Museu Oscar Niemeyer, also known as the "Eyes Museum," is a futuristic architectural marvel designed by renowned Brazilian architect Oscar Ribeiro de Almeida Niemeyer Soares Filho. Opened in 2002, it is the largest museum in Latin America and features 12 rooms showcasing contemporary art, design, and architecture. The building itself resembles a giant eye and is perched on a massive yellow pillar, creating an awe-inspiring sight for visitors.
Amazing museum dedicated to one of the most famous architects you will ever come across in Brazil. The museum is very well done and has sufficient reading material as well as displays. Some of the art is interactive and some of it is historical artifacts. There is a lot of modern art and some art from people from Curitiba. The parts of the museum that showcase Niemeyer’s accomplishments are particularly cool, especially if you’ve traveled around and seen some of his works.
Miguel S — Google review
It’s a nice museum and a real Curitiba’s postcard, however the exhibition wasn’t good, I was expecting more for the most famous museum in town. I’m glad I didn’t pay. Usually on Wednesday the entry is free 10am-6pm
Babi L — Google review
Amazing building. African and Asian exhibitions were well curated and very engaging. Loved that museum goers were invited to create their own art out of materials similar to those used in the exhibition. Museum store needs some work.
Beth M — Google review
I expected more from the museum. The sculptures are ok, the space is very pretty and overall it's ok. The only thing I didn't like was the internal security team. Some of them are a bit rude when dealing with customers. Attention.
Fernando R — Google review
Free on Sunday so busier, of course. Went in to the museum with few expectations but came away impressed. Some very good exhibitions.
Rob — Google review
This famous museum is on every city tour. The architecture of the museum building is impressive, especially the adjacent building known as The Eye, which is quite stunning. There are wide open picnic spaces and grounds for walking and hanging out with friends. There are admission fees to enter the buildings to see the exhibits.
Albert L — Google review
A must see when visiting Curitiba! Great museum with a good cafe as well.
Billyzol — Google review
Clean, organized, well air-conditioned. Stunning view! Could be better: the „Free WiFi“ needs a registration which is only in Portuguese to get the English texts inside of the museum.

Botanical garden
Park
The Botanical Garden of Curitiba, established in 1991, is a stunning urban oasis that beautifully blends nature and design. Spanning an impressive 245,000 square meters, this garden features meticulously manicured French-style gardens leading to a striking glasshouse reminiscent of London's Crystal Palace. Inside the greenhouse, visitors can marvel at unique specimens from the Atlantic Forest flora.
I visited the garden on a rainy day, but the beauty of the botanical garden is unique. It was really nice to visit, and you don't have to pay to enter the park and the greenhouse. The outside is very beautiful, with the symmetry of the trimmed trees and the flowers all open and colorful, everything is very pretty. Inside the greenhouse, the stairs are easy to climb, but be careful, they can be slippery. Behind the greenhouse there is another garden, with different flowers, separated by season, and also a café at the end of the path. The park is very big, I didn't walk through it all, but I intend to go back and get to know it better.
Emelli R — Google review
A beautiful botanical garden with a huge array of different flowers, trees and animals. Staff at entrance were very friendly and had a free map of the city in English. The sensation garden cannot be missed, the staff there are very knowledgeable and described the like cycle of the Candelabra tree (the critically endangered tree of the state of Parana) in perfect English. Butterfly paradise with extensive variety, with huge numbers and even a hummingbird for the eagle eyed. A large number of species of birds, lots of fish sunbathing in the lake alongside turtles. The species of flowers in the greenhouse were so varied I may have missed a few, with notable mentions being banana palm flower and pineapple flowers. Lot's of Golden orb spiders in the trees in the sensation garden, be sure to look up especially if you are tall! Lot's more to explore with water fountains and solar arrays. Toilet facilities are free and immaculate. The cafe at the end of the semicircular shaded flower section with the statues is a must visit. I had the best cheesecake with red berries I've ever had, along with Pão com queijo, affogato (ice cream with expresso shot), and to go: the chocolate & nut cake, and a chocolate & cherry torte. All of which were very good value for money and incredibly tasty, staff friendly, approachable and spoke English (and allowed some practice Portuguese). Entrance is free!

Park
Parque Barigui, also known as Barigui Park, is a popular urban park in Curitiba, Brazil. Covering 1.4 million square meters, it offers a variety of activities for visitors. The park features sports courts, lakeside trails for hiking and biking, a skating rink, and BBQ grills. It was originally the land of pioneer Mateus Martins Leme before being transformed into a park in 1972.
The place is quite spacious, so it's best to arrive early to fully explore the entire garden. It's a popular and beautiful spot in Curitiba, with numerous picturesque locations throughout. Capybaras are abundant and incredibly cute, adding to the charm of the experience. The sunset view is absolutely stunning. I can’t wait to return. If you're considering it, don’t hesitate—it's definitely worth the visit!
Ayoub D — Google review
My favorite park. I didn't know I liked capybaras until I saw so many here! They're very cute. Also relaxing swans, hawks, vultures, and other birds who aren't so scared of humans so they let you come real close to take photos (but not too close!). So calm
Maddi P — Google review
Very beautiful and calm park, plenty of benches to sit on, places to have a picnic. The river is very calm and relatively clean. The sunset in this park is beautiful. There are different species of animals in this park, it is worth the walk in this park.
Emelli R — Google review
Amazing Beautiful Park, lots of paved walkways for the elderly, designated bike and run paths, and workout equipment. Last but not least the real reason why anyone goes here, is to see Curitiba's mascot, the world famous Capivaras that tend to be everywhere around the lake and grassy areas. You have to pay $2 bucks for the bathroom, which is kind of crazy since it a city park, but thats what is, bathroom are far apart, so beware with your water intake.
Alex L — Google review
Great park, with plenty green areas, and free fresh air. Remember to not touch the capibaras and give them space, is their habitat :)
Daniela G — Google review
Beautiful well kept and safe to walk around, great wildlife (birds, capybara, turtles)
K S — Google review
Great place to have a picnic, to see the sunset, to visit the capibaras, to run, go for a bike ride, do some exercise and have fun.

The Feira do Largo da Ordem, also known as the Garibaldi fair, is a vibrant Sunday market held in the heart of Curitiba. This bustling event features numerous stalls offering a wide array of crafts, paintings, sculptures, and local food items. Visitors can explore antique stalls and indulge in delicious snacks like acaraje while admiring the well-preserved old buildings that surround the area.
Fantastic local market only on Sundays until 14:00. I would highly recommend tourists to visit Curitiba, breaking up the journey between Sao Paolo & Florianoplis.
SEB W — Google review
Nice experience, the capybara pastel was the highlight and incredibly delicious but I will not be back in a hurry to the market anytime too. I feel the things are over priced here
Olivia G — Google review
"The Largo da Ordem Fair takes place every Sunday in the historic sector of Curitiba, with more than a thousand exhibitors and receives around 25 thousand visitors every weekend. In addition to handicrafts, the fair also offers a wide variety of foods, such as typical Paraná, organic products, and musical and theatrical performances. Over the years, the fair has become an important space for coexistence and cultural exchange, bringing together people from different origins and social classes in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Furthermore, it also has established itself as a space for valuing local culture, offering visibility and opportunities for artists and artisans in the region."

A must-visit experience in Curitiba. Sundays morning
Rory S — Google review
Great for a family outing for a Sunday morning. Various crafts, toys, music, food - something for all age groups to enjoy. Also a good time to visit The surrounding museums
Ananya D — Google review
(Translated by Google) I'm only giving 4 stars to the Largo Fair due to the lack of consideration and respect from the tourism department towards the artisans who display their products there, and I justify this as follows: 1. There are several empty stalls along the fair's route, which gives the impression of abandonment by the organizers; 2. The lack of oversight and organization, since walking through the fair, one sees many "industrialized" products in a fair titled "craft fair." I think the people at the secretariat don't know the definition of what crafts are; 3. The negligence and incompetence of the organizers regarding the care of the sidewalks and signage of the route where the stalls are placed; there are holes in the sidewalks, a lack of barriers for vehicles, and a lack of policing, giving rise to robberies and accidents; 4. The inappropriate and absurd idea of placing an exhibition of "old cars" and not "antique" cars on one of the streets that should have more stalls for the artisans of Curitiba, of which there are many. I would like to know whose unfortunate idea this was. But not everything is negative; A positive point in favor of the secretariat was the fact that they updated and replaced the stalls, which were previously unusable. In short, even so, it is worth visiting and getting to know the Largo da Ordem Fair, which is currently considered one of the largest. Craft fairs across the country.

Nestled in the heart of nature, Bosque Alemão is a delightful family-friendly park that beautifully showcases German culture and traditions. Spanning an impressive 38,000 square meters of lush native forest, this enchanting space was once part of the historic Schaffer family's farm. Since its inauguration in 1996, visitors have been captivated by its whimsical architecture and engaging attractions.
A beautiful woodland area with a cobblestone footpath. Lots of beautiful plants and a Hansel and Gretel house for the children There is also some places with stunning views of Curitiba. Not for those with walking difficulties as it is steep with lots of stairs. In the church there is a display showing a bit of Germany. Usually there is an art exhibition as well. Must try the churros from the van parked at the front

The German Wood was one of the greatest experiences I've ever had! That place is magic! If you got toddiers it can be a educational place to go for the stories by the book Hänsel & Gretel ( Grimm Brothers) are all spread around and you can getting close to the story tale end by the walking toward til the end of the trail.

It's a different park, not so big, but with a dense forest. The view deck is closed due restoration, but you can still walk in the path and read the João and Maria story, visit the German cafe Erika and the Witch's House where there are some activities for children sometimes. They have the German Portal too.
Midori H — Google review
Good place to walk with kids, be prepared to walk a little. There is a trail with the Hansel and Gretel story. And in the middle of course has a pleasant house/library with storytelling by a which. At the end, a nice place to relax and play with kids

It's a nice place to visit, but I don't consider there a "must go". There is a trek, telling the story of Hansel and Gretel while you walk through it, that leads you to the house of a witch. Nice place to go with the kids.

Bar
Bar do Alemão is a vibrant restaurant and taproom that transports you straight to Germany without leaving Brazil. Established in 1979, this beloved institution in Curitiba boasts a rustic tavern ambiance adorned with dark wood furniture and German flags, creating an authentic atmosphere. With a capacity of 950, it’s the perfect spot for those looking to enjoy hearty German cuisine alongside some of the best beers in town.
German food is not what I really enjoy, but I rate it as 5 because that place has good vibes and generous portions. Nice place for tourists for sure!
Kate — Google review
A German disgrace. The meats were processed and low quality, covered in mayonnaise and processed cheese—definitely not the authentic. The sauerkraut was trash, and the French fries were cold. If the food was even half as good as the restaurant decor, I'd give it two stars. It was the worst German food I've ever had. Skip this place and save your taste buds the trouble.
Derek B — Google review
Was ok, very touristy but that's to be expected. The beers were fine and I got to keep the mini keg from the u-boot as a souvenir! The beef tartar was fresh and delicious.
Dániel P — Google review
Great German restaurant in Largo da Ord in downtown Curitiba. I had the curry bratwurst. They were giod but a little sweet for my taste and not enough curry flavor. The atmosphere in the restaurant is excellent and makes you feel like you are in a German pub. The wait ataff was very attentive, and prices were reasonable. Also, excellent beer.
Charles C — Google review
The most classical bar in Curitiba. Try The Submarine tap beer. It has a small mug inside, full of some kind of spirit. In the past people used to steal these small mugs for collection so the legend says the bar owner decided to include it in the beer price. Nowadays you can read at it's bottom "honestly stolen". 😆 Another classic is the "Jaguar meat" and do not worry, it's not really Jaguar meat, just a tartar beef over bread. Servers tend to ignore you if you're not considered very well dressed or "chic" enough for deserving to be treated well, but unfortunately it's common all around the country. If you ignore it or go covered in brands you are going to have a fully great experience.
Jill V — Google review
The bar (restaurant) is pretty good, we ate there twice and I'm not the biggest fan of german food. But the plates serve two people and the atmosphere is nice. They have a flag in the ceiling and a souvenir shop inside. The waiters are not very polite, we were served by 3 different waiters in 2 different days, so probably it's accurate. The bar doesn't look very big from the outside, but it's very large inside.
Omayr Z — Google review
Best Germán food ever! Would recommend we ate like kings all for a cheap price!
Ashtli — Google review
I went there twice for dinner - sat once in the big salon in the back, and once near the souvenir shop. Service was way better upstairs! Food tastes really good and the portions are well served. You MUST try the submarine beer with the Steinhäger shot! It's awesome plus you get to take the small mug home as a souvenir! We took 5 of them with us lol. Prost!

Passeio Público, established in 1886, is the oldest public park in Curitiba, spanning 17 acres. Originally designed as a botanical and zoological garden, it has evolved into a popular leisure spot with hiking and biking trails, a picturesque lake offering pedal boat rides, and charming bridges. While no longer an official city zoo, the park still houses various Brazilian primates and birds.
Curitiba has the most amazing parks waiting for tourists to explore. I was impressed yesterday at the garden and this park also impressed me. Great job city of Curitiba. Free washrooms, playground for kids, beautiful birds, food, musical screen with ample of seats, beautiful water fountains and bridges. Can sit and relax on the ground and much more.

I was impressed that there was no entrance fee and there was so much to see. The different species of birds were a treat. Fountains, ponds and multiple places to sit and enjoy. There were many police around and you felt safe even though many homeless people laying around. Curitiba overall has a problem with homeless. I recommend checking out this park

Amazing park with a wide variety of birds (caged) inside. This is the first time I’ve seen a toucan, also the first time to see those huge and magnificent parrots. I’d advocate for a bigger living space for them though… It is pretty sad to see birds that should fly all locked up…

Ruínas de São Francisco is a historical site in Curitiba that offers a bit of history and interesting facts about the city. The ruins are not particularly impressive, but the square where they are located is a great place to spend time with family, especially on Sundays when there is a traditional fair. The area also features a good coffee shop and a nearby museum worth visiting. On Sunday mornings, the square hosts an enormous fair where visitors can shop for handmade crafts and arts.
It is a place to visit only at Sundays, when there is a fantastic, enormous fair. Otherwise, don't bother - and actually, avoid it, because it's a dangerous place, specially at night.

(Translated by Google) The worst dining experience I've ever had. I ordered a R$46 burger. They gave me a different one, with ingredients I don't eat. Okay, mistakes happen. I asked for a replacement. And the replacement was even worse... The new burger seemed like a desperate attempt to patch together something that was born wrong, as it arrived half the size it should have been, probably made with two small patties stacked together. Result? The middle was raw. The visual appearance was appalling, and the taste was enough to make you want to kill yourself. To make matters worse, it came with bacon, which wasn't described on the menu (and I don't eat bacon). And the "cheddar-stuffed burger," according to the description... where's the cheddar? It must have been an act of culinary illusion. There was a lack of care, a lack of care, and, honestly, a lack of professionalism. It seemed like they'd put someone completely untrained in charge of the kitchen. I wasn't the only one, as several tables left their food half-eaten and left visibly dissatisfied. And what should have been the bare minimum of food safety was also far from being met, with expired sachets on tables and expired drinks. This isn't just carelessness, it's disrespectful to the customer. (Original) A pior experiência gastronômica que já tive. Pedi um hambúrguer de R$46. Me entregaram outro, com ingredientes que não como. Ok, erros acontecem. Pedi para trocarem. E a troca veio pior...

Very nice zoo good for families and kids located near the airport it is a free entrance at have a lot of kind of birds animal wild animals. This place is for free. The parking too. Has a lot of animals and is not just good to see the animals, but also to take a walk. Some animals are free and some are in cages. Although almost all the animals are rescue animals. Which means they are there because they have been abused or were in a circus. Love this idea.

It was a great family trip. The zoo has a decent number of animals, and flora all for free. Signs could be improved though. We almost missed the lion and brown bear. Also, there was a guy informally "looking after" the cars on the parking lot in exchange for a few bucks. You may feel compelled to pay for his "service". Not mandatory though.

The only thing very annoying is children yelling at animals or making loud noises. Not only children sometimes. A must see place while you are in Curitiba if you love animals! Note: On Mondays is closed.

Ethnographic museum
Museu Paranaense, located in Curitiba, southern Brazil, is a two-building museum that delves into the heritage of Paraná. The museum houses a vast collection of around 400,000 objects, maps, and documents related to the history of Paraná. One building showcases archaeological and natural history exhibits while the other features a photographic collection of indigenous peoples.
I went there in a weekday, so it wasn't so crowded. The space is beautiful inside and outside. I recommend visitors to take some time to walk in the gardens that surround the building, it is very relaxing and there are benches to sit. Inside you'll have a a glimpse at Paraná's history: my highlight is a diorama of Curitiba in 1876, that will give you a notion of how much the city has grown. There is a place to lock your bike, in case you cycle there. However, I couldn't check if there was parking at the place – I assume not. You can park in the street or in the private parking lots that surround the place, but they are open-air spaces.
Gustavo T — Google review
The variety of exhibits was engaging. Every thing from antiquities to current multicultural context setting. Loved that the museum invited museum visitors to create and archive their own pieces. Not so large that it was fatiguing. Appreciated the English narrative and the museum might want to seek editing help from a native speaker.
Beth M — Google review
For those who loves history this place is a must! I really love to know the history behind the places who I visit, and get to know about Curitiba and whole Paraná state was amazing!!! I deeply recommend this place!
Maria E — Google review
I found this museum to be unfocused. In the original building, the first displays upstairs are about indigenous people in Mato Grosso. There is also some natural history. The new building has a mix of videos, historical items, modern art, and more indigenous items from Mato Grosso. I was expecting to learn more about Parana here but I really didn't.
Don M — Google review
This museum was bigger than I expected. Learnt so much history about my country, so much beautiful native things and so much more. Will definitely visit again.
Eduarda ( — Google review
Excellent exhibitions, including a large collection focusing on the indigenous peoples of Brazil (all items with English descriptions ❤️). There’s also a very interesting overview of the rich intercultural, multiethnic makeup of the state (as of Jan 2020, only in Portuguese - but hey, the camera function of Google translate works wonderfully!).

Must see museum if you are a foreigner traveling to this city. Entering is gratis, it consists of a historical home attached to a modern building with a diverse array of exhibits, including natural history, historical records of the state of Paraná, as well as various bills and coins from around the world. If your Portuguese is not strong you need to have your smartphone handy to read the exhibits.

(Translated by Google) I took the tour from the "Parque Tingui" stop on the Tourism Line. The park is huge and has plenty of space for walking, biking, and rollerblading, but I found it poorly signposted. There could have been a general map of the area and more signs along the way. From this stop to the Ukrainian Memorial, I only saw signs once, for the restroom and the path to the Memorial. Even then, I only took the dirt path that led to the Memorial because I saw other people walking along it; there were no signs indicating the direction.

It's not the biggest park in the city, but as almost of them is clean. The bad points are that City Hall publish some contraditory laws, such as: - at some place is said that all dogs are forbidden, at other that some specific races and sizes should be on lash and with a muzzle, but almost nobody obey that. Roller skate, and bikes are also not allowed, but many people use them. There are some municipal guards, who make nothing to improve the security, and reinforce the law, they only stay in their office.

I really enjoy being in this park. It's so peaceful and quiet. The ideal spot in Curitiba to chill, be in contact with nature and also absorb some culture. The Polish inspired houses look quite cute and contain some historical objects, it's interesting to get to know more about one of these cultures that influence the state of Paraná. In this park you'll be able to see many Araucária trees (the typical tree from the state). Very well maintained, it has bathrooms, a church, a tiny museum, nice walking places, a gift store and a playground for children. Pet friendly.
