Hotel
Esplendor by Wyndham El Calafate is an upscale hotel located on Libertador Avenue in El Calafate, offering stunning views of Argentino Lake. The 4-star property features 57 guestrooms with modern interiors, minibars, and LCD televisions. Situated in the heart of Argentine Patagonia, this boutique hotel embraces contemporary design elements inspired by the surrounding nature.
I am surprised that my review is so enthusiastic because I really didn’t expect it to be. In El Calafate, I first stayed at a completely different hotel, where I was disappointed with the quality of the rooms, the service, and the inability to communicate with the staff, who spoke only Spanish—despite the hotel having the same four-star rating. I booked Esplendor literally at the last minute, almost from one hour to the next, and to this day, I believe it was a great decision. The hotel offers beautiful rooms with stunning views and is located very close to the city center, making it easy to walk to dinner or shopping. Another great feature is the heated pool, which is perfect for colder days. I had dinner at the hotel restaurant twice and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dishes and how delicious they were. The staff is excellent and speaks good English, which makes the stay much more comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to El Calafate.

A beautiful hotel. Great swim area and bar. Eggs and sweets for breakfast and also boxed lunches for day trips. We had a great check in and a poor checkout so that is the only reason I am not giving this place a perfect 5. Walkable to everywhere.
Elle H — Google review
Lovely hotel located very conveniently to the main street in town, about a 10 minute walk (although note that it’s uphill on the way back). One of the nicest, if not the nicest hotel in town. Excellent service from absolutely everyone. Good restaurant with a nice menu. The food was generally good. The shrimp were delicious, I drank the sauce with a spoon. Great bar with fun cocktails and a view. Oh, did I mention the view? Super views of the town and the lake from the high perch (uphill, remember?). Has a pool. Now to the only negative: no AC, and the rooms are SUPER hot. Housekeeping closes the windows and shades, so you come back to a hot and stuffy room after a long hike. No fan in the room, although they will send one up on request. Sleeping is very hot and uncomfortable. Aside from that, the rooms a nice and well appointed, sadly the only window is a little small; disappointing, considering the fantastic view.
Nick C — Google review
One of the most beautiful and new hotels in the area. At this prices we were surprised to get such a beautiful room. Swimming pool is also good and nice breakfast. As the business owner I can see who really cared about their place and made it beautiful and who not. Thank you the owner amazing taste :)
Olga S — Google review
Overall nice experience. Lobby is lovely, rooms slightly dated but comfortable and clean. Ok breakfast, free parking. Helped call a taxi to the bus terminal. Spa was a nice touch too. It is slightly out of town but really not that far!
Radhika P — Google review
Super kind and accommodating staff! We’ve stayed at three different places during our trip and this has definitely been the top address. Rooms spacious and clean, decor aesthetic, views superb, and location easy to access including a hotel parking lot (free of charge).
Kelvin — Google review
We stayed for 2 nights. Don’t stay here. Where do I start? - Room was hot and stuffy and did not have air conditioning or even a fan. Sleeping with the window open, we heard all the street noise (traffic and dogs). - Wifi didn’t work at all. - Lunch box sandwich was barely edible (and cost USD 27). - The “taxi” to the airport which the hotel called for us was an unmarked car, likely an illegal/unlicensed taxi. The driver charged us 36,000 pesos (twice the going rate). The driver showed us messages with the hotel showing the price. I wonder if the hotel gets a kickback? Despite the above, room was reasonably clean and had good views of the lake.
James S — Google review
Room size is quite big, no air conditioning and you have to open the window. It was so lousy when windy. The location is in walking distance from city center. Breakfast is variety and delicious. Staffs are nice and helpful.

Nestled in the charming town of El Calafate, Posada Los Alamos offers a delightful blend of comfort and natural beauty. Just a short stroll from local attractions like Gnome Village and the scenic Argentino Lake, this refined hotel is surrounded by lush gardens that create a tranquil atmosphere. Guests can indulge in luxurious spa treatments or take a refreshing dip in the indoor pool after enjoying activities such as golf on their own 18-hole course.
The rooms were fantastic and so clean. The best part by far was the breakfast. They have such a side assortment of breakfast foods to choose from. The staff were so kind and helpful, they assisted us with bringing our bags in and up to our room. I will forever remember our stay at Posada Los Alamos!
Christian L — Google review
Great experience! The staff is very attentive and friendly. The rooms are a little bit small, but very comfortable. The hotel itself has a gorgeous decoration and architecture, it's very charming. It's a couple of blocks away from the main street, so it's very peaceful but at the same time close to the main stores and restaurants. The SPA and pool are very nice too, as well as the hotel restaurant. In summary, our staying was wonderful! I highly recommend it.
Jorge C — Google review
Compared to a lot of the accommodation in the town, this hotel stands out externally as impressive. However, inside it is dated and needs some improvements. We arrived, having booked weeks before, but reception couldn't find our reservation so we were moved to the bar with a coffee while I think they found us a room. The rooms are nice, spacious and have everything, but I wouldn't rave about them. I think the range of very good hostels in town makes this a hard sell, as the hostels offer great, private rooms with en-suite bathrooms and they have way more character and a better service. We thought having a spa and pool would be a massive treat, but the pool has broken tiles, unfinished surfaces and is absolutely filthy. The water was murky with floating bits, and there is a muddy tide mark on the tiles... We only stayed one night and I'm relieved as I would feel ripped off otherwise. I recommend trying a good hostel and getting a private room...cheaper, better service and all round a nicer experience.
Andrew E — Google review
An amazing and beautiful hotel! It has all the amenities you could need including the option to book massages or facials at their spa. The breakfast is the most extensive breakfast I’ve ever had at a hotel. The restaurants in the hotel serve delicious food and all the staff are so friendly. The hotel is an easy walk to the main shopping areas as well.
McKenzie S — Google review
It is really nice—great location, spacious rooms, and a beautiful building. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with lovely garden areas and a relaxing spa that make it a perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring the glaciers.
Javier M — Google review
The location is great as you can walk to the main drag in minutes. However the hotel is quite old and the rooms were very small. Yes it is charming if you live lots of wood and and OG ski lodge feelings but I was not totally wrapped. There is a large indoor pool and big sauna with cold plunge which was excellent and gratis but again the facilities were quite in need of an uplift. So overall a lovely charming well located place but if you are looking for modern or newish then you might look elsewhere. I have to say that the staff were lovely and the breakfast buffet was quite good!
Dov F — Google review
I enjoyed my stay here. Hotel had a great indoor pool that was open until 9pm which was helpful for enjoying in the evening after tours. Breakfast was great and plentiful. Room was clean.
Kevin W — Google review
This is definitely not a 4 or 5 star hotel, I’ll start with that. The rooms are dated, not well kept and the bathrooms are horrendous without proper drainage, quality toiletries, or any kind of ventilation. The front desk is not particularly helpful either to be honest. We asked for robes and slippers and the response was “we only give that out on special occasions and so can’t give it to you” - not sure what that even means. What is really nice about this hotel is the outdoor space. Well kept gardens and location is also central.

Hotel Kosten Aike is a lodge-style accommodation in El Calafate, offering casual yet comfortable rooms. The hotel features an alpine style with 80 rooms including deluxe options, apartments, and suites. Amenities include a bright restaurant, spa, free breakfast, bar, games room, business center, terrace garden, parking lot and tourist information. Additionally, the 'Club Kosten' offers a gym, sauna and jacuzzi for guests to relax in.
This is a great hotel located in the middle of the city. If you want to call it a city. It is a few minutes walk to all the main areas downtown. The rooms are very neat but have a vintage feel to them that's very comfortable
Mark S — Google review
This is a review of the hotel w/o regard of value, as we were here as part of a tour so we don’t know what we’d paid separately. The 4* rating is purposeful. As this is a hotel with good location, good staff, good bones, but could use a substantial interior remodel. The sink and shower faucets appear to be 50 yrs old. The mattress is quite old. The toilet 30-50 yrs old. The locks still need metal keys, etc etc. The window appears relatively new and high end as it opens several ways. Perhaps a big remodel would increase the price.
H C — Google review
Located in El Calafare, it is a good hotel to be used as a base for visiting the glaciers Rooms were spacious and well as insulated. It is not located in the main road of the city, which made a difference in terms of noises, allowing for a good sleep. The bathroom was wide and had all the basics you need. Hot water was instantaneous, and the heating system was very good. Breakfast was simple and reasonable. The bar was open until late and had as well a ping pong table, chess, and other amenities in rooms located next to the lobby. People at the reception and the bar/restaurant were very nice and efficient. Overall a good and nice hotel in El Calafate.
Juan R — Google review
This hotel looks very good, the rooms are spacious with a large bed but it lacks the 4 stars standards. There was no courtesy water let alone a kettle and some coffee or tea, the TV has only has 14 local channels, our was defective and was replaced but at the end there was nothing to be watched. The toilets water tank needed attention, there was no shower gel, only tiny soaps. On the whole it does not give that 4 stars feeling. The breakfast was good and so the personnel. There is also a game area with a pool table.
MP M — Google review
Only the location is good. I was quite disappointed with the overall hotel. They talk about sustainability and don’t provide kettle in the room - however you see plastic everywhere like shampoo bottles etc. just a poor experience
Dipti N — Google review
Hotel is dated and old. There is bar that is located across road which doesn't stop playing music until 2 in morning nearly every weeknight. Was originally mention to the hotel they told me it closes at 12 the reason for music due to public holiday. But on the Tuesday night the music continued at full volume until late. The hotel reply was we can supply with ear plugs. In my opinion I would discourage anyone from staying here. Would be looking for a refund for my stay.
Kevin M — Google review
It's a nice hotel. The included breakfast is very good with many options to choose from. The location is very good, a few minutes walking to the center. The rooms are a bit ordinary and dated for the price. There was a dog outside baking all night.
Yaroslav K — Google review
We stayed here for 2 nights to visit Perito Moreno Glacier. Kosten Aiken is fairly central and tucked away on a side road. This is quite an old place which has been refurbished to a good standard and is extremely clean. It is trying to be environmentally friendly. Lobby is very spacious and there is a great games room with table tennis table which we used. Breakfast is adequate and puddings from their in-house bakery are very good. It doesn't have a great view although the beautiful front border of Lavender is fragrantly welcoming. It is very close to Lago Argentino and the bird watching area with a beautiful promenade. It could be too windy though. In El Calafate stray but incredibly well behaved and well fed dogs accompany you everywhere.

Hotel
Nestled on the picturesque shores of Lake Argentino, Design Suites Calafate offers a serene escape for travelers seeking both relaxation and adventure. This contemporary hotel features stylish rooms that provide stunning lake views, ensuring guests can soak in the natural beauty from various vantage points. Just a short drive from local attractions like Laguna Nimez and Bahia Redonda, it’s perfectly situated for exploring the area.
Incredible place with amazing view, facilities and staff. Love every minute I spent at this place. View from the bedroom is something else especially at sun set. I don't think there is another hotel nearby with better lake view. Breakfast is great with lots of choices. Staff helpful. There is an indoor pool and massage possibilities.
Magdalena K — Google review
Pros: great views of lago Argentino, decent breakfast, our kids loved the pool, and it has a small gym. It’s not near town so you definitely need a taxi to get to/from. Cons: Paper thin walls that we could hear the baby and kids screaming at 6am in the morning, indifferent staff at the reception desk, there’s no real way to open the windows when the rooms got stuffy. Overall would recommend for views but I think there maybe better options in town.
Lea R — Google review
Great Hotel with great stuff!! Little outside of the town so either rent car or taxi is needed to come there. Pool and Gym is there for use. Nice view and bar area. Can recommend to stay there!
Schaal A — Google review
The Design Hotel in many ways added to the wonderful experience we had doing our Patagonian trekking. It was the springboard from El Calafate to all 3-days of our tours. If you’re Asian you’ll appreciate the breakfast buffet that included fried ham chunks and rice. Then at end of the long exhausting day you get a room that’s big and comfortable and most importantly, air-conditioned. Ending the day in their restaurant with an expertly grilled thick Argentinian ribeye steak just hits the spot. A major reason for choosing this hotel is the rooms face a gorgeous view of the snow-capped mountain and turquoise lake. Now for the misses. 1) there is no easy access for a socket beside the bed to charge your device, this is extremely shortsighted for a modern hotel, better yet— install a bedside usb-C charging port 2) there is no full-length mirror and no shaving mirror, what luxury hotel omits these? 3) the room safe was busted and the jacuzzi looked rusty and not well-maintained 4) and lastly the hotel restaurant staff could be more welcoming and friendlier rather than snooty to be truly world-class IMHO, we had reservations but had to wait a long time just to get the place settings, not to mention another long wait just to get the menu.
Bill Y — Google review
Staying at the Design Suites Hotel in El Calafate was, to put it mildly, a massive disappointment. I went in expecting a stylish and comfortable experience, especially given the price, but what I got was far from it. Let's start with the "design." While it might have been chic at one point, the hotel is now showing serious signs of wear and tear. The rooms were falling apart, literally. Things were broken, paint was peeling, and the overall maintenance was shockingly poor. It felt like the hotel had been neglected for years. And the hygiene? Very questionable. The service was equally abysmal. The staff seemed disinterested and unhelpful, and there was a general lack of attention to detail. It felt like they were just going through the motions. My first dinner at the hotel restaurant resulted in severe food poisoning. I was sick for days, which completely ruined my time in El Calafate. It was a truly awful experience. To add insult to injury, we were overcharged on our dinner bill. When we pointed out the discrepancy, the staff argued that the bill was correct, even though we had the menu to prove otherwise. It was a frustrating and unpleasant experience. The only redeeming quality of the Design Suites Hotel is the view. It's truly outstanding, overlooking Lago Argentino and the surrounding mountains. But honestly, the view isn't worth the misery of staying at this place. For the exorbitant price they charge, the Design Suites Hotel is a complete rip-off. There are far better hotels in El Calafate that offer better value for money and a much more pleasant experience. My advice? Avoid this place like the plague. It's a disaster waiting to happen.
Piyush P — Google review
Quit disappointed in many manners. First of all, it is not as luxurious or modern as it appears to be from photos. The view was beautiful, yet the room, and especially the bathroom, was outdated. It's as-if it hasn't been maintained for years. When it comes to the bathtub, there was no indication of hot and cold, which was confusing, and the jacuzzi would emit bad smell from the tubes. Consequently, we did not use it at all. Breakfast was not rich and repeated, very limited choices in terms of savory food. One day we asked the reception to book us a table to a steak house, they said ok, yet we found out that no reservation had ever been made. I guess misunderstanding on this one..? The shuttle is on demand and you have to pre-book. We drunk a water bottle from the mini bar, and (of course) we were charged. For such a high price, I reckon that it is unacceptable that they are cutting the costs from pretty much everything. The whole thing seemed to be just transactional and nothing remotely close to warm. On the good side, apart from the wonderful view, the swimming pool was very nice and not busy.
Eleni D — Google review
Design of the hotel and the rooms is really nice! Big great rooms and great view if on lake side. That’s it unfortunately. Staff is not very and quite lazy, breakfast is poor. Maintenance is terrible which is a real shame as the building is worth good maintenance.
L V — Google review
It'a a beautifully designed hotel with an astonishing view from the lobby/restaurant and any rooms that face the lake. The rooms that face the parking area are the same, albeit a bit noisy with people coming and going. Overall, the hotel is a bit worn and tired. The steam room didn't work, no towels in the pool area, fraying carpet and the like. But not terrible. The staff was quite nice and generally attentive but you'll need to get their attention during any meal/drink service. The breakfast was the weakest of all the hotel we stayed in the area. 4/10 on that. Dinner was decent - 7/10.

The property features bright quarters with private Jacuzzis, king size beds, TVs, Wi-Fi, and minibars. Guests can enjoy stunning views from the indoor/outdoor pool and savor delicious meals at the on-site restaurant overlooking the lake.
We had the chance to stay here for a short time on our trip for our honeymoon. They honored us with a warm gesture. Everything was simply amazing. Our room was overlooking the eye-catching lake view and every hour of the day was even more charming. Although it is a little far from the city center, there is shuttle so we could easily visit this beautiful city in any hours. A very rich variety and delicious breakfast. Always interested and helpful staff. We were saddened that we didn't have the opportunity to stay longer and enjoy other privileges
Aysegul C — Google review
This hotel is more expensive for what you can get compared to other hotels in the area that are the same distance from town. The accommodations were nice, the rooms were nice, and the pool was nice. The gym was very minimal so if you are booking this place because it is one of the few places that has a gym then I would book somewhere else. They seemed short staffed during breakfast and it was hard for them to keep food and plates out. The high light of this place was the view from the pool. The shuttle to downtown was also convenient.
Rebecca M — Google review
This hotel is fair overall. The restaurant was way overpriced and the service was poor. I had to flag down the server several times (she was busy chatting with another server). I had to get up to get a fork. We sent a meal back because it had sand in it. The breakfast was a different story. Good food selection and a very helpful staff. The common area halllway carpets are quite dirty.
Robert B — Google review
Some of the reviews on here are way over the top. The hotel is absolutely fine. It isn't New York or London 5 star but it does well in the tourist category in the wilderness of Patagonia. Rooms are big enough and very clean. Views were lovely. Didn't use the bar or restaurant as other options elsewhere. Didn't use the gym or pool. Both were small but adequate. Breakfast was good. Service overall in the hotel was friendly and helpful. Shuttle bus was always on time.
Craig C — Google review
I was very disappointed. This is not a 4.5* hotel. I found the rooms pretty poor, particularly room 505 right above (4th floor) reception and the adjacent rooms. ** These few rooms are on the open mezzanine over the very loud echo-y reception area and bar. DO NOT stay in this room or adjacent ones if you want a restful stay. ** The walls in all rooms are pretty thin (I could clearly hear TVs on both sides of my 2nd floor room they moved me to). The layout feels a bit serpentine, which is a pain when the room card readers constantly fail, as they did for me an everyone else in my party. It feels like the hotel owners are not putting enough into maintenance. Its run down and dirty. Perhaps the only redeeming bits are that the in-house restaurant and the breakfast were good. Those bits did not outweigh the many, many negatives.
Jim O — Google review
Pros: the rooms are modern and clean, the breakfast buffet has lots of options, and the cleaning staff was very kind as I was very sick for my whole stay. Cons: the bathroom is small and poorly laid out, there is NO soundproofing on the rooms, and the wifi signal is poor across most of the floors

The El Calafate hotel Los Ponchos features warm rooms with Hispanic-American art and views of Lake Argentino. The rooms and bungalow at the hotel are stylish, with modern decor. It is located near Aldea de los Gnomos and Calafate Fishing, in the heart of El Calafate.
Staying at Los Ponchos in El Calafate for three nights was the highlight of our 2 week trip to Argentina! Luciana and her staff were so very kind and attentive. From checking in on us from time to time to make sure we had everything we needed to arranging our dinner reservations for us each night. The property is beautiful, quaint and romantic with lavender all around the outside and clean and beautifully decorated rooms inside; you feel at home as soon as you step inside. We had a mishap with our car while on a day trip and Luciana and the staff were so helpful and comforting. They made all the arrangements for us and ensured we were ok. They treated us like their own family and even had a dinner waiting for us when we eventually made it back to the hotel that night. I could write all day about how amazing Los Ponchos is. We will definitely be coming back! Thank you so much for everything!!

Our stay was excellent, the service is wonderful, they think of every detail. The bed is comfortable, the breakfast is tasty, everyone is very nice. The place is located a bit far from the center, need a taxi to get there (5 mins), but it's not a deal breaker, taxis are cheap and fast.
Alex B — Google review
We really enjoyed our 2 night stay over our honeymoon! The service was spectacular, the hotel is adorable, with incredible attention to details and beautiful views of the lake, and is also very clean. The front desk helped connect us to a guide to trek the Perito Moreno glacier and also called cabs for us when we wanted to go into town or the airport. The food we had at the hotel was delicious (breakfasts and dinner one night). Would highly recommend!
Katie B — Google review
The service here is outstanding. The staff are absolutely second to none. The rooms are very nice but over two levels. There are at least two very good restaurants nearby (couple of minutes walk) and you can arrange dinner at the place. The main town is about 35 minutes walk. Very happy to recommend...
Mark B — Google review
Los Ponchos is a recently opened and very comfortable hotel a little way out of the centre of El Calafate. It is very much of its place, which is what we were looking for. We had a spacious studio apartment, with a great view across Lake Argentina. The reception, concierge and wait staff are very helpful and engaging, breakfasts are delicious and it is possible to have dinner there, which we did on our last night. Food and wine were very good and reasonably priced. We were able to observe local birds while we had breakfast. I can highly recommend it as a comfortable and thoughtfully appointed hotel which has used local art works and crafts in its decor. Also plenty of books about Argentina and Patagonia.
Jeannine J — Google review
Absolutely a lovely hotel. The staff was something out of a fine luxury hotel, friendly and willing to help however possible. We loved our stay and we would recommend staying here 100%

We absolutely loved the tranquility and upscale experience of Los Ponchos. We stayed in the cabina and it was delightful. We were surrounded by blooming lavender and it was so lovely to sit outside and read and also to sip wine at night. The staff were super friendly, the rooms were spotless and the breakfast was wonderful. It was so great to be a tiny little bit out of the hustle and bustle of El Calafate. Abd it’s a 2 minute taxi to town.

The only reason I gave this place one star is because the staff is so so great, however, do not, I repeat DO NOT stay in the Mini Cabin. We stayed in the Mini Cabin located in the back and it is the size of a walk-in closet, it is outdated and you have an excellent view of the back of the hotel. The pictures on Booking or their website will not show you what the view, bathroom and kitchen look like, however, they will show you pictures of the larger “Cabin”, which does not have a view of the lake either. I attached some pictures for you to judge. Don’t be deceived like we were. I was in direct contact with the manager throughout our stay about other options (i.e.staying in the main house or even the attic) and I believe she did not take my concern seriously and ensure we were content. Pretty disappointed with our room even though the staff and El Calafate were amazing!

Hotel Mirador del Lago is a charming lodging option in El Calafate, offering warmly decorated rooms with views of Argentino Lake. The hotel features a restaurant serving smoked meats and fishes, as well as a snack bar for lighter fare. Guests can enjoy the cozy lounge with a fireplace overlooking the lake. Conveniently located near the city center, this unfussy hotel provides an inviting and clean environment for travelers to relax and enjoy their stay.
In A Nutshell: -Hotel Mirador del Lago was an awesome place to stay while in Calafate. -The room was very big & comfortable. -I liked the heated bathroom tiles. -The breakfast buffet was excellent. -I love the cabin feel & decor of the property. -I wish we could've used the firepits outside, but they are reserved for the staff only. -The small parking lot was free. Overall, I would highly recommend staying at this hotel as a base for your Patagonia adventures!

The hotel is okay. Room furnishings comfortable. No tea / coffee making facilities in room. Window and door not soundproof, so you can hear everything outside and on corridor (window sounds open even if closed). Sleeping was a problem in this hotel - although this may be dependent on which side of the hotel room is located, as I note other reviews with more positive feedback. No additional pillows in wardrobe. Hotel facilities are okay. No fitness centre or pool. Breakfast has good variety and of good quality. There is however a limited fresh fruit selection. A rather weak filter coffee available and you are required to pay for a decent coffee. Staff polite and friendly. Not sure how this hotel has 4* rating based on the limited facilities it has.
Joshua Q — Google review
The building is poorly constructed in terms of sound insulation between floors and rooms. You hear EVERYTHING, even not loud conversations or the TV in the room next to yours. This would not pass the technical certifications required for a hotel in many other countries, including Latin America. So, although the hotel has a welcoming atmosphere and good design, it fails to fulfill the basic function of allowing guests to stay and sleep comfortably in their rooms. The staff are very nice and well trained for the hotel industry. Restaurant is good but there are better options nearby. Breakfast was very good.

Excellent hotel. the staff is very friendly and helpful and speaks English, the rooms are nice and comfortable. There is enough restaurants in walking distance . recomended

This hotel is conveniently situated about 1 mile west of town towards the glacier. We stayed 2 nights in a superior room which was a good size. Rooms were very comfortable and clean, but felt a bit dated. The worst was poor sound insulation between rooms so we could hear the conversations of the group next door both evenings. We had everything we needed, very good breakfast buffet but could have done with water fountains in the hotel (might have had them but didn't see them) Good service from reception staff, very attentive and helpful.
Paul E — Google review
We loved this hotel, located at the end of the town. You need to walk a bit to get to the restaurants and shopping, but it offers quietness in return. The beds were comfy, breakfast was fantastic, with really good pastries. Shower could use a renovation.

Go for a quiet peaceful stay, enjoy the scenery and you won't go wrong. Rooms are large and very nice and clean. Breakfast is pretty good, lunch and dinner meals were decent but nothing special . Surprisingly for such a good hotel the service especially in the restaurant was lacking .At least half the people working there mostly didn't seem to put their heart into their work and it shows. Otherwise in every other place in all of Argentina the service was nearly always excellent despite the current economic tribulations of Argentina and along with its working class.

Nestled in El Calafate, the Calafate Parque Hotel is a charming stone and timber hotel offering a range of amenities including dining, spa facilities, and a gym. Its central location makes it convenient for exploring nearby attractions such as Gnome Village and Calafate Fishing. The hotel's spa provides indulgent massages and body treatments, while guests can also enjoy the spa tub, sauna, and fitness center.
Clean and cozy hotel next to Downtown Calafate. Have access within 5 to 20 minutes to all restaurants, stores, Casino, and Chocolate Bars.
Hector G — Google review
The hotel is on a quiet side street, just off the main street. The service is friendly. They serve a wonderful breakfast and then the restaurant serves great food all day, perhaps the best meals in Calafate. However, the rooms are tiny and the walls and doors are thin.
Fiona G — Google review
This is a great place near El Calafate town center. Most tour buses have pick up and drop off at this hotel. The best part is that the breakfast starts at 6 am, so that one can get a hot breakfast before the tour starts around 7 or 7:20 am. Also, they have Jacuzzi and Sauna, which are great to wind down after the tour. There is one thing I would recommend to the management change the mattress. The mattress in our room was very lumpy with the center part being a little firm and the rest of the mattress very soft and saggy.
A R — Google review
If this hotel we're half the price, I would have no issues, but for how much we paid I expected better. The first room they gave us smelled heavily like body odor. They were very nice and quick to give us another room, but it wasn't that much better. The rooms have old, chipped, outdated furniture. No smart TV for Netflix, etc. No fan or AC unit so you either sweat or open the window and deal with the street noise and fumes. The showerhead was awesome, but the tub was tiny and the shower curtains kept getting stuck and were partially ripped. The cups for coffee/tea were noticably dirty. The walls are also pretty thin, making it noisy. The only reason I give 3 stars is for the service, the breakfast, and the spa, which were all quite nice. The jacuzzi wasn't super hot but the view was lovely and I was able to enjoy it for a while. The dry sauna is also really nice and hot. The people are all very friendly.
Xio — Google review
Rooms are cute and comfortable. Location is great, walking distance to all of Calafate, but don't expect any good views out the window. Do expect to struggle to keep the room from getting too hot and to be woken up at dawn by the rooster next door, though. The staff was very helpful in navigating us through some very inconvenient airline strikes.
Vic L — Google review
While the Spa which is free to use (jacuzzi and sauna, require booking) is nice, I must mention the rooms have very poor sound insulation. We were in 2 different rooms during our stay. One was right next to the stairs and we could hear every foot steps throughout the night. The second night we stayed in a room further into the building we could hear a drunk person yelling in his own room in the middle of the night. In both room you could hear traffic noise on the street. The room itself otherwise is nice and clean.

Calafate Parque Hotel April 8-12 The lady Receptionist, whose name I won’t mention, was not courteous in telling us that the top floor was full when we requested for a room there. Room 113 was fine on the night of 8th but on the nights of 9-10, the guest above us walked with heavy feet. I learned from Ms. Rosio😊 at Reception that Patagonia is comprised of five provinces, one of which is Santa Cruz where El Calafate is. She lent us the adaptor, which we returned to the male receptionist on the 12th upon check-out. Calafate Parque Hotel (CPH) serves good breakfast. I appreciate the: > Kombucha (ref. See description of theirs in the picture uploaded); > Made-up room daily; > Conditioner; > Cotton swabs; > Round cotton for facial cleansing. Negatives of CPH are: > No complimentary bottled water; > No water kettle, coffee/tea in room, teaspoon; > Small bathroom; > Chipped squeaky closet door; > CPH’s policy that breakfast be eaten solely in the dining room is understandable for guests who had their breakfast already. It does not make sense when pick-up time for the airport is earlier than 6 a.m. Meanwhile there were guests filling up their thermos.

Stayed here two nights. Room reeked of cigarette smoke when we arrived. Asked the hotel if we could change rooms but they said all they could do was spray some perfume in the room. They noted that hotel guests sometimes smoke outside the hotel and the smoke goes up to the rooms. Overall, while the location is convenient, I wish we had stayed at a different hotel given our experience.

Boutique
Nestled on a hillside in El Calafate, La Cantera Hotel Boutique offers an enchanting stay with panoramic views of Lago Argentino and the Andes Mountains. The unassuming rooms provide comfort and convenience, while the terrace offers stunning sunrises and sunsets over the lake. Conveniently located in the city center, this charming boutique hotel is perfect for those looking to explore Patagonia's natural beauty or visit attractions like the Perito Moreno Glacier.
This hotel is located uphill approximately a half mile from the main street. They do have a shuttle service on call for 2000 pesos each way if you wish during specific evening hours. But there are also an abundance of taxis available in the area. My room was quite dated however the bed was comfortable, and all the linens were bright white clean as well as the rest of the room. If you want the best views, then book the superior room in the main building. Carla, Gabriella and Dario were excellent hosts and very helpful. Dario helped me select and book two excursions which I had difficulty trying to do online. they will even sell you pesos for dollars at a fair exchange rate. Their Wi-Fi service is strong. What I will remember most besides the helpful staff is the delicious breakfast. It includes cook-to-order eggs and the service is fast and friendly and well prepared. Everything else is self service buffet. The coffee is nice and strong and flavorful. I will be back next year for sure. I highly recommend.

Do not stay here. Many issues that they failed to resolve over a three night stay. 1) no hot water 2) taxi service left us stranded in town and the hotel did not reply to messages. It’s a 20 minute walk, and not the end of the world, but frustrating while carrying lots of groceries 3) lots of noise from other guests 4) several bugs 5) room not cleaned well between guests Most importantly: very poor WiFi
Gaurav S — Google review
The hotel is decent, with acceptable service. We stayed in January 2025, booking for 200,000 pesos per night. However, there are areas for improvement: 1. No ventilation in rooms or bathrooms, leading to poor air quality and mosquito issues due to unscreened windows. 2. Thin walls make conversations and snoring from neighboring rooms clearly audible. 3. Cleanliness needs attention—stray hairs were found in the bathroom and bed. 4. Located 10–15 minutes from the city center, but a car service is available in the evening for 2,000 pesos per trip. Overall, the stay was okay, with simple décor but lacking detail. Improvements would enhance the experience.

Overall this is a good spot. You’re in Calafate and Patagonia to be adventurous and do activities, so at the end of the day you just want somewhere that is comfortable and secure and this place is good for that as you’ll be out doing activities all day. In Calafate there aren’t many luxurious options if you’re used to that. The rooms need touching up, to include pillows and mattresses. The walls are thin so for sensitive sleepers this may be a challenge. The staff are very friendly and helpful, we enjoyed their hospitality. They are good about helping coordinate ride pick up and drop offs from the airport. Location - it is up a hill, which did not bother us at all. It was nice having the view of the lake. You’re not on the main strip but it is extremely easy walk, especially after a heavy Argentinian dinner. However, for those people who might be older or have mobility issues, the walking would be challenging. They do offer a shuttle service at 1900 though. Also, there’s a good cheap little local hot dog store at the bottom of the hill before the main strip which is a good option for something filling and tasty and cheap. Every morning they include breakfast which was great. A very fair assortment of eggs, omelettes, pastries, bread, coffee, jams and fruit. Overall experience 4 stars, but it is not a 4 star hotel.
AR — Google review
This little boutique hotel and its staff were an absolute delight. Although the hotel is about 5 to 10 minutes by walk (up hill) from the main strip, you have a beautiful view of the lake from the hotel. The staff are exceptionally friendly. The bartender was very pleasant even though I didn’t speak any Spanish. Wonderful stay. I highly recommend this hotel.

Not a 4-star hotel. One plus. The breakfast was pretty good. Other than that, we give it a 2. We booked this place mostly based on reviews by customers (currently at 4.5). Based on expectations from those reviews, we were quite disappointed. The rooms lack most amenities, and the service was mediocre. The restaurant doubles as a reception/lobby area. We would've liked the hotel more if it wasn't pretending to be a 4-star hotel when it wasn't. With that said we dont think that we should have paid as much as we did.

The Kau Yatún Hotel de Campo offers stylish and comfortable accommodation in a relaxed rural setting. It features a spacious pool and spa area, a restaurant and bar, as well as free breakfast.
Exceptional old charm hotel. Very well maintained, with very friendly staff and a beautiful property. Just loved the breakfast. We particularly liked the 1 hour yoga class offered by the hotel twice a week. We were also very happy that the hotel offers bicycles for free to their guests, we made use of this facility as we! Great experience!
Shrirang M — Google review
The hotel has a charming old-school aesthetic, which makes sense given that it’s part of an Estancia. However, some aspects of the stay fell short. The bathroom was disappointing—the toilet didn’t flush well and took a long time to refill, which was frustrating. Breakfast was underwhelming, with limited options and bite-sized portions that ran out quickly. Refills were slow, making it an inconvenient experience. Additionally, the breakfast area is located on the first floor, and with no elevator, this poses a serious accessibility issue for older guests and families with young children. That said, the reception staff was excellent—very helpful, attentive, and always willing to assist with any requests. Their great service was a highlight of the stay. With some improvements to the facilities and dining experience, this hotel could be much more enjoyable.

We enjoyed our two night stay while we visited the Perito Moreno Glacier. The hotel has large rooms with lots of charm. We had a little trouble with the toilet flushing at first, but managed to resolve it without too much hassle. The breakfast was excellent — my favorite during a ten day trip to Patagonia. It’s about a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel into the main area of town, where there are plenty of restaurants to enjoy. It takes about the same length of time to walk to the bus station.

I stayed here on two occasions in November and was very satisfied in both cases. The hotel was originally a working farm and retains many of the old farming artifacts adding to the charm and character of the building. The hotel is barely 10 minutes walk from the El Calafate main street but in a quiet, peaceful location. My room on both occasions was spacious, with two double beds and a pleasant, garden outlook. The room and en suite bathroom were clean and tidy, and bathroom stocked with usual amenities. There was strong wifi (free) throughout the building. All staff encountered, from front desk to restaurant and room service were friendly and helpful. The hotel manager even took time to provide a guided tour of the well maintained gardens and associated farming artifacts. Breakfast was an extensive buffet with many healthy options. The restaurant menu also offered many delicious options supported by a wonderful wine selection. My stay here certainly added to my travel experience here and I am happy to recommend to others.

Beautiful location. Comfortable rooms. Friendly staff. Restaurant in hotel delicious food. It is run separately from the hotel so can't charge meal to your room. Water coffee tea etc in room are not free but the tap water is fantastic - better than any bottled water I have tasted. Our room was in the main building but some rooms are in cabins. Breakfast buffet very good. It was included in our tour but i don't know whether it is included for all guests. My guess is it probably is since nobody asked our room number. Breakfast start alt 6 AM. It goes till at least 9, maybe later.

For the price charged per stay, I expected a better service. We complained twice about the trash bin from our bathroom that was broken and asked for another one, no one replaced, until we reminded them for the 3rd time. While showering, the water was never going down the drain, it and it seemed to be blocked. Breakfast: Apparently, it seemed to be a good breakfast until we took 2 different breads that were MOLD! I showed it to the kitchen lady, and nothing was said. We complained at the reception to two different attendants, and not a single apologize word was said. Unfortunately, because my partner ate a piece of the bread, he had digestion problems, and again, not a single apology was given from the hotel. For us it was not a good experience, after all. Would never come back.
Barbara S — Google review
The service here is what gives it 5 stars. They were so communicative and available via WhatsApp, it made the experience smooth and comfortable. The concierge was responsive to every need we had, the breakfast staff offered to fill up our water bottles for us, and the room service was pretty quick. Also, the morning buffet was delicious with fresh orange juice and delicious croissants. Only downside is that it's a little walk from downtown, but that made it feel more secluded after a long adventure day

Wonderful hotel outside of the hustle and bustle of El Calafate. Nicholas and Matias at the front desk were so helpful, kind, and very friendly. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer spot in the area. Enjoyed the gardens in the afternoon after our glacier adventures and hikes. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious-and the on-site restaurant was lovely for one of the nights when we didn’t feel like dealing with the crowds in town. Highly recommend! We were even given tiny bouquets of flowers when we arrived!

Great hotel! It’s about 10 minutes walking from downtown. Rooms are cute and have good space. They have a big heated pool, which is awesome for cold days. The entrance is absolutely gorgeous, and you can see the mountains. Loved it!

Bring your earplugs. The walls are literally paper-thin. Not only we could hear everything from the adjacent rooms, but also from across the hallway, and actually from down the hallway. The bed was firm. The service - excellent. The breakfast - OK.

Shockingly rude reception staff! Definitely the place to avoid! Not value for money! The superior double we paid for was facing a wall with a very noisy generator/ air-conditioning unit. The vibration was felt even with windows closed. We were very rudely told several times that no one ever had a problem with this. When we eventually changed room to a quieter one, it was a downgrade to a small and smelly room. I wanted to complain to the manager, but was absent. Sadly the encounter with the head of reception on duty was even more unpleasant and challenging than the first one! Very unwelcoming place with lack of hospitality. The number of stars is not an indication of the quality of service
Sophia D — Google review
Avoid this hotel at all costs. This is a 1 star hotel at best. A super 8 is way better than this. No AC. Rooms are like a sauna. They have a m eu but often half the things are not available in the menu. The food is very bland and very expensive. Hotel staff are rude and really don’t care. Nothing close to walk too either. Paper thin walls so you can hear people from other rooms, beds are awful.

I was disappointed with my experience at this hotel, which did not meet the standards I would expect from a 4-star property. The check-in process was disorganized and frustrating, setting a poor tone for the stay. Noise from outside made it difficult to sleep, and the room was uncomfortably hot at night with no effective temperature control. The Wi-Fi was highly unreliable, frequently disconnecting and unable to support basic video streaming. The food was also disappointing, lacking the quality you would expect from a hotel of this rating. Overall, there was a noticeable lack of attention to detail, and the staff often responded to reasonable requests with, ‘Sorry, we cannot accommodate that.’ The experience fell well short of expectations for a 4-star property.

The hotel is a bit outdated but quiet and very good service is provided by the staff, from arrival to housekeeping and restaurant. Being far from the center you can’t walk anywhere but have to rely on the shuttle (every couple of hours) or taxi, which isn’t really convenient. Breakfast is okay. Toiletries and necessities are provided and appreciated, but a courtesy bottle of water would be expected for the standard of a 4*.

NOT a 5-star hotel 😂 Breakfast is bad. Limited options and poorly prepared. And not just our opinion: lots of partially eaten food and mostly full plates on other departed tables. Dinner was mediocre. Diverse menu options but lacking in flavor and execution. This is compounded by the inconvenient location. You are 40 minutes walk from downtown where 95% of the restaurants are and the hotel shuttle runs only hourly, with final return at 9:45pm. Rooms are spacious but super dated, awkwardly designed, and tiny shower hardly big enough for one person. We did have good service during our stay. Very helpful bell boy and ladies at the restaurant who delivered dinner to our room. However, this does not make up for the shortcomings above.

Definitely a 3-star hotel not 5. Overall quite old, far from city center with a good shuttle service. Nice spa with pool but all the rest low level. Breakfast and food very low quality, end of year dinner had low quality food not up the price and level expected , service so and so. Rooms have good space but old shape and furniture. I would not come again and suggest looking for better place downtown or on the lake but newer

Do NOT go here : 1. If you are looking for 5 start hotel 2. If you are looking for good service 3. If you want to eat good food at the hotel 4. If you expect knowledgeable service regarding excursions The hotel is dated. Beware the average clientele is Mexican women past their 60s, so the vibe is relative to that. The staff is rude and not helpful except the guy who worked the night shift. Upon check in they don’t tell you anything related to service or minibar or etc. So upon check out I was charged 33,500 ars for 2 small waters and 2 cokes. Ridiculous, their response was I should have found QR code somewhere in the room log in and checked if the that was free or not. On the first day we asked front desk if they can suggest a good company for excursion to glacier. So they did. OMG we got picked up in 30 year old bus without ac with cracked windshield that rattled and vibrated on every crack of the road. Also do NOT order the food from their cafe. Paid 23,000ars for the burger and it was 5 time worse then McDonalds. Location is outside of town so you need to use the taxi back and forth which is about 7,000 ars on way. In the evening they have shuttle service from 16:40 until 21:45.

A Complete Disappointment – Not Worth 5 Stars This "5-star hotel" is old, which wouldn’t be an issue if it were properly maintained. Unfortunately, nothing is cared for, and calling it a "spa hotel" is outright misleading. Spa: A Total Joke The saunas are tiny, not hot, and the heater is so loud that relaxation is impossible. The so-called "relaxation area" consists of just two loungers – absolutely useless. The opening hours are ridiculous as well: everything shuts down after 9 PM. To top it off, slippers are only provided in the spa itself, meaning you have to walk there in regular shoes. If you’re expecting a real spa experience, prepare to be deeply disappointed. Breakfast: An Insult The breakfast is downright pathetic. Burnt filter coffee, watery orange juice (even Capri Sun is better!), and a massive pile of scrambled eggs that’s kept warm for hours – completely inedible. The cakes and fruit are of the lowest quality, and I even found mold in the cheese. The selection is minimal. To make matters worse, the tables aren’t cleared; at one point, the previous guest’s dishes were simply stacked instead of removed. Every cup had visible stains. Rooms: All Style, No Substance The toiletries are cheap and smell unpleasant, and the TV is tiny and didn’t even work. The only redeeming feature was the comfortable beds, and the staff was at least friendly – the only saving grace in this nightmare. Hidden Fees On top of everything, there was an outrageous exchange rate scam: they charged $20 more than what was shown during booking. Conclusion: This hotel is running on a long-gone reputation, squeezing every penny out of its guests before it inevitably falls apart. If you expect a 5-star experience, you’ll get nothing but frustration. Never again!

I had high expectations for Imago Hotel & Spa, but unfortunately, my experience was far from what was advertised. First and foremost, the price I was charged was over £20 more than the rate I originally booked on Booking.com, which the hotel blamed on exchange rates. However, the exchange rate was aligned with what I agreed to pay, so this feels unjustified. The staff were also rude and dismissive when I raised this issue, which really tarnished my overall experience. Considering this is advertised as a five-star hotel, the service and attitude of the staff fell well short of that standard. As for the amenities, they are severely lacking. Despite being labeled as a “spa,” there is no steam room, no jacuzzi, and the overall facilities were subpar. I came here specifically to relax after five days of hiking in Patagonia, and the lack of basic spa amenities was a huge letdown. Additionally, the hotel is in a poor location—far from everything in El Calafate. If you don’t have a car or don’t want to spend money on taxis constantly, this hotel is extremely inconvenient for sightseeing or even dining elsewhere. Overall, I would not recommend Imago Hotel & Spa if you’re expecting luxury or convenience. There are better options in the area for the price.

Enjoyed a 3 night stay after Christmas holiday Very nice staff . The spa was great spot for a massage 👍 Breakfast in the morning offered something for everyone. Romero the van driver was great getting you to and from the downtown area.

Average overall and you’ll likely get batter value elsewhere. Good things…friendly staff, comfortable beds, all nice and clean. We also received an upgrade to a lake view room and the view was stunning. We had a bar meal the first night; expensive but pleasantly served and nice food. Improvements…it’s all rather tired. The aircon in our room was very noisy. The gym has seen better days; we couldn’t get the treadmill or cross trainer to work properly. Breakfast was acceptable; good choice of fruits the main positive with hot options dried up and not at all appetising.

Edenia Hotel & Nature is a refined hotel located just 80 meters from the stunning Argentino Lake, offering breathtaking views of the lake and mountains. The hotel provides warm and comfortable rooms with modern facilities such as soundproofed walls, private bathrooms, TVs, and telephones. Guests can enjoy free breakfast and WiFi access, as well as dining at the on-site restaurant which offers traditional meals with views of Redonda Bay.
This is a fantastic hotel to stay at! The service was amazing and they even had our room ready at 8:30am after we traveled through the night from Central America (check in usually at 2-3pm). The breakfast was amazing and the staff were very kind and accommodating of every need. The hotel is 10min outside the city but you can access it easily with taxis that cost $5 - it is worth the spectacular views from Punta Soberana! Also you have access to an amazing biking and running trail on Lago Argentino! I would highly recommend this hotel if you are going to El Calafate!

Edenia Hotel & Nature: Beautiful Views, but Mixed Experience Edenia Hotel has its charms, but it’s important to set expectations for hotels in El Calafate. While the staff was friendly and the property relatively clean, it felt dated and didn’t fully meet my standards. The location is a highlight, perched on a hill overlooking the stunning glacier-blue waters of Laguna Argentina. The view alone is worth a visit. The room was clean but basic, with a strange shower setup. On New Year’s Eve, they ran out of hot water, leaving us with a chilly shower before dinner. A bonus: the area is home to lots of stray dogs, and they are incredibly friendly, adding a unique and heartwarming touch to the experience.

Went with family, we loved it. It’s little far, might not be suitable if you don’t come with a car. Hotel menu it’s good but limited. View is amazing and can really have a quality rest.

It is a fairly large property located several miles away from the main city. It honestly looks like a rehab center from a distance. The floor spaces and rooms are large, however the decor seems to be incomplete. It almost seems like the designer decorated the ceiling but didn't care much about the floor space. The staff cannot speak English at all and when we struggled to explain things to them in our broken Spanish, they smirked and laughed at us. We booked a massage two days in advance and even confirmed it the day prior, but on the day of (10 mins before our scheduled time) they told us that we never booked it. Then the front desk person changed their story after being confronted and said that we never confirmed it. Then finally changed their story that the masseuse was unavailable at the hotel and is at another location. We had planned our entire day around the massage, and decided to stay in the hotel and not plan anything for the day. Our entire day was wasted. After confronting the front desk staff, "?Enya", she didn't even care to apologize for her mistake and had an I don't care attitude. They could care less about wasting our time and being unprofessional. The restaurant automatically adds a 10% tip on all meals and the staff makes mistakes while bringing our order. The shuttle service is practically non-existent, as it only runs 3-4 times a day at odd hours. Be prepared to spend at least 20 USD each day to go into the city via taxi. The shower in the bathroom is not covered properly and the entire bathroom gets wet after a shower. Would not recommend.
Siddharth V — Google review
The walls are paper thin, we enjoyed our neighbor's conversation all evening even as they spoke in a soft voice. The windows only open inward, so to cool the room off you can't close your curtains. In the end we had little privacy it seemed. The location is somewhat remote requiring a car or taxi to get into town which turned out to be an inconvenience, even with the shuttle. The staff was friendly but left us with a stressful departure when they forgot to order our taxi to the bus station on time. They fixed the problem but it was a very stressful end to our stay. Nice view but we wouldn't tell friends to stay here.

I recently stayed at the Edenia Punta Soberana in El Calafate and was truly impressed by its serene location and stunning views of Argentino Lake. The hotel, set a few kilometers from the bustling town center, offered a tranquil retreat surrounded by nature. My room was comfortably furnished and boasted soundproof walls, which really enhanced the peaceful atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful throughout my stay, making sure all my needs were met with a smile. Dining at the hotel's restaurant was a delightful experience, with a variety of traditional dishes served overlooking the picturesque Redonda Bay. The added amenities like free WiFi, ample parking, and a sauna contributed to a very relaxing stay. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort and a touch of nature in their visit to El Calafate.

Rooms are basic, but have good bed and spacious bathroom. Fridge is available in each room. TV is good, have not seen this types of TV for a decade=) Nice views from the window. Laundry service is good. All closes were washed and properly folded. Breakfast is average: a lot of pastries, but it is not really tasty. Scrambled eggs was smelly, was not even tried to eat. Overboiled?

This place was excellent. Staff was wonderful the rooms were clean, very large and comfortable. Breakfast was good. The view is worth being outside of downtown. There is a shuttle to the town center every hour almost all day so you have the best of both worlds. Being in a remote artwork a beautiful view and having access to everything downtown.

Nestled in the stunning mountains of El Calafate, Alto Calafate Hotel Patagonico offers a luxurious retreat with breathtaking views of Argentino Lake and Cerro Calafate. This elegant hotel features spacious rooms and suites designed for comfort, along with an upscale restaurant that serves delightful meals against a picturesque backdrop. Guests can unwind at the full-service spa, indulge in soothing massages or body treatments, and take advantage of two heated indoor pools.
The Alto Calafate Hotel, where I stayed for four nights in El Calafate, has a breathtaking view of the surroundings from the hilltop. The rooms were clean and the food at the hotel restaurant was excellent. The staff was friendly. It was a perfect choice. You will feel the same way.

The property is beautiful and well situated to get to the downtown area. The quality of the food in the restaurant was EXCELLENT. From the moment you arrive Valentina and Brisa, at the front desk, make you feel instantly welcomed with those great smiles and attitude. We were her for New Years Eve and I got sick. The staff brought our full several course meal to our room and made us feel like family. Accross the board, the staff was what would make us return.
Susana G — Google review
The Alto Calafate Hotel is past its better days for sure. The location is not ideal as it is outside of the town but it offers great views from the lake in return. It does need major maintenance but it is easy to tell that the hotel has been abandoned by management. The staff and service are aweful, they are not rude but certainly lack basic training on service and hospitality. The breakfast is a joke and they charge extra for coffee (around $4.5 usd) and don’t even think about drinking the bottle of water in the room as it will cost $7.5 usd. Overall would recommend staying at another place to avoid having a dissapointing experience
Rodrigo R — Google review
V bad experience. When we checked in, our rooms were not ready (ofc we had made the reservation long back). They made us wait for a long time in the lobby. We had to fight with the reception to give us a room. The room was extremely poor quality...didn't look clean. Supplies were not enough...they gave us one towel for a party of 4. The wifi connection wouldn't work. I called the reception multiple times and all they could offer was to use the internet in their lobby. All in all, the worst part was the rude attitude of the receptionists ... they simply didn't care!
Bhawna S — Google review
Probably one of the worst hotel I have been to in a while. Carpet in hallways smell musty, room are stuck in the 70s and not so clean, showers full of mold. Staff is short and sometimes plainly rude but I get it, working there is not pleasant. Breakfast is made of dried scrambled eggs, stale bread, burnt coffee. Can’t wait to leave this place!
Fabienne ( — Google review
The hotel offers excellent views, but the overall experience is disappointing. While some aspects of service were decent, there are noticeable signs of wear and tear throughout the property. Broken items and a lack of thorough upkeep, particularly the carpets in the bedrooms and hallways, detract from the experience. These areas either need replacement or a deep clean. For one of the most expensive hotels in Calafate, the quality falls short of expectations. Additionally, some policies feel unnecessarily stingy. For instance, charging $17 for a bottle opener and limiting guests to just one bag of tea per stay come across as overly frugal. These details leave a sour impression. The WiFi is also subpar, which adds to the frustration. Unless you're solely interested in the view, it's hard to justify the high price. Overall, the experience feels underwhelming and not worth the cost.
Federico F — Google review
The service was excellent! They went the extra mile by rescuing my coat that I had left in a tour bus. The included breakfast was tasty and the room was spacious and cleaned daily. Juan, the driver of the mini-bus that drives you to town, was always courteous, on time and gave us good restaurant recommendations. If we com back, we will stay there again. The view from the hotel was beautiful! Thanks again for the excellent service!

I wasn’t really sure how to review so I’ll do each aspect separately: Rooms: were very outdated except for the bathrooms, views from the rooms were UNREAL, weren’t bad at all but expected more from 4 star hotel. Service: really mixed feelings, half of the staff was lovely and attentive and the other half were pretty short on answers and service. Restaurant: wouldn’t recommend, we had room service from the restaurant at the hotel because they didn’t have a table till 11 pm and the food was cold and average tasting. The buffet had a lot of options but not enough breakfast options, I felt it was mostly dessert. Almost no protein. Location: amazing and they have an afternoon shuttle which is pretty great to get into town (10min to town) Amenities: Pool and sauna were great but the whole towel and robe situation was just so odd. It was also supposed to be a spa but they had no available massages at the time we stayed.

Kalenshen Hotel Cerro Calafate is a charming and family-friendly accommodation nestled in the heart of El Calafate. Just a short stroll from local attractions like Museo de El Calafate and La Aldea de los Gnomos, this hotel offers guests an inviting atmosphere with modern amenities. Enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi, relax by the pool, or indulge in spa services after exploring nearby shops and restaurants.
I recently stayed at this lovely hotel and had a wonderful experience. The staff were exceptionally nice and professional, always going out of their way to ensure I felt welcome and comfortable. Their helpfulness made my stay even more enjoyable. The hotel itself was okay and had a great atmosphere. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a pleasant stay with outstanding service!

The rooms was quite big and nice. The teceitpions was especially helpful as we sometimes needed help with the room heater as it was kind of warm inside the room. The location is not the middle of the town but a 10 mins walk to the town
Lee T — Google review
I almost let the bad reviews sway me from coming here. But I'm so glad I didn't!! The rooms are newly renovated (new carpet, new furniture, new fixtures), spotlessly clean, very aesthetically pleasing. A couple of downsides is that it's further away from all the restaurants in town, no air-conditioning in the room we had, pillows were softer than I preferred. Breakfast was very nice as well. They have an on-site restaurant and bar as well. Other than that, I would recommend.
Anisa P — Google review
The moment I stepped into this hotel, I was unwittingly enrolled in a masterclass of disillusionment. I had previously phoned in to tweak my booking, assured that it would be smoother than silk. Yet, upon arrival, I discovered that my minor amendment had somehow inflated my bill twofold, showcasing their magical ability to convert anticipation into sheer bewilderment. Navigating the hotel was like time-traveling, minus the nostalgia. The place was a museum of neglect, where each corner seemed to vie for the prestigious award of “Most Overlooked Artifact.” Cleanliness was apparently on sabbatical. The rooms were so spartan, finding a bar of soap felt like winning the lottery, but without the cash prize. The bathroom’s highlight was a bidet, which, rather than a beacon of hygiene, was a memoir of visits past. And the toilet paper? It was as if they mistook it for an exfoliation tool, a bracing reminder of their indifference to comfort or basic decency. This hotel turned a would-be forgettable stay into a memorable saga of dismay, standing tall as a beacon of how not to run a hospitality business. It’s a cautionary tale wrapped in a comedy of errors. I can’t in good conscience recommend this establishment, unless you’re researching a thesis on hospitality disasters. To everyone else, my advice is simple: look elsewhere. In a sea of choices, opting for this adventure in mediocrity isn’t just unnecessary; it’s a comedic tragedy of your own making.

Matrimonial bed was actually two single beds and not that comfortable. The wifi didn't work at all, or barely at times. The hot pool and sauna were great and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Male sure you chat them up (English or Spanish) before you book anything. They can really help.
Keven A — Google review
We had a reservation but asked to see our room and decided not to check in. The place is tired and dirty. The fridge at the bar in the lobby had rotten bananas and weeks old salad. As far as the room, every tile in the bathroom floor was cracked. The carpet was worn and uneven everywhere. Room furniture was decades old and appeared to have been bought at a thrift shop. While we were inspecting our room, someone else was complaining about leaks in their room even though they had already changed rooms once. On the positive side, staff was accommodating when we told them we didn’t want our reservation. I think they get this request often….

Extremely nice and warm place in the cold of Patagonia. My room was clean, well maintained and warm. The swimming pool is small but maintained and warm. People are helpful. Breakfast although is a bit of let down with not many options available - only local options (medialunas , corn flakes, coffee, tea, bread butter etc.) But I guess can't complain much considering the distance, weather conditions

Quijote Hotel, located in the heart of El Calafate, has been renovated to offer modern and well-equipped rooms with an antique ranch-style decor. The hotel is conveniently situated just a 5-minute walk from the city center, providing easy access to restaurants and shopping areas. Guests can enjoy a panoramic view of the beautiful city, Lago Argentino, and the Cordillera de los Andes from this charming hotel.
Staffs speak good English and they are very helpful. The bellboy is always smiling to the customers. Wifi is decent and the room has an electric kettle, which allows me to make my own tea. It is also very close to many restaurants, allowing you to have many options. Additionally, there is a supermarket nearby for customers to buy food for any day trip.

Terrible hotel everything is old, stained and falling apart. The hotel doesn’t even have so much as water to offer guests as I was told I need to go outside and buy some from the corner shop. The breakfast offering is abysmal- nothing but pastries and white bread. The shower is disgusting and the walls are paper thin. We were kept up all night by loud bangs, running water, flushing toilets and noises from the lift. Do yourself a favour and avoid at all costs
Inbal M — Google review
What can we say about this pathetic hotel, as the list is long of their pettiness to give customers the minimum of services while saving money. Already the Quijote hotel is depressing, old and in need of renovation and the asking price is very expensive for this type of hotel so do not book this hotel. The room also had to be completely redone and the amenities were particularly limited and not ecological because they were made of disposable plastic. The hotel and breakfast were the worst of a 5 week stay. Breakfast is not only depressing but junk with low-end industrial bread and croissants like the rest, with a more than limited choice. There is an omelet but no bacon, it's hard to get basic fried eggs. By insisting, I had fried eggs on the 1st day but they were overcooked (hard cooked) highlighting their ability to cook and the next day the manager did not approve my request so no eggs!. This morning we arrived and found only dirty and uncleared tables and we set the table ourselves, so probably not enough staff. Also during check-in, the receptionist did not look for an available room while the others do and he asked us to come back and this is unusual because other hotels do their best to satisfy their customers. Also checkout is early at 10 a.m. while other Argentinian hotels are at 11 a.m. or noon. I had knee surgery a few weeks ago and I can't bend my leg to step over a bathtub, so I asked for a shower and he confirmed. And I had a bathtub that I couldn't use. The level of English of the staff in contact with customers in this tourist town is pathetic because they do not want to employ more qualified, and therefore more expensive, profiles.
C D — Google review
Quijote Hotel is just 5 minutes walk from the city centre and is close to all the restaurants and shopping areas. The hotel is quite comfortable and convenient, the staff were very helpful, the breakfast adequate and not much you can asked for. We strolled around the area and found some other hotels, some nicer and some awkward, and therefore we found this very value for money. Also remember to do some research of the hotel with "Don Quijote" and see any association before staying. Will recommend.

Checked in today, and room is lovely, spacious, clean. However phone in room isn’t working as needed to report WiFi not working. So went down 4 floors to report, then after 30 mins, went down again, both times was told someone would come to the room, but no one came. Just a heads up on service, nothing else I can fault.

A bit old and dated but very convenient to downtown El Calafate (1 block to main street). Breakfast was ok - no fresh vegetables or fruit, just breads, scrambled eggs, cheese, sandwich meat and cereal. Rooms were acceptable - a bit small for the standard rooms and definitely could use an update.

Rooms were great: big, tidy, warm, comfortable bed, but the hotel wifi didn't reach our room, and the tv was useless (old, weak signal). The bathroom was excellent, one of the best I've been in. Good breakfast. There's no reception from 23h to 7am, which was of little inconvenience to us but must be considered for people arriving late or leaving early.

Amazing views and food. Internet is not worth having. The food was incredible but make sure to check restaurant food prices as it’s on the pricey side and the menu doesn’t show prices

I am not sure why some people have given this property anything more than one star. The staff didn’t seem to care about anything. Rooms were tired and dirty. The view was nice, but didn’t make up for the stale breakfast or sprinkler shooting into the room. DO NOT STAY HERE. We booked 2 nights and left after the first night. We would have left immediately after checking in, but had no where else to go.

The hotel offers nice views of Lago Argentino, slightly off the core of El Calafate. The lobby is very cozy and hotel staff are very friendly. It really felt like home. Reserva Laguna Nimez is a peaceful natural reserve located near downtown El Calafate, offering a sanctuary for various indigenous bird species. The area is marshy and sits on the shore of Lago Argentino, providing a home to birds like flamingos, swans, ibises, and lapwings. Despite threats from nearby construction and urban expansion, it remains a haven for bird-watchers and offers a relaxing stroll amidst grazing horses and flocks of birds.
a fun experience. it cost $12 apiece for us to do the 4k loop, which was very easy to walk. there are bathrooms in the main lodge—go before starting the walk. there were tons of cool birds, plants, and insects! they gave us bird guides that helped us ID the birds. we enjoyed the blinds that let us get up next to the water. not everyone gets to see flamingoes, but we got to see a dozen in a flock! we ate lots of wild Calafate berries fresh off the plant.
Benjamin S — Google review
I am a big nature fan and so when I had a few hours to kill while in town, I decided to come over here and check it out. The reserve is taken care of very nicely and there is a lot of birdlife to view. The price was a little steep, if I recall about the equivalent of $10, but I suppose that is also to help out the refuge since it is privately run. If you have the time, this is a nice stop while in town, but I would not go out of my way to visit either.
Michael Y — Google review
We had a lovely stroll around the reserve. It was quite windy and I was a tad underdressed, so we rushed it a bit. But it was beautiful. We had drinks at a cool cafe/bar afterwards! Across the street.
Shannon S — Google review
A brilliant initiative but kinda expensive at 12k per person for a very short walk, however we were happy to support their work. The info boards are weather worn and very difficult to read. The birds themselves though are great and it's truly gorgeous at sunset.
Joe K — Google review
The Laguna itself was great with great wildlife visible for us. However, what really made me sad is that I saw two white horses in really bad condition tied up outside of the Laguna for several days in a row without appropriate feed or water. As a place preserving wildlife providing good care of local animals should be a no-brainer. Otherwise a beautiful place.

Super peaceful place to visit the birds and you also get to see Shrek's swamp?? Amazing experience Also pink Flamencos were there They sell water at the entrance, definitely recommend bringing of buying some. It's about 3km or 1.5 to 2 hours long. Also recommend bringing binoculars to see better the birds. They also Rent some pairs at the entrance. Took a taxi from the main bus station since it's a long walk. Would recommend doing so if your are in a hurry. If not it's totally walkable.

A great place to spend ~2hrs walking and birdwatching! We didn’t see as many bird species as we had hoped but the serene wetlands trail made up for it. The flamingoes at the end were the highlight. This place is cash only and they take pesos, USD, and euro. We used all currency since we were short on cash (they even let us pay less since we didn’t have enough cash for 5 people). Would highly recommend renting binoculars for 5,000 pesos!

One of those wrong choices when you book based on hotel provided images and few positive reviews. Place is run down, walls are so thin that you hear others brushing teeth, windows are facing busy street with trucks and scooters creating Patagonian ambience. No ventilation, so windows are steamy all the time, food is mediocre and they even have basket of fake fruits to create an illusion of abundance for poor guests. This is not just the worst place we stayed in 3 week journey in Argentina, its among worst I ever came across. So go ahead and book it for your next adventure so that you can appreciate your home more when coming back.

I had a very pleasant stay in this hotel. It was shoulder season and not too crowded. The place has a warm and relaxing atmosphere. The relaxing soft sofas and jazz music with a garden view made things comfortable. The restaurant had good value meals. Staff where very friendly and professional. Only downside is that the smell from the bathroom in the room is a bit damp. I would suggest that after cleaning the rooms they close the bathroom doors so the smell does not come in the room.

It's outdated, the view on the bottom floor is of the parking lot and it's expensive. You can hear your neighbours through the wall. The breakfast was hardly full if you arrive 5 minutes past opening at 0600. They even up charge for a cab to the airport, so find a cab yourself the day prior. The upside is the bikes are free and your are by the lake.

This place is basic. It has a quaint feel but is outdated. Sound carries across rooms. Rooms on first floor require you to walk down some stairs and through a very long hallway, so not accessible for some. It was just ok but there are prob better options in Calafate.

The well-maintained gardens and panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes provided a serene environment for relaxation LOCATION:Situated on the edge of El Calafate, Hotel Sierra Nevada offers a peaceful retreat but at a bit of a distance from the town center. it's a short drive to natural attractions like the Perito Moreno Glacier. The surrounding area is picturesque, with views of the lake and mountains enhancing the appeal. DINE + DRINK: The hotel's restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring local and international cuisine. But i didnt have an opportunity to sample the food, so cannot comment. ROOM: We stayed in Room 109, so this review is based on that; SIZE: Spacious enough for 2 adults and simple baggage; VIEW: View of the landscape from the sweet balcony attached to the room ; AIR-CON:No Air conditioner, but the room got cool enough in the night;; BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part of putting us to sleep; BATHROOM:Good sized bathroom with a BATH TUB shower; TOILETRIES: Very basic toiletries, bring your own FACILITIES: Very random room fitted with some dated weights that was labelled as a “Gym”! Nothing more and no pool on site. SERVICE: Friendly staff that cared for all our needs but could certainly do a better job in being more warm and greet guests with broader smiles! HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free Wi-Fi that works well all over the property, and the speed is good! Small Smart TV dishing out a wide variety of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies, and entertainment - primarily in Spanish!

Its very nice for a 3 star hotel. All rooms have a view and very comfy bed. Nice bathrooms With good shower. Clean and very well located. Breakfast could be much better in quality and variety. They have complimentary bikes, a nice detail. Would def recommend.

Nestled along the picturesque shores of Lago Argentino, Las Dunas Hotel in El Calafate offers a serene escape with stunning views of both the lake and surrounding mountains. This modern hotel features bright accommodations, many equipped with large windows that showcase the breathtaking scenery. Guests can unwind on the terrace or in the garden while enjoying complimentary Wi-Fi and concierge services. The hotel's Gourmet Restaurant provides a delightful dining experience with garden views, or you can opt for room service during select hours.
I did not stay the night. Only went to the cafe upstairs. Very delicious squash soup, coffees, and the scrambled eggs with sausage and bacon! All delicious and very reasonably priced in comparison to competitors. The view was definitely a big selling point. From outside it doesn’t seem like much, but from inside, it is incomparable!

I do not recommend this hotel. It is old, located in the outskirts, the staff barely speaks English. They messed up our reservation for 3 rooms and we had to wait for the beds to be rearranged to check in. The breakfast is the worst I've had at the hotel in Argentina so far (no proteins or hot food whatsoever, and they charge extra for eggs), we got scolded for taking more than one fruit. Out of the two room keys, one never worked, the other one worked at every other attempt. There is no shower curtain in the bathroom, so the floor is covered in water after every shower. Toilet paper is cheap. There is only one pillow on each bed.

The hotel building is a typical 3-star hotel without much to talk about and though a bit run down it is what one could expect. The view is very nice. The issue is service which has plenty of room for improvement. They are saving every penny possible to the point of exaggeration. No water, coffee, or fridge in the room. Breakfast is practically non existent or at least not digestible. Coffee is undrinkable, and the you have bimbo bread with ham and cheese from 7-eleven. If you want eggs you need to pay extra. I was drastically scolded for taking a cookie to go. Yes a cookie. Wine is also terrible and that was a huge surprise as Argentina has very decent wine and you can have a decent glass in any place you go. On top of that it’s much more expensive than in any restaurant next door. In conclusion, I do not recommend Las Dunas as a decent hotel option.

Excellent rooms, although showers are with not doors and all the bathroom gets wet. Location has a good view but has to consider there is not public transportation so you have to get a cab or walk 25-30min to centre. Breakfast is poor, no a lot of options, no eggs or any other protein, just bread with jam and chesse and some sweet pastries
Oralip S — Google review
The rooms in the second part of the hotel were in terrible condition. The towels were dirty and even though we informed the reception upon our arrival, they wanted to charge us for the dirty towels. The rooms had a strong smell of humidity and several plugs were not working. The breakfast was poor and always cold, while the manager was extremely rude throughout our conversations and presence. The location was nice and quiet.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The room was comfortable and big; the views are great. The price to service ratio was fabulous. Would stay again
DeeEats — Google review
Room was nice enough, but we had some significant issues. We were woken up to a knock on our door at midnight by someone claiming to be from reception, who was looking for someone not in our party. Later that morning, an alarm rang for half an hour, loud enough to keep us awake. The breakfast was the worst I’ve ever seen at a hotel, and we were scolded for arriving 10 minutes before it closed. I’d recommend going elsewhere if you can.

Dusty rooms, dirty windows, unfriendly staff shouting “one piece of fruit per person” on the morning of January 1st at breakfast, constant issues with demagnetised key cards, and so on. An option for those who are completely desperate.

Hielo & Aventura is a reputable and professional tour operator offering the Big Ice and Mini Trekking tours to Perito Moreno Glacier. The company provides organized and efficient services, including hotel pickups in the morning and comfortable transportation to the glacier. The Mini Trekking tour involves a boat ride to the glacier, followed by a guided trek with professional guides. Visitors are advised to bring snacks for this full-day excursion, which also includes opportunities for photography and experiencing the North face of the glacier.
Excellent English guided tour by Luis! We really enjoyed the tour with him. He was so professional, knowledgeable, passionate and made sure everyone stayed in a group. The glacier trekking is absolutely breathtaking and worth it! The best part of our trip. Highly recommend taking up this tour when you are in El Calafate.

Such an amazing once in a lifetime type of experience! The team from Hielo y Aventura were wonderful. The bilingual guides, Matias and Juanchi, were so helpful and attentive to the entire group. Would definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed this trip — especially thanks to Matty and Augustine. They were probably the best guides I’ve ever had, and I don’t say that lightly. Matty led the entire Trek 2 in English for the first time solo and absolutely nailed it. We honestly thought he was joking when he said his English wasn’t good — he was fantastic and incredibly modest. Both he and Augustine struck the perfect balance between keeping us safe and giving us the freedom to explore, stop for photos, and really soak in the landscape at our own pace. Their timing and teamwork were spot on. When I realised I’d left my lunch in the car, Matteo even offered to share his pizza — such a kind gesture. They both took great photos of our group too, without ever making it feel rushed or staged. Unlike many tours, they never pressured us to leave a review, which I really respect. It makes me all the more happy to write one now — they truly deserve.

We did the minitreck to Perito Moreno. It was a great experience highly recommended if you want to see something unique. The guys at Hielo & Aventura were great ! Super organized and polite from the start to finish. A great mention goes to Lorena, Emilano, Marcos and Jorge which were amazing and made the excursion interesting and fun.

What a one-in-a-lifetime amazing experience! Seeing the glacier was breathtaking but then actually being able to walk on and explore it was magical. Our guides Emiliano and Eduardo were extremely informative about the glacier and its evolution but also so entertaining and funny throughout the trek. Emiliano made sure that guests of all ages and fitness levels felt comfortable and safe during the experience. Although I wasn’t ready for it to end, the surprise at the end of the trek was a great touch to round out the experience. A must do excursion!

We had an amazing and once-in-a lifetime experience with the Hielo team. It was efficient— riding a boat to get close to the glacier with guides, then stopped at the island near the glaciers to start the hike. We had a great team to help us with the MiniTrek 2! A must-try experience, and capped it off with a drink. Best part is they ensure we are well-informed, safe, and enjoyed the trip. Never miss this!!
Quincy Q — Google review
My sister and I went mini trekking on October 30th and had Gabriel as our guide. He was fantastic, very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I wish we could’ve gone further into the glacier and didn’t realise about an hour of the trekking was just walking to the glacier. Aside from that we had a fantastic time. Thank you so much!

The Calafate Hostel is a nice, clean building with comfortable rooms and a great location in the center of town. It's very affordable, and the staff are always happy to help with any requests. The hostel is close to all the small shops and restaurants of El Calafate, making it an ideal place to stay if you're looking for a short break or for activities such as trekking or skiing.
Honestly, the best value for money a hostel can offer in Calafate. Rooms were very well equipped with sufficient lockers and steady beds. Every bed had a locker, curtain and electric socket. Stuff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast contained eggs, toast, fruit and cereal which was very sufficient for me.

Great place to stay in Califate. Private room was comfortable and complete. Friendly staff will help with booking tours and anything else you need. Decent breakfast to get you going
M B — Google review
The best part is the breakfast and the friendly staff especially in the kitchen in the mornings. The reception staff are friendly but not always quick to understand, resolve or communicate issues. The WiFi is terrible! I don’t recommend if you need to work here with video calls. The temperature upstairs in the living room was going from icy cold to sweltering heat all the time. Otherwise very quiet, comfortable and good kitchen facilities.
Elizabeth M — Google review
Very nice hostel! I booked a room with a private bathroom and it felt like a hostel. A simple breakfast was also included. Great value for the money, would definitely stay here again!

This hostel has everything going for it. Great staff, rooms, location and the included breakfast was a nice addition. I also booked a tour through them which went smoothly, pick up and drop off were at the hostel. Great all around!
Cristian D — Google review
Very nice rooms, good location and the biggest highlight are the big breakfasts included. In my eyes the only downside is the always busy reception, where you shall always leave and retrieve your keys, which takes a bit of time. The common kitchen gets quite full too.
Vit — Google review
Great location, friendly staff, large rooms, heated floors.
Mark H — Google review
Great place for a budget friendly stay. The rooms are spacious and have enough lockers (in the rooms) for everyone to safely store their entire luggage and valuable items. Some beds include a dark cover so you can avoid the lighting. The bathrooms could be a bit better but they do clean the rooms every day. The staff is super nice and attentive to any questions or help you need. Most power outlets have a combination of plug adapters (European, American, Argentinian, etc) included in the outlet The breakfast is solid. Nothing to fancy but it includes all the essential nutrients to get you started with your day.

This laid-back hostel has a casual restaurant, communal kitchen, lounge, and private bathrooms. It's located in a beautiful area with views of the valley and mountains beyond. Guests enjoy daily continental breakfast with regional items.
Great vibrant hostel with a very spacious common space and lounge where they had some of their staff play live music on one of the nights which was amazing. Just random guitar and sax solos. They are also a tour company and thus have lots of options to connect with the different things to do in the area if you wanted to without leaving. They have a quiet upstairs area and a nice patio area as well. You also get breakfast in included in the price which was eggs, toast, cereal and fruit. Kitchen is quite nice and spacious as well and there are several fun games in the area. The rooms are nice though some of the top bunks are close to the ceiling and can result in you hitting your head if you aren't careful. There are also private dorm washrooms which are also quite nice as well.
Steven L — Google review
Can’t fault the place in terms of its friendly staff, fair prices, view, location (between town and the bus station), atmosphere (good people, games, books, open fire), facilities (toiletries and hairdryer provided, desk to work remotely and good WiFi). The only improvements would be curtains on the dorm beds and better options for breakfast that don’t include so much sugar. Oh and a camera in the kitchen so I could find out who stole all my cookies and chocolate 😂
Elizabeth M — Google review
I had a really good stay here during the winter time in July. Due to this the hostel was quite quiet but due to the homely layout and feel, it was still a great place to socialise with other travellers. The rooms were really nice and beds very comfortable. Included breakfast has a decent spread and just about available for all tour starting times. The hostel has some really friendly dogs, some even guide you all the way into town if you’re lucky. The best part though was all the staff. So friendly, helpful and kind, especially when my flight got cancelled and I needed to come back for another night. I had the most interaction with Abby so a special shoutout to her for being an angel and a fountain of knowledge for all things you need to know about the area.
Ainsley E — Google review
The dorm beds are very comfortable and cosy - breakfast is bread and a selection of 3 types of cereal. The bread was quite dry and it would have been nice to have some options of fruit. You pay 2000 for eggs. The hostel is a 10-15 min walk to centre. The staff at reception are lovely and really helpful about tours and activities. The only issue we had was when we went to get breakfast, there were no plates and no water left and the woman behind the bar walked off and ignored us… she knew but didn’t want to deal with it. we then had to wait for her to come back and ask. She still didn’t refill the water.

The most beautiful hostel i’ve ever stayed at! The rooms and facilities were incredibly clean. The staff are so helpful especially Abby who was wonderful checking us in and sorting out a mistake I had made when booking. The location has breathtaking views and is so close to everything! Would definitely recommend to anyone.

I hadn't stayed at an excellent hostel in almost 15 years. The last hostel I stayed at was in Cotopaxi, Ecuador. That I thought would be my best hostel experience. I wanted to give my 18 year old son a hostel experience instad of hotels where we normally stay. I think I did a disservice because now he will expect all hostels to be like this, and they are not. This will now be my Best hostel experience. The staff was excellent, we had Abby help us with everything. At one point at 2am my bathroom door jammed, and not only did they help us at 2am they had it fixed before we got back from our next excursion. As a business owner, i personally like to hear about how my clients are treated when there is a problem. How the situation is handled. The staff at America del Sur, did an excellent job and I would recommend this place to anyone. Also everyone speaks english and spanish.
Rahul M — Google review
If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. América del Sur Hostel isn’t just a place to stay, it’s an experience, a vibe, a community, and a second home tucked into one of the most breathtaking corners of the world. From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed not like a guest, and that feeling never left. Abby, you are the soul of the hostel. Always kind, incredibly helpful, and radiating warmth like a human fireplace. You made everyone feel seen, heard, and cared for. Mateus, your energy is contagious. Welcoming every traveler like an old friend, always up for a laugh enjoying , some good food or sharing something. Your generosity and spark brought life to every moment And Vero, thank you. Your kind and caring nature made me feel like I was family. Your unwavering support, and your ever-ready smile made even the small things feel like big gestures. But it’s not just the people, it’s the atmosphere. There’s an unspoken magic here. The crackling by the fire, music echoing softly in the background while the mountains peer through the windows, this place has soul. The view? Unmistakable. The kind that makes you stop mid-sentence just to stare out and whisper wow under your breath. The room? Spotless. Clean, cozy, and warm. What sets this place apart isn’t just the scenery or the comfort , it’s the people and the feeling. You arrive a solo traveler and leave part of something much bigger. I’ve stayed at dozens of hostels around the world, but this one, this is the one I’ll always talk about. This is the review they’ll show future guests. Trust me, if you’re even considering staying here, book it. Stay longer than planned. You won’t regret it. Can’t wait to come back. Forever grateful. Josh

Great location, located in the city centre. Very convenient for pick up/drop off and exploring the city. Staff were nice and helpful, they helped me with a lot of stuff. They’re friendly too. Breakfast is nice, same as described in google map reviews but it is enough and full for me. Room in comfy, no air con but still feels good.

The hotel was overall clean, reasonably priced, and quiet. The room did not have air conditioning. We stayed there in April and while it wasn't particularly hot, I tend to get hot very easily. I just assumed it would have A/C. Afterwards, I went back and checked the site and they never claimed to have it. But that still surprised me. We turned off the heat altogether but still needed to sleep with the window open. It's a quiet town so not a major issue but still not preferred. I probably would stay somewhere else next time, at a hotel with A/C but otherwise it was a pleasant experience and an excellent location.

Natasha is absolutely awesome! She helped us find restaurants, grocery stores and even made reservations for us ( the tour bus had a flat tire so we missed it). The hotel is neat and clean and the towels (as a lifetime Marriott member) are the softest I have ever encountered. Great location too.

The best thing about this hotel is Natasha at Reception. She is so helpful with directions, restaurant recommendations, advice and just being super friendly and welcoming. Aside from her - the location is ridiculously central - you are on the Main Street in 1 minute!! Breakky is very basic but enough to start your day. Would recommend only the superior room, but you will have some noise at this hotel no matter what- can’t be avoided. Also William on reception was very helpful and friendly.

Great service! The hotel has a nice design in stone, wood and glass, but what we most appreciated was how good we were treated. We had to move our booking forward and they smoothly made the change. On top of that the food recommendations given at the front desk by the staff were on spot! The only thing we were disappointed with was breakfast and the lunch packs they propose. For a 3-star hotel the quality and variety could definitely be improved.

We loved this hotel and stayed twice here during out trip. Beds are comfortable, hot water is pretty much unlimited. Location is two blocks from the main street and all it's attractions. Free parking. Breakfast is above average. It's a 4 star hotel for the region.

Hotel is fine, nothing spectacular. Rooms are tiny. Breakfast is good though. Be aware that if you ask the reception to book you a taxi to the airport, you will be charged with a very high (predetermined) fee. Better to make use of the airport shuttle and not book via the receptionist
Sebas S — Google review
It’s mostly run down. The breakfast is basic. The rooms are tiny, the bathroom and the overall look of the hotel shows it hasn’t been remodeled in years. Not worth the positive reviews I see here in my opinion.
Remi G — Google review
This is an outright terrible accommodation. Period. **Not a 3-Star Hotel – Would Not Recommend** This hotel is *not* a 3-star experience — at best, I would rate it 1 stars. I strongly recommend staying elsewhere. Here's why: **Room Comfort:** - The mini-fridge in our room was broken. - The mattress was completely worn out, with deep dents on both sides — extremely uncomfortable. **Cleanliness:** - The carpets were filthy and heavily stained. - The walls were visibly dirty and in serious need of repainting. - The bathroom tub had mold, and the entire room smelled musty and moldy. - Overall, the room desperately needs renovation. **Wifi:** - The WiFi does *not* work in the rooms. This was a major inconvenience. **Restaurant (Buona Resto Bar):** - The food was very poor quality and poorly cooked. I’ll leave a separate review under the restaurant’s name. **The only positive:** - The building looks nice from the outside and location is central — but that’s where the positives end. Save yourself the disappointment and choose a different hotel.

Surprisingly good. Besides the problems you find everywhere in patagonia (thin walls mot much noise insulation) the hotel is good. Good breakfast Helpfully reception 24/7 Warm and cozy rooms Clean its value for money. Only downside is Internet which is ridiculously bad. Doesn't take much effort to improve that.
Constantinos P — Google review
The rooms and beds are somewhat dated, the carpet in the room had not been cleaned for years. Walking on it in white socks made the socks dark gray. The walls don’t have much sound isolation. On the flip side, the bathroom was freshly renovated, the staff friendly and accommodating, and there is plenty of parking, a big plus given the location.

Rooms were outdated and far too hot when we visited, with no fan or A/C to lower the temperature. We ended up leaving the windows open all day and night to compensate, which meant it was particularly noisy at night time when the stray dogs bark and cars zoom past on the adjacent main road. There are no extractor fans in the bathrooms. The bed was comfortable and the hotel is located walking distance from town.

This is my 2nd time staying here, definitely recommend it, really nice staff, great service, it's a good value option, rooms maybe a bit dated but comfortable, others have mentioned about the heating, rooms too hot, ask reception and they will turn it down if you ask, as for the location, I think it's great, 10,15 min walk from town , away from the main road, people saying it's far from town, they come all the way to Patagonia and moan about a 15 min walk, may they should research a bit first, there's a great thing called Google maps! Decent breakfast, all the staff I met were very helpful at the hotel, would stay again if in the area

We really liked this hotel. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Rooms were warm and comfortable. Breakfast was great, and they provide gluten free options on request (with labels on food items at the buffet). It’s a 10-15 minute walk from the centre of town but that wasn’t an issue for us.

The location is a little out of the way unless you have a rental car. The rooms were ok, but be prepared that they do not guarantee a double bed if you're a couple. The service overall was good, but we checked in early and left our luggage. Expected our room to be ready upon our return around 6 pm (past 3 pm checkin time), to find that we had to wait for our room. Breakfast was super delicious. Would recommend for your stay.

Pros: Rooms are clean and comfortable. Neighborhood is safe, walkable and quiet. Staff are friendly and helpful with great customer service. Excellent location; walkable to downtown and lots of restaurants. Cons: The Internet gets very slow at times. The hot water periodically goes cold during showering. The breakfast is mostly continental with pastries, cheese, cereal and cold cuts. They have an odd rule that I've not seen before in any hotel where outside food is not allowed in the hotel. Overall, I rated a 4 and would recommend.

The rooms are very nice, the surroundings especially the garden is beautiful. Just the stuff is unprofessional. Booked over an agancy. Had big problems to convince them that I booked in advance, waited 90 mins for my dinner, left the restaurant then. Booked a transport to the airport for the next morning. Didn't work also. Some of the stuff speaks no English at all

Confortable, but there are too many restrictions!! If you dont Have money to eat in restaurants, better make a different choice. "No outside food in the rooms" And neither changing the temperature of the heaters...

Folk Hostel is a laid-back and modern accommodation option in El Calafate, conveniently located near the bus station and town center. The hostel offers comfortable dorms and private ensuite rooms, along with top-notch facilities such as a spacious kitchen, complimentary breakfast, and underfloor heating. Run by a young and enthusiastic team, Folk Hostel provides detailed knowledge of the region to help guests tailor their experience.
Excellent hostel in a convenient location a few blocks away from the El Calafate bus terminal. However, be aware the road right in front of the hostel is unpaved so lugging any suitcases with wheels will be annoying for about a few hundred feet. The staff here are very nice and friendly and the free breakfast was great and filling. It included eggs, toast, pastries, fruit, yogurt, and juices. There is also a communal kitchen and lobby area.
Lydia Y — Google review
Great hostel with friendly staff. Nice and big communal kitchen where you can easily cook your own meals if you want. Big spacious floor plan for the hostel. Very convenient location close to the bus station. While the dorm bunk beds were warm and comfy during my stay, they could stand to be upgraded with privacy curtains.

Unironically the best hostel we stayed at! It was really clean, and I feel like they were cleaning all the time, which made the hostel look really nice! Beds were hard, but it was the only down side… it was not a big deal though! Kitchen facilities were absolutely amazing, and everyone were so good at keeping the kitchen clean! Breakfast was amazing too! Staff were incredible and very helpful! Super friendly and naturally funny!

Common areas/bathrooms are very spacious and the shower is great. Breakfasts are quite basic but included. Staff are very friendly. Location is close to the main streets and easy to get to by foot. It is also very close tot the bus terminal. You can book tours to Perito Moreno through the hostel.

Folk Hostel has been an absolutely fantastic way for us to explore El Calafate. They were incredibly helpful in organising transit to Perito Moreno Glacier, and Alexis the taxi driver was fantastic and so helpful. We even rebooked him for our Airport transfer. Would recommend!

Great hostel with the friendliest staff around. We stayed here in a private room and loved it. It’s right next to the bus station but only a 5/10 minute walk into the Main Street of El Calafate. Breakfast was great too!

Affordable hostel. Hot water and warm atmosphere. Clean room with a cozy common area. Near bus station. The only downside is no soundproof even in private room. The breakfast is a bit lackluster but you can buy snacks and salami in the 2 convenient stores nearby.

A very pleasant place in quiet, green surroundings. It's easy to reach downtown El Calafate on foot. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable and breakfast was tasty. A special shout-out to Marcelo and Laura at reception for their kindness. ¡Muchas gracias!

A lovely place with very convenience location. This place is better than our expectation. it's only 10 mins walk to CBD and 20 mins walk to the bus terminal. The room, although old, is clean and warm. The reception is helpful and welcoming. The breakfast was fulfilling. Thank you for the positive staying experience

You get what you pay for but even that the rooms need a lot of maintenance! There were spider webs and in general is very old. The water wouldn’t go down in the showers , we moved rooms and the bed was so very bad ! I didn’t sleep well at all. Breakfast is meh ! If you are on a budget stay there but know it’s not the best

Nice room with excellent temperature. Good breakfast. People tending the place can give you tips on trips to take or places to visit. Consierges speak English. Clean, cozy. You can check out and leave your backpacks behind for a few hours if you still got time in the city and the personnel will take good care of it.

We spend one good night in this hotel. The bed and breakfast were OK, the staff was very friendly and efficient. It is from a 10 minutes wall from the main street which is great. The small terrace was on a garden, no view in the lake but the green and quiet. It's a simple but nice place.
Maxime — Google review
This hostel is located above the city of El Calafate. Just a couple of steps alongb the gravel road and you can enjoy the views with the town in front and the mountains in the far. The rooms are very quaint, unless you book a family room. The showers and bathroom need some maintenance, but were clean. Breakfast is very simple, so if you want variety, stop at the local supermarket. Since doors and floors are wood, it gets a bit noisy in the morning as guests leave the room and walk along the corridor.
Ines S — Google review
Very comfortable room, great breakfast in the morning with many options. Staff were so amazing and accomodating. We had some issues with our flight, etc. and they were extremely helpful through every step of the process. I would recommend this experience to everyone!!!

Quiet and off the main street (and up a hill), it was a bit rustic (wood everywhere - ceiling, walls, floors) but everything worked as advertised (WiFi, climate control, TV with satellite). Continental breakfast was average, with the rare inclusion of hard boiled eggs.

Nestled in a picturesque setting, Linda Vista Apart Hotel offers an inviting escape with its charming wood-paneled cabins. Guests rave about the exceptional hospitality provided by Susana and her family, who go above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. From delicious breakfasts to personalized tour recommendations that highlight stunning sunset views, every detail is taken care of.
Perfect location for walk ability, close to the lake but also the Main Street. Staff was so welcoming and helped us organize a cab back to the airport. One downside is that the WiFi is really spotty and doesn’t work in some areas of the room.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this apart hotel in Calafate! From the moment we arrived, the hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable—they were incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help with anything I needed, including great local tips and recommendations. The location of the hotel is perfect—quiet and peaceful, yet just a short walk to the center of town, restaurants, and shops. It was the ideal base for exploring the area, including visits to the stunning Perito Moreno Glacier. The apartment itself was spotless, cozy, and well-equipped with everything I needed. I can’t recommend this place highly enough—it was one of the highlights of our trip, and we would return in a heartbeat. Thank you Susana for being an amazing host and for making it such a memorable experience!

This place is an incredible value! Each room/apt has 2 queen beds and a single. And they are all very comfy. The rooms are clean with good water pressure and hot water in the showers. The location is just off the main strip, so walking anywhere is easy. Also, the owners are fantasticly nice people and are very helpful. We enjoyed the stay. Can't say enough good about this place. Will be back next trip. Thank you 🙏

Excellent place to stay in El Calafate. Convenient location, close to the main street with all the shops and restaurants and an easy walk to Laguna Nimez bird sanctuary. The room was spacious and clean. Linda is exceptional at running this place. She helped us with booking taxis, transfers to bus terminal/airport, and other day trips which made for an enjoyable and smooth trip to El Calafate. Highly recommend Linda Vista.

I loved this place!! My mom and I stayed in Linda Vista for 4 days 3 nights and it was fantastic. Susana, the owner, was so kind and guided us with a variety of tours, which we loved every single one of them. Breakfast was served every morning, the price is reasonable, the room was so clean and warm. Everyday after a long day of touring the mountains and glaciers, we would come to our room (like coming home) to rest well for the following day. Our apart had one room with two beds downstairs and another room with two beds, with a living room, a small kitchen with a dining table, a fridge and a microwave. Very spacious! If I come back to Calafante, I will definitely stay in Linda Vista again. I highly recommend this place to anyone coming to Calafante, Patagonia.

They have a Wifi network so they can say that they have one but there is no internet once you connect. You have to go down to the lobby to get any kind of decent Wifi. Its 2024, you need to have Wifi to make guests happy......We booked a stay at Linda Vista for 4 nights. We were forced to change our flights and were not able to make it to Calafate and could only use the last two nights of our reservation. We communicated this to the property and they said that they would not refund any of our stay and in fact canceled our remaining reservation. We showed up and they let us stay for the last two nights but kept all the money for the other two days. Terrible customer service.....

I have stayed on all continents in all types of hotel but i honestly feel i have never met kinder people. The rooms are clean and well kept. Their advice was also really good recommending places to watch the sun set. Also the food and restaursnt recommends will not disappoint. We also took a tour from here which was walking on ice. It was a really good experience. We drove and they had parking too with a lot of space. Nothing to complain about. Thankyou!

With amenities such as a wine bar, fitness room, and private spa bath service, the hotel ensures a relaxing stay. what a unique experience. Rafael, the hotel owner, is the most gracious and involved owner of any hotel I've ever experienced. He is totally involved and cares about your experience, wanting you to have the best stay possible. He also shares any information he has about how to see the best that Calafate has to offer. We had the best dinner of our trip at his hotel. He also made us drunks himself with ice from the perrito Moreno glacier that he got himself! Like I said, unique🔥

I cannot say enough about the great team at the hotel. We had booked another hotel that turned out to be pathetic and more for a teenage overnight backpacker. And even though there was a huge festival in town they were able to get us a very nice room with jacuzzi tub and all. Breakfast was great! Staff always available and acknowledged us and again this is where you want to be! Room cleaned every day as if no one ever had been staying there - just beautiful!

You should stay here if you love perfectly hot showers that feel like a spa experience, delightful sunlit breakfast rooms, and great walking location to restaurants and downtown. But what really sets this place apart is the owner Rafael. I have never been to a hotel where I felt that someone cared so much about our happiness. This man should teach a master class in hospitality. Thank you Rafael for making our stay here unforgettable. 🙏

We spent three nights at the Patagonia Queen and had a great experience. The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful, we felt right at home as soon as we arrived. The hotel is conveniently located at one end of town, easily walkable to all of the shops and restaurants. Our room was quiet and comfortable, and included a min-fridge and an amazing shower. We inquired about A/C and were given a fan to run at night, which worked out perfectly for us. There was a game room with a pool table and a ping-pong table, which was fun to enjoy after dinner. On our last night, we were treated to a unique "cocktail" experience, with the owner preparing a special drink that celebrates the highlight of El Calafate: the glacier. Definitely happy to recommend the Patagonia Queen if you're looking for a comfortable, unique stay in el Calafate that is a welcome change from a typical chain hotel.

Great experience here at Patagonia Queen. Stayed three nights before heading to El Chaltén. The staff are so friendly, especially Rafael - very personable, friendly and had good recs on where to eat. Nice clean room and shower, bathroom floors felt heated and the water pressure for the shower was AMAZING. They even have breakfast included with our stay! It’s walking distance to most of the restaurants and shops. We wanted to try and book on our return from El Chaltén, but they were booked and we know why! Would recommend staying here if you’re in awl Calafate!

I can say without a doubt this has been one of my favorite hotel stays ever. Rafael and the team at the Patagonia Queen made us feel welcome and like part of the family. The facility itself is beautiful and spotlessly maintained. Comfortable beds, amazing shower, ample common spaces, a wonderful balcony and front patio. The gardens and view from the breakfast room are beautifully crafted. I could go on and on about the countless small details, but I'll leave it to you to discover them when you enjoy the Patagonia Queen for yourself.

This hotel features comfortable rooms with a view of the lake, as well as a restaurant/bar and a sauna. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and the place is not too fancy but has all the amenities you need.
The location is a few minutes (driving) away from the main city centre but I like that its in a quiet location. The room ( had a 4 person room) was spacious and comfortable. If you need an adapter to connect your electronic devices, they give you at check in. Now the level of service was amazing. Since its far away from city centre, they can contact you a taxi to pick you up, they have several numbers of restaurants that will deliver to you and they even organize day excursions. Their breakfast buffet is decent. Starts at 630am and pretty much covers a standard breakfast selection. They have an in house restaurant as well. The staff is great today. Thank you Luisa for being welcoming and nice. Your level of service is amazing. Btw, they have a parking area in front of hotel. I would recommend staying at this hotel
Elvis P — Google review
We stayed 2 nights as a first stop in Argentina. The room was okay, nothing fancy and could probably use some updates. Breakfast was okay in the AM. But 2 big complaints. The location is FAR outside of the city center - a good 40 min walk if you are a fast walker. Taxis are hard to come by, so this hotel is really only doable if you have a rental car. But we encountered a problem on the evening of the second day. We did laundry through the hotel to be picked up after a full day at the glacier, and when we picked it up at 7:30p, they told us they only could accept cash as payment - and only Argentinian Pesos. That wasn’t communicated before, so we didn’t have any ARS on us, only USD and CLP. We were tired after being out all day and so we asked if we could pay with dollars, not accepted. How about a card - no. Can we change dollars for pesos here - no, only in the center of town. Can we pay tomorrow? No, need it today. I understand that there may be policies in place that keep the front desk staff from accepting other currencies - but what was upsetting was the absolute lack of help from the person at the desk. When I asked for a cab to get to town, the man at reception told me “they only accept pesos” and didn’t really offer any other solutions. I would have hoped for a bit more assistance since we were clearly in a tight situation. Maybe making a call to see if any taxi could accept cards or even just keep the meter running while they wait for me at a cambio or bank. We later found out some taxis do take cards as well. It was only when I walked to the other hotel down the street that I got some advice and suggestions - few places to try that might be able to help closer. This is the service I would have hoped for. In the end, I had to walk 40 mins back into town at 8pm, upending our evening, to go to an ATM to pull out just enough cash to get back and pay the bill. There were so many ways this hotel could have just been a tad more helpful - even if they could not physically help with the cambio itself. But they choose the hardline every time. Other items at the hotel we had no issues paying with credit card. We paid by credit card for 2 bottles of water at checkout.

This place was decent for the price. It's a small hostel with ~8-10 rooms (2 stories) and the rooms are pretty dated. Our bathtub also clogged pretty easy, so I think the upkeep could have been better. We couldn't figure out how to turn on the old heating system, but it was springtime and just a bit cold -- so wasn't too much of a bother. Central location though, so you can walk everywhere. We had dinner one night (book ahead because it's small and takes a bit of time to get food) at the restaurant and that place had really good food but the service was quite understaffed. My original thought was this place was just OK (3 of 5 stars), but we stayed at another place once we came back from El Chalten and Chile areas... then Koi Aiken felt 4 of 5 stars for what you can get in El Calafate if you're not shelling out quite a bit. No noise issues, so that's always a plus. But don't think the crowd trekking to Patagonia is a stay up late/make noise type of person. Service during check-in and check-out was very friendly- very hostel-type service of relaxed but helpful atmosphere.

The hotel is very cozy and a great place to stay. The place is clean, the breakfast is good. It’s important to know that this hotel is far from the city center. If you rent a car this won’t be a problem. The massages are good and cheap, my wife had a massage and really helped her. I would recommend this place with a doubt.

Konke Hotel is a charming accommodation located at the entrance of the city, offering simple rooms with minibars and spacious showers. The hotel features a bar, dinner service, and a pastry school. Guests can enjoy a varied breakfast and wine bar on-site. While the staff is helpful, it's beneficial to have some knowledge of Spanish as most of them do not speak English fluently. Additionally, the hotel offers bicycle rental services for convenient exploration of the area.
Best hotel in town! Extremely nice, English speaking staff, good food, nice and clean accommodation. We were most pleased with our choice. The breakfast was superb for a 3-star hotel. The only slight disadvantage was the location, as the hotel is located slightly out of town, 2km from the touristic center with all the restaurants and Cafés.
Branislav H — Google review
Not the best! Rooms were stuffy, hot and noisy. The hotel is right next to a major road so if you open the window you can hear the road. The reception staff were having conversations at 4am which woke us up. The hotel started banging and mowing lawns at 7am. The hotel is about 10-15 mins walk to the town but about 3-4 mins walk from the bus terminal. Not much going on around the hotel. The breakfast was pretty bad, mostly cakes which did not seem fresh. All in all, probably ok if you get for a good price but don’t come with high expectations.

The space of room and shower is very big. Nice breakfast, it has a wine bar and dinner service. Dinner starts at 7pm. Staff are helpful. If you can speak a little Spanish is better. Most of staff don’t understand English except the reception. It is not very close to downtown, to downtown walking around 15-20 Mins. It has rental bicycle service, 180ARS per one for 4 hours. The cons is WiFi speed, it is way too slow. I change my 4G in most of time.

Our stay at Posada Larsen was incredible. It started well before our trip where they reached out to help us book all our excursions and transfers. We had the double deluxe room, and the view of the Andes was amazing. Milagros, who staffed the main office, was so kind, helpful, and communicative. Rooms were very clean and the breakfast was a nice continental spread. Would absolutely stay again!!

Nestled in the charming town of El Calafate, Hosteria Cauquenes de Nimez is a delightful retreat just a stone's throw from the stunning Laguna Nimez nature reserve, where birdwatchers can revel in sightings of flamingos and other avian wonders. This cozy hotel offers comfortable accommodations with a warm atmosphere, perfect for families or solo travelers alike. While the rooms may be on the smaller side, they are impeccably clean and provide all necessary amenities.
We had a lovely stay at Cauquanes de Nimez! It is located very nicely, just a few minutes walk from the nimez lagoon and ca 10-15min walk from the city center. The hotel has a very cosy and homely feel to it. The rooms were simple, but tidy and had everything one needs. The service was excellent, helpful and everyone made us feel welcome (special thanks to the lovely receptionists Flor and Mayra!). We would definitely come again 5/5

The photo of the accommodation looks very charming but it actually views some back yards - besides that it's quite far from the centre and not the most pleasant area. Dirty carpets and no pressure on the shower. However the lake is nearby and we had a very nice walk and dinner and drinks with a lot of young local people at nearby bar-cafe-restaurant La Cantina.
Annette A — Google review
The room smelled musty and dusty. The hotel said they would arrange a private transfer, but there wasn’t anyone to pick us up from the airport. After waiting almost an hour, we were then overcharged by the taxi the hotel sent to pick us up. The free breakfast was okay, but the coffee tasted strange.

We had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The rooms are cozy, but quite small, but clean. The location is a bit off the city center, but within 15 minutes by walk not that far away. Make sure you have dinner at El cucharon just around the corner. The breakfast’s choice was a bit too tiny but everything is home-made. They have a very friendly staff that speaks well English. The only thing is that the washing bag (actually 23k ARS) costed 35k ARS because it was too full. That‘s a rip-off…

Unfortunately the most disappointing stay of our holiday. Small room, noisy (could hear everything from the neighbouring room), dirty. Looks attractive on photo but isn’t. Breakfast was not good either, no fresh products. Poor stay.

This is where dreams of Patagonia come to die. Our stay at this hotel was the biggest disappointment of our trip to Argentina. Despite advertising itself as a three-star hotel, it felt more like a hostel, with unhelpful and unfriendly staff. The breakfast was awful, and the location was inconvenient—a long walk from shops and situated in an area that felt unsafe. Overall, a very disappointing experience.
Alena M — Google review
A very good and family-friendly hotel! The owner of this hotel is a nice smiley lady. Her attention to the guests makes your stay better! The location is okay. El Calafate is not a big city and you can reach the center in 10-15 min by walking. But nearby the hotel there is amazing view with the lake and mountains! The breakfast was good. Everything you need. The service is great. We are very thankful to this hotel because they helped to arrange transfer to the airport for us! It was a big problem because we were leaving on Christmas and no taxi works during the holiday. We recommend to stay at this nice place!

The reception staff are so friendly and helpful! The rooms are about small, without enough room to unpack, but we could make due for 5 nights. The hotel was quiet except for one night when a noisy family came in and had to be asked to be quiet about 2 a.m. The breakfast is the same each morning with breads, jams, granolas, fruit salad (canned?) and thinly sliced ham and cheese. It's probably a mile walk to town, but not difficult. The nearby neighborhood looks a little rough but whenever felt unsafe during the daytime. Just down a short street is lake Argentina which is nice to visit.

Nice place, spacious rooms, very good breakfast, very helpful staff. A bit outside of the city centre.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean and the view was fantastic. I can absolutely recommend the hotel. The only negative point is the location of the hotel.

1. Five star goes to Ana. Very attentive and caring. She takes care of you like a mom. She is a gem of the hotel. I enjoyed my stay and interaction with her. 2. The other stuff members are also very nice. 3. Bonus point is free bicycle borrowing service so you can get around the lake for half a day. 4. Hotel facilities could be improved.

Nice hotel with great views away from the town but not too far away . One of the most comfiest beds. Breakfast can do a bit of uplift though …

I really enjoyed staying here! Big clean room with a nice view. Staff was friendly and helpful. It is a bit far from town but the the lake promenade was enjoyable with lots of wildlife (mainly birds) to see so the 40 minutes (roughly) getting to town flew away. The only negative thing was the breakfast, not much to choose from and the worst "bread" I got in Argentina (I'm Norwegian so bread is important), the croissant was not good either. Three nights in November 2018.

Amazing service and views from the room. The staff is pleasant. Would 100% recommend to all visiting here in the future

Beautiful European looking hotel. Exposing wood ceiling, great location, unfortunately the room have no air conditioning. I wish they have a ceiling fan that would help greatly.

Although view was lovely. Hotel left a bit to be desired. Toilet seat chipping. Conversation next room and toilet flushing easily heard. Breakfast fair.

Guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast and unwind in the shared lounge or beautiful garden area. The welcoming atmosphere is complemented by attentive staff who prioritize guest safety and satisfaction.
I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The hotel is lovely, it felt like you were staying in a home not a hotel. The staff are so friendly and the owner Mariano was so helpful and gave great guidance on what to see. The location is great, it's not on the main road so it's quite, but very close to restaurants and the main street. The breakfast is really good, they provided a great selection.

Having stayed in many places this is perhaps one of the worst leading me to leave my reservation early. To be clear I stayed in one of the offered cabins and not in the typical rooms- I am unable to speak to the condition of the rooms. I stayed in early December and had three main issues with the space. The first was that the bathroom sink - and only the bathroom sink- ran brown on two different occasions. I was informed after bringing it up that the city was working on the pipes. It never happened in the Kitchen sink but obviously I didn't trust the water after that as, if the explanation is true, the kitchen water would also be compromised. Secondly, the place was infested with spiders. This was not obvious at first as they generally came out at sundown around 10-10:30 pm. After killing multiple spiders I went to the front desk to a young man who spoke limited English and came by with a can of raid. After more spiders kept appearing I ended up being given the raid for the night and told that is just how it is. Thirdly was the lack of cleanliness. The sheets had been changed but found dirt and spiderwebs throughout. Further, I found a full sock and other debris under the bed and hair that was not mine on the sink and in the shower and the mirror had splash marks. I was told that one of the housekeeping staff is lazy. I went by the desk multiple times the next day to try and talk to the owner and ended up sending multiple emails trying to be refunded for the second night I did not stay there. I never received any response. For the cost of this hotel I was massively disappointed and would not recommend staying here.

Selecting Madre Tierra as my hotel in El Calafate was the biggest mistake of my 30 day trip through South America. When I arrived at the hotel, I was promptly told if I could forgo the breakfast they would put in a bigger room. The bigger room was separate from the hotel and technically not on the hotel properties. I believe it some air b and b that the owner owns. The room appeared nice but there was no heat on, the room smelled of gas and the carbon monoxide alarm was dinging. Based on the thermometer on the wall the room was 12 C. Being understanding of the heat being low and it being winter in El Calafate, I left for my tour. When I returned four hours later from my tour, there still was no heat and the room still smelled of gas. Based on the thermometer, the room was 15 C. I promptly attempted to walk over to the front desk. However, the entire building was locked. I then texted the owner. It took over 90 minutes for him to respond. If I had been staying in the main building, I would have been locked out of my room for over two hours in below freezing weather. Between the lack of heat and the smell of gas apparent in the room, I demanded my money back and was paid back. Do not stay here and do not agree to this random cottage. The hotel also has an excessive credit card fee. While I was aware of it when booking, he's definitely trying to force everyone to pay in cash for his own benefit. He tries to charge people 45 USD each way to get picked up from the airport and tried to dangle early check in for paying this excessive fee which I avoided by simply taking the airport shuttle. The shuttle service is 11 USD and a private cab cost $36 USD. Everything this hotel does is for the owner's benefit. Do not stay here.

Well situated, basic hotel. It had great reviews so we stayed 2 nights here on our trip in Patagonia. Would not recommend. Money was stolen out of our safe by what we believe was the staff. The owner was notified and I was assured that no one stole money because they have cameras... unless they have cameras in all the rooms I don't know how they would know if their staff was stealing. All room keys are left at the front desk and staff "turns down" your room in the evening. We had a sum of money that we kept hidden in our luggage and not out with us on the streets ever. While we stayed at MadreTierra we put it in the safe. The owner is accusing me of trying to scam or blackmail. I told him I'm just giving him feedback on my experience so that people know what they are getting into. Definitely if you stay here don't use the safe!

LOVED my stay at MadreTierra. Highly recommend staying here! All hotel staff was friendly and welcoming. As a solo traveler, I felt that the hotel staff cared about my safety and made sure you everything was enjoyable. Special thank you to Mariano for explaining all the activities in the area and helping me book my excursions prior to my arrival! And thank you to Mathias, for a smooth check-in process, warm welcome every time I came back to the hotel, and for helping me book a taxi to the airport. Breakfast is provided and had ample options. Thankful for the coffee and tea available in the lobby as well in the afternoon. I loved the decor of the entire hotel, and in my room. The little details including your name on your hotel door make such a thoughtful difference. Also, my room was a lot bigger than expected! The bed was the most comfortable of my whole trip to Argentina. Would love to stay here again if I am ever back in El Calafate.

Excellent location just a few minutes walk from the main street. Good, simple breakfast that included healthier options as well. Rooms were on the smaller side but very clean and comfortable enough for a shorter stay. Street parking is also available right in front and is safe. Mariano was very kind, helpful, and gave good suggestions for things to see and do. Few small suggestions for improvement would be to provide guests with more soap. There were 4 small bottles of lotion but just 1 snall bottle of bath soap which is difficult to use as hand soap. Also, a few more hangers would also be useful. Otherwise a very pleasant stay.

My experience with the Hosteria was tainted by a hidden 15% fee. I booked through a third party vendor and there was a mishandling of the information from the beginning. No accountability was taken by either party. Be aware prior to booking. The water temperature for showering is completely inconsistent resulting in being scalded and chilled within the same few seconds and they enter your room multiples times a day without permission. That said, there was a front desk person that was highlight. He was kind and well informed about the local area.

The staff was mostly friendly and helpful but we were disappointed in a couple things given the high ratings. Our room wasn't well located (near the lobby) and the amount of noise was a little disturbing. We chose not to add the breakfast as we had an early departure. There was no coffee in the room and when we went to the lobby and asked if we could get a cup of coffee, they said we had to buy breakfast in order to get coffee.

This 4-star hotel is located in El Calafate, just a few minutes' drive from Bahia Redonda and Gnome Village. The guestrooms are individually decorated and feature fireplaces, private spa tubs, and TVs. In addition to the on-site breakfast, guests can also enjoy discounts at local restaurants and shops.
We loved our stay at Blanca Patagonia! The views are incredible. The area is peaceful. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to accommodate our travels. The food and cocktails were great! Rooms were spacious and comfortable. It’s about 30 minute walk into town, but we could also get taxis easily. This might be the hotel with the best views in El Calefete!

(Translated by Google) Place with a very nice view of the lake, quiet and the best thing is that they are pet friendly. Something that I have not found in any hotel in Argentina. The breakfast is not very varied but quite rich and what is notable is that the rooms all have bathtubs and include a view of the lake.
