s a bit too sweet for us but still good.

We always pre-order gluten free donuts for our family since a few have celiac disease. The donuts here are extremely good! They have specials all the time and have a wide variety of flavors to choose from. The store gets very busy in the morning and the line tends to get pretty long. That's why we pre-order the day prior. They also have lattes and coffee and other drinks. We return often due to the quality and taste of the donuts.
Heath C — Google review
During our recent visit, we purchased two donuts, four cookies, a coffee, and a tea, totaling $30.00. Upon returning to our hotel, we assessed the items. The Boston cream donut was satisfactory, though the cream filling was minimal. The apple cider donut possessed an accurate flavor profile, however, it was over-fried, resulting in a hard texture. Regarding the cookies, we selected a MM, chocolate chip, white chocolate macadamia nut, and pumpkin variety. While the cookies were substantial in size and thickness, the dough lacked sufficient flavor. We would not recommend based of our experience.

Williams Beach Park is a small beachfront park in Mystic where locals and visitors can go swimming or picnic. It has a playground and sports field for football / soccer, which makes it great for families. It's not monitored by lifeguards, but it's free and an excellent place to enjoy Mystic's beaches.
Despite the fact that this isn’t a beach open to the sea (no waves for example) it’s extremely family friendly. It’s in front of a Y center and I think you need a membership in theory but we spent 2 hours there during our road trip and nobody bothered us. Plus I was able to use the restroom in the Y (btw very clean). Thankful for the Y’s hospitality 😊
Mitra C — Google review
The beach is rocky (lots of pebbles as you approach the water) and it's not beautiful, in the way you want a beach to be. Having said that, it's a perfect, local beach to bring the kids if you live close. It was in walking distance from where we were staying - so it was awesome to walk to instead of driving to other beaches. Other positives: there is a playground right there, a baseball field and a YMCA (if you're a member). So, bring the family, get a workout and swim in and then hit the playground.
Kris K — Google review
Nice quiet beach for small ones. Nice little playground and easy parking. Porta potties were clean as well. What a lovely place
Brian K — Google review
I'm hoping this was an isolated incident and maybe due to the time of year, but I'm visiting from out of town via train (so no car) and decided to walk to the beach from my lodging when I was told by 2 YMCA staff that it was a private beach and I couldn't stay. It appears from other reviews that this isn't the case. Perhaps the staff was misinformed, in which case please educate your staff so that all visitors can feel welcome in this public space.

Perfect place for young kids. I took my kids here last week and they were so happy and already swimming in May. The water was so warm. They have a park and playground here as well, and a port a potty near by just in case! Close parking. Not sure how crowded it gets in the summer but we had a blast playing in the sand and catching sea snails. Bring water shoes though because the rocks can be tough on the little guys feet!
Stephanie G — Google review
Fun place to take the kids. There is a play ground area for them. The parking lot is located at the community center that has lots of amenities such as an indoor basketball court, indoor pool, fitness equipment, lockers and showers. The "beach" itself is a small area, the sand is not ideal for castles because the consistency is more like mud. The water is very rocky so precaution needs to be taken when walking in the water, water shoes are ideal. There are bigger rocks as well and the water is a bit murky so can be hard to be seen.

Mystic Seaport is home to a vast array of historical watercraft, such as the 19th century Charles W. Morgan, the last remaining wooden whaling ship in the United States, and the USS Nautilus, which was the first nuclear-powered submarine. Visitors can also embark on a cruise aboard the schooner Argia for a scenic journey into Long Island Sound, with the sunset sail being particularly noteworthy.

What a great experience for the whole family! Lots to learn! You can see ships being refurbished. And you can go onto Schooners! The historic buildings are amazing! Teaches you all about Ship Life! Places to eat and also a great gift shop!

Jackie A — Google review
Really nice museum with outdoor and indoor exhibits. We paid $44/adult and $22/youth. We had an amazing time. The museum was nice, not too crowded and with nice live explanations when needed. Learning was also pleasant. Easy with kids. The outdoor area was pet friendly except inside the boats.

Wife and I were kinda hesitant because of the price but honestly, it's pretty good value for what you experience. We visited on a late August Tuesday and while there weren't as many staff as may have been on a weekend, it was still very informative. There's a lot to see, you can easily spend most of the day here. We spent 3hrs here and while we hit many exhibits and staff demonstrations we didn't do everything possible. There are self guided buildings and many with staff educational assistance. These folks are passionate and knowledgeable about the history of Mystic seafaring history with a particular focus on whaling but there's so much to explore. You can see how people lived, shopped, ate, cooked and worked all focusing on the diversity of life around a sea community. I'd return again and try to hit the planetarium if nothing else. This is definitely worth the time.

Argia Mystic Cruises offers a unique maritime experience in the coastal village of Mystic. Guests can explore the area's scenic coastline, nearby islands, and historic landmarks aboard the 81-foot classic wooden schooner, ARGIA. With a knowledgeable crew manning the ship, passengers can relax on the spacious deck while learning about maritime history.
Such a wonderful and relaxing cruise. The crew is top notch and really knows their history on landmarks along the way. The only thing that I just want to share...when picking your seats, if you pick A5 or A6 it looks like on the seating chart that you have a space between. This is not so, made for a bit of a challenge for us and the guest we sat next to. It worked out in the end but just be aware.

This was a real treat! My husband and I booked a sunset sail. The group is small and the ship is easily accessible; we had a few people on board with disabilities and they had no problem, there's parking nearby and just a short walk down the dock and the gangway to the schooner. The captain and crew were friendly, well-informed, and honestly very impressive! We got a mix of fun local history and time to mingle with other passengers. The accommodations were very comfortable and we had an absolutely lovely sail. Highly recommend if you're in the area and want a chill, fun sail! Good vibes all around.

Would highly recommend!!!! It was a wonderful ride! The staff were funny and knowledgeable, and it was a relaxing cruise! My husband got to hoist one of the sails, which he said was so cool! We did the sunset cruise, so there were some drunk people on board. But they stayed on the other side of the boat and didn’t bother us at all, we just got to sit back and enjoy the ride(and the beauty of God’s creation) 😊 also!! We thoroughly enjoyed hearing the history of North Dumpling! 😂

We discovered the Argia walking across the famous Mystic Drawbridge. Information for ticket purchases and sailings were priminently displayed. We were able to purchase tickets for that day's sailing. The sailing was full; however I really appreciated the organization and the booking process which gave us the opportunity to choose our seats. The crew were excellent. We had a succinct safety talk and narration along the way- which consisted of a motored tour of the Mystic River and a sail near Fishers Island. Lemonade was complimentary. Bring a jacket and sunscreen.

Unforgettable Sailing Experience! I had an amazing time aboard the Argia Mystic Cruise! The schooner is absolutely beautiful and so well-maintained. The crew was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and made everyone feel welcome. We sailed through gorgeous coastal views, learned about the history of the area, and had plenty of time to relax and enjoy the breeze. It was peaceful, scenic, and truly a unique experience. Perfect for couples, families, or even solo travelers looking to unwind. Highly recommend! can’t wait to go again!

I had taken the sunset cruise with family and it was a fantastic time! The crew were very knowledgeable about the area and gave little facts and fun information about some of the islands. It was great being out on the water and the sights were just incredible! I really recommend it as this is a great way to spend a couple of hours and see some of the neat activities Connecticut has to offer!

Engine Room is a charming restaurant in Mystic, CT that serves New American comfort food along with a wide selection of craft beers and bourbons. The eatery is part of the 85th Day Food Collective, which also operates Oyster Club in Mystic and Harings in Noank.
Came here for a lunch after spending a few hours at the maritime museum. We sat outside because it was a beautiful August day in the mid-70s. Wife and I both enjoyed the Meza NEIPA from Fox Farm brewery. I had the summer burger with fries and wife enjoyed the fish sandwich with potato salad. Food was delicious. I ordered the burger bloody but got medium which often happens with burgers but the flavor was good. The potato salad was delicious. Service was decent enough, professional and measured. When we are next in Mystic I'd like to try dinner here.

Engine Room is a gastro pub located in a old engine factory. It has a rustic look and it's a cool spot. We sat outside on the patio during brunch. Service was efficient and friendly. There's a large selection of craft beers, cocktails, and wine. The cuisine is American; there were burgers, salads, sandwiches, and more. They also give you the option to make your own bloody Marys. I had the Express Yourself cocktail which is like an espresso martini; that was good. For my meal, I had the Engine Room breakfast sandwich, it had bacon, eggs, cheese, on a bun with fries. The food was really good. Overall, we had a good experience. The food and drinks were delicious and would definitely return.

Visited the Engine Room while in Mystic,CT. it was very crowded, but we were able to get seated quickly. My husband ordered from the happy hour menu the cheeseburger, hot dog and the hush puppies. The best burger we’ve eaten in a long while. The bun to meat ratio was perfect. Also the hush puppies had a nice texture. The hot dog honestly was ok. I ordered the fish sandwich and potato salad. The fish needed a little more seasoning (just added hot sauce to jazz it up). The potato salad was good. I love red potatoes so it was perfect for me. Would visit again.

This not your average diner, I would call it brewery restaurant that has distinct style. Plase has relaxed yet stylish atmosphere and creative menue. They have their own salmon jerky which is basically a piece of salmon that is particularly smoked and particularly dried, we ended up having two orders of this. Also whipped ricotta was very good and unorthodox. Ceasar salad has hefty amount of grilled chicken and burgers were very good too.

This was a nice restaurant. Atmosphere is a little loud as we went on a Saturday night. The waitress was very nice and the food was good as seen in the pictures. Restaurant is very reasonably prices as of August 2025.

Did not have to wait on Sun evening around 6pm. Server was friendly, and he commiserated with my wife who has celiac disease (said his mother does, too). My wife’s GF burger bun held together and she liked it. I had the fish and chips, which were nothing special. The coleslaw was very salty.
Peter R — Google review
Overpriced For Quality Visited on Memorial Day Sunday - busy enough but we got seated fairly quickly. The wait staff was fine, if not particularly friendly or quick. The ambiance is perfect - lovely interior, thoughtful design touches, and the live music outside was solid. The issue, however, is the food. It's pricey and the quality does *not* match the price. The Cowboy Dip was bad, as were the Deviled Eggs (presentation was great for both, flavor was not). I was more hopeful for our entrees: I had the Red Wine Short Ribs, wife had a chicken burger. She liked hers a lot, which is a win. Mine looked great - again, they kill it on presentation - but the mashed potatoes desperately needed salt and garlic, while the Short Ribs were woefully bland. We spent $100 for one of the most disappointing meals I've had in a long time.

Oyster Club is a rustic-chic seafood restaurant located in Mystic, Connecticut. It offers creative boat-to-table New England seafood in a charming space with a zinc bar and roomy deck. The restaurant is part of the 85th Day Food Collective, which also operates Engine Room in Mystic and Harings in Noank.
Oyster Club is a restaurant and raw bar. Their style cuisine is farm and sea to table; the menu is seasonal and changes often. The ingredients are fresh and local. The chef is a James Beard semifinalist. They also serve brunch on the weekends. In the warmer months, there is a treetop dining upstairs. It's on a deck with beautiful views of the water. It is self serve, you have to order at the counter and pick up your food. The menu is Mexican food inspired. We were going to do this option but it was a very hot day. We had a great experience inside the restaurant. The service was attentive. We started off with some margaritas, half a dozen of fresh oysters, and I had the oyster Rockefeller (baked oysters with creamy spinach, bread crumbs, and cheese) for my meal. The food was fresh and tasty. I look forward to going back and also checking out their treetop dining!

I saw this place on TikTok and wanted to give it a try and it definitely did not disappoint. We were sat on the bar side right in front of the cooks which I actually enjoyed! I ordered Oysters and Will the person that was chucking the oyster gave us a presentation and a demonstration on everything which I truly enjoy. Shout to Will for that. Colleen. She was an exceptional waitress! She handled everything with professionalism and integrity and I truly appreciate that. She was so sweet and caring she made the experience worth giving this place a try. If you’re ever in the area. Please give this place a try. I’ll definitely be back! Thank you so much!!

The place is bigger than it appears from the outside. There is an upstairs. The interior is very cozy and cute. The food was delicious. We got the sourdough which was ok. The kale salad was good. The harissa dressing gave it a little kick. The beets were delicious. The tagliatelle was very good, pasta cooked to perfection. The steak frites, the steak was flavorful and the fries were a little too soft for my taste.

I recently discovered a must-visit restaurant in Mystic during the summer. After camping in Mystic, my husband and I were craving a delightful dining experience with our furry friend. Coincidentally, they had opened up the Treehouse, a charming establishment serving Mexican cuisine. The food was exceptional, and the cocktails were equally delectable. Despite being a first-come, first-served place, we were fortunate enough to secure a lovely table. I can’t wait to return next year and savor their oysters again.
Jinhee S — Google review
After reading the other reviews on goggle I had very high expectations, but it was underwhelming to say the least. We started off with a dozen of their HH oysters and their HH cocktail which were very good. We later ordered their NE clam chowder, mussels with sourdough bread, and steak frites. The mussels were quite good but the $8 sourdough bread add-on for 4 pieces of bread and butter felt sparse. The butter was barely touched as the sauce from the mussels was plenty. The calm chowder was refreshing but not as thick as a typical chowder. The dish that really ruined the experience were the steak frites. We ordered the steak medium rare and it came to us well-done. For the price point of the food and the quality that was received it was quite disappointing. I would recommend coming here for the oysters but avoid the steak frites.

This was kind of a last minute thing because a friend heard we were in this area and recommended it. It was about an hour before they closed, so there was no wait for the two of us. Everyone was super nice and helpful. Someone else in the reviews mentioned that there’s street parking (very little, don’t rely on finding any) and there’s also a public lot about a block away (short walk slightly uphill to the restaurant). The restaurant validates an hour, which turned out to be a $5 credit, we stayed a little over an hour and a half and ended up paying like $10 still if I remember correctly. My husband and I are NOT seafood people, which makes this restaurant an unusual choice for us. They do have non-seafood options but we both had a fairly heavy lunch so decided to try their fish dishes. The native catch that day was swordfish which my husband got, and I had the monkfish katsu (don’t look up what a monkfish looks like if you don’t already know 😅). Both were absolutely delicious. Dessert was an almond brown butter cake that was to die for. I’d love to return to try their other menu items someday.
Em C — Google review
This restaurant is absolutely incredible. I have to say this is one of my top dining experiences I have ever had in my life. The service was great. Friendly and incredibly informative about the sourcing of their product as well as giving detailed descriptions of all the different items I was interested in. The food was also absolutely incredible. All locally sourced, and robust with flavor. I had a Carrot Curry Soup that had me instantly elevated to nirvana. My girlfriend had a delicious Tuna Burger that I repeatedly stole bites from because it had such a tantalizing taste. To start the meal we had a variety of Oysters and their different descriptive flavors. As well as a delectable horseradish Bloody Mary and Mimosa. The atmosphere was very welcoming and family friendly. Every foot of the building was put together, clean, ornate, and fitted to the theme of the restaurant. The only thing I was not an incredible fan of was today’s specialty sorbet flavor which I had for dessert. Don’t get me wrong it was quite good, and the waitress told me beforehand a detailed description of what the flavor would be. (It was a peach and licorice mixture.) I had to try it because I was so curious to see what it tasted like. And even though I do not like licorice at all, I found the flavor wonderfully refreshing and intriguing. I know that my grandmother who loved licorice would have been over the moon to enjoy such a dessert to end such a perfectly delicious meal at such a wonderful location. I am very happy that I chose to bring my girlfriend here for our 1-year-anniversary.

Located in Olde Mystic Village, Jealous Monk is a popular European beer hall and social club offering a convivial atmosphere and a diverse menu. With over 30 beers on draft, this spot is perfect for beer enthusiasts. The open brewery-style space features a huge outdoor patio that is kid-friendly, making it an ideal destination for families.
Stopped in at Jealous Monk for breakfast, which is not something you normally think of here since it’s better known as a German-style beer hall. The menu was definitely different than your usual breakfast spot—and it worked. The eggs with hash came out in a skillet and were excellent, hearty, and flavorful. The bangers with pancakes were also spot on, a great mix of traditional and nontraditional. What makes it stand out is how they take classic breakfast dishes and put their own spin on them. Everything we ordered was really well done, and it felt like a fresh take on the usual breakfast routine. Between the food and the atmosphere, it’s an all-around nice place to go for breakfast in Mystic. Highly recommend giving it a try if you want something a little different from the standard diner-style breakfast.

Beautiful place and ambiance. Excellent service by all staff who are constantly checking on you and helping each other. Coffee was perfectly made to my requests. Corned beef Benny was bland, even after copious amounts of salt and pepper, though that is a matter of personal taste. The food used quality ingredients and had an inviting presentation. A delicious (and complementary) old fashioned bottle of water made the perfect compliment to my brunch! Finally, the lime raspberry cake tasted good, though not moist and somewhat of a Little Debbie cake consistency, which was the only part of the meal I wouldn't recommend. Overall a pleasant experience I'd highly recommend if you're in the neighborhood, as I happened to drive by.

We’ve been to Mystic before, but hadn’t tried this restaurant. We were looking for something local and with good food. This place popped up for us on social media, and we decided to give it a try. They have a wide variety of food and lots to choose from. We got the Buffalo Chicken Rangoon, a 1/2 rack of ribs, the Chicken Schnitzel, and of course the New England Clam Chowder. Jealous Monk is a beer hall and garden located in the Olde Mistick Village. The interior is spacious with high ceilings and long tables. The outside patio is also spacious with plenty of seating. There are dozens of rotating draft beers, cocktails, and wine. They also have a good selection of food; from pretzels, burgers, wings, and more. I'm a fan of craft beer so I had to stop in. I love that it is kid friendly too. We ate outside on a beautiful summer evening. Our server was friendly and attentive. I had the red sangria which was good. We started off with the buffalo chicken crab rangoons which were decent. They had lobster rolls on the menu so I had to order it. I love the cold style; it's mixed with mayo on lettuce and a buttered bun. They loaded it with lobster meat. Overall, my family and I enjoyed our meals and drinks! I highly recommend!

The opportunity to interact with the dancers and the choreographer added a personal touch that we’ll always remember. The atmosphere was electric, yet so welcoming. The way the performers engaged with the audience made us feel like we were part of the performance. Truly a magical and heartwarming experience.

Amazing! Tonight’s dance performance was nothing short of breathtaking. From the very first moment, the stage came alive with raw energy, grace, and a level of talent that left the entire audience in awe. Every dancer poured their heart into each movement, creating a visual symphony that was both powerful and deeply moving. The choreography was stunning—seamlessly blending elegance with emotion, precision with passion.

Amazing contemporary movement mixed w/ a seductive atmosphere. Good cocktails and wonderfully sweet performers. Make sure to give them lots of noise and claps to ensure for a memorable night. Beware, you might get pulled up onstage for some dancing. Would 100% go again.

As you walk in you are greeted by many of the dancers. They let us sit in the main room. Very intimate setting. It was my first time in mystic CT and we came here specifically to watch this show. It was a very special experience, extremely talented dancers. They kept eye contact all seats were pretty amazing. After the show, we spoke to many of the dancers. The director was very accommodating considering I booked the wrong date and it was totally my fault. We brought two bottles of wine to drink and they had wine openers and glasses on the table. Just such a nice experience. Highly recommend as a must see if in mystic.

What a cool experience. The show was unlike any other I’ve ever been to. The way they are able to blend modern aesthetics into the world of classical ballet makes the performance feel remarkably fresh and unique. Additionally, the cast features a very talented crew, scouted from all across the world. The showroom is very intimate yet comfortable. You definitely won’t miss a second of this show. As a bonus they also serve top notch wines and cocktails, which helps make this perfect for a date night or group outing.

Amazing atmosphere, show, and performers. Incredible and intimate show perfect for a night out! Unsure of what to expect but the show is captivating beginning to end. A beautiful job of choreography allows for an intimate interaction with the audience. The energy passed from the dancers to the audience was unmatched. Everything Mystic Ballet has to offer made for an AMAZING experience! Truly unlike anything I had ever seen but I CANNOT wait to go back!!!

Mystic Luxury Cinemas is a charming, locally owned movie theater that also hosts live theater and concert performances. The theater is known for its intimate setting and comfortable seating, including heated reclining seats with individual tables and cup holders. While the food options are somewhat limited, there is a bar available for beverages. The staff is accommodating and friendly, making sure guests have an enjoyable experience.
An amazing movie theater! Great customer service. The price is at the concession stand are very reasonable. With combo packages that make it even more reasonable. Nice padded seat with foot rest and tables, I can’t recommend them enough.

Fantastic Movie Experience! My family and I had a wonderful time at Mystic Luxury Cinema for the 20th-anniversary showing of Pride and Prejudice. The seating was excellent, and we really appreciated the seat heating feature, which added to the comfort. The selection of food and drinks was also impressive and delicious. The cinema's location in the village is perfect – cozy and convenient. We also loved the nice decorations and found the staff to be very friendly. It was a highlight of our staycation in Mystic!

I purchased tickets March 13 for a 2 o’clock showing on April 6, only to be told that manager Lorraine booked a birthday party. I have never been to a more unprofessionally run movie theater in my entire life. And I have worked for a movie theater company for decades and not once did we ever do anything like this to customers! They don’t offer a refund they try to give you a free pass to come in for another time. Here’s a thing I have about 12 of these free passes and every time my son and I go to use them we can’t. My son also has had two $50 gift cards that never seem to work when we go so beware that if you buy a gift card from these places, they don’t even know how to work those. I have furthermore told family members and friends. Please don’t keep buying him for his birthday anymore movie theater gift cards from this movie theater because they don’t work and we wind up paying out-of-pocket. I used to hold this movie theater. In such high regards since the man I met Bill who is part owner of this theater. Is the most wonderful man ever. It’s just disappointing the people he has running. It are absolutely horrendous. I have purchased another ticket for Thursday’s show and I hope that I don’t get a runaround that they booked another kids birthday party. I will say I felt bad for the workers there who had to tell everybody this because it was not their fault and people really shouldn’t get mad at the workers because the management was so greedy to cancel an entire show that people booked four weeks in advance to see only to be turned away and have to go to a later show and then stand a chance of not getting the same seat that you purchased. So we returned for the 630 show only to be told now we have to wait because the party is going over in time. Do these people realize that others have to work in the morning and we’re accommodating for a stupid birthday party? Furthermore, the staff there was talking badly about management and I don’t blame them management left them in the lurch. It’s sad that the stupid little stunt that they pulled yesterday is gonna cost them a lot of loyal patrons. My entire family and friends in this area will be sure to inform all.

We love this theater! The seats are heated and super comfortable. The trays have drink holders. The aisles are wide enough that people can pass while the chairs are reclined. The movies they show are excellent and shown on time. The staff are friendly, polite, and competent. The popcorn is delicious! The theater and restrooms are clean. We come here often and will continue to do so. Keep up the good work!

Picture is bright, sound is crisp and loud. Theater is clean and looks new. Concession includes good popcorn but in smaller containers than the bigger chains. Extended concession menu available, like chicken fingers, as well as a beer and wine license. Cinema 3 is the best, 1 is nice, 2 is smaller. Seats are comfortable for the most part except the movable trays limit the amount of space to get out of the seat for wider bodies.
Cliff ( — Google review
I took my child to a movie today, I gave him some cash and told him to grab a popcorn and that I would be right there. He went up to a younger girl who looked lost, maybe she is new and he told her a small popcorn. She said, $8.50. I said no he wants a mini. She actually told me "he said small,' and I thought to myself, seriously? Okay, no problem. So I said, mini, again. Since they were popping popcorn, we asked for it from the popper. She relayed this info to the young man and they both were so annoyed that we asked this request, that it was as if I told them that something awful happened! The young man storms to the back and gives my kid a bag that wasn't even fully filled. It cost five dollars too, and it used to be $4.50. He was really rude and couldn't even politely give it to us. Its cool if your mean to me, but being completely unprofessionally to a child under 10 is just wrong. It wasn't crowded. I don't understand why this place continues to hire people who have no people skills whatsoever. I have been here before more than a few times and the turnover seems to be often. The lady with the braids is lovely. The bald dude at night is also always angry, and thankfully I don't go at night anymore. The younger staff is just miserable. I read about the "gen z stare' and in this case, this is face to face customer service for $16 an hour and free movies. Sign me up! There should be no excuse. It's an easy job. I did it many, many years ago. It can be stressful during a rush but there was only four other people in the lobby. I have experienced this with many of the younger staff here, and I am going to give up going here. It makes me sad and frustrated. However, I am at my wits end. I want to support local businesses but I cannot do so anymore until this theater hires people with better customer service skills. I know they can because they done so in the past. The younger staff who work here are rude, mean, unattentive, ignores customers and just do not care. They are either chatting in the back while there is a line or glued to their phones. I came here one night last summer and the employees were lying on the lounges located in the lobby while watching stuff on their phones. The same night, I wanted a soda well before closing time, only to the find not one employee in the lobby. It was odd. The bottom lines is I am sick and tired of coming here and being treated as an inconvenience to most of the staff. Perhaps that is why they don't wear name tags? Their HR department needs to hire people who likes movies and at least try to be pleasant. The theater is nice besides that, it really needs a proper cleaning though. I dropped my keys under the seat and it had old candy and popcorn under it. I believe it was the first showing of the day too. Those heated seats are great though! If you do need to go to concessions, make sure you go someone who looks like they want to work there.
Marie S — Google review
We recently visited this theater and had a frustrating and disappointing experience. We purchased our tickets about 25 minutes before the showtime listed, then waited in a visible seating area while having popcorn. When about 10 minutes went by, we went into the assigned theater — only to find that the movie had already been playing for quite some time, which left us confused. We asked a staff member about what was going on and he told us the movie was actually playing in a different auditorium, and we showed him our tickets. Once inside the other theater, we realized the issue: we had been sold tickets for the other showing that was already well underway at the time of purchase. Our seats were no longer valid, and the only remaining options were in the very front rows — not suitable for my boyfriend, who has a herniated disc and cannot sit comfortably that close to the screen. It was clear we had not intentionally bought tickets for a movie already in progress- yet a staff member insisted they assumed we knew there were “long previews.” That assumption was both incorrect and unprofessional. There was no explanation or clarification given at the time of purchase, and this mistake was entirely on the theater. We asked for a refund given the circumstances, but were told it wasn’t possible and were only offered movie passes. On top of that, as I was walking away, I overheard a male staff member behind the counter say, “This is why you don’t purchase movie tickets early.” That comment was completely inappropriate. We purchased early specifically to ensure good seating for someone with a medical condition- not to be met with sarcasm after being misled. This experience was deeply disappointing, especially on what was supposed to be a fun birthday outing. The mistake should have been acknowledged and resolved respectfully, not brushed off with excuses and inappropriate remarks.

Such a charming place. We love that they have reclining/heated seats. Their prices are more reasonable than the chain theaters, and I’m not sure if he still has an active presence there, but the owner used to bring his dog in. He also took me and a friend on an impromptu tour of the projector room and explained the mechanics of the old reel projector in the foyer.

S&P Oyster Restaurant and Bar is a contemporary waterfront spot that has been serving boat-to-table New England seafood, premium oysters, and farm-to-table fare for over 25 years. The restaurant's rustic-chic space features a large wooden deck perfect for alfresco dining and sunset cocktails. Chef Cobena and his team create culinary delights using fresh, locally sourced ingredients from farmers, fishermen, and vendors.
Easily our favorite place in the area (and there's plenty of good restaurants)! The restaurant doesn't offer high chairs or booster seats, so we ended up bringing our own (which they allowed). There were other children at the restaurant as well, and the waitstaff were very welcoming contrary to some of the older reviews. We loved everything but personal favorite was the ahi tuna plate. Will definitely be back in the future.

Our first time in Mystic and S&P came highly recommended. Besides the heat, we had a wonderful dining experience. The host and server (Ryan) were amazing. We waited for the patio to open because it would have been a 2.5 hour wait for a table indoors. If you’d like to eat inside, you should definitely make a reservation (it would have been preferable since it was so hot outside but we still enjoyed the patio setting and close proximity to the drawbridge — we loved watching the boats sail by as we ate). Overall, the food was delicious. We started with their Thai Calamari which was exceptional (top tier) — best we’ve ever had! Their Crispy Seafood Platter and Chicken Yucatán were also very good (risotto tasted even better the next day). I was a bit disappointed by the Lobster Ravioli — I called and expressed my concerns to Jeremy (manager) and he was very considerate and resolved the issue in a timely manner. Very pleased with how he handled everything. We didn’t have room for dessert, maybe next time. If you’re in Mystic or planning a trip, do yourself a favor and make a reservation at this fine establishment — the location, service, ambiance, and food cannot be beat!

What a pleasant surprise! I ordered scallop pasta and my husband ordered swordfish with risotto. It was so good we both cleaned our plates. I had a rose with dinner and he had a hot & dirty martini. For dessert in had the peanut butter & chocolate martini and he had an espresso martini with Baileys. What an experience! Everything was perfect; the view, the food, the drinks, and staff.

I really enjoyed dining at S&P Oyster Restaurant. They are right on the river next to the drawbridge. You can watch the bridge open and close and the boats going by. The service was amazing and the food was delicious! All the vegan choices made it difficult to decide! I had the Beet and Avocado Tartare as an appetizer, the Stuffed Red Pepper for my main dish, and an amazing vegan mousse with coffee for dessert. Every bite was so delicious I didn't leave anything on my plate! Make reservations ahead of time because it's difficult to get a table if you just drop in!

Really enjoyed a Monday lunch. The calamari was very flavorful and cooked perfectly we split a salad and I had the seared scallops with the couscous there was a nice piece of feta in the middle of the couscous and it was wonderfully creamy our waiters were knowledgeable and pleasant. We also had the shrimp and blue corn fritters. We didn't really need the desert but it was wonderful we split the flourless chocolate cake

Just stopped by for a cocktail as wanted to sit by the water with outside seating. No seats outside so sat upstairs at the bar the overlooking the water. Had some oysters and Martini's. The bartender was great, she was very personable. Enjoyed talking to others sitting next to us. Atmosphere upstairs was great. Will try dinner there next time. Definitely a must try in the area. Very cool watching drawbridge in operation.

What can I say!? Very warm welcome, only a short wait of 15 minutes. The atmosphere is very warm and calm. As for the food, it's delicious. The meat is cooked to perfection, and the mashed potatoes are perfect. Despite their broken English, the servers adapted, thank you to them. Go there without delay.

Mango's Wood-Fired Pizza Co. is a unique pizza restaurant located in Mystic, Connecticut, offering a comfortable setting with both indoor and outdoor seating. The heart of the restaurant is an open kitchen centered around a large wood-burning oven used to create fresh-baked bread for sandwiches and pizza dough made from scratch using traditional methods and simple ingredients. The menu features thin-crust pies, craft beer, artisan pizza, and locally sourced ingredients, reflecting a strong community focus.
Excellent wood fired pizza restaurant, offering a wide variety of toppings. They have pies on the menu, but also offer a build your own pizza option so you can exactly what you want. Pizza is either 12 or 16 inch pies, so you can share or have your own. They offer a wide assortment of local beers as well some mainstream brands. Food was excellent! Only minor issue is that the take-out orders are made at the same time and in the same small oven, so you may have to wait a bit for your order, depending on the volume of take out orders. Our server was excellent and apologized for the delay caused by the take out orders.

Mangoes woodfired pizza Company offered quick friendly service in a spacious environment located in old Mystic village. With plenty of seating inside and out, we did not wait for a table. Our server was attentive and quick to take our orders we opted for the buffalo wings which were crispy and delicious and two cheese pizzas that definitely satisfied. Worth a visit when you’re in an old Mystic village.

We found a pizza place we liked today, in Olde Mystik Village. My pizza had a crust that was thin, yet not wimpy; it was firm, but not burnt. Ralph's sandwich was made from pizza dough bread and was filled with huge meatballs. We'd like to go back again.

Old Mystic Village, Sat. afternoon for lunch. Very busy but not a long wait to get seated. Seating inside or out. In side at a table or bar seating. Sat down, very busy, bustling with waitresses, doing all the jobs. We ordered the shark bites and the jake pizza. Heard a lot of good things about there pizza. The crust thin, crunchy and honestly a very good pizza and the jake was very tasty. Our waitress was busy but ontop of everything. This is not a fast food place, took a bit but it was worth the wait. You will see in the house rules that good things come to those who wait. Would come again, maybe not on a Sat. afternoon. Their is only two bathrooms, there was a line and the bathrooms are huge, could have put stalls to make it more efficient but no other complaints. This is not a quiet place but was able to still have a conversation without shouting. Redo place. It is handicap accessible

We were towards the end of our trip, so we ordered a pie to eat on the way home. The have a large selection on the menu from pizza, to salads, and even burgers. We loved the pizza. It was made perfectly and the flavor was great! On another occasion, we will definitely come back to sit and eat in!

Nestled along the picturesque New England coast, Sea View Snack Bar is a charming family-owned counter-service spot that offers delightful views of the Mystic River. This beloved eatery is the perfect place to indulge in classic seafood fare while soaking up the coastal atmosphere. Their menu features an array of mouthwatering options, including succulent lobster rolls filled with tender claw meat and creamy mayonnaise, as well as fried clam, scallop, and shrimp platters that are sure to satisfy any seafood lover's cravings.
We ordered the lobster roll and 3 orders of fish (flounder) and chips. The lobster roll was fabulous! The bun was lightly buttered and toasted and the lobster salad had big chunks of claw and tail meat. The fish and chips was also very good. The fries were plentiful and hot, but a bit bland. The view is beautiful a a the atmosphere is fun and family-friendly. Service was quick! We are definitely glad we stopped!

First time here, but I get the mixed reviews now. The lobster roll was a decent size; the meat was thick and juicy, but as for the flavor, it lacked. There was a slight taste of dill, mayo and celery, but that was about it. It needed some more seasoning. A little more salt, pepper, a spritz of lemon and maybe some butter. The fries were good; crispy outside and soft inside. The coleslaw was good as well. The calamari and crab cakes were okay. Basic fried calamari and crab cakes, but they didn’t taste burnt or like it was fried in old oil. Overall it was edible and the portions were good. As for the atmosphere and service, I have no complaints. Great views and good service. I’d go back again.

Best lobster roll I’ve ever had. First time on the east coast so this place did not disappoint! Come for the fantastic harbor views and the freshest tasting food. Bread was perfectly buttered, and I loved that the lobster itself was marinated in their specialty sauce. I hate when lobster rolls are dry or they skimp on the meat. Not this place! Overall 10/10 experience!

The views were gorgeous and peaceful, the restaurant was adorable, and the food was absolutely incredible. We had the lobster roll and clam chowder for lunch and it was some of the best food I’ve ever had. There are tons of outdoor seating along the bay and plenty of parking when we went. Put this place on your list for sure! I lost my ID there and the staff mailed it back to me. Who does that? The kind of people that work at Sea View Snack Bar do!

Great stop at the Sea View for lunch. We had the lobster BLT, scallop roll, scallop dinner and Calimari dinner. The fried items were lightly fried. Everything tasted excellent. Beautiful view. Happy to come back!
Beth O — Google review
Fair on all accounts. Although the photo looks like a lot of lobster in the lobster BLT, it was truly a small amount. Pricey for what you get with 2 tiny slivers of bacon. Flavorful small bun well flavored with buttery crust. The clam fritters were inexpensive and not something any of the four of us would ever get again. All breading with almost no clams in them. We all wanted the clam dinner, but couldn't handle paying the high prices they wanted. Onion rings as an upcharge as a side was also disappointing as they were thin rings with bland breading. None of us were impressed with the meals due to the prices. The view was nice, but the wasps and bees were constantly flying around the condiments area.

Whenever I come to Mystic, I always stop here. We’ve been coming since was a kid, and the food has never changed. They have the same menu as they did before, and for a very good reason. Their food is amazing, and has a great taste. We absolutely LOVE their clam chowder. It has a great taste and it is just perfect! My wife loved the shrimp and it has a great view of the water. Weather you go during the day or at night, you’ll have a nice view. The benches outside are perfect to sit back and enjoy your food. They have a very large menu with many things to choose from. We love stopping here, and will do it again next time we’re around!

Food was good. We had a clam roll sandwich, clam chowder and a lobster roll sandwich. Bread was toasted and buttery. Lobster roll had a touch of dill, not my favorite but still very good. Clam roll was in a toasted and buttered roll with a nice crunch to the clams.

Quality all around!!! Service was great, food was outstanding and the seating was spaced to quite a comfortable distance both inside and outside. We had to wait for a table both times for breakfast, but well worth it. Cheese Omelette was superb, bacon is delicious, chocolate chip pancakes were not too sweet, but they were damn good. Eggs cooked just right. Heck even the multi-grain toast was good. Really nice establishment and would go here for breakfast anytime, they serve lunch too and I'll bet that is done right as well, let you know next time...

Decided to try this place on a whim, and oh boy it did not disappoint! I got the egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a biscuit, and my mom got the avo and egg sandwich on a bagel. Also a side of home fries. Everything was delicious! Eggs were cooked to order, the bagel and biscuit were super fresh, and the home fries were perfectly seasoned. We also got the pumpkin butterscotch scone to go and that is amazing!! Nice outdoor seating area, and the indoor dining looked spacious. Please give this place a try, my experience was fantastic!

Enjoyed a nice breakfast here two days in a row while visiting Mystic! We were there early morning both days - so it was not busy. Service was good and food was excellent! Loved the Bacon skillet, fresh fruit plate, sandwiches, and pancakes. Sweet potato hash was not my flavor preference (heavy pepper overbearing the sweetness), but could appeal to others. Nice outdoor seating area and convenient location in the Old Mistick Village!

Really nice breakfast spot that had been suggested to us, and I am happy we checked it out. A very clean and happening spot. A interesting menu, a little different than your typical breakfast spot. They are also make their own pastries. A nice selection of shakes And smoothies as well. The portions were generous and the price was fair. The staff was so nice and friendly. There is plenty of parking in the parking lot as it’s in an area with other businesses. A great place to fuel up before a long day in Mystic!

3.5 Stars…My son and I came here after his dentist appt. It was our first time at the new location. We walked in and were promptly seated outside (the inside is very bare). We sat there for 14 minutes before the waitress finally stopped and asked if we were being helped. She was very apologetic, and immediately took our food and drink order. I had the Lobster Grilled Cheese, which was amazing, and an iced chai, which was ok. My son got a Lobster Roll, but we were very disappointed to see it was served on a hot dog bun and not a split-top New England Roll, which is how most NE Lobster Rolls are served (I’m from the area, so I know my Lobsta’ Rolls 😉). He also ordered an Orange Creamsicle smoothie that tasted like ice. There was hardly any orange flavor at all. It was super bland. The waitress gave us an Orange Creamsicle Macaroon as an apology for making us wait so long, which I thought was sweet (it was a REALLY good macaroon). Overall, the place isn’t bad. We’d go back as there are other things I would like to try on the menu, but as far as this particular visit, it was just ok.

We enjoyed the experience immensely and would definitely come back. The house made sourdough bread was solid and came with an incredible sweet potato & rosemary butter. The bucatini was life-changingly good. So many complex flavors; ultra creamy; lots of umami from the mushrooms and cheese (Mystic Cheese Finback). The Painted Hills Beef Strip Steak was an excellent dish overall. The steak itself was cooked perfectly medium rare, but given the cut of beef wasn’t anything super special. However, it was perfectly paired with a meaty seacoast mushroom, shishito peppers, and delightful potato mille feuille with bearnaise espuma. The Big Gurl burger was massive and served with a giant portion of crispy onions. The burger had an excellent crust and was thick and juicy on the inside. The “thicc” tomato certainly was thick, and it was perfectly ripe and delicious. The shallot bacon jam, blue cheese, and dijonaise all added nice flavors and complexity. The flourless chocolate cake was a perfect end to the meal. The cake was rich and fudgey. The chocolate caramel ice cream butterscotch espuma, and caramel & chocolate crunchies were perfect accompaniments to add contrasting textures.

This is by far one of my favorite experiences dining out. The atmosphere is cozy, not pretentious. The service is top notch. And the food is incredible. My server (sorry I didn't remember her name) asked what I looked for in a good wine and suggested the perfect one. Maybe a bit too perfect because it went down too smoothly! I ordered the Local Black Sea Bass Crudo as an appetizer, it was beautiful to look at and each bite was better than the first. I had the Roasted Seacoast Mushroom as my entree. The flavor was superb. I didn't leave anything behind. For dessert I had the Concord Grape Sorbet and an espresso martini which they subbed the cream with oat milk since I cannot have dairy. The restaurant and the service made my birthday celebration an amazing experience! I highly recommend dining here for any special occasion!

Fantastic restaurant! Came here for happy hour with one of my friends and we loved it! This place has been on our list since one of the chefs is a James Beard Award winner. And let me tell you, this place did not disappoint! We made reservations for a Thursday evening at 5:30pm. As the first people there is was fairly empty, but during our 2 hour stay it got busy. I recommend making a reservation. The space has ample seating and the decor is very nice. We decided to participate in happy hour which means all the appetizers and oysters were 50% off! Such a good deal, everything we got was less than $75 total. The crispy oysters was too die for! I would definitely get those again along with the deviled eggs. In addition, we got the shishito peppers, duck pate, sourdough bread w/ miso butter, 2 cocktails of the day, and mushroom buccinti. Everything was so wonderfully crafted and all the flavors blended well together. I would definitely go back.

Went on a Sunday evening to celebrate our anniversary and it was absolutely fabulous. Alex our server and Ryan the somm were so hospitable and determined to make us feel special. The tasting menu and wine pairing was amazing, one of the best I’ve had in recent memory. We’ll definitely be back!

My husband and I went for brunch on my birthday, as sort of a capstone for a decadent weekend of good eats. I didn’t want anything too heavy and just got their poached chicken Cobb salad with a side of the housemade hash brown, husband got their benedict. I didn’t try his, but he said it was delicious. Mine was too - they used a vinaigrette type of dressing that was perfectly light, with super fresh greens and perfectly cooked chicken. The hash brown was beautifully crispy on the outside but soft on the inside and tasted divine. I did also get a flat white - note they can do decaf espresso drinks and have oatmilk as their nondairy option. It wasn’t the best but also not the worst flat white I’ve ever had. I didn’t taste the oatmilk the first few sips, mentioned it to my server, and they were kind enough to replace the drink just in case - it turned out the oatmilk they use has a surprisingly subtle taste. 🤷🏻‍♀️ We’d come across this place via a YouTuber who did their tasting menu. We’ll definitely come back to try their dinner menu the next time we’re in the area but also do more of their brunch (hello French toast? Maple brandy cinnamon bun?? House made biscuits???? Swoon.) We got super lucky with street parking. The Whaler’s Inn, which this restaurant is attached to, has its own parking lot but we weren’t sure if we could park there since we weren’t guests of the inn.

So this review is going to a little longer than most I post. This restaurant has a lot of press about it and boasts a beautiful setting. It was very busy when we came in and we waited to sit at the bar. The menu is very pretentious and so are the prices- but I knew that going in. The oysters were nice but pairing it with a $22 small pour of wine was tough to deal with. The pasta was a huge miss. Lots of places in CT make pasta and do it better. There was zero marriage of the ingredients in the sauce. I enjoyed the tuna tartar but the best part of it was the crispy potato it sat on. I looked over the very sparse dessert options and settled on a lovely Reposado Tequila that our awesome bartender suggested. Way too pricey to walk out the door still hungry. I didn't hate it but not worth the hype. The people watching was fun however.

Nestled in the charming Olde Mistick Village, Alice in the Village is a whimsical tea shop and gift store that brings the enchanting world of Lewis Carroll's "Alice in Wonderland" to life. As you approach, you'll be greeted by an exterior adorned with faux floral window frames and a nod to Disney's classic film. Inside, the cozy atmosphere captivates visitors with delightful decor that immerses them in this fantastical realm.
Such a cute cafe, I love the decor and Alice in Wonderland theme. The tea was good 8.5/10. I got a matcha, which wasn't the best but it could have been worse, 6.5/10. Overall I give this cafe a 4.5/5 ⭐️

My review currently is based upon decorations and theme, as I didn't try either the tea or desserts. I am a huge Alice in Wonderland fan and this little shop made my heart so happy. It is absolutely gorgeous and worth a visit if you are in the area. There are so many details and it is obvious how much love has gone into making this place as beautiful as it is. I can't wait for a return trip to try the food and drinks Highly recommend for any Alice fans.

We were around for a festival & HAD to come here for the cute decor.. also needed to try their tea of course. I personally loved the taste of mine. It wasn’t too sweet & was very cute. The service workers here are very kind & helpful with the menu. Good recommendations! The building itself is just aesthetically pleasing. They separate the room where you order & where you pick up your drink. Ideally, not somewhere you really stay in and enjoy your drink since it’s pretty small indoors Try it!

This place came up for places to visit when we went to Mystic, and my wife was really interested in it. So we decided to make a stop and check it out. The place is named after Alice in wonderland. They have a menu full of different kinds of tea. They also had a section full of Lilo & Stitch items that were available for purchase. I think they change what they have depending on what’s popular. It has some very nice decorations and some snacks to have with tea

Super cute little tea shop in the Olde Mystic Village. The aesthetic is cute and the menu items looked plentiful. The interior design is beautiful and we really enjoyed our time there. The staff is friendly and quick to help. Now for my standard comments. Location is well kept and clean.

Came back here in July, the prices are pretty pricy. But what you were getting was definitely worth going! The macaroons were so pretty and tasted so good!! The drinks were excellent too! I also couldn’t get enough of the decoration here too, it really makes you feel like you’re in Wonderland. Will definitely be coming back!

Barley Head Brewery is a charming nano-brewery nestled in the heart of historic downtown Mystic. The brewery offers a rotating selection of craft beers made with locally sourced ingredients, ensuring a unique and high-quality experience for visitors. With its cozy atmosphere and warm hospitality, Barley Head Brewery provides the perfect setting to savor their diverse beer flavors. Whether you're a fan of hoppy brews or prefer something more mellow, this brewery has something to satisfy every palate.
A great nanobrewery with fun and friendly staff. They had 8 beers on draught when we arrived but they have limited capacity so the beers are always changing and they may not have as many. Such fun and varied beer styles. They only have a hot pretzel for food (which we're got and enjoyed) but you can bring food in. They have a small indoor space, but a good sized beer garden / patio. If you're on the patio, they'll fetch you a new beer as needed so you don't have to go in and out.
Bruce J — Google review
Can only judge off one beer. Down in an old building, the atmosphere is average and smaller selection of beers. More IPA brews with some other flavors. I had the brown that was ok without the depth I was hoping. The Viking was average in flavor too.

8.27.22 I'm not a beer expert so I'm reviewing based on my taste and the atmosphere. I love this place. This was my 2nd visit and both times the staff has been helpful and friendly. The indoor area is tiny and dark but definitely cool vibe. We grabbed our beers and sat outdoors. 1st time with my boyfriend who loves the lighter beers. This time with my friend who likes the cider type beers. And I'm a stout girl. They had 2 today and yum. Sitting outdoors is just chill. Relaxing and fun to people watch while you sip a cold one. Some people were there on dates. Others with little kids. Some even played cards. This is a definite stop if you're in the area.

Nanobrewery hidden in the basement - super quaint spot, not a lot of seating inside & no food offerings except chips & pretzels. The gal behind the bar was friendly. Beer selection was ok. We sampled both the apple & peach Whittle Farms fruit ales & went with a pint of the peach. the sample size was better tasting...the pint was meh. This place isn't for us.
M L — Google review
I love the atmosphere of this brewery down in the basement of an old mill (or factory, it's rustic). Beer selection was limited but not a knock against this brewery as I figured that they are limited on production. I really liked the sour called Up Gose The Bridge. Hoping for more great things from this brewery.
Donovan M — Google review
They have bag/coat hangers on the bars! Small space that they make really good use out of. It's right off of the main drag, so it's both accessible and relaxing. The bar is just below grade so it's comfortable and quiet. Good tasting beers with a good variety without relying on gimmicks.

It was super hard to figure out what beer to order because they were all amazing. Small, cozy, board games, cool off a bit.. this place is a hidden gem with great service and some of the tastiest small batch beers I've had in a long time.

Donut shop
Young Buns Doughnuts is a popular doughnut spot that opens at 7 am and closes when they sell out, usually around 3 pm. The doughnuts are made from scratch daily and offer unique flavors like chocolate-orange. They have also collaborated with Outer Light Brewing Company to create a special beer inspired by their gourmet doughnuts. Young Buns Doughnuts is brought to you by the same family behind Sift Bake Shop, known for their creative take on classic treats.
I absolutely loved this place. It’s not just a clever play on words. The donuts are amazing. Few tables inside, 2 benches outside. Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean inside. They are open Thursday through Monday, 7am to 3pm. Closed Monday and Tuesday. They close early when they sell out for the day. Not sure how often it happens. If they way they taste is any indication, they must close early every day. We got a few different kinds to try. My hands down favorite was the Cannoli Donut. To start, it was heavy, meaning weight wise. It’s loaded with delicious chocolate chip cannoli cream. The actual donut was delicious. Very soft and fresh. Another good choice was Salted Carmel Cheesecake. Another delicious filling. We also tried a few donut holes including chocolate peanut butter, maple glazed, and regular glazed. Chocolate peanut butter was the best of those. If you are in Mystic, Young Buns is a must.
Andrew I — Google review
Young Buns Doughnuts in Mystic is a delightful little gem that elevates the doughnut experience to new heights. From the moment we walked in, the cozy, inviting atmosphere and the sweet aroma of freshly baked doughnuts had us hooked. Each doughnut was beautifully crafted, with flavors that felt both nostalgic and innovative. We tried the Cardamom Crunch, Maple, Vanilla Glazed, and Cinnamon Sugar doughnuts, and every single one was fantastic in its own way. The Cardamom Crunch was a standout, with a warm, aromatic spice that paired beautifully with a crispy topping—unique and addictive! The Maple had a subtle sweetness, balancing the deep, rich flavor of maple with a perfectly fluffy texture. The Vanilla Glazed was classic and comforting, with a smooth glaze that made every bite melt in our mouths. And the Cinnamon Sugar? It was simple yet superbly executed, with a perfect cinnamon-sugar balance coating a light, airy doughnut that tasted like the best childhood memory. To go along with the doughnuts, we each ordered a vanilla latte. The coffee was rich and smooth, with just the right amount of vanilla to complement our treats. It was clear that Young Buns takes pride in not just their doughnuts but also in their coffee—truly a complete experience! Young Buns is one of those places you’ll find yourself craving and wanting to come back to, especially with such a variety of flavors that celebrate both traditional and unique tastes. Whether you’re grabbing a quick treat or sitting down to enjoy a latte and a few flavors, Young Buns is a must-visit spot in Mystic that brings doughnut indulgence to a new level. Highly recommend!

Big donuts price range are about $3-$4 each. We had banana pudding, young bun and regular glazed. They were all yummy, but glazed takes the prize!
Awilda J — Google review
These were some of the best donuts I’ve ever had, hands down. They had a range of creative flavors, peach jelly and a blueberry cake with a blueberry glaze, along with standards like chocolate glazed and cinnamon sugar. The donut holes were enormous and came in many flavors. The shop is on the Main Street running through downtown Mystic and has a pair of benches on the sidewalk. It was a perfect spot for breakfast early on a beautiful spring morning. They’re pricier than your chain shop but the taste and quality are worth it. I ordered a half dozen donuts and a half dozen donut holes, plus a large coffee. Total was about $26.

Absolutely delicious!!! We ordered two iced coffees with almond milk to our specific liking and were delivered without compromise!! We also got two donuts; the young buns and a blueberry cake. At some point Adam Young is gonna make a dessert I don't like, right? Maybe not. Doesn't seem likely. These donuts are fantastic! I had this incredible plum apricot jelly filled donut that was out of this world. The place smells amazing, the staff inside was super nice in helping us decide. Fresh donuts were being churned out nonstop. This place is delicious, to fill a donut craving, go here!!

Coogan Farm Nature and Heritage Center offers a glimpse into the past with its cleared fields, old barn foundations, and meandering stone walls. It's a great spot for a family afternoon with picnic areas and an educational center offering sustainability classes. The property contributes to preserving historical and environmental value in the area. While not stroller-friendly, it provides beautiful, well-marked trails for older kids and families to enjoy.
Good place for a nice family afternoon. Plenty of places to picnic with tables. There are steep steps leading to certain areas of the trail and would be difficult to navigate a jogging stroller solo. Jogging stroller a world be the only type of stroller I'd even attempt to take on the trail, but baby wearing is much easier. I included a picture of the trail map.

Imagine dozens of years ago when the acres of woodsy meadows were cleared fields, chickens and cows milled before towering barns, wagons full of quarried stone jounced along the lanes, nay the “pentways” running between meandering stone walls, and the farmer’s view was unobstructed all the way down the hill to the river. Take a walk here, stand in the foundations of the old barns, imagine.... Don’t miss the little gift shop under the former farmhouse. Great photos of what was, and wonderful buys to be had.

I feel like this is a three and a half. Sure, it was fun going through Mystic, but the prices were just way too high. I know it's scenic and Connecticut, but t-shirts shouldn't cost thirty-five dollars and simple paper weights were nearly twenty dollars. It's not a bad historic site at all with the bridge and a few parts (I posted pictures of the bridge in its own section), but the stores are overly glamorous and high-priced. It is all fancy clothes and higher end objects. Mystic Village is more reasonable, but they are even pretty high priced.

Disability discrimination is always extremely disappointing and very upsetting. She would say I was rude, unkind, maybe even nasty. But the story is… upon entering the store I was asked for the certificate for my service dog. My husband and I informed the shop owner that by the US Justice Department ADA Guidelines there is no certification for service dogs. She insisted there was. My husband showed her the ADA(Americans with Disabilities Act) website information. She then stated there is a Connecticut law that requires a certificate for service dogs. She was informed that Connecticut can not and does not have a law that requires a certification for service dogs. She argued that and I of course became very upset. We requested she show us documentation of the law she was referring to. Now at this time, and not until at this point did, she stated she has a “severe dog allergy”. Exposing her chest to show scars from previous allergic reactions. So when she was unable to substantiate her claim of requirements for certification, she reported the dog allergy. Unfortunately, at this point she had upset me and I was angry, obviously from her making untrue claims that were basically discriminatory. If she had only started our interactions with honestly sharing her severe dog allergy, I would have been more than willing to stay outside of the store while my husband shopped inside for me. I’m not an awful, belligerent or unkind person. But I will stand up for my rights to go into public places with my service dog without showing a certification that doesn’t exist and is not required by the ADA guidelines. So I had a miserable experience the night before my birthday and all I wanted was some candy 🍭

Stopped in on a slow Monday in Mystic. Was able to check things out and try their ice cream, truffles, coffee, and even found a cute gift for the person that was watching the house. Kathy was friendly and offered good suggestions. The white chocolate cappuccino was excellent. It was like a hug in a cup. Ice Cream is made in house with fresh milk from local dairy. That alone merits trying some Fudge is made in house. I had the pralines fudge. It tastes as good as it looks. And it looked amazing. I was promised it was calorie free Monday fudge. Great little spot if you're strolling through town and shopping. Or maybe have lunch and dinner and want to take a stroll and get a desert a little later. Whatever the reason you need, this is a cute little shop that offers something for all appetites.

This is a pretty nifty ice cream and candy store. I got two scoops of the Butter Pecan, which is my favorite flavor and it was really tasty. It was not too sweet. The salt water taffy is great. I'd hate to say it, but it is much better than Coney Island's taffy. If I would have known it was that good, I would have bought more bags. Service was a tad slow, but I overlooked it since the lady waiting on everyone was by herself and she was so nice. I will definitely come back here the next time I am in the area.

We just ate at the pizza place up the road and felt like some ice cream so we headed down to Mystic Sweet Shop however, they had just closed. We saw someone in there and knocked on the window in hopes we could get that ice cream fix. It looked like we were beat so we started to walk off. We took a few steps and suddenly heard the door open. It was Rick one of the owners and he asked us what would we like. This was great, he let us in and we were there for about an hour chatting about candy, ice cream, and life. It was a pretty special experience since it was our first time in Mystic too. All the samples of candy and ice cream were some of the best we'd ever had and I would one hundred percent recommend stopping by here to purchase something, you can't go wrong. Just make sure it's with in the hours they are open lol. Next time we're in Mystic we are definitely going back. Thanks for the wonderful experience Rick.
