This hotel was absolute PERFECTION. From the time of my booking until departure any and everything my partner and I needed was at our fingertips. Property: We booked the Casa Estúdio which was perfect for the two of us. It was located right next to the pool where breakfast was served each morning; however it was still (mostly) private. It was wonderfully appointed with any and everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Location: Uxua is located in the middle of the quadrado. There are many shops and restaurants to chose from. We stumbled upon Osklen (our fav) not realizing they had a location there. It’s also only a 10 minute walk to the beach which is great to see the sunset each day. Service: Really some of the best service we have had EVER. The concierge was available via WhatsApp and attended to our every need within minutes. Every member of the staff was friendly engaging my and helpful. We booked taxis, massages, even a boat trip to Caraiva via them. We plan to return to Uxua whenever we visit Trancoso. Next time we’d love to bring friends and stay at one of their bigger casas with a dedicated pool.

Very cool place right in town with a great beach set up about 15 minute walk from hotel. Breakfast was great and they have good food offered at other times. All the furniture was specifically crafted for the room which made everything very unique. Definitely a solid job creating a rustic luxury vibe. We paid $400+ USD a night so was not pleased they nickeled and dimed us over the Nespresso in the hotel room. Also the AC is not strong but that is to be expected as the room was large and the windows didn’t really shut well. Mosquito net over the bed worked very well.

This is a perfect hotel in all meaning and well located in the cuadrado of Trancoso. The bungalows are inserted in the nature, which it is a very pleasant experience. The room was spacious, clean, super nicely decorated, with a great balcony to chill and relax. The breakfast was vary and delicious. The staff is very helpful and ready to orient and help. The beach is 15 minutes by walk from the hotel and you will always have a bed waiting from you. The food at the beach is delicious. Highly recommended.

I stayed here from 15Nov to 17Nov. First time visiting Trancoso and Uxua made the memory unforgettable. All the concierge and staffs are kind and have warm smile. Breakfast was sofisticated Brazil style and especially spa signature massage was fantastic. Highly recommend. At the uxua praia, fish taco was one of the best!

Wonderful place, beach close to the hotel. Great food, the hotel have an unique decoration. I super recommend and will be back for sure!

We ate at the restaurant on our honeymoon and it was a very good meal. As many suggest, make sure you get the shrimp dumplings. The caipirinhas are also probably the best we’ve had, especially the banana and cinnamon one. Our entrees were good not great. The service was excellent though and amongst the top two restaurant experiences we had in Trancoso.

Delightful garden setting. Wonderful service, fabulous menu, and delicious food. The local cheese pies as an appetiser with sugar cane molasses for an appetizer were delicious. I loved my fish and shrimp stew in red curry sauce. Best yet are their desserts. We enjoyed their house special of three tasting pudding served cleverly as a blended deconstructed mix, delicious.

I just had the most amazing dinner here tonight. They start you off with a shot of holy grass, pineapple, and lime which is incredible. We then went for drinks, “Tangerine and pitanga leaves with Smirnoff” and “Pineapple, holy grass and lemon with artisanal cachaça” caipirinhas. Both so delicious and refreshing! I felt like their flavors kept improving with each sip! We got the Curd Cheese Pastel and Cassava Dumpling with Shrimp for appetizers, and we loved both! My first time having a pastel and dumpling like the ones here! Two of my favorite things made in completely new ways to me. I loved every bite! And the sauces that came with each were mind blowing! A sweet one with the pastels and a spicy one with the dumplings. For the main dish we got the Baked fish in yogurt and the Flambéed Shrimp in Vodka. I was in heaven! The baked fish in yogurt was the best fish I had ever had in my life! Every bite had me in disbelief how it could have that much flavor! The shrimp was fantastic too! The pineapple in that dish was PERFECT with the rest of the ingredients. They really matched everything to perfection! Finally for dessert we got the Capim Santo Tasting. Every piece was pure joy! I had a hard time deciding between desserts, but I know I made the right choice with this unique and incredible dessert! We also got a holy grass tea which was the best way to finish the night. I am gonna be dreaming about my meal tonight and who knows how many nights after now! This is a must return for me. I 100% plan to visit any other location they have and to recommend them to anyone who will listen. The staff were all warm and welcoming and so friendly. I don’t speak much Portuguese, but between my poor Portuguese, my fiancée’s perfect Portuguese, and their English, we were always working things out and having a good time! Food was incredible. Staff is the loveliest. Make sure you try the capim santo dessert and the banana pie. The watermelon, pitanga and lime juice was also to die for. Big flavour in simplicity there. Super cute atmosphere and live Brazilian music.

What an absolutely beautiful experience! My wife & sister in law (who are Brazilian) and myself + two friends (all American) stayed here for the last week and absolutely loved it. Everything about the stay was great: hospitality, accommodations, FOOD, and of course the location itself. The staff at Capim Santo are top notch and were beyond helpful during the entire trip. They helped us plan many of our outings (UTV trip to a village about 1.5 hours away, ocean boating, etc). You could eat every meal at a different restaurant in the area and never eat at the same place twice! There are so many options for food and drink within a 5 minute walk, while also not being built up or over crowded. The perfect blend of relaxation and convenience. Capim Santo is a 1 minute walk from the main square and about 5 minutes to the famous church. In addition, being vegan I was concerned it might be challenging to find dishes but this was not the case at all. Not only does Capim Santo have dedicated vegan & vegetarian options right on the menu, nearly every restaurant in the area has vegan options or can take out milk or butter to accommodate. (Either the items are already marked accordingly, or they simply are by default vegan!) 10/10 would love to come and visit again!

DELICIOUS DINNER- we recently had a great meal at Capim Santo. First you are greeted with a palate cleansing juice. We then ordered 3 different appetizers (the Burrata and ceviche were our favorites). We then all had lobster. The drinks were great as well. There was live music for night which really added to the relaxing ambiance of the restaurant. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful.

I am rushing to write this review because of an exceptional service and attention by 2 of the attendants at the restaurant -Jean and Pedro. On a day in December 2021, we were unfortunate to get caught in an unexpected small cyclone at Porto Seguro. So on an evening with limited electricity and slight chaos, this gentlemen provided a great level of service and detail. And yes, the food was amazing and delicious

The only helpful person there is Yolanda other then her everyone is out discussion, the first night we have to call the receptionist to lower down the music was around 1am and we where trying to sleep because we came to trancoso to rest and recharge and a good hotel , but we got the contrary , loudness and disrespectfullnes , the last night which was yesterday we have to call again and this time was a bunch of people screaming and with loud music was 3 am and after we call they raise their voices and the music and when we ask if the can lower down the say they where with the general manager someone call Vladimir which this is crazy how a general manager allow this behavior and not thinking in the rest of the guest , this was my braking point and I’m so disappointed of This place that I will never recommend it or visit again

The service, ohhh the service is terrible!!! I went to this restaurant on recommendation of friends, the food was good but you can find good food anywhere in Trancoso. The place is beautiful but servers will literally kill your vibe, so don’t waste your money there! They basically drop their code menu in front of you and never come back. Two people left without being helped while we were waiting for our meal.

The waiter and chef dismissed it. Service also disappointing. Servers couldn't care less if I wanted a coffee or desert after the mediocre dinner. For the same price I can eat at excellent restaurants in Sao Paulo. Do yourself a favor and have your dinner at Villas de Trancoso. I'm never returning to El Gordo restaurant. 😡

Rather disappointing.... Very nice setting and cool design, but service is slow and the taste of the food was not at all what I expected. Not much taste and not a nice presentation. Lobster with truffles had no truffles at all and swam in a fatty blant sauce. Meat was overcooked... And the bill came to +600 reais for two... There are a lot better options in Trancoso.

We had a wonderful stay here. The villas are beautiful and the staff is exceptionally attentive, especially Vitor the concierge. It's very safe and they have security patrolling through the night. Very close to the town square and short walk to beach. The breakfast is fantastic. We were sad to leave. I don't know if we'll have the chance to return to Trancoso, but if we do, we'll stay at Etnia again!

Was a brilliant experience. We were in room 10 with our own private infinity pool so who could complain! Service was always great, with free Brigadeiro and popcorn on command with a great afternoon tea, breakfast until 1PM with an excellent selection, and a great bar at night. They can also do an iced coffee which hits the spot with the few us that enjoy it 😂. Only suggestion would be they should have a “Do not disturb” sign on the door as every time we left, they made our bed when sometimes our room was in a place that we didn’t want them to come in 😅😂. Was done with good intention though and a candy on the bed each time so can’t fault that either! A free 20 minute massage as well for each of us and some beautiful touches for it being our honeymoon. Obrigado Hotel Bahia Bonita! In terms of Trancoso, would recommend to couples, especially in the offseason if you like it a bit more secluded. :)

Charming boutique hotel super close to the “Quadrado " with excellent service and a must-have afternoon tea. The free transfer to the near by beaches and beach clubs makes the stay in this hotel complete.

One of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. Beautiful rooms and outdoor areas, delicious and well-thought out breakfast, good location (at Nativos Beach, and 10 min by car from Quadrado). My husband and I traveled here with our daughters, ages 8 and 3, for some mellowing out after busier legs of our trip in Rio and Salvador. This place is out of the way but absolutely worth it. The beach is stunning, amazingly uncrowded, and swimmable, and the resort maintains an impeccable setup of beach chairs/toys and food service. The resort is flawlessly run: it doesn't have huge capacity so it doesn't feel crowded, the restaurant (especially buffet breakfast) is lovely. Most of all, the team of folks who manage and care for this resort are so friendly and helpful, including with recommendations and assistance for things to do in Trancoso, a ridiculously charming little beach town. We were especially grateful to Gabi, Lainhe, Renata, Tom, Luis, Aquile (probably spelling that wrong) and many others. They were so attentive and thoughtful, they did things like remember our (picky) children's food preferences from one day to the next, and pack us a little picnic when we decided to take a longer walk down the beach. Our accommodations were also just right - a 2-bedroom villa with both a queen and twin bed in the kids' room, plus a porch with ample seating and two hammocks! This place is a true gem - would love to return here some day, and could not recommend it more highly!

I visited with a day pass to the beach bar area. Everything was perfect. The staff are so helpful, location is beautiful on a quiet part and of the beach. Food tasty too. I 100% recommend as a day guest.
